Someone suggested me for member of the month. I'm really honored and proud, though I don't think I deserve it. Nonetheless, to anyone who might have done that , thank you!
Ok, I am sick and tired of this "everything is fine" attitude people take whenever anything is put in the discussions forums. Yeah, people have different styles and like different things, everyone knows that. I´ll repeat: EVERYONE KNOWS THAT.
It´s the most useless comment in history and people repeat it like bloody parrots. And not even in situations where it is appropriate. To give you an example, when someone asks for help, telling them "oh , you don´t NEED help" is not a good answer! I´m not even sure it can be called an answer at all, and all it does it confuse and annoy a person who is truly looking for help or to improve themselves.
If somebody says "I don´t like this because" they may have a point. Those "oh, but everyone has their way of doing things" comments are just in the way of people who either want to correct the mistake in the person´s reasoning or who actually agree and want to see a change, an improvement on the general way of roleplaying.
These comments are pointless and condescending, implying the poster is immune to criticism just because they feel like RPing differently. But that couldn´t be further from the truth. Nobody is immune to criticism. Even if the person is right, them being right is still not something that should be taken for granted.
I´m sorry, I had to let that out of my system...again.
It´s funny to think about how be it aliens, alternate worlds, fantasy worlds, hidden secrets, etc... everyone always speaks a human language, and the human race is the only one to be oblivious to the others.
Sometimes, I miss the good old day. Christmas is a heartwarming experience to me, one that begins before Christmas itself. I remember a time when I used to make up some really dumb stories to make my siblings laugh themselves to sleep. I remember a time when studying was about learning and not some competition for grades. I remember a time when time was a matter of enjoying it.
But you know what? Even if I miss those days, I wouldn´t give two cents to go back there. With every choice, every regret I have, every burden that my current life gives me, it´s something I treasure. I treasure the state of things as they are. And it´s not like it was downs either: I am much more open than I once was, have met people I don´t want to ever forget, have joined what must be one of the best communities in the internet. I have learned, met and enjoyed a lot. And I know there is still more to come.
May our three spirits this Christmas be those of past achievements, a welcomed present and hope for the future!
For anyone interested in mystery in any way, I seriously recommend that you watch "Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto Ga Iru!". While certainly not the shiniest or best written thing ever, given the rapid and almost absurd resolution to some side-arcs and the deux ex machina of several events throughout the narrative, the series is an excellent example of a mystery well done, and does so mostly without using crime. However, whether you want to make a typical murder mystery or actually want to pull the strings to originality, this is an excellent show to learn from. It not only actually keeps the proper suspense and causes people to guess it´s resolution again and again without betraying the trust of the audience, but also provides excellent examples of foreshadowing and red-hairings.
There is a lot more I could and would say, but that would involve heavy spoilers and this is a series I feel is best watched without even reading comments or anything beyond the anime itself.
Albeit quite the weak start, the show rampantly becomes absolutely beautiful, ESPECIALLY the music, which really ages well. The ending is a bit convoluted but the anime itself still strikes deep and perhaps even more importantly to me. showcases something that a lot of RPs and even many other great works sorely lack: Respect for it´s thematics, more specifically, the religious thematic. A lot in the show has to do with the idea that gods are actually beings from a higher dimension (this is a minor spoiler, but it doesn´t change that much except thematically, and you will probably have guessed it by ep 2 anyway) than our own and this could create an easy leeway for making what a lot of shows do which is take it under assumption that not only is religion BS but it´s believers deserve mockery. Instead, though, the show takes on this matter with the essential question "does it matter?" , thus reversing the potential negative of lacking respect to boosting consideration.
I am really proud of myself right now. To think that I crafted a functional hypnosis at 3AM in the morning! I´m pretty sure the person probably exaggerated it or did something else that helped the desired effect more than my text itself, but considering the most training I have is a research project I did nearly four years ago, it sorting any effect at all is enough to bring a huge grin to my face.
*my hands slowly reach behind your back. They place themselves in your shoulders and slowly but smoothly climb up, dragged along just an inch above your skin, you feel the simple heat going up and closer to your neck until the fingers seal themselves there, pressuring, creating simple, light, relaxing pressure, relaxing, even more relaxing, dragging down the tension, and you feel tickles, tiny tickles, and the tickles are somehow relaxing, they are in the back of your neck . Focus on the tickles on your neck as my hands climb down, and pressure, they pressure your back and it feels so relaxing, but you barely notice as you just take a deep breath, and let it out right away, you can only think about the tickles, now the air. Where did the air go? Is air flowing in and out of your body right now? You barely notice the pressure in your back as it relaxes, relaxes more and more and you just think about the air, eyebrows getting heavy, heavier, so relaxing , so much you even forget what you were relaxing for in the first place. Yes, tired, but happy, think of smiles. Don´t think of smiles. Think of smiles. Such relaxing smiles. And now...
TMW you realize you spent half your day trying to get down a response but the sheer size of what you will have to write is so overwhelming you freeze...
So, here is the new profile picture. There weren´t really any characters to honor this week , but the sheer cuteness of the cast of invaders of Rokujouma is jaw-dropping and commendable, and since this goes for almost all of them, I´ll just have to use GIFs with all of them XD
