Fantasy Worlds Apart Together

Happy Red Mage

Red Mage Extraordinaire
The world has fallen...I'm kidding! We aren't going to start of with that! It's cliched and overused! *clears throat*

Once eons ago, there was a child. He was a very special child who was tasked by the divine with a job. To watch the worlds and record their history. He did so without question, writing down everything a world has to offer. After which he would move on to the next world and repeat again and again until the end of time. He was named Era because he was there when empires rose and fell, a sort of 'end of an era'.

Time went on and he grew older by a year for every 1000 years. He continued to watch the worlds, recording everything as he was told to do so, never stopping. Then, after 20,000 years he suddenly stopped writing. He looked down at the world, specifically, one girl. She had been trapped by a fire created by arsonists and she was screaming as the corpses of her family surrounded her. Oh how his heart ached as he watched and couldn't stop his eyes from doing so. He hesitantly reached for her image, wishing to be able to do something.

His heart reached through the void and touched the girl. The girl felt someone hugging her, shielding her from the fire. She looked up to see Era, smiling through the pain as he scooped her up and carried her to safety. He disappeared soon after, but little did they know that this was only their first encounter, the beginning of an eternity.

12 years had passed since that day. Barely a blink of an eye to Era. He continued his duties of recording. The divines had reprimanded him severely for his action. He had saved someone that had no future. They said it was cruel for hi to prolong her existence and that they will be correcting his mistake soon. Reminded of the little girl he looked at her world and was shocked on what had happened. Their world had developed tremendously. Majority of the world was magically talented and the meager few who had no magic were persecuted for being imperfect. He found her hiding inside a building, she had become a beauty over the years and looked to be around his age.

Neru, he heard them shout her name. They were after her? He wanted to intervene. He needed to intervene. He watched as they slowly cornered her with their magic. She had closed her eyes, accepting the fate that lied before her. A loud ripping noise was suddenly heard and a small silver ribbon ripped through their ranks before wreathing itself around her. Era smiled as he saved her once again and was willing to take the divine's wrath for her.

There were many more times that this happened, Neru would be in trouble and Era would save her. However the most significant one is their last. 70 more years passed and Neru was on her death bed, she had lived a good life and adopted many children. She never married for she knew her heart belonged to the mysterious stranger that was always there for her. As she lay dying, a loud ripping noise broke the silence and a crying Era stood next to her. She gave him a his first, and last, loving smile before passing away.

Era, overcome with grief, fled to his home. With her death, an empty feeling had come over him. The divines tried their best to comfort him and try to make him return to work but each time they were met with failure. He became obsessed with finding another her and so passed another 10,000 years. He decided to combine all the magical worlds together and make his search easier. Worlds would become nations. He succeeded but with it came an ultimate price, his immortal life.

Now someone seeks for the destruction of the other nations. They call themselves Breakers, a group of villains with terrifying powers. They want the world to themselves, they want to restart it and reshape it in their image. The world needs heroes, will you answer its call?

This is how this place came to be...

(I'll make a map soon but the story starts at the Festival of Heroes in Kul' Ellna Village, it is a yearly gathering for heroes or hero aspirants where said people share stories, trade loot and basically anything.)

Rune sighed as he looted another dragon. Everyday was the same from him, get lost, get in trouble, Will of One the trouble, win and loot them. He couldn't help but feel that he was missing something. Quicksilver gently returned to him from the dragon's corpse and wrapped itself around his wrist. He knew it was risky to travel alone. While he was confident with his abilities he knew that he couldn't take on a Breaker if he ever encountered one. "Enough of this, I have to return to cooking for the festival." He said to himself as he packed the various meats he collected in his trip and bagged a fair amount of gold. He looked at the dragon corpse a last time before using Quicksilver to extract strips of flesh from it. He liked dragon bacon after all.

A Wolf Among Sheep (baaa)

He didn't dare linger long, not among the weak, the sheep and the ones who deemed themselves heroes. Ferai was hungry though and even though it was a risk passing through this place, it was easier than anything else he could be bothered trying to do for food right now. Pretending to a sheep was easy enough, as long as he didn't stop for long. He dropped some coin on the counter in exchange for a large hunk of meat on a thick skewer and headed out of the village hastily, those sensitive to the aura Breaker's naturally had shivering and staring as he passed. Thankfully, none of them dared to do anything against him.

His feet, clawed and always bare, left prints in the sand as he headed down to the beach. The ocean was nice and blue, he liked blue and the waves were interesting to watch. Also, he had some idea of what was going on in there now. As the fox-eared male tore into the meat, he made sure he wasn't being followed and took a longer way down to the beach. It was safer this way, he knew at least one of their group would be down there... he'd forgotten where the meeting place was so that would do for now.

Lani was hiding behind some jagged rocks near the shore the ocean, counting her money, muttering to herself. Her black cloak and hood his her face and body. You could only see her pale arms, chin and ankles. Her pink lips moved in a rhythm. She heard multiple sounds near by but not that close, so she wouldn't look up.

What was between all of these things was the void. The cosmic fibers that held it all together. Sure humans were made up of flesh and blood and bone, lots of elements to make everything up, and atomic binding to hold it all together, but when you got down to it, deep down into the very core of what held the universe together is was something else, and the negative of that something else, was The Void.

With a start Ezra's eyes snapped open, the screams had started up again, they were still quiet, but he knew, deep down inside, that that would change soon.

"This isn't Fair!"

He laughed aloud, but no sound came out.

A sob issued forth from between his lips, but still, there was no sound.

Ezra tried to draw in a breath, but there was no air to be inhaled.

He realized then that he was not where he had gone to sleep, or actually, rather, where he had gone to sleep was no longer physically existent. With a shudder, he looked down at the planet, the world that caused him so much pain, his eyes glazed over with anger, hatred, and sorrow for what he had come to realize that he had to do. He shivered as the void wrapped it's protective embrace around him, because as much as he controlled the void, it was a part of him. It did thing's for him that even he did not know needed to be done. As the bubble of the void wrapped around him, he found himself falling backwards into it's neutral embrace. For within the void, there was no heat, there was no cold. There simply was. He closed his eyes and the bubble burst, sending out a shock-wave in all directions, that expanded for fifty meters before dissipating. Any energy sensitive being would have felt it, anyone looking up, would have seen the stars momentarily go out where Ezra had been in space.

As though working in reverse, the void set Ezra gently down on the planets surface, his eyes still black from the embrace of the void slowly returned to their normal deep blue as he reviewed his surroundings. Back on soil.

Back on the world he hated so much.

Back on the world he loved so much.

Ezra clutched his head as the internal battle started again.

"It was almost like a split personality..." He muttered, his silky smooth voice echoed out to no one particular.

He shuddered as he heard his own voice, it wasn't often that he even bothered to speak, so his own voice nearly shocked him. With a sigh, he knelt down, and placed his right hand's fingertips against the ground. He closed his eyes and sent a tremor out in all directions. To him, it was like radar, he could see everything for up to a ten mile radius. Ezra could feel every living being within his range, and if need by, directly assault anyone within that area with void energies.

"But what's the point, once you've refined the energies enough, you'll be able to wipe them all out at once."

Ezra spun on the unseen voice, he knew it was in his head, but that didn't keep the paranoid thoughts out, that he was being watched.

It also didn't keep him from screaming at the top of his lungs, "Enough!"

As it had, so many other times, the voices dulled for a moment, then regrew, causing Ezra to groan out, "God's be damned..."

With a shudder and a sigh, the still present parts of his humanity tugged at him. Hunger, Thirst, Fatigue, and the want to be clean were all very relevant in his mind. He sighed and began trudging towards what he expected was a town. He'd only seen the edges of it as well as the road that ran into it. As he walked towards it slowly, he began to hear more screams, more cries for help, and further prayers to uncaring gods. Every step towards those sounds made him want more and more to obliterate the entire world he stood upon. Ezra laughed quietly as he trudged along. To any bystanders, he'd seem crazed, in need of help. To anyone sensitive to energy... He would be a walking void of nothingness.

((OOC: Sense him, see him, whatever, Doesn't matter. Results the same.))

It didn't take too long for Vasilias to find himself at the beach near the village.

The salty sea called to him, not verbally though, it just...well he came here to just have fun. Even as a Breaker or whatever people call villains these days, they also need to take a break(er). He found a secluded sandy spot and started taking off his gear, removing his goggles first then his crimson hoodie/jacket and shirt underneath. He left his jeans on though, it was an odd habit he had.

Feeling fresh without his top-half being covered, he grabbed his goggles and returned them to their place on his head. He didn't leave his weapon by his clothes, since unexpected things can happen, after all. Vasilias couldn't help the grin on his face from spreading as he sprinted towards the shiny, blue water. He raised a hand a small pillar of water rose up and he leapt onto it. Surfboards weren't his thing, plus they cost money. 'Though, it's easier to surf waves on a surfboard than like this.' Vasilias thought as he balanced himself on the pillar. It did take longer than he expected to properly master this technique, since it is just a force of water pushing upwards and it wasn't stable and solid like a board.

Nonetheless, it still provided amusement to the Semblancer. Vasilias slowly raised himself as he felt his balance start to get better and he found himself surfing. With his palm facing forward, the pillar of water started to move, slowly at first but gaining speed. He felt the breeze rush pass his face and his grin still plastered on his features. Some of the sea water was getting into his eyes so he used his free hand to pushed his goggled down onto his eyes. Even with free time like this, he had to remember he was here for a reason. But it didn't matter right now, because-

"Who the hell would care if evil took a break?" Vasilias shouted as he raised both hands up in the air. The pillar of water stayed still and suddenly erupted towards the sky, causing it to become a taller pillar of water.

Rune had arrived in Kul'Ellna he could see that he had to work quickly. He lit a large fire in the center of the village and surrounded it with rectangular tables, creating an enclosed space. He brought out his ingredients and whipped out Quicksilver.

"Mushroom stew." He announced to himself as he tossed up the ingredients into the air. Quicksilver lashed out and danced through the air, cutting them into pieces before falling into a cauldron in the fire. He worked on it until its delicious smell wafted througout the village.

"Various roasted meats." He said as he tossed those up as well and followed up with a wooden spear that pierced them, he gently put it in the fire, making sure to turn it slowly. The village baker approached bringing a basket of bread. He pointed at a table and the baker placed the basket. Various other villagers brought food and started to place them on the table until pretty soon the tables were teeming with food.

Just in time, it looks like the visitors have started arriving.

Raven's eyes flickered at the target. Her hands lightly placed at her sides and she quickly pulsated, allowing quick movement to her arms as the throwing knife struck slightly to the left of the target. "Dammit!" She growled, kicking away the rocks near her before throwing one over into the water, a lengthy distance to be exact. Raven studied again, and this time her actions were far more rapid, and the result was the knife deeply centered within the Bull's Eye. "Awwwwwww yyyeeeeeaaaaaa."

Her audits flickered around. That feeling, the feeling of a long lost Foe that is yet to destroy the last Prophet, is watching you. She retrieved the knives, and began to practice again without a doubt.

Lani peeked from the rocks to see a huge pillar of water, arising into the sky, her jaw fell open. A fine being the man was, doing something like that. Also he was surfing without a surf board! She was so amazed, she almost dropped her money. "Hmm. Maybe he could help with training!" Her stranger anxiety kinda takes over... But she eventually gets up and jogs toward the man. "E-Excuse me, Sir!" She said, stopping slowly at shore, watching him surf, she shouted, "SIR!"

@VolcanicMagma

Before he could reach the clouds, Vasilias quickly lowered his palm so it was facing downwards. The pillar of water

lowered and slowly returned to it's original height. Sea water was running down his goggles, slightly blurring his vision with drops.

A shout came from the shore and Vasilias turned his head to the direction of the voice. What a shame, he was having a pretty good time. Hopefully it wasn't something or someone that was preparing to attack him.

Raising his hand again, he re-directed his wave of water near the shore to where the voice came from, a young maiden with long, flowing brown hair. Vasilias pushed his goggles upwards so they were off his eyes.

"What, what is it?" Vasilias responded, as he gazed at the interferer of his fun-time.

@Sandra

"I'm so sorry for interrupting your..uh, surfing. But I was wondering, can you train me? I mean- like.. You're powerful.. and you're a very powerful Mage who can control water, I'm a sort of powerful Mage who can control lightning, maybe, you can help with um moves on the battle field with magic or hand to hand combat? You are built up pretty finely. " Lani blushed at her last sentence. Her eyes widened and she stuttered, "N-No! I meant- uh.. See, I don't mean you're scrawny!!! I meant. You're really strong looking and stuff,.. And... Stuff...." Lani sighs and covers her face with her hands, her face hot and red underneath, she whimpered out, "N-Never mind..." Lani started to walk away,

Vasilias repeated the same gesture to when he was lowering the pillar of water.

Instead of barely standing on a water base, he was now standing in the shallows of the shore. From the way she was acting, she couldn't possibly be an enemy, right? But again, unexpected things can happen.

The Semblancer listened patiently and noted the extreme shyness visible to her tone. 'A Mage? Nah. I'm more than that, babe.' He thought as he trudged towards the sandy shore, still listening. Before Vasilias could respond to her sparring offer, he stopped walking when the girl complimented him. Next thing he knew, the girl's head was down with her voice a mess of stutters and was walking away. Vasilias blinked in mild confusion. Nothing to worry about complimenting him like that, especially since his top-half wasn't covered.

"Wait. Why're you walkin' away? I'm more than happy to spar with you." Vasilias replied, watching her slowly walk away. Lightning Vs Water? It's a fact that electricity can hurt you badly if you're covered in water.

But the Semblancer sensed something in the girl, he didn't know what it was though. Either way, he shouldn't underestimate challengers, specifically heroes.

@Sandra

Lani turned around and raised a brow, "Really? That would be great!" She pulled down her hood to show her beautiful face, she smiled and walked back to him. "Sorry for my stuttering and all.. Heh... I'm Lani." She out out a hand smiling warmly to him. She seemed to catch herself always looking at his chest. She was way too lonely,..

Stop looking at his chest, dammit! I need a friend, or someone to keep me company, I wouldn't care if I got a a enemy! I just need someone! I guess he's my ticket to company. Maybe a man as well. Well... That's never gonna happen...

Dinner and a show? Awesome!

Ferai loved the feeling of the beach sand under his feet and he wriggled his toes into it as he stood on the beach now, watching Vasilias and some young female conversing. She seemed to be quite taken by the man, blushing and stammering. He padded closer, half of the meal gone already, and sat within earshot, waving one arm at his fellow Breaker.

"Don't mind me. Go ahead. This should be interesting to watch." He flashed a grin and took another large bite of his meal.

"Vasilias. What a petite face you have." He responded with a small smile on his lips. He didn't accept the handshake though, he still felt something strange towards her. Vasilias caught her gaze on his chest and he decided to resume walking to get his gear. "Stay here for a minute. I'll put something on so you won't be distracted, since it won't be fair if I have a advantage like this over you." He told Lani and winked as he walked passed her.

A familiar looking person was looking at them, eating some sort of meaty meal, and Vasilias quirked a brow as he returned the greeting gesture. Grabbing his white shirt, he pulled it on and buttoned it up. He'll forget the tie, since it's pretty uncomfortable. He walked back to Lani but this time, instead of just waving at the person, Vasilias mouthed to him, "Who're you again?"

@Solitaire @Sandra

Lani smiled and blushed slightly. "Heh, thank you.." But when he left to get his shirt.. Her eyes widened. "I- You- I wasn't-..." Her face was red and she mentally slapped herself. Lani muttered angrily to herlsef, still blushing. "It wouldn't be fair he says... Advantage he says..." She muttered mockingly. But Lani took a deep breath in and calmed herself down.

"I was being a tad sarcastic there." Vasilias pointed out. "I've got no current advantage against you, since you stated that you were a Lightning Mage or thing."

He stretched and glanced at the spectator. Pressure wasn't his thing either, but from the feeling he was getting, the spectator was a Breaker, but that still didn't put him at ease. Unexpected things can happen.

@Sandra

Rune finished and watched as the festival started. So many heroes and aspirants all chatting, eating drinking and doing things. He wiped his hands on a cloth and tended the fire before moving away from the tables. (Sorry for the shortness, slowly working on the map. And for those who are wondering how to start, I suggest going to Kul' Ellna for the Festival of Heroes.)

She was quiet. She mentally face palmed herself. "Anyways.. Since you look all powerful and stuff, can you show me some moves, hand to hand combat I would say? But before, if we start, we could go to the festival!" She said excitedly. She just found out a few days ago.

"Ferai." The Breaker mouthed, wondering if he should move back or not.

Then again, this seemed far away enough, unless they got a little too excited and started casting wildly. He had a familiar feeling about him, she... she made him a little uneasy. Did that mean she was a hero? She seemed so... nervous? Shy? Stammery? Maybe she was just taken aback by the sight of a shirtless man. He snickered to himself and crossed his legs beneath himself, finishing the last of his meal before using the stick to pick his teeth.

@VolcanicMagma

Festival of Heroes. Now he knew why he came here. Vasilias' eyes had a sudden glint but it disappeared as soon as he blinked. "That'll be a great idea. Relaxing first, bloodshed later." He agreed, cheerfully. He then he looked at the fellow Breaker and saw him mouth a word. Ferai.

Another thing clicked in his head, Ferai was a familiar name, a fellow breaker he had met somewhere but forgot. Vasilias put his hands on his hips and called out to Ferai, "Want to join us? We're gonna go to the Festival."

Glancing at Lani, he smiled. "You wouldn't mind if he tagged along, right?"

@Sandra @Solitaire

Im at school rn ;)

"Wait... what?" Ferai blinked, confused. "I thought you guys were going to spar! Now you suddenly wanna go to the Festival? You know it's better to fight on a not full stomach right? But whatever, if the girl wants to go play games, I'll tag along."

Women. They really were strange.

@VolcanicMagma

Lani shook her head. "Not at all!.." She said quietly again, waving a hello to Visilias's friend. "So uh, yeah, relaxing first and then bloodshed...." She laughed me roust and looked at his friend again.

Hm. Eh... No options really. Just acquaintances going to the festival of heroes. What could go wrong?

( Might poof sooner or later. Tag me. )
