West Blue Arc: Zoomania

Marcus Gaverenton
Marcus listened to Risa, then turned to look at the town. He had no clue where Zeon had wandered off to, but he hoped that he wasn't in any danger. That meant Marcus would have to use the tiny amount of supplies he carried with him, before he had any chance of making any more medicine. Especially since he wanted to save as much as he could for when they went into the forest. Whatever danger were inside there, he didn't want to go in with any less supplies he had on his person at that moment.

However, Marcus's thoughts were interrupted when the hawk appeared. It was rather surprising, but Marcus had interacted with hawks before. During his time at home, hawks would swim between islands in order to find new prey. They always cycled through the year, coming to his hometown for a few weeks when it was warmer weather. When Sora and Syrin acknowledged the News Coo, though, Marcus walked over and looked over the side, surprised at the dead bird floating in the water, it's blood beginning to flow out into the water, giving it a red tinge. Marcus scowled at the sight. "
Gruesome...but not the worst fate it could have suffered."

Marcus stayed staring at the bird, wondering if he should fetch it out of the water and bury it so it's body could help grow plants, when Sora approached him. "
No need to thank me. If it helps us out, then it was what we should have done anyways. Of course, the man who gave it to me, Asahi, was a rather stubborn fellow." Marcus didn't describe how he had forced himself into the man's home, as he wasn't sure if the captain would take too kindly to that. "Anyways, once we finish our little search, that hunter owes me a drink, and I want to know a little more about the islands around here, if possible." At the mention of their crewmates, Marcus frowned. "Hopefully they haven't hurt themselves." Marcus pulled out a bottle with a green-tinged liquid in it. "This is the only bottle of painkiller I have. Just a tiny dose will keep you from feeling any pain for a solid fifteen minutes. The whole bottle can keep you numb for an entire day. Helpful for operations. But let's hope it doesn't come to that."

Sora began to write a letter, and Marcus shrugged at his invitation. "
I need to go into the forest anyways to grab supplies. With what I find here, I can probably make some new concoctions." Sora gave the letter to his tiny pet, and as it ran in front of Marcus and offered it to him, Marcus smiled and shook his head, holding up his hand to signify he didn't need the letter. As the...ferret(?) moved on, Marcus watched it's movements. When it ran off the ship, Marcus looked down at his arm. "Hmmm..." He turned to his captain again when he said something about Elijah. Marcus rolled his eyes. "If I see him, I'll let him know...maybe." Marcus secretly hoped the man had jumped ship in the night.

Marcus ran below deck and gathered up his medical tools, and quickly hooked some syringes to his belt. As he tightened his belt, he listened to the silence of the ship. Since there were no footsteps or the sound of tinkering machines, Marcus guessed that Elijah had left early in the morning, before anyone else had woken up. He decided not to worry about it, and quickly made his way off the ship to follow Sora.

Hawky the Birb Friend

As those aboard the ship departed the hawk they left behind tilted it's head back and forth curiously. 'Friend that smells of friend leaves?' The bird hopped off the ships railing, sniffing at the planks along the deck. She could smell it! Friend had been on the boat! The hawk hopped in place happily, cawing several times in excitement. Spinning around and around she seemed to home in on more of the smell. She open up her wings wide and flapped until she was flying, right on up to her favorite part of big boats. The big bucket that people looked from at the top.

As she landed on it's edge she eagerly checked the scent. Yes, yes! Friend had been here not too long ago! The hawk flew out of the crows nest and flew off in the direction of Friends friend with the red sparkle hair. Using Friend's scent to find friend of friend the hawk began tracking and following the man with red sparkle hair. As she spotted him she began a swift, almost alarming descent and dived straight for him. Sora never had a chance of realizing what was about to happen. SLAM. She hit him from behind, her bird mass that of nearly half a human alone became something much more at the rate of her descent, and she knocked Sora right over with a THWUMP. The bird stood on his back squawking excitedly and jumping back and forth, cawing at Sora. The bird stopped after a second and sniffed at his hair. 'Friend of friend is okay?'

Norman Newman, and Hawky

It seems that Sora no longer can go on a walk without looking over his shoulder every several seconds. The idea of a peaceful walk was taken away from him in merely a second. One moment he was minding his own business as he walked along, and in the next he felt pain in his back. Not only was there pain but force as well, a lot of it, enough to knock Sora over before he could do a damn thing. Well, a yelp of surprise certainly left him as his body rushed to the ground.

With a rather loud thud, Sora found himself, face fist in the ground, having not put his arms out in time to catch himself. A small groan leaving him as he just laid there trying to figure out what the hell was it that hit him. After a second or two he noticed that his back had in fact not been snapped in two, as he could still feel. Meaning he felt something hop ever so excitedly on his back. Groaning out once again he turned his head a bit only to see that hawk starring right at him.

".....Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy." He groaned out before moving his face back into the dirt for a moment.

Marcus, who had been following Sora silently, had not even noticed the hawk flying at them. When it made impact with his captain, he jumped back in surprise, holding his hands up in front of him in case the bird wanted to attack him next. However, it seemed to simply want to hop around on Sora, or at least try to be close to him. Marcus lowered his guard, and looked quizzically at the bird before waving his hands at it. "Shoo, you. Get off him." Marcus knelt down, placing his hand on Sora's arm. "Are you okay, captain? How severe is the pain?" Marcus reached for the syringe at his hip, while also pulling out the bottle of liquid painkiller.

Hawky pecked Sora's nose lightly in a gesture of affection. 'Friend of friend is okay!' The bird spun happily in place before another human tried to shoo her! How DARE. Hawky bit him right on the finger, took his poker, and flew a short distance away. She set the poker down and kicked at it curiously with her talons. Weird colored stuff swished inside.

Sora just remained on the ground as he groaned a bit. When he heard Marcus he turned his head to look at the other and watched as he pulled out a needle. "That really isn't nes-" before he could even finish his sentence the bird that had attacked him had snatched the needle and flew a way away. Closing his eyes for a moment Sora put his arms under him and started to push himself up.

"Not really in pain...okay not in a lot of it, the initial impact and the faceplanting did, but I don't think anything long term happened because I got body slammed by a damn oversized hawk." Sora said as he pushed himself up, soon enough getting on his feet. Reaching up he did a stretch to get out any kinks that could have been caused by the hit.

"The bird seems to be following me, weird since I don't have anything I think a hawk would really want." Sora said with a shrug as he stretched a bit more. "Though I should have figured it wanted something from me when it gave me the newspaper."

Marcus looked down at his slightly-bleeding finger. He scowled as he pulled out some ointment and a bandage. "Damn bird...don't know where it's been...could give me some sort of disease..." As he applied the ointment and wrapped the bandage around his finger, he looked at the bird, frustrated it had taken his syringe. He stood up next to Sora. "You must have something it wants. Or maybe it recognizes you from somewhere? From my experience, hawks seem to be able to be trained, and grow attached to their owners. Maybe that's the case with this one, except it wasn't trained by you?" A thought dawned on Marcus in that moment. "Maybe this hawk has to do with the animals disappearing?"

Sora started to fish through his pockets to see what he had on him. "Lets see pen, paper. dagger....that's in a hilt on my waist not my pocket so why I was looking there don't ask. Other pocket, some scraps of meat meant for Albi and that's about it.... My guess reason he/she I don't know, followed me was because of the scraps of meat, or because of something else." Sora stated as he shrugged. "As for the animals disappearing, I don't know. Maybe? Could have escaped if he was being held captive. You don't need that needle right?"

Marcus crossed his arms. "Well, I have a few more on the ship, and I brought two extras just in case one broke. Or, I guess, in this situation, gets stolen by a damn bird of prey. I'll manage if the bird ends up breaking it." Marcus began to approach the bird. "However, if this bird is involved with the disappearances, then maybe we could take it along with us? Could prove helpful, since it seems to like you so much." He knelt down in front of the bird, holding out his hand. "Hey, pal. Can I have that back? You'll end up hurting yourself with it."

Hawky backed several hopping steps away making sounds of birdy warning. Then all of a sudden it stopped. It put its beak in the air towards Marcus, a curious huff of breath escaping it's chest. Then it let out a trilling sound of joy! She grabbed the poker and flew over, landing with a HEFTY weight on Marcus' shoulder. She dropped the poker gently into his hand and nuzzled his head. 'Friend of friend too, right track! Find soon!'

Marcus almost lost his balance when the hawk landed on his shoulder. He held his arms out to his side as he fixed himself, and when he was able to stand normally, he placed the syringe back on his belt, and gently scratched the hawk's chest. "There we go. I guess it's a good bird." Marcus turned to Sora, believing himself to look slightly ridiculous with the large bird perched on his shoulder. "With this guy, I doubt we'll have much problems in the forest. Shall we go?"

Sora held in a snicker as he looked at Marcus, quickly turning his gaze to the forest so the other couldn't see how close he was to laughing. "Le...Lets get a closer look. I want to wait a bit loner to see if any of the others come meet up with us." Sora said as he walked forward taking his chance to stop himself from actually laughing.

Walking on Sora soon got a decent distance from the village as he entered the forest. Looking around as he walked he found the silence very unsettling, sure he should be a bit used to it. However a forest being this quiet, wasn't something one could just get used to off the bat. "Lets see, from here the shortest route to the center of this place would be in this direction." Sora stated as he nodded his head in the direction he intended to go. "We do have to watch out for traps and other dangerous things."

At that moment a short figure covered in mud, with sticks poking out of their hair and leaves stuck to their chest burst forth from some rather large bushes. "CAPTAIN CAPTAIN CAPTAIN!" Mud Norman hit Sora in a flying tackle of excitement. "CaptainIfoundwheretheanimalsareandicanleadusthereandistabbedaguysbuttandifellinsometrapsandimetatreeladyandSyrinstotallylameandimhungryhiiii!"

Sora heard the rustle of leaves and his attention was turned to the muddy figure that was bolting right for him and shouting out for him as well. Blinking a few times Sora knew who it was, but how on earth he got so dirty, was something he didn't get a chance to consider. '.......He's not slowing down.' Sora thought as Norman raced for him. Right away Sora was going to take a step back to avoid getting tackled.

However! Despite the name of his ship, Sora wasn't really the lucky kind. As he moved his foot to step out of the way, there was a root, one easy to overlook, that prevented him from doing what he desired. When he realized that he couldn't move how he liked, well he tried to shout at Norman buuuuuuuut

Before he could he found the wind get knocked out of him as Norman ever so literally flew right into him, knocking him down onto his back with a good deal of force. A loud grunt left Sora as he collided with the ground, though thanks to him tucking his chin in time, he didn't end up hitting his head.

After he landed on the ground he rested his head back and closed his eyes as he attempted to follow what Norman said. Of course using this time to catch his breath. When the other was done talking Sora laid there in silence for a time as he tried to figure out what the other just spouted. However, after a bit he only got a few words and even then he wasn't sure exactly what Norman was talking about. "....Norman....get off, and repeat that... This time using a small pause in-between your words so we can understand everything."

Norman inhaled deeply as he got off Sora. Doing so was hard through both mud and his scarf mask, but he was tough enough to pull it off! "Aye Aye Aye Aye Capitan! So I met this tree lady and she shot Syrin cause he's not really good at fights. Then she told me where to go and I found a big fortress place with not very many people in it. I beat up some guys and stabbed one in the butt, nonfatally, and found where the animals are!"

Marcus was surprised to see the mud-covered Norman, but couldn't help but snicker a little bit when Sora was brought down to the ground once more. He walked over to Norman and was about to place a hand on the man's shoulder, before deciding it would be best to refrain from doing that. Instead, he began pulling the sticks out from his crewmates hair. "I don't understand how you all can deal with getting so dirty." When he was done pulling the sticks out, Marcus stepped back and offered his hand to Sora to help him up, while still looking at Norman. "It's good that you found the base of the people in charge of making the animals disappear. If you remember how to get back there, then we can head there and try and free the animals. Of course, we should probably get the other members of the crew first before we launch an attack. What do you think, captain?"

Sora didn't get up right after Norman got off him, rather he moved his hands behind his head and just listened. ".....................................Syrin got shot???" He asked in confusion as he looked over at Norman. A light sigh left him upon hearing this, if that was the case why on earth did Syrin not mention this so he could medical help? 'I can ask him later, first thing is first.'

Reaching out he grabbed Marcus hand and pulled himself to his feet. "I think that things are going to get rather interesting. Norman, did you see how many people were in this fort?" Sora asked as he let go of Marcus hand.

Norman didn't register what Sora said at first, because he was staring at Marcus in shock. When the man had begun picking sticks out of his Norman had turned around to a surprising view. His eyes watered happily for a second. "HAWKY!"

As Norman shouted the big ol bird dived straight into him, knocking the small boy down. He laughed as the bird danced on his chest and pecked happily at his forehead and hair. 'FRIENDFRIENDFRIEND' was all she could think.

He recovered after about half a minute, standing up and placing the bird on his head, where she nestled contentedly. "This is Hawky, Captain! She's my animal companion from my home island! She's very good at hunting and delivering letters and dancing!" He scratched her under the chin while she cooed. "Oh, she really likes killing News Coos by the way."

After a shocked moment he realized Sora had asked him something. But what was iiiiiit...... OH "Of course I can lead us there Captain! And don't worry about lame Syrin, I patched up the shot for now. He's one until Marcus can look at him!"

"She also likes to tackle people who are minding their own business." Sora said after the hawk's introduction. "Also, we learned about the whole News Coo thing, after she gave me the newspaper." Sora said before running his hand through his hair as he now looked behind him. "Okay...how about we wait a bit, I want to see if any of the other crewmates got the note before we go in. Depending on the size and everything, it will likely be best if there was more of us."

Norman eyed Hawky. "Tackling people besides me? I think she probably smelled me on you and got excited. She doesn't normally tackle people otherwise unless they befriend her specifically, which only happened once." Norman sat down right where he was. "Alright Captain, I'll wait right he-" Like that he was asleep sitting up, the bird atop him in a similar state.

Rosa, Teri, Mac, Alex
Looking over at the dwarf Rosa smiled kindly at her. "Thank you for the offer dear, but most of it is already done... Actually I do have something you could do." She then pointed at the cabinets counter, on there was sets of plates and cups. "Do you think you can set the table? If not that's fine, I'll have one of the other children do it." At this time she poured the batter into a pan and after only a bit the smell of food started to fill the room. "I'm sure those kids will be down here in only a few moments~ Oh! Before I forget I'm Miss Rosa, what is your name sweety?" She asked as she kept her focus on the food before her. "And how did you meet the children? Please tell me they didn't cause a ruckus of some sort."

At this time a ruckus ever so happened as there was loud clattering coming from the upstairs, all the way down stairs. "I call dibs on the first whatever!" Mac shouted as she barged into the room still just in her PJs.

"No fair! I called dibs when we were upstairs!"

"Ha! That doesn't count because Miss Rosa didn't hear you~ She heard me there for, I get dibs! hahahah!"
"It doesn't work like that you know that!"

While those two argued Alex slipped right by them and entered the kitchen. "Good morning Miss Rosa." He said before looking down only now noticing Keya. "Oh! You stayed? Remained? Didn't leave? I thought after we went to bed you left like your friends." He said softly before smiling. "Good morning to you to, are you going to have breakfast with us?"

Albi
When Zeon returned the note and shook his head Albi tilted her head in confusion for a moment, as she could have sworn on her treats he was part of Sora's ship. Must have been a different guy with bright hair. Had to have been! Ah well, maybe she would run into the right guy as she kept on with her search. She only stayed there for a few seconds before scampering off deeper into the village.

Ship people, where are all the ship people? There were plenty of non ship people, normal people just going about their day shopping and talking and not being on a ship. If they weren't on a ship then those people didn't concern the small critter as she weaved her way through pairs of legs and down streets trying to find someone familiar. A decent time passed before she decided to take a small break from her search.

Note still in mouth she walked over to a nice shady place to lay down at. This place ever so happened to be the stall that both Syrin and Risa were at. Plopping right in the shade, Albi sprawled out a bit and yawned. Of course she wouldn't be sleeping, not now. Not until she completed her very important job, and not until she got back inside Sora's snuggly jacket.

There she lay watching silently as the woman started to put together something pretty. A hat, a really gorgeous one that caught the mink's attention. To her the product seemed to shimmer a bit, though it could simply be due to where she was laying down, however none the less she was rather captivated by the hat. Even before it was completed. Instead of taking a quick power nap, Albi sat up and watched Risa work swiftly to complete the work of art.

When it was done, and the two made their exchange, Albi noticed something. Syrin, gave the lady something from his bag and got something pretty in return. She has seen Sora carry a bag just like Syrin's and he's gotten things in return for taking something out of the bag. Nothing as pretty as what Syrin got. Was it because Sora was being silly and giving the stuff in his bag to the wrong people? It must have been! Sora had the bag, and the stuff in the bag, but he didn't get the pretty thing in return.

This only meant one thing.

Albi now had two missions! First deliver the note. And second...make sure Sora goes to the right place to get that pretty thing. Giving a nod of confidence, the mink suddenly raced off, feeling exhilarated at the thought she found the perfect place for Sora to get pretty things (something he was greatly lacking). The excited mink became a practical blur as she raced through the streets, searching for the ship people.

It certainly took some energy and a bit of time. However she found the ship people, even better! She found two ship people! Not just one! Not skipping a beat, Albi raced over to a certain panda and fishwoman. Skidding to a halt she stopped right in between them and looked up at them with sparkling eyes waiting for them to take and read the note. There was no way these people were not the ship people, she made a mistake earlier, but these two had to be it....unless there was another panda and walking fish in the village.

Cait flashed Xiao a smile before glancing over at the children. She too didn't want to put them in any danger. "Maybe we won't have to worry about that. It's around breakfast time, a good morning meal might distract them," she said after looking back at her panda friend. Cait was ready to go into the forest when a white blur stopped beside her. She crouched down and smiled at the mink as she took the note from her mouth. Afterward, she stood back up and began to read the note aloud.

"I'm going to assume Albi gave this note to one of my crewmates, if so I'm going into the jungle with some others hopefully. It maaay be best if you came along and brought anyone that is with you. If you are not a crewmate of mine, just fold the letter back up and hand it back to the excited mink and shake your head. She'll get it. Thanks ~ Sora."

Cait turned to Xiao. It looked like she had been right about her crewmates being in the forest. "Better not keep the captain waiting," she said with a grin. Cait pocketed the note and crouched down next to Albi. She thanked the mink for the note by scratching behind one of her ears. "Lead us to Sora, Albi."

Elijah Baden
Elijah sat at the table, tinkering with a little mechanical ball. He twisted the crew into it's place and held it up in front of him, letting out a toothy grin. "Finally! It's done! Old Man Stan will be so impressed by this!" He turned around, holding the ball up to his mother, who was through the doorway at her drawing table. "Mamma, Mamma! Look at what I made! Does it seem cool enough to impress Old Man Stan?"

Quinn Baden looked up from her work, her glasses resting at the tip of her nose. She smiled the same toothy, crooked smile that her son had, and placed down her pen. She got up from her chair and walked into the kitchen, bending down and looking at the object with interest, her long brown hair pulled into a bun on the back of her head. Her brown eyes glowed with curiosity as she held her hand out to touch it. "What the hell is it?" The woman had no filter around her children.

Elijah proudly pushed his chest out and held the ball up. "
This! This is a new weapon that will spin and release a thick cloud of smoke so no one can see! I know some people may have already made this, but this is more compact and simpler to make, so it costs nothing! Now, I just have to test it..." Elijah lifted the ball up above his head. Before his mother could grab his arm, he slammed the ball down on the table, and it began to jump around, spinning and spewing smoke everywhere.

As the two Baden's began to hack and cough, Quinn picked up her son and tossed him into her workroom. She then ran back into the room, stumbling over the furniture and making her way to the window. She threw open the shutters, and began fanning the smoke out of the room. Meanwhile, Elijah sat on the floor in his mother's workshop, looking guilty. He began tracing his finger along the floor. "I...I knew that would happen..."

Quinn finished getting most of the smoke out, and sighed before turning to her son. She placed a hand on her hip and smiled. "You're a god damn idiot, Elijah. No one would have thought about activating that thing in their own house." She laughed as she walked over to her son, and knelt down to pat his head. "But you're my little idiot, and that thing was pretty damn cool. You should work on some of those to sell at the market. I'm sure Old Man Stan will want a hundred of them."

Elijah looked up at his mother, his guilt now replaced with excitement. "Really? You think so?! Then I need to get started!" Elijah jumped up, and ran into the kitchen to grab onto the weapon. As he reached down to grab it, though, he saw heat emanated from it. He titled his head quizzically, and when he placed his fingers on it, a blast of black soot exploded in his face.

~~~
Elijah bolted upright, having been jolted from his sleep by...whatever that dream was. He knew it was one of his memories, so he wasn't surprised, but he had never dreamed of that experience before. The weapon, which he had made a hundred of, had not sold much at the market. He was lucky to sell a dozen to the trader ships. But he knew he had those extras for pranks on people when he was young. At the time, he doubted he was older than twelve. He chuckled, thinking it was strange for him to be making weapons at that age when other kids would be enjoying their time outside. However, one thing bothered Elijah. He never remembered the smoke bomb exploding into black soot...
He looked down at his body, and realized the connection. From head to toe, he was covered in soot. He recalled pulling apart the furnace he had dragged in the night before and putting together a weapon until dawn began to break. He had probably used only a fourth of the pieces of the furnace to make the weapon, and planned on using the rest of the pieces to reinforce parts of the Lucky Nova. However, he had to clean them all first, before he did that.
Elijah stood up, brushing as much soot as he could off his body. He coughed as some flew up into his face, and began to grab his tank-top to switch and get dressed. He was pleasantly surprised to find out he was indeed not wearing anything on his torso, so that just meant it was his skin that was pitch black. He laughed as he made his way out of the storage room he had made his workshop, up onto the deck. He looked around, and didn't see a single person in sight. Wondering where everyone was, Elijah stepped up onto the railing of the ship and let himself fall into the water below. He watched as the soot began to wash off as he collided with the cool blue, and scrubbed as much as he could off of his body until he felt he was at least somewhat clean. He broke the surface of the water and scaled the side of the ship, and quickly made his way back down to his workshop. He grabbed the tank-top he had been wearing the last few days and put it on, patting the dust out of it. He then gathered up his new weapon, which he had put in a small black pouch that he could strap to his hip.
Making his way down the gangplank, Elijah placed a hand above his eyes so the sun wouldn't obstruct his view. 'Better find them all...I don't want to miss any of the fun!' With that, Elijah took off at a run, looking for his crewmates.
~~~

Elijah soon came across two familiar faces. He waved to Cait and Xiao, whistling slightly to get their attention. He jogged up to them, looking down at the familiar white mink. He smiled at it, thinking the little guy was pretty cute. He turned to look at his two crewmates. "Hey, hey. Everyone seemed to have left me behind. Which, you know, isn't that cool. So, what are you guys up to? Going anywhere fun?" He paused, and then grinned more excitingly. "Is there any booze involved? I could go for a drink. I was working on a new toy last night, and I want to celebrate it's completion."

Keya Fenris
Keya nodded slowly, curious what the woman needed help with. She smiled at her request and nodded once more, "Of course I can!" She replied cheerfully. "It's nice to meet you Miss Rosa, I'm Keya~" She told her, still just as cheerful as ever. At her question of how she met the children she giggled a little, "Well they were fine really. It was actually quite fun. They thought I was a gremlin going to eat them so they captured me after they found out I wasn't and was a part of the crew they fired upon accidentally." She explained and shrugged a little. "It's all good though, no harm done. They're really nice kids." She said, starting to zip back and forth to set the table. It took her no time at all as by the time the kids had left she was done.

At their questioning she tilted her head, curious why her crew did in-fact leave and leave her there. "Good morning, and I will be eating with you guys if Miss Rosa doesn't mind." She said. "I sorta slept all night...I have no idea where they actually went or why." She said, referring to her crew and pouting a little. "Did they tell you guys anything?" She asked.

Syrin InsinuAs Syrin began to depart with his newly crafted hat, he spotted a flash of white that he immediately identified as Albi sprinting away. Shaking his head in vague amusement at the little mink, he pulled his hood down and put on his newly acquired headgear, careful to not mess with the paint due to it's need to still dry. Giving one last nod to Risa as he began to walk away, content with the outcome of this situation.

However, as he began to get farther away into the village, his ears perked up as he heard a certain phrase. Apparently, someone was complaining about how the sun was becoming extremely bothersome. Seeing a clear opportunity to further the reputation of the master brand, he essentially slid right next to them. Not even bothering to introduce himself, he began his work. "I couldn't help but overhear your little problem, and I have the solution. Do you see my wonderful hat? You can get a hat to your specifications that is not only functional but very attractive from Risa just here in town. Now I know what you're thinking and all I have to say is simply go visit. Tell her Syrin sent you, and I'm sure you might even get a discount!" Slinking into the shadows as quickly as he appeared, he nodded in satisfaction as the confused villager shook their head and nevertheless headed towards Risa's stand.

As he once more continued his aimless trek, yet another passing conversation caught his attention, and with a determined glean in his eye, he began towards the villagers, with thoughts of converting them all to the Risa brand as well as wondering why this town hasn't already been overrun by the hats.

"Oh would you look at that, things are actually going well," said Xiao pleased that the Captain and most likely other members of the crew were in the forest as well. Better safe than sorry. "Thank you, Alibi," the panda said as he smiled at the little fellow. "Ok then, let us go." and with that said Xiao was ready to leave, until Elijah appeared.

"Quite the energetic fellow, isn't he?" thought to himself Xiao. The panda decided to give Elijah a brief rundown of the situation. "I was attacked last night, by a group of men who were most likely involved in the animal abducting. I defeated them, but they managed to escape into the woods. Cait and I were about to go into the jungle to investigate, and apparently Sora, together with other members of the crew are doing the same." he said.

"I assume you have some questions. Understandable. On the other paw, we're short on time. I shall gladly answer them as we walk." with that said, Xiao started moving towards the jungle.

Risa Talone
Cleaning up her workspace really didn’t take too long, but that was because she had developed a consistent routine of things that managed to avoid making a mess and what mess she did make was something she knew how to clean up quickly. It also let her get back to selling more hats which was ultimately was the goal. Making hats was what she loved, after all. The quicker she could get back to that, the better life would go for her.

For a while, she stayed by her stand to see if any bystanders would randomly approach. Some of the people had, after all, had an opportunity to watch her make Syrin’s hat and seeing that might have peaked their interest. Additionally, she had a few hats sitting on the top of her stand that were just there to be on display and that were for sale. Sometimes people came up and inquired about those. Risa usually tried to talk them into getting something that was more customized to them, but occasionally she sold a premade hat. One of the hats she had on display at the moment actually turned out to be the one she had originally made for Zeon although she was fairly certain he had no intentions of actually coming to pick it up.

“Mommy! Mommy!” a little boy randomly proclaimed as he ran up to her stand, his eyes wide as he took in all the colors in that particular hat. “It’s got all the colors of the rainbow, Mommy!” He seemed entirely fascinated by it and Risa smiled softly at him while his mother walked over to the stand.

“Yes. It would seem that it does. Let’s go, honey. The girl’s trying to get some work done,” she said, trying to grab her son’s hand and guide him away.

“It’s really no problem at all ma’am,” Risa interjected. “The hat’s for sale, actually, if you’re interested. It was custom made only yesterday and I can definitely alter the fit for a child.”

The little boy’s eyes were glowing widely and with a brilliant color as she mentioned it and then he looked to his mother with a pleading gaze. “Please, Mommy?” he was begging now. “I’ll wear it! I promise!!”

“I don’t know, hon.”

He frowned and started to follow his mother away and if there was anything Risa had learned in dealing with a wide diversity of customers, it was that trying to convince parents to change their minds was a painful and grueling process. It really wasn’t something she wanted to start then and there and she was fairly certain she would have better luck making a sale elsewhere. It was unfortunate, but she didn’t doubt that her instincts were true.

Sure enough, a customer approached and walked right up to her stand this time. “Excuse me. Are you miss Risa? There was a man who sent me to your stand here and I was wondering if you could provide something to shade the sun? It’s so bright today.”

The smile on her face could not have been brighter and she nodded right away. “Sure do, sure! Any ideas where you’d like me to start? You seem like a beige man to me.” Risa was usually pretty good at getting a few details spot on without any help, but out of the corner of her eye she could still see the little boy looking longingly at the hat and it put her down just a bit. However, it wasn’t hopeless because her new customer’s gaze followed her own and he saw the sad little kid.

Apparently, this customer was friendly. “Why are you sad?” he asked the little boy.

“I want the pretty hat,” he mumbled.

The man smiled and then stood up a bit straighter to face Risa again. “Well then, Miss Risa, it looks like you have two customers today. I’ll buy the hat the boy wants and then if you could make me one in whatever fashion you see fit so long as it’ll get rid of this wretched sun, I think you’ll be able to say that your hats bring people together.” He pulled out his wallet and offered her payment and Risa was smiling as she pulled the colorful hat that was meant for Zeon off of the stool and offered it to the little boy.

“Sounds like a deal to me!”

Tristan RoadsVegetation. More vegetation. A whole lotta vegetation. There was green as far as the eye could see and Tristan could safely he had no idea where he was going. Navigating a jungle wasn’t a skill someone of his occupation possessed—least of all a jungle that was booby-trapped like some sort of hunter playground. Shifting Seth’s body, which was on his shoulder, the barber pushed away another large leaf. If Seth had been awake he might’ve been an extra pair of eyes to watch out for traps. Sad to say, the talkative, delirious red-head was still asleep…curtsy of whatever oddity he’d eaten. Therefore, Tristan’s trek through the jungle was painstakingly slower than it could’ve been. He hadn’t encountered any animal either.

“If I remember correctly, the way back to town is this way…,”
Strolling forward, Tristan avoided a bear trap…only to find the ground once again caving beneath him. “God-dammit!” Tristan’s left hand grabbed the edge of the pit just in the nick of time while his right arm secured itself around Seth’s body. Pulling himself up and out of the hole in one swift motion, Tristan sighed in relief as his feet landed on solid ground. Perhaps it was better for him to stay put than try to navigate the treacherous, booby-trapped jungle. He wasn't very good at it.

“But staying put isn’t going to find a doctor…or a cute fluffy animal for Rosa~”

Tristan ran a delicate hand through his soft hair as he eyed the foliage before him. He was getting better at least. Compared to when he first went past the barb-wired area, he could was beginning to see the slightly different colored leaves that covered the traps. He was also beginning to get a sense of the imbalances of nature which signaled human intervention. Sort of. Skilled hunters hid their traps well. Spotting what appeared to be human tracks, Tristan followed them to reach a patch of white berries. Tristan grimaced.

So these are Seth’s footprints.

Taking a small bunch, just in case whatever doctor he brought the sleeping red-head to needed a sample of the poison, Tristan pivoted and stepped a different direction.

Woosh!

Tristan instinctively ducked, his grip tightening on Seth.

Thunk! Thunk! Thunk!

Turning to see three metal stakes lodged against a tree, the barber couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

Seriously. Whoever made this garden of death must either hate animals or hate intruders. One or the other.

Zeon G. Zephyrfield
When Albi left, Zeon was staring at the journal resting on his folded legs. Hmmm... His eyes traced the lines of the mini map as he focused on the meeting place. Just have to go there and I should be seeing many familiar faces. Not to mention possibly finding out the mystery overshadowing this island. It was clear on what he had to do, but for some reason he just didn't feel like getting up. Huh. Seemed the spot he'd taken up in the middle of the road became rather comfy over the few minutes he'd been there, though really and truly it was just him being lazy as humanly possible. Guess a moment of peace wouldn't hurt, the calm before the storm they say. Closing his eyes with a breath of fresh air, Zeon interlocked his fingers together, bowed his head, and gave off the appearance of a monk during meditation.

Wasn't too long before he was fast asleep in the middle of the way. Legs still folded neatly as he hadn't strayed from his initial position in the slightest. Zeon was like a statue, silent, solid in stance, and completely oblivious to the world around him. It was highly unlikely that Zeon would be going anywhere for a while anytime soon without external interference.

She knew it! They were the ship people! Of course they were! No way she of all minks would mess up twice in a row of who the ship people were! Perfect! Now to bring them to Sora and tell him about the pretty thing he needed to get! She was about to just bolt off, but the voice of another ship person stopped her and she looked over her shoulder to see a third one! This was just fantastic! The more ship people she brought the more pretty things he would probably get! Obviously too excited for her own good Albi ran a few times in a circle and did a small hop or two, just a bundle of energy right now.

She decided to be patient enough for the ship people to stop talking their gibber. Luckily for them they stopped it before her patience. The moment she noticed they stopped talking she bolted off. Bee lining straight for Sora, she didn't look back even once to see if the others were following. She had just assumed they would, since they should right? Sora wanted the ship people so the ship people should come to Sora, unless she got the situation wrong.... Ah who cares! Sora was going to get pretty things later!!!

At this time Sora looked up at the sky and simply took a small breath. "Been a bit already." He mumbled outloud as he did a small stretch to get out a few krinks that the two tackles may have caused him...that or they happened because he passed out on the floor last night. Either or. "Lets go, if others are coming they will be able to see our footprints or obvious trail. Though if they have Albi...well I doubt we'll make it to the fence before others show up." Chuckling to himself really he started to walk off toward the fence, letting the others follow or do whatever they please, it was really up to them.

Rosa, Teri, Mac, Alex
I don't mind at all, feel free to eat with us, though I warn you, it will get a bit loud soon." Rosa said with a soft smile as she started to plate the pancakes. "As for your friends, well they all left at random times though I'm not certain why. Either way I'm sure they will come back soon enough, after all their stomachs need to be filled. Admittedly there are some berries and such in the jungle, but unless you have built up a great immune system, well... It is a great risk to your health." Rosa hummed as she placed a stack of pancakes in front of Keya.

"The animals can handle all the berries and other fruits here because they were born like that." Mac said in a matter of fact tone as she piled her breakfast onto her plate.

"Ya, but we can't..... I mean we don't die unless you are allergic to them, but that stuff can through you do a loop." Teri said as he pushed Mac away from the food so he can get some.

"You should know! Hahaha Stop pushing me! Those are mine!"

"It was one time okay! The berries looked good and they were eating them so I figured it was safe! And no, those are yours these are mine!"

Alex who was sitting quietly at the table watched the two before looking down at his feet. "The animals used to, at one point, there was a time they would eat them..." He said softly as he fumbled with his hands while Rosa put a plate in front of him.

At this the other two stopped fighting and went to their seats as they started to eat. "Ya....The jungle will probably overgrow with those fruits. None of which are good for us or the crops, just the animals....that..aren't there..." Teri mumbled softly.

"Ya...."

Rosa looked at the kids and smiled at them. "Now don't worry, I'm sure the animals are fine, where ever they are. Come now, eat, that should put you all in a better mood." She hummed as she placed a bowl in front of Keya.

"Hey, do you think you or your friends could find out whats going on?" Teri asked as he looked at Keya. "They seemed interested in the subject so I thought...."

"Don't go asking people you just met for favors Teri." Rosa warned as she started to make more pancakes.

"But miss Rosa! What if they can help? Shouldn't we ask them?"

"No, they are tourist, they aren't here to be bothered by our problems."

"Oh...okay then"

"I hope they help, support, assist us, they seem like they could." Alex said softly as he ate.

"Hahaha! We don't need their help! We are R.F.A.P!!! If anything they need our help to save the animals!"

"I still think we should change the abbreviation...."

"SHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Its perfect!"

Rosa sighed and tapped Mac's head with a spoon. "I'm sure they do need your help. But no shouting at the table, we have a guest, not to mention you will wake everyone up."

"Sorry miss Rosa." Mac said with a grin as she continued to eat.

As Tristan fumbled around the woods not doing the worlds best job at moving towards the village (though he was doing a great job at triggering every other trap). Two men were not far from where the barber and the passed out sharp shooter were located.

"Another one!? Come on! Who keeps setting off all these damned traps!" A man shouted frustrated as he now was tasked with fixing said trap, while the other that accompanied him simply shrugged as he leaned against a tree. "This is the fourth...FIFTH damn one since we patrolled this area! Not a single corpse or animal in them, I bet its one of our guys just messing with me again."

"Meh."

"What do you mean meh!? I think it was fucking Steve, he's been eyeing me weird lately...probably was just waiting for me to come here, check the traps, so he can laugh at the extra work."

"Meh."

"Bah, who keeps setting them off? The hunters know to keep the hell away from here or they get a bullet were no one wants a bullet..."

"Follow the tracks...fresh."

"Why don't you follow the damn tracks instead of just laying against a damned tree!"

"Meh."

"..........I hate you."

"Meh."

Groaning the man that was resetting the trap stood up and looked around. "Fine let's follow the damn tracks you lazy piece of trash."

The other simply shrugged and pushed off the tree as he started somberly walk off in the direction of the very fresh tracks.

After only a bit of walking they both her a rather loud thunk thunk thunk, not too far from them. "Another facking trap! Come on! I swear if whatever triggered it isn't dead! I will make sure they are! I'm sick of having to reset these damn things even if they aren't facken needed!"

"Meh."

Giving the other a grimace the two bolted in the direction of last trap to be triggered.

In the village a woman was sitting on a table not too far away from where Syrin was, seemingly trying to read a book. However this wasn't the case in the least, rather there was something hidden in between the pages that she had been taking care in reading, and it wasn't the book. As she sat there 'reading' she happened to overhear parts of a conversation, a conversation that peaked her interest.

Alas she didn't get all the important information, which meant she had to get up from her nice shaded spot to go over and converse with the other to get the information she needed. Taking in a deep breath she stood up, and made her over to Syrin, who had just finished talking to another group of people who had at one time been complaining about the sun.

Approaching the other, she offered him a small smile and a wave, obviously a tad nervous to actually talk to him. Though that was mainly because she wasn't one to just go up to someone and strike a conversation. This time however, she figured to make an exception. "Um, hi. I didn't mean to eavesdrop...but um, were you talking to those people about a...a um...a way to stop the sun from bothering us...I mean me. Sorry, I didn't hear everything so I wan-wanted to co-come up an-and see if I could learn more, though if you um... I'll shut up now and let you respond...sorry." The woman stayed in a shy tone as she pulled her purse a close to her as if that were to comfort her in this situation of actually talking to someone.

Syrin InsinuAs Syrin finished not-so-subtly directing a few more villagers to Risa, he allowed himself a moment to regain his breath. Truthfully, he probably should be figuring out what exactly was going on in the jungle, but considering Sora and his crew were now going to try and get a handle on that, he figured that the best option for him was to not try and figure out what's going on in the jungle because then he wouldn't have to deal with the crew, and by extension, likely not cause any problems that would likely end up with him getting attacked or attacking someone and proceeding to have to evade an angry crew.

Stretching out his limbs, he paused as he saw someone, a fairly cute girl from what he could discern, smile and wave at him. Assuming that she wanted to talk about something fairly important, because really what other reason would someone have to approach a fellow with his disposition, though he supposed his shenanigans of convincing others to go to a hat stand made him a bit more approachable than usual. He would really have to find a time to be his truly dower and morose self when he got off this island, it wouldn't do for his reputation to be sullied from extenuating circumstances.

Snapping out of his reverie, Syrin quietly listened to what the young woman was saying, contemplated it for a moment, inwardly proud that he had indirectly gotten someone interested in Risa's hats, then nodded at the woman. "I did in fact speak of a way to conquer the harsh rays of the sun. A wondrous craftsman of head apparel resides in this village at the moment and her works are truly magnificent. Come, allow me to escort you to her." He pauses and dips his head in a slight bow. "Where are my manners. My name is Syrin Insinu, pleased to make your acquaintance."

Tristan Roads
Location: Jungle, Silent Isle
Squatting on the branch of a particularly large tree, shaded from view by some oversized greenery, Tristan peered down at the two silver-haired boys that had followed his tracks to his last location. It wasn’t hard to tell he was being followed. They weren’t particularly quiet about it. Especially the loud one.

Probably not hunters then.

One arm still circled around Seth’s body to keep the wild redhead on his shoulders, Tristan’s other hand had its grip on the large eye-ring behind his back. For now, watching and waiting was probably best. They were his first useful encounter since walking past the fence after all. Seth didn’t count. If he was lucky, they’d lead him to some cute fluffy animals. If not…well it was no skin off his back. So long as they didn’t attack him of course.

But there’s also another possibility…

That they were Seth’s friends. Sora and Syrin, if he remembered correctly—which he was certain he did—since his memory was perfect. Like his hair. And everything else about him that actually mattered of course. Glancing at Seth, Tristan repressed the urge sigh. If the obnoxious punk that called him a Barbie were awake, Tristan could’ve asked just asked him. It would’ve made his life so much easier. Then again, having the talkative redhead awake might have made things needlessly annoying. Easy would’ve been just leaving Seth’s body were his tracks ended for the two trap setters to find.

Who knows? They might be friends. Still…

It would’ve been terribly irresponsible of him to do so without first double-checking. And Tristan, if nothing else, considered himself a responsible person. He had taken on the task of bringing Seth to a doctor, or at least his friends, despite the trouble it would cost him. Therefore, Tristan wouldn’t settle for anything less. To do otherwise would’ve been wasting his time. Blue eyes returned to the two figures beneath him critically. Tristan mostly focused their hair, but he also noticed their sharp, amber eyes…which did seem a little animal-like in his opinion.

If I can’t find a cute, fluffy animal for Rosa, perhaps I could take them and…

Tristan shook his head, stopping his train of thought before it could go down the path of disturbing. A legacy of his pirating youth. For now, he had a decision to make. Stay silent and stalk them to where animals potentially are or make his presence known. One was safer, possibly more informative, the other wasted less time. Then again, he wasn’t much of a ninja anyway. Setting Seth down on the branch, in a position where the sleeping guy wouldn’t fall—probably—, Tristan fluidly dropped from the tree. The barber straightened, taking the time to dust himself off before shooting the two men a careless smile.

“Hello there. Would either of you happen to be Captain Sora or Syrin?”

Norman "Easily Distracted By His Birb" Newman and Hawky the Birbfriend

Norman was trotting along in a goofy fashion, swinging his arms forward and deliberately stepping heavily as he followed Sora. On his shoulders Hawky was intently staring at his feet and trotting in time with his steps. Many would assume Hawky would be painful to have do that looking at his wicked sharp talons, but Norman didn't seem to make a single face. Was he that oblivious to pain or was the bird extra careful? Who knows? But they were both clearly over the moon to have each other's company again.

"Your'e gonna love it Hawky. The crew is
mostly awesome! We got a panda man, and a weird animal smelling doctor guy, and a shark lady, and a really grumpy guy who likes to act tough, and bunches more! We only just started sailing and we already found an island that's weird and I got to stab someones butt! How great is that!" Norman spoke this so quickly many would wonder how he didn't pass out. Answer: He's too cool.

Hawky danced in a circle mimicking Norman's excitement. Hawky had a great idea for fun. She was going to pick up friend like before times! She lifted with all her might while flapping her might wings! A surprised yet pleased sound came from friend as Hawky lifted him five, ten, thirty feet into the air. He was heavier than he used to be, but not so much she couldn't do this all day! She was strong for friend! She puffed out her chest in pride as friend yelled out happily. A good sun time already!

Keya Fenris
Keya giggled a little bit and smiled before shaking her head, "I don't mind loud at all!" She replied cheerfully. Heck, she was probably the loudest person she knew. If they could beat her in that department then she'd be incredibly impressed. As Rosa explained where the rest of the crew went, or rather...told her the bare minimum details of what she knew, she sighed gently. "I hope they'll be alright then. I'm sure they just went out for something." She commented, shrugging her small shoulders.

She smiled as the kids all started up their arguing, honestly finding them to be sweet kids. Much kinder than some that she'd met, or really even some at her old village. She laughed a little as Mac admitted to eating the berries. Though she was curious if they would have a drug like effect or just make you incredibly sick. That should have to possibly test, just because she was curious.

She frowned when the animals were mentioned, glancing suspiciously to Rosa as she more or less immediately mentioned the animals being fine again. There was definitely something wrong and she was determined to find it out. "Thank you." She commented quickly when food was placed before her before digging in, the little dwarf continuing to listen to the conversation.

When Mac asked if they could help she was going to comment, and pretty much instantly agree, until Rosa stepped in. Of course a small argument ensued; the groups acronym being mentioned and causing Ferra to giggle again. Once things quieted down though the pink headed girl spoke up, "Well. I would love to help!" She told them cheerfully. "I'm sure everyone else would too, if they aren't already looking for answers." She said. "Don't worry, I'm sure we can figure it out." She assured them, smiling brightly as she did so.

Cait Merlin
Cait giggled as Albi energetically hopped and ran around. The mink became even more endearing to her after that. Once Albi bolted off, Cait began to quickly jog after her. With the mink's fast pace, it wasn't long until Cait started to see pairs of human shoe prints in the dirt. One of them had to belong to Captain Sora. She smiled at the mink, never doubting her skills at finding her owner., though her smile quickly faded as something above them caught her attention.

Cait cupped a hand over her eyes and looked up as she continued to run. A look of surprise and worry appeared on her face as she realized that she was seeing a bird pushing Norman into the air. Cait picked up her pace and ran past Albi. The fishwoman hybrid relied on Norman's position in the sky and the footprints as she continued to try to reach the others. After spotting her Captain and another crewmate, she stopped running and caught her breath while standing beside Sora. "Where did that bird come from?" she said between breaths.

Grumpy and not so Grumpy
When Tristan appeared before the two, both the men stopped in their tracks and looked at the new comer. When they were asked if they were one, if not both those people the other had mentioned they raised a brow. Looking at each other for a moment before looking back at Tristan, the more grumpy of the two spoke. "Who the fuck are you." Of course he said this in the not so kindest way possible, his hand traveling to his waist were a blade ever so casually hanged there. "You sure as frick aint Steve, so why the fack ain't you skewered, smashed, dying in a hole or none of that?" He asked as he narrowed his eyes trying to size the other up. "If you are going to set off the traps you could have the damn courtesy of actually getting killed by one! Do you know how much work it is to reset all of them?!"

".................Meh."

At this the man had to roll his eyes. "If you do not stop with the Meh I will stab you!"

"Meh."

You could practically hear the internal screaming coming from the former of the two as he glared daggers at the other. Rather than try and strangle his partner the more irritated one looked back at Tristan. "Everything just wants to irritate me today! Just fracken everything! You for instance since you are the only one in the woods within a mile of us I'm assuming you set off the traps! I worked hard on those! If you aren't going to fall for them avoid them! Its not that hard!!"

The other man who was simply resting against a tree shrugged his shoulders. "Meh."

"I hate you....I hate you so much." Taking a deep breath, a aura of pure irritation seemed to just flow form him as he didn't even bother looking at his partner rather he kept his eyes on Tristan. "You have five seconds to tell us why the fock you are here, and why you destroyed my traps. Normally i'd give you six but, I'm irritated."

"Like always."

"What did you say!?"

Sora Z. Lachance & Albi
While walking to his destination Sora didn't say a thing as he simply listened and observed his surroundings. He couldn't help but let out a light sigh as he listened to Norman speak. He didn't say anything to Norman, however its not like he got a chance to say a thing. For as soon as Norman had stopped speaking, well to put it simply the ninja was no longer in a place where Sora could just have a casual conversation. The sight of the bird lifting Norman up into the air caused Sora to stop in his tracks as he watched them go. "........" For a moment he said nothing however, after a second or several he shook his head and kept walking. "Noooooooooope."

Personally Sora didn't see how one would ever willingly go so far from the beautiful beautiful ground, you know the more often than not safe ground. Going up in the air like that....well to put it simply that was just so much nope, at least for Sora.

As he walked on he soon arrived at the rather large fence that seemed to stretch on for miles. "......It was taller then I was expecting..." He muttered as he just stood there gazing at it, his hands in his pockets making absolutely zero attempts to climb it. "A lot higher, ten feet? Maybe more? Where is the gate, I could have sworn I saw one on the map." After muttering this out he reached into his pocket and pulled out the map of the island and started to inspect it once again.

It wasn't' long after he started to inspect the map did someone take his attention away from it. Looking to his side he saw it was Cait speaking to him. "Ah you made it, seems Albi did a good job." He said before glancing over his shoulder only to see Xiao as well as Elijah approach as well as Albi. "She did really well." He hummed before turning his gaze back to the map as he responded to Cait's question. "The bird there is Norman's friend, just met her today after she killed a news coo and gave me the newspaper, before tackling me to the ground. Other than the fact that I might have back problems because of her and her friend, she's nice bird." He said ever so casually as he folded the map to look at only a specific section.

By this time Albi had finally caught up to them, not a very hard feat for the excitable mink. The moment she caught up to them she raced up Sora's pants leg and got all the way over to his shoulder. Arriving there she was panting quite a bit from all her running around and was only now getting a moment to breath.

Reaching up Sora gently petted Albi's head and gave her a kind smile. "Very good job there Albi." He said simply as he reached into his pocket and pulled out some pieces of jerky he was saving for her. With zero hesitation Albi took the pieces and gobbled them up happily. After she did this Sora looked behind him at his small group. "Glad to see you guys could join us, seems there is some trouble going on in these woods. And curiosity is getting the best of me so I'm planning to take a peek or maybe a bit more than that. Either way, I have a feeling that it would be best to have others with me which is why I asked Albi to get you." He said before walking to the side. "There should be a gate just over here...."

The idea of climbing over the fence didn't cross his mind for even a moment. The fence was completely climbable, and it was only like ten feet all, not that much at all! Sure falling may result in a twisted ankle, but climbing would be the quickest way from point A to point B. This fact was known to Sora but why climb when only a few meters away there was a perfectly usable gate.

As he moved to the gate Albi suddenly perked up as she heard a noise not to far off. After a moment of silence Albi scampered down Sora's shoulder and raced over to the fence.

"Albi? Where are you going??" Sora asked as he looked down at the mink.

She didn't give a response, rather she scurried off. Easily crawling under the fence due to a small hole providing the perfect passage for a mink like herself. Once she got the other side she bolted off once again going deeper into the jungle. She had heard something of interest, voices to be more precise and she could have sworn she smelt something similar so of course she had to go investigate! Her human would just have to catch up.

"Where is she going now???" Sora asked, he wanted to go straight after her, but he still needed to get to the gate.

Cait Merlin
Cait cupped a hand over her eyes and looked up at Hawky and Norman. The bird was Norman's pet, but that didn't really explain why it was rocketing her friend into the sky. "...." Cait stood dumbfounded. A couple seconds later she let out a sigh and turned her attention back to her captain. If Norman's pet got him up in the sky, it could bring him back down.

Cait started to follow Sora and listened to what he said. "There's defiantly something going on around here. Xiao told me he was attacked by some men out here that thought he was an animal. I'd say that's proof that the animals didn't migrate," she replied. She still sounded a little angry about that; Xiao isn't an animal, he's a panda man.

Cait followed her captain in silence, before looking over his shoulder to take a peak at the map. The gate had to be somewhere nearby. The fishwoman hybrid was surprised when Albi darted off again after looking like she'd be sticking around. "Maybe another crewmate is ahead of us," she said to Sora before she started to chase after the mink; though the fence stopped the musician from getting to far away from her crewmates.

Cait eyes the small hole in the fence for a couple seconds. Suddenly a light bulb went off in her head and she gripped both sides of the hole with her hands. Using her fishwoman strength, Cait made the hole in the fence even bigger, big enough for people to go through single file. "Guys, this way," Cait called to the crew. "We can't let Albi get out of our sight," she said, leaving out the obvious reason as to why. There were animal snatchers in these woods and Cait wasn't going to let the captain's pet get kidnapped. She began to chase after the mink, but made sure that she was running at a pace that would allow her crewmates to catch up to her.

Tristan Roads
The careless smile of greeting slowly disappeared from Tristan’s face with each word spoken by the loudmouth trap-setter. Clearly the silver-haired man had been had been having a rough day—something Tristan could almost sympathize with since his own day thus far hadn’t been very pleasant either. Almost being the key word. Perhaps if the angry punk before him weren’t so obviously part of the reason for his unpleasant day, Tristan would’ve been more sympathetic. Or if the man was belonged to the opposite gender. Sadly he was neither so Tristan felt no need to cater to his unsightly whims. The barber’s gaze flitted to the one leaning against a tree, before resettling on the grumpy who one demanded an answer from him.

“Why should I answer your questions when you won’t answer mine?” Arms folded across his chest, Tristan sighed before fixing the angry one with a look that was half-pitying, half condescending. If they were Seth’s friends, the talkative redhead had some pretty rude friends. Then again, the wild-looking man who tried to help him wasn’t exactly the epitome of non-rudeness either. Hadn’t he said his one of his friends was grumpy? Either way, if none of them answered each other’s question, then none of them would get anywhere…and it wasn’t as if Tristan wanted to stay in a god-forsaken jungle for longer than necessary. “Do I look like someone who spends his life trekking through dirt, mud, and trees? The only reason I’m still alive is because of my stunning ingenuity and impeccable reaction time when it comes to dangerous objects coming my way.”

He didn’t mention having fallen for one of the traps, then climbing out with the help of Seth’s rope. Tristan narrowed his eyes. Now that I think about again, why would Seth try to help out of the hole if his friend wanted him stuck and dying in the hole? This guy doesn’t even seem to know about Seth being in the forest...

“Those traps of yours are a menace.” Tristan continued smoothly. “What if I had actually died? It would’ve been a travesty to good hair care all over the world.” Tristan flipped his soft red hair with the back of his palm. The confidence in his tone and expression was undeniable. “I’m a barber, you see. Formerly an employee of the Smiling Aphrodite and their top hairstylist. One of the best of the best. My…assistant…and I came to this island at the behest of our client. However, because of all the unnecessary hazards lying around in this little garden we got lost, the map given to us somewhere beneath a pool of quicksand, and my assistant is stricken with some sort of poison. Thankfully there doesn’t seem to be any man-eating beast around here or I’d take this up with my lawyer. Do you see the state of my clothes?” Tristan straightened his black jacket which still had a bit of dirt on it from his earlier fall in the pit trap. His voice was clipped. “I demand compensation for all the trouble we went though.”

He looked the angry one up and down, before his eyes settled amber-eyed guy’s silver locks. “I’d demand it from you, but judging from the shoddy job done on your hair, you don’t have much money on you, Trap-setter.”

Stepping closer the grumpy one, probably closer than what was normally comfortable, Tristan bent over and twirled a stray silver strand around one finger. “The style is fine, but the cut is clearly made by an amateur. Uneven and messily done. Did you do it yourself? Mr. Meh’s, over there, looks at least slightly better...” Gaze once more flickering to the man against the tree, Tristan studied the relaxed man for a moment before returning his attention to the angry one. He dropped the strand and straightened, a smirk on his features. “Of course, you probably can’t afford my talents anyway so this conversation is pointless. Take me to your boss.”

Once upon a time there was a Syrin and a mystery girl
The girl listened to everything the other had to say as she stood there rather nervously, obviously not used to just going up and talking to a stranger. At the offer she blinked a bit before looking around as if hoping someone would help her speak to Syrin in her stead. "I um hat well you see.." She mumbled out before realizing that Syrin wasn't done talking. Swiftly she clamped her mouth shut until she was dead certain that he was done with his introduction. "Hi, I...um names right I'm just um give me a moment." She mumbled before taking a deep breath, slowly exhaling she looked up at Syrin with a soft smile. "I'm not the best talker, but my name is Lilic pleasure to meet you Syrin."

She said her hands behind her back as he purse hanged by her side. Around now one could start to notice the crowd was beginning to thin out. Likely just people going about their day, though it is a bit surprising how few people remained. Especially if one noticed the far more lively crowd that had been there mere moments before. Now only a few men were about chatting about themselves, leaning on walls etc though none seemed interested in the conversation Syrin was having with Lilic.

Softly clearing her throat before she could end up making a fool of herself, Lilic kept her smile. "You um...said you would lead me to the hat stand? I get rather easily lost so if you were honest about the offer...I don't mind taking it.. Cause the last thing I need is to end up in that jungle. I mean I wouldn't end up there because the gate says no trespassing and I wouldn't want to break the law. I mean they aren't going to really enforce it, its more of a warning to yourself then anything. I mean...I'll stop talking soon. Hat stand please? I promise I won't ramble or even speak as you take me there." As she said the last bit her hands moved to her face as she covered it completely embarrassed from how she so quickly started to ramble.

Rosa, Alex, Mac & Teri
When Keya said she as well as the rest of her crew intended to help in the kids search the children couldn't help but grin happily. Who wouldn't want an all mighty dwarf by their side in a hunt for the truth??? Rosa on the other hand wasn't truly happy about the response as she gave a small look of disapproval to Keya however she didn't address what she said.

It didn't take long at all for the kids to finish their breakfast, no sooner did they, did even more kids start to enter the room to get their food as well. Each one starving. Quickly the trio put away their dishes before going over to Keya. "We should leave, exit, say goodbye for the time being. Since we don't want to crowd the dining room." Alex said softly as he pointed outside. "We can go out there and talk-"

"Hold up! Don't start ordering people around! That's my job!"

"Oh, it was just a thought, idea, something that came to mind."

"Keya lets go outside and thing about our battle strategies! With your help R.F.A.P will be unbeatable! We could totally solve this mystery in a blink or several blinks of an eye."
Mac exclaimed excitedly before she immediately walked out of the kitchen to head outside for the others.

"Ya lets talk there okay? Um ya." Alex followed and shortly the quite Teri did as well.

Grumpy with bad hair, not so grumpy with not as bad hair, Albi and Sora Z. Lachance
Through out the entire talk the angrier one had been rather silent, as he continued to fume with every single word that left Tristan's mouth. "Compensation? " he asked in a low growl as his fist balled up till his knuckles turned white. "IF ANYONE WANTS COMPENSATION ITS ME! DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES TO SET THOSE DAMN THINGS UP!?" He hollered as he gritted his teeth, several tick marks appearing on his forehead when the criticism about his hair reached him. "WHY YOU PUNK!!!"

The other was now gently moving his fingers through his hair. "Ha, my hair is better than yours."

"I WILL SOCK YOU SILLY!"

"Meh."

"No one is going to miss you and you fracking corpse."

"You forgot about the hairdresser didn't you?"

"SHUT UP I'M GETTING TO THAT!!!"

"Meh."

Glaring at his partner for a moment the grumpy one turned his attention back to Tristan. "You can be the a new fresh prince for all I care but you aint going to see the boss. Compensation are you fracken kidding me, I should shoot you now! How would that be for compensation!" Just as he said that his partner tugged a bit on his sleeve before pointing right behind Tristan. Right there before their eyes everyone could see a white thing bounding over to them at a rather swift pace.

"The hell? Why the frack is there an animal here???? No way in any damned did we miss any." The grumpier one growled before squinting a bit as now through the trees he saw other figures approaching. "OH COME ON! WILL SOMEONE DIE TO THOSE TRAPS?!"

Sora who was a small distance behind Cait, had used the hole she created to chase after Albi. As he ran, only a few feet behind her, he had no trouble hearing someone screaming at the top of their lungs to what seemed to be another person. It was hard to hear the first part but as he got closer it was getting clearer, something about punching someone? "What am I getting into now because of you albi?" Sora grumbled as he picked up the pace a bit. The moment he heard another line of shouts he saw the owner before him. Two rather not so friendly looking guys and one other man who seemed to be on a different level than the other two.

Slowing his pace to a jog before stopping he, and those with him were now rather close to the three men. "Secret party? I can hear screaming from a mile away." He said only to receive a glare of pure rage. "Lovely company I see...."

"Meh."

"Who. The Fack. Are. All. Of. You?" The other growled in a serious and dangerous tone. Such a tone made the initially curious Albi to stop sniffing the two as she now backed up slowly, moving to the closet friendly which ever so happened to be Cait.

Sora tilted his head to the side and was quiet for a moment before he went ahead and introduced himself, since he was ever so nice like that. "Sora Z. Lachance, aspiring pirate and pirate king." He stated in a matter of fact tone as he seemed to study the men before him.

Just as the grumpy one was about to open his mouth, mr meh grabbed his sleeve and shook his head. "Too many...." He said softly as he saw the others approaching.

The Hatter: Risa Talone
More daylight continued passing and eventually time found Risa sighing.

The day was so boring! She was selling hat after hat, but everything just felt like it was becoming too randomly easy. No one was really asking for any kind of hat that was a fun challenge for her to make - instead they were all looking for plain janes. She could hand them out all day, but that didn’t really show off the full talent that the Talone brand carried with it so it didn’t really feel like it was actually helping her at all with her goals. Risa also couldn’t help but feel that the fact that her own life had suddenly become so boring had to mean that something else was going on somewhere else… something else that would create more of a challenge.

Eventually, Risa’s curiosity got the better of her and she decided it was at least reasonable for her to put up a closed sign and take a lunch break. Granted, she wasn’t quite sure she was actually going to get anything to eat, but it was the only logical reason for her to leave the stand for a little while so that was what she disguised it as.

‘Where might I find something more interesting?’ she thought to herself as she started wandering. Not entirely sure where to go, she found her feet carrying her back towards the docks and once she could see the ocean, she knew why she had been there in the first place. That ship… that massive ship that was docked there… not only was she curious about the people on it and not only might it bring her to more interesting places to sell if she approached it right, but so far it had also offered her quite a few customers who had actually made for quality customers. When she made hats for them, at least for the two of them she had made hats for, she had been able to put her best effort into it and that made it worth it.

What better thing did a hatter have to do than peer onto a ship and see if she could find a customer? Risa didn’t have anything at all.

Wandering towards the large ship, Risa peered onto it. “Hello!? Anybody here? Anyone want to buy a hat… or get me off this boring island?” Her hand clamped over her mouth as she uttered that last bit because she usually wasn’t the kind of person who would insult a location while she was still at said location. Apparently this was very boring indeed.

Cait Merlin
Cait continued to chase after Albi. She could spot some men in the distance ahead of her. Was one asleep in a tree? After getting a little closer she realized the man in the tree was Seth and he looked more like he was unconscious than asleep. "Seth!" she called out sounding concerned. The plaid bikini-top clad fishwoman ran over to the tree and climbed up it. She grabbed Seth and put him over her shoulder, his head pressed against her back, before she climbed back down. She grabbed Seth and started to carry him over to Marcus. She gently placed her crewmate beside some bushes near the crew's doctor. "What happened to you, Seth?" she wondered aloud as she cradled her crewmate on the ground.

Cait made sure Seth's head gently fell onto the ground before finally turning her attention to the other men. Two out of the three seemed like they were together. The red haired man seemed to be a separate party. Maybe he was the one who had found Seth and had put him in the tree. Now didn't seem to be a good time to go down that route of questing. The grumpy man seemed to be picking a fight. "Looks like we found a couple animal snatchers," Cait said as she stood up and walked over toward Tristan and the other two men.

Once Cait stopped walking, she spotted Albi heading closer to her and felt honored that the mink would choose to go to her for protection. Cait crossed her arms in an X shape and pointed her dagger-like fins toward the animal snatchers. She give the grumpy one an angry, shark-like glare. "You better listen to your friend there." There was no way she'd allow the animal snatchers to mess with her crew and that included the mink.

Tristan Roads
“Sora? You’re Sora?” Ignoring the angry man that had been screaming at him like a barbarian, Tristan turned to appraise the new arrival—a maroon haired individual dressed in red and black. Notable were the tattoo markings on the man’s face and neck. However, even more notable were his words, spoken with simple nonchalance despite the absurdity of it. A finely shaped eyebrow arched as Tristan assessed the self-claimed pirate before his gaze traveled to the others that arrived with him. They were undoubtedly Seth’s friends. At least, based on the female Fishman’s reactions, they were. Blue eyes followed the curves of the red haired woman, admiring the toned muscles displayed as she brought Seth down from the tree before making her way to them. His lips curved up in amusement and, unable to help himself, Tristan bent over, hugging his stomach as his shoulders shook and laughter escaped his mouth. “Hahaha, just what I’d expected from Seth’s companions. I’ve been looking for you guys. ”

An aspiring pirate king. A female fishman. Was the scarfed man being carried by a bird their comrade too? Either way, it was much better than the worst case scenario which was that Seth’s friends were entirely imaginary—a possibility the barber hadn’t discounted, given what he knew of his ‘savior’. Tristan was pleased he’d managed to find them. Or rather, they had found him. Whichever worked so long as he was free of his burden. Straightening, Tristan took a moment to compose himself before reaching into his pocket to pull out a branch with white berries, which he tossed on top of Seth’s sleeping body. “That’s what I’m guessing your friend consumed to end up...like that. Study it, make an antidote, take him to a medical expert, or wait for it for it to hopefully clear itself out of his system the natural way. Whichever you think best for your friend. Either way, I’m sure Seth will be fine. After all, with such a caring lady worrying about him, how can he not be?”

Attention now completely on the shark lady that was glaring at the two trap setters/animal snatchers, Tristan got close enough to let the fingers of one hand trail lightly, almost curiously over the edges of fiery red hair. Gently he lifted a small handful to his lips—a light touch of greeting and a charming smile on his face. “Tristan Roads,” he introduced, giving more than he’d given Seth or the angry trap setter. “A wandering barber, hairdresser, swordsman, and lover of all things beautiful. Forgive me if I seem a little forward. It’s been a while since I’ve come across the strong, unyielding hair of a Fishman and the temptation draws me in like a moth to a flame.” Blue eyes twinkled as they studied the red strands of Fishman hair in his hand. “Would you do me the honor of allowing me to cut it? Free of charge, of course.” Pausing, as if finally remembering where he was, the barber glanced at the two silver-haired men distastefully and heaved a sigh, releasing the female Fishman’s hair. “Ah, but if you want to deal with them first there’s really no helping it...”

Reaching behind him, Tristan drew the two halves of his large scissor, both blades the size of broadswords. “Setting traps that might have killed me, wanting to kill me, threatening to shoot me, screaming at me—the list of grievances against me just go on and on. Even when I was nice enough not to demand compensation from a poor-looking punk like you, you won’t even let me complain to your boss.” Lifting his left arm, Tristan pointed the length of one of his weapons at the grumpy one. “At least give me a good reason as to why you’re setting these hazardous things. Otherwise, my infinitesimal patience will wear thin and your bad day is only going to get worse and worse.”

Xiao- Not so amused

"Yanyanyanyanyanyan!" Xiao laughed, but he wasn't having fun. His laugh was a cold one. One could almost see an omnious aura surrounding him. He concentrated on the two enemies up front, and didn't care much about Tristan's flirty behaviour towards Cait.

Alfa Presence

He released his fear inducing bloodlust. "So you two put these traps around here, huh?" the panda-man's eyes pierced like daggers "If the kids would have went in the forrest...they would have died. If any animal would have somehow tried to escape, it would have died." at this point Xiao was merely stating a fact, rather than talking to the two brothers. He said it on a very angry tone. He seemed lost in thought for a few seconds, but...

Ghost Walk

He simingly disappeared from sight, only to reappear in front of the more talkative and grumpy enemy. "You...are not really in a position to act aggressively...or intimidatingly." Xiao sai coldly, as his voice droped. He also smiled in a scary way, the same as he did with those men that tried to kidnap him before.
