News 5.0 - Style Update

@Wolf Rawrrr We can make site improvements regarding link colors and fonts, but overall the move for this update was to improve the load times. There are a lot of addons the site uses in the background which quietly improve user experience, but they are resource intensive while being essential to the site. If we start padding out the site with custom fonts, images and CSS styling, we are restricting those essential addons with the knock-on effect being longer load times and a general slowing down of the site. That is not to say that, in the future, we can look at reintegrating elements of the older styles if essential site tools get updated and less resource-intensive, but currently we want to try and provide an overall positive experience for all users everywhere.

I agree, this feels more like im working at a job than anything even close to something id do in my free time. It instantly bores me
 
I was so confused for a moment but it loads a lot faster now :33


I kinda prefer the old colour scheme though

Understood, Captain. But right now it just feels too business-like for what was up until recently labeled as "A Nation of Creation".


I'll be thankful for the link and font adjustments, if nothing else *woof*

I mean, I like it but...it feels....like the text is flipping huge and the buttons feel...small? idk I feel smushed now xD
 
I've never had experiences with the former version loading slowly, so I will stick to speaking upon the aesthetics. It kind of reminds me of the first RP forum I went on where there wasn't much to it but the (I think it was) angelfire layout. This is back in the early 2000s, so RPN has a kind of retro feel now.


How I feel about it doesn't matter. How we all feel about it doesn't matter. This is how it is, and this is how it'll stay until they decide to change it again. Essentially, if you don't like it, learn to like it. We're all going to roleplay here regardless of appearances.
 
I can't argue for or against the new loading times be cause I'm a filthy person who uses fiber and 4g connections.

I wasn't trying to be mean, Britt, I promise. It's just the way things are. I like to be honest, and sometimes that comes across harshly, and I apologize.

its okay ;-; its just some of us dont adjust to change as quickly. Like the last change we had, I flipped the heck out and complained but then I grew to love it. but i'm giving this layout a shot, though it does feel a little dark..The light blue was pretty :3 can I also suggest that the search bar on the home screen is connected to the tab when you scroll all the way up? Its kinda just...dangling there xD

Is it possible to have a brighter color scheme later down the line? Is it also possible to maybe make the line between a post and a person's signature a little more defined somehow?

I do feel like everything is in one post like on the home page, like the lines to divide the different places of rp (future, fantasy, etc)

I meant it more as in we won't be getting the old layout back or a new one anytime soon, so we have to make due with what is here now.
 
I love how much quicker the mobile version loads, which is amazing, but I don't care for this new shade of blue. It makes everything looked more crapped and boring. If you lightened the shade, it would potentially fix that problem.
 
A lot faster and easier to use than the previous one, good work! (^U^) I like the changes on the general appearance too, the site looks simpler and more clever, and coordinating has improved. I've felt like late updates have made rpn really difficult and gawky for me to use, so this update is a big relief. I'm not a fan of the color though - I kinda loved it when it was changeable, but in general, this is a huge improvement! ( :P )
 
I reaaaaaaaallllllllly like the new update. It looks a lot more mature and it loads really fast which is a huuuuge improvement cuz I'm so impatient. Great job guys!!
