A werewolf pack lives at a Forest Ranger Station in California.
Everyone in the pack is a Ranger.
The human rangers have no idea that we are a pack. And we'd like to keep it that way. But we still consider them pack mates.
Our enemies are the Werewolf Hunters.
They've captured our kind and rangers alike in the past before. But we've rescued them. So we'd like to say that we know what we're doing.
But they get smarter and smarter every year.
There are other packs in California.
They suffer the same wrath of the hunters that we do.
This is why we have the Annual Pack Ally Meeting every year. This is when packs professionally gather together and decide on allies, or frenemies.
At the end of the day...
We are still family. At the end of the day you still enjoy the slice of life. At the end of the day we all protect each other.
There may be danger all around us. But honor our badge, our family, and our pack.
WEREWOLF FORMS
You can shift from human, wolf, or lycan.
You can shift at will. You are never set to shift at certain times/days.
Your clothes will rip. There's no magic to keep the clothes on after shifting back to human form. You either need to have the clothes with you somehow or be near your clothes after the shift.
You have night vision on all forms- human, wolf, and lycan. Neither shift should affect that ability.
Your senses, in your human form, are more heightened than that of an average human. Your senses, in your wolf/lycan form, are more heightened than your human form.
You are never stuck in one form for your entire life. At some point, whether in the near future, or the future - you will need to shift and you have to accept that. But that can be up to you on when that will be for your character.
LUNAR CYCLE
The full moons affect all werewolves in some way, shape or form but it depends on personality and experience.
They typically affect emotions and corrupt them to be bipolar, this is often uncontrollable.
This occurs every two months until the group can manage a monthly event. And keep up with the timeline. Normally it would be monthly irl but for the group it will be bimonthly. Sometimes it can be hard to finish rps in one entire month and continue a new one for the same event.
You don't have to shift in order to participate in the full moons. The full moons do not affect shifting, unless you're a bitten and inexperienced werewolf. But you can be a bitten werewolf, and have control of your shifts on the full moon.
For role play purposes, the full moon will last the entire month for people to have chances to participate.
BORN OR BITTEN
You can choose your character to be born or bitten. It's possible that even if you're a born werewolf, someone in your family might not be born with the gift. It's also possible that you could be a bitten werewolf, and your family are not werewolf creatures.
After the bite, your first shift/change will often take place a few minutes up to a few hours. But it's very rare that the first shift is delayed and doesn't happen until a few days afterwards.
The bite can only be done in bloodlust and/or a purpose:
Such as biting to change someone can save someones life but can also kill them there's a 50-50 chance
Yes, generations can be skipped. Example: If your grandma was a werewolf but your father was not, it's possible you can have your grandma's genes and be a werewolf. But it doesnt work for bitten.
PACK BOND
Upon being officially accepted by the alpha, a strong connection will be sealed. This is a spiritual relationship between the members and the alpha.
Because of this connection, the pack can communicate through telepathy.
Everyone can communicate with each other regardless of their rank.
When the alpha is no longer alpha, or the alpha dies, the spiritual connection breaks. And would thenceforth need to renew the connection with a new alpha.
If you decide to leave the pack and come back in the future, you would have to rebond with the alpha to regain the pack bond.
If the alpha kicks you out of the pack, for whatever reason, and you come back to join again, they need to reseal the bond as well.
BONDING -sensitive subject. read with caution-
Simply put: soul mates.
This can be done with or without the character's permission, but for consent's sake, this is NOT allowed in the group itself. However, for lore purposes, truth be told that if someone were to bond with someone in this universe, they would be mates forever. Bonding is also known as the "knot" in which case, the...yeah we're not explaining that. You can google it : D long story short, you can be "stuck" for 1-2 hours or even more before the male can finally release himself from the--- so how's your day? This is another way for females to get pregnant. Truth be told, this can also occur through anal. If someone ELSE were to bond with a mated pair, who has already bonded as mates, it is not recommended and in fact dangerous. Because it is soul-damaging to the pair. There is a 50-50 chance that the couple could bond again, even after someone tried to bond with said person.
((Please note since this website does not support sexual content as part of their rules, this is purely just for the lore and will not be tolerated for the group. This is something that can be avoided in role play.))
THE VOID
Think of your human form as a vessel for your wolf's mind. While you're in your human form, your wolf is "put off to the side" in the back of your mind. They're not necessarily put away for life, and it's not a place that we know the location of. It's like a spiritual existence, it's not quite heaven but it's not quite hell, and it's not quite the after life either. Your wolf, depending on how strong the connection is between human and wolf, can still see what your human can see. They're in your mind, but they're not quite your conscious. But for the time spent as a human, your wolf is fully aware of your surroundings. This is how you can have heightened senses, because your wolf is still connected to your mind. You share the same body with your wolf, but it's possible that your wolf could have a different personality. Or you could be the same person.
If you or your wolf is in the void for too long, you will experience fatigue and tiresome.
You cannot communicate with other people in the void. It's a personal cellar.
SILVER POISONING
Not all werewolves are allergic to silver. You can choose if you want your character to be allergic.
In order to be allergic, the silver needs to come in contact with your bloodstream. From this point, it can spread throughout your system and clog up blood cells. This causes an excruciating amount of pain to the point of possible death.
This requires professional medical help, which includes a certain machine that can flush it out of your system. Yes, this requires needles in order to do so. This is the correct way to help the healing process go a little faster.
HEALING
Werewolves aren't perfect. Just like humans. Nobody is. While werewolves can heal, that doesn't mean they can heal magically within seconds of the wound. That only means that they can heal faster than the average human.
However, bitten werewolves, depending on their experience with their wolf - it's possible that they will heal even slower than the average born werewolf. Unless they are super in touch with their wolf.
Anyone can heal from a scratch within a few seconds as a werewolf. But if you want your characters to have scars, the scar has to be suuuper deep. It can't just be a cut/slash into the skin. It has to literally ruin tissue/muscle for the scar to not heal. Otherwise, your character won't have scars since we heal so well.
HUNTING
While hunters can hunt for the pack, the pack should still hunt altogether to bond more. The highest rank is fed first in respects, and the line of order is fed down to omegas. You can hunt in human form as long as you have weapons/claws/fangs.
Do NOT think you can just take down more than one animal at the same time. this is god modding.
You can hunt in either wolf or lycan form as well. Yes you can go shopping for food but hunting is good for poor people : D
Make sure to hunt on hunting grounds and not where humans can see.
AGE DIFFERENCES
As a werewolf, you physically age with your body. But your appearance is a little slow, like ten years slower.
You will almost always look ten years younger than your actual age. Since a lot of people irl can get away with this, this doesn't really change your identity a whole lot, but it's something you should still be concerned about when you get to your 80s.
You can live up to 300 years old. Normally when people get to their 100s, they start changing their identity and they'd have to move to a new location where they won't be judged by their age. A lot of elderly werewolves typically move in with their packs and retire from working in the government.
PROTECTION
For safety purposes, we will assume that Hospitals have werewolves in every department. They have their own way of helping other werewolves. You could say the hospital has their own pack per say. But it's not part of the story. They have their own security system set up so they can bring in werewolves in dire need of survivalists.
EYE COLOR
Nobody is quite sure why alphas have red eyes. Not even the alphas know of the story but there are myths of why red eyes have a stronger intimidating connection than that of a regular member. Some say that a druid in the 1800s poisoned a werewolf for killing their loved ones on the full moon, and made them drink red wine, which in the end the werewolf found out it was the blood of his loved ones instead. And it became a curse from thenceforth.
Some say that the evil cursed the alphas of every pack in the world to take over the alpha and control their bodies whenever their eyes are red. And that's how you know the evil visited the pack.
Alas, we don't know what is true, but we can say for sure that not all alphas are evil or influenced by the darkness.
Depending on the human eye color, the wolf's eye color shines brighter. Example: if you have green eyes, they would shine a golden/green. If they have brown eyes, they would shine a bright copper/brown.
Alphas
Needed: 0
Headcount: 1
The alpha is the leader of the pack, easily identifiable by their heads held high, and confident demeanors. Being an alpha takes more than just raw muscle, a true leader is both mentally and physically powerful, looking out for all and ensuring members obey orders and play their part. Alphas typically are the first to eat at meals and the first to enter spaces, during battles it is common for them to be on the front line. During hunts, although all help in taking down the chosen prey the alpha is the one to deliver the fatal blow, putting their own life on the line for the greater good of the family.
They must be active in chat and/or group in order to keep their pack active and alive.
(BETAS ARE ONLY WHEN THE PACK IS TOO FULL FOR ME TO PRIORITIZE BY MYSELF BUT I HAVE VERY FEW MEMBERS TO CONSIDER HAVING BETAS RIGHT NOW - please apply for the ranks below)
Betas
I won't be accepting betas until I have too many members to handle myself. Please apply when there are 8-10 members.
Needed: 0
Headcount: 0
The betas second in command when the alphas are not present. The average pack has two betas, one female and one male, these are trusted individuals who, like the alphas, are seen as leaders within the family. Their role is to assist the alpha in making decisions, keeping order, and insuring the rules are followed. When the alphas are away it is the betas who spent up and lead until they return, it is common for beta to cub sit while the rest of the family is away. They must be strong willed and confident, but also patient, loyal, and understanding.
Betas have to prove to not only the alpha but the pack as well that they have earned this position, before they are promoted.
I will only allow betas after every position has been filled, unless I absolutely need someone to help guide the pack when I'm absent. This is a position I will be picky to choose, please don't be offended if I deny the application. This position requires a few tasks and the approval of not only the alpha but the pack as well.
We don't have Deltas or Gammas. Yet.
"A pack is stronger in numbers"
Healer
Needed: 2
Headcount: 0
The medics of the pack, they are reasonable for tending to the wounds of the pack and its members. Their duties include using healing though medical and other means to keep the pack healthy.
Guardians [Interior]
Needed: 4
Headcount: 0
The difference between guardians and warriors are that Guardians will always be outside and making sure the outer parts of the territory is safe, and willing to defend the pack whenever something/someone attacks. Warriors can protect from within the pack and make sure everyone is safe in the cabins.
Warriors [Exterior]
Needed: 4
Headcount: 0
The defenders for the pack, they are reasonable for the safety of the pack and its members. Some of their duties are going on patrols and teaching young/ new warriors the art of combat, but they do not have to be outside at all times to be prepared for any sudden attacks. Warriors also train the young to become fighters of the packs and teach them self defense in case they become Guardians.
They can stay within the territory but when duty calls, they will be outside of the territory to protect the pack and prevent any harm coming into the territory's perimeter.
Hunters
Needed: 4
Headcount: 0
Providers of fresh meats for the pack and to help ensure that they will have enough food for the winter months, this is for role playing purposes. The duties of the hunter are to teach young/new hunters the art of the hunt.
Members/Subordinates:
Needed: 4
Headcount: 0
Neither leaders nor the omegas, subordinates, often time called bidders, make up the bulk of the pack. Often many ranks can be found in this group from hunters, peacemakers, cub sitters, deltas, and healers. Often time younger and faster wolves from this rank do much of the "leg work" of chasing prey animals, wearing them down until the stronger but slower alpha catches up to deliver the fatal bite.-
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING BELOW UNTIL WE HAVE 10 MEMBERS
Pups-
Needed: 0
Headcount: 0
We don't need pups right now. You can have one as a second character after joining.
Pups who join the group must be at last 8-12 years old. Pups who have grown up in the group are under 12 years old. In wolf years, 12 years old for humans are the adult age of wolves. They are under the care of the den mothers till they come of age
Den mothers-
Needed: 0
Headcount: 0
The female wolves that tend to the pups, helping them in their education and teaching them how to fulfill their future roles. The den mothers are reasonable for the day to day care of pups and helping them find mentors as needed.
NOTE-the alphas select the den mothers and set how many they want in their pack
Omegas:
Needed: 0
Headcount: 0
Often nicknamed the pack clowns, omega wolves are at the bottom of the heap, being the last to eat and are even picked on by the other more dominant members. Although they has the least say within the family, omegas are very important, defusing tensions by intimating play and joking around - they ensure the pack lightens up once in a while. Personality has a lot to do with this rank but in certain situations an individual can be placed here as punishment.
IN CHARACTER
- Stay true to the character as much as possible. Don't do anything the character wouldn't do in order to do something you want them to do. This goes along with "don't be Over Powered".
- Be as realistic as possible. While this is a supernatural werewolf rp group, we like to be realistic and not dramatic. If things don't add up, they need to make sense.
- Just because you know something, doesn't mean your character knows it as well. This could go along with "stay true" and or "be realistic".
- Promotions are decided by the alpha of the pack. Betas, while they act as the alpha in charge when the alpha is absent, will help make those decisions. But whoever is possibly being promoted, they don't make that choice but it can be suggested and welcomed.
- Don't shift in public! Stay in human form as much as possible around other humans.
- Your characters strength, reflexes, and senses all depend on their experience, age, and usage.
- Most werewolves can lift up a car with two hands from the trunk or hood, but they shouldn't be able to lift up an entire truck with one hand effortlessly unless they've worked up the stamina and spent a lot of time exercising in that form. Even then, it's logical to use both hands especially the first time trying.
- If your human form was never able to catch an 'unexpected' football, or even a pen rolling off a desk, (before being bitten) then they would be able to act on it as a werewolf. A typical werewolf should be able to catch a football or something being thrown at them unexpectedly. If they haven't been able to dodge a punch, they should be able to as werewolves (unless they're really really that bad).
- All of your senses, as well as night vision, should be heightened as an average werewolf. You should be able to smell and/or hear things 6 miles away compared to an average human.
- We live in territory. We don't live in town. In territory there are cabins that our rangers are assigned to when they graduate as a forest ranger. It is a signed contract that states the ranger will live in this cabin for a certain amount of years during their service.
- Your character doesn't have to live in the cabins in order to be in the group but it's highly advised and easier.
- Your character can know about the plot. If you would like to add more to the plot make sure the admins approve first.
- The legal age to be a forest ranger is 18 years old. You can decide if you want your character to be a ranger since the young age or if they become a ranger at an older age.
- In order to have a rank from within the pack, you need to be a werewolf in the pack or if you're human, then you need to be very close friends/family with the werewolves in the pack. Your character also needs to be graduated from high school.
- There may be NPCs who are human at the station, but you can join as a human as well.
- As human, you can decide if your character knows about the station being a pack of werewolves or not - but if you decide that they don't know about the pack, they can't just randomly figure it out, this needs to be planned.
- As a pack, due to safety precautions, we'd like to keep the humans from discovering our species. If the humans at the station somehow figure out who we are, we can make an exception so they can join the pack as long as their is trust.
- The plot says that it's your first day as a forest ranger. You've gone through all of the course training! You can decide if you've been raised at the station, or if you were transfered to the station in order for it to BE your first day.
IN GROUP
- First thing's first, this role play is only in THIRD PERSON NARRATIVE, we don't allow first or second person.
- You must have 5+ sentences, preferably a detailed paragraph and not short sentences.
- This group is a semi-advanced literature role play group, not everyone has to write impeccably but you should have a common sense of the mechanics in grammar.
- Your first character is free. You need to earn the currency to gain more characters.
- This is generally an order turn-based role play group. Which means people take turns to reply in a role play and go in order from who's first to who's last. But if you can handle a non - order role play, by all means, rp to your heart's content as long as everyone in the rp is content.
- You cannot change from modern to medieval time era. Stick with the plot please.
- Do NOT force relationships, that will not be tolerated here. If you're here to look purely for a mate, please understand that it may take time and/or rejection.
- This group is designed for mature audience. Meaning if you can't handle how we role play and how we talk then this is not the group for you. If you are too young to understand certain things such as terminology, either look it up in dictionary.com or ask an admin in DM. We are all adults here, it doesn't look good for a 12 year old to ask what everything means.
- Follow the rules of the Activity Checks in order to stay in the group and avoid getting kicked.
- For now you can only have up to 4 room mates. Most Rangers have 2 individuals per cabin. They typically sign an agreement to live in this cabin up to four, six, eight or ten years.
- Respect not only other members, and the admins, but also yourself. Please avoid throwing pity parties and keep this place a safe haven for everyone to feel welcome and enjoy a fun environment.
- Keep drama outside of the server/group as much as possible. But drama in character is welcomed as long as it's planned and approved by the role players.
- Only use the NPCs currently made for the group. If you wish to add background characters to your role play of your own, please look at the Currency for information. NPCS SHOULD NOT BECOME REGULAR MEMBERS.
IN SERVER
- Since this is only one pack, the roles in the server will be organized by your rank. But you will join as a "Spectator". Until you've been officially accepted by the alpha in role play, you guys
- Conversations about politics, religious beliefs etc will not be tolerated in public chats. This will be moved to DM if it occurs. Jokes are okay but we should be talking about the group in the server as much as possible.
- You can advertise your group and comissions under the advertising category. But you are not allowed to make that the number one thing you talk about. Let the people decide if they want to do anything with your ads and don't pressure them.
- Please keep in mind the purpose of this group: to role play. Keep conversations as relevant to the group as possible.
- Fighting in the servers with others, especially admins, is not tolerable and will be a punishable offense.
- For breaking the rules you will be messaged by the admin team in DM: however we may give gentle reminders in chats if we need to.
- you will be reminded/warned once for breaking the rules and we hope to see improvement from there
- the second reminder will for breaking the rules will result in a kick. and you will be kicked for 1 month. during that time you still need to turn in activity checks.
- the third reminder is an instant ban and you will no longer be joining with us in the future with the same character. but you can join with another character.
- And of course please abide by the rules of RPN
IN FIGHTS
- DONT GOD MOD.
- Give your opponents a chance to fight back or defend themselves in their next reply.
- If you're writing in past tense, make sure you treat it as present tense.
- Example: "He aimed for the throat, hoping to get his claws into the skin."
- Bad example: "He hit the kid's stomach, blood spewing from his guts after the hit."
- You don't have to role play this particular type of scene in an order. If you know you can handle a non-order role play, then by all means, reply to your heart's content as long as everyone is okay with it.
THESE ARE THE DO'S AND DONT'SDO: if you wish. . .

Since we live in somewhat of a camp next to the station, things can get very messy and out of hand. It's always nice to have a nice clean home right? Each cabin is expected to be clean, the lawn should be mowed once a week, and the front gates should be guarded for visitors coming in. There are things that every ranger is assigned to do, but the most important thing they need to focus on are the visitors themselves. They need to either be guided and/or watched to make sure they're not lost, or in danger. We need to be their in times of need and always protect. Here are the tasks that everyone should be doing but it's not mandatory. It gives people something to do/role play.
As far as cooking goes, we don't necessarily feed the visitors, they can bring their own food as long as they don't litter. However, we have a traditional Breakfast Time each morning before 8am. At around 7am, we get the kitchen in the station prepared and then rangers normally wake up at about 6-7am to prepare it. 8am is typically the time for breakfast to be served. We all sit at the breakfast tables that are located outside of the station near by. It's a great time for everyone to bond before the day commences. Tours happen daily and the rangers guide a group of visitors in pairings/groups.
- CLEANING
- COOKING
- GARDENING
- GUARDING/SECURITY
- LIFE GUARDING
- TOURISTS
This is where the fun part begins! Keep in mind most of the events will be plot related. Activities will be random things for both characters and group members to do. These won't always be "role plays" and they will be hosted at random times. This will always be updated, and this will be announced in the server, where you will be guided to the correct information (:
Not everyone has to participate - this is not mandatory but it's fun to be involved in~
APRIL EVENTS 2018:
- Looking for Admins! (TBA)
- Welcome Meeting! (TBA)
- Hallowwn Party!
We're expecting a lot of members to live here like a family. And living in the cabins are one of the greatest ways for our members to bond with each other. It is possible to change room mates in the future, you don't have to live with one person for the rest of your life. However - We will randomize room mates in order to be equal and fair to everyone in the group. It wouldn't be fair if people started requested certain room mates right off the bat. However, if something doesn't ever work out in your favor for whatever reason, and we have enough members in the group - we can invest in room requests. We'd like to avoid anyone feeling left out in the future.
REQUEST FORM:
Username:
Character Name:
Character Age:
Room Number: (Leave This Empty)
Copy and paste this form and submit it in the comments under the INFO thread (This thread). You will need to edit your comment after we've decided what cabin you will live in. It could take a few days for the admins to decide and reply if we need to. Thank you for your time!
For now all you need to know is there will be 10 cabins, plus the station. They all surround a big fire place where the rangers normally hang out. Nobody is currently assigned right now, and we will start organizing room mates as we go.
WHY:
While we understand that people can be busy with life, this is going to be an active group. We need to see how capable our members are in remaining active, or if they choose to idle and remain inactive. This is also the best way for the admins to determine who really is role playing, versus who is quiet for an entire month.
We're not saying to constantly role play with everyone per day, that can be stressful and takes away the fun. However, we've made it simplified for our members to supply us with activity checks.
RULES:
Every 1st of each month the checks will be announced and expected to have applications of all members.
If you miss one month, you will be warned. If you miss another month, it's a second warning, third month is a kick.
Fill out this form below and submit it in the activity check chat.
DONT CHAT in the activity check chat. This chat should purely be for submitted forms.
If you don't have a finished role play, it needs to have 15+ posts/replies to be acceptable.
You need to submit a detailed paragraph/summary explaining what happened in a role play that you had in that month. And you must provide a link of your role play, which a lot of people like to save on a google docs or Word.

Summary:
Much like the Currency, we'll need you to submit this form under the INFO thread on every 1st of the month.
As of right now we're not requiring our members to submit a certain amount of pack coins for activity checks. That may or may not be invested in the future when more members join.
1. Cabins for all Rangers to live in
2. Undecided
3. Undecided
4. Bath House
- Visitors and Rangers can wash themselves after hikes before they head home. Although each cabin has their own facilities it can get a bit hard trying to share one bathroom between four roommates. Because of this there is a Bathhouse that stays locked though each member is given a key. There are three doors allowing a section for men, women, or neutral. There are small ventilation windows just under the edge of the roof - but if anyone were to be caught trying to catch a glimpse through them angry pack mates would be the least of their problems compared to the alpha.
5. The Main Lobby (Aka Station)
This is the front of what the station looks like. It was difficult to find a cabin that looked similar to the one on the map so we apologize that not everything is perfect right now. This is also where Chief's office is found. Both the alpha and the beta have their own bedroom in this current station away from the office, in the back.
6. Mess Hall/Meeting
There is little to say about this building. Once used as the camp mess hall it has now had its large back storage room converted into a simple hang out. There is a decent sized tv, a popcorn maker, and even a pool table. There is also a large projector nestled away and a screen that can be pulled down from the rafters for a pack sized movie night or during the rarer serious meetings.
7. Gift Shop
This is where visitors can buy things they would need for their hike (water contatiners, backpacks, etc) or even grab a few gifts.
8. Fire pit:
Although Chief has nothing against a good party the fire pit is actually there just to burn debris. As long as broken glass, trash, or metal stays out of it Chief is fine with anyone using it whenever they wish. There are a few logs made into makeshift benches and a neat pile of wood kept nearby. The fire pit is decently sized and could easily be used for a bonfire - if cleared with the Alpha.
9. Storage
Just as the name suggests it is a simple storage building that is usually kept locked. It is where the projector is hidden as well as any extra blankets, tools, and anything else that the pack could possibly need. Each member is given a key once they’ve settled into their cabins.
10. Medical Infirmary
Pretty self explanatory. In any case of emergencies this is where visitors would be taken to for medical attention. The rangers who work in this building have medical degrees and the right schooling, they are professionally trained. But if it's anything they can't handle, the visitors are taken straight to the hospital. As far as werewolves, everything is handled here at the station.
11. (Uncharted) Watch Tower
This is a tower far away (Walking distance) from the station. Almost a mile away from the campground sits an old tower and yet another abandoned cabin.
[/imagefloat]- WIP/TBA -Radio Codes (10-4 and 10-20 are commonly used) -During times of high risks there will be Curfews to prevent serious injuries
- (I can't get this in a bullet form for some reason, it wants to stay in paragraph form no matter what I do, sorry!)
-Inky is back! Duh.-New plot has been updated under the Story tab -We are still looking for admins -Upon joining, you will already be accepted by the alpha so there is no need to role play the intro -If you want to talk about HOW Chief accepted your character, you can DM Inky or ask Inky in the thread -The Events have been updated, we will have a Halloween party in October! Woo! -We are going to restart the role play completely fresh -We can assume that everyone already knows each other, or you can talk amongst yourselves about how you guys met at the Station -For those of you who were in the group when it started, you can keep your characters, no need to make another one -If you want to make another one, you need the Pack Coins for that (please look under Currency tab)
