West Blue Arc: Zoomania

Teri

The thought that ran through the blue haired male at this time was that his current action was a genius one.  Sneaking up on an enemy ship using a canoe as cover, it was all around perfectly thought out!  Fool proof really, sure he may have forgot to count the fact that those cannon balls that were hurling to the enemy ship could very well hit him.  However that's neither there or here, he had a self assigned mission, to sneak aboard the ship and take care of any potential threat.   "Heheh...this is going to be sooo easy~  Can't wait to rub it in Mac's face how I soloed a ship of bad guys.  Just like in my stories to, she's going to be so jealous!  Going to give them an upper cut here and a kick there!"  The boy exclaimed as he continued to swim along with the canoe as he kept smiling to himself, several fantasies of how he will save the day rushing through his mind.  No scenario even scratched the thought of him failing miserably.

He shook his head to get out of his dreams and ducked under the water to see how much further till he could sneak aboard the ship.  However when he did this he was caught completely off guard by what he saw.  Seeing Cait less than two feet away from him, the boy blinked several times in astonishment, as he knew for a fact!  That girl wasn't there the last time he checked how far he was from his destination.  He just starred at her for a few seconds taking her full appearance before he let scream underwater losing all of his air.  Panicking a bit at the sight he swam up so fast that after he broke from the water surface he ended up ramming his hand into the bottom of the canoe he was using as cover rather hard. "GAAAAAAH! ITS THE SEA MONSTER!  SEA MONSTER!!!!   HELP I DON"T WANT TO BE EATEN!!!!"  He shouted in a panic as he now desperately tried to get the canoe top sided so he could climb aboard and get away from Cait.  To the boy the friendly girl was something out of his comics and the stories that his best friend had told him really didn't help with his imagination.  "I'M SORRY OKAY!?  DON'T EAT ME!  I'M GETTING OUT OF THE WATER!!! GO AWAY!!!"

Sora Z lachance

Sora watched as a canon ball headed right for the ship and cussed internally since he couldn't move the ship out of the way in time.  'IF SHE GETS A SINGLE HOLE IN HER I'M GOING TO  BRUTALLY MURDER WHOEVER IS SHOOTING AT US!!!' He initially thought, though much to his relief Cait came in and saved the day with her amazing half fishman abilities.   Sora had to place a hand over his heart (Albi who was on his shoulder copied him placing a paw over her heart) as he left out a sigh of relief (again something that the mink copied).   After that he grinned and gave Cait a thumbs up in approval of her quick moves to protect the ship. "Nice save."  He said as he watched her repeat the processes as another canon ball sored through the sky and headed for the ship, only a bit after the first.  Standing in his spot on the middle of the ship Sora looked in the direction of the shooting for a moment but his attention was taken by Cait again.  "Okay go ahead, don't get blown out of the water."   He didn't know how to defend the boat from future canon fir-....never mind.   He didn't really get a chance to worry as Norman came out of pretty much no where with his ninja self ready and very willing to go into action.

He watched as the ninja got ready for the incoming canon ball and just as Sora thought the attack was going to hit his ever so precious ship... Norman saved the day by impressively redirecting the cannonball.  '........Two crewmates can either destroy or redirect a cannonball, I really got to step up my game.'  He thought with a light chuckle as he moved to the railing of the ship.  Yes this would be the time to hall it out of there, but...something wasn't right.  "One."  He muttered under his breath as he watched another canon ball fire to the ship.  "Two."  He watched as the ship was protected again and then he watched as the third shot came sailing toward them.  "That came from the same spot as shot one....It takes them about ten seconds to reload, not to bad......its only two cannons though.  Why not more?"

Still leaning on the rail he heard Syrin and looked at him from the corner of his eyes.  "Cait has that handled, lets avoid killing people till we know for a fact they should be killed."  He said with a light sigh as he returned his gaze to the island.  He was about to say something else but the fire of a cannon far closer caught his attention and his eyes darted to were it came from just in time to see a shot fired from his ship...fail epicly as it barely got several meters from the ship.   'Hm...maybe I should get a new cannon....'  Shrugging he pushed himself off the railing and looked at Syrin.  "Can you take the ship to port?  I was thinking we would have to hide it in a cove...but...."  he looked back at the island.  "Whoever is attacking us, I don't think they are part of the town.  If we go to that side of the island rather than the more empty cove there's a high chance they'll stop firing."   With there being only two cannons from the looks of things he had a hard time believing this was a self defense move from the sole village on the island.  Though if it turned out he was wrong...well he'll figure out what to do then.

He was about to move from his spot to adjust the sails if need be but before he could another shot rang out from his cannon and rather than see the cannon ball flop.  He watched it fly...he watched it fly with a tiny passenger on it.  "They...didn't...just do what I think they did..."  He didn't know if he should yell, sigh or groan at the sight.  He was 99.999% certain that Seth just shot Keya out of a rust cannon that could explode at any point from how old it was!  He watched the ball fly ever so glad that he had pulled a cheapskate move and gotten the cannonballs that didn't blow up, his grip was tight on the railing but thanks to Lady Luck (or maybe thanks to Seths great aim) the cannonball landed on the beach, though he had no clue if Keya was fine or not.  It was too far away to see her from where they were at.   Turning his head he looked at Seth with the 'we are going to talk about this' look before he moved away from the railing.  "We are going to port!  We shouldn't have to worry about the village attacking us!  But just incase be on guard!"  He shouted making sure everyone on the ship heard him.

Alex & Mac

Meanwhile up high in the trees, rather far from the shore.

"ARRRRRRRRRGH!!! Stupid ship!  It's suppose to sink after only a few shots right?! That's what the book showed us!"

"Um I think, maybe, could be a possibility that they are defending the ship..."

"Huh??? How?"

"Um....From what I can see, I think that a..................um..person pushed the cannonball off his...with his sword????"

"What...wait really!?  Dude that's so awesome-.... This is the enemy!  Alex don't get impressed!"

"I wasn't??  Was I?  No, nu uh, that didn't occur!"

"Oh hush! Fire the next cannonball!!!  I don't care if they can push away a few of them! We are going to get the bad guys! They cant do it forever!!"

"M-Mac...we can't either-"

"FIRE!"

Keya Fenris

"WOOOOO!" Keya cheered as she flew through the air on the cannonball, laughing wildly the entire time. When she neared the shore she waited for the perfect moment to launch herself from the ball, kicking the ball a few inches to her left and simultaneously face-planting into the sand. She was unhurt so she soon popped out of the silky white substance laughing and shaking herself off. She looked around curiously, seeing the ship she was launched from off in the distance. "I'm okay!" She shouted as loud as possible, knowing they likely didn't hear her. That done she looked around at the shore itself, starting to walk along it and sinking slightly into the sand with every step. Being short had its disadvantages.

After a while of wandering she heard voices, or rather faint sounds that sounded like shouting off in the distance along with cannon fire. That had to be where it was coming from. Grinning she ran in the direction as fast as her stubby legs could take her, dodging trees and in the instance of thinner trees busting her way through. She was on a mission! She didn't have time for no dumb trees getting in her way. After a while she stopped pretty sure she was near where she heard the voices. "HEY IS ANYONE HERE!?" She called out, slowly walking around.

Cait Merlin and Teri

"Eat ya? Why would I do that?" Cait asked as she helped Teri flipped his canoe so he could climb in. She was surprised to see a kid out in cannon ball infested waters. If he was any older she would have taken offense to being called a monster, but maybe he hasn't seen a fishman, hybrid or otherwise, up close and personal before. "Fishmen don't eat kids...we're not monsters," she added.

"Top o' the mornin' to ya. I'm Cait Merlin, big sis works too. What's your name?" Cait asked cherefully, before her facial expression changed to one of concern. "What are you doing out here, lad? Don't ya know there are cannonballs flyin' around?" she asked in a sisterly tone.

"Why would you?  Because you are the sea monster I was told about that eats the kids that try to go to far away from the island!  Duh!"  Teri exclaimed as he quickly clambered onto the fixed boat, honestly really disappointed that his sneak attack was a failure.  Going to the far end of it he sat down there and crossed his arms looking at her with a glare masking his worry with this.  "Fish.....men???  You mean...uhh... Mermaids that drag sailors to thier deaths!? By drowning them!?  Are you going to drown me??????  That's just as bad as being eat!  Almost!" He shouted while pointing at her accusedly.

At the next question Teri blinked a bit and grinned proudly.  "My name?  Ha! Like I would tell you that!  Also those cannonballs couldn't hurt me!  Friendly fire doesn't work like that! I know so!"

Cait leaned against the conoe and crossed her arms on top of her side of the conoe. "Fishmen and mermaids are two different things; fishmen have legs, mermaids have tails," she said, trying to set the record straight. "Either way only the bad ones do bad things, same as people. I don't know if ya can tell, but I'm only half fishman. My da is a human; my ma is a tigershark fishwoman."

Cait's concerned expression deepened as Teri explained the source of the cannonballs. "So your friends are firing them? Are they kids too?" she asked. "And friendly fire does work that way. Unless you have some sort of ability to deal with cannonballs, or other dangerous objects, you're just as likely to get hurt by 'em." The sisterly fishwoman let out a sigh. Either the island was small and secluded from the world, or someone didn't explain to this kid how the world worked.

"....Wait, what do you mean I can get hurt by them???  Nu uh I don't think you know what you are talking about fish woman, we came to an agreement that we are friends and because of this friendly fire makes it so we can't hurt each other!"  Teri said with a puffed up chest as if he knew what he was talking about.  The boy was a boy, he had no abilities about him other than his imagination.

Cait let out another sigh as she climbed into the canoe and stood on her side of it. "Looks like it's time for a lesson from big sis," she said with her hands on her hips. Cait pointed one of her dagger-like wrist fins at her forearm. She grimaced as she scratched herself; she purposefully gave herself a small wound, but the cut was deep enough to cause bleeding. "See that, lad?" she asked. "The way I figure it, I'm my biggest ally. So this is the result of friendly fire."

Cait glanced at her arm, then looked back at Teri. She was more concerned about the kid, he was putting himself in harms way without realizing it. "It's time you head back to the island. Tell your friends that we only want to buy supplies before heading off into the Grand Line. That's where the real monsters are." Cait turned her body to the ocean and held her wound against her tongue as she readied herself to jump into the water.

The boy couldn't help but blink in astonishment as he realized the true amount of danger he was in.  Sadly he didn't move sooner from his spot, as at that moment another canonball, one that was aimed for the Lucky Nova fell a bit short.  It was going to land dead center of the canoe.  The sound of the canonball flying caught Teri's attention and he saw it coming.  Bringing his hands above his head as if that would help him he let out a scream of fear of the incoming projectile.

Cait also heard the incoming cannonbal and Teri's distress. Luckily for the lad she hadn't jumped yet and was ready to spring. Using her fishwoman leg muscles, she cracked her side of the canoe as she sprung herself sideways. She grabbed Teri and held him close to her bikini-clad chest as they entered the water. Using her natural swimming skills, Cait resurfaced with the lad and easily kept both their heads above water even though she was doing all the swimming at the moment.

"Are you OK, lad? That was a close one...." she said, glancing at the now-damaged canoe.

The cannonball utterly decimated the canoe, however thanks to Cait's quick reflexes Teri remained unharmed but obviously horrified as he clung onto Cait.  His arms were wrapped around her neck rather tightly, though not enough to actually choke her.  "Th-Th-Thanks, wh-what the in plane of li-life is Leap th-thinking."  he stuttered out as he shook in fear his eyes now looking up at the sky worried of another possible cannonball.

Cait smiled down at Teri before she started to swim the two of them over to the Lucky Nova. Teri's canoe was no longer usable for the lad to get back home on. "Don't worry about the cannonballs. I'll protect you, so will my crew."

Cait climbed aboard the Lucky Nova and helped Teri do the same. "Captain, I believe the cannon fire is being caused by a couple of kids. They must think that we're dastardly, no good pirates." she reported. "I saved one of them from some friendly fire. This lad here is under my protection, so be on your best behavior, otherwise you gotta go through me first and ya ain't gonna like it," she added, giving a serious look at her crewmates. The fishwoman hybrid was in full big sister mode now.

Cait turned to look at Teri. "You ready to tell me your name?" she asked with a sisterly smile.

"You guys are pirates???  I didn't know that....oh... You should have a flag or something we wouldn't have shot at ya if ya did."  Teri said as he let go of Cait and landed on the deck of the ship, his arms crossed over his chest as he stood tall trying to act like as much of an adult as possible.  "And my name?  I can't tell ya that! Codenames."  He said with a nod feeling proud of his loyalty to his friends.  "I'm...uh... Toad!  Ya that's what it was!"

Marcus stood by, watching everyone prepare for the attack on the ship. He watched as Cait sent an airslash through the air to cut one of the cannonballs. The attack was similar to what she had done back in Mirstone, so he assumed that it was a form of martial arts that she knew. It was not something he had seen before, so he would have to ask her about it sometime in the future. He watched her jump into the water, and made his way over to the railing to look down at the capsized canoe she was making her way towards. He barely noticed as the ninja boy, Norman, appeared, and cut a cannonball in half. He was impressed, but not as much as the shipwright behind him. The brown-haired individual let out a celebratory holler, and when the doctor turned around to look at him, he was holding the bottle of alcohol up in the air. "Nice cut, buddy!" He brought the bottle down and took a swig before laughing once more.

Marcus grunted, glaring at the man with disdain. "You're drunk, Elijah."

Elijah gave Marcus a completely neutral stare, before his mouth twisted into a sneer. "And you're a buzzkill, doc."

Marcus rolled his eyes as he jumped up onto the railing. His eyes locked onto a cannonball flying towards the ship, and he took the cigarette he had been smoking out of his mouth and dropped it overboard. He then proceeded to tap his feet against the wooden railing, and as he bent down on one knee, he took a deep breath. "Nature Stance: Kangaroo." With a sudden burst, he pushed up and leapt into the air. He soared through the air towards the cannonball, bringing his legs up towards his body. He kept his feet at a right angle with his shins, and tilted his body so he was at an angle that he was faced towards the water, but away from the ship. As the cannonball zoomed towards him, he judged his timing. When it was only a few feet away, Marcus prepared himself. "Kangaroo Shoot Kick." He extended his legs outwards with great force, impacting the cannonball. He felt a tad bit of resistance, but his legs had more power behind them due to the cannonball losing power of distance. With a huff of breath, Marcus pushed his legs downwards, launching the ball into the sea.

His counter had been successful. Now came the part that was not so good. He was stuck mid-air. Above the ocean.

With a yelp of surprise, he plummeted into the ocean below him, hitting the water with a rather unimpressive splash. When he broke the surface again, his hair was plastered to his face in a messy cluster. He groaned as he pushed the hair out of his way. "Well, at least it's refreshing to be out of the heat." He laughed quickly at himself before swimming over to the side of the Lucky Nova. Once he reached the wooden hull, he looked up, realizing the climb up would be far more difficult than he thought.

However, he watched as a rope was thrown over for him, which he grabbed quickly. He felt himself hoisted out of the water, and quickly scaled the side of the ship until he reached the railing. Once he was there, he grabbed the wooden and brought himself over, giving himself a moment to send a dismissive hand to Elijah, who had dropped the rope and had made his way to make sure Marcus was okay. The doctor simply pulled off his shirt and wrung it out hastily, before putting it back on before anyone could look at his body. As he turned to thank the shipwright, he noticed the man had walked back to the other side of the deck, resuming his drinking as he watched the scenes unfold.

Marcus just spat in disgust and walked over to where Cait and the young boy were. He approached Cait, and with a swift move, pushed her aside a bit so he could get past her and kneel down beside the young one. "Are you okay? Any injuries? Bleeding? Hit your head?" Marcus moved his hands over the boy's body, looking for any blood or broken bones. When he didn't find anything, he leaned in to get a good look at the boy's eyes. When they didn't seem terribly out of focus, he leaned back to his previous position and held up his hand, extending three fingers. "Can you tell me how many fingers I'm holding up?"

His eyes then glanced over to the cut on Cait's arm. He growled, and stood up. He pointed at Cait sternly. "Stay right there." He made his way over to where he had been sitting for most of the day, and began routing through the lab coat that was there. He soon found a roll of dry bandages, and walked back over, tearing off a long strip. "So annoying..." He opened a small vial he had grabbed as well and poured a few drops onto the cloth. The liquid was a deep purple, and bubbled against the cloth. He quickly placed the bubbling area on Cait's wound, and began to wrap up the bandages tightly. "If you don't touch the wound, you'll be healed in a about an hour. But it will be itchy. Just leave it alone."

Sétanta Igramo'El

Seth was so caught up in Keya’s flying and landing that he didn’t notice Rainbow guy approaching him. He jumped in the air as he was tapped on his shoulder. He almost tackled the guy when he turned around. Luckily he saw the chocolate bar in time to stop his movement. “Whoa there! Never disturb an animal in his natural habitat. Perhaps a little warning next time? Though, I don’t think you speak that often, do you? Why do you offer me this delicious bar of chocolate? Is this another of your weird rituals? Is this how normal people thank each other? Or is this a declaration of war? Thanks either way! However, unless you want to wake The Imp, I suggest you hold onto that for a little longer. Let’s not give me a sugar rush unless we are in lethal danger, hmmm? Even I don’t …”

Battles were not exactly the best place to have ADHD. Seth had already forgotten about Zeon and his potential nuke as Cait brought a small boy aboard. He also totally ignored Sora’s death glance. He had absolutely no idea what that was all about. They definitely had something to talk about later. If only Sora would have bought a bigger cannon Seth would have shot himself, but no, he had to do with this old piece of shit. Once again he was jealous of Keya’s height. She got to fly a freakin’ cannon ball while Seth was stuck aboard with a very vicious boy. Oh right, always focus on the job at hand.

“See? That’s what I’m talking about: code names. This boy is a genius.” Seth said as he joined the group. “We should have those too. Not things like Toad though. Toads suck, unless used for poison purposes. I was thinking in the line of Supreme Commander for myself, Seth Igramo'el. Keya should be Ballista! Ooh! Cait, you could be Jaws! Zeon could be Unicorn, very manly! And … ehm … Sora could be … eh … Super-skilled-while-talking-to-groups-man, or SSWTTGM for short.” He was entirely caught up in the idea when he realized something. “Oops, now this boy already knows our code names. We cannot allow him to leave anymore. Told you code names were a bad idea.” He paused, one of his rare moments of silence. “Hi there, anybody but Toad. I'm Seth and I should probably shut up now."

Alex & Mac

"WHY CANT WE HIT THEM!?!??!  ARGH! ALEX SHOOT THE SHIP!!"  Mac shouted as she jumped up and down, like would when throwing a five year old tantrum.

"Um...Uh...I think maybe, possibly, we kinda should umm stop shooting."  Alex asked as he looked through his binoculars at the ship, one foot placed on a cannon ball.

"Huh?  Why!? They are the enemy!  If we stop firing we look weak!  Something we can't let the enemy even think that we are!"

"But, um...ter- I-I mean Toad...I think he got captured???"

"WHAT!?!??! GIVE ME THOSE!"

"Gah!  The strap is around my neck!  Leader! You are chocking me!!"

"Shut up!  I need to figure out what's going on!  ........TOAD! HOW DID THEY CATCH HIM!?!?"

"I d-don't kno-w...c..can't breathe.......L..leader."

"Hush Alex! I need to think! If they caught toad even though I ordered him to wait at our lookout station it must mean only one thing...."

"H...He left?  Abandoned his post?  Went for a stroll?"

"NO! THEY HAVE AN AGENT ON LAND! AND WE ARE NEXT!!!!"

"Wh-What? But"

"No buts!  I didn't think they would get someone on board so quickly... Those cannon shots were so pitiful...it must have been to distract us from an agent they were sneaking over board!  That is the only reason for a ship to have such pathetically, weak, and subpar cannons!"   Nodding her head while placing her fingers on her chin after she finally let go of the binoculars Mac looked at the white haired boy.  "We need to go to plan 12."

"12?  B-But what happened to 1-11????"

"Idiot! Don't you remember!? All of those require toad!  So we can only do 12-24 which requires you and I, expect for plans 15, 19. and 22!"

"Wh-When did we have all tho-"   Before he could finish his words Mac slapped a hand over his mouth and put a finger over her lips.

"Shhhhh you hear that???"

"???!!!"

With that the two heard Keya's calls making both of them freeze in their spots while their blood ran cold.

"Its their land agent! Oh gods, the voice sounds high pitched b-but if they are smart enough to use fake cannons they might be using a fake voice to lower our guard!"

"Y-You mean th-that person could be a brute? Savage?  Monster?"

"Uh huh! We need to move quick before it finds us and eats us!"

"E-E-E-E-EAT US!??!?!"

"Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Its going to hear you!"

"You aren't being quiet either!"

"You aren't helping!!"

"I-I DON'T WANT TO GET EATEN! DEVOURED! DIGESTED!!!!!

"STOP SCREAMING THEN!!! SHUT UP BEFORE THEY FIND US!!!"

Sora Z lachance &Teri

Sora  eyes darted over to Cait and Teri the moment they landed on the ship, he didn't say anything and rather just watched the scene in front of him closely.  The cannon fire at this time had seemed to come to a halt for one reason or another.  Possibly think to Keya, or maybe for some other third party reason.  Either way, from what he could gather the ship wasn't in danger currently and the sense to rush wasn't there any longer.  As he listened to the boy... Toad, he couldn't help but raise a brow at the child.  Before he could get a chance to say anything however, a couple of other members jumped onto the scene.  Marcus was ever so nicely checking the boy out who seemed to be one of the ones causing the trouble, while Seth...was him.

After a moment Sora rubbed his forehead and walked up to the small formed group and looked at everyone there.  "Thank you for that input Seth, but I think we will wait on the codenames."  He said with a simple sigh as he let out a small chuckle.  "Toad is that it? Can you explain to us why you and your buddies are shooting at my ship?"  His tone was kind, though he was giving off an small aura of agitation.  He really hated it when people shot at his ship, child or not.

At this Teri gulped as he watched everyone just do their thing, and couldn't help but flinch when the doctor suddenly started to examine him.  "I'm fine...just a few scraps I think, and um three."  He said a bit nervous suddenly as it dawned on him he was on a stranger ship, where a multitude of atrocious things could happen to him.  When another male came over and started talking about codenames Teri had to blink several times, and honestly struggled to keep up with what Seth was saying. Half the things didn't make sense, and the half that did was being said so fast he barely had time to think about it.  Once all was quiet Teri stuck his tongue out at Seth.  He may not have gotten everything but he did hear what he felt he needed to hear.  "Codenames are genius! And toads not a stupid codename!  Better than whatever your name is...probably."  He said as he crossed his arms and looked in another direction with his nose stuck in the air.   Though this little pose didn't remain long as his eyes fell on Sora, and after listening to him a bit the smaller boy gulped before backing up and hiding a bit behind Cait.  Not because he was scared or anything...she just...provided some shade, something he liked in this intense heat.

"I'm not shooting at you red hair! That were the others.  I came here to take over your ship for my friends to show them how awesome I am in battle...but that was before I learned you were pirates."  Teri said with confidence in his voice though half hiding behind Cait, it really didn't help sell how confident he was feeling right now.

"My hair isn't red, its maroon.   Usually people shoot at ships because they know they are the enemy, do you realize how stupid and unreasonable that was??"

"Hmph, We thought you were the enemy so we attacked!  All is fair in war!"

"You don't know what you are talking about kid."  Sora shook his head and brushed some of his hair out of his eyes.  "That's in the past, so I might be willing to forget it, if you tell me who this enemy is and why you thought we were them."  Sora said as Albi moved from his neck, crawling down his clothing she ran up to Teri and sniffed him a bit, making the boys eyes go a bit wide.

"You have an animal, a mink?  I haven't seen a real one before!"  A bright smile went on his face as he kneeled on the ground and started to pet the animal who happily accepted being petted by the young boy.

"Yes, that's Albi.  Can you focus?  This is the third time I'm asking why you shot at us."

Teri looked at Sora for a moment and then Cait and then the rest of the crew. After a moment he sat down and brought his knees to his chest while he kept petting Albi.  "I can't tell, its secret information..... I have to ask the leader if I can pass this on or not... You might be spies."

At this a light tick mark went on the back of Sora's head as he took a small breath. 'Not going to hit or threaten a kid, No matter how annoying said kid is being.'  Exhaling he waved his hand casually as he started to walk off.  "Fine, fine.  Don't tell us now.  We'll just ask your leader once we get you to land.  I swear, if the leader is a 9year old brat..."  With that he moved to the helm of the ship to make sure they were going on the right course.

"I'm not nine!  I'm 10 for your information!"  Teri said as he stuck out his tongue before placing his chin back on his knees as he continued to pet Albi.  "Though if I know my leader she's already coming to get me.  If you be nice I might tell her to go easy on you~"  He had a confident smile on his face, really more of a smug look though when he saw Sora just upped and ignored him he brought his legs a bit closer to himself and started to mumbled under his breath.  "Whatever be that way, don't come crying to me when you get your butts handed to you.... I won't let her hurt you though, she wouldn't hurt an animal anyway."  He said softly to Albi before looking up at Cait.  "I'll even ask her to go easy on you since you saved me."

Xaio Bamboo- Just Messing Around

After watching everything that happened Xiao couldn't help but laugh. It was a loud laugh. It seemed to him that Keya was fine. That's what his instincts told him, and he always trusted his instincts. But he shifted his attention back to the little kid on board. He was such a riot. Xiao walked towards the kid, smiling, displaying his sharp teeth. "Hey, young one, you must be one of those brave warriors of the sea that I heard so much about" said the panda, jokingly.  Xiao used Ghost Walk afterwards. One moment he was quite a few meters away from Teri, and in the next he was already just 2 meters away from the kid.

"Let me take a better look" Xiao said that while pretending to carefully analyze the boy and acted like he was in deep thought. He then turned to Sora, still acting all serious. "Captain, this young man and his group seem pretty dangerous. We should mobilize our forces and be prepared for battle" Xiao knew Sora would understand what game he was playing, and he also hoped his captain would play along, just for the laughs.

"Now then young one, I hope you're prepared" with that said, the panda performed Ghost Walk again. He disappeared from sight briefly, and reappeared behind Teri. The giant panda's shadow completely covered the kid. "This will be an epic battle between men!" said Xiao, who tried hard not to laugh at his own silliness. On the paw, he hoped he didn't exagerate and scare the kid too much. Xiao merely wanted to teach the kid a lesson, not traumatize him.

Syrin Insinu

Syrin rolled his eyes and rolled his neck as he stared blankly at everything that just transpired. They were being attacked by a bunch of ten year old children, of all the possible people, the crew had shot one of their own on a cannon ball to the island, and now the giant talking panda was trying to intimidate the child while teaching him a lesson. Honestly, Syrin just wanted to get to the island as fast as possible so he could go his own way, but by the looks of it, he would be getting harassed by these children during his stay on the island if he didn't nip this whole thing at the bud. So with a sigh he strolled up to Teri with the casualness of someone who had done what he was about to do a million times over, only sparing Xaio a sideways glance, then crouched down in front of Teri, dagger lazily tapping against Syrin's thigh.

"Ya called yourself Toad, huh? Code names and all... Yeah I can get it. I have a little code name of my own really, I'm called White Vans. You see, believe it or not, this here isn't much of a pirate crew as of now. Honestly, I'm not even part of the crew, just on... Loan... Till we reached your island. Still, while this may not be a pirate crew, I AM a pirate. With the bounty, and the 'code name' and everything. I'm sure you can see where this is going." Syrin gave Teri a cold, empty smile, as seen by how it clearly didn't reach his eyes, which shone with a vicious gleam. "I don't quite answer to dear old Cap'n here. In fact, nothing he can say could change anything I wanted to do if I really wanted to go through with it. So I'm gonna give ya a chance, yeah? You tell me why you and your little munchkin friends shot at us, all of your real names, and promise on your frail weak little heart that you won't do this again, and maybe then I'll think about sparing the lives of you and everyone you care about. Otherwise..." Syrin stops tapping the dagger on his thigh and begins slowly tracing it across Teri's face, carefully not leaving a single mark. "Well, I'm sure your friends will give a better answer if I show up with your all nice and cut up. So? What'll it be?"

Cait Merlin

Cait watched Marcus as he treated the self-inflicted scratch on her arm. She wasn't really worried about her arm, but smiled at the doctor anyway. She nodded after he told her not to touch the bandage and turned her head to focus on what she was more concerned about: Toad. She smiled at the boy after he mentioned that he'd ask his leader to go easy on her. Cait appreciated the gesture, but wasn't worried about what a group of kids could do to her. If Toad and his friends had given her a code name, she wanted it to be something like Big Sis, not Jaws. Other than housing shark teeth, she didn't think there was anything special about her jaw; it wasn't particular pointy or anything, it just looked average unless she flashes a shark tooth grin.

Cait looked down at Toad, who was now hiding behind her. He was a strange kid, but he was a kid nonetheless. It was fulfilling for her to know that he seemed like he felt safe around her. That made her only want to protect him even more. Cait watched Xiao as he messed with the kid. Her smile was still on her face as she stifled a chuckle. She could tell that the panda man was laying it on thick to mess with Toad; he didn't mean any real harm. Syrin on the other hand was a different story.

Cait took a step between Syrin and Toad. She followed that up by giving their temporary navigator a shark-like glare. "Try it and I'm gonna toss ya into the ocean like an unwanted old shoe caught on a fishing trip," she threatened with her hands on her hips. The Captain may object, but she meant what she said. As much as they needed a navigator, they could find someone else on the nearby island; besides, Syrin was going to leave the crew anyway. These justifications were a mere afterthought though; Cait's goal was to keep Toad safe.

Syrin Insinu

Syrin leisurely straightened himself up till he was standing and gave her a frigid glare. "Please, be my guest. Give me a reason to put you back at the bottom of the sea. And trust me when I tell you that will be the outcome if you take another step towards me." He shrugs carelessly and begins spinning his chain, though it seemed to be slowly picking up speed. "Though given your fish brains, I don't even know if you're capable of the logical thought of not messing with your betters. Not that it would stop you even if you could understand half of what you were doing. But, hey, I'm a reasonable guy. You step aside right now so I can get my answers, and I'll forget you ever said anything stupid. If you continue to do what's clearly not in your best interest... Well..." He looks past her and gives Teri a lazy smile that somehow conveyed how willing he was to harm. "Now see what you and your friends did kid? I might just have to hurt this poor little fishie here to get to ya, and we don't want that, now do we? Because if I, hypothetically, did tear my way through the walking sushi and I did reach you, well, I'd be mighty displeased about the blood I'd no doubt splatter on myself." At this point he began tapping his chin with his free hand in mock thought. "And if that happened, I'd, hypothetically of course, force the answers that I wanted out of you and if, once again this is all hypothetical, I didn't like those answers I would have to go and find your friends myself and well..." Syrin chuckles and holds up his left hand in a 'what can you do' motion. "Hypothetical situations can only be thought out so far, now can't they? So why don't you do us all a favor and tell me what I want and then none of that has to happen, yeah? I'm sure you don't want anyone to get hurt, but if I have to break a few bones, slit a few throats, well... Ya gotta do what ya gotta do."

Syrin put his free hand in his jacket pocket as his face easily transitioned into the blank stare that was common for him. The chain, which had gotten to the point of becoming a gray blur, suddenly lost it's momentum as Syrin snatched it out the air and held it loosely. "Really all you have to do is tell me what I want to know before I really lose my patience and we can all forget about you and your friends suicidal tendencies."

Xiao- Papa Bear Time

Xiao wasn't trying to scare the kid, but the same thing couldn't be said about Syrin. The panda knew that the guy wasn't really a pleasant person, but didn't think he'd seriously threaten a kid. And his instincts told him that he wasn't truly serious, which reinforced Xiao's belief that Syrin was bluffing. Still, he went too far, something which irritated Xiao very much. He became lot more angry when Syrin insulted Cait and continued to terrorize the kid. Xiao really liked kids, and he respected Cait. Disrespect towards her was disrespect towards him.

Initially the panda wanted to attack Syrin, but decided not to. He wasn't a brute. Sure Xiao was a panda, but he was also an individual. As much as he disliked Syrin, violence wasn't the answer in that situation. He needed to do something before everything blew out of proportions, and given both Cait and Syrin's personalities, it was only a matter of time.

"Insults and threats only have a meaning if you give them value, my friend. So don't" he spoke calmly, putting his paw on Cait's shoulder. He then got on his knees in front of Teri. "Young man" he spoke softly "It's all a matter of perspective. For instance..." he suddenly started to tickle Teri, then quickly grabbed and placed him atop of his shouders. "From ths height, that grumpy fellow doesn't seem so intimidating anymore, does he?" he asked as he looked at Syrin. "You are a brave warrior of the sea, are you not?" Xiao said that trying to encourage the boy.

Cait Merlin

Cait clenched her fists as Syrin let out his racist comments. Her angry expression intensified until her veins were showing in her still shark-like eyes. She really wanted to unleash a sonic scream on the overconfident bastard. Cait hesitated to put Syrin in his place when she felt Xiao's hand on her shoulder. The panda man was right. Cait let out an irritated growl as she walked over to her guitar case, leaving Toad safe with her panda friend.

Cait opened her guitar case and grabbed the bottle of cheap alcohol she was storing in it. She took a couple of swigs before putting the beer back. It wasn't quite as tasty as Fischer Island Brew, but it did manage to take some of her edge off. Cait then picked up her guitar and started to play a song to calm herself down.

"Yo-hohoho Yo-ho-ho-ho

Yo-hohoho Yo-ho-ho-ho

Yo-hohoho Yo-ho-ho-ho

Yo-hohoho Yo-ho-ho-ho

Gather up all of the crew

It’s time to ship out Bink’s brew

Sea-wind blows

To where? Who knows?

The waves will be our guide.

O’er across the ocean’s tide,

Rays of sunshine far and wide.

Birds they sing

Of cheerful things

In circles passing by.

Bid farewell to weaver’s town,

Say so long to port renowned,

Sing a song,

It won’t be long,

Before we’re casting off

Cross the gold and silver seas,

A salty spray puts us at ease,

Day and night,

To our delight,

The voyage never ends.

Gather up all of the crew,

It’s time to ship out Bink’s brew,

Pirates we,

Eternally,

Are challenging the sea.

With the waves to rest our heads,

Ship beneath us as our beds,

Hoisted high,

Upon the mast,

Our Jolly Roger flies.

Somewhere in the endless sky

Stormy winds are blowing wide,

Waves are dancing,

Evening comes,

It’s time to sound the drums.

But steady men, and never fear,

Tomorrow’s skies are always clear,

So pound your feet,

And clap your hands,

Till sunny days return."

Cait began to feel better after completing her song. She then realized that the Red Wave Pirates were a lot closer to shore than they had been earlier. "Alright everyone, listen up. I don't want it to be a secret that I'm looking for my ma. I'd really appreciate it if you all helped me find her. I know it's a long shot that she'd be on this island, but I'd rather be lookin' and not find her than miss her without keepin' an eye out. She's a tiger shark Fishwoman, looks like an older me with black hair, has a guitar, and probably wearin' a green dress; if not some kind of dress."

Cait put her guitar back in it's case and took another couple swigs of the cheap stuff. She shot a glare at Syrin, silently telling him to keep his racist mouth shut. She wasn't expecting him to help her out anyway.

@Mitchs98

Keya Fenris

Keya frowned as she didn't hear anyone at first, she knew they had to be around her somewhere! She had heard a scream, the island was decently sized but she wouldn't of been able to hear it if it was incredibly far off. She walked around searching a bit nonetheless, she wasn't going to hurt anyone pending a good explanation and them not trying to hurt her. She soon though heard Alex and Mac arguing back and forth, shouting about her eating them and all sorts of things. She couldn't help but giggle, just what kind of people did they think they were? The only one even half threatening enough to consider being a monster that ate people was Xiao, and that was only when he was angry. Though as far as Keya was concerned he wasn't really threatening at all, just a big old fluffy teddy.

Nevertheless their shouting was just loud enough for her to pinpoint where they were, Keya sneaking up on them carefully as they shouted and argued amongst each other. By the time Mac had shouted about her finding them Keya had crawled onto her shoulder. "Big bad monster totally already found you guys." She said with a teasing smile. "Soo....you kids were the ones shooting at our ship huh?" She asked. "Maybe I will eat ya if you were~" She teased, growling in what was more-so a cute manner than anything.

Zeon G. Zephyrfield

Zeon held the chocolate bar a little higher when the boy turned around to indicate it's presence. "Nice reflexes." He thought, as he admitted to all of the boy's questions and expressions. Though too be honest, all Zeon did understand, was the fact that he didn't quite want the chocolate bar.... and that he was a fellow sweet tooth. Other than that? Everything else went in through one ear and literally came out the next. Deep in thought once again as he opened the chocolate bar and began chomping it himself. Ahhhh!-the boy's name was Seth. Returning to the real world, Zeon smiled slightly at his memory of the name. Eyes settled on the unmanned cannon, as he turned to see where Seth went. Turns out something almost as interesting as the energetic pirate was being surrounded. .....It was a child.

Flooded with queries and inquests was he as he merely observed the group of pirates with the child. They were seemingly hospitable to the young boy, checking his wounds, talking with him and even playing with him for that matter. Was this truly the behaviors of petty thieves and murderers? Or was this just a cover for them.Trusting them was thought to be the last thing ever but the mere fact that he was able to sail on their ship in plain sight without any problems for 4 days spoke for itself. Zeon was lost once again in deep thought, ending with him sitting down on deck and laying back on the ships railing. Balling up the rapper and in tossing position, he instantly remembered the maid. "....Better keep this til we reach the island." Said to himself, putting the garbage into his bag. He'd have learned his lesson well.

Sounds of a guitar could be heard accompanied by a voice, ripping his attention away from staring at the sky. It was the fish woman, and her name was Cait. Zeon rose to his feet as the song ended and acknowledged every word Cait said. He gawked at her for a bit as the description she gave of her mother came together in his head as a slightly older Cait with black hair and a dress. Assisting pirates wasn't on the to-do list but, helping a nice fish woman find her mother wouldn't hurt. Making a promise to himself, Zeon decided to keep her posted if he ever saw her, although that made him question his own ambitions and his next move. Noticing how close the ship was to land, he balanced on the ships railing and gazed on at the shores. It was time to meet and greet with the natives, and see if this isle really earned its name.

Norman "Barely Paying Attention" Newman

Norman had kept up his attempts to redirect the canon balls at whoever was firing them until they stopped. He was actually a bit disappointed when they did, if he was being quite honest. He had managed to direct them nearly TWO FEET closer than before! By his calculation he would only need a hundred or so more tries before he hit the people firing. He hid his katana away again for now while he pondered on what made them stop firing. However he didn't have to wonder for very long, as Cait came over the side of the boat with a young child. Normans' immediate assumptions were she took him hostage and the canonneers stopped firing because of him.

Though she quickly revealed it was a bunch of children who had been firing on them. Norman giggled to himself as he thought back to a few years to when he was like that kid. Back on his home island children often tried messing with incoming boats their parents were on. Not that it ever succeeded of course, but it was a common and fun tradition. He smiled a bit to himself, a slightly wistful look in his eyes were anyone to pay him attention. As he turned his ever shifting attention back to the group he found them acting in various ways to the kid. Cait being all big sistery, Pandaguy being "scary" then his normal fluffy self, and Mr. Grump being him... unfortunately. Whatever that guy ate Norman needed to make sure he didn't serve it to the rest of the crew, jeez.

Norman picked his nails with a senbon while he waited for things to resolve themselves. Which ended up amounting to Pandaman taking the kid up on his shoulders, Mr. Grump being lame as usual, and Cait blowing off some steam by playing a song. Norman rocked back and forth enjoyably to the music as she played. However his jokey demeanor completely disappeared for a moment as Cait told everyone of her missing mother. Normans' eyes showed a note of seriousness and solid determination no one here had seen quite yet. Norman went to sit by Cait's side while everyone else sorted out what to do with the kid or something.

"Heya Cait. When we land I'd like to talk to you more personally about your mom. Alright?"

Alex & Mac

When the foreign voice hit the young girls ear she blinked several times over and looked at Alex who shook his head telling her he wasn't the one that said anything.  At the same time they gulped and their eyes moved over to the source of the voice when they saw Keya they said nothing for a moment and then at the same time.... "KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"  Their screams filled the air and honestly seemed to shake the leaves.  Had their been birds in the forest it most certainly would have scared them off the branches they may have been resting on...

"IMP!!!!"

"AHHHHHHH SHE'S GOING TO EAT YOUR FACE!"

"SHUT UP! DON'T EAT MY FACE EAT HIS!!"

"WHAT!?!? YOU'RE THE LEADER!  ONE IN CHARGE! HEAD HANCHO! I DIDN'T DO IT!"

"I SAID SHUT UP!"

"W-W-W-WE DIDN'T KNOW IMPS WHERE ON THE SHIP! I-I'm s-s-sorry! I-I apologize, please forgive us!  I-I d-d-don't want my ey-eyes to b-be eaten I-I like my eyes."  The white haired boy said as he started to tear up a bit.

"Huh!?  Don't apologize to the enemy!  Or cry!"  Mac said as she looked at Alex for a moment before looking back at Keya, standing up she gulped nervously before taking a brave stance.  "I-i'm not apologizing for anything!  You come h-here and p-plan to hurt m-my village a-and friends! So of course we a-attacked you!  N-N-N-Now we ha-have to take you prisoner!"?   She exclaimed sounding very nervous about the mere idea of kidnapping.

"W-What?! We are keeping a prisoner?  I-I thought you said we never take prisoner..."

"Well I can't kill an imp!  Th-Thats bad luck you know!"

"It is?  Where did you read that?"  Alex asked now wiping his eyes from the small tears that had appeared.

"I didn't read it my gran told me."  Mac stated her voice filled with indication.

"Really? I didn't know that......so we have to keep her as a prisoner won't it be bad luck to keep her?"

"Naaah, two different things."  Mac said as she casually wave her hand in a dismissive fashion.

"But um.....what do we do with her after making her our prisoner?"

"Uhhhhhh um...uh.... Thats' a good question um...uh................ I know! We will come to a decision once Toad returns to us."

"Didn't Toad get captured by the bad guys???"

"Right.... THAT'S IT! I HEARD ABOUT SOMETHING WE CAN DO!  Hostage exchange!  We keep their land agent till they give us toad back and then we give them their imp back!"

"Oh! That makes so much sense!"

With that Mac looked at Keya and grinned, very proud of her idea.  "Heard that!? You are our hostage now, so don't even think about running...or else!"

"Or else what???"

"Stuff, hush Alex I'm trying to be intimidating here!"

"Oh....okay."

@Mitchs98

Sora Z lachance &Teri

Teri had been faced with several new experiences in such a short amount of time, first was worry he may have started a war between his friends and these pirates.  Then came utter terror as he was threatened by some guy who without a doubt was more likely than not a serial killer. Then there was relief as Cait came and protected him from the serial killer.  Then there was anger as the serial killer insulted Cait, he didn't really get all the insults but he knew that they were anything but nice even if they went above his head.  After all of that he was surprised before he was suddenly tickled making him burst out laughing.......tickling was one of his weakness sadly.  Unlike Mac who never laughed when tickled Teri would just out right lose it when someone attempted it and that was happening right now, though he didn't mind being tickled in all honesty.  When that stopped and he was placed on the Panda's shoulder he couldn't help but laugh a little as he seemed to be given the best seat on the boat. That and the fact he was getting a ride from a panda!  How awesome is that?! 'So going to brag about this to Leader!' He thought as he snickered to himself a little bit.  Looking at the panda when he spoke he couldn't help but grin.  "Nope the serial killer doesn't look that scary at all now...kinda short really."  He said with a light hum as he rocked side to side.  When it was mentioned he was a brave warrior of the sea Teri's face got a bit red before he scratched the back of his head feeling a bit flustered from someone actually acknowledging this fact.  After a moment he perked up and grinned broadly once more.  "That's right!  I'm the bravest of my group!  People say they fear the seas and the unknown! But I laugh in the face of danger!"  He said with a bright grin (completely ignoring the heart attack he almost had when Syrin first threatened him....never had a knife been so close to his face, and honestly he hoped it never got that close again).

His eyes then went away from Syrin and Xiao as he watched Cait begin to play.  "Woah....she sounds so amazing."  He said obviously impressed.  In his village there was a bard...but no where near as good as Cait was right now........... Then again that bard was a blubbering drunk who couldn't tell his left hand from his right on his brightest days.  As the song played out he swung his legs in tune with it and closed his eyes listening to lyrics.  It was the first time hearing that particular song, and he had to admit he liked it.  Once the song was done he clapped for Cait before blinking a few times as she spoke about her mother.  "Oh...you don't know where your mom is?"  He asked softly looking down at her a bit worried before he smiled. "I will help you then!  I know ever inch of my village so I can give you a tour and everything and show you where new comers go...but um...I don't think I've seen anyone like you at the island......... O-Of course I don't watch people come all the time so she may have snuck in when I wasn't on guard duty!"  His tone was bright as he didn't want to discourage Cait in the least when it came to the possibility of finding her mom.

Sora had been at the helm of the ship guiding it to the port since Syrin had gone to threaten the kid rather than do as he asked.  He watched the entire thing unfold in silence.  He didn't stop anyone from doing anything as he wanted to see what the people of the current, temporary crew were like.  Who were the problem solvers and starters, who would be the ones that remained neutral but paid attention or who wouldn't pay attention at all.  It was interesting to say the least.  He didn't like the racist words that Syrin used not in the least, he had felt a tinge of worry that a fight might break out then and there.  But rather than that, Xiao stepped in, not only giving Syrin a decent worry but he also stopped the kid from having a potential heart attack. A light smile graced Sora's lips at this.  Looking out at the rest of the crew he saw a good portion of them stayed out of it letting their attention be filled with something else or they simple watched but didn't intervene for one reason or another.  Much to Sora's relief, the situation didn't escalate to anything he needed to worry about.

When the song started to play he relaxed his shoulders and leaned on the steering wheel as he listened to the song for a while before joining in a bit near the end.  He wasn't very loud as he more or less sung to himself though he remained in time with Cait as not to mess up the song.

"Stormy winds are blowing wide,

Waves are dancing,

Evening comes,

It’s time to sound the drums.

But steady men, and never fear,

Tomorrow’s skies are always clear,

So pound your feet,

And clap your hands,

Till sunny days return."

Sadly the last part was the only thing he remembered with clarity and the only bit he could sing along with so that's what he did.  Once the song was over he stayed in his relaxed position as he looked over at Cait.  He listened to her and gave her a nod.  "Got it, we will be there for a bit so you'll have plenty of time to look around.  I think there is only one village on that island.  Not much room to hide a fishman there."  He said calmly as he kept steering the ship as they swiftly approached the port.    Rolling his neck a bit he looked out at the crew and stood up a bit straighter.  "Okay listen up! We need to get supplies from this place, enough to last a good while for a decent sized crew!  Remember this is where those who don't have any interest in being a pirate or going to the grandline can get off!  After we stock up we are heading there asap!  While we are at the island those that are not guarding the ship or shopping for supplies, I want you to help Cait take a look around for her mother!  And Seth!"  Sora shouted now looking at the individual he called out.  "You need to go into the forest where you shot Keya and find her."  He still couldn't believe the other shot Keya out of the damn cannon...the one that looks like it is just one cannonball away from blowing up in everyone's faces.  "If you can't find her by night then come back to the ship, but until then you need to spend our time searching for her also... Do not, I cant' get any clearer with this.  Do not destroy anything.  I have enough money to pay for supplies but not enough to deal with any damages."  He then looked at everyone.  "That goes for everyone! No breaking things that aren't yours! Unless you are going to pay for them!"

After saying all of this he looked up at the crows nest and then suddenly remembered something.  'Still need to get a pirate flag...can't really be a true pirate without some sort of Jolly Roger. I meant to get one at the other island but it completely slipped my mind since the damned marines showed up.'

Keya Fenris

Keya squeaked and jumped off of Mac's shouldee the second both of them screamed, covering her ears and whining lightly. Big screams + little dwarf right next to mouth meant pain and slight disorientation. She collected herself around the time they started shouting about her being an imp and her wanting to eat their faces and eyes. She grinned widely, clearly very amused by this. They were just a bunch of kids so it was understandable. She'd normally correct people she was a Dwarf and not an Imp...but oh well. This was WAY to good to pass up! She did however laugh during the entire conversation of them taking her prisoner; not to mention the fact they instantly assumed they were attackers.

Honestly it was kind of sweet, them defending their home town and all like that. Sweet, but stupid for randomly shooting at ships. She eventually composed herself after they threatened her with 'stuff' for running. "Ooh boy...you kids are something else." She told them, wiping her eyes of tears and still chuckling lightly. "A few things wrong with that. One, we weren't here to attack you guys....sort of forgot why...oh right for supplies!" She said. "Two; Unless you have a steel cage you won't be holding me hostage forcefully.." She continued. "Three; If I wanted to run I'd be gone by now." She said, demonstrating by basically being a pink blur as she ran to stand at Alex's feet.

"And third....sure I'll be your hostage, why the hell not! Seems interesting!" She added with a cheerfull smile. Keya was practically dying of boredom all day, of course she'd accept this. If things turned south she could just bust free after all.

Seth was still humming  to Cait's song. It was out of tune and the rhythm had led it's own life within Seths head, but what the heck? Seth loved semi-happy endings.

Shame about Cait's mum though. And a shame that he did not get to see her fight with look-I-am-so-cool-with-these-shoes guy. Seth would bet all his money on Cait,

if only for moral support. There was no need for that because his hero had already dealt with the situation and had gotten them in sort of a sing along.

He stopped humming as he heard his name. He turned towards Sora. "Any reason in particular that you had to call me out? Is there something you need to tell us?" Seth said. He walked over to Sora daringly. And then he hugged him. "Hugs release tension, you know that? I guess I do have responsibilities to go look for Keya. She probably out there, all alone, with some scary kids, and..." He faked a sob. "Oh, I can't bear the thought. I better go rescue her right now." He grabbed some rope that was lying around and climbed the railing of the boat. "Until we meet again. Oh, and about that promise of no destruction and such ... I'll try, but you know who I am, don't you?" He winked, blew a kiss to no one in particular and fell backwards into the water. He hoped that was enough drama to make them stop treating shark woman as a pitiful damsel in distress.

Splash! Speaking of damsels in distress, Seth had to save a friend. The cold water felt great as a change for the warm weather. He started swimming to shore. You might wonder why he would swim in the first place? Well, just because. Although, that was not entirely true. Seth still remembered where he saw Keya land and the ship would probably dock somewhere else. He was not as stupid as some people thought he was. It didn't take long before he felt sand underneath his bare feet. He walked the last few meters to the beach and tried to shake the water of like a dog. It was not difficult to find the place where Keya had landed. as the cannon ball was still there. No signs of Keya though. He looked up. So far, he could only see trees. He ran towards the edge of the forest and unclipped his eye patch.

Silently he looked for moving creatures between the trees. First he saw a bird. Then his eyes fell upon a birds nest, probably that of the bird he saw before. Next he saw two children and a dwarf lady. A snake was approaching the birds nest to snatch some eggs. Something with a captured dwarf lady. Seth wanted to protect the nest from the snake. He took his blowpipe and put it to his mouth. Now all he had to do was concentrate. He inhaled deeply. KEYA AND THE CHILDREN! pffft! The shot missed the snake by a few centimeters. Did you have to shout like that? It did work though, the snake crawled away. Wait, was that Keya over there? Why didn't you tell me, brain?  He ran over there and hid behind a tree. Just in time to hear the kids debate on whether to take Keya hostage. Seth inhaled hard, almost audible enough. He had heard enough he had to get Keya out of there. What to do?

His head was running over a lot of ideas. First he had to take time to analyze the situation. They would probably try to bring Keya to a secure place. As far as Seth knew there was only a forest and a village on the island. The forest was not that safe, so they would probably go to the village. What would they do once they were there? They would hide Keya somewhere Seth wouldn't find her. She was small, so they could hide her almost anywhere. He would have to intercept them before they reached the village. Where was this village? Seth quickly climbed the tree he was hiding behind. To the west there was some smoke. It was so close, there would be no time to intercept them before they would arrive. Then he remembered he was still looking through his magnifying glass. He did have time for some crafty plan. He couldn't shoot children with nerve toxins, right? Moreover, he did not take any poison vials with him, he only got this lame-ass rope. Rope! That was exactly what he needed! It was time for his (in)famous Scarlet Web.

Seth jumped to the tree next to him. And to the next. And to the next, constantly checking whether he was still going towards the smoke. After a few minutes he found what he was looking for: a big open field with a tree in the middle. He got down walked towards the tree and started knotting. He smiled at the prospect of three surprised faces dangling upside down. He had forgotten how much fun it was to lay boobytraps in the forest. This was going to be great. As his hands swiftly ran over the rope to create three loops for feet, his thoughts started drifting off. What would the crew be doing right now.

Cait Merlin

Cait looked very surprised after hearing some of her crewmates quickly volunteering to help her locate her mother. Even the Captain had turned the search into an order. A warm smile appeared on her face. She wasn't expecting this kind of reaction, at best she thought her mom hunt would be ignored. As a hybrid Fishwoman she typically heard comments like the ones Syrin spewed earlier from strangers. Granted as part of Sora's crew, she'd been travailing with them for a couple days, but she still didn't know them very well. Norman's serious look was new to her, but she was happy to know that her crewmate was taking her mom search seriously.

"Alright," she replied to the ninja cook. The fishwoman then turned her attention to her Captain and gave him a musician's bow. "Thank you, Captain. Words can't express how much I appreciate this." Cait then straightened up and walked back over to Toad and Xiao. "I have a general idea where she is," she replied to Toad. "Most likely she's on Fishman Island, but she's a good ma, so she might have decided to head back to my home on Fischer Island. I just don't want to miss her in case she did." Cait started to ruffle Toad's hair in a sisterly manner. "I'll just have to take you up on that tour offer."

Cait stopped messing with Toad's hair and looked over the side of the Lucky Nova. She watched as Seth swam to shore and was a little tempted to swim ashore herself to get a head start on looking for her mom. She ultimately decided against this seeing as Norman, and possibly other crewmates, wanted to talk to her about her ma. The Red Wave Pirates would soon dock the Lucky Nova anyway.

Emilie De Cortagne

Emilie emerged blinking from below deck, pausing to adjust her grip on the stack of clean, neatly folded old blankets she was carrying. She had resumed her normal duties as soon as it was clear the danger to the ship had passed, if indeed there had ever been any danger. It wasn't as though children couldn't be dangerous, Emilie herself had been trained from a young age and it wasn't unheard of for children to be used as assassins on her home island, relying on youthful innocence to lower their target's guard. It was difficult but not impossible to mould a child into something truly dangerous but if such children were actually fairly easy to tell from normal children if you remained alert, the intense training needed to overcome the limitations of a smaller, weaker body would always tell.

Toad, or whatever his real name was, was about as dangerous as the rather sorry looking canoe he arrived in, less so even since the canoe looked like it might spring a leak at any second and endanger its passengers if nobody else. Emily marched over to the child and Cait, unceremoniously dumping a blanket over the child.

"You're getting sea water all over the deck," she said, her tone leaving no room for argument as she swivelled to lock eyes with Cait who was also still dripping slightly. Some people might call asking a half fishwoman who spent just as much time in the ocean as on board the ship to towel off futile but futility was an empty word to Emilie. You don't clean something with the expectation that it will stay clean, you clean it knowing that you will clean it tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that. Life makes things dirty and servants make them clean again, that's just the way things are or so Emilie believed.

That didn't mean she appreciated people making more work for her than was necessary though, which was why when she heard a loud splash and peered over the side of the ship to witness Seth merrily swimming towards the island she let out a small, weary sigh.

"Why... The ships is going to dock anyway so why would he... Does he do this one purpose?" Emilie muttered to herself, her brow creasing gently, displaying a rare extreme of emotion for Emilie. Then all at once the irritation faded as her frame seemed to lose its tension. There was no why, this was just the way things were."

Sora Z lachance &Teri

Sora shook his head as he watched Seth jump overboard.  "He could have waited till we docked."  He said as he watched the other swim away for a time.  "......................He better not burn down that damn jungle."  Scratching his head while wondering is he should have sent someone else to go retrieve their tiny dwarf friend he simply shrugged after thinking about it.  "Guess I will have to wait and see what's going to happen. "   He continued to steer the ship to port that they were fast approaching.  When the village and their dock were finally in sight he saw that the biggest boat the island had visible was simply a small fishing boat that wasn't really meant for strong seas.   "Not much of a trading village huh?"

At this Teri looked over at Sora and shook his head while holding onto the blanket he was just given by a woman he just had only now noticed. "Not really, we get by on farming and a bit of fishing and hunting.  My mom says they don't have big ships because they don't want to get lost at sea.  So they let others come to them to trade, people don't come around here often though... Not good people anyway."  He then looked at Emilie and smiled at her even though her attention wasn't on him anymore.  "Thank you for the blanket, my leader really hates it when I get sick."  He wrapped the blanket tightly around his body making sure to dry himself off well.  The last thing he needed was to get sick after just meeting such an interesting group of people.

Sora looked at Teri and nodded as he steered the ship for a bit carefully guiding it to port.   After a few moments had passed he looked at the others.  "Raise the sails and set down the anchor.  We are at port."  A grin was on his face as he moved away from the steering wheel at this point letting the others do the work he had asked to be done.  "Anyway!  Finally arrived at the port, we'll be here for a while by the looks of things."  He said giving a small glance to Syrin he didn't say anything to the man as he looked back at the others.  "I'm going to get supplies. So I need a few or one to stay on the ship.  I know this place is small but better safe than sorry."  He then looked over at Cait, Xaio and Teri.  "You said you are going to give them a tour right?"

"Yerp, as a brave warrior of both land and sea I'm more than capable of giving you a tour of the island.  Maybe the leader is at home and she can explain while she fired at your ship."

Sora raised a brow at this.  "Okay...well you do that.  Don't attack them again other wise we will have a problem with one another okay?"

Teri just grinned as he remained on top of the Panda's shoulders.  "Don't worry, you guys are good in my book so i'll make sure the leader doesn't attack any of you...though I can't say the same for scary chain guy...."

"Right! Well you guys do whatever I've already laid down guidelines so no need to repeat myself a million times over."   With that Sora moved away from the wheel and headed to the captain quarters to get the money he would need for his shopping trip.

Teri looked at Cait and Xaio and grinned brightly.  "I got to show you so many things!  I know all the best spots for new people to go to!  I can even show you the best spot to catch crickets later if you want!  The village is great you might really enjoy it!"

Village Description

 • The builds are pretty spread out giving plenty of room to walk around
 • Only village on the entire island but is rather large and spacious with at leas 60 people living there
 • Most houses are made of wood crafted together well, they look worn down but are very sturdy
 • Several stalls are open selling vegetables and already cooked meals...seems like brussel sprouts are popular here
 • There are no meat stalls around no one is selling meat of any kind
 • On the far east side of the village is farm lands with crops ready to be harvested certainly are a lot of brussel sprouts
 • Only two buildings are made of stone.  What is basically a city hall where the mayor lives and another home where several children are around (an orphanage)
 • The village is quiet and peaceful, no one has any pets of any kind
 • Villagers are kind and are going about their day working and such no one is hostile, yet many are surprised to see the Lucky Nova come into the dock

Alex & Mac

Mac and Alex watched Keya both honestly in amazement of the tiny girl, she was something they had only seen in story books so seeing a real imp (even one that was their hostage) just made them all giddy inside.  This was more evident on Alex than on Mac. As the young boy's eyes dazzled in amazement as the 'imp' became a blur when she raced over to him.  "So cool!"  He exclaimed clapping his hands a few times thrilled by the spectacle.

Mac on the other hand smirked as she crossed her arms.  "Hehe, I think those are just excuses~You know you can't escape us but its fine we won't hurt you since you look and seem awesome enough."  After saying this however she looked at the small thing with curiosity.  "Though....what do you mean you aren't the attackers???  You got a huge ship and everything....hmm I think we may need to interrogate you just to make sure."  the young girl said as she squatted down and narrowed her eyes to get a better look at the 'imp' while attempting to be as intimidating as possible....she is still practicing.

Before Mac could say anything else however there was a loud grumble in the air and Mac let out a sigh.  "Alex.....tell me that wasn't you."

The young albino poked his fingers together and had a small fluster on his face.  "M-Maybe..."

"I thought I told you to eat before we came on our scouting mission today...."

"Um you see, what had occurred, happened, transpired was that um...uh...I...forgot....."

"ALEX!"

A small yelp left Alex as he jumped back from the sudden shout while Mac stood up.  She extended a hand and looked at Alex sternly. "You need three proper meals a day!  No matter what! When your leader orders you to eat you need to eat! We can't have you starve in the middle of a mission! It could give away our position!"

"I-I'm sorry, it was an accident, a mistake I didn't mean it!"

"Uh huh..."  Letting out an exasperated sigh she looked at Keya.  "We are taking you to hour HQ hostage! Don't do any funny business or else."  She said before turning around and moving away.

"Or else what???"

"Alex!  We have been over this!"

"Ooooh right you don't know what the or else is."

"I do!  But it sounds a lot more mysterious and cool if I don't tell her what the or else is! Now come on lets get something to eat and see if we can do a hostage trade for Toad."

"Okay Leader."  Alex then looked down at Keya and blinked a few times.  "Um...I don't have a cage or anything. C-Could you just ride my shoulder or follow us so we know you don't try and run away?"  He asked while Mac climbed down the tree heading right for the village and unknowingly right for a trap that hadn't been made by the local hunter or by them.

Cait Merlin and Norman Newman

"Sounds fun," Cait said to Toad, flashing the boy a smile. He seemed excited to show the crew around the island. "You two go on ahead, I'll catch up in a couple of minutes," she said to Toad and Xiao. The fishwoman hybrid walked back over to Norman and sat down on the railing of the Lucky Nova. "What do you want to know, Norman?" she asked with a serious look on her face.

Norman rolled back and forth on the balls of his feet as he looked out at the island. The kid said fishing and hunting was okay here so he eyed the more forested parts of the island curiously. He wondered what kind of unique, tasty creatures could be out there. Just ready for eating. He turned to Cait after she asked her question. Tilting his head  toward the forest he asked, "Wanna help me hunt while we talk? I wanna stock up on really fresh meat."

"Alright, I'll help for a little while," Cait replied. There were other things she wanted to do on the island, such as take Toad's tour and look for her mom. Cait spun around on the railing and jumped onto the beach with her guitar case of her back. She waited for Norman to get onto the shore.

Norman beamed with excitement. If he had a visible mouth it'd be stretched ear to ear in a big ol smile. "Great, lemme just grab some stuff." Norman leaned down under the railing of the side of the boat, pulling away a panel from what would be the inside "wall" of the boat. At least that's what Norman considered it.

Setting aside the panel, a small collection of senbon, kunai, and tiny vials with colorful looking substances were stored inside. Norman stored the lil collection in various folds of his clothing. Then he replaced the panel. "Bye Captain, we're gonna go hunt in the forest!" Following that Norman jumped over the side of the boat, landing neat Cait. "Alrighty, after you!"

Cait started to walk toward the forest with Norman. She wasn't sure what kind of animals they'd find, but finding food was the last thing on her mind right now. She glanced over at her cheery companion. She had been waiting for him to bring up questions about her mom; maybe he was now preoccupied with hunting. "So...you want to know about my ma?" she asked.

Norman hummed a tune to himself as they approached the forest. Cait asked him if he had questions about her Mom. His Humming stopped at he thought it over in silence for a moment. "Yeah, actually. Anything you can remember about her could help me help ya find her, y'know? Any memories of what she was like, or how she sounded, or how she acted." His tone still sounded light hearted per usual, but there was a note of something else in it as well.

"She likes music and taught me how to play guitar; I wouldn't be surprised if she was carrying one around." Cait began to reply. "My ma is a very nice and homely woman despite being treated like a monster. Da must have seen that when they first met...She has the same kind of wrist fins I do, but the only time I've ever seen her use them was when she was cooking." Cait looked at the dagger-like fins on her wrist after she mentioned them and was silent for a couple of seconds.

Cait reached for the locket around her neck and opened it to show Norman and old family photo. Her parents were together, but Cait was only a young girl then. "Spottin' her should be easy. Voice wise she sounds like an average woman. Ma's voice is a bit on the lower side in the female voice spectrum and she doesn't have a Fischer Island accent like my da and I. I guess you'd call it a Fishman Island accent...whatever that sounds like..."

Norman pursed his lips, or at least tried to, while he listened to Cait. He imagined simply an older version of Cait initially, but he never really thought on the fact she was only half fishman. Which meant one parent was full fishman and the other human. He eyed the picture and tried to mentally age her up along with Cait. "That's gotta be pretty tough to deal with, not seeing her. How long ago did she go missing?"

Cait turned the locket so that the picture was facing her and stared at it with a sad expression on her face. "I was ten years old when my ma fled the island prejudice. Ten years later and here I am," she sighed. "Sometimes I wonder why I didn't set out sooner. I don't have to worry about drowning and with my fishman side it would have been easier to defend myself than a typical thirteen-to-fifteen-year-old lass." The sad look on her face softened as she looked at Norman. "The only downside would be I probably wouldn't have met you and the crew," she added with a sisterly smile.

Norman sighed. Ten years was a long time. He was only six that long ago, and his mom was still alive and with him until more recently. Norman let his fingers run across a tree trunk as they began entering a more thickly wooded area. "I'm sorry to hear that. My mom.... my mom was with me until a couple years ago. Slavers killed her. She died trying to stop them from taking me. So I can at least understand the feeling of not having her around to some degree." His normally playful voice came out wistful. "I promise I'll help you find her, Cait!"

Cait suddenly stopped walking. She was stunned that Norman had revealed something she felt would be typically kept private. She moved her right hand over her mouth in surprise, causing the locket to dangle in front of her chest. "I'm...sorry to hear that, Norman," she said softly, tears welling up in her eyes, a mixture of sad and happy. "Thank you," she added with a quivering smile as she placed her left hand on his shoulder.

Norman nodded shallowly. "You're welcome. But uh...." Norman dropped off into silence for a moment or two. "... uh, maybe keep that information between us. I'm not actually totally sure why i shared that." He tilted his head to the side with a quizzical expression. "Weird." As he averted his eyes from Cait he looked around the forest, noting something was a little off.

"Of course," Cait replied. She removed her hand from Norman's shoulder and used her left arm to wipe her tears. She then put her locket back around her neck and looked at Norman. "What kind of meat do you think is in this forest?" she asked, returning to lighter subject matters. So far she hadn't seen any wildlife, then again she was too focused on thinking about her mother to really notice.

"Thanks. And uh... idunno. But... it looks like there isn't anything around right now. There isn't any sound of wildlife as far as i can tell." He tilted his head as he attempted to listen harder. There was some sort of distant noise he didn't quite recognize, but he assumed it was from the village. "I think a predator might have been through here recently, that might be what made things quiet like this. But what kind of predator i wonder?"

Syrin Insinu

With a half sigh - half groan, Syrin straightened out completely and walked towards the Captain's Quarters after Sora. Leaning on the door frame when he arrived, Syrin took a moment to compose his thoughts, then spoke up.  "Well Cap'n, this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I wish you luck in your journey, and I do hope you happen to accomplish that dream of yours." As he spoke, Syrin had rolled up his right sleeve, and was absently winding the chain around his arm, showing a glimpse of his tattoo before it was wrapped in chains. "If ya can't find a navigator on this island, I suggest you head..." He stops and ponders for a moment. "I do believe the place I'm thinking about is northwest of here if you just keep going straight. I'm pretty sure that's one of the places that I dropped by when I was lookin' for work a year or two ago. Unless somethin' major happened around there, you should be able to find at least a temporary replacement." Having wound the chain completely once more, he slid his dagger in it's usual spot between the chains and rolled down his sleeve once more.

Pushing off the frame, he made sure his hood was in place and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "While you might be tempted to wait around for a bit longer than you need to in hopes of convincing me to join ya, I'd kindly request that you don't do that. I'll manage my way off the island one way or another, so you just keep doin' your Pirate-King-To-Be thing." Turning around he called over his shoulder in an extremely uncharacteristically soft tone. "One last piece of advice Cap'n. If ya don't want your crew to end up like your family, do somethin' 'bout that damn thing. God only knows what could or would happen if some unsavory types ever found out 'bout it." His piece said, Syrin strode back across the deck and promptly off the ship, ignoring the others that had happened to stay around for the moment and began the trek towards town, mind filled with plans on how to get off the island sooner rather than later.

"I wonder if they have a Den Den Mushi here... I suppose a carrier bird could work too... I'm gonna be stuck here for a while aren't I..."

Teri & Xiao

Collaboration with @Azure Sky

Teri looked up at Cait curiously when she said he and the panda man could go on without her.  Shrugging at this he gazed up at Xaio a broad grin plastered on his face.  "That's fine, you ready to go? Where should I show you first?  We have farmlands, and a lot of other cool places....But....  I can't take you out of the village. Okay well I can show you a bit of the forest but not the jungle part.  Even if you try and bribe me I won't/cant do it!"

Xiao smiled at the young man. "How about we go and meet your friends first? They must be worried about you. Afterwards, wherever in the village is fine. No matter what it is that you show me, I am sure I can appreciate its beauty" he said, as he lifted Teri yet again and placed him atop of his shoulders.

"The leader might not be back yet... She's kinda like a slug with how slow she is somtimes."  Teri siad with an exerprated sigh. "She is the leader though...hmmm I can take you to our home, she'll go there sooner or later so if you really want to see her you'll have to wait there for a bit.  She gets hungry easy so does Al.  Actually....they may already be there."

"Oh would you look at that, getting hungry easily. We already have something in common!" Xiao was acting silly. He jumped off the ship and made a pretty loud noise as he landed. "Maybe we'll find one of my crew mates there as well. She was sent flying with a cannon ball earlier. Yes, she is that small. As you probably saw, another one of my mates went to find her. And he'd better find her" his voice dropped on the last part, and his expression became very frightening. Not that Teri could actually see it from his position. It didn't take long for Xiao to revert to his usual self. "So in which direction must I go?" he asked.

"I didn't see whoever you are talking about....but she was flying on a cannon ball???  How small is she?! That just sounds cool...like a elf or something."  Teri's tone was cheery as could be though several villagers were looking at the two with odd looks on them.  Though its not their fault after all its not everyday they see a panda carrying a kid.  Looking up he hummed a bit before pointing right ahead of them.  "Just go straight ahead, my place is the house made of stone.  Not the biggest one the second biggest one...okay well the only other stone house.  It has a nice garden in the front with a lot of pink roses so you should be able to see it from a mile away."

"She's small enough for me to hold in my paw. Nonetheless she is very strong. Really fascinating species, those gnomes" he said as he walked towards the place where Teri pointed. As soon as he was close enough to it, Xiao had an idea. "Hey, young one, you should hold on tight. Spectre Bullet" Xiao performed a slightly different and slower Spectre Bullet than usual. Teri would doubtfully feel a little dizzy because of the initial phase where Xiao'd give the impression of going in multiple directions at once, before disappearing and marching forward at incredible speed, in a straight line. Afterwards he used the momentum to perform a huge jump and land just a few meters away from Teri's house, making a loud noise yet again. "Are you ok, young one?" he asked.

Teri had a tight grip on the others hair almost a death grip as his eyes spun, to say he felt dizzy was an underestimation.  "W-What...What just happened???"  He asked before shaking his head to get his vision to focus rather than let it see multiple.  Looking around he was shocked to see they were already at the large stone building.  "Whoa!  We are already here??? How???"

"I ran a little, then I jumped. And now we're here" was Xiao's reply. Over simplified, but not a lie. Xiao put Teri down, and took a moment to gaze at the scenery. It was a beautiful place, and the simingly peaceful atmosphere, made the panda enter a trace for a short while.  He slowly inhaled and exhaled, before shifting his attention back at Teri. "Ok, young one, just a few more steps until we reach our first destination of the day. After you" he said.

/monthly_2016_12/79cb395692c2bf0aa7f96547fcc5c4f6.jpg.a628b03e0e0d6be8f221cb18da6b6554.jpgTeri walked next to Xaio and hummed a bit as he did.  "It's quiet, everyone must be eating."  He said brightly before grabbing the other's ha...paw and leading him to the building.  Leading up to the stone house was a small pathway, nicely made with flowers dotting the path. Flowers of many varitey, near the house itself there were several pink roses.  The stone house itself was covered in ivy, hanging from the roof trying to completely swallow the quaint home.  It gave it a slight run down feeling but it was still a nice place none the less.  Outside there were several toys as well just discarded after being played with for who knows how long.

"Rosa! Rosa!!  I'm back!!'  He shouted out as he continued to tug the other along.  Just as they reached the door it opened wide showing a girl looking to be around 16, she had a beaine on her head and her hair was jet black.

"Stop shouting tw-..........." She stopped in her words as she looked up at Xiao in shock. "....Te...Teri.......That's a panda....why do you have a panda....?"

"Hm? Oh! Right this is my buddy we met after I tried to beat up him and his friends but that was before I found out how cool he was and the others were neat to so we didn't fight."  Teri then looked up at Xiao with a grin.  "This is Sam one of the most annoying people you will ever know~"

Xiao smiled at Sam, but before he would say anything to her, he felt the need to share some important information with Teri. "Young one, from my experience in dealing with humans, I came to understand something. You won't be popular with girls if you speak to, or about them like that" he said to the boy, and then shifted his attention back at Sam. "Greetings, I am Xiao Bamboo. Pleased to meet you young lady" he said.

"I don't want to be popular with things like that."  Teri said with a snicker as he pointed at Sam who just rolled her eyes before leaning on the door way.

cb1404d04b11b7a8ba6be8355b3117e1.jpg"Are you here to take the pest?  You can't till Rosa gets back and does some sort of background check... Though I don't even know how this is going to work.  Anyway I'm Sam, that's it.  You came on that ship that just docked a few minutes ago, you a trading ship or...?"

"To be frank, we are merely a bunch of misfits brought together by the thrill of adventure" was Xiao's reply to Sam's question. Not a lie, obviously, but he didn't tell her that they were pirates. Usually he'd get angry if someone called another a 'thing' like Teri did, but Xiao wasn't immature. Teri was just a kid. And from his experience he knew that the boy really cherished his friend. "It's ok, young one. You'll understand what I mean in roughly 3 years" he said to Teri.

"A bunch of misfits huh?  Not a bunch of crazies?"

Teri rolled his eyes at this.  "Noooo he's completely insane that's why he's been so nice with his greetings and giving me a piggy back ride."

"You are an idiot, it takes more than that to show you aren't a crazy. Whatever I guess you don't look like some kind of villian.  Are you here to burn, kill, or ruin any of our lives?"  Sam asked as she stayed in her spot on the door way.

"What kind of questions are those of course he isn't!"

"I'm not asking you Teri, you and your buddies are going to be in trouble for skipping out on chores.  I'm asking your new...friend here."

"Let's see... we have a down-to-earth, but unfortunate leader, an overly energetic gnome, a grumpy guy with no tact, a half-fisherwoman, a super maid, a teenage ninja cook, a tough doctor, a peculiar chocolate-loving guy with an anti-pirate policy, a hardcore shipwright, a hyperactive lunatic, and ...then there's me: a panda that knows martial arts and that is capable of reasoning. We are 90% not crazy. And no, we have no intention of burning, killing, or ruining lives. We're here to buy supplies. Nothing more, nothing less" said Xiao.

"Is that so huh?"  Sam looked up and down Xiao before shrugging.  "Whatever, everyone else is eating in the main room.  Rosa went to do some shopping. You, however because you and your 'gang' skipped chores you can't eat till you pick up all those toys in the yard."

"Urrrgh whyyyyyy I don't want to, I didn't leave the toys there."  Teri groaned as he looked up at the sky with exasperation.

"So that toy ship and doll isn't yours? Suuure.  You know the rules here chores done first before you do what you want. Oh, and your panda...Xiao can't help you with it, your chores not his."

"Oh come on!  Can't I eat first?  Im hungry."

"No rules are rules, if you don't do it I'll tell Rosa you broke."

"Snitch!! I'm telling leader on you!"

Sam rolled her eyes at this once again.  "Uh huh have fun with that, just hurry it up and you can eat.  Isaac made lemonade, if you hurry up there might be some left."  With that she left the scene to go finish her food with the others that were evidently in the house.

Teri stuck out his tongue at Sam before turnin around.  "She's a meanie, whatever I'll do some of the work, but when M-leader gets here I'll have her and the other do it~"

"Discipline, young one. It's an element of great importance. Especially if you want to grow stronger as an individual. Nonetheless..." as Xiao paused he used a combination of Spectre Bullet and Ghost Walk to gather some of the toys in a place without being seen by Sam. "...You can also find a breach in the rules, and go through it" he smirked, and winked at Teri.

Zeon G. Zephyrfield

Giving himself a running start on the railing, he looked at the crew once again, listening to everyone in their moment of congress. Their captain had assigned their orders and like all good crewmates they followed. Seth was sent to locate the live ammo he fired earlier, and everyone was to leave the place as they found it, though of course this didn't correspond with our rainbow-haired adventurer, as he wasn't associated with them in any way known. Zeon turned to face the island, proceeding with a burst of speed along the railing leading up to the ships bow to leap 7 feet into the air, performing an elegant back flip 360 and ending with a nice landing on the docks. He felt alive and energetic as ever, immediately dashing off towards the village. It was nice being able to move freely for a change, especially on land such as this. Running through the town he noticed all of the happy faces of the people and the well kept atmosphere about them. The arrangement of the town seemed basic, along with its choice of building material and structure. It was a Silent Isle indeed.

Jogging to a stop in the center of the village... and attention, Zeon realized he was being stared at.Turned out that ignoring the possibility of the inhabitants not dismissing suspicion about the ship docking on their homeland was a stupid move, even for Zeon. "Not much of a trading village huh?" "Not really, we get by on farming and a bit of fishing and hunting.  My mom says they don't have big ships because they don't want to get lost at sea.  So they let others come to them to trade, people don't come around here often though... Not good people anyway." Remembering the words of the captain and young boy he made his way over to the market, searching his bag for money. Bringing attention to himself was not Zeon's style. In fact his gift was having a low presence, making himself somewhat invisible to the world, and it was this gift that allowed him to live in the shadow of Mirstone for so long."Here goes nothing..." With a sigh he assured himself, taking out his money pouch and assessing the products Silent Isle had to offer. He hoped to be rid of the heat from the villagers with a simple conversation, and prepared himself for any questions the stallkeeper might present.
