"Welcome To The Real World Baby." 1x1

"What, Liz? Neh." Aiden rolled his eyes before landing them back on the fire that he loved so much "You could say that, but if you did, it'd be a one sided friendship- but yes, I'm a normal visitor. You'll find me here more in the Winter than you do the Summer." Why that was even relevant Aiden didn't know but it seemed to fit into the conversation's current subject pretty well. He was pleased to know that he was reasonable, but he was sure Ryker was the only one that thought that. He did get into fights a lot, but he was nothing like his cousin...Oh what was his name? They never visited often, it started with a D...Damont! There we go. Yes, last Aiden recalled the family was visiting him, like they do annually, out of pity since the rest of his family was...Well, dead. It was the first time he'd met this Damont and from the looks of it the kid was getting into fights every day on the dot. It impressed Aiden, probably made other's leave him alone, but Aiden was nothing like him. He has his share of fights but it was every now and then- always over stupid matters but he was never able to give up a fight.

Hearing the fact that Aiden would be at the cafe often this winter, Ryker couldn't help but become glad. So, maybe he wouldn't be completely alone for the holidays. Surely the two would talk more now that they were acquaintances, or at least Ryker hoped they were. He'd take what he could get at the moment, even if it was just that the two were merely strangers who would interact now and then. "Really? You two seem so close! I guess I'm not surprised though, you seem more like a lone wolf kind of guy if you don't mind me saying so." He informed him, being sincere. He actually respected those who like being on their own, he could never survive on his own. He needed some sort of social interaction in order to stay sane and he knew that. He always had the nagging fear that if he was alone he'd be forgotten, and that was something he was terrified of. He wanted the world to know his name and have his legend live on, if only for some small deed. It was cheesy, but he dreamt of the day he could make a difference.

"Oh?" Aiden turned his head half way before shrugging "That's not the first time I've heard that, makes no difference." Lone wolf. That he was. Demons, usually, liked to have alliances with one and another- You know, the 'I scratch your back you scratch mine'. It sounded innocent but one wouldn't believe how out of hand it could get. Soon demons were drowning if favors owed to one and other and that's when things got worse. If you couldn't pay off a debt...It was just easier to work on your own. Maybe not for humans, maybe they needed each other, but he could do just fine on his own. Aiden had, he'd never made friends, Liz? She'd befriended him on her own judgement and he tolerated her, that was all. Ryker? Aiden didn't know what to call him, he wasn't a stranger, he knew his name. Oh well, it didn't much matter, the other would probably be too busy trying to figure the city out, unpack, and whatever newcomers did to be spending as much free time out and about as Aiden did.

"Well, I hope you don't mind if I come here from now on to hang out. I don't have anything to do and I've enjoyed your company." Ryker chuckled, looking to see Aiden's reaction. Would he be opposed to the extra annoyance, not care either way, or encourage the interaction? He didn't know, but he was sure he would still come to the cafe anyways. It was a free country, he just wanted to know if Aiden was a possible friend. Ryker did know, however, that he was hoping for Aiden's approval. He hadn't talked to someone and have an actual casual and enjoyable conversation in so long until now. It was comforting and he loved the possibility to talk with someone like he was with the other male beside him in that moment. Though he didn't like the cold weather that was raging on outside, he was grateful for it or he might have never been able to talk to Aiden.

Aiden blinked at the 'I've enjoyed your company'. Being as he was, he didn't know how to reply to that, and as he was was awkward "Right, do as you please." He really couldn't stop him even if he wanted to and.. The other wasn't a complete annoyance, it'd been a while since Aiden had actually enjoyed a conversation as such. That might've been something to look forward to he supposed, might've been, unlikely. He looked back outside, on the brighter side, it had stopped snowing. Surely someone was going to start cleaning out the exits and entrances so people could get in and out rather than be trapped here. It was only a matter of time at this point in that case. The demon brushed the light bangs out of his face before turning his attention back tot he room. Even the group of friends were geting ready to move out as soon as they could. He guess that was smart enough.

Ryker grinned, closing his eyes while smiling, and nodded. "Alright." He retorted. Opening his eyes to see Aiden's attention directed at the window, he looked out to see that the snow had ceased. His smile faltered, having enjoyed his time with Aiden and not wanting it to end, but he guessed it was inevitable. "Welp, looks like it's about time to leave..." He observed, moving to stand up after grabbing his bag from under the bench. "It was nice meeting you Aiden." He continued, looking to the dark haired male. He had seen the groups of friends begin to filter out the door, joking and having a good time. Looked like fun. Ryker guessed he could wander around a bit, but perhaps going home would be his best choice since he shouldn't risk getting snowed in again, the sky was still dark and threatened to bring down a whole new coat of white. "We better hurry if we're going to leave though, looks like the snow might start up again." He said, turning to look at Aiden and putting his hand in his jean pocket.

((PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR TAKING SO LONG TO REPLY! I had a bunch of homework and could only check in every once in a while >.<))

"Quite." Aiden had caught all that he said, but not knowing what to say or how to say it he nodded and replied to only the last of it. Getting up he dusted himself off, zipping up his jacket, it was time to get back to the house, he guessed. The animals were probably hungry, either way, he should probably of fed them before he left. He didn't think he'd be out for so long. Turning towards the way out he coughed awkwardly "Nice meeting you too." He muttered, and then he was gone- already heading for the door, pushing it open, and heading left. He didn't notice the cold, however, this time he was thinking about other things. That human was going to be there tomorrow, wasn't he? Of course he was. He would just be practice for communication, is all. Aiden Charlot Foul did not make friends. Right? Right. Absolutely correct. It was bad when one had to assure themselves of something wasn't it? It was. The demon let out a hot breath before slipping through the crowds back to his apartment.

(Shhhhshshshhhhh, it's alright, I understand! Finals are coming up before Christmas break so it's getting busy here too!)

(AH ;^; Thank you for understanding! QAQ)

Ryker leisurely made his way out the door, kicking a rock he had come up upon while getting snow on his shoe. Puffing out a cloud of air, he watched the vapor disappear and continued to his dorm. He shivered unconsciously at the steadily decreasing temperature. Hopefully everyone would be out doing things with friends so he could have a bit of alone time. He didn't like being alone a lot, but he found it necessary at times. Thinking back on his encounter with Aiden, he couldn't help but feel like they were at least close to being friends, he'd just have to work at it more. He'd return to the cafe tomorrow and start up another conversation. But would that be uncalled for? Nah, Aiden told him he could do as he pleased, and he wanted to talk to him more so he would. Now, he could spend his free time to think of things to talk about. Wow, he really had no social life if he was going to take the rest of his day thinking of ice-breakers. Ah well, he didn't mind, he'd do whatever he could to occupy himself for the time being.

(No problem! <: )

Aiden opened the door to his apartment, greeted by the eight month old German Shepard, Keska, wagging her tail excessively. He scratched under her chin before closing the door behind him and moving on, he looked around, finding the dog food in the pantry before filling up her bowl. She barked, sitting, waiting as she'd been taught "Eat." Aiden motioned to the bowl and moved on, she hurried over like she'd been starved for years. He walked into his room, he looked around then perked up at the sudden movement in the glass container "Ahh, there you are you little thing." He moved closer, lowering himself to squint at the tarantula in the case, Ace "Hey, bugger, have you eaten?" Aiden examined the container, no, the crickets were still there. He sighed, the thing has off eating patterns, if it was sick he would never know. Rolling his eyes he looked over to his bed and flopped on it.

Ryker quietly strolled into his room, not seeing any evidence of other humans being around, and sat down on his bed while bringing out his laptop and putting on his reading glasses. Opening his spotify account and putting in some earplugs, he clicked on a playlist of his as it began to shuffle play his favorite songs. Bobbing his head lightly to the music, he went to Google and decided to look up some conversation starting ideas. He decided on reading some Buzzfeed articles since they were both informational and entertaining before snuggling into his heated covers. He really loved moments like this, huddled under a warm blanket and listening to his favorite bands. He thought about a quick idea of getting a pet, but decided against it because he didn't have enough money to sustain an animal much less buy one.

By the time Aiden was done day dreaming it was already darker, the fact that half his room walls were made out of windows really helped with natural lighting- and when it didn't, it helped with scenery. Not that he had any reason for it, he'd seen it too many times to be amused by it anymore. At least he wasn't sleeping, then he would've never gotten any sleep that night and that was always a pain. He glanced out the door, lights were still on. Getting up he wandered the apartment, turned them off, though coming back he stopped. Looking at the calender, oh. Looked like Christmas wasn't as many weeks away as he'd planned, it was next Thursday. He frowned, that meant he only had, oh say, six days of freedom and then after the party Liz was going to be bugging him all over again. Oh well, it would be nice while it lasted. He turned, slipping out of his day clothes, folding the sheets back, and sliding into bed. Until tomorrow, he guessed.

Ryker continued his little routine of changing songs, turning the heat up or down, and scrolling through random sites before he realized that he should probably get ready for bed. He didn't get much research done since he had gotten into the internet rut where you end up in weird places on the internet after being online for too long. Chuckling at his brainless act, he got up and changed into some pajama pants and a loose long sleeved shirt and climbed back into bed quickly, wanting to get a good night's sleep before heading out tomorrow. What time should he even leave? He guessed around the same time as earlier. Agreeing with his decision, he allowed himself to sleep and worry about other things the next day.

Aiden grunted, eye fluttering open as something wet pressed against his nose time and time again. He narrowed and focused to realize Keska was doing her usual 'Wake up and feed me' routine. He pushed her away and hissed, she growled, it was the usual thing. Dogs didn't like demons, you know the usual barking and freaking, but Keska was different. This was normal, it was only when Aiden got weird that she reacted. He got up and sighed, swinging his legs over the bed and reaching for her. She eased instantly and pressed her forehead against his palm "Hungry, I'm guessing?" He asked, she whined, tugging at his hand, he cocked his head "No?" She wandered out of the room and he followed, there was mail. Ah yes, she hated it when there was mail. Weird paper things coming from under the door, why was that? The question would forever burn in her mind, the mailman was the bane of his dog's existence and he pitied her so. He picked the paper up and looked it over. Useless things, bills, coupons. He tossed it aside and Keska growled at the flying paper before he turned to fill her bowl, then left to get dressed.

Ryker groaned when he heard his alarm go off and yawned, rubbing his eyes while sitting up. He could feel his hair sticking up and sighed in annoyance. Getting up, he quickly got dressed, calmed down his mop for hair, and brushed his teeth. He checked his reflection to make sure he didn't look like a complete mess still and smiled in content when he confirmed that he looked pretty decent. He grabbed his bag once again and giddily made his way out of the dorms and down the street. The weather was a bit chilly, but the sun was out and snow covered the ground. It was a breath taking sight, but Ryker had other things to attend to, like remembering how to get to the cafe. He glanced around, passing some familiar signs until he was sure that he was almost there. He looked around at the world around him, people passing, and turned to look back in case he was about to pass the cafe. Seeing it in the distance, he grinned and kept a steady pace while making his way to the quaint little building.

Aiden looked himself over, hair, why comb it Liz would just mess it up. He patted it down into one of those, messy but still good looking styles. He'd brushed his teeth, he was dressed per usual, it was a bit dark but oh well. He put a beanie on to cover most of his hair and slipped out of the bathroom throwing on a leather jacket over the top of his tank top and headed out. He waved to the dog, who looked up at him form her food and made a half bark, before heading out to the cafe. He needed that hot chocolate, and he'd need breakfast too. No cheese cake this time, maybe he was heading out early? Ah well. He pushed the button on the elevator, stepped in, and waited to be sent down to the B-Lounge. He stepped out and looked over, seeing people flocking into the diner, it was like the personal cafe for this place...But it would never be the same for him. He headed out, into the frozen ground, and started towards the cafe. It didn't take him long to get there, it was within walking distance after all, but it wasn't too close either. Opening the door he slipped into the warm area of the cafe.

Ryker thought he saw Aiden slip into the cafe before him, but wasn't sure. Once he made it to the door and entered, he looked around before spotting the beanie-clad boy. He smiled softly, straightened his shirt, pulled up his jeans quickly just in case they had gotten ruffled on the way there, and strolled his way over to him. Sure, he hadn't really found a good conversation starter last night, but he guessed the best way to make friends was to be natural. If you acted like someone you weren't, they might end up liking or hating you for the wrong reasons. Stepping so he was next to the seat in front of Aiden's, he waved and nodded to him. "Good morning, mind if I sit with you?" He asked, gesturing to the spot while keeping eye contact with Aiden. Surely Aiden wouldn't have cared, but he asked anyways because he thought it would be pretty rude and too familiar for him to have walked over and plopped himself down at Aiden's table without asking first.

Aiden looked up lazily, it was obvious he was still tired. Some people needed coffee to wake up in the morning, he needed that hot chocolate- pronto "Nope." He muttered, rubbing his eyes before looking over towards the front counter. Give it a minute, he'd notice Liz rushing out with his things soon enough, that girl was always on time. Turning back to Ryker, he watched as the other sat down. He was...How did Aiden put it? Huh, guess he couldn't really think of the correct wording. He seemed like one of those people who were slipping by in life so easily, one everyone liked because they got along so well, were good at things, had that 'I can do it' attitude. You could say that was Aiden's way of complementing the other, but he wouldn't dare say it aloud. Oh no. Not a chance. He wasn't the type, but the other already knew that. His ears perked up, and he almost cringed. They were even starting to play Christmas music, at the moment it was 'All I want for Christmas'. Of course, he could only guess that was Liz's idea. It was her favorite song, after all. Hell, she sang it to him last year, embarrassing as it was.

Ryker was very glad to hear Aiden's reply and sat down, looking to the sleepy boy in front of him. "Looks like you could use some hot chocolate." He said, being both serious and teasing him a bit. To be honest, Ryker could use a pick-me-up as well. He was a bit of a morning person, but he was running on fumes that morning and he needed something warm and sweet to refuel him for the day. He heard Christmas music play and sat up. It was one of his favorite Christmas songs they had playing. besides Baby It's Cold Outside and Jingle Bell Rock, so he couldn't help but secretly sing along in his head. Glancing around, he searched for the blonde, Liz was it? She surely would come looking for Aiden, perhaps he could sneak in an extra order of hot chocolate for himself. He also wondered what kind of person she might be. She seemed lively and outgoing from what he had seen, but he couldn't judge based a first impression. He had learned that those weren't always very accurate.

"Replace 'some' with 'all the' and you've got a more correct statement." The hybrid's eyes flicked over to the front counter again, he was more then pleased to see the familiar waitress fixing her uniform and her hair. Tch, girls. He turned his head and cracked his neck before bringing his attention back to his guest. Well, if he could call Ryker that, or was it the other way around? Who knew. He was here first, it was probably what he'd said the first time- and now he knew he needed that hot chocolate. He was getting way too off track "Wearing a beanie is not going to hide the fact that you don't do your hair." Aiden made a face when the blonde snatched the beanie from his head and started combing out his hair with her fingers. It had no tangles, so it wasn't that hard, but she looked quite serious about it. She really wasn't she just liked touching his hair, she like the softness to it. She already knew what he wanted but looking over she was surprised to see Ryker. A friend? Aiden didn't have friends, did he? She blinked, that sounded rude, she took that back. Instantly, all while still fixing Aiden's hair, she smiled "Morning! Can I help you?" She'd just remember his order instead of writing it down.

Ryker laughed heartily at Aiden's reply and shook his head. He didn't expect Aiden to be a funny kind of guy, but he was happy to learn something about him. He saw him glance to check for the waitress and was relieved to see she was there. As she walked over and snatched the beanie from Aiden's head, he watched with amusement at the two's interactions and took notice that Aiden's hair looked really soft and neat despite the fact that he hadn't brushed it. How lucky, Ryker wished his hair worked like that, but instead he was given hair the molded into any shape and form when messed with or slept on. When she acknowledged him, he smiled to her politely and nodded. "Good morning! And yes, I'd like to also get a cup of hot chocolate please." He replied, still watching her mess with the clearly unamused Aiden's hair. He studied the girl and noted the fact that she was really pretty, beautiful even. He wondered what she was doing working in a cafe when she could be modeling or whatever attractive people did. He wasn't quite sure since he didn't see himself as very good looking, he was just able to make himself presentable every day and that worked for him.

"Alright, one second." She curved Aidne's hair up in the front then put his beanie on, most carefully, making sure that it did not mess up her master piece "On it!" She replied, hurrying off to go order a second cup of hot chocolate. Aiden looked up at the little 'fwoosh', as Liz called it, that was now his hair. He liked to call it the skate ramp, because that's what it looked like. You could drive a mini skateboard off it to be honest. He was more pleased tough, to be honest, knowing that Liz would eventually come back with his hot chocolate, and Ryker's. He brought a hand up to play with the excess strands of hair that were escaping the beanie where they'd been tucked in by delicate hands. It was a habit, he supposed, but so was cracking his bones and smoking. Looked like he had more bad habits than good. Eventually Liz had come back with the hot chocolate, one in each hand, and set them down for the two before smiling and leaving them to converse. She planned on watching, though, oh did she. She was interested in Ryker, but only because he was the first to hand around Aiden other than her. She wanted to hug the demon, proud that he'd made a friend, but she'd wait until she could confirm that.

Ryker gratefully brought the cup of liquid chocolate to his mouth, sipping the hot substance as it warmed him up. "Ah. I really need to know how they make this, it's so good." He said to mostly himself, glancing around the cafe to see the other customers. It certainly didn't have as many people there as there were the day before, but that made the atmosphere cozier he'd say. Averting his gaze back to Aiden, he smiled and watched him fiddle with his hair. "If you keep doing that then all of her work is going to be in vain." He teased, leaning his cheek to rest on his hand, propping himself up as he traced his finger lightly on the rim of his mug mindlessly. He thought the new hair style was actually suiting for Aiden, so when he saw said boy messing with it, he couldn't help but try to stop him. While he made small talk, he couldn't help but have a feeling of being watched, but shrugged it off. Probably just some other person that had a habit of people watching. It was a habit of Ryker's as well so he couldn't blame whoever was responsible for staring.

(Sorry it took so long! I had finals and Christmas break just started so it's been a bit hectic >.<'' Also can I just say that you're little banner thing is amazing and I love Fall Out Boy so yeah... )
