A Chance For a Second Chance

"R-Right," Ace said, a bit suprised at the sudden kiss from her, "I'll move forward, for you, Xi." He looked off into the distance, noticing what appeared to be a city or town of some sort. "Hey, civilization! C'mon!" Ace pulled Xiana forward with him as they began to run toward the town not too far away. "Better have a doctor. My head hurts like hell," He said as he continued to go toward the new-found city.

((I sense romance between Ace and Xiana! xD I shall call is Aceiana!))

Lena nodded and shared the sat near Gideon, wondering why the wooden chair didn't burn into ashes yet. Lena's stomach grumbled loudly, causing the young woman to blush and look away.

"Sorry." Lena giggled nervously. "I'll eat whatever is good." Lena yawned and stretched her limbs, feeling a lot better after her little nap.

'I suppose that fire isn't normal.' The fire wasn't burning a thing. 'Where do I go from here?' This meal wouldn't last forever and he had no clue what to do. He could find a mayor or something, but that was assuming he didn't die again. He had a general idea of what to do, but he didn't have a detailed plan. This situation was tough for one person to handle. He sank further into the chair, hair swaying as he did so. 'What am I gonna do?'

Fai noticed Xavier's distress and asked him, "What's wrong Xavi?" Fai had a little habit of giving people nicknames.

A waitress passed by and placed the food on the table. "Is that all?" she inquired in a high pitched voice.

Fai nodded. "For now, thank you." Picking up the cutlery, Fai began to cut his steak into little pieces, still waiting for Xavier to answer.

Xiana ran next to hi, trying to keep up. Man he's fast. They ran for a bit and finally reached the city. She smiled and sighed, happy they finally were out of the woods. They walked through the streets and Xiana looked around curiously. "Hmm I wonder where we could find a doctor"

Xavier looked up at the question. He grabbed the board again. "Nothing." He didn't want to burden Fai with his problems. After he wrote his response, it made him think. 'Nothing, I guess that can describe me right now. I remember nothing, I have nothing, and I know nothing.' He could only assume that everyone else knew how they died or at least had a clue, but he had nothing to go off of. The only things he knew about himself was that he couldn't talk and had a red eye. Not exactly a good description. 'Did I die happy or did I go with regrets. I guess I'll never know.' Xavier stretched his limbs and sat up properly. 'Not that it matters anyway. I'm dead and that's the end of the story. Nothing else matters.'

A bit out of breath from the running, Ace looked around at where they were. "We could ask the locals?" He suggested, hoping the 'locals' wouldn't turn out to be like devil-man, or the dragon-person he saw back at the lake when this all started. "There's gotta be someone around here that would know." He proceeded to run up to strangers on the street and ask them for directions, but to no avail; they mainly ignored him. Ace did notice something odd about these rude people, though - most didn't appear very... human. "Xiana, maybe you could use your feminine charm on 'em?" He smirked at Xiana, hoping she'd be able to get answers.

Her brow twitched showing she was irritated when nobody would help them. "Feminine charm? Worth a shot, but I don't know if it will work. I'm not that type of girl" she giggles a bit and looks around. She finds a man carrying crates and asks him in the sweetest and nicest way she can, but he says something to her that Ace can't hear. She drops her sweet act and pushes down on the crate with all her force, making it fall out of his hands and drop with a huge thud on his foot as she walks back to Ace. "I tell you these people are creeps" she says as her brow twitches with irritation again.

Ace watched as the scene unfolded, looking a bit concerned when the man said something. Although he didn't hear it clearly, he knew it couldn't have been good if it deserved a crate to the foot. Feeling a bit protective over Xiana, he asked with a mischievous smirk, "Do I have to go beat 'im up for you, Xi?"

"Haha very funny." she said sarcastically. "It would be nice to see that, honestly, but right now we still need to get that head of yours fixed." she smiled at him. Man, when was the last time I smiled this much? Maybe being around this guy is the reason... "Let's go" They walk further through the city until Xiana spots a sign saying Clinic.

(( This RP didn't go very far while I watched a 2 hour movie, but if I play 10 minutes of Oblivion, god forbid that, put 4 pages on my *** xD ))

Darrian grabbed his food and took a large bite out of it. He could probably stuff this then go to his home. It was getting late and around these spots out + late = trouble.

Xavier's head was starting to hurt from all the thinking. He grabbed the board and began writting. "I'm going to get some air." There were too many people here, he was feeling a tad claustrophobic. He walked outside and walked around a bit. He knew where the restaurant was, so he could easily get back. He found a curb to sit on and layed his hands on what felt like concrete. He looked up at the sky and found that he wasn't that different from the one in his world. However, there were some differences. There was more than one moon and the sky was very colorful. It looked sort of like the Northern Lights. Xavier let out a deep breath and closed his eyes for a bit. 'I just need a moment to myself.'

Fai raised an eyebrow at Xavier, but decided to just go along with it. "You guys are new here, right?" Fai dabbed his mouth with a napkin, his plate licked clean.

Lena grinned happily when she saw the food. Saying a quick prayer, Lena dug into the meal provided by Fai. "Thank you for this." Lena smiled gratefully at the dragon.

Xavier looked around and was glad to see there wasn't anyone on the streets. It was a perfect moment. There was a beautiful sky, empty streets, and...five tough looking figures. Xavier got a better look of them, as they got closer. One had fur, another had scales, and the rest just had their faces covered by bandanas. 'I remember enough to know this isn't good.' He ignored their calls and simply stared forward. 'What's the worst that can happen.' Xavier soon felt himself being pulled up by the collar of his coat. 'Oh right, that can happen.' He ignored their ranting about how the were the toughest gang in town and other generic criminal stuff. They didn't seem to appreciate his apathy towards their supposed greatness. He caught sight of the weapons they began pulling out, if you could even call them weapons. 'I die and get sent to a magical universe, but the gangs here use pipes. I thought they would at least have a blade.' The apparent leader seemed to read his thought when he pulled out a small dagger. 'Oh joy. That's more like it. I'm so glad that you could make this more interesting.' If he couldn't use sarcasm out loud, thinking it was the next best thing. As the rest inched forward, Xavier removed the shard of glass from his pocket and held it to the leader's throat. He couldn't give a verbal warning, so this would have to do. 'I wonder why I'm not frightened. Maybe there's something wrong with me.' He wasn't shaking or crying in fear, he simply had the same expression he always wore.

Ace turned to where Xiana was looking, and noticed the sign as well. Walking over to the door, he twisted the doorknob - Locked. He knocked hard, "Open up! Uh, I'm a soldier!" He hoped they would open the door for him; it was a Clinic after all, and he was quite hurt. A sudden force slammed the door open, and Ace grabbed Xiana's hand and led her inside. They were greeted by a tall man in a surgical mask and lab coat, who proceeded to ask them several trivial questions such as "What is the problem?" even when you could easily see the blood dripping from Ace's forhead wound. "Doc, my head hurts like hell. You can fix it, I hope," Ace said to the intimidatingly tall doctor that reminded him of Gideon. Devil-man. That bastard's prob'ly havin' a blast right now, while my head is screwed up. The doctor led them down a hall and into his operating room. Tools cluttered the table, with everything from scapulas to an axe. "Doc, you aren't usin' that on me are you?!" Ace asked, shocked at the sight of an axe in this 'clinic'.

Xiana walked in with Ace, looking around cautiously and examining this strange doctor. When they walk into the operating room, Xiana notices the axe as well and clutches Ace's arm. Is this guy even a 'normal' doctor? She eyed him suspiciously, making sure he didn't try anything stupid as he sat Ace on an operating table. Xiana stood close next to Ace and watched the doctor closely.

The doctor, suspiciously quiet, signaled for Ace to lie down on the operating table, and Ace followed did so. Turning his head to the odd man, he noticed him reaching for a bone saw. "Hey! I don't need brain surgery, dumbass!" He pointed to his bandaged wound and shouted at the saw-wielding stranger. Putting it down, the 'doctor' walked over and examined his head. Turning to Xiana, Ace smiled at her. "Don't worry Xi," He started, speaking loud enough for the man looking at his head to hear, "its not like he's planning on killing me. After all, you can't hurt a Marine; especially not a dead one!" He glared at the doctor and whispered obscene things into his ear, before reassuringly patting Xiana on the head.

Xiana's eyes went wide when she saw him pick up the saw, and sighed with relief when he put it down. She wondered what he was whispering to the doctor, but was too worried to ask. Xiana blushed a bit when he pat her head and looked away so he wouldn't see such a dumb expression from her face. What the hell, when did I become like this? How embarrassing... She kept glancing up at the doctor to check what he was doing.

Enzo jumped a bit in his hunch position when something, a hand and someone, that hat girl, just patted his head....? Enzo moved back a bit looking up at her brows furrowed a mixture of emtions on his face, the promient one being confusion. His stomach grumbled again and he made a face that showed the was fading with hunger, he was not used to being hungry.

Urgh I am starving....and I doubt they take iou's or bankless checks, but I could give them mothers card number...but wait....I don't think that can transfer ugh. well, hat girl did run into me, so buying food would make up for it....yes yes an exchange. Nodding to himself, Enzo pushed himself up arms shaking a bit, he dusted himself off before looking at Annie,

"Aright, I'm Enzo," He held out a hand to be shaken, "Lets go see what we are stuck to eat with for however long we are here."

'Well...that was easy...' Xavier stared at the unconscious figures in front of him. 'Were they really a large gang? They were surprisingly weak. Well, I guess being a different species doesn't make them stronger. Maybe they just use fear.' Xavier calmly walked away and checked himself for injuries. Except for a few cuts, he was perfectly fine. He put the glass shard back into his coat. 'I'm glad I decided to take this. Thank you exploding sign.' He yawned as he walked back to the restaurant. 'I guess I can still make sounds, but talking isn't an option.' Being mute was confusing. He stretched his limbs and looked at the sign labeled 'Manny's'. 'I wonder how long I was gone for.'

After giving him several pills and injecting him with God-knows-what, Ace was able to leave with a clean bill of health. Whatever the mysterious doctor did had obviously worked, and he was feeling pretty good, and happy to get the hell out of that clinic. Before Ace could walk out of the clinic with Xiana, a hand grabbed his coat. Turning, it was the silent medical pratictioner, holding a paper reading what he made out as 'Bill', and a large number beneath. Looking at Xiana, he whispered to her, "Follow my lead." Faking a look of innocence, he played off excuses to the doctor. "You see, I don't actually have any money," he started, having a back-up plan in mind if the doc didn't believe him, which he didn't seem to be. "Plan B, Xi!" He punched the doctor in the face and grabbed Xiana, running out the door in a mad dash to get out before the law enforcement would surely arrive.

Xavier was walking towards the restaurant, when he heard the sound of footsteps. 'More of the gang?' He focused his eyes and was able to identify the two figures in the distance. 'It's those two again. I remember seeing them when I first got here. How did they get here? Did they follow the river as well?' He wondered why they were in such a hurry. Perhaps they were running from something or looking for someone. It was interesting how they all made it here. He had a choice to follow them earlier, but he chose a different option. 'Did I make the right choice?' Maybe he would've fared better if he went with them. 'No use dwelling in it now. Besides, I do better on my I own. I would probably only be a burden.'

Annie began to walk towards the restaurant, across the street, it looked a bit nice, she grabbed his hand and pulled him along with her, liking the smell of the food inside, she stepped inside and saw that the place wasn't too crowded. She let go of his hand and adjusted her hat so that it wouldn't fall off again, just in case. "This is good enough, right, Enzo? Or do you not like places like this?"

Lena was finishing up her chicken when she spotted two people come into the restaurant. They looked very familiar, but Lena just couldn't place where she had seen them before. But, when Lena heard the girl's voice she knew exactly where she had seen them. Limbo. Lena waved them over with a polite smile on her face. "Maybe we can all help each other to get out of this crazy world."
