Drake

Perfect. So far, everything was going perfect and now, Drake was situated behind the large poster on a bleacher, peering over the top of it to wait for when Alaska would notice the bright pink glittery sign. And finally, she did. She saw the large sign that said "Alaska, goal to Homecoming with me?" Ha, genius. He was glad that someone had suggested it.

And now, with her eyes on it, Drake yelled "Positions!" and then catapulted himself off the bleacher and into the poster, tearing it in half... kind of. He basically just made a hole and angrily swatted at it until it successfully broke in half. Drake was still covered in pink glitter from when he had lovingly worked on in this morning (okay, he may have gotten distracted halfway through his clean up process), so it was easy to tell who was actually asking.

"Alaska! What do you say?" He asked, proudly putting his hands on his hips and then looking back at June for her to start the singing.

June
June nodded when she understood who it was for. Okay, now she really needed to help despite her dislike for her older brother, she did want to be nice to Alaska. It wouldn’t hurt to be nice to someone who can knock you out in one blow. She shivered at the thought of being punched again before shaking her head. Focus. Georgia isn’t here. Sing for them. What song...? She looked down at the ice as a song popped in her head. Okay, she got it.

She walked down the bleachers slowly and moving to stand in the back. Not far enough not to see Drake and everyone. But a good ways away that no one will be looking at her. Then, she heard the poster rip and smiled as he asked Alaska. Then he looked at her and June turned on the microphone. It didn’t take long for her to launch into the song.

Alaska

The little brunette had never been more excited in her life, almost falling over in her skates as she skated as fast as she could up to the glass. Surely she was the luckiest girl in the world, she felt bad for anyone who didn't have Drake as their best friend. Without the younger boy she wasn't sure she would've survived school, he always knew exactly how to bring a smile to her face, no matter how stupid her family was being.

"Of course!" She giggled, a bright smile on her face. It was surprising to hear June singing, she'd never known the red-head had such a beautiful voice. It seemed Drake had really gone all out for her, she definitely had the best homecoming proposal of all time.

Raven

Raven stood at the stands, writing down.. well she wasn’t even sure what she was writing down. Being uninterested in hockey, or sports in general. This time it had to be an actual sports related thing, unfortunately it was a rule that no fights were to be made on paper.. this time anyway. Despite disinterested when Alaska scored she actually cheered along with the rest of the people in the stands. Raven told her she’d see her play, and she doesn’t lie when there’s not a reason to.

She was hardly paying attention to the people behind her, more focused on the notes she’d written realizing they made no sense, cursing under her breath. Something caught her attention or.. more importantly someone who was singing, she looked towards the sound and Raven couldn’t be more surprised.

June the girl who was so nervous to even play a part in the school’s play.. was singing. Damn.. With a voice like that she should’ve got the lead. Raven didn’t move her gaze away from the red-head, she just watched her in awe.

When the song ended, the cheers, and the proposal that obviously went well. She walked up towards her. “Wow, MJ.” Raven chuckled. “That was..” why didn’t she have any words? speak. “Amazing.”

She shook her head and stared at her inquisitively. “Have you just been holding out on all of us?”

She had said yes.

Of course there had been some fear in Drake that she would say no, but now that fear had dissipated and he now threw his hands up in the air, grinning in glorious... uh... victory? Yeah. "Awesome! We're going dress shopping with all the girls when you're done with your game!" Drake stated proudly.

He then gently took the torn pieces of poster. "Thanks everyone for the help." Drake said with a grin, thanking Grace, Mads, and June in turn. Without them, he wasn't sure how this would've gone. But now he had a date for Homecoming, and it was positively the best date that he ever could have asked for.

Life was going great.

June
She loved the song herself. She would sing it in the shower quietly to herself and found herself listening to it as she did her work. All the lyrics flowed naturally together as if she was listening to him sing it rather than her. Then she was through and Alaska had said yes. She smiled and turned off the microphone, handing it back to Drake and congratulating him. “You and Mason sure have a way of proposing.” She said with a large smile. “It’s very lovely.”

Then she looked over and saw Raven. She paused and thought to herself how they possibly missed each other. She was starting to think they can’t exist in the same building without knowing the other one is there. However, now was different. And she heard her sing. Well everyone heard her sing, but she didn’t want Raven to or Mason.

“You think?” She said at first shrugging her shoulders and playing with a strand of hair. “I’ve hardly held out on anyone. I know that I’m... pretty good at it.” She had to admit, she knew she had a talent. “But, I like this better.” She said smiling as she held up her camera. After a moment of silence she looked up at Grace and remembered where they were going. “So um, a couple of us are going dress shopping for homecoming... did you want to come?” She asked.

Raven
1547013370387.gif
Raven rolled her eyes. She doesn’t just give out compliments to anyone.. well she usually does, but June actually deserved it. Watching her intently as she spoke. Raven raised a brow, June was so private about her pictures, it was almost shocking to know that she was aware of this talent. Frankly, Raven loved it. “Ah. So you know how great you are. ” She genuinely smiled at her. Nodding when June gestured to the camera, she wouldn’t be her without it. Her love of photography, not the camera. Raven still disliked the fact that Mason had bought it for her.

But at least she was happy with it, right? “You should do that more often.” Raven told her, eying her. “Admitting when you’re good at something.” She shrugged. “Confidence is sexy.” It might’ve been a bit much for her, but everyone knows that Raven likes the truth.. maybe just not the truth about herself.

When a wave of slience came over them, Raven looked at her notes. If you ask her it was because she just.. needed to check them. Not an excuse to look away at all. Nodding as June told her some of the girls were going dress shopping. Maybe it was just an attempt to make conversation? She looked up at June when she invited her, furrowing her brows confused. Raven didn’t respond for a few seconds unsure if she was actually.. serious.

“Oh.” She never did this kinda thing, Raven shopped alone.. at probably very different stores. Sure they were much cheaper stores, but she doubted anyone could tell the difference. Raven believed she could pull anything, and she was positive that anyone and everyone would agree with her on it.

“Yeah.. sure.” She had a straight face, but at the corners of her lips you could see the slightly hint of a smile. Maybe she might’ve went if anyone else asked her, but it wasn’t a particularly hard choice when June invited her. “We’ll find you something so good I’ll probably steal you as my own date.” It wasn’t a lie. Raven could safely say that.

Ryan's day was uninteresting after the bell rang. Classes were the same old same old. His english class was again, probably his second class for that day after shop. He didn't really work in the shop. He was more focused on finding parts for Margrette. He was going to have to order parts from three shops in different places for the major parts. It was gonna probably take at east two weeks for the parts arrive. Looks like she wasn't going to see the pavement for a while.

After school was the hockey game. Now to say Ryan loved hockey was an understatement. If he could skate then he would be out there playing. He couldn't skate worth a damn out on the ice. He sighed as he watched Sawyer skate around. Ryan watched jealous as Alaska and Sawyer got to have the fun. He was sitting a good distance from Raven. Things have been a little weird between them. Ryan had finally saw what Raven was talking about. Her mother was the one that was driving the van that had t-boned him.

He knew they were going to have to talk about it one day soon, but whenever he tried to talk to her about it, she would be weird and not want to talk about it. He stood up and walked over to her. "Got a scoop?" He asked as he watched her jot some stuff down. "I didn't peg you as a hockey kind of person. Or a sports person at that. But people do tend to surprise." He said with a smile. She was going to have to talk to him this time.

Shh this is before the whole proposal thing
Raven was too focused on scribbling out words that made no sense and that would have no value to her later, when Ryan came up and started talking. She visibly tensed up for a second but quickly recovered. Avoiding him didn’t seem to be working very well. Raven sighed heavily. “Not an interesting one.” Replying to him.

Shaking her head she spoke. “I’m a pleasant surprise to everyone. And I’m not here by choice. I work for the school’s newspaper.” She rolled her eyes. “Sadly i can’t write every ‘scoop’ I’d like to.” She shrugged.

“But i will admit.. it isn’t as boring as i thought it’d be.” Raven pointed off to one of the girls on the ice. “That chick just slammed another into the wall.” Giving him a grin. “Although.. isn’t as different or brutal than a normal school day.”

Neck Tie

DnEQw7v.gif

Neck Tie spent the whole day anxiouly waiting for the final bell to ring. He didn't realise just how nervous he was, though he must have taken a dozen trips to the urinal during and between his classes. At lunch he didn’t even feel like eating. Instead he wasted the hour picking apart his sandwich bit by bit, until it was just a huge mound of crumbs on his tray. He promised Jace he’d see him for music practice, but never showed up. And then he forgot to retrieve his science poster from Mads’s locker. So when he had nothing to show for all his hard work, the teacher gave him an automatic F, and Neck Tie thought his day couldn’t get any worse.

That was until the final bell rang — a painful reminder that the highlight of his day was still to come. The blond-haired boy dragged himself outside against his own will, his heart pounding like a little drum in his chest. Neck Tie didn't mind helping Mason impress his girlfriend; he actually thought it was kind of romantic and he was well on board for that. He kind of felt sorry for Mason for losing his scholarship and all, so he wanted to help him. But he couldn't shake away the possibility that Mason was going to kill him and chop him into pieces and sell his kidney. Oh, the things you do for love. . .

Feeling short of breath, he slowly walked up to the older boy, who was enjoying a quick smoke in the afternoon sun. With his head low and hands in his pockets, he went and positioned himself beside his arch-nemesis. ‘Hi, Mason . . .’ he said, and gave him an obligatory sideways glance and a slight nod, as if to say he'd accepted his fate.

"Hey, kid." Mason shot a grin at Neck-Tie as he made his way over. "I was starting to think you wouldn't show." Okay, that was a damn lie. Mason knew that he would show up so that he wouldn't die by too many nuggets, or something worse. Yes, he'd threatened the nuggets, but that didn't mean that was the method he would've chosen.

"I'm happy you did. I was Googling prices for organs on the black market and although it would've been a lot quicker than what we're going to do, it would've also been way messier." He joked, although Mason was really bad at saying anything in a not serious tone, so he quickly realized that that probably didn't come across as the joke it was supposed to be. Woops. Oh well, surely even Neck Tie wasn't dumb enough to think that Mason would do something as idiotic as that.

Mason quickly tried to pull the conversation back from jokes. "So, listen," he said and dropped his cigarette to the ground, grinding it in with the tip of his boot. "I know a guy and he gave me some... product to move, alright? You're gonna help me so we can get twice as much moved so that I can impress June and buy things. Got it? And if you do really well, I'll even give you a cut of the proceeds, okay?" Well, maybe. Mason wasn't sure Stu would even go for this.

Ryan chuckled when she mention that slamming someone into a wall. Now thinking about it, there seems to be a fight every day, it wasn't going to be good for them later down the road. He then realized he was in a few of them and shurged it off. He'd be fine. He turned his attention back to Raven. "And you know you have other people that work on the paper right? I don't mind going to a hockey game, and writing about wha happened." He said holding up a notepad and a pencil.

"Look, You've been avoiding me. My first day back, when you were talking to Shiloh you left after we had a real reason to talk. You barely talk to me while we're in the newspaper room, and while I was in the hospital you only came that first day. What happened to us being partners? What happened to I got your back, and you got mine? Now what is the problem? Why are you acting like this?" He said confronting her on why she had barely noticed him at all.

She had skipped the hockey game to get ahead on shopping. She didn't feel like heading to the hockey game that night, but she had heard everyone would be going to the mall to get their dresses that night. However she wasn't interested in shopping with anyone else, she already knew what she was going to wear and had her heart set on her dress. Maybe Alaska was right.. Having a date could be more fun.. She shook that thought from her head, and went back to hunting for her dress. There was only one person that she would enjoy going to the dance with, but she knew it would never work, and they already had their own date. She was ready for a fun night, even if she didn't know if she'd end up leaving with anyone.

Raven grinned weakly at him. “I suppose i just like to do things myself.” Maybe she would’ve asked him if the whole accident didn’t happen but it did, and there was no changing it. When he continued and finally realized she was avoiding him, of course he was gonna find out. He wasn’t stupid. Raven gripped the pen so tight in her grasp she was sure it’d break.

They were partners, and she had his back. It wasn’t like that. It was just-“Because it was my fault!” She exclaimed however a bit too loudly gaining stares from the other students and parents. Lowering her voice and averting her gaze from him. “My mom was the one who hit you. I’m sure you know by now.. it was everywhere.” She explained.

“She was supposed to pick me up that night at the bonfire. And she was..” Raven just shrugged and shook her head.

“I don’t even know where she is now.. but that’s not the point.” She sighed in defeat. “It’s my fault. I should’ve known she would’ve..” taking a heavy breath she continued. “Look. If it wasn’t for me you probably wouldn’t of..” Raven didn’t know how to say it. She didn’t want to avoid him but she just couldn’t handle the guilt from it all.

“I’m sorry.”

Ryan turned and put his hands on her shoulders. "Raven what your mother did put me in the hospital. She hit me. Now I have to live with one leg for the rest of my life. She did that. You didn't do anything. Ok, she was on her way to pick you up. But you had no way of knowing that she was going to be at that intersection, or that I was going to run that red light..." He lookd deeply into her eyes. His eyes were soft and warm. "It's not your fault, so stop thinking that you were the reason I lost my leg. I want my partner back. I want to write another article without worrying that you're not going to be the same person that I know. So stop feeling like you were the one that caused me to get hurt. You didn't. You're my friend and I won't lose a friend cause they think they caused me to get hurt." He was ready to slap her if she didn't accept what he was saying.

~ Phoenix Wilson ~

The day went by fast as Phoenix bounced from class to class, hour to minute, minute to second till the last bell rippled through the halls. He took a minute to swing by the theater and grab his bag, slinging it across his shoulder as he wandered out of the director's office, only to bump right into Alexander. "Get out of my way." Phoenix muttered, smacking Alexander's hand with a vicious pop when the guy grabbed his wrist. "Change your twitter name." Alexander muttered, glaring down at him. "When you get your fucking hands off me, I'll think about it." His voice was a hiss as he yanked him arm away, storming off in a little rage, just trying to get to his car as fast as possible. He was going to pick up Grace from her house, he just needed to change his clothes and see Annabel Lee, the nude cat was absolutely excited to see him, chirping and jumping all over him. "Sometimes... I think you're the only one who gets me." Annabel bumped her forehead against his then hopped off his lap, batting at his shoelaces as she rolled around on the floor. He scooped her up in his arms and carried her like a baby, singing a soft lullaby as he danced through the rooms with her, finally depositing her on the sitting room couch with a kiss on the head. He ran up stairs and changed, settling on a pair of grey joggers and a plain white t-shirt, not feeling to incredibly fancy today. He sent a quick tweet out to Grace before rushing back out to his car. He stopped to admire all the Pride flag stickers, there were a few especially lewd ones about Bears, that was Phoenix's favorite. Phoenix sighed softly, going back to the event earlier in the theater between him and Alexander but shoved it off, hopping into his car. It wasn't a long drive to Grace's house, mainly because he sped everywhere, so once he wheeled into the drive, honking his horn wildly a few times as he waited for her.

Ash

She'd been debating on whether or not to attend this "dress shopping" thing that a lot of the other girls seemed to be going to. After all, Ash already had dresses, and she had just planned on re-wearing one of those. But then she found out that Grace and Melody would be going, and what kind of team player would she be if she didn't go with them to pick out perfect dresses?

So Ash showed up to the dress shop before a lot of the other girls given the whole hockey game thing. Her eyes perused the dresses, dragging her fingers along the rows of fabric. Ash's gaze then fell on a pretty red-head that she'd seen in passing, but never talked to. She was a partier, right? Like one of those girls who got fucked up every night.

Either way, Ash was bored, and she was all for making new friends. So she walked over, coming to a stop next to her. "Hey! I'm Ash. You're here for the shopping trip, right?"

Well, there was a hockey game of sorts going on right now... at least that's what she managed to make out past all the yelling and the game noise. But she did make out Drake saying something about Grove Street dress shop. Grove Street, yes, she's been there once with her granny. She couldn't remember what for, though. Nevermind, she'll just slowly head on over there. Also, why not go and check up on her pupper in the meantime? She had to leave Chicka home, maybe they could finally go somewhere together. And with that, Eli headed off towards the nearest pier to catch a ferry to the Great Cranberry Island.

She still wished to catch a glimpse of that wolf-costume-wearing boy, Stu, but she couldn't find him anywhere, and so far she wasn't succesfull in reaching out to him... Maybe he's on Twitter, she thought. But that'll have to wait for later, she'll try to find him. Elizabeth picked up the pace.

She was in her own world, stuck in her own mind that she couldn't turn off. When she was interrupted and brought back to the living by a short blonde that she knew by Ash. Cheerleader, usually the type she avoided, just a bit too much pep for her taste. "I know who you are" She said lifting up a dress off the rack and holding it up to herself, not taking her eyes off the rack. "and no, actually avoiding it entirely. Just figured most people would be at the game" She sighed actually turning to the girl for a moment. "What do you think of this?" She held up a short tight black dress with a deep V-neck, that was covered by a sheer fabric. "Too slutty?" Looking back at the dress. "Or not slutty enough?" She laid it across her arm, and went back to scowering the rack for the dress she really came for.

The mention of organ markets made his heart sink. He knew Mason was up to know good. He knew it!

So when Mason said he just wanted to move some ‘product’ around, that already sounded a million times more pleasant than having his kidney extracted. Neck Tie listened to the plan with his full attention, scrunching up his nose as he caught a whiff of that pungent smoke the older boy was exhaling. Neck Tie was probably getting a lot of secondhand smoke just by standing there next to Mason.

‘Okay,’ the younger boy said, finally. 'Sure, I'll help you.' At first he thought Mason was talking about moving chairs or cookies or something, and he was more than happy to lend his hand. It only struck him a few seconds later that the older boy might have had something a lot more sinister in mind. ‘Wait. . . product?’ Neck Tie glanced up at Mason curiously, tilting his head like a confused dog. ‘What. . . what kind of product?’

It was finally homecoming which made Melody nervous and excited. She didn't have a date to go with so she would be going alone unless she could find a group to go with. But she doubt that would happen since many people at the school were in relationships. Melody would let that stop her from going to homecoming she could drown herself in punch and dance under the glittering spot lights. She drove to the shop making a mental note to not go over one hundred dollars in an attempt to save for her future now she left home. She skipped schools for weeks moving out of her childhood home to get away from her parents who made it hard for her to be who she was. They reluctantly let her under the circumstance that she would update them every few days.

Once parked Melody got out of her car and opened the door. To her delight she saw Ash and another girl she didn't recognize. As she made her way to the rack she noticed so large price tags. "Hey Ash nice to see you again", she said peeling through the clothes. "Hey I'm Melody", she greeted the girl. "I know you didn't ask me but I think it's not slutty enough".

She wasn't sure how to respond to that. Plus, the girl obviously knew who she was, not that it was... too much of a surprise. A lot of people at least knew her name. And sure, Ash had heard... rumors about Carter, although she'd never really known her name, but now those rumors seemed more like truth when she asked about the slutty dress. Before Ash could even respond, Melody came up, giving her two cents about it not being slutty enough.

"I mean, I think it's too slutty but still kind of... classy?" Could slutty and classy even be in the same sentence together? Ash wasn't sure. "Why would you want to dress slutty, though?" She asked curiously as she glanced from Carter to Melody, and then turned her attention to the dresses. Gosh, Ash wasn't even sure what to choose.

"C'mon, kid, I don't want to talk about here." Mason said, rolling his eyes as he turned and started walking away from the school and down the street. "Walk with me. We've got two options." And sadly, the things he needed for both options were at his house. His stupid, stupid apartment... Oh well. He'd probably just make Stu wait outside.

"So either you can repay your debt to me by selling some 'pies,' or -- and I like this idea way better -- screw the money idea. All you do is stand on the corner and do some dancing for me in a costume I got back home. See whatever money we make, or maybe we'll get like free food tossed at this." He had just enough money to give June a good time, so embarrassing Stu could be a great way to spend their time, too. Or, you know, more money for better time.

But he figured he'd leave the decision up to Stu. After all, who knew if Stu was up for moving some things through the use of pies? And surely he would know that when Mason said pies, he didn't mean actual pies.

Raven went tense when he put his hands on her shoulders, turning her head to face him. As he spoke listing the reasons why she wasn't at fault. It made sense when he said it, but all of that guilt wasn't going to disappear in a few seconds. Raven didn't say or do anything. Catching his gaze with her own as he continued, and it felt like a blow to the chest. She just nodded slowly. "Yeah. Okay." Was all Raven said.

After a few very long moments in silence. She didn't give him a warning before pulling him into a tight embrace. She felt a little better. He didn't have to worry about her ignoring him anytime soon. Avoiding him just made her feel worse anyway. "Of course you won't lose me." pulling away with a signature grin. "What would you do without me?" She said, taking a much needed breath and changing the subject completely. "So, you want an article." She gestured to the rink. "There's your article." Giving him wink.

"I mean.. you said you wouldn't mind.." Giving him a small shrug. Overall.. she was glad they worked it out. Every hard worker needs an assistant right? ...Fine. Partner.

Her mother stood beside her at the same height, carrying an assortment of bags. "Red will certainly look good on you. It's a nice contrast with your paleish skin." Her mother informed her in Japanese. Amanda never wore much red. It seemed more aggressive than colors like blue or green.
"Mama, you know I don't wear red. It's so typical."Amanda let out a groan. Her mother gave her a quick whack on the shoulder to keep her daughter from complaining even more.
"So who's your date. I hope he's handsome." Her mother asked as she pulled out her phone. Amanda bit her lip and gave a quick shrug. Slowly she tried to explain that she was going alone. "I've been at the school for a few days and haven't meet a lot of people. I'll be going by myself." She answered, waiting for her mother's backlash. However, nothing came. "Silly me. I forgot that you are a new arrival. But that doesn't mean you won't be wearing rags to the sch-" Her mother quickly pulled her phone to her ears when it ringed during the middle of speech. "Excuse me honey while I take this call. Take the money and look for a appropriate dress. " She said, tossing the rolled up dollars to Amanda.
Amanda looked at the stack of money then to her mother. Her mom brought all this to shop for a homecoming dress. She used to think her mother was cheap. Amanda started to walk around the mall, looking for a good place to shop. Maybe even a good place to eat.
One store seemed particularly popular with girls around her age. The prices were pretty low too. Amanda entered the store and walked to the racks with the dresses. "God, they are all short." She muttered, taking a dress and bringing against her body to see if it fits.

Grace
tumblr_inline_p1oan1r6wQ1rifr4k_540.gif
After the hockey game, Grace said her goodbyes to Sawyer, and of course congratulating her on the victory before letting her know that she was going dress shopping. Telling her she was more than welcome to come, but Grace couldn't help but feel like dresses weren't Sawyer's style.

Later, at home. She sat on the couch scrolling through her phone, replying to Phoenix's tweet. Grace still didn't quite get why people didn't text.. It was like every conversation was on social media. The front door opened and her mother walked in. She was home early from work, but didn't think much on the matter. She didn't notice her yet, and Grace wasn't even sure she wanted her to, but of course. Grace being herself. She tried to talk to her anyway. "Hey."

Kate turned towards her, staring at her she looked like she was contemplating something, and for a second she actually thought maybe she'd speak to her. Safe to say she thought wrong. She nodded slowly in understanding. "Got it." Grace said standing up, hearing the horn outside. Moving past Kate and calling out for June. Once she opened the front door, her jaw dropped slightly, blinking in surprise. The car screamed gay, her mother seemed to notice, crossing her arms. "Who is that?" Her mother asked, and eyebrow raised in disapproval. She turned around shocked that she even said a word to her. And it was like someone flipped a switch on Grace. "Oh. So.. now you wanna talk?" Grace replied, nodding as June awkwardly stepped by. "It's my ride mom, his name's phoenix, before you start thinking it's miracle and i'm straight. If the car didn't give you a hint, he's gay. We're going shopping for dresses. Y'know.. for homecoming." She explained.

"Although you probably wouldn't know, considering you don't care to talk to me at all. Maybe could've went shopping together, like actual mother and daughter, but i guess not." Grace couldn't hide the venom in her voice, nor that she did she want to at the moment. She shrugged uncaringly. Though she cared, she was just way more irritable than usual. "Now if you'll excuse me, i have to go buy a dress to wow my girlfriend in." Telling her as she moved around the woman.

She could feel Kate's eyes on her, Grace knew when her mother was pissed. Good. At least she finally got her attention.
