I like the new site but I have one little irritation about it. I don't like the search bar being on top of my profile picture it is weird... Like when you click on forum and you see it at the top right the box overlaps another box and it looks weird? And idk is there a way to put it somewhere else where it seems to look like it fits?

I would like to thank @welian for all her hard on the update of the site, her task was not an easy one and I know it's something I couldn't have done.
As for the comments many of you have proffered, we do listen and we do take into account things that you liked about the previous layout and things that you enjoy on this new layout.
@Pariah Stark, you are very vocal in your opinions in regards to the new layout and this is what we need, we need to know what about the new layout works for our users and what does not. This helps us when we tweak it. And rest assured, it will be tweaked. I am not sure if you were here for the unveiling of 4 but we went through the same thing. You, and others, have mentioned that the site is too 'corporate', and too 'professional' and that these descriptors are unacceptable in an RP forum. What you, and others such as yourself don't appreciate is that this happens frequently. Allow us to take away the things that eat up bandwith and make it more streamlined. Once we've done that then we begin to return many of the other features that users liked. I know that I really like the crest and it never bothered me how much space it took up. I told @The Dark Wizard this myself, and he wants, very much, to bring the crest back.
What many people don't appreciate is that these layouts are made by your fellow users. We do not hire a team of designers to create and implement these designs. We use your fellow RPers who have a certain skill set that they are either learning on their own time or are improving on their own time. Some of these users who work on the site layout are going to school to learn this stuff. They do this on their own time and are doing the best they can. Offering complaints about how much you hate it isn't helpful and, quite honestly, it hurts people's feelings. It doesn't hurt mine because I had nothing to do with the site layout. But, be mindful of who is doing the work here. I know that Welian has been doing work on the crest to reduce how much space it takes up so that way we can return it to where it belongs, front and center. But, as she said, she's got finals and that will not be something she will be working on for the time being.
I remember that when 4 went live we had the exact same comments we have been getting today: it's too dark, I don't like the load time, it's too this, it's too that. Some user comments were very helpful and it allowed the staff who worked on the layout to figure out how to give you what you want for the price we can afford. Remember, much of what people like does, in fact, cost money.
And one more thing, when Welian says that the conversation is done, she is not saying we don't want to hear how things can be more user friendly, nor is she saying that we don't want to hear about the functions you enjoyed in 4, she is saying that the complaints are done. If you have nothing helpful to add then please don't say anything. Remember what I said about people working on their own time doing this and the potential for honestly hurting people? If you like the new layout, awesome, great, thank you. If you don't like the new layout, well, that isn't helpful. If you think it's too 'corporate' and that this is bad because this is supposed to be an 'artsy' thing that also is not helpful. Telling us that you don't really like the streamlined look of the new layout and you'd like the crest back is helpful.
Now then, my Children, as Welian said, this matter is closed. We all thank you for your replies and we have heard you. However, when you begin to say the same thing over and over again, then chances are, there is nothing new to say. Please do keep in mind that some of the changes you would like to see will, if possible, be implemented... but at a later date. And, to be honest, some things will not be implemented.
Finally, the American Thanksgiving is in two days so, instead of complaining about things that are different, let us be thankful for such a great site, for a great group of people who work so hard to try and make it as good as they know how to make it, and let us be thankful for a place a site owner who really does care about the users of the site and really does care about what you say, think and feel.
