Fantasy Whisper Wood (A fantasy adventure rp)

Scarlett smiled when Cerulean's face turned a bit pink. "Yes I guess you could say it's like acrobatics," she smiled, "I can do back handsprings and other flips. Actually I was thinking of going for a walk tomorrow to practice for a bit." Even though she wasn't a gymnast anymore, she still got the urge to run and push her limits, the adrenaline rush it gave her was like nothing else.

"It's a little hard not to be impressed after tasting that batter," she laughed. "You are amazing, the Queen is very lucky."

Scarlett felt sad that he had lost him mom, "What a beautiful way to remember your mother by," she told him touching his shoulder. "I bet she would be so proud of you, cooking for the whole kingdom. Maybe someday you can give the recipe to your own children and her memory will live on forever."

The whole room smelled delicious, she was starting to get a little tired though, it had to be after four in the morning. "Are you going to have time to sleep before breakfast or will someone else be cooking that? Though I doubt anyone will be up very early to eat." She would be surprised if anyone in the kingdom was up before noon after such a long night of partying.

Cerulean nodded. "I hope she is. One day, we will run together again." He said peacefully, a small smile on his face. "She was a bear a well." He added in expanation, forgetting that she might not know about their abilities.

As he prepared the creamy frosting, he shrugged. "If the guests dont request any more food, maybe a little. Breakfast preparations start just before sunrise, and we have about 2 hours until then. I hope a few staff come in, but its unlikely." He frowned for the briefest of moments, then brightened once more. "But that just means more cooking for me." With the cream done, he pulled out a small, metal contraption that his sister had made for him. It was a small tube, with a pointed tip and a short rob with a disc on the end. The tube itself was about the length of his forearm, comfortable to hold with one hand. Removing the rod, revealing that it had a larger disc on the other end, and setting it on the counter, he spooned the frosting into the tube, and then replaced the rod. He pressed the end-disc of the rod until a small amount of frosting came out the pointed end in a perfect circle.

"Azure made this for me, so I could frost my cakes prettier." He explained, with a small smile. Setting that aside, He retrieved the cakes and the custard. With deft hands and a sharp, tiny knife, he began creating a small hole in the center of each cake. Next he filled eat hole with the custard, which was the beautiful color of cloudberries. "But, I can always sleep after breakfast, because lunch service isnt until after noon." He said, hoping to ease her mind about how he was caring for himself.

"You turn into a bear? That's really cool," Scarlett said to Cerulean. "If I was a Shifter I bet I would turn into a kitten or a butterfly or something else completely harmless." She wondered what it was like to change into something else. Was it painful? Did you keep all your human memories? Scarlett saw it happen once but the whole thing was a little difficult to understand. Those questions were pretty personal though so they would have to wait for another time when they knew each other better.

Shifters must have more energy than humans, or need less sleep or something she thought, because she was starting to have a hard time keeping her eyes open. Still sitting on the stool she leaned on the counter resting her head on her arms. "That's a really interesting tool, you and Azure seem so smart. You make a good team," Scarlett said sleepily. "And those cakes look absolutely beautiful," she mumbled. A few strands of her dark hair fell across her face and she smiled at Cerulean, "Where do you get all your energy?"

-------

Emberly yawned, it was late and she was ready for the night to be over. She stood up to leave, the others at her table stood as well and bowed to her as she left the room. Her usual group of guards followed her down the hall and upstairs to her second bedroom. "Thank you, that will be all," she told them closing the door before they could come in. She knew they were just doing their job keeping her well protected but she was tired of not having any space. Kalora was so busy now too, it was both a blessing and a curse to have her closest friend watching out for her and the kingdom.

She took off her crown, slipped into a night dress and went out to her private balcony. The night air was cool on her skin and she wrapped her arms around herself. She had a lot to think about, it would not be long until people arrived at her gates claiming they had a right to her throne. There weren't many options available to her and Emberly hoped Kalora could come up with a miracle plan.

Emberly went back inside and climbed into bed feeling a little unnerved about her last dream and hoping that tonight would be a dreamless sleep.

Finally, he carefully topped each cupcake with the cloudberry and mint frosting, placing a chocolate covered berry in the center for a final touch.

With a triumphant smile, he took two of the cakes off the tray and set them on the counter. "Be right back." He told her, then carried the tray out. He set it down and left swiftly, before the tray was swarmed and he could be asked for anything else. Back in the kitchen, Cerulean picked up the two cakes he had set aside and offered her one, but one look at her sleepy smile made him set it aside. "Tea. Lots and lots of tea," He said with a joking smile.

"Come, Sacrlett, I cant have you sleeping in the kitchen. You'll get a kink in your neck." He tutted softly, placing a hand on her shoulder gently. Cautiously, he moved the hair off her face by touching the ends, so as to not touch her cheek, which seemed a little too intimate. "Shall I escort you to your room, m'lady?" He asked, with a charming smile.

"But what about the yummy cake?" she said clumsily getting off the stool. "You worked so hard on it... and I wanted to eat it." At this point Scarlett was so tired it was almost funny listening to her try to form complete sentences. "Maybe I could eat the cake for breakfast," she mumbled tripping on her flip flop a bit. She felt more tired than usual, not sleeping much the night before and then staying up into the early morning would do it. She was used to going to bed at a normal time and getting up early for practice.

"Okay sure, I don't know if I can find my way there on my own anyway, this place is giant. How many people even live here?" She wondered out loud. Cerulean was pretty charming, Azure definitely must be sabotaging his dates there was no other logical reason why there wouldn't be a second date. She was glad that thought had stayed in her head. "Do you know where my room is?" she asked "It's in a long hall with lots of guest rooms." Scarlett began walking out of the kitchen and past the party still taking place she noticed the Queen wasn't there anymore and the crowd had gotten smaller. "Looks like you'll be able to have a nap soon," she said with a smile, walking into the hall and tripping a little again.

"Thank you for staying with me so I don't have to walk through the palace alone, it's really nice of you," Scarlett told Cerulean with a sleepy smile.

"I will save it for you for breakfast, now come on." Cerulean chuckled, taking hold of her hand and gently looping her arm through his to guide her. He made sure to walk slowly enough for the exhausted girl to keep up safely. "A great many people live here, most are members of the court and the rest are guests or staff." He explained in a soothing voice. "And yes, I am very familiar with where the guests stay. I do my best work for the people who stay in those rooms." He glanced in the room as well, relief rushing into him when he saw the smaller crowd. "I sure hope so, my dear." He murmured absently, suddenly wondering if Azure was sleeping yet. She usually stayed up extremely late after funerals, dealing with the emotions they brought on in private. If only he hadnt been too busy to check up on her..

Cerulean quickly steadied Scarlett, now a little worried about her state. She must not have slept at all the night before. "Its no trouble. With everything thats been happening, and your current state, I wanted to be sure you go to bed safe and sound." He reassured her, although her praise and the smile she gave him made him blush a little.

Eventually Scarlett saw a familiar hall and found her door. "Yay we found it, I was worried I might have to sleep in a hallway," she giggled. "Thank you so much for everything Cerulean," she told him smiling. "I'll come find you when I wake up for the agreed upon cake breakfast." She was half joking, everything was funnier when you're tired but she really did want to eat that cake. Despite being absolutely exhausted she had a really good night. "Really though, I had a lot of fun. Thanks for keeping me company when everyone else looked like they wanted me to leave."

She smiled at him one more time before going into her room. She had never been more excited to see a bed before. Kicking off her flip flops she saw a fresh pair of clothes sitting on a chair by the bed. Awesome, she thought, she could finally get out of her jean shorts and maybe not get so many weird looks. She'd worry about that in the morning though, now it was time for sleep. Scarlett flopped onto the bed, blowing out the candling lighting her room and falling asleep almost instantly.

Lucas rolled awake from his makeshift, hay bed. He let out a huge yawn, stretching his arms, and wiping the noticeable droll from his face, he got up and looked around. "Well Smoker, looks like its a brand new da-" Lucas stopped talking once he notice Jacob has left. "He left... without telling me... Well, fine then, guess I'll eat this apple by myself." He told himself as he pulled an apple out of his bag. He smiled and took a giant chunk out of the apple. He walked out of the stables and looked around, enjoying the fresh cool air, He smiled, "Man, this sure is a nice place... Too bad I'll be leaving soon." Lucas has a hint of sorrow when he made the comment. He'd only been here a few days but, he feels he owes so much to this place, he remembered when he heard the Prince was murdered, and remembered the failure he had been in tracking anything. He looked at his apple and sighed. "I've lost my appetite." He dropped the apple to the ground and started to walk.

Walking up, Dominic looked around, he didn't liked how thing looked in the room he slept in. Removing the covers, he got up and yawned. Stretching his arms he walked out of the Healers Hut and looked around. "What a lovely place, so happy, not having a care in the world. How insufferably boring... Where are the blood covered streets... Or was I dreaming that?" Dominic thought to himself and shrugged and continued to walk. Hes never been to Whisper before, even though hes not impressed with the place, he might as well look around.

"Come back to the kitchen anytime." Cerulean said warmly, before watching her enter the room. "Goodnight, Scarlett." He said, pulling the door shut as he left. The chef made on stop in the kitchen, placing her cake under a glass top to keep it fresh, and picking up his own. On his way back to his quarters, he ate it peacefully, letting the memories it brought on roll over him. He was still happily recalling his beloved mother when he climbed into bed for a quick nap, before starting the next day.

Azure didnt go to bed that night. She had ended up making two stalking tiger pendants, although she wasnt sure what she would do with them. Perhaps she would give one to the Queen. The shifter nodded, standing and heading upstairs to change into her usual attire. The sight of her bed was too welcoming though, and as the sun began to rise, she curled up for a quick nap.

@StoneWolf18

A guard walked up to Dysis, the guard looked confused and rubbed his chin. "Excuse me miss, how long have you've been leaning on this wall?" The Guard ask with curiosity and confusion, he was surprised that none of the guards seen her if she'd been there the entire night. "Hey, are you one of the humans?"

Dysis apparently had slid down the wall and had fallen asleep. When the guard shook her awake, she realized that she had forgotten to go to bed last night. Slowly standing, being incredibly sore from the position she had been in she answered the guard's question "Yeah...I'm a human..."

The guard sighed and looked around. "Well, I'm busy right now, so I can't help you but..." He says as he takes out a small bag of money, continuing to look around making sure no guard- or a certain mercenary, sees him. "Go explore the town for now, maybe rent a place to sleep, it might be more comfortable than laying on the ground against a wall." The guard smiled and pointed to a direction, "That's the way out of the palace, now then, I must be off..." The guard waved and walked off.

(I'm getting attached to my random guard filler character I've made... I might make him a character if the limit of making of characters increases :P MAYBE...)

Walking around, continuing to look around his surroundings, Dominic bumped into Jacob. Looking obviously annoyed, Dominic decided to ask a question. "Excuse me, do you work for the palace in any shape or form?" Dominic asked curiously, he wanted to know so he could have the right emotions going for him.

"Opps...Im sorry!" Jacob said as he felt someone bump into him. "And no, I'm sorry, I dont work in the palace." He said to the man, not really sure where he came from.

Dominic looked at him with a glare of hatred, he smiled since he didn't need to be all "good and nice" to this person. "You got a lot of nerve...Next time, stay out of my way, brat!" placing his head on Jacob's head, he pushed him aside and continued walking.

Emberly yawned and gracefully climbed out of bed. She was lucky, no dreams had bothered her last night. It was closer to lunch than breakfast and she was still a little tired but today was a new day and she had things to do. She brushed out her wavy red hair and put on a lavender gown. As she stepped out of her room four guards bowed to her and began following her to the dinning room. She would have a small bite to eat before she did anything and her usual tea. After that she would head straight to the throne room. Her people probably had questions and concerns that needed to be addressed so she had decided to open the throne room for visits. Of course anyone wanting an audience with the Queen would have all weapons taken from them and would be escorted one at a time by her elite royal guards. Of course her trusted friends would be allowed to come and go as they pleased and she had sent them all letters warning them to be cautious of unknown travellers.

The dinning room smelled delicious as usual and she knew she had Cerulean to thank for that. Even if by chance it wasn't him preparing the food it would be someone he had mentored and trained. She wanted to do something nice for him, maybe grant him a vacation? But he loved that kitchen so much she wasn't sure if that would be a reward or a punishment. Emberly instructed the guards to stay in the doorways and to let any of her friends through if they happened to wander in for food or tea.

She loved this room, the way the sunlight came through the large windows on one wall and the plants grew around them creeping inside in some spots, the beautiful chandeliers that lit up the room in the night, it was perfect. She was a little surprised that someone had managed to clean up after last night's party that had gone well into the early morning hours. While she waited for her tea her thoughts drifted to Kalora and Michaelis. Emberly hoped they had gotten some sleep last night but even more she hoped that they were coming up with a plan on how to handle the recent attacks. Her trusted friend was always the one who gave her council in dangerous times, though this was by far the most danger they had even been in.

Cerulean woke the next morning feeling groggy and grumpy. His mood only worsened when he reached the kitchen and found only one staff member there and ready to work. he thanked her, and then they got to work. Breakfast was a quick event- most in the castle wasnt even awake for the meal. After, Cerulean went about fixing lunch and the Queen's tea, as he always did, while his single assistant cleaned up from breakfast. It was exhausting, but he made a pot of lemon tea and kept it warm for the both of them. After three cups, he felt alert enough to deal with other people. He called in some maids that had nothing else to do and put them to work getting out lunch to the palace. Then, he prepared the Queen's try himself. A guard had told him she was waiting for tea and something light, so he had to put a move on. The chef quickly prepared one of her favorite soups, and included a few slices of still-warm bread. He placed it on a tray with her tea and carried it out, making sure to put a cheery smile on his face.

"Good day Cerulean," Emberly smiled, "I didn't see much of you last night, did you have a good time?" She sipped her tea the warmth soothing her. The soup smelled delicious, she broke off a piece of bread and dipped it in the bowl taking a small bite. She knew she didn't have long today but with all the chaos lately she was concerned for those close to her.

-------

Scarlett woke up feeling well rested. She dressed in the clothes that had been left out for her, a brown corset top and matching pants. They were a perfect fit and much better than her jean shorts and tank top. She practically skipped down to the kitchen for cake breakfast. She walked in looking around but Cerulean wasn't there, just one other person who told her that he was with the Queen. Scarlett peeked out of the kitchen and into the dinning room. They seemed to be talking, oh well she thought, I'll just wait here. She sat at the little table she was at last night.

Jacob caught himself before he fell over and looked back at the man. He rubbed his head and waved his arm to him, even if he couldn't see. "Sorry man! Have a nice day!" He turned and grumbled about practicing customer service for his new job.

Dominic continued walking with his hands behind his head. He seemed rather bored and impatient. He wanted to find that girl again, to create a "friendship" with that person. He's done it before with other people before trading them off to get a rather large paycheck. Seeing all the people going about there merry ways annoyed him, he wanted to get the hell out of here as soon as possible, maybe set in on fire as he left.

Lucas yawned, he greeted some random people as he walked passed them, some of them, weren't so pleased to see him. I guess having a random panic attack will do that to people. But, he ignored the negative side of things and focused on the positive side, like the small children that ran around in the streets with a long ribbon. He smiled, he started to remember the time when he did that with his best friend Ethan. Ethan and him were like two peas in a pod, they couldn't be separated, they would always go on wacky, fun adventures. As he remembered the fond memories he remembered the day that turned his world upside down. Shaking his head he looked around and found a familiar face, it was Jacob. Waving his head excitedly he started to run of to him " Yo, Smoker, why did you leave with out tell-" He was interrupted as he saw someone else familiar who just wen't by his vision. Quickly turning his head, he looked back with a cold chill running down his spine, but no one he knew was there...He placed his hand on his chest to calm down, "No, it couldn't have been him! What are the chances of Dominic being here!!!" Lucas thought to himself, feeling the same hatred he felt that day. He walked up to Jacob and shook his head trying to calm down. "Sorry, forgot what I was going to tell you..."

"Well, lovely, an't this just lovely!" Dominic mumbled angrily to himself as he hid behind a barrel. "Now I need to do my operation while "Moronic Hero" is here too!!!" Clenching his fist angrily, he pounded the ground. He didn't think of all places he'd meet up with Lucas. He had a realization and smirked, laughing. "Well, if I fail at killing the Queen then I can always just kill you instead..." Dominic smirked "After all, we never did finish our battle, you'd just better hope that I can kill the Queen!" Dominic laughed and walked into an alley way.

Cerulean gave the Queen a small bow, keeping his smile carefully. "I was very busy, but I cant complain. In my business, busy is always good." He said confidently, watching her carefully. "I am very pleased to see you looking well, my Queen. I dare say you should sleep until this time more often." He gave a soft laugh, and then caught movement at the corner of his eye. He glanced over just in time to see Scarlett disappearing back into the kitchen. "My biggest apologies, but I must excuse myself. It is another busy day. If you need anything at all, please send for me." With a deep bow, he ducked out of the room, stepping back into the kitchen. "Ah, Scarlett, good morning," He greeted happily, although his smile faltered a little, revealing his exhaustion for the briefest second.

"Morning," she said cheerfully, stretching her arms. "Or afternoon... I'm not sure," she laughed confusion on her face. "You look sleepy still? Did you have time for a nap?" she didn't mean to come across bossy, she was just concerned for him since they had stayed up so late the night before. Even if it wasn't her fault and he would have been up that late no matter what, she still felt a little responsible. She was happy it had worked out that way though.

Scarlett's emerald eyes sparkled with a hint of deviousness, "I believe we are having cake for breakfast today." She jumped out of the chair and rushed over to the counter where the small cake was sitting under the glass dome. "It looks so good, but we should share because there's only one left." She was practically bouncing with energy, far too much for someone that didn't get much sleep the night before but she was just so happy. It was the cake, the new clothes, and Cerulean, there were just so many things to be happy about, and Scarlett was also a morning person.

Dysis watched the guard walk off. Fingering the pouch, she didn't want to risk it, yet was interested in what the surrounding area looked like. Thinking about the possibility, Dysis wandered into the dining room, noticing all its occupants.

Cerulean laughed, and provided the correct time of day, "Its about noon, dear." The he gave Scarlett a sheepish smile. "Not as much as you wanted me to, I suppose." He said, her almost motherly concern making him feel good. The shifter was completely tired, and needed sleep desperately, but there was too much to do and not enough help/ He watched her retrieve the cake with a distant smile, and then realized he needed another cup of tea. Pouring it carefully, he shook his head. "I had one last night. Besides, if its a good as you think it will be, you wont want to share." He said, pulling up a stool to sit by her. He could spare a little time for her. Her energy was lifting him up, making him feel a little more capable to handle the day.

"Are you sure?" Scarlett asked with a giggle, "I'm willing to share some now before I have a bite and change my mind."

She watched Cerulean pour a cup of tea, which seemed to be the drink of choice here. "Any plans for the day? I was thinking of maybe going swimming or for a walk in the forest." There were so many things to do in this world that she was having a hard time deciding which to do first. Scarlett took a bite of the cake, "This is amazing, no wonder everyone wanted more last night. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life this would be it." He was right, now that she'd tasted it she didn't want to share a single bite of it.
