World war 2 alternate world political/war RP

They're both completely unnecessary and would require significant rework of everyone's sheets from the ground up to support them.

let me just quote my example

State has:
3 metal processing factory, 1 of these factories allows 1 factory constructing mechanical things (like those mentioned under here)

1 aeroplane factory, produces lets say 25 planes per turn and takes one metal processing factory

1 truck factory, produces lets say 40 trucks per turn and takes one metal processing factory

1 surplus metal processing factory means you earn 1 arbitrary money point from it per turn or you can stockpile it.

In this example you could trade away your planes, these planes would be bought for higher then their value might be because they are of a design they don't have.

Or if they have a shipyard but no metals to work with you could force them to pay double for some metals you stockpiled.

And im saying metals cause it would be foolish to do steel, copper, bronze, molybdenum, titanium, chromium, tungsten etcetcetc.

This could be split into sub classes but the point stands

the you earn 1 arbitrary money point thing refers to selling it locally BTW.

But tbh, I dont think either of these work, to me, yours is too complicated and mine seems to place resources at a backseat in all but certain areas.

Oh, okay, I get this. But if lets say I need 5 metal to make a ship, and if you are at war and are using 5 of your 6 to make a tank squad, my economy is stalled cause of your needs, so in a case like this, whatd I do?

And that kiddies is what a war of attrition looks like.

You'll be seeing a lot more of those once the game actually starts.

An Allomancian Queld is worth the equivalent of 2 us dollars. It has 3 decimal places.  A Tweld is worth 4 and a decaqueld is worth 20 equivalent us dollars. A duodecaqueld is worth 40 us dollars.  The subqueld amounts are the half-queld, Subqueld, Quelling, and queldling.The quellan is the equivalent of .2 cents, a queldling is 2 cent, a quelling is 20, a sub Queld is 50, a half-queld is 1 dollars equivalent.

They are wood and stone coins with a hole for a string.

Yep I just typed that.

Wut

Basically a Queld is worth a pack of bubblegum. The half Queld is a dollar. The subqueld is their quarter. A Tweld is 2queld like a toonie and a loonie from Canada. A quellan is the penny and the queldling is a dime.

I just realised something.

In this rp, i control my country so if I wanna make a long economy list, I can, and no one elsehas to follow it.

Thisll work out fine.

Now then, if all that economy bollocks is over with now;

History;

The region known as Drandia has been inhabited since at least the early iron age, ancient historians from the surrounding regions describing the natives as superb smiths of both iron and precious metals as well as fierce warriors who raided far and wide. Ancient sources described the Drandian culture as one of bloody tribal warfare, but speaks highly of them as staunch and loyal allies and mercenaries.

The disparate tribes of Drandia united sometime in the fifth or sixth century, banding together into a single kingdom, likely through a series of forced marriages between tribal nobles. Creating the Kingdom of Drand, ruled by the Syzik Dynasty.

The unification under the Syzik Dynasty allowed the Drandians to wage more organized war against their neighbors, continuing a proud tradition of war and battle. The Syziks were defeated several times throughout their history, but the mountains of their homelands protected them from invasions, preventing a permanent defeat by their neighbors.

The Syzik Dynasty formalized a system of mercenary service for the Drandian people, allowing their neighbors to hire entire units of Drandian soldiers to help fight in their wars against each other and beyond.

The Syzik Dynasty ruled unbroken until the early fifteen hundreds, when the neighboring Empire of Aroristan invaded the Kingdom of Drand and inflicted decisive defeats thanks to new tactics, using tight formations of pike armed infantry supported by new arqebus weaponry to crush the Drandians. Ultimately forcing the Syziks to abdicate and absorbing the Kingdom of Drand into them.

The conquest of Drandia proved problematic for the Aroristanians almost immediately, as their subjects rebelled, rioted and generally made trouble for their Imperial overlords. Rebellions and uprisings occurred regularly throughout the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The Empire tried implementing a variety of measures to counteract the constant unrest, rebels were shot or hung, dissidents were given the choice between being sold into slavery or being exiled from Imperial lands. Tens of thousands of Drandians fled the Empire, signing on with militaries across the globe, but especially those nation at war with Aroristan, earning a fearsome reputation as skilled and determined soldiers. Drandian exiles have settled in nearly every nation in the modern world, creating small but strong communities within their new lands.

It wasn’t until the mid-nineteenth century that the Aroristanians finally ended the incessant rebellions, marrying the Heir to Aroristan to a distant descendant of the ancient Syzik family, creating the Empire of Arori-Drandia under joint rulership in eighteen-fifty-three.

Unburdened by the infighting that had plagued the prior empire, Arori-Drandia was able to make good use of the ample supplies of iron and coal in Drandia, rapidly modernizing and becoming a world leader in heavy industry, establishing one of the most expansive networks of railroads in the world, that in part continues to this day.

Millions of Drandian descendants flocked back to the land of their forefathers, bringing with them many of the traditions from their adopted homelands, creating a large and ethnically diverse modern state in the span of just a few decades.

Military victories, spurred on by millions of Drandian enlistees and aided by significant technological advancements in weaponry, abounded as Arori-Drandia fought to earn its place as a global power.

When the Great War came the world did not find Arori-Drandia wanting, holding over twenty million soldiers under arms at its peak. Despite its great strength however, all was not well within the Empire. The death of ruling Emperor, Charles del Torra the Eighth, under mysterious circumstances in nineteen-seventeen brought suspicions upon his only son and heir Charles del Torra the Ninth, accusations of murder flew and a succession crisis occurred.

The Empire was torn apart by infighting as claimants rushed to take the throne, gathering whatever support they could get from the military or people. With the Empire’s heartlands falling into anarchy the frontlines collapsed, allowing the Empire’s enemies to push deep into Imperial territory as the military chose sides.

Dozens of factions emerged, supporting this or that claimant or aiming to establish this or that government in place of the monarchy.

Seven years of bloody, costly, destructive civil war ensued, lasting long after the Great War ended. In nineteen-fourteen the Empire’s population was thriving at over three-hundred-million, in nineteen-twenty-four when the civil war was declared over with the signing of the Treaty of Alda the population was less than half that number.

The ultimate result of the Civil War was the abolishment, and execution, of the Monarchy and the emergence of two similar but distinct states, one in Aroristan and one in Drandia.

In Drandia the ultimate victor of the Civil War was the People’s Union of Drandia, led by an alliance of military officers under the command of the skilled and charismatic general Bojo Cepin. The People’s Union successfully captured and systematically executed most of the Syzik branch of the ruling family, with a handful escaping to other nations. Lacking claimants to fight for many royalist factions disbanded, significantly easing the conflict for the Union’s forces.

Left with a broken and fractured nation Cepin set out to rebuild, first launching extensive negotiations with his counterparts in Aroristan that led to the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Cooperation and the formation of the Alliance Against Imperialism.

That done Drandia set to the difficult task of rebuilding, restoring their once great steelworks, arms factories, railroads and iron mines to function service again. Rooting out the last of the Monarchist influence in Drandia. Under the close guidance of the Vanguard Council of the United People’s Party, Drandia has grown into a strong state.

However, despite internal advancement, Drandia’s foreign relations are anything but strong. While their ties to Aroristan remain close and they maintain nominal relations with the vaguely similar nation of Valaria, Drandia decries many other nations as Monarchic puppets and Imperialist oppressors of their people. Other nations in turn denounce Drandia as nothing more than a military dictatorship hiding behind a thin guise of Democratic rhetoric.

Relations with Allegmange to the south are particularly strained following their recent Reclamation War and Allegmangian accusations of Drandia providing aid to rebel forces.

With the world sitting on the brink of a second great war, the People’s Union stands at a crossroads in history. Only time will yet tell what becomes of the Alliance Against Imperialism and their crusade of liberation.

Terrain;

Drandia is heavily mountainous, with rolling hills dotting the landscape. Extensive railroad networks criss-cross the countryside, connecting the generally urbanized population to each other, as well as extending across the Arorian border to tightly connect the two nations.

The landscape is difficult to traverse without following the railroads, roads are poor and in most places simply pathways worn into the dirt rather than proper roads while the frequent changes in elevation and tilt makes driving any vehicle a nightmare.

The weather is generally fair most of the year, with the elevation bringing much snow in the winter time and the wet season causing the occasional landslide.

The Reka Donava bisects the countryside, creating the fastest sea route from one side of the continent to the other. People’s Liberation Navy cutters heavily patrol the river, ensuring no trade ship that passes through is harboring subversives or contraband.

Aircraft

Culture;

Drandian culture is a diverse subject, large amounts of traditions have been imported from other nations and added to the indigenous ones. The population is fairly urbanized, generally congregating around areas of relatively flat land to build their homes and businesses. Most of the population work heavy labor jobs, mining, smelting, lumber, factory work and such.

There’s little farming due to a lack of good ground for it, however many rural people continue the nation’s long history of goat herding.

Drandians are (in)famously stubborn people, and the horrors of the Great War and Civil War have done little to change that. Education is generally high thanks to considerable efforts to restore the school system to working order since the end of the Civil War, most people are literate and the University of Drandia has plenty of students.

Crime rate is generally low, due to abundant work and strong policing.

The military holds a special regard in the eyes of most Drandians, a long history of warfare combined with the fresh memories of the horrors of the Civil War have made heroes out of the men who fight in it.

Women have gained considerable amounts of rights following the massive population loss of the wars, women find employment at many jobs, from nurses to secretaries to factory workers, even finding service in the military as aircraft pilots and tank crews. Suffrage is effectively universal as well, as every citizen has the right to demonstrate.

Drandians follow a wide variety of religions, many brought to the lands less than a hundred years ago by the mass return of Drandians to Imperial lands.

Drandians generally view other nations with a mixture of suspicion and pity, Union propaganda painting their neighbors as oppressed states still shackled to the whims of royalty.

An important aspect of Drandian culture is the concept of the ‘wild goat’, a colloquial term for Drandians living outside Drandia. Such people from ethnic minority groups in most nations, either drawn from the descendants of exiled rebels or refugees from the Civil War. The vast majority of Drandian folk art and music revolves around these people, or at least the idea of them.

Ljudska Stranka;

(The People’s Party)

The People’s Party is one of the five branches of the Union government, collectively referred to as the United People’s Party. The People’s Party is the administrative branch of the government, schools, factories, tax collection, railway maintenance, propaganda distribution and much more are the responsibility of the People’s Party.

One of the most important responsibilities of the People’s Party however, is the measuring of the people’s will. Citizen protests, worker strikes, student petitions and other forms of demonstrations are all expressions of the will of the people. And if the Union is to represent the people it must be aware of their desires.

Ljudska Stranka Mladih

(People’s Youth Party)

The People’s Youth Party is a special organization within the Union’s school system, dedicated to teaching young men, ages eight through seventeen, skills and values that will serve them well later in life. Toolcraft, fire safety, first aid, camping skills and more are paired with education about one’s duties to the Union and its people and even preparation for military service near the end of the program.

Participation in the program is not required, but is highly encouraged. Those who successfully complete the program are fast tracked for officership positions within the military following basic training if they choose to go into the military, as well as preference for available scholarships to study at the University of Drandia.

Zveza Proti Imperializem;

(Alliance Against Imperialism)

The Alliance Against Imperialism is a treaty between the People’s Union and its neighbor of Aroristan that has existed since the end of the Civil War. It guarantees military and economic support between the two nations.

But more than that, the ZPI is a significant force within Drandian culture, creating a strong bond of kinship between their fellows in the west, built upon their shared suffering at the hands of the Monarchists. Drandians think of Aroristanians as not just allies, but brothers.

Okay. Just out of curiosity, is anyone doing themed military forces or are we just picking what we like from historical militaries?
