"That wasn't me, Fayte. He kissed me."

Karma.....Aria, faded back and stared at herself in the mirror, Fayte standing directly behind her. He smirked.

"I know you remember."

The waves rippled in perfect symmetrical order. They were dark and cold looking. He pulled back and brushed his finger tips over the white painted symbol in the corner of the metal beam. Rusted and cold.

Fayte's hand snagged Karma's shoulder and tossed her around to look at him, the gleam in his eyes waning as they narrowed. His breath was cold and fingers even colder as they trailed up her neck and behind her skull.

"It really is a waste for this pretty of a demon not to become a god...." he licked his lips and eyed her neck, "just because of some star-crossed past love."

Karma glared, shivering at his touch secretly. Even she knew he was bad news. And that was coming from a demon.

"Maybe I don't want to become a god anymore." she quitely spoke, instantly regretting it when she felt the fingers clinging to her skull slide to the back of her neck and squeeze. Karma shut her eyes and jerked forward, Fayte closing in on her as he tilted his lips into her ear.

"Kill him or I will. You're choice."

"You haven't come here in a long while Karlisle."

"I saw her today Perticulese... I held her again. Why is she here?"

She had to go back to the bridge.

Fayte had left after his threat and hadn't taken a bite out of her so she was safe for now. For all she knew he'd show up at the

bridge too. But she would have to count on him not doing that.

Her eyes drifted towards the night, and she closed her eyes to disintigrate

----------x-----------

Karma appeared weightlessly beneath the bridge, eyes closed and waiting for Karlisle to speak first.

Karma stared at him, raising her arms to her sides. A black mist formed around her shoulderblades, revealing a pair of beautifully black feathered wings.

"Goodbye Karlisle."

And Karma leapt. Her arms swung at Karlisle's chest

Karlisle opened his eyes. A sharp power sprung from his blue eyes- a flash of light appeared around him. He stared directly at Karma.

"Perticulese!"

Karlisle flung back over the bridge, levitating over the water in the clouds.

"Karma, don't do this."

Karma stumbled in the air as she missed Karlisle, flying in the air across from him. She glanced down at the water, then back at him.

"Give me another option then."

She dove after Karlisle, grabbing for his throat this time.

Karlisle could feel the intense heat emanating from her hand as it sped towards his throat.

Like lightening, in one swift motion Karlisle leapt out of her reach, but barely. Her razor like claws still scraped his neck- blood began to trickle down his skin now. It was warm.

"Now!"

Four misty streaks of light materialized around each of her limbs seizing them tightly- both ankles and both wrists. Perfectly suspended in air and perfectly bound.

Karlisle drew closer to Karma.

"How does this option fit you?"

Karma screamed, the light holding to her wrists and ankles feeling as if they could burn right through to her bone. She threw her weight forward, baring her teeth with a powerful glare to follow.

"Its not my favorite"

With one furious rip in the air, Karma reared her wings and bent them ahead strong enough to burst the hold the binding light had on her. The light dissolved beneath a thick layer of black cloud, karmas wings extending as if to stretch out and conquer as much space as possible. She growled through her teeth, coming at the boy once again, ignoring the tears forming in her eyes.

Karlisle stay motionless as the girl raced to him. His eyes flared wide, icy blue, menacing and terrible.

He felt the blood thicken and congeal all about his throat. A smirk grew over his face. Suddenly, strong arms of blazen light appeared behind Karma. Like vices, these white arms gripped tightly around the girl, bringing her advance to a complete halt.

"Karma, meet Perticulese."

White wings enveloped the sky behind this white being- massive wings with dazzling bright feathers. The being was covered in light from head to foot, and his hair was a thick tousled blonde.

His hands were rich and worn, having done much work in his time. He was massive compared to a demon, especially Karma.

"Hello." He said in a calm leveled voice.

"Perticulese is my friend, and he is pleased to finally meet you Karma." Karlisle brushed closer

Karma felt her heart leap into her throat as Perticulese wrapped his arms around her. The heat of his vibrant aura burned against her pale skin, feeding on her humane flesh enough to make her cry out. Her limbs struggled and kicked viciously, arms pinned to her wriggling sides while she knew all the while she was going to get nowhere. Not with an angel clinging to her this tightly.

She let out a heaving sigh, refusing to give up, as her pitch wings fluttered hopelessly beneath Perticulese's rough grasp. Her eyes grew deeper in their crimson and Karma stared up at Karlisle with a merciless spit of hate while he neared her. She bit back bridging tears and scoffed at herself.

"You'd be DEAD if I wanted it, you filthy human," she licked her lips, shaking her head in a treacherous threat, "I'm going to skin you alive and watch you relive it in hell every damn day of your life!"

"While you do what? Sit on a makeshift throne and play at being a god?" Karlisle was inches from her face at this word— his voice was commanding and sharp. He looked into her eyes and saw such vile hate and desperation for things always out of her control. His eyes grew with compassion now, and an honesty she obviously was completely unaccustomed to. Karlisle stopped and looked around, "Perticulese, it isn't safe here. We need to move." The angel nodded his head. Karlisle set his gaze directly into Karma now.

"Aria Casternova— sleep."

-------------x--------------

My name

A sense of calm rest deep inside her chest. And in a moment, the demon fell asleep.

She barely even had to open her eyes before she discovered she was surrounded by the color white.

Mind racing with haze and head rolling forward, Aria opened her eyes ever so slowly as if that would tone down the brightness of the purity enclosing her. She gazed upon a vast room, spotless white and radiant to anyone other than a demon. Lifting her hand carefully to her head, the girl brushed back her hair and allowed a chest full of air to wisp into her lungs. She took notice to the white chair she was sitting in, a table in front of her of medium length, and another chair across as if she were to be interrogated. Interrogation....something she was oddly and not so fondly familiar with....

Her feet shuffled below her on the pure clean slate surface below her, the floor cold and shocking to the skins first touch. She had to blink a few times to come to complete consciousness, but when she did, her eyes laid upon a figure standing in the far right corner across from her, far away enough for safe distance to be considered, and close enough to be perfectly visible. Karlisle.

Aria shifted in the chair, but found herself weakened somehow to the point where standing was not a viable option yet, so she stayed where she was. Her fingers drummed against the arms of the chair, slowly, like the way she was picking herself up from this sleep.

"Where are we," she muttered almost sounding lifeless, back to closing her eyes for a moment. She sighed, "don't you find it a bit....bright in here."

"Believe it or not, you do get use to it."

The room was spotless and pure through and through. Not a blemish or scratch. Smooth, bright and clean.

"As to where you are— you are somewhere safe." He stepped out of his corner and began pacing around the room.

"Thanks to Perticulese, we won't be interrupted by anyone anytime soon."

"Well isn't that peachy."

Aria stretched her limbs and lifted herself from the chair. She didn't like that he was standing and she wasn't....the power seemed to be in his hands and that was anything but comfortable.

As she stood, a flash danced before her eyes in disguise of a simple blink, and she saw another memory she swore wasn't hers. A picture of her and Karlisle yelling at each other in the midst of a fight...she was throwing something and he was slamming his hand against the interior wall of a small building as if it would cave in and allow him to escape.

The picture went by fast so Aria shook it off as best she could, trying to re-affirm focus on the current situation.

She rest both hands on the table in front of her, propping herself atop of its surface as she stared the boy down. "So what do you want, doll?"

Her head tilted to the side, eyes gleaming in retaliation to the brightness of the room. She knew he brought her here to talk, but was unsure what about.

Karlisle dropped his shoulders, and smiled.

"Doll?" He pulled out the chair and sat down, giving her free reign over the room. "I haven't heard those words in a long time."

Karlisle watched her pace the room.

"How are you feeling?"

"Excuse my un-modern terminology," Aria sighed with a roll of her eyes, managing to not look at him, "Did we really come here to talk about how I was feeling?" She stopped moving when she hit one of the corners of the room.

Another image. Another memory. His hands on her waist, his smile infectious-

She screwed her eyes shut, twisting her head to the side in attempt to ignore it.

"I want to make sure you are okay before we talk." He tried to catch her gaze as she paced the room. "You are safe here. No one is going to hurt you."

Looking up, she let him make eye contact with her. She barely breathed, just staring him down in disbelief. Why could she remember the facts but not the feelings...?

"We have another demon coming after both of us now, so I hope you're right."

"Yes, I'm aware. Perticulese is on duty. He can handle himself."

He looked at her and offered for her to sit down.

"Please?"

Aria looked to the chair opposite him. She hesitated, but found no reason not to sit.

She neared the chair and rested herself down, fingers running along the arms of the chair. He said they were safe....that meant she didn't have to fight right now. It was just a matter of if he was right or wrong. She was going to stick with right for now.

"Please just cut to the chase, Karlisle."

Her voice was harsh and she was short with him. Memories were starting to give her a headache.
