alistair hawley
The handshake the two gentlemen shared felt intimidating and as Nolan tightened his grip around Alistair he couldn’t help but feel intimidated. The firemen Liv had talked about many, many times now standing right in front of him and while they both knew, nobody said anything.
He introduced himself to Eileen while Alistair was fixated on the lady standing in front of him, Liv had not given him any of her time. She looked up shortly before focusing on her phone, which was not how Alistair knew her at all. Her eyes mostly sparkled upon seeing each other and she would have the most wonderful smile, none of that was happening right now. He wondered if it was because of Eileen or Nolan as it probably wasn’t the most comfortable situation.
‘Heard much about me?’ Alistair replied, his eyes still fixated on Olivia and his voice a lot less confident. ‘Right, only good things I hope,’ he added, now looking at the firefighter with a forced smile. Alistair’s hand squeezing Eileen’s waist, maybe because he was nervous or maybe because he felt slightly intimidated by the handsome looking gentleman.
The sudden gulp of champagne and the worst possible excuse surprised Alistair and before he could say anything the purple dress was on a great amount of distance. Nolan made a comment about how she tended to do this, Alistair looking at him a bit flustered. She did this? She never did this to Alistair, he didn't even remember a single argument they have had. They felt a connection on almost every level.
He didn’t even hear what Eileen asked him and didn’t even bother to ask her to repeat it but instead gave her an absent kiss before pointing in the direction the purple dress had just disappeared. ‘I better go. . I’m going to check on Olivia, to make sure she’s alright,’ he stumbled over his words and Alistair was sure it didn’t come across too great. He gave an apologetic smile to Eileen as he took another glass of champagne of the tray.
Not waiting to listen to their replies he pushed the firefighter slightly with his shoulder before pushing himself through the crowd after where he had last seen Olivia, it wasn’t hard to catch her as her dress was too big to hide. He saw a bit of her hair as he pushed the door with the big forbidden entrance sign on it and met with a cold wind from the open sea. From all the places she could've ran too, she went to deck.
Now Alistair was standing face to face with Olivia, her face looked distress and Alistair walked up to her without any hesitation, more confident than he had felt this whole night. ‘What is the matter with you?’ He asked, sounding a bit more agitated than he intended too. ‘I was worried,’ Alistair added as he grabbed the side of the deck to stable himself from the hard wind. Now looking at Liv closer he couldn’t help but grin which automatically relieved all the tension in his face. ‘Have you lost your mind?’ Alistair now grabbing her hand with his other hand, hoping she would fall into his arms and to never speak another word about this again.
