A Chance For a Second Chance

'Things are about to get even more awkward.' He didn't know what to do, so he just started signing. "I can't talk." Xavier could only hope he understood him. 'Does sign language even exist here? Even if it does, would he know it? Then again, why do I know it?' His head was starting to hurt. So many beings were being left unanswered.

Fai frowned at the man's actions. "Is that a new way to flip people off?" Fai didn't know what the man meant. "Maybe he's saying 'F*** you, I'm not hungry' or something..." Fai furrowed his eyebrows together, trying to figure out what the man said.

"Well, f*** you to." Fai answered back, proud that he learnt the new way of flipping people off. "Teenagers are always making new things up! And they think the adults don't know what they mean!" Fai chuckled to himself in triumph. "I'm still young and hip!" Fai beamed brightly.

((I love Fai xD He seems like such a dork lol))

Gideon blinked and snapped out of the trance he was in. "Woah... That was weird" He chuckled. Gideon heard two pairs of footsteps approaching. Gideon stood up and turned around to see who they belonged to. He was hoping they would go away since he was still being selfish with Lena.

Unlike last time with Xavier, Lena actual noticed the footsteps and pulled away from Gideon to watch for whoever would emerge from the woods. "What if it was a bear...?" Lena panicked silently, hoping that she wouldn't become a bear's meal right after she had already died.

Lena felt a shiver go down her back as she waited anxiously for whoever - or whatever - would come out from the trees.

Gideon hugged Lena protectively "Don't worry, I'll protect you" He said reassuringly. He would have just used a shield but he just wanted an excuse to get a hug. He smiled a bit to himself, he always wanted a smaller female to have a crush on him. Gideon thought this and many moments to come he would be able to use to get Lena to fall even more for him. He did feel kind of bad at him being excited for Lena being afraid just so he could gain her favor.

Oize finally got his belongings back and children were running off out of his way, scampering off to go find some one else to mess with or whatever kids did nowadays. Cloive dusted himself off, adjusted his ears and hat, and continued to walk through the town, when he heard a sailor mouth in the midst of silence compared to a usual town day. He stiffened a bit, wondering what could possibly be happening in a conversation with that.

Annie continued walking straight, not exactly caring where she was going, her head full of thoughts, until one of them stood out and she stopped. Prove you're worth living? This was a second chance. Maybe if she was herself... People wouldn't judge her. Out of all people, some one had given a selfish girl like her a second chance? Annie felt both honored and guilty about the situation.

Lena nodded silently, returning the hug. Her boring blue eyes peered over at the sound as it got louder every step it took. Glancing up at Gideon, Lena felt herself frown a little. "Why is it always me being protected?" Lena thought, feeling somewhat like a burden for the man. "Does he think that I'm high maintenance?" Lena hugged her knees to her somewhat smaller than average chest. Looking back at the noise, Lena forced those thoughts away and focused on not being killed from whatever was approaching them.

---

(Cloive and Annie can come meet up with Fai and Xavier! :D )

Gideon smiled at Lena and kissed her on the forehead "I do not find you a burden nor do I find you high maintenance." He held her tighter, reassuring her. Gideon smirked, knowing Lena would have some kind of reaction to how he basically knew what she was thinking. He kept waiting to see who it was that was approaching him and Lena.

"Wait, what?" Lena covered her mouth, thinking that she may have said her thoughts out loud. "No, I didn't say it out loud." Lena reassured herself, but kept pondering on how Gideon knew what she was thinking. When it hit her, Lena groaned, "Oh hell no. He can read thoughts, to, can't he?" Lena frowned at the thought that her own private space that no one could enter but herself was so easy to invade for the phoenix.

"Aw, that's nice to know, but," Lena tapped her head lightly with one finger. "Could you try not to go there please?" To emphasize what she meant, Lena pictured two naked men in bed doing things with each other, just in case Gideon looked into her mind again.

"I cannot read minds, but I can read people's eyes and their facial expressions. And if you keep thinking about disgusting things like that I won't be your friend... I dislike homosexuality more than I dislike hypocrites..." Gideon said the last part with a stern voice. "I have developed that skill when I was four. My mother always taught me that everyone is capable of amazing things. But very few people find a way to harness what they have." He added with a smile.
Gideon smacked the back of Lena's head. "I don't want you to have those dirty thoughts in your head, I don't like impure people." He told Lena, looking in her eyes. Gideon was opening up to Lena more and more slowly. His guard was down at the moment so he would answer just about any personal question that was asked of him by her.

Lena rubbed the back of her head and ignored the man's comments about homosexuality, she wanted to know more about his mother. "What...what was you mother like?" Lena pictured her mother, who was very beautiful, and tried to recall some sort of family moment they had together. None. Most of their conversations were about the future of the family company.
Fai strolled around town, looking for a good place to eat. "How about Manny's?" Fai asked the man he was dragging along, only to be answered with silence. "No? Okay." Fai frowned, he had gone through almost all of the restaurants in the village, all of them the man was silent.

"My mother?" Gideon asked with a bit of a laugh. "Alright where do I start hehe" He thought for a few moments. "Well, she was very very smart. She never lost an argument EVER with anyone about anything. She was very beautiful, and I'm not just saying that because she is my mom. She was kind and sweet and loving and caring. But one of the worst things you could do is get her mad. Hm what else..." Gideon kept thinking for another moment. "Well she was rather petite, so you can imagine how tough it was to hug her once I started growing" Gideon laughed really hard at the thought of his mom making him get on his knees to hug her.

"She had a great sense of humor. She knew how to cook the most amazing spaghetti!" He seemed a little lost in thought once he remembered the food. Gideon went on and on about his mother, after a bit it seemed like she was better than just about any mother anyone could have. At least that is how Gideon made it sound. "So yeah, that's what my mom was like" He smiled after telling Lena about his mom. The memories calmed him down a bit, letting him relax and think more without getting upset.

Annie continued walking and looking down, not noticing where she was going, and ended up crashing into a boy with blue hair. The sudden stop made her hat slip off her head, as she fell in a sitting position, but quickly reached for her hat and pulled it over her head protectively
Cloive thought that the two boys were interesting, but at the same time he didn't want to seem like a creeper. He shifted his form ibto that of a black rabbit and hopped off, following them, and almost getting stepped on in the process.

"Guh!" Enzo said as a weigh crashed into him, he stumbled waving his arms in circles to gain balance managing to stay on his feet. stepping back on his left foot hard, he straightened and let out a huff before eyeing the girl on her rump,

"Why do most encounters happen this way?" he complained before skimming the girl over with his eyes as he place a hand in his pocket blowing out another breath, as he did, his stomach grumbled with a soft pang of noticable hunger,

Enzo coninued to peer down at the girl, his lavender eyes takening in her features finally he spoke directly to her, "Nice hat."

Lena gave Gideon a soft smile. "She sounds like a great person." Lena tried to describe her own mother in her mind. "Hm. I guess she was intelligent, she did help run a company after all." Lena brought up a few memories of her mother and frowned. Most of them were arguments. She never tasted her own mother's cooking, they had servants for that. Then a thought hit Lena, she never really did hug her mother. "I wonder what she thinks about sometimes..." Lena pondered over her thoughts, her eyebrows furrowed together as she recalled having no touching family moments with any of her parents. They were always out on business trips, or too busy to come to any of her school activities. Lena had barely communicated with her parents all her life.

Pushing the negative thoughts away, Lena lay down and began to daydream about what it would've been like to have parents that she could hug and talk to. The young woman wondered how everything would've turned out to be like if she had talked to them more. "Maybe...It wouldn't have been so bad..." Lena closed her eyes as she imagined coming home from school to see her parents waiting for her at the doorway. A small smile formed on Lena's lips as she dreamed about running towards her parents and gave them a loving hug, which they returned happily.

Annie looked back at the guy, noticing his growling stomach, trying not to laugh. She laughed whenever her own stomach growled. She didn't know why she found the sound so amusing, but she did. "Th-thanks," She says. She remembered that she had thirty dollars in her pocket the day she died, but didn't know if that was the money that was used here. "S-sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going.." She apologised, standing up and stepping back a bit. "If you're hungry, I think I have money. W-would y-you like to get something to eat?"

Gideon looked down and his expression became dark. He could feel that thing inside him churning and moving around. The little monster wanted out and he knew he couldn't hold back much longer. "What if Lena ditches me again...?" That thought ran through Gideon's head. He clutched at his chest and closed his eyes tightly, he felt like he was going to throw up if not for his empty stomach. Gideon fell to his knees and groaned in pain. His eyes widened in genuine fear "I-I d-don't want to.... d-d-" he was cut off by flames engulfing him.

He shouted in pain as blue flames burned him slowly. He kept fighting the creature inside him, hoping no one would find out about what was in him. He dragged himself away, he thought that maybe if he could get away fast enough then no one would be in danger, especially Lena.

Lena's eyes snapped open in shock from the sudden heat. Glancing around the area, Lena felt the warm and slightly charred grass where Gideon had sat. "Where'd he go?" Thinking this was a joke, Lena let out a small laugh to please the phoenix. "Okay, Gideon, come on out." After waiting a few minutes Lena began to panic. Did he leave her because she was being boring? Maybe Gideon didn't enjoy her company after all. Not knowing where she was or how to get out of there, Lena curled up into a little ball and started to cry. He had left her. Just like her parents.

---

Fai frowned at the silent man. "Well? What do you want to eat?" Feeling very frustrated, Fai pulled at his long silky black hair. "Why won't you answer me!?" Fai groaned when the man replied with silence. Spotting a flash of blue hair, Fai randomly ran up to the man and asked him, "WHY WON'T HE ANSWER ME?! I'M STARVING!" Fai gripped the man's shoulders and began shaking him back and forth. ( Roxel )

Enzo watched her climb to her feet, "Welcome..." he blinked at her offer and watched a couple cross the street. Well I am hungry and I am sure I have money....or had it ...did it fall out when that er thing happened, wait! Enzo became visibly frantic as he patted at his pants pockets than back pockets his face twisted as his heart began to pound rapidly, he patted his vest pocket, nothing! "Ooughtiiijhy!" He fummed loudly before sinking to the ground his hands clamped to either side of his head, "I don't want to live a life like this!" he moaned burrying his face in his knees.

Gideon got up and leaned against a tree, he rested there and shouted in pain a bit. He was close enough to Lena for her to hear his shout. He slid down and sat there, fighting the urge to change. He was exhausted and wanted to rest, but he knew nothing good would come of him sleeping. He fought for a little bit but then passed out. The flames died away and he laid there on the ground, unconscious and cold. He wasn't dead, just in a state of comatose. Gideon was completely aware of his surroundings but he couldn't do anything but wait.

((I have to work for about seven hours now packing and doing sh*t I don't like now. Also for reasons I do not wish to say aloud, I won't be on very much anymore >~< but don't completely forget about me! Lol I'll just be rather slow to respond for a while))

Hearing a shout nearby, Lena paused from her sobbing and sat up, glancing around worriedly. "What was that?" Lena asked herself. Deciding that if she stayed in one spot the whole time something would come out and kill her. Again. Following the voice, Lena neared a figure laying on the ground unconscious. "Are you alright?" Lena approached the figure warily. Only to find it was Gideon.

Fai was still shaking the blue haired man, even after he fell to his knees. "Why won't he answer me?!" the dragon joined the sulking man on the paved ground, wishing that the man would talk to him.
Lena rushed frantically to the man and quickly check his pulse. "Oh, thank god!" A faint heart beat was what Lena had gotten. Struggling to lift Gideon, Lena put the much larger phoenix over her back and dragged him back to the clearing, resting him on a much softer ground. Brushing his black hair out of his face, Lena frowned when she felt the sweat on his forehead. "He needs water." was all Lena could think of before running back to the lake and fetching something to refresh the man when he woke up.

Annie didn't know what was going on but she felt the need to comfort him. How do you comfort some one again? "Uh... There there," She said, awkwardly patting the top of his head. "I could happily buy you some food. In fact I was feeling a bit hungry myself, so you could always join me." She thought for a moment before adding, "Hi there, I'm Annie."

Cloize hopped forward, finally catching up, it was hard for the small black bunny to reach them, without getting stepped on. He's obviously mute, you foolish person, He thought, wanting to say it but not being able to because of the state he was in.

"If you say so! Follow my lead," Ace ran to the shelter and ducked inside. Bumping into someone, he turned to find it was Lena, sitting by herself. Though Ace knew this hadn't always been so; she had to have been with Gideon earlier. Or he was hiding outside, waiting to ambush us, he thought to himself. "All clear, Xi; no devil-man! Just... Lena!" He shouted at the 'traitor' girl, not noticing said 'Devil-man's' body, "Where'd he go?!"
