Your Guardian Angel

The angel smiled, despite the fact he could only throw one away. That was progress though, and she was happy with that. And so, she couldn't help put pat his head slightly. "See? Even that is progress. If you feel like you can throw more away, try. If not, we'll get there." Penelope assured him, sitting down next to him on the couch. "Thank you, for letting me help you."

Fredrick smiled softly. He was glad to have her here to help him. "Thank you. I don't know anyone that would be help me with this." He said softly. He really couldn't find anyone that would do this.

There was something that she hadn't really asked yet, although she was super curious about it. Especially after he assured her that no one else would help him with such an important and life-threatening thing. "You don't have to answer me if you don't want to, Fredrick, but I do have a question. What about your family? Where are they?" She asked, ready to drop the subject if he wasn't ready to talk about it.

Fredrick took off his glasses and he wiped his eyes. Trying to hide the tears that were forming. "I don't know... I haven't seen them for almost three years." He said softly. His parents was still a touchy subject to him. He put his glasses back on a moment later and he sighed softly. "Can we talk about something else?" He asked her.

Seeing his reaction, Penelope couldn't bring herself to push him on the subject. That was alright though. She wasn't here to make him miserable. She was here to help. And so, when he asked her if they could talk about something else, the angel nodded. "Of course. You don't have to tell me anything you don't want to. I think I have asked you enough. If there's something you want to ask me though, I'll gladly answer." The angel assured him, smiling as she remained seated next to him.

Fredrick nodded. A few moments later he thought of something. "If you don't mind me asking, but how did you die?" He asked softly. He wanted to know how she got here. And he was wondering if anyone can become a angel. From the look of her, the afterlife didn't look too bad.

Truthfully, Penelope was expecting the question. After all, what was more interesting about an angel than the way they had died? Aside from the whole heaven thing, of course. "It's okay, I don't mind. I was walking back from the supermarket towards my apartment. All of a sudden, I heard screaming. Like a child. When I turned, I caught a glimpse of a small boy trying to get away from someone. Before I knew it, the boy disappeared into the alleyway. I don't know why I didn't call the police but I thoughtlessly ran towards the alley. Sure enough, I saw the same boy trying to get away from a man. I tried to get in the middle, give enough time for the boy to run. I was only able to catch a glimpse of the knife but before I knew it, I was in heaven. And...that's how I died." Penelope finally finished. And although she wasn't overly bothered, it was still kind of hard to talk about her death. Mostly because of the family she had left behind.

Fredrick nodded slowly. "I see. I'm sorry to hear that. Do you live in this town?" Maybe she did live here in her previous life. He mostly wanted to know more about his angel.

The angel shook her head, indicating that it was fine. Everyone had to die at some point. "No, I used to live close by though. The next town over." She said, wondering what had happened to her apartment. Or her family. Either way, she could at least say that she was happy and at peace in heaven.

Fredrick nodded. "I see." He stood up and he headed to the kitchen. He was hungry for some food. He had no idea on what to eat though.

The angel stayed seated as Fredrick went to the kitchen. She guessed he wanted to eat something. "So, if I may ask, what are your plans for today?" Penelope asked, wondering what they would be doing. After all, the young angel had nothing to do besides follow Fredrick and make sure he wouldn't get into trouble. Whether that meant drug related trouble or doing something he shouldn't, Penelope was going to be there.

Fredrick rubbed his head, thinking about his plan for today. It was hard to think straight when the heroine was still in affect. "I think I was going to the skatepark for a little bit, then go to my friends Toby's place for a little bit."

OOC: So sorry for the long wait. From now on my responses might take a little while, as I'm going back to school soon.

"I see. You do know I have to come with you, right?" The angel asked, looking around his apartment as she sat on the couch. He really did keep it clean. And yet, the fact that he lived alone made her want to know what happened to his family. Technically, she could find out. A simple touch on his forehead and the angel could find out anything she wanted about Fredrick. That was, among may others, a privilege of being an angel. Nonetheless, she decided against it. That wouldn't help Frederick in the slightest. Plus, it wouldn't be a good idea if she wanted to gain his trust.

Fredrick nodded, he figured that much about his guardian angel. "It's not like anyone else can see you, like you said." He said with a shrug. "Planing on going in a few minutes." He said before he shook his head, he needed to clear up his foggy mind.

That's alright, school tends to be controlling when it comes to our free time. I know it all too well.)

"Ready when you are." Penelope said with a smile as she got up from the couch. "Are you okay?" The angel asked as he shook his head. She really wasn't sure what he was feeling with all that heroine in his system.

Fredrick looked at her and he smiled weakly. "I'm ready." He said softly before he tried to walk over to his skateboard, but he fell down on his butt. "Or maybe not."

Once he fell down, the angel walked over to Fredrick and offered her hand. When he took it, Penelope helped him get up. "Are you sure you're in shape to go out?"

"Does this happen everyday?" The angel asked curiously. In no way did she mean to judge. Penelope just wanted to know how often this happened. It worried her, to tell the truth. And although she could easily take the drug out of his system, Penelope wanted him to realize how much it affected his life. If it became bad enough, then she would do something about it.

Fredrick shook his head slowly, "Not usually. I'm usually alright." He should know that since he has a super high tolerance to heroine since he's been doing it for around five years. He leaned against a wall and he tried to breathe. "But it's like this is different stuff then what I normally have."

The moment Penelope heard his explanation, worry began to spread, visible in her face. That was yet another problem with drugs. The buyer never really knew how pure or relatively safe the drug really was. With a worried sigh, the angel got closer to Fredrick, putting her hand on his head gently. A gentle white light started to spread from her hand, slowly taking the drug out of his system. When it was finally out, Penelope took a step back, hoping Fredrick felt better. "How do you feel now?" The angel asked with a worried tone.

Fredrick gasped softly as he felt the light touch him at first. He felt a new wave of energy flow through his body, and it felt... Great. He opened his eyes afterwards and he smiled softly. "I feel... Great." He said softly. He stood up and he stretched his back and legs.

Penelope smiled, quite glad that she had been able to help him. "All I did was take the drug out of your system. You can feel this great everyday, if you wanted to." The angel said, hopefully stressing the fact that if Fredrick were to try and quit his addiction, his body could, at some point, feel that great again. "And be careful next time. You never know how pure the drugs you're buying really are.

Fredrick nodded. "I-I'll make sure to do that. But my dealer always gives me the purest heroine there is, it's always the same for the past four years, I don't know why it would change now." He said softly. This made him worried on the inside. For good reason.

"The fact that it was dangerous now makes me worried Fredrick. Did...something happen?" She asked. With that kind of power over Fredrick, his dealer could easily kill him. One 'accidental' delivery from his dealer and Fredrick could be dead by the next day. The only reason, aside from truly accidental, for Fredrick to have felt like that seemed to be that his dealer purposely gave him something lacking in purity.
