[1x1] To High Seas (DrHuggies & SC)

Kai snarled, "don't EVER, ask me that again!" Kai yelled, throwing his plate against the wall. He then drew his blunderbuss and shot at the wall 5 times, cursing after every shot. He then sat down, face in his hands. It looked likehe was crying, but pirates never cry... do they?

Cassandra stared at him for a few long moments, leaning against the cannon again. "I don't see why you're so upset." she said, taking a bite of her food. "Had I known you were so moody, I don't think I would have asked. And save your bullets, seeing as you're so determined to go and get everyone killed." she sighed.

"Just get out before I hurt you, please." Kai led her out of his cabin and shut the door, locking it he walked over to his chest. From inside he pulled out a small picture of him, a lady and a small female child. A tear dropped onto the photograph. Kai put the photo back inside the box and pulled out a little blanket. The blanket was pink and covered in small flowers. Kai smelled the blanket, it still smells of her, he thought. Returning the blanket to the box he pulled out a small teddy bear. The bear was burnt all over, stained black with soot. No matter how many times Kai tried to wash it, the stains of soot and blood never came out. A memory of a voice came to his mind, "Please daddy, never throw little Booboo away." Kai had promised her not too and even though it was covered in soot and blood, he kept the bear.

After Kai had returned everything, to the box he lay in his hammock and drunk rum until he slept, drowning his sorrows in alcohol.

Cassandra had wandered around the ship for a little while, keeping her cutlass on her -- she certainly didn't trust the brutes on the ship. Then, for a while, she lay in the sun, waiting around for something exciting to happen. When someone spotted a ship in the distance, she was the first to head down to his cabin, knocking on the door. "Are you done your little sulk, captain?" she asked, tilting her head. "A ship has been spotted not too far off. I'm not sure if it's that Jace bloke's ship, but it's a ship."

Kai leaped out of his hammock, and opened the door, ready for battle. He was still slightly drunk but that didn't matter the adrenaline of battle was rushing through his veins. "READY HER FOR BATTLE!" Kai yelled taking the wheel.

Cassandra jumped at his rather sudden liveliness, though stayed near the door of the cabin, raising an eyebrow. After a few long moments, she approached, clearing her throat. "And what if that's just an innocent merchant ship? You shouldn't get so worked up yet. Though I doubt you'd simply avoid them..." she sighed, approaching the edge of the ship and squinting.

"No, you're right," Kai laughed, "I am thirsty for battle and this should be easy for you as well. Perfect little training run don't you think?" Kai smiled at her, another test to see if she deserved to stay aboard his ship.

"Well, if they are just merchants, I suppose so." she folded her arms, adjusting her hat a little. "However, if they are members your apparent worst enemy's fleet, then it would be a bit more than a training run. More like a training gauntlet." Cassandra muttered, pouting and putting a hand on her cutlass. "I might as well have a gun, too, not that I've ever fired one."

Kai threw her one of his spare blunderbusses, "I'll teach you the basic mechanics."

After he taught Cassandra how to shoot the blunderbuss the merchant ship was running away. "Full speed ahead! Don't let 'em escape!"

When the boat was close enough to board Kai lifted Cassandra up with his hand and put her on his back. He then swung onto the merchant ship screaming a war cry. Landing on the ship Kai pulled Cassandra off his back. "All yours sweetheart." He smiled, pushing her forward into the mass of battle.

She yelped as he picked her up and swung her across, and her legs were shaking when they landed on the ship. "I don't think I was ever made for fighting..." she muttered to herself, drawing her sword and narrowing her eyes. "Well, Dolores I am, then..." she sighed, beginning to walk towards the crowd of fighting sailors. Then, she swung, managing to get one of the merchants in the back, stepping away as he fell.

((Sorry having writers block will reply later.))
Kai admired Cassandra as she fought. She was a natural, although she was a 'princess' she was quite brutal, hacking down the merchants. One got a bit too close to her, so Kai shot him in the face with his blunderbuss. "Your welcome," he yelled at Cassandra, who was locked in combat with another merchant.

She flinched when a nearby merchant was shot, though continued to fight, barely paying heed to Kai when he yelled. By the end of the fight, she was even able to shoot a couple men with her gun, and was glad to be off the ship, when they boarded on their own again. She seemed a bit out of breath, but wide-eyed and excited, dropping a bag of what she had grabbed from the ship on the ground. "There, I've done my part." she laughed, removing her hat and running a hand through her hair. "I can only imagine what went through their minds, being killed by a woman!" she glanced over at Kai.

Kai laughed, "probably were too distracted by your beauty," Kai said in a joking matter, at least she thought he was joking when he was actually speaking the truth. Kai opened up the bag to see what she had got. "It's your lucky day princess," Kai admitted, tossing her the bag, "merry Christmas."

She raised an eyebrow at his comment, though began digging through the bag. "Yes, I grabbed whatever was shiny. Seems some of these might sell for a pretty penny. Seems they were trying to sell all sorts of things -- jewelry included." she chuckled, pulling out a necklace and a ring. "Maybe I'll keep some. As little tokens of victory, you know." she smiled, placing what she wanted aside.

Kai walked over to have a look at what he could find. He found a nice big ruby ring. "What do you think?" He asked Cassandra slipping it on his finger. He laughed and chucked it back into the bag. " Now we find a port, sell them for unfair prices, and split the profits." Kai smiled, and winked at Cassandra. He then walked into his cabin and lay on his hammock, resting.

Cassandra nodded, continuing to sort through the bag - in the end, she set aside five pieces of jewelry for herself, putting on one of the necklaces, earrings and rings. She got to her feet when she was done, glancing up at the sky briefly - it was a few hours after midday, and the sun would probably start to set about four hours later, if they kept going in the direction they were going. She straightened her hat, and strode over to the captain's cabin, hesitating briefly before stepping inside.

"So, how did you like that?" Kai asked Cassandra as she walked in. He could see she had kept some of the jewlery that they had stolen.

"Well, it was certainly thrilling..." she smiled, taking off her hat and running a hand through her hair. "I can't say I don't pity those merchants. But they did have some fine jewelry..." she smiled, leaning against the wall. "So, what's the plan now? Keep looking for the captain's fleet?" Cassandra raised an eyebrow, looking over at him.

"Why do you always do that?" Kai asked, getting out of his hammock, "like run your hand through your hair?" Kai laughed.

"Because I don't have a brush and my hair is messy." she said, frowning. "It doesn't help that you cut it poorly, so now I have to make sure my hair looks as good as I can make it. Though I'm usually wearing a hat, anyways..." she shrugged, putting her hat back on and sighing, folding her arms. "I can ask about your habits, too. Like, 'why are you always drinking?', or 'why do you want to put your feet up so badly?'."

"Drinking is for a reason you don't want to know," Kai looked down, "the feet, it is a lot more comfortable with my feet in the air." He laughed, quickly recovering from the moment of sadness.

She raised an eyebrow, before nodding and getting into the hammock, sitting back. "Well, fair enough. What do we do now? At least, what do we do to entertain ourselves? I'm all for napping, but it would be nice if there was something interesting to do." Cassandra sighed, frowning at him. "I was promised an interesting life. At least, one more interesting than the one back home."

"You did just kill a lot of men," Kai laughed, "maybe it is time for another competetion?" Kai asked Cassandra, wanting to see if she was interested.

Cassandra looked over at him, raising an eyebrow. "A competition?" she asked, sitting back. "Well, what would this competition be, then?" she shifted a little, before climbing out and running a hand through her hair. "So long as I probably won't get hurt, then I suppose I'm up for it." she put her hands on her hips.
