Akuma sat in his room, staring at the wall. Gaël wasn't exactly being subtle about his retching, and Akuma couldn't shake off the feeling he had something to do with it, despite the fact that he hadn't laid a finger on the boy during their fight.
I would try to comfort him, but he'd just scoff and go off somewhere else. Besides, I'm no good with children. I suppose I'll give him some privacy. It's probably just some mortal sickness, anyway...
Akuma logged back on to the squarish device of doom. There had been other things besides 'Steam' on there, right? Maybe one would allow him to glean some meaning out of his situation.
And get that irritating doubt out of his mind, too.
@Delacare
((my infinite wisdom can prevent many tragedies, but coughing blood is usually a sign of imminent/unavoidable death. In all seriousness, though, if Gaël dies Akuma's going to have some words with Nox. Which makes me wonder if anger nullifies hormones...))
((Gaël isn't dying anytime soon. The illness isn't necessarily mortal. Nox doesn't know that Gaël is suffering. I have a plan, so don't worry.))
Gaël stepped out of his bathroom completely devoid of emotion. He couldn't afford to think about the strain on his body; he had a job to do, and had been neglecting it for too long.
"Master Akuma, I would like to apologize for my deplorable behavior. I shouldn't have just left you to figure things out on your own; I am supposed to be your guide." Gaël bowed his head in shame, and bent at the midsection in apology.
He was once again pristinely attired. This time in a blue and black ensemble.
"It's uh, fine, Gaël. I've been a bit harsh on you due to my own frustration. We're both in the wrong. Are you sure you don't want a cookie? It's good for blood sugar. According to this device, anyway."
A little soot minion flew in, carrying a small bag of cookies. It placed it gently on the table, politely chirped to both occupants, and flew away.
"That's... a servant I made to help us. They're surprisingly strong, actually. There's a few keeping the boiler running."
Akuma's tone was nonchalant, but his brow was somewhat furrowed, and he stared at Gaël with some concern.
@Delacare
((the small bit of compassion I couldn't manage to kill still feels sorry for a fictional character. And French, no less))
(Awww ty.))
Gaël straightened awkwardly. The little"servant" fascinated him immensely, but there would be plenty of time for that later.
"Thank you, ,Master Akuma. I-I will have a cookie." He walked over to the table and ate a cookie; they were delicious.
"This... Is amazing. Are you sure you've never baked before?" Gaël reached out and grabbed a handful of cookies, while somehow managing to not spill a crumb.
Kanin bounded through a street in his fox form. "heh it's been awhile" he said changing into his human form, his clothes chaneed so now he was wearing normal attire. Black jeans, a sweater with the sleeves pulled up to his elbows and bracelets littering his arms. his timberland boots sromping the ground as he walked.
((open for interaction))
They had left Bank Station to walk the rest of the way to the Tower. Amanda was currently thinking about Ilim and his 'favour'. She knew that she had a lot to thank him for, like Calcifer, uncovering the existence of magic and introducing her to Mbuku. But Jamie was her best friend besides Calcifer. How was she supposed to just betray him, did he think? No, the strangest things Jamie had done was speak to some lady (Nox, maybe?), make really good chocolate and mysteriously make his former bullies his servants. The last one he even claimed to know nothing about, and Jamie was a piss-poor liar. Nothing that seemed to warrant any sort of active espionage. Besides, she had powers too. Even if she hadn't told Jamie yet. Which she would do, of course. Eventually. Geez, how do even start to explain that?
They past a backstreet when Calcifer whimpered.
This is where the place was. I still don't like it.
We're only passing through, calm down.
A woman dressed in torn clothes came stumbling out of the backstreet. Her eyes were uncomfortably wide-open, any wider and Amanda thought they would pop out, and her nose was bleeding profusely. She looked at them and tried to smile, but only grimaced, some of the blood staining her teeth.
"Heeeeey, kids?"
Amanda tried to lead them away, her father had told her to stay away from druggies.
Brushed past Amanda and ran up to the bleeding woman. Mark and Ethan right behind him.
"Are-are you ok? Do you need help? I have some bandages and medicine if you need them." As he spoke, Mark reached into Jamie's bag and pulled out a first aid kit, preparing to retrieve whatever Jamie needed.
This bleeding lady made both boys wary, but they knew that Jamie wouldn't just turn his back on someone in need of assistance.
The woman laughed an empty chuckle. Blood started welling from her mouth.
"Heeeeeheeee...Niiiiice boy... Gooood boooy...", she crooned.
Amanda walked up to Jamie and the woman, seeing a lost cause in simply ignoring the woman.
"Umm... Don't worry. We'll...we'll get you medical attention."
The woman's sharp gaze turned to Amanda with such hunger that she drew away.
" You got something in your veins?", she growled.
"What's she talking about Mandy?" Jamie grabbed onto her arm.
"I-I don't know.", she lied. The woman made to grab her. "Hey, stay back!"
The woman's smile grew if possible wider. Her teeth almost looked like red fangs. It was then that Calcifer flamed into action.
Away! Away! This place is not for your kin!
He flew out of Amanda's pocket and into the woman's face. She screamed.
"Harmful flame! Hateful flame! Burning! BURNING!!!"
With a roar of pain she clutched Calcifer and threw him away. Then she dug her fingers into her forehead and ripped off her own face.
Mark and Ethan screamed in pure terror as a fire monster shot from Amanda's pocket and attacked the woman before she snatched off her face. Jeremy hid behind Amanda like a small child. He wanted dearly to call for his Mother, but he didn't want Amanda to know about her yet.
