Hasufer summoner cultist #1 found themselves getting stabbed in the back and impaled by Kalina, their whole body tensing up as they let out a soft masculine ‘nughhhh” Sound, blood coming out of them as they fell over, the summon they were trying to finish sputtering out as the magical energy left their body, and the casting circle sputtered out, which was part of the reason they had been so vulnerable.

Thankfully Kalina knew where to strike the figure to deal serious damage, they had been so focused on the summoning ritual they hadn’t even noticed her, which appeared to be a trend.

After the first one got downed, the second one let out another pained sound albeit more feminine from her E grade Precision Strike, they had been shorter than the first cultist and this one resulted in the cultist’s spine getting penetrated, their body tensing up before falling over their casting circle and summon also sputtering out.

Finally the last one looked taller and more muscular, so it was fitting that she used her strongest Precision strike of the round on this one, he grasped at the blade which was now going through his stomach, reaching out before falling back, his casting circle and summon failing as the life left his body. Kalina could tell that he had been wearing heavier armor under his cloak, which she had managed to penetrate through with relative ease.

Cultist Summoner #4 at this point looked panicked, they were more hunched over in stature in the way they stood naturally “Oh Lord Hasufer! The witch just murdered Svok, Ramel as well! Even Jez! ” They called out sounding incredibly panicked, as their concentration was broken their summon failed.

“I told you all this was a bad idea! What if she’s actually a demon herself?!” They called out again, taking out a curvy blue handled dagger which looked like it had small snowflakes circulating around the blade, and holding it in a shaky hand, looking to the others

“L-Let’s just surrender before she kills us too! I’m too young to die! I gave up too much for it all to end now!” They called out not sounding confident at all.

The other four who had been buffing themselves were immediately alerted by her presence.

“#Just what are you saying you coward?!#” Buffer Cultist #1 exclaimed, looking over to Summoner Cultist #4.

“#You swore yourself to Lord Hasufer! And you will see to it that he is resurrected, for he gave you the very power you possess! If you disrespect him this way now, he will show you his wrath for violating his contract well beyond the grave! I’ll see to it myself you are punished appropriately for your insolence!#” The figure called out with a masculine voice.

“#And Don’t you DARE believe her propaganda! Lord Hasufer is just dormant!#” Buffer Cultist #1 also threw in for good effect.

Buffer Cultist #1 then looked to the other three, “#You all, focus on me!#” Buffer Cultist #1 demanded. They had a blue icy radiating aura on them now as their robes glowed a bluish hue. What was notable about buffer Cultist #1 was that their robes looked more ornate on the edges compared to the others, with bluish golden inlays on the edges of the hood, and sleeves. In addition they had a symbol which sort of looked like a deeper blue sorrowful face on the center of their robe which was similar to the mask they wore.

They then extended their bluish gloved hand and what appeared to be a sizable one handed war club with a spiked sharp icicle like spike on the end of the rounded end composed of a deep crystalline bluish ice with a similar circulating snowflake vibe to the dagger materialized in their extended hand.

“#Yes Sir!#” Buffer Cultist #2-#4 all said in unison before they pointed their identical icy blue looking wands at Buffer Cultist #1, and they all started chanting in a strange language , streams of magical energy, hitting Buffer Cultist #1, causing the aura around them to intensify, becoming significantly larger and wider.

“#I’ll crush your skull vampire! And then I’ll finish off all the other blasphemers! Lord Hasufer will favor me in his resurrection!#”

Buffer Cultist #1 then raised their club above their head before they yelled out in the strange language, thankfully this pretty obvious gesturing and monologuing suggested to Kalina that a large-scale attack was about to head her way.

When they brought the club down, suddenly a very powerful high speed blizzardy force erupted from the ground diagonally at Kalina where the buffer Cultist #1 struck, sizable chunks of sharp ice, sub zero wind, and hail flying at her. [ Incoming x1 C Grade Magical attack,]

Bjorn

Bjorn looked to Fei “#If you say so, but Bjorn think that there never enough fighting! Fighting is what makes men, men! Defeating powerful opponents, basking in glory! Showing enemies never to mess with you! It is exhilarating!#”
However when Fei asked his question, Bjorn paused for a moment looking like he was thinking things through.

“#Bjorn used to live with nomadic group, before place that Zeo from formed, now group Bjorn was from part of place that Zeo from. Bjorn not see or know why that happened, but Bjorn know it did at some point, unfortunately he does not know why he does not remember.#”

Zeo
skele.png

“#If that made a lick of sense to you, apparently Bjorn was from some group before the East Empire became a proper unified Empire, but he does not remember what group, and I’m old but not THAT old that I’d know what group he’s part of, his armor isn’t distinct enough, all I really remember is that I was on a quest with an adventuring party and I think I got killed by a monster, but the details are pretty fuzzy, what I do remember is that it was..quite a dangerous quest, after that I’m pretty sure I ended up here like I am now…but if you’re going to ask us that, I take it you don’t mind if I ask, do you recall on the circumstances of your death and why you ended up the way you are now?#”

Reginaldus
0eb67581c043bc84d079e754ce5835c6.jpg

“#Haha! I’m much younger than those two, you see I was working on a grand project in a nation you may have heard of before called Widersia! It wasn’t founded all that long ago compared to those two. What I remember before coming here is that I had access to a good deal of money from my father! He owned many factories there, but unfortunately I got killed in an accident, you see the steam destabilized and there was an explosion! Why my family didn’t pay a skilled healer to bring me back from the grave I’m not really sure but I’m quite sure that’s why I’m here now my new boney friend!#” He’d exclaim to Fei.

Reginaldus then looked to Viokii, “Oh come now! You’re not being fun like other constructs I knew when I was flesh and blood, Pffft classified smashified, though I suppose there might be trade secrets your creators don’t want you revealing..” Reginaldus said in thought.

Zeo also looked to Viokii and nodded, “So you’re foreign made? If that’s the case I suppose I can settle with just knowing your purpose for being here, I doubt I’d understand half of what you said even if you tried to explain in detail how you were made anyway.” She’d chuckle a bit.

Bjorn just sort of tilted his head at Viokii in a confused fashion like he was trying to figure out exactly what she was saying.

Reginaldus then spoke up again,
“Well no matter, even post mortem , I still like to think of myself as a proper gentleman, who wouldn’t dream of not assisting a lady, so thankfully for you I actually do know some information about this realm since I’ve been here for quite some time!”

It seemed that Viokii’s ability helped persuade some to speak up.

“It’s mostly what I believe could be called wasteland from where I’ve walked, much of the landscape appears to largely be made up of organic matter, some in various states of decay, There do appear to be some interesting buildings and structures which are still standing, as well as plenty of ruins and bones strung about. You’ll also find a good deal of monsters here, like shadow beasts, and some most peculiar slug-like beings beneath the ground among others, of course there are other skeletons like ourselves, spirits, and undead which are in less decayed states..I don’t know if we have much of an overarching societal structure here..” Reginaldus paused, before Zeo cut in,

“All you need to know is that the social order is the survival of the fittest out here, if you’re the strongest one around you can get away with a lot more…some of these monsters as Reginauld calls them have more ordered groups and influences over certain areas of this realm but more or less are in the context of warbands, hordes, or pack structures.”

“Sometimes you can find rather..unusual flora here compared to the world that you’re from, is probably also worth mentioning.”
Zeo added in.

When the fighting started to heat up Zeo, glanced over and chuckled a bit, “Your friend..Kalina was it? She wasn’t kidding was she? She has quite the skill set on her based on what I'm seeing, she might even be able to teach me a thing or two with moves like that.”

“#Bjorn is impressed.#” Bjorn stated simply after Kalina went on her stabbing spree.

Iberis Odhir

Iberis looked a bit relieved as her familiar clarified his point, giving him a nod with a soft smile on her face. “Thanks for understanding, it’s as I told you before, I really only want to use force if it’s deemed necessary and this is definitely one of those times if they’re going to come after my friends..”

With Kalina culling a good number of the cultists, Iberis, who had been looking over at the fight nodded once more, “Hopefully if Kalina does enough damage some of the remaining ones will come to their senses and realize trying to get revenge on her and Scylla is at best a suicide mission..”

“Maybe some of them will understand like she said, they’d be better off serving the ones who killed Lord Hasufer anyway..”

She then looked to Scylla, “Oh..do you think that eye could have a use in reviving Lord Hasufer?” She sort of just spitballed the first idea that came to her mind.

“All Connected as in they have some sort of leader figure who isn’t a demon that they’re taking orders from?”

She looked a bit puzzled when Scylla was apologizing before she understood what was up. “Oh, you’re fine really, I think it’s..nice that you care so much to be honest…” She spoke the latter part sounding genuine, looking a bit bashful.

“I just..even if it meant endangering myself, I hate the idea of those people hurting you, Kalina or your friend Viokii, but with you and Kalina being so strong..I guess It stands to reason I could be a bit more goal oriented rather than worrying so much or potentially complicating things further by getting on their bad side myself..” She’d say even as she continued to glance over at the ongoing fight.

She’d then nod at what Scylla had to say on them working on exploring while the others fought.

She’d look to Fei, “What do you think..should we go on ahead and explore where Reginaldus was saying we should go checkout, or should we continue to stay on standby encase they need back up?”

When the fight got much more intense however, her eyes watched very carefully, as she had her Catalyst at the ready just encase…

Regardless of how Fei answered her, by the time that Scylla made her way over to the fight and was unleashing her slew of, fire bolts, powerful winds and electrical energy, it was just in time to help Kalina counter the supped up blizzard attack from the buffed higher ranking cultist, even at D grade, As Scylla’s unstaple elemental barrage shot forth, it would noticeably help to lessen the impact of the blizzard, fire hitting the ice, wind against wind, and lightning breaking apart chunks of ice and hail of the spell, causing a spectacle of elements interacting with one another, contrasting with the drab colors of the wasteland.

Iberis looked considerably relieved that Scylla had assisted in such a way, as she wouldn’t herself been able to get over fast enough probably she felt, had Kalina been in serious trouble.

Narrative boon:
Scylla helped to lessen the strength of the magical attack heading toward Kalina with her own magical attack, allowing Kalina to gain advantage on avoiding the spell and following up with a counter attack and or team up bonus.

The worst part about fighting cultists? You never knew if you killed one that you might've turned into a neat follower. Kalina realised that upon killing the first three. Who knows, perhaps she'd just ruined some cute and taste ones? Right... that was probably the monster talking. “#Svok, Ramel and Jez? Fun names. Tell you what, surrender now, serve me instead and I'll see to it that they get resurrected!#” She'd chuckle. “#I've got a lovely girlfriend that should be able to resurrect them for you, fresher than ever.#” She stated, recalling Scylla's healing magic having grown rather impressive.

The idea that she was a demon made her laugh. “#Demons are old-fashioned. Dhampires is where it's at. Then again, my girlfriend's a rather hot Demon, so I gotta admit those got some good ones as well.#” Seeing how those folk got into the realm, they likely were the [Criminal] type of cultists. That'd mean she could kill them without repercussion, which was a relief. Even in this situation, she wanted to try stay [criminal] title free herself. Both for practical reasons and to prove she'd not let the [monster] win in full. “#Surrender, good plan! I like you!#” She'd chuckle. She actually meant it, rather not killing more than needed.

Perhaps it was the language, the setting or the situation, but she really felt the monster side was surfacing more and more. “#Resurrected?!? You're really going to bring back such a whimsy little snowflake? I've bitten through ice-cubes more dangerous. Come on, have some taste!#” She'd challenge them. “#If you've the need to punish those folk yourself, isn't it obvious your chilly little friend's dead for good and became powerless?#”

“#Propaganda, for fucks' sake!?!? If I were lying, would you think he'd not be after me himself? Either he's dead for real, which he is, or he'd be such a lousy ass that he got frozen stuck to his throne and can't even handle his own mess!#” She honestly didn't get cultists like this. Silly little folk.

Now something fun happened. “#Oho? We're going full-power! Let's go!!#” This should make things easier. If she could defeat him at his most buffed, the rest should surrender easily enough. “#Try me!#” She'd reply to the threat of getting her skull crushed.

Glad to have saved up her energy, she was able to counter the incoming attack at nearly full strength. She'd use [Precision Strike-Back] to counter and deflect the attack right back at its source.

Precision Strike-Back B – Fighting Style [Specialized] [Precision Strikes] B, Deflect B, Accurate B, Penetrating B, Range C, Continuing [Vampiric Infection] B, Contagion B, Energised B - Character attacks with their fighting style, ignoring speed and armour, reaching beyond normal range, continuing to deal damage and spreading to others. - Action 1 - Grade Be – 3 Post Cooldown

Rather than following it up with another attack, she'd use her words. “#Now that we've got that out of the way, how about you just lie down and surrender? I'd even allow one of you to run off to tell your friends that we're not worth the hassle of chasing down! The others can serve me instead! It'll be lovely!#” She'd add in some [Roguish Charm].

Roguish Charm – Seduction E, Deception E, Persuasion E, Disguise E, Energised E – Character uses their words, disguises and charms to get things done. - Grade Ee – 0 Post Cooldown

A tad more serious she'd add. “#Seriously though, I don't like pointless killing. It just makes me thirstier and makes me feel I wasted my time.#”

"I was poisoned," Liu replied diplomatically to the skeletons, "I fought in a great war, my side lost but our enemies were destroyed nonetheless. I went home, and then I was poisoned and died," he looked back toward the fighting. After a vacant moment, he added, "thank you for sharing that information. I hope I did not stir anything unpleasant. I was hoping to learn a little about how something ends up here," he paused mid-sentence and chose to say, "I hope that we can come here to provide occupation for you. For everyone. I see the embers of community remain. I believe this is not a place of dead, merely a place without flesh. That you have stated desires to me is proof that despite explosions, despite being ripped apart by beasts or fellow sentient creatures, we yet live. We can build."

He took a step away and bowed deep toward the trio. Casting a glance back at Kalina, he then responded to Ibby while looking and nodding toward Scylla, "Scylla is right. Kalina and Scylla combined could probably level a military regiment. So far, these devotees of Hasufer do not impress me... though perhaps Kalina is an unfair measure. I shall accompany you to the aforementioned place. Shall I take us there right away?" he offered, suggesting she come along for a ride.

"My privacy is integral both for my own benefit as well as the benefit of the world, the public available knowledge of technology that comprises something such as I should not be common knowledge. Then again, said knowledge isn't any sort of value to most people who do not know what to do with it. Knowing said knowledge would be worth no value, if everyone knew. 'Limited access is the most valuable commodity at times'. This is a partially logical quote spoken by someone you will not recognise or have heard of, but I am programmed to make those aware of accredited work. Plagiarism is illegal" Viokii answered as she listened on to their description of the local area. She held silent for a while as she took in everything that was mentioned, doing her best to make detailed mental notes. The area didn't seem very hygienic or statistically approvable for a suitable habitation environment, but this wasn't her mission to manage.

"This area lacks a sustainable and unstructurally sound goverment, though the people present are not considerable as intellectually deficient due to uncivilised living location. It's most likely that a more developed social structure can be introduced once the inhabitants are convinced and proven of the benefits of it. It will provide safer and fairer living conditions that can increase food and production, and general gains for all parties involved... thank you for this information" the construct would consider to themselves, giving a small bow in thanks for the information they had provided for her own awareness.

As for the local flora, she hadn't yet seen any that stood out as significantly important to be aware of, yet she'd just have to keep an eye out for it. Seeing as Iberis and Liu were perhaps going to go off elsewhere, as Viokii had prior before witnessed Liu's speed capabilities from their original mission they were together on, she could only suppose she should wait for Kalina and Scylla to finish their conflict with the cultists. It was pretty clear that they wouldn't need her assistance in the slightest, only considering to herself that she wasn't entirely sure why Kalina kept inviting her on trips that the construct didn't feel there was any real need or reason for her to come along in the first place.

Summoner Cultist #4 was pretty quick to surrender to Kalina as they threw their dagger on the ground and backed away with their hands up.

“#S-Screw you! You sold me lies! You said that Lord Hasufer was going to make my life better and that I Was going to be strong and look at where I ended up because of you! They’re all dead, and now the rest of us might be too!#”

They pointed a gloved hand accusatory at the higher ranking looking cultist sort.

“#I’m tired of following frauds, if you show me you can bring them back for real then I’ll follow you.#” Summoner Cultist #4 finally said to Kalina, looking to her.

“#You Insolent...!#” The higher ranking one spat out between Kalina’s follow up words and the summoner who dissed them.

“# You dare disrespect and Mock Lord Hasufer!? He has entrusted me with his glorious power! I’m the only one who can bring us forward into a new age of his reign! He need not worry himself with disobedient curs like yourself! So I’ll gladly act on his behalf! As his sword!#”

The other cultists who had been buffing this guy up looked a little bit less sure looking to each other as Kalina spoke, like they were wanting to speak up and say something in response but were hesitating in fear of further upsetting the leadery one, which became a bit more apparent soon after he unleashed the powerful stormy ice magic onto the field, which by all accounts was a deal stronger than many were able to cast in world without serious magic training and higher potential.

“#You think you can use my own power against me! Fool! Lord Hasufer has given me a power where I am immune to ice m-#” With Kalina’s deflection the buffed up leadery one was thrown across the wasteland getting pelted by high speed winds, as well as fire, and electricity, not to mention the area where they had been stabbed right through, the buffing barriers breaking quickly from the assault.

“#T-This cannot be! I’m the chosen one..#” Their gloved hands were looking red from holding where they were bleeding profusely, the robe torn with singe and burn marks from the electricity, fire, and wind damage, and their legs looked broken and out of place. However it wouldn’t be much longer until they eventually stopped moving, and their icey war club eventually despawned, their body just laying there.

Upon seeing their superior get utterly annihilated during one of his most powerful attacks the others also threw their wands down and put their hands up.

Buffing cultist #1 called out, “#N-No problem hahahahaha! You’re really strong! I wouldn’t dream of trying to fight you how about you let me go and I’ll go tell the others to leave you, that witch and construct alone!#”

Buffing cultist #2 sounded pretty keen on getting out of there too, “#No no, that’s quite alright Raun, sometimes disclosing delicate matters like these to people who don’t like getting their way just need a woman’s touch to really bring home the point that continuing to pursue these people will meet in our collective annihilation! You know I’m better at writing speeches too so why don’t I go#!” She proclaimed.

Buffing Cultist #1 responded, “#Yeah well..#” Instead of responding the guy moved his wand around and created another occultish looking blue symboled space on the floor which opened up into a portal,

“#Iofferedtodoitfirstsoimgettingoutofthishellholeandtellingthemslowpoke!#” ‘Jaun then promptly dived into the portal head first before it closed.

Buffing Cultist #2 saw this happen and tightened her fist, before looking over at Kalina ,

“#Oh well looks like the rest of us will be staying here then, I just thought I would be extra helpful and go ahead, of course I have nothing against serving you, why that’s an even bigger honor! And of course you’re completely right that whole killing thing when it isn’t even necessary, it truly is overrated isn’t it?#”

She proclaimed in such a tone which was overly friendly given the situation as it probably wouldn’t be hard to tell that in both cases both cultists were actually absolutely terrified of her after what she and Scylla just did.

"Oh gods...he's really dead, but he promised me so much.." A voice which sounded distorted came from Buffing Cultist #4 who still had their hands up.

"I know, like a god among men...taken out by a vampire and witch just like that, what happened to the promise of everlasting power.." Their voice also distorted in a higher pitch way, also still with their hands up.

“#Oh so you warrior too! Very good! Unfortunate you did not get to die warrior death then! Bjorn knows that is great honor!#”

Reginaldus
0eb67581c043bc84d079e754ce5835c6.jpg

“Not a problem at all my boney friend! It’s not like there’s much else for us to do around here, dice games only get you so much entertainment when all you really have to bet thats worth risking parting with are odds and ends.”

“To tell you the truth I couldn’t tell you why we ended up here instead of somewhere else, I mean I thought there were plenty of places one could go when they died, and unfortunately instead of getting to go to a pleasant heavenly afterlife or, the getting the sweet embrace of nothingness I ended up here. If I’m being honest I was an atheist in my time, those so called gods, sure they’re very powerful beings but it wouldn’t surprise me if there isn’t anything truly divine about them and that they’ve just ascended beyond what’s typical, but that’s neither here nor there, You sure sound optimistic and I like that! Maybe there is something worth working on here.”

“You and your rogue friend seems pretty fun handsome, I guess getting some kind of job with you people sounds a lot more interesting than just sitting around the soulfire..” Zeo cackled some after, she seemed to possibly be on board too, both probably expressing this in lieu of seeing how powerful Kalina and Scylla were in dealing with the cultists.

“#If you can get Bjorn new hammer and job where he can use, then Bjorn will help!#”

Bjorn then looked to Viokii and tilted his head looking confused, “Bjorn think purply one speak funny.”

“ Well it’s..certainly formal, I think her and Reginaldus might get along just fine, but what I will add is just because it’s illegal doesn’t mean it isn’t fun.” Her tone suggested she might have been grinning if she were capable of it.

“Oh come now you two, she’s simply sharing the fact that how she works is whoever created her’s trade secrets and she has no intention of sharing them, like a good loyal construct isn't that right?”

“And I suppose she may be right about that too..setting up a government of..more reasonable types might not be impossible, but a good portion of the beings in this place are monsters through and through as well, driven by a base desire to consume..hm..these are certainly exciting ideas nevertheless..”
Reginaldus rubbed his ‘chin’ with his finger bones contemplatively.

“Anyway it’s not a problem to share this information as from the looks of things we’ll be working together a good deal more.”

When Liu dipped out with a bow, Reginaldus tipped his hat, Zeo gave a bit of a ‘curtsey’ and Bjorn gave a causal wave.

Iberis Odhir
“You can say that again Liu, I mean..well you’re seeing how strong they are now, so you can only imagine what happens when they get really serious, they’re capable of doing some serious damage..I feel like I’m in good hands with them and I’m glad to have them as my friends.” She’d add in with a softer smile toward the latter part.

“They’re both pretty special to be honest that’s for sure, not that many in the realm can claim to be as strong as them, it’s gotten to the point where I think we probably should be more discrete where we can be, I’m sure you know just as well as I do Liu that when you’re capable of using magic or physical feats to those degrees it can start to attract a lot of attention..some which can be less than desirable.”

“And yeah to be honest, even I can cast magic at a similar level alone to the way that guy who was getting all the support was casting…but to be fair I guess they’re inheriting some of their abilities from that Hasufer guy, I do wonder how much getting power from a noble demon like that differs from other means of learning magic..”

With that however when Liu zipped over Iberis was a bit surprised, but giggled a bit, “Sometimes I forget how quick you can move..that’s really impressive to to be honest.”

“Uh sure thing! Just one moment.”

She’d then look over to Viokii and call out, “Hey I think Scylla and Kalina neutralized the cultists over there for now, so if you wanna start heading over with us you’re more than welcome too, I think Reginaldus was saying the building is a pretty direct line from here that way.” Iberis pointed into the distance, otherwise I’m sure Kalina wouldn’t mind you meeting her ‘new’ friends.” Iberis giggled a bit more seeing the cutlists prone now.

Either Way, she left it up to Viokii what she wanted to do, even if she didn’t know her well yet, Iberis hoped to change that soon enough.

“Anyway I’m ready when you are.” She’d then let Liu pick her up, which thankfully Iberis wasn’t particularly heavy, she’d then point back in the direction from before.
====

Should Liu get moving in the direction Iberis pointed, they’d need to transverse over a wide gray pile of scattered bones and stones, seemingly randomly strewn about, some broken, some bone identifiably from humans, others from presumably monsters or beasts.

Eventually after some traveling in the distance, the pair would see what looked like plenty of ruins of what had been stone structures, and standing up right, at least mostly seemingly in order was what looked like some sort of stone structure with glass windows elevated a story or so. From within a strange blue greenish light radiated from the space, and nothing of interest could be seen from the outside of where Iberis and her familiar companion stood.

Stone Building ???
philipp-a-urlich-fb001-086-towers-of-silence-philip-urlich-2.jpg
“Huh..so Reginaldus was serious, there is a building over here that isn’t a total wreck, you reckon we should get closer and check it out?”

“Based on the light there might be others there, how friendly they might be I have no idea, but a building like that wouldn’t be a bad starting place to set up. Doesn’t look too big to defend or too small to use as a base of operation..I think setting up some extra defenses on the windows might be a good idea though based on the sorts of things that I know can be around here."

“#Now there's a good cultist~#” She hummed in satisfaction with Cultist 4's surrender. “#I can't, but my lovely Scylla can. We'll ask her once she's here~#” She'd wink at the surrendered cultist.

“#You're the foll for calling that bloated ice-cube a lord.#” She replied to the higher ranking cultist. “#I killed the fucker myself, do you really think power can save you when it couldn't even save him? You must've suffered some serious brain damage. Or maybe brain freeze?#” She chuckled.

“#Bye!#” She called after the cultist as he got sent flying across the realm by her deflecting attack. She chuckled, seeing him fly off was rather funny.

She smiled widely at the other's suggestion. “#There we go! That's the best plan I heard all day!#” She replied. Upon seeing the cultist fight to rush to go warn the others, she was pretty humoured.

That said... It was a bit questionable how loyal these folk would truly be. “#Hmmm... It is truly, totally overrated, though I must say, I am wondering just a little to make sure none of you is foolish enough to try stab me in the back. Not that I won't survive and stab you back thrice as hard, but it'd get my clothes ruined, you know?#” She'd reply with a wicked smile, attempting to show total dominance when it came to power, to ensure they wouldn't even get any ideas. (If CD's allowed, she'd use Roguish Charm B. Otherwise at the highest grade available.) Roguish Charm – Seduction B, Deception B, Persuasion B, Disguise B, Energised B – Character uses their words, disguises and charms to get things done. - Grade Be – 3 Post Cooldown

Suddenly, a brilliant idea hit her. “#Let's just keep it simple. Throw any charms, wards, symbols and the likes that you have that relates to the Ice Cube on a pile and let's set it on fire whilst you repeat after me;#” She scraped her throat. “#The ice cube's dead, cause he's been had. His life is gone so we are free. With the Dhampir is where we'll be!#” She nodded. The combined things should be though to do if they still harboured some level of loyalty or reverence to the dead demon of Ice.

“#Oh, right, you can put your hands down now. I'm getting tired just looking at it. If you try making a move I'll have you dead in no-time anyhow.#” She'd 'reassure' the cultist that was still keeping their hands up.

“Hey, Scylla! Could you come over for a bit?” She'd call out. “Scylla, would you be a dear and resurrect these cultists with your healing magic? Well, all of the ones other than the one that flew off, that is? I'm pretty sure they can be pretty fun allies, now that they've learned the Ice Cube wasn't worth following.”

Screenshot_20240703-232346-733.png

Scylla giggled embarrassed, holding up her finger. "Heh, very funny Kay, but uhm that's a rather malicious thing to do. I doubt they're that evil. Surely after meeting you they've changed their ways." She turned to the cultists Kalina was referring to, but not before double taking at Kalina. Raising an eyebrow, as she chuckled.

"I take it this is your way of flirting?" Crossing her arms. "I kinda like it. But please, I'm not a demon im half. I.. don't want to give the impression I'm a monster. Well, not YET anyway." She shrugged.

Suddenly the idea of resurrecting these cultists only to kill them again seemed rather fun
. It would bring a sinister smile to her face. Oh the deep satisfaction to encapsulate these vermin in a never ending cycle of life and death. However, coming here was about Iberis, to further her plans in which to Scylla seemed like it would benefit both her and Kalina. And they could sure use a safe haven until they figured out how best to handle the fallout if defeating a demon lord. These was a lot of lore involved in how these demon lords could return.

Iberis, being as intuitive as she was had hit the nail on the head with her question. It was indeed in fact a way to bring Hasufer back. But seeing as her plan to become demon lord herself was limited to merely a demon noble
she found herself in quite the predicament. How could she correct this miscalculation? Perhaps it could be something she would bring up to the group as a whole when the time was right.

It was then that Kalina would usher her over, to which she rolled her eyes and walked over shifting her weight to the side. "Mhm, what is it babe?" She asked. When suggested to proceed with this resurrection she nodded. "Fine. I suppose I do owe you quite alot for everything. Alright, stand back a bit."

Revealing her wand, she'd wave it around a bit. Reciting undecipherable words in the language of magic as a ring of glyphs and seals appeared in a mist at her feet. Scylla would bow down to the ground and as she rose she would lift up her hands high looking up into the sky as she resurrected the cultists from their fresh fate. [Healing B]

"Open thine eyes and realize it is me who has brought you back." She said ominously. "You stand before the eye of Hasufer. And I demand you along with my servant." She'd hold Kalinas hand. "To join us.. Then grinned evily. "..or die!"

“Let's hope they have~” She'd reply to Scylla. “Don't become a monster, it's not fun.” She'd shake her head, upon the mention of Scylla becoming monster. She could know, having had to undo half of her nature to become half-Fae instead. “You are undoubtedly hot though~” She'd chuckle.

“Yep, you owe me a fair bit~ Perhaps I should cash in some more once you're done~” Honestly, fighting always made her thirsty. She'd stand back for Scylla to work her magic.

“Your servant?” She asked, raising an eyebrow. Now Scylla was just asking for it. Seeing how Kalina had learned her lesson from past endeavours, mainly that delaying a chance to feed meant she'd have to go hungry, she'd grab a hold of Scylla's waist from behind. “Gotcha! This time there's no interdimensional-portal hopping for you~”

She'd state, as she dug her fangs into Scylla's neck (unless the latter would resist and/or dodge her), not really minding that she was giving some of the cultists, including the freshly resurrected ones, a bit of a show. Now that they were in a realm that was soon to be Ibby's, there wasn't much need to be secretive or embarrassed, after all.

“Hmmm...” She'd hum, experience the new taste of Scylla. “More stronger, more aged...” That was what'd she'd get from it, should Scylla let her. “No worry love, I'll leave it at that.” She'd say, after a modest amount. She'd lick her tongue across the freshly made bite marks to get a final taste. Then whispered. “I'll save draining you until you're about to pass out for when we're in private~” She promised, still rather enticed by that idea.

Not choosing to entertain the feminine skeleton's remarks of illegal activity being 'fun', for that didn't give much of a defined reason in the slightest to even begin considering such acts, Reginaldus had called her a good, loyal construct of which she gave a small shake of the head.
"It is not for loyalty, but for the practical benefit that such use of technology, and the technological level of a region, isn't abnormally influenced or utilised for problematic intents due to an unearned access to higher level technology".
"I believe any may be convincible, except those stubborn enough to choose to remain in their ways, though getting a full understanding of the local area and its inhabitants personally and in more depth will help analyse and place together a plan for that. Understanding the full daily problems of which the region's inhabitants have to deal with is a good start to helping provide long-term answer and getting on good terms, in order to encourage cooperation and less problematic behaviour between different parties" Viokii considered, soon after hearing that Iberis and nodding.

"I wouldn't have had a doubt they would fail at their task, it only seems logical that they should prove able to catch up. If they take a detour or get lost, we can return and look for them, on the off-chance it occurs" the construct mentioned as she chose to follow along. Hopefully, she'd be able to get there fine and start taking a look around at some point soon enough.

Actions
1. Flight (F) + Energized (F) to get there
2. Flight (F) + Energized (F) + Investigation (F) to take a look around for anything of interest or note

When he found that Viokii was following, he slowed his pace to allow them to remain part of the pack. He nodded toward the construct silently, appreciating the backup.

Liu let Ibby down once they arrived and stepped forward a few paces, probing the tall ruins leaning away from them with his vacuous gaze. Them being transported here as complete buildings seemed unlikely. It was these buildings that drove home the possible value of this place. The world is old and knowledge is lost from time to time. This place is a trove of all the things nobody bothered to write down, and a vault for all the knowledge burned by the enemies of its bearers, and by the gods and devils in this world. Not that there was an alternative, but he took a moment to recommit to the task at hand. Turning slowly from the image before them, shifting his weight between his two legs and rotating slowly until he turned to Iberis and Viokii, he looked down at her and nodded gently,
"this place is very strange. Could you tell me again, what do you know about this realm? Is it old, has it always existed? Was it created along with that book?"

He turned toward a nearby outcropping and approached carefully, just to have a little cover. It was situated between them and the glowing structure. From this vantage, he took a moment to survey the surroundings and look carefully for beings. He was hoping it would just be of interest due to its contents but he had a hunch that there were creatures there. The way Reginaldus put it, Iberis would 'find something she's looking for.' It was cryptic, he regretted not simply asking what the insides held. He decided to add that to the pile.

"And do you have any idea what's in that building? Miss Viokii, can you see anything? What about your sneaking capabilities?"

He wasn't sure what he would find in this place but each new fact bred a hundred new questions.

Summoner Cutlist #4 let out a sigh of relief when it seemed that Kalina was responding positively enough to their response, even if they were somewhat shaken up by the higher ranks death, it was a duplicitous conflicting experience, a veil had been lifted and they had been shown the truth, but their belief had been shaken to the core, as was likely true for other cultists who were there.

“#Very..good then.#” The distorted voice of Cultist #4 responded, at the idea they could be revived, but it was actually a pretty long delayed response to what she said, as it was long after they were just taking in what happened.

Unfortunately the higher rank didn’t really have much time to respond to Kalina’s response one way or another, they were too busy dying by the time she was saying bye and finding the event humorous.

Buffing Cultist #2 gave a nod, “#I’m so glad we’re on the same page! Of Course I’ll get rid of whatever you want me too!#” The feminine sounding one replied, she’d reach under her cloak and pull out what looked like a wooden pendant of sorts which featured the same sorrowful mask face, blue energy crackles of arcane ice energy spread out on the surface of the face. She’d also remove her mask, which strangely her face was still darkened by the cloak, like some sort of magic was at play to the point where it was obscured with the hood up.

“#Why don’t we show her that we’re serious now that it’s apparent Lord Hasufer..wasn’t all that he claimed to be!#”

The other remaining cultists gave nods here and there, all of them seeming to have a similar amulet and taking their masks off, which they moved in to throw into a pile. Their faces also still strangely obscured by their cloaks.
Some of them hesitated more than others during this process, but they all seemed to get there eventually.

It was safe to say that Kalina’s Roguish charm B was effective in persuading them further to not try a fast one on her, as they were pretty convinced given she overpowered the high ranking one that they’d probably be dead before they were able to get their move off fully, even if they wanted to have another go at her.

Buffing Cultist #2 eventually spoke up, “#You..know if you don’t mind me saying, and I intend no offense you are quite..pretty for a Dhamphir, I would have assumed..they might have been more monstrous..that skin sort of reminds me of the moonlight…certainly more appealing to look at than Lord Hasufer..#.”

Eventually the words which followed was everyone repeating after her, some sounding far more nervous than others, with stammering, having more obscured voices than others perhaps due to magic, while others spoke more confidently like BUffing Cultist #2 and summoning Cultist #4.

““#The ice cube's dead, cause he's been had. His life is gone so we are free. With the Dhampir is where we'll be!#””

The one who had been holding their hands up was also quick to put it down at the realization that Kalina didn’t want them too anymore.

The still live cultists then looked to Scylla with reservations, unsure of what she was going to do, some backing up a bit while others stood defensively, like they were ready to try to dodge if she decided attacking them would be a good idea.

Buffing Cultist #2 looked away briefly before looking back by the time that Kalina and Scylla were having some bloody physical fun.

However all of the cultists looked on with awe when Scylla announced to them to serve her and her servant as she had Lord Hasufer’s eye, and then Svok, Ramel, and Jez’s stab wounds healed and they all immediately sat up right looking panicked.

“W-What’s going on?!” Svok, the taller more muscular one under the cloak called out.

Ramel was lither and shorter, looked around the surrounding area. “Where did Ahmed go?!”

Jez was roused also gripping her wand almost immediately and pointing it over at Scylla and company.

“I don’t sense him, I Think he’s dead, and I sense a great killing intent from that one..” She’d point at Scylla.

“That’s impossible! Ahmed was blessed by Lord Hasufer himself! Who would have been strong enough to..” Svok looked over to Scylla and Kalina, and paused.

Ramel spoke up also “You’re seriously telling me she has mastery over life and death?! And they killed Ahmed?!”

It was at that point that Buffing cultist #2 spoke up once again,

“All you three need to know is that Ahemd lied to you and Lord Hasufer has failed you, listen to Scylla and the Dhamphir, and you’ll end up just fine..get rid of those masks too, both of them, and throw them in the pile, you have no need for them, alternatively you three can choose to die..but if you’re interested in living I’d highly suggest the first choice.”

“I’m just supposed to believe that..this..but..he was so strong..” Ramel sounded shell shocked.

Svok chuckled heartily, “Well I’ll be damned, those pretty little things actually killed Ahmed..and the witch has Lord Hasufer’s eye, whatever..long as I get my power I don’t really care who I follow.”

The tall guy stood up and walked over before throwing his mask and amulet on the pile.

Jez, silently then did the same thing, looking more submissive in how she walked.

Ramel finally did the same thing last, quite literally shivering some, before the three stood with the others and waited for what was to come. Some of the cultists looking, while others looked away with the close contact between Scylla and Kalina.

“So if we’re supposed to be serving you, what do you ladies want us to do now? At the very least I owe that lass a life debt, so you won’t get any problems from me.” Svok asked and then stated matter of fact.

“If you say so! It still wouldn’t surprise me if your creators didn’t want you sharing those trade secrets, I believe there is a good deal of money to be made from knowing how to create your kind efficiently, if your capabilities are as advanced as your looks of course!”

Reginaldus’ past business person experience from Widersia no doubt being more prevalent now with how he viewed such things, not seeming particularly concerned with the moral issues which Viokii raised.

Zeo

Zeo chuckled, “I knew you and Reginaluds would get along well, you both speak so..eloquently as he’d put it.”

Bjorn
b6282c3c9e17231199afa11a530e8391.jpg

Bjorn still had his head titled at all what was being said, it was probably a bit above his mental interest and capacity to consider geo politics and the implications which providing access to technology which was well beyond an area’s current state of development could bring into fruition.

“Yeah you and Regi probably have good talks in future purply person.” He spoke with somewhat limited common.

“Well said! I think we may just get this place properly developed yet if you’re involved in the process!” Reginaldus clapped his boney hands together some at Viokii.

Iberis Odhir

Thankfully unlike Bjorn and Zeo, Iberis was actually rather well studied and had pretty high skills pertaining to academia, so when Viokii gave her explanation she understood it all pretty well.

“Great! Glad you have as much faith in them as I do Viokii! Shouldn’t be too hard, just follow the direction you see me and Liu go!”
====

Viokii was able to fly along the wasteland space, and in part thanks to Liu slowing down she’d have no problem following, she’d see how much of the land was barren of tangible living life that was obvious at least, bone and rock fragments and pieces strung throughout the gray landscape on the way to where Iberis and Liu had been heading.

When Viokii got to the site itself not long after through her investigation, and ability to maneuver the terrain in a versatile way, she’d take note that there were some strange looking transparent energy greenish blue symbols which gave off the vibe they might be magical in nature which were spread out here and there between where iberis and Liu were in relationship to the building in the distance.

Meanwhile as Liu surveyed the distance he’d see some similar looking symbols except they were placed elsewhere and were a purplish hue, he could also gather that they were probably magical in nature.

While Iberis surveyed the area she didn’t seem to notice either symbols or if she did she didn’t comment on them.

Iberis looked to Viokii and Liu before she nodded and spoke, “Yes I can tell you what I know, The..book which I used to get us here..is the Codexius Choaxirs or Codex of Death, a necromancery book..which provides the key to access this realm..Renee told me this place was called The Realm of Death..or alternatively it can be called Oll’s end…she said it wouldn’t be unreasonable if she and myself ended up here after we died...it's safe to say an important detail which we're still missing is how exactly the cultists managed to get here without the Codexius Chaoxirs."

“I believe this place has existed before the book and has been around for awhile how many years exactly I’m not sure, but it’s been around as a supernatural.pocket dimension realm of sorts, a place where those who die may end up, while you and Viokii might not have noticed it..the eternity of the dimension that I’ve seen at least seems to have this draining effect which sucks the life force of the living unless they have the appropriate protection wards..unfortunately I’m not entirely sure why someone ends up here over somewhere else but I do know that those who had the misfortune of interacting with the codex in their pursuit of power and knowledge ended up becoming corrupted by it and subsequently ended up here in their undeath..”

“For the building..I’m not really sure but it sounds like Reginaldus was saying it was something we could possibly use as a starting sanctuary if we can secure it, at least that’s what my hopes are..”

“For sneaking I'd say I’m..pretty average, Like I can hide, duck.. and walk slower or whatever but I don't really have any way by default at my disposal to augment that yet, if you want sneaking, Kalina’s really good at that.”

Scylla would turn back and forth at the cultists as they went about evaluating their decisions. Collectively they would appear to change their minds and align themselves to Kalinas and Scyllas will.

She would raise an eyebrow at Buffing Cultist #2 when complimenting Kalina. "Excuse me?" She replied coldly. "Did I give permission to flatter.." she'd clear her throat. "..excuse me. Yes, Kalina is quite lovely isn't she?" She'd pinch Kalinas cheek humming a bit with a wink and a chuckle.

Svok in particular would then catch Scyllas attention, "Power? Yes. I am after the same thing. How about we begin by taking Hasufers throne?" She got closer to him, her face inching closer to his in deep interest. "What do you know about the void of power in his kingdom? Are the legions infighting? Have they divided into clans?"

Yet, it was here at the most intriguing moment that Kalina would clamp down on her neck. She paused for a moment as her pupils dilated and her face softened with that of longing, and pleasure. "I.. I have not been very good have I?" She muttered through her soft lips. "Mm.. the hells I've suffered suddenly don't exist. Why.. how is it that you can take such things away with a simple.. bite." Scylla leaned into the damphir Kalina. Then the damphir would disconnect and mention the taste. "Oh? You don't find it.. unsatisfying do you? Stronger. Aged." She repeated searching the damphirs eyes for reassurance.

She'd nearly forgotten about the cultists until the last one dropped his mask and beads onto the ground. Her eyes fluttered a bit as she returned from the damphirs enchantment. "Yes, very well. As you can see, we are in a bit of trouble. Perhaps we should return to Iberis. She has a wonderful plan to turn this place into something we can all benefit from. Surely, youre all mages. Perhaps if we work together we can forge this place into something to get us known and seen by others. Which would in fact bring plenty of attention to this dimension." Scylla wasn't quite sure exactly how the cultists could assist but she figured that 'the more the merrier' silly as it was the half demon with hoped Iberis would be pleased. Taking Kalina by the hand and tugging her along she whispered in her ear. "I'm sorry I called you my servant, I had to make myself seem really big you know? I didn't know how else to do it." She chuckled nervously, and uncertain if it was the right thing to do.

“#Good, good~#” She'd cheer on the cultist that was most enthusiast to obey. She'd stare down the ones hesitating a little, but give them a smile once they followed suit. “#There you go, it's not that tough now!#”

She'd look over at Scylla. “Oh, love, I think there's a pile of trash here polluting our dearest Ibby's future realm. Would you please put it on fire for us?” She'd ask with a pleading look, pointing at the pile of discarded cultist items.

“#Why, thank you dear~#” She'd chuckle at the compliments from one of the buffing ones. Then she'd lean in to Scylla. “Don't be jealous dear~ No matter whom or what else comes into play, you'll always be my favourite and I'll always ask or inform you and try my best to get you involved if things ever get serious with others~” She'd whisper-promise to Scylla.

She then turned back to the cultist. “#Moonlight? You're a really sharp one~#” She'd cast a big of Moonlight magic, making a bit of it shine in the palm of her hand [Magic F + Moonlight Affinity F]. “#I'm part Lune Elf.#” She'd admit, the compliment making her a bit more willing to share some personal details.

She'd look at the freshly resurrected cultists. “I don't know. If he's lucky he can go lick the ice cube's feet in wherever after-hell demons go.” She'd shrug, upon him asking where 'Ahmed' had gone. “Why don't you join your friends and do ask this lovely gentleman suggested. Throw all items related to that snowflake on that pile, then repeat after me...” She'd quickly translate the chant to Common, as apparently that's what they were talking now. “The ice cube's dead, cause he's been had. His life is gone so we are free. With the Dhampir is where we'll be!”

That left more pleasant matters. Like her latest meal. “I'll admit I was a tad worried, as monstrous blood tended to taste awfully foul to the point it was almost undrinkable, yet yours hasn't changed in such a manner. It might've lost some of its freshness and sweetness, yet gained more complexity and depth~ ” She stated, spoken like a true [Blood Celebrant]. Though the other words were too adorable. She'd gently move Scylla's face towards her own to plant a kiss on the latter's lip, only explaining herself afterwards. “If bites seem to do that much, I wonder how much that did?” She'd giggle a bit, almost like she was ages younger for a second.

Through it all, she'd almost forgotten the Cultists were around. She was also a tad surprised to hear the cultist asking what they wanted them to do. She... hadn't really thought that far. Luckily enough, Scylla was quick to continue the plan. “She's right, our adorable and cuddly friend is about to take over this realm. We're powerful enough to do so ourselves, but with our relatively few numbers, it'd take ages. If you can help us out a bit, it'd go faster and I'm sure we could have you set-up a nice place for yourself as well in here. Sound good, no? I mean, granted, we'll have to do a lot of work to get it a little cosier and fun, but we'll get there.”

After she got tugged along, she laughed at Scylla's confession. “Try as you wish, I won't promise to play along though~” Then she decided to be a bit more merciful. “You resurrected some of them and we showed some open displays of affection as if they weren't even there. If those things don't show how confident in ourselves we are, I don't know what will. You'd have to be crazy to do the things we did in front of someone potentially hostile if you weren't sure you could annihilate them in an instant, no?” She'd chuckle again. “I'd like to pride myself in having found the the most pleasurable way to display our power and confidence. You're free to praise me dear~”

With that said, she'd look around. “Did you happen to see where Ibby went? We should probably meet back up. We'd be awful friends if we joined to help her only to get split up this soon due to having needed to handle our own business.”

The construct at least found peace in the idea that she could get along with Reginaldus, since being on good terms with what felt like the most intellectual inhabitant of the area would provide such use. He seemed to also be on good terms with others, which would provide them with connections through a reliable source... unless that intelligence was an act of which to cause one to let down ones' guard, but for the moment she'll keep her mind on all possibilities as she had followed on with Iberis and Liu. She'd hear the praise about the assistance she'd be able to lend, only supposing such a thing was just part of her natural responsibilities. Sentient organic beings could often be imperfect and impractical in their methods, that a constructed being such as herself was much more focused on completing complex tasks which may cause others to 'self-inflict boredom'.

She'd give a small nod at Iberis' positivity, Viokii herself didn't have the full understanding of why Iberis had come intending to do what she desired but would at least try to make said process go better.
"I am here to aid my best, which includes optimized thinking and processing to consider all possibilities and options as not manipulated or biased by the mental design of an organic being's mind" she'd respond, aiming to follow along and investigate once she arrived.

Taking mental notes on the way there and as she arrived, the local landscape didn't seem very ideal for productive inhabitation for it lacked suitable environment to sustain ecology or agriculture, nor was there any visible natural bounty such as ores or oil as far as she could tell. The fact that Iberis described it as such a draining realm of death could explain the reason, although it would make it harder to find common ground for others to cooperate if there wasn't a valid reason yet located for people to get along. Either way, she heard Liu's ask for her view on the local area.

"As I see it, there are a multitude of energy symbols in colours of greenish-blue. I would originally suppose these sigils to be a magical ward or ritual, but due to Iberis' information on this realm's life draining habits and the recommendation from those in our earlier encounter, I may suggest that perhaps it is indeed a ward of a kind. One perhaps designed by someone already presently occupant, or once occupied, that provides the capability of protecting those inside from this effect. If this is true, then performing a ward like this on a larger scale would allow for large-scale transformation of local environments. However, it might also be a detection field, or dangerous ward that could harm unsolicited visitors. To test this, passing an inanimate object through would likely allow us to see, for it wouldn't prove logical if said defensive system relied on organic being traits such as detectable heat signatures or heartbeat in a realm of the non-living. User Iberis or User Liu, if you have any other considerations or recommendations, my personal suggestion would be to find a moderate-quality rock or two you may throw past any of these sigils to check if anything occurs before risking ones' self to travel through. These are but my considerations and recommendations of the situation from what I can tell" Viokii would very longingly suggest to the two, offering them at most the decision on what to do considering it was Iberis' mission, and Viokii often put herself behind others in order of decision and importance in such times.

In response to Iberis' information, he turned his face toward the ground, then glanced back over the symbols littered around.

"Well, if this place were to trap the souls of anyone in contact with the book, perhaps we will find practitioners. I believe this bodes ill. I am not confident with covert movement. It something I have never been trained in, although living alone for some time has earned me a little experience. Once this region is secure, I would be happy to map it out. Did you say greenish-blue? I see purple sigils. Allow me just a moment," he requested, handling the long metal cylinder at his back and opening the top to slide a long roll of parchment out, then deftly catching a paintbrush and little black wooden canister which fell out behind it when he tipped it over toward the ground. He rolled it out a little and gently turned it it on the wrong side, delicately tracing lines with a rapidly inked paintbrush. He made a symbolic representation of their area, [Working on Map A], carefully surveying the distance between them and the tower while he. His senses were thrown off a little -- the sun was not present to inform his sense of depth, scale, and distance -- but he carefully produced the symbols in their proper distances, doing his best to preserve their design as well.

"These are visible to me like so," he indicated, turning the brush over and tapping the page, and toward Viokii asked, "but do these correspond to what you can see?"

He turned the paper toward Iberis as well, asking a little more quietly while Viokii processed, "are these symbols familiar to you?"

He kept his head on a swivel. These high structures made him nervous. There could be something or someone watching. He was thankful that he hadn't any organic bits left. The harrowing experience was dulled by the lack of biological feedback. No sweat to tickle his back, no heart to hammer in his ears, no hair on the back of his neck to stand up. In return, he also lacked a gut feeling. Maybe it was subtle signs, the scent of excitement in an unseen enemy, sounds just at the edge of his range of hearing, but he had no gut feeling speaking to whether or not they were detected. He cursed his quiet soul while he peered at the edges of those looming towers, and the jagged coat of rubble strewn about the area.

Buffing Cultist #2 looked at Scylla and waved their hands back and forth a bit apologetically,

“Oh I meant no disrespect, you’re quite beautiful too, but truly I understand you made your relationship statuses quite clear.”

Svok looked back at Scylla, face still obscured by the odd dark hood even as she got close and asked questions, the tall muscular one stood his ground. “Yeah course there’s plenty of it, you know just as well as I do demons see an opportunity and they like to seize it if it means it’ll benefit them..no offense of course.”

“Some of them are banding around and supporting more powerful demons, the types which Lord Hasufer used as his most powerful generals who now many have become petty warlords and have turned against one another and are vying for the throne, which..I guess is good for you bunch, means the demons themselves are busy squabbling and wanting to seize control to care all too much about going after you.”

While Kalina bit down on Scylla’s neck, Svok didn’t really seem to have any issue holding his gaze, others once again averted, Buffing Cutlist #2 didn’t seem to be bothered either with the way they faced.

Buffing Cultist #4 who had been more than ready to agree looked over at Kalina hesitantly before giving a hesitant thumbs up.

Meanwhile Buffing Cultist #2 nodded once more,

“Thank you~...Oh a Lune elf! I actually think one of the members here is one of those, perhaps that’s why it struck me as familiar..hm..that’s a rather pretty thing you can do I must say.” She’d respond to the moon light casting.

They knew better than to say much back to Kalina when she made the comment about Ahmed, who was still very much dead and far away from the rest of the group.

Thankfully the resurrected cultists fell in line soon enough, not daring to challenge Kalina or Scylla for the fear of being killed again. They’d repeat what Kalina wanted them too after discarding their items.

Many of the now 7 remaining cultists waited patiently when Scylla explained what they were to do and Kalina followed up.

However it wasn’t long before Svok spoke up.

“Well then? You heard the witch and the Dhamphir, I’m not about to let this opportunity go to waste so if any of you even think about doing something so stupid as to try to ruin this for me and get in our way I’ll see to it you join Ahmed myself!” He spat.

“Let’s all get a move on then, we’ll follow wherever you need us to go!” Some of the others slowly nodded.

“If the goal is securing the realm, let's all work toward helping to secure the realm then.” Buffing Cultist #2 asserted.

“I should be able to track them if that’s necessary.” She further added.

Depending on what the group’s action was next if Scylla was agreeable they’d be able to go and reunite with Iberis and company if they desired, using whatever means for quickening the distance at their disposal.

The group would also see that the original skeletons which they had met were still hanging out around the soul fire.

Iberis Odhir

“Huh, seems that Auldlich thinks you’ll be great help particularly because of that non biased objective thinking thing you mentioned, thanks for that Viokii.”

Iberis said with a smile, not having revealed who Auldlich was exactly yet, but apparently she had heard him this time around, probably only possible because of the grafting.

Viokii was able to take well placed notes, which she may conclude even if there might be difficulty creating traditional settlement resources, there was the possibility of growing things or getting resources going through a combination of magic and technology even in what was this sort of wasteland looking realm.

In order to find out more definitively about ores or oils, further investigation beneath the surface would likely be required.

When they arrived Iberis listened attentively to what Viokii had to say on the matter with what laid in front of them, she looked surprised to hear there were wards there.

“Really? I can’t see anything..they must be hiding it, and nice thinking on the heat signature bit, I guess undead don’t really tend to give off a lot of that huh? I mean there were some monster sorts around here that might..but I think what you’re saying is much more common so we might as well give it a try from a distance then..thanks for the heads up.”

Iberis looked around to secure a stone to which she could throw across the area,

But then new information surfaced from Liu.

Iberis gathered her stone, before she watched him produce the impressive map of the area so far,

“I really can’t see either of those symbols…”

Viokii would notice that what Liu was drawing and showing her were not the same symbols that she had seen.

However she’d be able to tell from what Liu drew up that the symbols which she could see were parallel in such a way from the ones he was drawing that it sort of made up a checkerboard like pattern across the field, alternating between the colors. This meant that there were gaps in the ward which one could reasonably step across to avoid them if they moved diagonally. It was apparent the wards stretched out across a semi circle in front of the building from what they could see at least in this field area.

Before acting, Iberis would wait to see what came of their shared information should Viokii have any to share when consulting Liu’s map.

Thankfully for the time being there didn't appear to be any hostiles around them, giving them some time to work this problem through.

"You think we should get back and give the rocks a try right now Liu?" She asked a bit hesitantly, not even really sure what she was aiming for yet.

“Oh, one of you is a Lune Elf?” That caught her off guard. She wondered what Shael would think about one of their kind becoming a demon cultist. Or if they were related? From what she'd gathered, there weren't that many Lune Elves and with how long they lived, they could have a common grandparent, great-grandparent or great-great grandparent that was still wandering around somewhere. That'd be a thought.

As for the magic she chuckled. “It's nothing of importance, no need to flatter me. Just a thing that's easier to prove the Lune Elven blood within me.” She'd note, as she knew few other species who what such a specific magic. “Though if you keep up the compliments...” She'd lock eyes with Scylla... “She's sure to become my favourite and would be getting rewards, what do you think, love? Should we start picking and rewarding favourites already from our new friends here?”

She clapped her hands together. “Great! I'm glad we're all in agreement and got this sorted out like adults~” She'd joke, having kinda forgotten about the one who'd gotten kicked out of play and was probably rotting away somewhere. Who cared about such losers, right? “Oh, a tracking ability? I guess that's how you found us? Well, I'm glad you can go about putting that to better use now!”

As the group arrived at where Ibby was as, she'd look around. “Hey Ibby! We're back~ Sorry about that, we had to kill their leader and show them the ice cube wasn't worth serving to begin with, but good news, they're friendly now!” She'd state with a wide smile. “These two are particularly promising~” She'd point at Buffing #2 and Svok. “Ehmmm... I'm so sorry, Svok, and ehm? I don't think we ever exchanged names. You're free to call me by my last name, Chivernu.” She'd state, using the 'old' one she'd used as she didn't want to give these cultists too much personal information. Like her first name (although she'd worried Scylla would spill it sooner rather than later) or her 'real' surname, Xyvern.

“They said they'd help get this realm conquered for you. I'm assuming it's no problem if we offer them a hang-out spot or something here in turn, should they live up to that promise?” She'd look over the group. “They all know some magic and demonology at the least and I'm pretty sure at least a few of them will be tasty~” She added the latter with a fanged smile to the group, though she did try to spot their reactions, wondering how eager or averse to the idea of 'donating' blood these new recruits might be. Getting to diversity her food sources would be be great though.

Looking around, she was a tad confused. “What are you doing here exactly? Anything we can help with?” She asked, then looked a VeeVee. “Oh, by the way, VeeVee!” She called out, waving at Viokii. “Now that you've been around in this realm for a bit, how do you like it? I know it's a bit... rough, but once we conquer it, it'd be great to have a place of our own, no? I'd imagine you could get your own room, or even house, here! Then decorate it and fill it with... I don't know, parts and stuff? Whatever you'd want or need!” She'd call out to the robot, hoping the latter was at least having a 'good' time here or looking forwards to this places' promises, as she'd feel bad for just dragging Viokii into one load of trouble after the other.

That made her wonder. “By the way, Hydrangea? What happened to your fellow kin?” She asked, meaning the skeletons. “I thought they seemed interested in joining us for a moment, but I guess they decided against it? It's a shame, I'd like to have bragged about defeating those cultists so well they became our new friends!” She smiled. “Gotta love making new friends out of enemies, no?”

Scyllas expression went from indignant to that of a slight blush. "I.. well.. I suppose that's quite alright." Her eyes fluttered a bit, not really knowing how to refer to the cultists flattery. Then shortly after Scylla nodded at Kalinas suggestion. "Right." She said before snapping her fingers and instantly igniting the pile of catalysts and masks that were shed from the cultists.

"Fascinating." She replied to Svok on the topic of the fallout in the demon realms. "This might be a good opportunity. Surely, in due time one among those generals will overcome the others. Then.. perhaps I'll be pardoned." She spoke out loud in thought. "But really, pardon isn't my goal." She grinned. "I want the throne. Then I'll make the hells bow before me." She chuckled a bit evily. "Then.. perhaps even the heavens will witness my terror."

Clearing her throat she'd continue, "Very well Svok.." she said as Kalinas mentioned choosing favorites. "..you seem to be quite refreshing. How would you like to be my personal servant? Perhaps one who could be my eyes and ears in the outside world and every world in between?" Scylla would take Svoks hand. "I promise the rewards will be worth your efforts."

Letting Svoks hand go Scylla would pace a bit. "As long as you all are with us, I shall see to it that you're demise in any of our efforts would be resolved. As in, I shall see to it personally you are never truly killed. As a noble of the demon realms I shall bestow this curse upon you all. Should you desire to be free of it. Then perhaps Kalina could see to it. You may all refer to me by madam Scylla, or any equivalent title."

---

After having sorted out the formalities Scylla found herself in the presence of Iberis to which the half demon witch immediately took her by the hand. "Hi Ibby darling!" She said immitating a British accent. "Come and see the marvelous force we've brought together! Perhaps me getting us into this predicament might have been worth the trouble?"

"Here.." Scylla tugged Iberis along further. "..this is Svok. He is quite the fierce and shrewd one among them."

Scylla then turned to the others, Viokii and Hydrangea. "Greetings loves." She winked. "Did you miss me?" She giggled softly.

Viokii sure as anything didn't recognise the name Auldlich, wondering to herself if it had been the name of someone who was mentioned prior to her arrival. She hadn't heard anything about them mentioned the entire time, and if Iberis had just spoken it then it likely had to be someone of importance.
"Who is 'Auldlich'? I have not yet encountered anyone to mention this name, unless it has went unspoken until now?" the construct questioned. From what it sounded like, perhaps it was someone else who had ideas or views with helping the societal and living conditions of this realm. Giving a look over Liu's map soon enough, she started to piece together the anomalous details that could only explain that he must've been seeing different symbols. The locations didn't entirely align either, so she'd shed some light on it.

"That which you have drawn doesn't match what I see, that they share different design. Though from the map you drew, the differing symbols are indeed separate and appear to be in different locations. They are located in parallel, in a checkerboard pattern. Though that makes me question in what directionary or linking manner has them connected. Testing a rock may be a viable option, for my hypothesis it would mean that these sigils would have to be linked via an area-of-effect or a mana-flow like a wire. If a testing object is passed through, such as a rock, then this would be determinable. If it's an area of effect, then we would need either a counter-effect or to break the effect the symbols are causing. If it's a connected mana-flow, then it's possible that there might be a way to pass by them safely... or, that either teleportation, special transportation, or once again breaking the symbols would be necessary. At the best, I would still recommend throwing a rock past it to check before you go through it. Though the requirement for two different symbols in a specific pattern is curious, if it were to be a defense system then it's puzzling why they would make it so obvious. It may not be so dangerous after all, or the one which set it up may not be very... considerate of possibilities" she'd conclude, looking to Scylla and Kalina as they had once again joined up with them.

"Greetings, I hope your most recent endeavour elsewhere has proven successful" she'd answer, not sure who they had exactly brought along but hoping that they could be trustworthy enough to not perform actions against the group. For now, she'd turn her attention to Kalina and answer.
"I hold no personal biases or judgemental opinions on this realm, for the sake of practicality and optimisation. I currently only view and hold thoughts for the sake of productivity on how to effectively utilise and work in the given space" Viokii would answer over her current first time in such a death realm, considering the offer of being able to inhabit the realm for only a brief moment.
"Whilst the concept of an entity that cannot be considered 'alive' or 'dead' due to being a crafted object without a conscience or a soul living in a realm of the dead could be considered as 'funny' or 'ironic' to some, I am not designed to be able to physically or mentally comprehend these emotions and thus they do not provide any personal meaning to me. For other work, residing here may also prove inconvenient at times to travel in and out for myself and with property, so while I may aid with the growth and improvement, I would assume long-term residence here is not a valid option for myself. Unless proven or answered otherwise that I would have good reason to" the construct would mention with a small nod of her head.

Liu nodded in greeting to the ladies and peered silently at their new companions. To madame Kalina's question, he made a quiet 'hm' in response and nodded once more, confirming, "I think perhaps you are right. It didn't cross my mind, if I'm being honest. I feel a general hesitance toward recruiting those who are, at the moment at least, non-combatants."

He spent a moment pondering, leaving a few justifications unsaid, before looking toward the checkerboard of sigils, wondering aloud,
"perhaps it is because I am completely reanimated, and lady Viokii, you are entirely created by art rather than nature. It may be that the one who produced it is a bit of both and is attempting to protect themself from the plunder of the living..." and added after glancing at Kalina, "and nearly living,"
assuming, perhaps hastily, that she has not seen the same sigils he can.

Pointing directly at the nearest sigil he could see, he stated his resolve to Ibby, "I shall toss a handful of gravel at that spot."

Reaching down and clutching two fistfulls of rubble, he looked to his left and right and gave those around him enough time to get into safe cover. He stayed a little over 3 meters away and once everyone was stationary in their chosen spot, he would huck the fistful of gravel at the nearest square visible to him and dart backward to avoid whatever the response would be. Silently he prayed the one who placed these things would not be too mad at him for the intrusion.

There wasn’t much response when Kalina asked if one of them was a Lune elf.

Svok chuckled a bit himself,

“Yeah one of us is a Lune Elf all right but doesn’t seem like they feel like sharing right now, a damn shame, cause If I find out whose withholding from our new leader, well It’ll be up to ya if you think they need some readjusting.” He left it at that.

Buffing Cultist #2 simply said

“Why I’m only speaking the truth. Also, I can probably point out the other Lune Elf if you’d like.” Seemingly not wasting an opportunity to gain favor should it present itself to her.

“And right you are, a much more productive use it’d seem.” She also added.

Svok added in, “Yeah I’m a bit miffed that I wasted all that time following that one, Sure I got some power outta it, but not nearly enough apparently.”

Svok was a bit surprised when Scylla asked him to be her servant. He’d let her take his hand as he moved with her.

He’d chuckle once more, this time more pronounced.

“Very Well Madam Scylla, I’ll take you up on that offer I’ll be your servant, anyone whose vying for the throne in a place as dangerous as that and has shown me they have the Power to back it up why, I’d be foolish not too, that curse sounds exactly what I’m looking for too.”

“Plus I like a lady who knows exactly what she wants..why settle for pardoning when you can take it all.” Svok was clearly impressed with Scylla’s desire for more shown, much like he had.

The other cultists were quick to acknowledge her with a “yes Madam Scylla” or an equivalent when a few of them starting popping off with it.

Iberis Odhir

Iberis was a bit surprised to see Kalina and Scylla return with a bunch of the cultists who she had watched them kill not all that long ago. Even so she gave a smile and wave to Kalina upon her making herself known.

She’d giggle a bit with Scylla putting on the accent.

She looked to the to promising ones. “Oh hello! I hope you two live up to your expectations then.”

Buffing Cultist #2 upon the fact being brought up that Kalina hadn’t heard her name eventually spoke up,

“Well then Chivernu, you may call me Vistele in return, and I certainly hope too..” She’d look to Iberis.

“You can just call me Iberis.” She'd say with a smile.

“And hello Svok! I hope you use that fierceness and shrewdness to advance our operation here.”

Svok looked to Iberis and gave a bit of a bow.

“Damn right, It’s clear you people are the ones with the true power, well beyond what Hasufer had, If Madam Scylla wants me to support you then I’ll give it 110%!” He announced.

Iberis then turned back to Kalina,

“If you and Scylla think they’ll be useful, I don’t really have a problem with it, could definitely prove to be helpful and you know me, I prefer to avoid killing people if it can be helped.”

She also giggled some about the drink comment, before she responded to the next part

“And..yeah! We’re actually working on that whole getting ‘place to hang out’ right now.”

“Viokii and Liu are looking at some kind of..I think magic wards? in front of that building over there that for some reason I can’t see, and we’re trying to figure out how to proceed without getting..well killed by whatever the thing is. Even if Scylla can revive people it’d be a real pain to die here, I think there are some additional risks carried with it compared to elsewhere.”

As for Viokii, Iberis decided she’d try to explain to the best of her ability, “Auldlich..is..a user of the book I was discussing earlier, he sort of grafted himself to me, and he’s undead, but he’s not a bad guy really, he helped me figure out how to get us here, and also helped me with the process required to let Liu be my familiar.”

“Anyway he’s quite knowledgeable about undead and certain types of magic and him and myself, we share memories.”

Iberis listened attentively to what Viokii’s thoughts were on the wards from that point on, encouraging the others there to do the same.

“Awh, I understand, personally I think you’ve been really helpful so far Viokii, you’ve been gathering information and helped handle the locals during the fighting, so I’d really see it no trouble making a space for you to be here with us long term anyway.”

“Okay, sounds like we should try the rock approach then.”
She’d conclude after Viokii spoke, and it looked like Liu had a similar thought.

“Huh? I got the impression that they were interested in helping us, I mean Reginaldus is the one who directed us this way, and they each said they had different reasons for possibly wanting to work with us, just because they aren’t coming in blazing right now doesn’t mean they won’t if we invite them in when we got a place, I’m sure of it.”

Iberis felt inclined to say.

She nodded at the point when Liu was going to throw the gravel.

“Alright everyone back! Even if the pattern Viokii said sounded amateurish in design at best if it’s that recognizable, it doesn’t mean there couldn’t be some seriously dangerous magic in use here.”

Iberis promptly got back as well from where the throwing was taking place.

As soon as the gravel hit the nearest ward symbol that Liu could see, a large vortex of white lightning shot up from it and almost immediately vaporized the gravel a large boom which radiated across the area.

And suddenly a cloaked figure became visible standing on top of the building which the group had been trying to get too.

“#You there! Leave Now! You cannot have my staff! It belongs to me and nobody else! Now begone!#”

The voice in Abyssal permeated throughout everyone present as if some sort of telepathy was being utilized, those who were living would feel a strange chill, and an oppressive miasma which began to engulf the area.

Some of the cultists looked hesitant upon hearing this, becoming more defensive in their stances. However notably Svok looked like he was reving up to fight taking a much more confident stance, drawing his catalyst, staying near in front of Scylla.

Meanwhile Vistele also looked like she was readying her wand.

She sighed a bit a Scylla's words. “Feels like you'll only get deeper into trouble, though I guess that means you'll owe me even more favours soon enough, when I come drag you out of all the troubles you've dived into.” She'd show Scylla a fanged smile.

A bit surprised at how literal Scylla was taking this, she was left without words for a second, until she realised she might as well follow suit. “Oho, personal servants? That's perhaps even better than what I had in mind~ Are you up for the job to become mine?” She'd ask buffing cultist #2.

Another surprise happened when Scylla referred to Kalina for deciding which ones should stop being resurrected by Scylla's healing magic. Why and how it was that on her? She had no clue. She figured she'd just play along. “No worries, I'll make sure they won't want to be free of it. I'm aiming to show them that we're soooo much more fun and rewarding to serve than the ice cube could've ever been~ Aren't you?” She'd reply to Scylla.

Yet again, Scylla took her off guard. The British accent shortly reminder her of her past life. The 'other world' one, at that. It wasn't a fond memory, so she tried forgetting it quickly.

Next up was VeeVee, who'd first made her smile. “Very successful! Look at the all the new friends we made~” She'd gesture at the cultists. The next bit was a tad saddening. “Do you really not feel anything? Not even really deep down inside?” She wondered.

The next bit made her wonder. “VeeVee, you're able to know what emotions are about, right? To help others, surely you know what the emotions entail? Imagine you having them? Would that help you form an opinion based on the idea of having them? Just as a thought experiment, just for fun right now~ Though later on, I'd be happy if you were happy, so if you learned to be happy, that'd help me be happy as well~” She'd state.

“As for sticking around here, why don't you think of what good reasons for it would be? I'll help you accomplish them in turn, simply because I like having you around~ I'd offer to cuddle up each night, but I'm not sure if you'd consider that good reason? If I could tinker, I'd love to help you get back functions, but I guess the best I can do now is try find someone else for you that can... Ah, but I can still help you test out personalities if you want? A few bits here and there surely won't distract from our mission too much, right? Just a bit of banter?” She'd offer/suggest to the construct.

Nodding at Liu, she replied. “That makes sense. So long as they won't get in our way, that's fine as well. Though the roguish gal seemed fun and I wanted to know if that warrior one was impressed enough by me yet. Ah well, I'll have to go ask later~” She'd add. “That does make me wonder, if I might ask, do they feel like... the same species or kind to you? They're probably from different races before their current state. I sometimes wonder if I'm more Elf or more Vampire, but in your case, you're sort-off fully undead, yet might still be thinking of yourself as what you were before that? Ah... I ramble, forgive me.” She'd stop herself, having her wondering going free for a bit too much.

The whole Lune Elf story got her to sigh. “Eh, your offer is nice, but I'll be nicer. Let the Lune Elf keep hiding for a bit, if they must. I'm a gracious enough leader to give them some time to come forwards by themselves.” She decided, not wanting to be too cruel or demanding from the get-go. Besides, it wasn't that important, it was mostly just curious.

She'd look at Vistele. “Oh, my, what a pretty name~ Now I'm starting to wonder if such a pretty name belongs to someone with an equally pretty face~” She'd reply to Vistele, her curiosity about the looks of whom she was dealing with getting the better of her, as she'd once again try to use some [Roguish Charm] to get things done.

Roguish Charm – Seduction B, Deception B, Persuasion B, Disguise B, Energised B – Character uses their words, disguises and charms to get things done. - Grade Be – 3 Post Cooldown

Smiling at what Ibby said, she resisted the urge to go hug the witch. “Oh, that's why I like you~” She'd state upon hearing her say she preferred to avoid killing people. As innocent as it sounded, it went pretty deep, as it as what helped Kalina remember this wasn't someone on the same path as Renee had been on.

“Yeah, I can't recommend dying.” She'd nod sagely at that bit. “Though I can't say I know much about wards either. I just try to just stab through them, I guess?” She offered.

Kalina was able to back-up one bit. “Yeah, out of all of them, Audlich was pretty nice at the end of it all.” She'd confirm. “Rock, paper wards it is.” She'd also add, watching Fei do his thing.

As for the skeletons, Iberis' mention was a relief. “Ah, fair enough and good to know. I'm sure there's some fun stories to share or games to play or something~” She'd joke, but also, not really joke. Honestly, with how bad her youth had been, getting some folk together to play some games sounded like utter bliss.

She was a tad surprised by the sudden figure calling out about a staff. “#Eh? But now I want your staff!#” She'd reply. Honestly, him telling them they couldn't have it was the only reason she'd consider taking it. “It sounds like his staff is pretty special, I saw we go take it~” She'd translate, should any of them not speak abyssal.

Seeing Svok ready his stance and Vistle ready her wand, Kalina smiled. “We did well picking you two as our favourites, it seems~ You wanna try use that buffing ability on me, dear Vistele?” She'd ask nicely. She was pretty curious how it'd be to be on the receiving end of that bit.

That said... “I've got enough range to try hit him from here, but I feel like it'd just bounce off or something, even with enough force to shatter most barriers... Either I'm just being paranoid, or there might be some sort of trick going on. Or an illusion, maybe? Sooo... anyone got any ideas?” She herself had none, as of now.

Holding the clumps of stone in his hands, pebbles and dust dripping between his finger bones, he paused for a moment and considered Kalina's question. It is one he has not stopped struggling with. Many words and lines of thought were stirred up in his mind. Threads and dust, feeling and reason all mingled as though thrown from a basket. Like flexing a finger, he was able to bring himself back into the present and wipe away the distractions. The price he paid for this psychical show of force was honesty. He replied like the shot of a rifle in tone while casting the rocks forward, "I had wished for death for a very long time and when I finally found courage to dance with him, a joke seems to have been played. I do not know what I am now, other than alive."

Liu peered up at the sky, jaw open at the pillar of energy blasting into the sky. He had been in some large fights where various types of ordinance were employed: some explosives, alchemical weapons like accelerants and rapidly hardening glue, fire and ice and lightning searing out of Scylla's person, but he hadn't encountered anything outside of the young lady's artillery that he was certain would vaporize him in an instant until the moment the gravel was consumed by this malefic landmine. The one, Liu presumse, who generated it appeared before them and asked them to leave and it was a course of action he felt might be for the best. However, biting his tongue, so to speak, he turned and looked back at the party of individuals behind him mostly preparing for aggressive action. Cognizant of Scylla and Kalina's power, he was sure they would make the thing work for it but he was not, in fact, sure if they would all be able to best the creature. Perhaps their numbers would win the fight, but the resident of that tower seemed to have had preparation on his side, and this was likely that this paranoid magician rigged his house to be a horrifying dungeon of land mines and other sinister traps. In short: not Liu's thing.

His jaw remained open and his head turned slightly toward Kalina and her new troup, a little worried that her provocation would draw the thing's immediate action, and turned the other way toward Ibby, whispering nervously,
"ah, I am discovering rapidly that I am squarely occupying the role of the 'party pooper' on staff for this expedition;" and then continued at a higher volume so the others could also hear him without effort, "I shall suggest the usual: perhaps it is better to speak with this being first. While I trust Iberis' skill in grafting, I would prefer to not see my companions -- new or old -- have limbs removed from their bodies while executing a theft."

He felt the need to continue, adding, "though it appears something can be said about a show of force, which I shall admit to my underestimating that course of action regularly, I simply think it is not an option on account of this being's probable obession with his enchanted stick."

After the cultists all followed suit in their references to Scyllas imposed title among them, the half demon grinned a bit and looked at Kalina. The damphir seemed clueless, and well it didn't seem she very well understood what she meant. No matter, a bit of miscommunication was common even amongst the best relationships. All Scylla could do was bite her bottom lip ecstatically to affirm Kalina.

It was here Svok would interject, the witch shifting her red orbs towards her favored servant. "Yes, that Hasufer was indeed quite pathetic. But.. make no mistake my sweet little cloaked monster. Hasufers essence is still alive and he will be manipulating through the astral planes to make himself manifest again.." she'd wink a bit. "..we simply hit him at his weakest, he was at the tail end of a battle. These demon lords armies are directly linked to their essence. Bah. It's all quite much to explain." She waved her hand dismissively. It appeared that Kalina had distaste towards the half demons aspirations yet she seemed willing to continue to support it. Turning immediately over, Scylla would plant a kiss on the damphirs lips.

"I'm a lost cause dear.." she'd pinch Kalinas cheek softly whilst looking into her eyes. "..run while you still can." Shed giggle softly. "But.. as long as the blood flows through my heart, and breath through my lungs I'm all yours."

---

Back at the ruins with Iberis, Vioki and Liu she addressed Iberis comment about Svok.

"I'm certain he won't disappoint." Dropping the british act and returning to her usual way of speaking. "Trust me, they will be useful. Especially if we plan to build this place back up. Sure, kinetic magic would help but think about how boring it would be to build a castle a block at a time." Scylla was beginning to sound like she was trying to sell something. "No lovely witches like us should put ourselves through such toils." Spoken like a true demon noble, apparently.

She' overhear Kalina speaking to Viokii then, truly the damphirs idea was interesting. "Excuse me for eves dropping, but I too find this idea about fiddling with emotions a good one. Of course Veevee.. it's up to you of course." She felt small for a bit, here she was with all of hell on her tail and suddenly she feels the need to bring up good feelings? "I uhm.. must add that my head works alot better because of you Veevee. I'd fight an angel army for you." She giggled shyly this was truly a vulnerable moment for Scylla.

it seemed the inner awkwardness would be interrupted by Liu warning of falling debris. "Oh? Pardon me." She said as she moved over. What happened next though, she would never expect it was as if an explosion appeared in the shape of a lich. Her head came back a bit at the sudden apparition with an impressed gasp. "You.. did it Iberis!" She gasped again, moreso impressed by her discovery than threatened by the threat appearing before them.

Kalina would then break the silence, making threats and desired to even destroy the lich like being before them. "Now, now sweetheart, I love the spirit but perhaps this.. uh.. thing has some explaining to do."

Addressing the apparition, "If I may, fallen or undead.. by what means do you guard this so called staff?" She hoping to pry into knowing if it was an illusion to better gauge whether it would inflict a narrative curse or resort to physical and magical combat. Either way, Scylla lightly pulled at Svoks hand so as to discreetly tell to make some distance. Scylla understood her role in a battle all too well. She was the weakest physically yet the strongest channel of magic. She' also pull her wand out from her back pocket ever so gently as she stepped back. The apparition was incredibly huge. And from the simple fact it was guarding an item like a catalyst it could prove formidable. "Why.. dear Ibby, I think I'm growing to love you. So this is what we're here." Scyllas was clearly impressed, and giggled at the fact Iberis never mentioned such a thing.

Character Sheet

Viokii had taken note of the info Iberis had given to her on Auldlich, listening to Kalina and shaking her head when asked if she felt anything.
"I am constructed in a different manner in comparison to your basic biological inclusions, I cannot actually sense any such emotions within myself, it is impossible. Self-imposing what are simply abstract concepts to myself is an inherent detriment to my optimised processing and will highly negatively affect algorithm outcomes. These emotions are primarily processed through hormones in the body in order to help with the actions and survivals of a biological being. My algorithms replace that requirement. Plus, as established by documented past history, such emotional comprehension given to sentient construct and AI has a 93.33% chance in resulting in AI or mechanical being uprising and rebellion amongst whatever population or environment they are located in, followed by guaranteed superiority. I am advised to recommend that you do not ilicit instructions that may result in such uprising" Viokii recommended, nodding to Scylla before speaking to the girl.

"It is appreciated, but I would not unnecessarily request that you do dangerous combat without emergency reason. Unless to both of you such understanding of said information is so integral for myself to understand, I would recommend that such comprehension is incredibly dangerous in case I attain antagonistic tendency to reality and societies" Viokii mentioned to both Kalina and Scylla, soon enough a sudden being mentioning in defense about his staff showing up. It did make her consider one thing, that being that she should probably find the time to research and understand the languages of the new world, but that'd have to be later. Hearing from the others around her as well as the look of defensiveness on some, she could only assume it was trouble. That and the barrier...

"The defensive wards are still present, we likely cannot physically approach him anyway, that and I doubt physical projectiles can surpass it. Magical, maybe, but I'd guess that's likely considered. If confrontation proves dangerous, we will need to either figure out how to bypass or disable the wards, or to lure him out of them. Though since the ward barrier isn't 'zapping' the ground, it only feels logical that the wards can simply be broken via their sigils. Though that is up to someone elses' decision if desired... Kalina, if you'd wish to attempt to sneak up on the target, I'd recommend trying to break the sigils whilst minding to not cross them first. As User Liu can also move fast, I'd suggest he too is fit to it, though that is on the basis we are attempting to enter. With these wards removed, his entire defensive set-up will be simply naught and dealt with" the construct recommended to the group in a quieter tone as to not alert the staff-possessing stranger onto what she was saying, at least from her observation of what she could understand.
