Blaize: I'd never dueled like this before... but yeah! Let's duel! You're gonna pay for this!

Although terrified of what might happen if he loses, he readies his deck to battle for his life.

Shaman: You might be thinking as to why I'm doing all of this.. and the answer is simple.

The stone at the end of his staff glows with a white light. Suddendly, Chris collapses.

Shaman: I was chosen from my tribe to live on, harnessing the power of this crystal to convert people's souls into life energy. I've lived through centuries. Win and you'll not only get to live, but I'll return his soul too.

He completes shuffling his deck, and sets down his cards.

Shaman: My cards are old. Taken from duelists over the ages. Every time my odds of losing decreases. *grins and looks up* but that's part of the fun, isn't it?

Blaize: Chris! You greedy gramps, I'll make sure you don't win this time! And no matter what happens I'm gonna win!

With that, Blaize shuffles his deck and sets it down.

Blaize: Well, okay then...

Blaize draws his starting five cards. He keeps a poker face to hide any hints of what he is doing.

Blaize: I set two cards face-down. Your turn...

Shaman: Heh.

He draws a card.

Shaman: First I'll set a monster in face-down defense position and set these two other cards in my spell and trap zone.. And end my turn.

Breathing a sigh of relief to see that Shaman hasn't attacked yet, he draws a card.

Blaize: I set this monster in face-down defense position. Again, your turn...

So far uneventful, Blaize wonders what could possibly be in his old deck.

Shaman: First, I'll activate the field spell Magical Citadel of Endymion! Every time a spell is activated, I add a counter to this card. Now, I tribute my Skilled Dark Magician in order to summon my mighty Dark Magician! I attack with 2500 damage your face down card!

Blaize: Oh no your'e not, I activate my trap card!

Blaize: With this, I reveal my face-down monster, if it is a Ghostrick, your Dark Magician goes to face down.

With that, Blaize reveal a Ghostrick Mummy by putting it in face-up defense position, 1500/0

Guess which monster is face-down now?

Blaize: Sure thing, I use my other trap card, Ghostrick Night!

Blaize: As long as I have a Ghostick face-up in the field, you're Set monsters can't be flipped summon! You may now continue your battle phase.

Darius Serulias "..." As the midmorning sun slowly slides across the clear-as-crystal sky, the front half of a small skiff gently bumps into the sandy shore of the island. Draped across its front is a washed-up man, early thirties, with a small beard growing in the form of stubble on his face. It's obvious he's been out to sea for some time, what with the soft sunburn he had across the backs of his hands and neck. A water-proof bag, bulging with apparent materials is settled on his soaked white jacket. He groans softly, before cracking his eyes open.

"Land...?" He questions, sliding off the head of the skiff, collapsing in the sand, and coughing water out of his lungs. "Land! Wahoo! I-I reached land!" He cried, leaping to his feet, pounding his hand in the air. However, his enthusiasm didn't last. "But... just where am I? This doesn't look like that resort I was headed to..." He frowned, taking a step, before nearly collapsing. It appeared he was still weak from his time at sea. He was dizzy too, as he grabbed a long length of wood, and began using it as a walking stick. With that, he hobbled into the jungle, seeking shelter from the blistering sun overhead.

Shaman: Alright. I draw. First, I activate Mystical Space Typhoon, destroying your trap. I can't attack for this turn, but that is fine. Next I set a card in my S/T zone, and flip over my Dark Magician to attack mode once more! Now I activate my set card, Mage Power, and equip it to my Dark Magician. Finally, I end my turn.

Blaize: Destroyed my trap and made Dark Magician have 3500/3100? That's quite a lot... but let me try something...

Blaize draws a card from his deck. He scans what he could do to stop him Shaman He was quite hard to beat really but he shouldn't be giving up.

Blaize: I activate pot of greed, which allows me to draw two cards. *Draws 2*. Hmm...! I summon Ghostrick Ghoul.

latest
Blaize: With it, I can empower my G. Mummy's ATK which is equal to all face-up Ghostricks I have in the field but making only Mummy the only one to attack this turn. I also activate Axe of Despair, equipping it to Mummy to give an additional 1000 ATK. I attack your Dark Magician!

Darius Serulias The soft undergrowth beneath Darius's boots crunched softly, their life evident since the cracks weren't brittle sounding. He was thirsty, and dizzy. He knew he had water in his pack, but given that water was such a rarity, especially on deserted (he assumed) islands like these, he was hesitant to use any water that he had in reserve. He would be better off exploring, searching to see what exactly he could find.

And sure enough, his searching rewarded him. "A crashed plane...?" He croaked, wiping sweat off his brow as he hobbled over to the crashed flying machine. A quick search proved fruitless, as the site was stripped clean of any goods he could use. Growling to himself unhappily, he cocked his head, looking around for anything else. And, sure enough, his eyes landed upon a long-settled temple. Interesting, he thought to himself, as he hobbled over, preparing to explore it. He always loved ruins like these- this was why he traveled. In his travels, he'd learned much: history, different languages, survival skills, and lots of other things.

But the one thing he never learned how to do was open locked doors without a lock. He frowned, glaring at the large stone tablet that blocked his entrance into the temple. Well... now what? Were there any windows? Maybe if he climbed, he could find out...

"They've been gone for almost a day, perhaps they ran into trouble in the woods," He thought, trying to imagine all the possible fates Chris and Blaize could have met. "well i suppose sitting around here wont do any of us any good". He rose from his resting place under a tree he had found and turned towards the forest that led further into the island. "Maybe they found food and simply neglected to come get us". He quickly glanced back at Micheal, and walked into the woods.

At first his search proved fruitless, finding nothing but trees and what seemed like hundreds of bugs, though he was impressed by all the different flora on the island, he decided not to let it distract him, at least for the time being. After over an hour of searching the woods, he stumbled across a temple of unknown origin. It seemed to be well made, and posssibly could have served as a shelter. "Perhaps they decided to take residence in here for a little while," he thought to himself as he made the decision to descend further into the temple, still trying to imagine why Chris and Blaize had not returned to the beach before the days end.

With the water up to their waists, Shaman's drain unplugged, locking him in place.

Shaman: Im-impossible! I lost?!

Blaize's cuffs unlocked, along with Chris, who slowly started to wake up.

Darius Serulias "Quite a beaut', ain't she?" Darius said, a large grin on his face, as he nodded to the other stranger at the temple. "Dunno how long she's been here- after all, I haven't seen the inside, yet." He looked back to the temple, furrowing his brows a bit. "It's odd, though. Usually slabs of stone like this-" he jabbed a thumb at the slate tablet that was preventing him from getting inside. "-have crumbled by now, thanks to years of being in the weather. And yet it's ripe as rain, mate." He frowned a little, prodding the rock with his little finger. This really was odd.

"Well, no use trying to talk to rocks anymore, humph!" he grunted, shifting his weight around, and stumbling over to the other chap at the temple, Darius leaning on his walking stick quite a bit. "Good to meethca! Th' name's Darius. Yourself?" he asked, extending a hand to the stranger, a winning smile on his face.

@Yoshi

"It is quite beautiful isn't it?" Rory turned to the new figure standing near him, obviously another survivor from the crash. "My name is Rory, its nice to meet you as well and..." he stopped for a moment, wondering if it was a good idea to ask the new man, who could very well have been the cause of the disappearance of his friends. After thinking a moment, he finally decided to ask. "Have you seen two other boys come through here? They came into the forest yesterday and have yet to return," He asked Darius, still weary of the new man, however Rory had decided that he seemed trustworthy enough. He reached out an accepted the mans handshake, and he too smiled.

Suddenly, he felt the ground shake beneath his feet, the temple shaking back and forth, looking like it could collapse at any moment. He turned to Darius "We should probably get back a little bit, the temple may very well be coming down soon," he spoke, seemingly calm at the entire situation, though he worried about the possibility that his friends could be inside the temple at that moment.
