dog mom
{{tw: undetailed drug use}}
Harlow Roy
Everything in Harlow's head felt so jumbled. Scrolling through her phone, she read all the messages between Foster and Faith. What she had said to both, telling Foster things that she maybe shouldn't have, Shy logging off. It all made her head spin. She knew she had conflicted feelings for Faith, and her friendship with Foster sometimes felt weird. She knew she wasn't a good person. Leading them both on. She knew she was shit. And the argument she had with her mom over text earlier only confirmed that.
Logging off her phone, she gave it a toss across the bathroom floor then glanced at the laptop she had set up for movies. The bath was beginning to get cold and the high from what she had smoked earlier was wearing off which only made her think back to the things she had said earlier in the day, "sometimes I think you had me just to fill the void that no one will ever want you." She had texted her mom before blocking her. She knew her mom was ill, that the woman just needed help, but she could never forgive her for bringing her onto this Earth just to abandon her until it's convenient.
"You're acting like I care who you fuck." Harlow had told Faith, lying to herself. She did care. She cared too fucking much. Faith could potentially be the only constant person in her life, but for some reason she kept pushing her away. She didn't know how to let someone love her, and despite Foster saying it, or Faith reassuring it, she didn't believe a word they said. She just didn't deserve people in her life.
With the many thoughts running through her head and the water now freezing, Harlow pulled the plug from the drain to drain out some of the cold water before putting it back in to add some more hot water. While it was filling again, the girl stood and wrapped a towel around herself as to not track water through the house to go digging into Foster's stash. She'd replace it later. For now she just needed to relax, to not think, be numb for a bit and take a nap, and wake up in a bit her usual self. In Foster style, his stash wasn't labeled and she had trouble ruffling through to find something she was familiar with. After she picked something that looked familiar, she made her way back to the tub and turned the tap off.
Easily sliding back into the warmth of the water, the girl grabbed the sport drink she had on the edge of the tub to help swallow whatever she was taking. It wasn't a lot, she knew her limit, so she knew she'd be fine. Setting the drink bottle back on the ledge she leaned back into the tub, resting her head on her arm which was draped over the ledge as she watched the blue people on the laptop screen soar through the air. It didn't take long for the thing to kick in and make the many regrets she had jumbling in her mind to shut off. Soon enough, the now relaxed girl fell into a lucid sleep.
