Nilix had roared at Cameron, swinging in an attempt to rip him in half. His hand was repelled by the obelisk projecting a shield. He roared in anger as Cameron read. The words read, 'Succeed the test of spirit and command Nilix, fail and plunge the world into chaos until the worthy one claims the anarchist'. Nilix had flames coming from his mouth as he panted angrily.

@Libra259

The shadow bowed before her as Sierra snuck in a snicker through her messenger, "Alright then Eriana. May your strength save you from whatever dangers lie ahead. Make sure to come back alive like you always do, the people need your guidance."

Eriana curiously walked next to Cameron and also read what he was reading. "I promise I will, I come here often. Thank you." She replies to Sierra.

They noticed another kid their age was trying to read the oblisk, it struck Francis that it might make sense to read it as well. Francis walked even closer to get a better look at both the man and the oblisk. "I don't know what half that is, but I'm guessing that means he wants to test our spirits or something or else the world be even more chaotic." They exclaimed.

"Hmm, I say we should kill him. Or we could use him." Beatrice bluntly said as she started to walk towards Nilix. "No Beatrice! Don't! There is something written on the obelisk." Madeline noticed the other kid read it. The chained man seemed to not like that, but it seemed like he couldn't hurt them. Beatrice turned and got closer, looking at the obelisk to get the message. "Hmmm, interesting. Nilix..." She turned back to her sister, "we need to get through a test. Then we can defeat him."

Cameron sat down in front of Nilix, far enough away so that he couldn't attack him. "Um...I don't know if you know this but...what does what it says on the obelisk mean?" He asked him, not sure if he would actually answer. @Tetro

Nilix simply snarled at Cameron, refusing to answer him. The obelisk began to glow as an energy from Nilix flowed through the chains and into the obelisk. A new set of words appeared, 'Test my spirit' it read. Nilix growled, 'One of you may try if you believe your spirit strong enough.' his voice echoed in their heads. He simply turned to look at the obelisk.

Francis watched in awe as the oblisk glowed. 'Called it!' The kid triumphantly thought, the idea of a test of spirit flowed through their mind. "To be honest I'm not sure how this telepathy thing works, but can you hear my thoughts as well?" They curiously asked. Francis pondered for a brief moment whether their spirit was strong or not, but looking back on past events, they decided to step up. " I'll try..."

Hm wonder what degree strong is in this case... Eriana thought as she read the new script on the obelisk. She'd grapple with herself going between trying and not trying. It may not be the smartest idea but dis this Nilix really deserve to be chained to an Obelisk? She didnt know but she did know what the right thing to do was.

'Speak the words, come closer, and look into my eyes...' His voice echoed finally in their heads before he went silent. Nilix calmly stood there glaring at them all. He waited for one of them to come up and make the attempt. He knew that if the first contestant failed then the chains would break and he would finally be free. Freedom from the chains was what he desired most.

Francis obediently spoke said words, while looking him dead on in the eyes.

Nilix stared into the child's eyes. A strong darkness forced itself into Francis' mind. The darkness began to attack Francis' heart and mind in an attempt to hurt the child as much as possible. Nilix was internally thrashing Francis' very will, doing all he could to throw the kid's mind into a frenzy. A bond had been created between them which allowed Nilix to attack Francis in the first place. For the bond to break and for the conflict to end, one of them had to let go.

(The bond is sort of like a psychic one. So no kind of magic can assist either of them.)

Eriana watches with curiousity. What is happening?.. Hm I wonder what this test really tests. Strength can be all different sorts of things. Like stength in the mind or in the body, or stength in casting magic. But strength of one's soul? Ive never heard of that one before...she ponders over the thought joyfully overthinking it. She did love to problem solve and think in general.

As Francis stared into his eyes they felt a strong darknes being forced inside of them. It felt like both their mind and heart were being torn up, thrashed around, and tortured. Even though it felt absolutely terrible, the kid managed to persevere, trying their hardest not to show any physical signs of weakness, even though their body was now slightly trembling, overwhelmed by darkness. Everything felt like it was spinning, attempting to focus at a moment in panick and pain seemed nearly impossible, but they didn't want to give up just yet. Succeeding at this test was now the positive option, for if they didn't want even more chaos to overtake the world, nor did they want to see the man suffer any longer. They had a feeling of a bond being formed between the two and realized the trick was just not to let go and let the darkness win which sounded easier than it truly was. Francis was grasping onto their very will and spirit as tight as possible in the test. They were a resiliant child, having been to hell and back in the past.

Nilix began to make Francis feel as if blades were slowly sliding into the kid's body. Pressure built up in Francis' eyes almost as if the kid was being strangled. A cold chill ran through the kid's body as all of this pain and torture kept on. A small bit of light began to appear though in their mind's eye. The light gave off a rather warm and comforting feeling. Nilix seemed to drag Francis' spirit away from the light and forcing the kid to hold onto the darkness bond to hurt them more.

They felt as if they were being strangled and sliced up at the same time and instinctively tear up from all the pain. It was cold and torturous, but it was better that they went through this versus the world being bombarded with chaos, or at least they told themselves this. For a mere moment a small speck of light shown through the darkness, it was a break from all the pain they were currently going through. Of course, all good things eventually come to an end, as did the light, they felt themselves being dragged back into the void of darkness that they have been enduring for what felt like an endless amount of time for the kid. They weren't ready to give up just yet, carefully trying their hardest to keep focused and strong.

Nilix kept tugging them deeper into the trance, getting close to killing Francis from the inside. The beast physically grabbed Francis and lifted them up. 'Your will is weak, and I will kill you... You are not worthy...' His voice shook their core as it boomed in their head. Nilix was going to happily destroy the child, darkness emanating around him for the others to see.

Francis felt as if they were being pulled even further into a dark trance. There was no option left otheer than to give up and die, it appeared. However, this was not exactly how the kid planned on dying, they continued to fight over control of their own mind. They looked the beast straight in the eyes as he lifted the kid further up. Up until now Francis was silent besides occasionally gasping for air. 'I well aware I'm physically weak, but by no means am I spiritually! I've made it this far anyways.' They exclaimed.

Seeing the darkness form around Nilix Eriana's curiousity and worry went through the roof. Oh whats happening?... This doesnt look very good from here.. She thought.

Madeline had watched nervously as Frances took the challenge. She would have grabbed him but she was afraid that if she did that then something bad would happen. She stood back with her hands clinging to her dress.

Beatrice watched with little to no care. She would have taken the challenge but that damn brat had to get in the way. 'If he dies then what?'

Nilix began to drain their life force and slowly drive them to insanity. The amount of torture only increasing on them. Francis would have to either let go or die by this point. Nilix did all he could to keep the kid holding on so he couldn't break free. Nilix was going to be free either way by this point, it could end in either death or life though.

They felt all will and life force being drained, the feeling of insanity began to overwhelm them. 'So this is how it feels to be crazy....' The torture continued to worsen, but they knew if they let go chaos would break out, dying was the only option it seemed. It occured to them that if they never let go, the monster would eventually have to. Francis furrowed their brows, at this point not really caring when the torture would stop, just trying to stay strong.

Nilix dropped the kid, having sent a surge of darkness that snuffed out the little bit of life left in them. Nilix glared down at the others, roaring as he tugged at the chains and broke free. The chains wrapped around him and became his weapons again. Nilix growled, stepping forward to decide who he would kill next.

The kid was thrusted to the ground, before all life that lied with in them was gone. Their lifeless eyes still staring at the beast and their body lying still.
