why do good girls like lone guys? (Blaine x Pica)

As they finished eating, she slowly looked up to Jono. "H-how was it?" she murmured, worried at Jono's reaction. Ami was used to cooking for herself and her parents, but not for anyone else.

Speaking of parents, she began to wonder where they were. It was awfully quiet in her home for a weekday. They would usually be home by 8o'clock or earlier, and it was already 7:30 in the evening. 'Weird..' she thought to herself.

"It was pleasant thank you." He nodded slightly with a slight smile to her. She seemed a bit skittish, maybe she didn't often cook for others? Funny, thought she was the the popular girl. Guess it was only at school. Did she even have proper close friends?

She looked to be looking at the door in thought. Maybe she was wondering where her parents were? Or waiting for some mail? He couldn't tell, being no mind reader.

Ami smiled at Jono's approval on her cooking. "I'm glad you liked it." she told him, smiling.

Standing up, she began clearing up the table when she heard the familiar click of the door, signalling that her parents were already home. "It sure smells good in here!" a male voice boomed from near the door. "Ami, honey? We're home!" a female voice followed. Ami placed the plates back down on the table and turned to run to her parents, giving them a big hug in the process. "Mommy! Daddy! You're home!" she cried out, happy that her parents were home. "Yes princess, we're here." her father said, laughing at his daughter's little scene.

"It smells wonnderful in here, dear. Have you already eaten? I hope you didn't have to wait for us." her mother said, looking at her daughter worriedly. Ami shook her head at this. "We already ate, mom. No problem." she replied. "We?" her father repeated, finally taking notice of Jono who was standing in the background. "Oh? Who's this? A friend of yours, dear? Maybe a boyfriend?" her mother asked, teasing Ami repeatedly. "M-mom! No! He's just a f-friend!" Ami stuttered, obviously flustered.

"Mommy, daddy. This is Jonathon. J-jono, these are my parents, Emily and Christian." she said quickly, hoping to change the subject.

Jono was observing quite the scene. Unsure how to react, he kept quiet as she near tackled her parents for a hug. He wished his parents were equally informal so that he could do that, alas it is otherwise.

Her flustered expression at the denial had him raise an eyebrow, but he didn't chase up in the matter.

Once she finished the introduction he bowed slightly and spoke in a gentlemanly voice.

"Pleasure to become of acquaintance."

Ami's father immediately straightened up and walked over to Jono. "Pleasure is all mine." Christian said as he gave his hand out for a handshake. Emily sighed and shook her head at her husband. "Welcome to our home, Jonathon. It is unusual for Ami to bring home a friend, so we welcome them wholeheartedly whenever there is a visitor." She said, smiling at him.

"Daddy, you won't be able to scare him, you know." Ami said, laughing slightly at her father. Christian heard this and pouted at her. "You don't trust my skills, princess?" He asked, looking to her. "I do daddy. Let's just say you'd get hurt with what you're doing."

Jono took the hand anyway and shook it as a polite regard. If he was about to be thrown or grappled, he was ready to counter as means saw fit. He had enough 'real life situations' taught to him it practically bled out of his ears.

He noticed again from what the parents said. The popular girl didn't take friends home...were they superficial or something? It seemed as though she didn't have any actually close/good friends of that standard. Then again, until now he had none.

Christian let out a small irk at Jono's grip. "You've got a strong grip, I see." he said, letting go of his hand and shaking the life back into it. Emily laughed at her husband and shook her head. "I'm just glad Ami has a friend to look after her in school. She has never mentioned anyone that involved school to us." Emily said. "And please don't mind my husband. He gets competitive when it comes to Amelia." she added, looking to her daughter, noticing that she had a different shirt still on.

"Ami, dear, whose shirt is that?" Emily asked, examining the shirt she had on. Ami mentally slapped herself, ofcourse she'd forget to change when cooking is involved. "Uhm, mom.. It's a long story.. Ish.." she tried explaining, the words coming out all jumbled up.

Jono stood beside Ami as they talked, listening intently. Just how much did she actually tell them about school?

When the matter of the rogue shirt came up, Ami stumbled over the rocky road to Dublin and couldn't get to a steady mental footing. He decided to help out. Speaking in a calm and collected manner:

"She spilt some food while cooking, so I offered my spare clothing.".

Ami looked to Jono in shock, surprised to see that he not only told her parents, he covered up for her. She discreetly took hold of his hand and squeezed it lightly, smiling at him. "Y-yeah.. I kinda got a little to carried away.. Again." she said, blushing lightly.

Her parents nodded and smiled at the two's response. "Well, thank you Jonathon. She can get messy in the kitchen at times." Emily replied, giggling a little. Christian noticed that the two were holding hands, but said nothing to give away his discovery.

Ami looked back to Jono, smiling lightly. "It's getting late Jono, shouldn't you be getting home?" she asked him, tilting her head. "Yes, it has gotten dangerous at night, you should be going home." Emily added, looking to the clock. "Well, either way. Thank you for looking after Ami at schoo. Please continue to be by her side from now on." Christian said, patting Jono on the shoulder.

"Sure." Was his only response. He noted that Ami was holding his hand, but decided not to cause a scene over it. He wasn't particularly familiar (read as: no one has except his parents) with people holding his hand.

"I'll see you later then I assume." He said as he put his jacket on and took his school bag and started walking to the door. It wasn't gonna be a long trek back for sure, being only a few doors away.

Ami let go of Jono's hand as he said he'd leave. "I'll see you tomorrow, Jono." she said, smiling. "Hope we see you again Jonathon." Emily added, waving goodbye. "I'm sure he'll be back soon." Christian said with a laugh.

The next morning came quickly as Ami was eating breakfast at the table. She'd made an omelette with bacon and sausages for their breakfast. Christian was the first to see Ami eating, Emily still fast asleep in their bedrooom. "Smell wonderful, as always, princess." he told her kissing her forehead and taking a seat, his stomach yearning for food. "Ofcourse daddy. Only the very best." Ami replied, giggling at her father.

"Well, it seems like you've been laughing a lot more now Ami. I'm glad you're getting back to normal." Christian said, a worried expression passing by his face. Ami shook her head at him. "I'm fine daddy. I've been making a lot of friends now. It won't happen again." she reassured him, placing her hand over his. "I hope so, angel." he replied, a weak smile on his face.

Ami looked to the clock, it was almost time to leave. Taking a quick sip of her orange juice, she got up and kissed her father on the cheek. "I'll see you later! Bye!!" she called out, grabbing her bag and headed out of the door, making sure that Jono's shirt was in it. "Alright, it's there. Now, to get to school." she told herself, humming as she walked.

Jonathan had a relatively standard standard nights sleep and had a large bowl of cereal with milk. He ate in silence to himself since his parents had already left for work.

He didn't have any martial arts for two weeks, because the sensei was on a holiday. Didn't blame him, it was close to the summer holidays.

As he began walking out, he stroked their brown cat. "See you later Biscuit."

The cat purred in response to being petted.

As he walked out the house, he saw Ami walking outside just passing his front house gate. She appeared in a relatively good mood. Then again, she got away from a lot of awkwardness yesterday from making up that excuse. Was that all to it though?

"Morning."

Ami jumped up in surprise as Jono appeared from out of nowhere. "You.." she said, placing her hand over her beating heart. "Are you a ninja or something? You appear out of nowhere every time I see you." she added, slowly calming down. She looked him from top to bottom and smiled. 'His usual appearance.. It'll never change.' She thought to herself. "Good morning by the way."

As they continued walking, Ami thought about where Jono came from. "Do you live close by? You seemed to have come just out of your house, awhile ago." She asked him, curious as to his own home. How did he act? What did the house look like? Did he live with his parents? So many questions, and yet no answer to any of them.

"Having a usual appearance makes it easier to get changed in the morning." He found he didn't like the hassle in the mornings, so just went with a usual pattern. Turns out it helped him blend too.

She later inquired how he managed to pounce on her like that. The reason was actually rather simple.

"Coincidentally I live a few doors down."

He saw her a few times while walking to school but never paid real attention.

Tapatalk ahoy!

"Really?" She said, surprised by his little comment. "I never knew.." She added. They then continued on walking, Jono by her side. They made small talk as they walked, not realizing that they were already near the school gates. "Oh hey, we're here." She told Jono, smiling. She then grabbed his hand on instinct and began walking in. "Come on! Let's go!" She exclaimed.

He enjoyed chatting with her casually as they walked, though it was more Ami talking and him listening and occasionally adding his own quips.

When Ami held his hand as they walked in, Jono didn't do anything against it, her hand was warm and gentle.

Though one thing did cross his mind for when people see them.

He thought to himself Here come the rumours.

Tapatalk ahoy!

Ami then realized that she had grabbed Jono's hand out of nowhere. She immediately let go and looked to Jono apologetically. "I'm so sorry! It's a habit of mine.." She murmured, bowing down to him repeatedly. She then stopped and looked to Jono again. "I.. I hope I didn't mae you awkward.." she whispered, a small blush creeping to her face.

He was mildly surprised by her reaction and gave a slight chuckle.

"I don't mind it."

He smiled slightly as he walked beside her to class. He noticed how sensitive she was to other people even amidst her sometimes klutzy moments, which just added to her charm.

Tapatalk ahoy!

As they made their way to their class, Ami didn't take notice of the stares that was being thrown at them. The only thing she noticed was Jono, how he was kind, somewhat friendly and fun to be around. "So, like I was saying, my parents were wondering if you wanted to come over some time? Mommy wants you to try her cooking now." She told Jono, smiling lightly at the idea of her mother repeatedly telling her to invite Jonathon over soon. "She's taken quite a liking to you." She added, chuckling and making way to her seat.

Jono took the seat beside her. It was a good thing they weren't assigned specific seats, even if he usually was just beside her.

"I'd be happy to try. It looks like I did a good job pleasing then." He said with a chuckle at the end. Surely their parents liking you made life easier.

Tapatalk ahoy!

Ami smiled at Jono's response. "You can come over anytime. Just tell me or else mommy'd kill me if she didn't have dinner ready before you came over." She told him, smiling at him as she spoke. "I hope you aren't coming because you feel like you're being forced to.." She murmured, looking down on the ground between them.

He chuckled slightly again. Her demeanour was just too much, in a good way.

"No not at all. Since my sensei is on holiday anyway I have nothing to do except school work, and that isn't particularly hard if you listen in lessons."

He noted the murmurs and looks being given by people.

After all, the man no one knew about (the people who assaulted Ami never knew what hit them and are in hospital) was with the popular girl and getting on friendly with them.

Tapatalk ahoy!

"It's a date then!" She exclaimed, happy that Jono wasn't going because he was forced or obliged to. She then heard her own words and blushed. "I- I don't mean date like you and me.. I mean like.. Uhm.. Uh.." She stuttered, obviously flustered by her own words. She chose to keep her mouth shut and just looked away.

This girl.

He smiled as she spoke. "Maybe if you think before you speak you might get less flustered. I don't mind either way though what it is."

He did like how this girl was honest though. Many people were deceitful these days but this person seemed the exact opposite of so.

Tapatalk ahoy!

She calmed down a little at Jono's response. She always got so flustered when it came to Jono, why? She'll never know. "I-I'll keep that in mind." she replied, still not looking to Jono, and just in time, the professor then came in. "Good morning class! Time for a new lesson!" his voice boomed throughout the room, groans being sent back to him.
