"Well, Tyr is a god of law, aren't you?" The wine god said, turning to the god in question. Tyr looked back at him and then turned his head towards Nox.
"Uh, yeah. Why do you ask?"
"Tyr? Here? Really?" She turned to said god.

"Aren't you supposed to be in Asgard or something? What are you doing on Olympus?"

"I have dual godship." Tyr said, inviting her to walk with him.

"After Ares went AWOL, I was brought in as a replacement. It's become so long that Zeus said that I could stay permanently."

Nox followed beside Tyr as he walked.

"So Ares finally snapped? I always knew he would. Zeus is somehow still the King. I had hoped that that had changed in the last century. How is the greatest disappointment I have ever had the pleasure of meeting? Still cheating on that empty-headed Hera and knocking up mortals?"

"So she's only slightly less stupid than I thought."

Maw quickly sought out his owner, snorting in excitement and his stout tail wagging, making the rest of his body wiggle. He ran up to Tyr, pawing at his leg and wanting to be held. He made some ugly sounding barks, or what might have been barks. Saliva dripped everywhere from his little mouth.

From around a corner, turning with a slouch and now heading in their direction came Hitch. His usually maintained look slightly frazzled and his shoes slightly muddy. In his left hand he held a phone which he was tapping on furiously, and in his right he held, bunched up, his umbrella which was still dripping. when he looked up from his phone, he spotted Tyr and Nox who were a few yards still ahead of him. straitening up he offered the his trademark grimace/smile before speaking.

"Ah, If it is not the ever radiant Nox and, Jamie? Was it not? (his eyes flicked from Tyr to Nox, and he raised his right eyebrow) No! that was someone else, clearly you are... someone else. (he placed his phone into his breast pocket and used his now open palm to direct towards Tyr) As it is, I seem to have missed on how recruitment of... help? works around here. Do we hold tryouts? or shall I stick up a flyer? Either way, I am rather busy and while I do have a venerable army of adaptive AI scouring the web, There always seems to be some Legwork left, which alas has never been my natural milieu. (he used his hand to absentmindedly gesture to his shoes)" He graced them with another one of his smiles, and his tone which was slightly aggravated at first had smoothed out to its usual blend of patronizing apathy, and barbed meekness.

(Nox plans on saving the universe - and has lost some candles. she is also busy sculpting some sort of hero that is prophesied to save us all, Virian is being virian, I am investigating, there are other subplots but i can't remember if there was anything that really follows any kind of long story.)
"Okay." she said softly, shutting her eyes tightly against another bout of pain.

Lilith tilted her head and watched her silently for a moment, "you know...I have some tea." She lifted her eyes to watch Tyr walking to have his conversation with Nox, "considering his busy then I can take you to get some?" The female goddess of desire offered.

She smiled. "That would be lovely. Thank you."

"Well, look at you. Slumming through the world like a common mortal. You look tired dear, though it is a marked improvement of your attitude. Is everything alright? Are you not finding enough information on me?" Nox smiled brightly; she was enjoying toying with him. That is, until she realized that he had mentioned Jamie.

"I see you've met Nacht. The little monster was never one for secrets, though she's never really needed to keep one before. By including yourself in my business, I'm sure that you bit off more than you could chew. What is it that you want, exactly?"

"What is the goal of all information systems, other than garnering more. It is rather obvious that something big is going on. It is clear that you are orchestrating something rather expansive, something that will affect me. Now, while I am normally very lenient with giving administration permission, I am not giving it to someone who has not shown their hand, or at least hinted at it. Information is key, and I shall not defer and risk what I have only now accumulated because someone else wishes to play keep-away with information i should be privy to." After having let it all flow from his mouth in as polite a manner he could muster up, he blew the remaining air out of his nose. Even though he knew that standing up to her was dangerous, He felt it was a breach of character to submit, or at least doing so without enquiry.

"You look so cute when you think you're making a statement. Doesn't he Tyr?" She looked like she wanted to just punch his cheeks.

"I thought technology gods were supposed to be smart. You and Ilim both seem to think that because technology runs this world that you can put your noses into my business. I have been putting plans into motion since before there was a word for it. If you would like to ask politely if you can be allowed information into my plans,I will consider it. But if you approach me in such a manner again, I will punish you, like the pretentious little brat that you are." She left Tyr's side and glided across the floor towards Hitch.

She dismantled her mask so he could see her closed lids.

"Do you know what I have behind these lids? A little thing called Absolute Darkness. It is so dark that being seen through it has driven men and gods hopelessly insane with one look. If I look at you for just a few seconds, your entire network will fall to oblivion. Until you can understand the sheer magnitude of the scale I work upon, don't tell me you deserve anything."

"Ah, there we are. I was sure there was some sort of tyrant in there. An uncivilised mentality from an uncivil age. No wonder you all have lost your pets. No wonder they despise you so. Alas, I shall play your game. Your dominion, your rules. Enjoy your endeavours. I shall then purely observe. I hope by the end you feel fulfilled... I hope you find your candles, by the way." He gave her one last smile before leaving.

The there is no word to describe an angry Nox. There are no combination of phrases, feelings and/or emotions to describe the absolute terror of being on the receiving end of her ire. So, when Nox, very calmly, snatched Hitch up in tendrils of darkness and brought him very close to her body so that he could her the cold radiating off of her and whispered to him, she shocked herself.

"I am going to tell you a little secret, Hitch my boy. I can't kill you. I can't contain you. I can't banish you from this world. Every god on this world knows these things, but they fear my ire. They fear it because my ire can hit them where it hurts them the most: the mortals they watch over. I do not allow myself to anger easily because I can be impossible to reason with when I am. You may think I am threatening you, but I am informing you that I am dangerous. The less you know about how I guide these worlds, the better of a chance they have at surviving. Having said that, I must be truthful." She leaned forward until her lips were pressed against his ear.

"I will destroy you and everything you stand before I let you ruin the one chance I have for saving this world. You have to learn the right questions to ask, and when to ask them, or I will take you to my core and unmake you."

She leaned back and her face disappeared to show a part of space where there were no stars and all that could be felt was a ravenous hunger waiting to take in everything. A hunger that would pull at Hitch even from the safety of Nox's tight grasp.

"I think you are making a mistake. I am afraid that I just am not afraid. I know it is illogical for me to piss you off, but alas this entire display kinda defeats the purpose. Why do you want to save this world? For the scenery? For selfishness? For the people? Either way, you are threatening to harm that which gives me power, and then you say you will protect them until the end of forever. Curious. All of this drama for what? Threatening me with inexestence? Something I made peace with in first year philosophy? It's boring, and predictable.. AGAIN For what? Me Threatening what? That which gives me power? Why would I harm that? For all your supposed nuance you seem to follow very human patterns." he did not bother struggling. Why would he? It's pointless. She was obviously having a power trip under the guise of benevolence. Again, boring.

"I guess you are right. I can't have my cake and eat it too. Pointless. Just like everything else." She put her face and mask back on as she set him down and stepped back.

"Everything I do is quite pointless, I know this. I want you to answer your own questions. You gather information. Gather what you can from these gods and aswer those questions for me. Did you ever think that humans gained their patterns from the gods? Did you ever wonder why I curse myself with this vessel instead of simply speaking from my true body, darkness? Did you ever stop and think about the futility of gaining godhood when you will have to face nonexistence one day, instead of staying a mortal and dying long before that ever came? No, I don't think you have, but you should." She summoned her Candle with a flick of her wrist and laughed softly to herself as they orbited her body but casted no doubt.

"I see that you had been what was keeping me from finding these. Just not in the way I thought. You know these Candles tell the time. They count down to the moment when everything returns to me they will grow and multiply until their flames start to falter and stars begin to die. When the last flame on a pure light candle fizzles out, there will be nothing but me. I do everything I can to slow the growth of these Candles, and you all do everything you can to quicken them. I don't know why. I actually cannot fathom why. I'm too infinite to find the right mindset to understand, that's why I have this body, but it has never been enough." Proving her point, some of the rising wax from each Candle flow together and birthed another one.

"There a planet with the potential for life was just struck by a flare that ignited it's atmosphere." She turned to Hitch and Tyr in turn.

"I will be going now. Thank you for the food for thought, Hitch, and your willingness to help me find my Candles, Tyr. I will see you all soon." She turned and strode down the hall, disappearing into a shadow, but not before they could see the single solitary black tear roll down her face.

Hitch stood there for a moment, recalibrating his thoughts before he shrugged. The entire situation was entirely illogical. Her ire and then rather emotional display, showed a flair for drama and he did not buy it. She clearly was used to people cowering, seeing her age and her powers and quivering. Her need to prove herself even when apparently she cited apathy. If she wished for sympathy, or empathy - then she could have it. But it would not be given freely. Her quip about people demanding things and others needing to earn the things they want, brought a smile to his face. He would think on her challenges, as if he had not done so previously. He had goals, and even in the face of pointlessness he could defend them. He had motivation. Sometimes, it was the only thing he had left. He nodded to Tyr before dissapearing as well.

Maw had payed zero attention to what had been going on. Instead he endlessly sought out Tyr's attention, nudging and bumping aganst his legs and chirping or jumping up and nipping at his fingers. Why wont he pay attention to him?! He started pulling at Tyr's pant leg, biting into the cloth and tugging.

She pulled her along. Lilith pulled the girl down the hallway and to a door.
