She scrambled to the top of mommies head and looked at it awed by the thing. If mommy has to protect it then it must be reeaallllyy cool.

 

[JessieSune]

Simon, meanwhile, stays put.

It's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen. An orange or, somewhat like a marble, but with a brilliant glow fills your vision. You want to reach out and grab it, but you know better. It's brimming with power, you can feel it.

"Does Simon get to see?" asks Balaa gently.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"oops" She said simply and she let the poor Pichu crawl up and see it. "It's so pretty... what is it?"

 

[JessieSune]

Simon's eyes widen at the sight, but he doesn't speak.

"It's called a Life Orb, though this one is a little different from most," replies Balaa. "This one energizes the forest, and gives its guardians more power to better defend the forest and its Pokemon. My purpose is to protect it from anyone who would harm it. One day that will be your purpose, and, if you choose, it may be Simon's as well."

You can sense Simon's excitement, even under his controlled demeanor.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Wow....." She didnt know what else to say, the orb seeming so powerful and awesome. "Who would want to hurt it? it seems so nice."

 

[JessieSune]

"No one has sought to harm it in years, but that does not preclude the possibility of it happening. And unfortunately, some may seek to use its power for their own ends. I work to prevent that, while watching to ensure the forest is safe. Would you like to go home, now?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"S...sure" she said still awed by the orb, she could feel it's power radiate and it was so pretty. She also might have let some of Simons feeling get to her as well as her own.

 

[JessieSune]

"Okay."

A few minutes later the three of you are out of the clearing. Simon has stayed quiet the whole time.

"Did you enjoy that?" asks Balaa with a smile.

Before you can answer, you hear a faint growl.

 

[AmethystRoze]

The growl was scary enough to spook Danielle "Eep! did you hear that mommy?" Asked the little spooked Vulpix. She cuddled closer to her mom for safety, and had simon get closer as well.

 

[JessieSune]

"Yes," she replies, with just a very slight frown.

A moment later, a Gengar appears from apparently out of nowhere and begins cackling maniacally before summoning a Shadow Ball and hurling it at you. It's quickly dissipated by Balaa's Flamethrower.

"Stay behind me, children," she says quietly. "I need to dispatch this knave."

Gengar laughs again before hurling Shadow Ball at blinding speeds.

Danielle jumped behind mommy and had Simon do the same, she thought about reviving control to him but decided it would be safer not too. She was scared but she knew mommy would make everything ok.

 

[JessieSune]

None of Gengar's attacks hit. Balaa deftly knocks each ball out of the air with a Flamethrower, then sidesteps and summons a Psybeam, which she hurls at the Ghost-type. It stumbles back, but then uses Shadow Sneak to vanish. Balaa follows it closely, then realizes. Her eyes light up and you both begin to float, and then she places you in a tree, just in time for the Ghost Type to attack where you would have been.

"Don't you dare try to hurt my children," she says, enraged. Then comes another Flamethrower. This one hits -- and Gengar limps away -- but not before the now angered Pokemon slams him into the ground with another Psybeam.

Danielle watched the fight in awe mommy was so strong and brave. When he disappeared she looked her very hardest to find him but floated in the air when a large shadow appeared and tried to get them, she would've been more afraid, but her mommy was protecting her she was safe. Though seeing her mom so angry did spook her. Mommies so cool.

After the Gengar finally manages to get away, Balaa turns around, and for the first time, she looks nervous.

"Are you alright?"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Yeah, are you ok Simon?" she asked releasing him from her control a when the battle started. Her mind wandered a little, the fight was scary but with mommy there it was better.

 

[JessieSune]

"Sure," he says in a shaky voice. "Th-thank you for saving us."

"Think nothing of it. I am only glad neither of you were harmed." Balaa takes a breath, then resumes her normal composure.

 

[AmethystRoze]

Danielle jumped for joy, then remembered she was in a tree in the air and struggled to stay on the branch. "Oops". She smiled wide so happy the mommy saved them, and she liked that she included Simon as a 'Child'"

 

[JessieSune]

"Perhaps that is enough excitement for one day. Would you like to go home, Danielle?"

Simon struggles to hold onto the shaky branch, and lets out a relieved breath when you stop hopping.

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Do you want us to go home Mommy?" She asked tilting her head to the side. "Are we in the way?" I don't want to go home but I suppose if mommy rather us go home it's better.

 

[JessieSune]

"No, of course not, sweetheart. I just worried that this might have made you nervous."

"I--if Danielle is okay, I--I am too-o..." Simon stammers out.

"Your friend may need a little help -- he is fearful after what just happened."

 

[AmethystRoze]

Yeah.. I was thinking the same thing. She directed her thoughts towards Simon. It's gonna be ok, everythings fine, it's all over. She said/thought more persuasively than controlling this time.

 

[JessieSune]

Slowly, but surely, Simon begins to breath a bit more easily. His heart rate slows down, and his normal speech returns.

"Let's press forward, please. I want to see what else you do, Ms. Ninetales."

He seems quietly pleased at being able to calm down.

"Nicely done, sweetheart -- remember, sometimes you can help without MAKING them do something. That said, tonight I want you to do a little more practice on him, alright? Since he's staying with us, we need to help him grow."

 

[AmethystRoze]

Alright mommy. She thought happy that mommy seemed pleased. Though she wondered what she meant by helping him grow. She waited for mommy to help her down, she could've done it but she liked it more when mommy did it.

 

[JessieSune]

A few moments later Balaa has moved you both from the tree and onto her back.

"Let's go for a walk."

The rest of the day passes mostly without event. In the evening, she brings the two of you back to the riverbed.

"Alright, let's rest. You two can play for a bit."

Simon scampers down laughing.

"How about Chase again? I feel faster today!"

 

[AmethystRoze]

"Sure!" she said smirking leaning down on her front two paws. I should probably let him win this time I don't want him to stop playing.
