Depending on how well I can come up with abilities tomorrow, I may be able to halt the VRMMORPG to reply to my roleplays. Apologies to all those I've kept waiting I just couldn't bear it to not get at least the basics wrapped up
I have 4 people who saw my really outdated 1x1 search thread and decided to contact me in the last 24 hours... Should I be thrilled or terrified?
They did put in a lot of work in their responses, and it´s my usual policy not to reject anyone unless I´m either offended by them or too overwhelmed to really provide a decent experience, plus they seem like great and passionate people already, something I love but...
I wonder if I can offer them a good experience. I need to think about the subject. I´ll take the time while I finish working on my VRMMORPG to think about what to tell them
I want to talk to someone (like, voice) about the VRMMORPG RP I´m designing, it really gets me hyped and inspired... such a pity the few people I would dare ask or know would also enjoy it are just too busy lately...
is this how my dog feels when I don´t have time to play with her? Poor thing!
So I got an infraction point over something which, once again, nobody made the effort to point out (as in, regardless of giving me the point, just a warning, or none, they didn´t still don´t show me WHERE the infraction occurred). This is an overall very destructive behavior, RPN , and @[835:@Musician] since you were the one giving the infraction point, you may want to see this.
If people are not told where the thing is they did wrong is, or worse, what it is, and instead and just pointed out the rule they broke (do note that in most cases, the person was not aware they were breaking the rules, so they won´t be able to recall any instance when they might have broken it), then that will lead to lenience in adjusting one´s behavior or misguided attempts at fixing it, that may make the problem worse due to the previously explained unawareness of how the problem came to be in the first place. And this is the best case scenario, the worst being that the person will just ragequit the site for feeling like they are walking on landmines.
I, for example, have a feeling I may know what kind of thing got me the infraction point, but given the extent to the rules they showed me, it could be anything from this past week, which was a tense week in which I got in a few fights. I did not know I had crossed the line of site rules, which in spite of going against my every belief for what´s good for humanity is something that I must and will respect for my care for this place and the people in it, and thus will attempt to keep in line as much as possible. But this means that any of those fights could have bean whatever @[835:@Musician] was warning me about. I won´t tag anyone else for fear of starting another fight, but I got into fights defending a friend, I got into a fight where I defended myself against a blatant insult to my person, both to the face and behind my back, I got into a fight with someone who´s mental health I was seriously worried about, and I got into fights which weren´t even actually fights and just consisted of me asking someone "what´s wrong?" and that person telling me to fuck off.
While I do feel justified in each of the cases, which should be pretty obvious by my description of each of those fights, which no doubt have other perspectives about them that I can hardly conceive, at least one has been perceived as a breach of site rules. But here´s the thing: I can´t do anything about it until I know which one. Because depending on it, the kind of behavior I would have to change to would be considerably different. Heck, one of them is something that would seriously make me consider quitting the site, a thought that never crossed my mind in any serious manner in my time here.
In short, there´s danger in not mentioning or linking what the infraction was, together with what is already used, which is the quoting of the rules. That applies not just to my own example, about which I am taking the opportunity to ask, but to a general case.
Ultimately, any rule serves a purpose that is not the rule itself. Since the rules of the site are probably meant for it´s well-being, then improving the way they are enforced would certainly be advisable.
I find it hilarious how sometimes people will just go "I am bored" and then just be super picky about what they want to do about that boredom. If you don´t have those high-quality things to do, either look for them without complaining or be willing to compromise with something that is not as good as the ideal.
I can´t believe this. I´ve strived to not let this get to me, but it happened: For the first time, I put someone on my ignored list. It feels terrible.
I don´t like fighting. I am not competitive, I am not judgmental, I am not argumentative. I won´t deny that I am critical and confrontational though. I won´t deny I get into a lot of arguments. But I don´t do it for the sake of fighting, nor for the sake of hurting nor to make myself look better, but because I truly care about helping people progress and improve. Living in illusion be that the other person or myself, is no state for a human being. And if this sounds all grandiose to you, then it´s simple: it´s my philosophy. A belief isn´t just random nonsense one spews, it´s how one chooses to live. And that´s all the more reason to face it and confront it.
it feels terrible to argue with people. It could be a good experience, it could helpful and feel good, it could strengthen bonds and improve lives rather than doing the opposite, if you people were just willing to listen to each other and to reason.
But you know what feels worse, unbearably worse? To be insulted and threatened by someone who refuses to listen.
If that person happens to see this, here is my stance on confronting other people:
*it´s only worth it to confront someone if both of the parties involved stands to gain something superior to the effort put in. Whether they actually get that or not is irrelevant.
*pre-established examination of both sides should be conducted by the perpetrator of the confrontation, with an attempt to attack their own ideas in the examination process
*the value of a confrontation, in many cases, is the value you give to truth. In particular, for example, it is not advisable to confront someone if you believe that personal feelings are more important than truth.
