Darcy was lost in the moment with her twins, hearing them giggle and shove snow at each other. It had reminded her of when she was a kid. She was glad to give them a happy childhood, even if it was just her. She didn't need anyone else, she was able to provide them all the love they needed, just her.

Her own thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice. One that had filled her own childhood. It made her turn abruptly on her heel, causing her foot to slip out from under her and her falling completely on her ass. It knocked the breathe out of her as she said,
"Mason?"

"What are you doing here?"
She asked as she tried to push herself up on her wrist, it going out from under her, causing her to hit her head on the ice. She groaned out.

;; Sidney
The woman's enthusiasm caught Sidney off guard. Typically, people were put off by his pessimistic remarks. But somehow, this woman spun her own idea of magic into his statement. She made life sound like it could be something wonderful. He'd thought that hope for a wonderful life had long passed by, but maybe the best part of life could be whatever was coming next.

It felt dangerous to hope like this. The brief feeling of joy was replaced with a sinking feeling of uncertainty. In his experience, everything hurt so much more when he let himself hope for the best. Things wouldn't change just because the wonderful girl in front of him made him feel hopeful for the future.

Sidney drifted back into reality after being lost in his own thoughts, attention caught by the woman's laugh. Her hands were still attached to his. Had they been like that for long? He couldn't tell. It didn't matter to him either way. He assumed something about this interaction was weird, or made the woman nervous, from the way she quickly dropped his hands and put them behind her back. Maybe he was just being weird again. Sometimes he did things without thinking, but he couldn't place what he had done this time.

He smiled back at her, but his eyes hinted at confusion. Her friendliness continued to catch him off guard, leaving him unsure of her intentions. "I'm Sidney. Sidney Lewis. Nice to meet you, Oz," He nodded, testing Ozelia's nickname out. It was nice.

A short silence followed. They were both on their feet, she had gathered her things, there wasn't much else to say. "Well, I guess I should let you get on your way. Uh... good talking to ya." There was some weight to his last words, to Sid it wasn't just a pleasantry. He would never say that if he didn't mean it. His interaction with Oz was truly one of the best interactions he'd had all week.

;; Casper
A smile crossed Casper's face as the woman snapped. It wasn't the worst he'd gotten, but at least it wasn't nothing. He supposed what he'd said to the woman barely scratched the surface of the level of inappropriate comments he was capable of, so her response was appropriate. Still, his favorite responses were the more extreme ones. Name calling. A drink thrown in his face. A slap. Those were by far more entertaining than vaguely sassy turndowns.

Casper saw her scan the lobby. Oh, she wanted out, and she wanted out bad. But, she didn't just get up and go. He still had some time. He gave a small chuckle as he sat back in his chair, genuinely amused by the situation. The smile on his face turned into an over exaggerated pout. "Ouch. That hurt my feelings." He said, a slight sarcastic whine in his voice.

He got rid of his pout, looking the woman in her eyes. "Come on. Not with someone like you. You can do better than that, Cracker Barrel." He teased. "Someone like you... hmmm. Someone like you? I don't know what you could possibly mean by that. Care to elaborate?"

He knew what she meant. Or at least, had a pretty probably assumption. He was annoying and gross and had no respect for anything. Casper knew all that. He just wanted to hear it from her. Preferably phased in the meanest way possible, but he'd take what he could get.

Dallas internally cringed at him saying Little Miss Texas; but outwardly put on a smile. He could never have known that she absolutely loathed the entire state. She had even tried living there but only lasted 2 weeks before she bought her snowglobe (begrudgingly) and high-tailed it out of there.

"I'm actually from the other T state. But my mom liked the show."
She said, keeping her smile as it slowly turned genuine,
"I was raised to be a titan's fan through and through."

It was honestly refreshing to be around an American. She knew some from around the lodge but hadn't found one she could talk to on this level, much less about football, Dallas' secret love.

"Well yeah, especially now. I have someone to watch the games with...unless you aren't an NFL guy, Mr. Piece's."

"Can you help me find something to wear?"

ennedy looked up at Bryson, her pale blue eyes sparkling with mischief as they caught the light.
"Thank you,"
she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper, as he handed her the coat. She draped it over her shoulders, feeling the fabric wrap around her. Although she wasn’t exactly cold, the warmth of the coat and the thoughtful gesture sent a rush through her, making her heart skip a beat. She felt a flutter of appreciation for his kindness, which lingered in the air between them.

As they strolled toward the party, she slid her hand into his, fingers intertwining effortlessly. The warmth of his hand surrounded hers, and she couldn’t help but feel a thrill at the simple act of being close to him. They chatted about random topics—everything from their favorite holiday movies to the best local coffee shops, laughter bubbling up between them like a shared secret. The world around them faded into a blur, leaving just the two of them wrapped in their own little bubble of joy.

Suddenly, Kennedy turned to him, her expression shifting to something more earnest.
"Since you’re stuck here, please stay for Christmas,"
she said, her voice taking on a hopeful tone. She looked at him with those irresistible puppy-like eyes, filled with sincerity and a hint of longing.
"Us fixing your truck can be my Christmas gift to you,"
she added, a playful smile creeping onto her lips. The thought of spending the holidays together filled her with warmth, and her cheeks began to turn a soft shade of pink, betraying her excitement.

She imagined watching him and her brother working side by side, tools scattered around them as they tackled the repairs. She could picture the laughter and camaraderie they would share, taking breaks for hot cocoa with her, the rich scent of chocolate mingling with the crisp winter air. The idea of creating those memories with Bryson made her heart race even faster, and she hoped he could see just how much it meant to her. Would he really consider it? The anticipation hung between them, and Kennedy felt a sense of hope blooming in her chest, ready to make this holiday truly special.

Ivy Hayes

The Influencer

Taken aback, Ivy looked between Oliver and Naomi, her heart racing with a mix of emotions. Before Naomi could extend her hand for a greeting, Ivy threw her arms around Oliver in a tight hug. It felt so good to see him again, but that warmth lasted only a moment before she pulled away, her expression shifting to a playful glare.
"You ditched me,"
she said, her tone teasing yet carrying an undertone of hurt. Her eyes softened as she looked at him; deep down, she couldn't really be mad at him. She understood that he had wanted to get away, but she hadn’t expected him to cut contact completely.

Shaking her head, she forced a smile back onto her face.
"Oliver, this is my bestie Naomi,"
she introduced, her excitement bubbling to the surface again.
"We were just heading to the party,"
she continued, her wild smile growing as she felt the energy of the night surrounding them.
"And about to make Christmas plans... what are you doing for Christmas? You both should totally come to the Hayes house for it. It will be such a fun event!"
Her laughter mingled with the festive atmosphere, and she tried to recall all the good times she had shared with Oliver, alongside the countless memories she had created with Naomi. Ivy was determined not to let the silence of the past affect her tonight; they could have that serious talk another time.

As she spoke, Ivy found herself somewhat lost in the chatter around her, but she thought she heard Julian's name mentioned by a girl nearby. Her thoughts flickered to her "situation-ship" with him—an arrangement she still didn’t quite understand. It was strange how they had ended up in this undefined relationship, but she guessed that loneliness had a way of leading people to unexpected places. She had heard rumors about Julian, whispers that made her question his intentions, but she always held onto a flicker of hope that he was different. There was a part of her that compared him to someone else she had always had a crush on, but deep down, she knew that no one could ever truly be him.

With a determined shake of her head, Ivy pushed those thoughts aside. Tonight was about reconnecting, celebrating, and making new memories, and she was ready to embrace all the joy the evening promised.

awson let out a soft sigh, trying to keep his emotions in check as he listened to Talisa. Her words hung in the air, and he could feel the weight of unspoken feelings between them. When she suddenly wrapped her arms around him, he was taken completely by surprise. For a moment, he hesitated, caught off guard by the warmth and intimacy of the gesture. But then, without a second thought, he enveloped her in his embrace, looking down at her with a gentle expression.

"I know,"
he began, his voice steady yet tinged with a hint of regret,
"but you have to remember, silly girl, I’m in my 40s now. My partying days are behind me."
He felt her small frame relax against him, and he instinctively rubbed her back, hoping to convey some comfort. As he held her close, he found himself lost in thought, contemplating the passage of time and the inevitable changes it brought. Finally, he spoke again, his tone softening.
"My job will always be to protect you. That doesn’t change just because you’ve grown up or because I’m now a constable."

As she pulled away, Lawson couldn’t help but watch her leave, a sense of confusion swirling within him. Why did this moment feel so difficult? Why did her words cut deeper than he expected? He stood at the edge of the door, ensuring she made it inside safely, but his heart felt heavy with unarticulated thoughts. Sighing softly, he muttered under his breath,
"Fudge,"
feeling a mix of frustration and longing.

In a moment of clarity and determination, he decided he couldn’t let her walk away like this.
"Talisa, wait!"
he called out, his voice slicing through the din of the penthouse music. He hurried after her, gently grabbing her wrist to turn her back to him. Their faces were mere inches apart, and he could see the surprise in her eyes.
"I’ll stay for a few minutes,"
he said, his voice barely above a whisper, yet resolute. He wanted her to know he was there for her, even if the world around them seemed to pulse with youthful energy and chaos. In that moment, he felt the weight of their shared past and the complexities of their present, yearning for a connection that transcended the years and the roles they now played.

Bryson
Bryson's lips curled into a sly smile, pleased that Kennedy had graciously accepted the offer of his jacket, wrapping herself comfortably in its warmth...
As he held the diner's door open for her, his eyes sparkled with an unspoken joy, reveling in this newfound friendship he had so.. easily formed with her, it almost felt surreal.

They soon arrived at the party, which pulsated with a cacophony of laughter and music that far surpassed his expectations...
He had never been one to immerse himself in such rowdiness, making this moment feel almost overwhelming.
Yet, the grounding sensation of Kennedy's hand sliding into his was a delightful surprise..her fingers weaving through his, creating an unexpected yet comforting sensation.

The sight of her beaming face ignited a flutter in his chest... had he truly played a role in her happiness.. her smile.. that sparkle in her eye..?
Encouraged by the warmth she brought to him, Bryson let his fingers intertwine with hers, allowing himself the freedom to enjoy the night ahead.. for once, with one steadfast rule.. no drinking.
Alcohol had never been his thing, and he had made a silent vow to stay sober.. for Kennedy, ensuring her safety and steering clear of any trouble that might arise.

Lost in his thoughts, Bryson's attention snapped back when she turned, a playful glimmer in her eye that prompted a soft chuckle from him... "For Christmas, yeah? That might be a bit of a stretch," he replied, knowing deep down that he had nowhere urgent to be, no bustling job waiting for him, nor family obligations.

Her comment had taken him by surprise, but as he observed the earnestness in her gaze, he found himself fascinated..he had never encountered someone who so desperately wanted him to linger.
That sensation stirred something thrilling within him that he didn’t mind at all...

When she jested about her Christmas gift being her brother's repairs on his truck, he couldn’t help but laugh, recognizing that Anthony was the true mechanic in this scenario.
Nevertheless, he nodded in acceptance. "Well… then that means I'll have to get you a gift as well," he said, straightening up to meet her gaze with a lightened expression..

Bryson's remark hung in the air.. almost like a promise, a declaration that he was firmly rooted.

The thought of lingering until Christmas didn’t bother him.. in fact, it brought a warmth to his heart, a sense of..friendship.. that he had come to cherish.
His fingers curled more tightly around her hand, a subtle gesture of assurance, as his gaze flickered toward the lively gathering around them.

The revelry felt foreign to him, a world he didn’t quite fit into, and he found himself yearning for something simpler... "How about we get outta here..?" he suggested, his voice laced with a teasing lilt...
"I’d much rather indulge in some hot cocoa than deal with the aftermath of a night fueled by alcohol, which... let’s be honest.. usually ends in a pretty shitty hangover." He stated in a low playful tone, as if trying to avoid the ears of others, his eyes sparkling with mischief, yet he remained steadfast, if she wanted to stay at this party, then he'd stay as well.

Zara gazed at her closet, thinking about what vibe she wanted to give off tonight. She didn't want to spend a night with any of the idiotic men that would be at the party. She knew none of them would be worth it. But, she'd like for them to think that they might have a shot. Just so they'd entertain her by tripping over their own feet trying to impress her.

"Hm. I'd like the guys at the party to fall to their knees for me. Even if we both know none of them stand a chance." A smug laugh escaped Zara's lips. "I was thinking... maybe something like this... or this.." She was cut off from flipping through her dresses and pointing out the ones she liked for the evening by the timer she set on her phone. She turned off the alarm quickly and began to head towards the restroom. "Oh! One sec, it's time for this mask to come off."

Zara stepped into the bathroom that was attached to her bedroom and rinsed her face off, removing the luxurious mask it was covered with. After, she applied a couple moisturizing creams and oils, to keep her skin looking nice and smooth.

After the completion of her skincare routine, she stepped back into the bedroom. "So, any thoughts on my outfit for the night? What do you think is going to make men lose their minds?"

ren nodded to her, a soft smile crossing his face as she gently released her grip on his arm.
"I'll be right back."
He said, his voice calm as he turned to make his way toward the bar. He stuck close to the walls, navigating through the crowded room with practiced ease, careful to avoid the chaos of partygoers. There was something comforting about being on the edges, out of the way, where he could take a breath without the constant rush of people around him.
When he finally reached the bar, he saw a blonde woman standing behind it, a partygoer who seemed to of taken on the role of bartender, chatting with a group of friends. She looked up after a moment and greeted him with a wide, welcoming smile, her energy warm and inviting. Wren hesitated for only a second before ordering a strawberry daiquiri for Belle and a simple Coke for himself. He knew he’d need a clear head to drive home later, and he didn’t want to impose on Belle’s first night in town by drinking too much and needing to crash in her room.
As the woman handed him the drinks, he gave her a nod of thanks, his smile small but sincere. With his hands full, he turned back to the crowd, seeking the comfort of the one familiar face in the sea of strangers.
On his way back, he noticed Maddox standing near the doorway, his posture tense, like he was ready to bolt at any moment. Wren’s heart gave a small tug at the sight of his cousin looking even more out of place than he felt. He raised his arm to catch Maddox's attention, waving as he called out over the crowd.
"Maddox! Over here!"

When Maddox’s eyes locked onto his, Wren gave him a friendly wave toward the window where Belle stood, signaling that he was just over there. He didn’t want to rush over and drag him into the chaos if Maddox was planning to leave, but he’d feel better with more familiar faces around.
Wren finally reached Belle, sidling up next to her and standing in front of her by the window. He offered her the fruity drink with a playful grin.
"I just saw Maddox at the door! I waved him over."
he said, his voice light.
Taking a sip of his own Coke, he let out a small sigh, feeling the coolness of the soda settle him a bit. There was something comforting about being near Belle, even in the middle of all this noise. The world outside may have been chaotic, but here, with her, everything felt just a little bit calmer.

POV - Roman Marshall
Roman had smiled happily when Auriela expressed delight for their outfit. She was all they needed to have that boost in confidence. Their soft blue eyes sparkled with joy and love when she came over and locked fingers with them. Roman still couldn't help but admire her beauty as she stood there in her red dress. "So do you," they replied softly as they looked down at her. Afterwards, the two of them headed off to the party with all of their things.

The party itself was quite a hoot. There were plenty of people there, even some of Roman's friends and acquaintances. They had fun while they were there, engaging in conversations and getting accustomed to the wild atmosphere. But Roman was most happy about the fact that Auriela was sticking true to her word and refraining from drinking. They were so proud of her. After all, she still had a whole life ahead of her. They couldn't bear to see her fall down the wrong path into something that they knew she was much better than.

But soon, Roman noticed that Auriela was starting to lose her interest in the party, seeing her become more restless. So they both decided to call it a night and head to her home. Once there, Roman and her settled down from their eventful night. As she rested there on her bed, Roman stood beside her, a thoughtful look on their face as they were processing a bunch of the thoughts running through their mind at that moment. Once Auriela spoke up with her playful attitude, they smiled softly. "No. But, um..." Roman hesitated, not wanting to kill the mood but also wanting to get a little something off of their chest. They looked back at her before speaking up again, with a bit of sentimental-ness in their eyes. "Can I just say something?"

Rachel headed back to the apartment with Hollis, excited to get ready for this party. Once she and Hollis split up and headed to their rooms, Rachel went straight to her closet to figure out what to wear. Boy, was her closet a mess. A jumble of mix matched clothing and accessories was scattered everywhere, there was no method to the madness.

She really had to dig around the closet in order to find a few comprehensible outfits for the party. Rachel laid what she had found across her bed and pondered her options. Hot party getup? Festive Christmas wear? Cute and comfy? She was unsure. Connecting her phone to a bluetooth speaker, she begun to blast some music as she tried on each outfit individually, putting on a little fashion show for herself in the mirror.

Finally, she decided on the party getup. The top was the cutest of the three options and the pants were really comfortable. She put on some black boots to complete her look. As she tied her shoes she heard Hollis knocking on the door. The knocking continued until she stood and walked over, opening the door. She grinned when she saw her roommate's onesie. "Wow, I can already tell we're going to be the stylish group at the party," she giggled.

Rachel followed Hollis out of the apartment, plenty of pep in her step as she walked out the door. She chatted with her friend the whole way to the bakery, excited to pregame with everyone. Finally at the bakery, Rachel audibly gasped when she saw Ave. "Oh my god! You're gorgeous," she squealed, rushing over to her friend. "... And so are you," she grinned as her gaze drifted to the booze on the table.

The grin on her face brightened even further as she watched Mikey enter, fireball in hand. "And there's more! Atta boy!" She laughed as she picked up one of the shots Hollis has poured, winking playfully before downing the vodka.

Elodie was snapped out of her own little world of observations by a friendly sounding voice. She looked over to see a pretty brunette, who looked somewhat familiar. It took Elodie a second to place her, but as the girl spoke she realized where she knew her from. She's spotter her a few times at the lodge restaurant, where Elodie took gigs sometimes. The playful glimmer in her eyes and kind smile she wore were memorable, but Elodie had never actually spoken to her before. She was glad that the girl approached her tonight.

She gave a gentle giggle at the girl's comment. Elodie had noticed the drunken guy flirting with a Christmas gnome decoration, it was rather amusing really. "Oh no," She gave a phony pout, but her eyes were sparkling with excitement. "I was really rooting for them, already had the wedding planned out in my head and everything."

Elodie smiled and looked at the woman again, locking eyes with her. She swore her heart skipped a beat. "There's uh- there's a lot to observe tonight," she said gently in response to the girl's comment. "I'm pretty sure I just saw a couple break up on the dance floor. But that's ok, I've seen a lot more people getting together, so love remains victorious," She declared with a smile, raising up her cup a little before taking a sip.

"Oh, and just so you know, next time you talk to me like that, you might find yourself hog-tied with an apple in your mouth,"
she said playfully, giving him a cheeky wink before stepping into the elevator.

Once the doors closed, she let out a long sigh, leaning back against the wall as the tension began to ease from her body. The encounter had been frustrating, but she couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief wash over her as she put distance between herself and that awful interaction. Taking a moment to breathe deeply, she allowed herself to decompress, ready to move on from the unpleasantness of the day.

Her words rang true; they had kept in touch since they met when she was younger, sharing that innocent long-distance pen-pal "relationship." They exchanged letters filled with dreams and aspirations, and even though they lived miles apart, the bond they formed felt genuine and lasting. Now, after all these years, he still felt like family to her, just like Wren did.

Turning to Wren, she chuckled softly, a warm smile spreading across her face.
"I know this isn't really your scene, so thank you for keeping me company,"
she said, her tone playful yet sincere. She appreciated his willingness to step out of his comfort zone for her sake.
"It means a lot to have you here with me, especially tonight."

As she leaned against the window, sipping her drink and watching the world outside, Belle reflected on how life had changed since those early days of exchanging letters with Maddox. The anticipation of their reunions, the excitement of sharing life updates, and the comfort of knowing that someone cared. She turned her gaze back to Wren, feeling grateful for the friendships that had stood the test of time.
"I really hope he shows up soon,"
she added, her eyes sparkling with hope.
"I can't wait to catch up and see what he's been up to all these years!"

ennedy held his hand tightly as they navigated through the lively party, glancing around at the bustling crowd. The music pulsed around them, creating an electric atmosphere that was both exhilarating and overwhelming. While she enjoyed the vibrant scene, her attention was primarily drawn to Belle, an author she admired, and Wren, whom she recognized from his job at the local café. The familiar faces provided a comforting anchor amidst the sea of strangers.

As Bryson's voice broke through the thumping beats, she looked up at him, feeling a warm flutter in her chest. Nodding in agreement, she kept her hand firmly in his as they made their way outside, where the noise faded into a distant echo.
"That was loud,"
she chuckled, relishing the sudden silence that enveloped them like a soft blanket.

The cool night air felt refreshing against her skin, and for a brief moment, it was just the two of them, away from the chaos of the party. Just then, she noticed a few partygoers rushing past them, laughter spilling into the night. Unable to contain herself, she let out a soft giggle, the sound light and carefree. There was something undeniably special about being near Bryson—his presence made her feel grounded and alive all at once, as if the world around them had faded away, leaving just the two of them to share this intimate moment.

;; Soren
The enthusiasm in the officer's voice as he talked about things to do in town made Soren forget about being in the car for a few moments. It was touching, how passionate Officer Rosewood got about his town. A hint of a smile crossed Soren's face as he listened. He wasn't really a party person, but everything else in town sounded so cozy. It was a pleasant reminder of why he was attracted to Revelstoke in the first place.

He shook his head slightly as the man apologized for listing so much. "No, no, it's ok. It was a nice list, I can already tell the people here are going to be really nice if our interaction has been any indicator," Soren smiled somewhat nervously. For some reason, he felt his heart flutter complimenting Officer Rosewood on his kindness, but he chalked that up to his nerves.

Every time he glanced out a window, he felt his worries bubble up and invade his mind. It felt silly really, with how sweet the officer had been so far. He wished for nothing more than his anxious thoughts to go away, but they wouldn't. He just needed to distract himself with some conversation and get through this.

"I like ice skating. I don't do it very much, so I'm not very good at it. But I don't think I'm too bad either. It's been a while though, hopefully I won't be falling all over the place," He laughed nervously. "I like the sound of crystals and jewelry too, I'll have to check it out sometime."

;; Zara

POV - Héctor Castillo

Héctor gave a chuckle at Zara's remark. He felt like they were one and the same, always looking for that recognition. "Trying to play with their hearts, eh? I like your style, Amiga." Héctor stood beside her as she picked out a few dresses, giving her some input here and there. They were pretty, but they had to be a hit at this party. After all, there would be plenty of women there and if Zara wanted to gain the most attention out of all of them. She needed something bold and daring. Something that would stick out.

Héctor glanced over as Zara left the room to take care of her face mask. While she was gone, Héctor continued to decipher which dress would work the best for her, pointing to each of them while muttering to himself. "Too formal. Too many bright colors. Ehh, don't like the ribbons." Héctor continued to search until one dress in particular caught his eye.

It was a violet and gold party dress. It was shoulderless with a halter neckline. The waist was just the right amount of slim. The hem was flowy, with the back end reaching right at the calves and the front end right above the knees. The gold of the dress was eye-catching, not blindingly shiny, but still sparkling with glitter. Héctor perked an eyebrow as he took the dress out from the closet, holding it up by the coat hanger as he examined it. "Hmm. Nada mal. Es bonito."

As Zara came back in, Héctor looked back at her, examining her figure before he walked over to her with the dress. Without saying anything, he held it in front of her, getting an idea of how it complemented her. They seemed to be her colors. And the length wasn't too wacky on her. Héctor smiled to himself. Perfect. He spoke up with his panache while presenting the dress up and foremost. "This. This is the one."

Bryson
Bryson stepped out, a relieved sigh escaping his lips as the hustle and bustle of the building fell away behind him..
The crisp, cold air enveloped him, a stark contrast to the warm, stuffy atmosphere he had just left, where the heavy scent of alcohol lingered uncomfortably.

He glanced over at Kennedy and was taken aback to find their hands still entwined, a small smile playing on his lips... Despite the chaotic energy of the party still ringing in his ears, he nodded but made no move to release her hand.. it offered a smeblance of warmth, seeing as she had still been wearing his coat, but even then he saw it as a gesture he found oddly endearing.

He grimaced playfully as he nodded along to her words of the party being loud... "Yeah," he chuckled, shaking his head as he breathed deeply, “... exactly why I steer clear of parties.”

.".But.. out here.. you find it to be much..quieter.."
His eyes met Kennedy’s, a silent understanding passing between them, but just then, a throng of exuberant party-goers barreled past, prompting him to instinctively pull her aside to keep her from getting jostled... “Maybe.. i take it back.” he laughed, realizing they were still uncomfortably close to the energetic building.

"And.. here we are.. choosing to freeze our asses off.. any idea on where we should go..?” he asked, casting a casual side glance at her, searching for any hint of uncertainty.

“I mean, if you really wanted to stay, I wouldn’t mind playing the.. good sport.”
He raised an eyebrow, fully aware of the fleeting glances she had been casting toward others, and besides, she had already done enough with inviting him to come anyway.

“Your friends, i assume? ..You could always join them while I figure out how to kill time,” he teased, his grip on her hand loosening as he ran a hand through his hair.

It was a strange predicament for him, clinging to her like this..he was just a stranger, after all.
Yet, something about her presence made the alien surroundings feel surprisingly familiar, grounding him in a way he didn’t expect.

A shiver crept through him at the cold, one he would silently endure.. he didn’t want anything to disrupt the fragile bliss of the moment.

;; Brandon
Brandon sharply yanked his hand away as Elowen grabbed it to drag him into the party, but he still followed her over to the mini bar. His face remained stern, lips fixed in a small scowl, as she spoke. "I'm on the clock, Elowen. Don't be stupid."

He felt his blood boil as she kept talking. This girl was infuriating. It was like she lived in her own little bubble where she just got to do whatever she wanted, and mess with whomever she wanted to. Brandon stared at her for a second, eyebrows furrowed in frustration. He didn't say a word as he picked up the glass of bourbon she had poured and downed the whole thing. The taste was familiar, he drunk plenty of bourbon after his divorce, so he did so without the slightest flinch. He put the glass down, continuing to look Elowen in her eyes.

Brandon took a deep breath as he stepped forward, getting closer to her. "You know what I think? I think you're a selfish, reckless, spoiled child." His voice was unwavering. He continued stepping forward, backing her into a nearby doorway. He reached behind her and opened the door, which led to an unoccupied bathroom. Taking another couple steps, he made sure they were both inside before he closed the door behind them and continued speaking.

"You can't even let me do my job properly because you can't take no for an answer, you little brat." They were inches apart, tension bubbling between them. And just like that, Brandon pressed his lips to hers, letting his frustration fuel the passion of the kiss. One hand held her jaw and one hand roughly gripped her waist as they let the kiss consume them. After a few moments, he pulled his lips away, but remained close to her, his nose almost touching hers. "Is this what you wanted?"

Constable's Wild Child

Aurie glanced over at Roman, her heart fluttering as she nervously bit her lip. She could feel the weight of the moment hanging in the air, a palpable tension that sent a shiver down her spine. With a soft, measured nod, she replied,
"Yes, of course,"
her voice steady yet tinged with the slightest hint of apprehension.

As she sat up in bed, the sheets rustled around her, and she took a deep breath, trying to ground herself. There was something in Roman's demeanor that suggested the news wouldn't be as bad as her imagination had conjured. Yet, despite this flicker of hope, her nerves were still getting the best of her.

She could feel her heart racing, the rhythm quickening as she gulped softly, her throat dry with anticipation. Each passing second felt like an eternity as she waited, her eyes fixed on Roman, eager yet anxious to hear what they had to tell her. The uncertainty loomed over her like a dark cloud, but she clung to the hope that whatever came next would lead to clarity and perhaps even relief.

POV - Roman Marshall
Roman sighed as they looked down at their hands nervously, not sure how they should go about this. They didn't want to look like a square in front of Auriela. But they still wanted her to know how they truly felt about their relationship. So, Roman took a deep breath before suddenly taking Auriela by the hands and looking straight into her eyes with nothing but passion, before going on with their whole speech.

"I know I'm not the most charming person in the world. And I know I don't have alot that I can give you. I'm not some rich, handsome, rugged guy. But, I still want to take care of you. I still want to be able to provide whatever love and care I can for you. Aurie. You're a wonderful woman. You're beautiful, and smart, and funny. You make me see the fun in life. And mine's nothing to applaud. I'm just a dull person living their life in a small town. But you're so passionate and full of spark. You make just a regular day feel like a whole adventure. An adventure I want to go on with you. And I'm sorry I took away your fun tonight. You're just, y'know. Still young. You've got a whole life ahead of you and I just couldn't live with myself if I just stood by and watched you drink or partied it away. But, that's not to say I expected you to do that. I know you wouldn't. Because you're so much more than that. You're so much better than that, Aurie. I just want to make sure that you know that too. That you can see the powerful and courageous woman that I see you for. I-I..."

Roman stopped themself as they realized how much they went on for, feeling a bit sheepish before clearing their throat while blushing and looking away. "I'm sorry." They paused for a moment, looking down at Auriela's hands in theirs, while they gently caressed their thumb against the back of one. After a moment, they looked back up at Auriela with their soft blue eyes, before a small smile spread across their face. "I guess what I'm trying to say is...I want to light up your life just as much as you light up mine."
