Lately, trainers in the Unova region had began flipping and tossing coins into the fountain. It was said that doing so would give a chance of luck at whatever the person goes at next. It's just a saying, but right now, people seem to be counting on it a lot. Why? A new competition had opened up, one relishing in the favor of going against other Pokémon Teams.

A mountain had been stationed for this little challenge. The rules are particularly easy, the first trainer on top wins the competition and is prized with rewards. Except, the winner can only be declared so long their is no other available trainer waiting below. Climbing this peak is not what it's all about, but rather, fighting for the top.

The first instinct a person should have when seeing an opponent on the same level of the mountain slope is battling them, since they will have to later on possibly. But, there are still rules coming here. The maximum amount of Pokémon brought here are the original six, and any healing given by supplies is prohibited. Once a Pokémon has fainted, they are excluded from the competition. If a trainer has no more Pokémon left to battle with, they will be told to head back down. Drones are sent around to watch these 'players' from a distance, an audience actually watching from several other regions.

Battles between two trainers, or maybe three in case so many run into each other, are limited to using two Pokémon in one round (unless you reach the top, it is asked to use a full battle against the opponent with whatever left a trainer has). The person who wins proceeds ahead with an obvious glint of greed in their eyes, while the one who lost lingers on the level of the mountain they're on to wait for a different opponent that is still at rock bottom.

The mountain, though steep, has several cliffs and ledges that can give enough space for battles. Though danger might come, it is expected that trainers have no fear of what they go through. Flying type Pokémon that can help with getting to the top first is not allowed, however if someone fell, the Pokémon is allowed to sweep down to catch the trainer.

[This is a non-existent mountain since I honestly don't find any real one fit for this. This is a mountain in the Unova region, for the sakes of the 'wishing well' part]

I am only accepting a maximum of one character sheet of a trainer from you, to limit interest check. No mythical, legendary, paradox, etc, Pokémon are allowed, but I can slide in one Pseudo-Legendary allowed for each trainer (if so-and-so prefers to have one on the team). Further on, Pokémon are not allowed to be repeated, meaning if someone has a Blastoise, you cannot pick it again. Other than that, your team is your choice, and I will accept it so long this is followed.

Reserving Pokemon beforehand is allowed, and you may do so while you post your interest. It will not be accepted for a reserve if you give me a direct message (unless you already have me in a convo, that's fine), because I will leave those messages the second I can. Saying forwardly will let others right away know what is reserved. Though, I will have a "RESERVATIONS" post below or somewhere.

Mega evolutions are a question. I would permit one mega evolution per person. I would rather refrain from these unless the battles are getting too heated, and the opponent concedes to your deal. Battles should be finished with one declared winner through either a fair trade of damage done to one another, or just a natural agreement OOC.
Even if we flip a coin...

it already is listed in the interest check that I'm okay with megas, plus you have a Mega Gyarados, so...yeah.
Z moves are not allowed for this competition ❌
 
Including this before anyone asks later on, Pokémon movesets will be limited to 8 moves each.
 
Yay!! Super stoked to see the OOC. I've been playing around with different ideas for my character and so far I've narrowed it down to a) an Alolan trainer who joins the competition because wants to use the prize money/potential win to prevent her family's business (a berry farm) from being closed down or b) a valley girl who just, like, really likes to hike! Just here to have some fun!

So far I came half prepared. Typically "he" has his parents divorced so he can't really find his happiness, so when he stumbles across the mountain climbing competition he thinks that even participating would give an amount of luck. (All participators for the competition are rewarded with a small amount of Poke-dollars since they had simply decided to join in on this event, and risked their own energy.) In his childhood he had began to get close to someone...but then they disappeared! So now he's looking for them. Which is also a part reason why he's entering this thing at all.

OOOH nice nice! He sounds like an interesting character (especially if he gets clues about what happened to his childhood friend sobs). I might have to adjust my character's motivations a bit if the prize is only a small amount of Poke-dollars 😂 but I'm sure I can make it work! Who is his starter pokemon?

oh no-the participants get a small amount even if they don't win (for the sake of participating), and winner gets a large amount obv.

mimitchi mimitchi catching Pokemon on the mountain is fine - due to the pole weighing that way. But only include Pokémon that would actually make sense to be at the mountain.

suppose you'd just have to bring up the pokemon you want to catch and see if I'm okay with that
I was saying reasonable distance such as if someone wanted to catch an Incineroar. I can ensure you are not going to find that there-It's too out of the blue. Rock type Pokemon could be an easy slide, it just depends on the nature of the 'mon.
