"A pleasure to meet you, Ms. Adaline. My name is Marina Campbell." Marina said, eyebrows rising, surprised by the skill and speed of the young girl. Marina certainly couldn't have done that at her age, but this new land was a place of exceptional people.

(My bad entirely, she's not telepathic, I just misread and thought you said Marina's name aloud.)

"If we're going to try again I can certainly hit it harder. It seems I've made a mistake in underestimating your skill. My deepest apologies. Now, if your ready?"

Marina pulled her arm back and threw the ball like she had thrown her deadly stone at the Eye of the Cyclops of Mareton Abbey.

Enma

For a golem like her, the bustling festival that was happening outside was no more than crowds of laughing humans. She tried to mingle with them and enjoy herself but ended up spending her time measuring and uncovering some rigged games, which resulted in her being escorted here by some of the game owners. She's now playing a game of chess with an old captain of the east guard and honestly, this game was much more enjoyable for her than the festival, the strategy involved made the gears inside her head turn.

"That is a bold move, young lady. But you left your king open!" The old captain seems happy to have a companion for his game and has been trying his best to defeat Enma in the last twenty or so games, all ending up with him losing. He moved his queen to threaten Enma's king, but she immediately countered by moving his knight to block the way and threaten back the captain's queen, all while opening the way for her bishop the opportunity to threaten the enemy's king!

"This is the seventh time something like this happened, captain. Your playing pattern is too reckless," Enma said as the captain slumped back in his chair. He would likely be defeated in the next two or three turns but he let out an hearty laugh. He was usually the one who forced his subordinates to play with him and beat them mercilessly, what karma.

Their game was interrupted by an approaching bird with parchment. The captain took the parchment and read the message.

I, Lord Tyne of the city of Yonah, hereby declare a state of emergency. An evacuation shall be underway soon, when the time comes I order that the guard and the militia be gathered to guide the people of our city safely outside to the east, into the village of Felshire for temporary housing where we shall remain until it is safe to return. Godspeed.

"Hm, emergency state? This is quite sudden. Enma, let's end our game here. I must prepare my soldiers to move their asses." The old captain walked out of the room in a hurry, leaving Enma rather confused with his last words. Move their asses? She imagined the soldiers making their asses jiggle in unison.

The moment the figure moved Larque charged ahead. His shoulder hit the wall, and he muttered little more than a grunt. Frustration flashed in his eyes. When would Meda grant him powers of such use? Regardless, he needed to pursue the figure.

Only a large figure stood in his way. Larque muttered a curse under his breath. He wasn't supposed to be seen! Though his body tensed his expression remained neutral as he returned Voidbreaker to its sheath. He was thankful that the man didn't appear as hostile. Yet. Should he question this? No, the ritual would cause more suspicion.

"Larque," he replied to the man nonchalantly, not making any intention to shake his hand. It wasn't customary to him. "You're as observant as I am, Uze. And apparently on the same side."

He squeeze past Uze and onto the stairs, another set forming as he climbed up to the roof. He peered into the streets. Where did they go? He hoped they wouldn't be harder to find.

Stepping to the edge of the roof, he peered down, waving to grab Uze's attention. "I've been told they are hostile. That is the extent I know. I hope you are more informed?"

"It's nice to make your acquaintance, Marina Campbell. Your throwing arm is amazing by the way!" Adaline made some space for Marina to make her throw.

"Holy Apollo!" Adaline exclaimed, watching the target hit the very end of the zipline with a small clang. She calculated the distance to be a jaw dropping 150 metres, far exceeding the record of 52 metres. She stared at Marina in astonishment— she would make all the champions of Ares go white with fear back in Athera. Adaline started stretching her neck and shoulders. This was about to get serious.

Adaline got into position. She loaded her crossbow with a second arrow, and aimed at the minuscule target. When she sensed the winds were in her favour, she lifted her index finger and made her shot. The arrow flew with unnatural grace, slicing the air with precise movement. It found its way to the target 150 metres away from the launch point, landing on the bullseye with deadly accuracy.

"Awesome!" Adaline cheered, and highfived Marina. Their small celebration was interrupted by a ghastly twang sound. Adaline looked down in alarm— the crossbow's string had completely ruptured, rendering the device unusable. The crossbow wasn't in the best condition to begin with, and it must have broken from the stress of launching the past two arrows so far.

"Uhm, mister... are we going to pay this out of our prize money?"

In a festival was meant for a populace to celebrate and be joyful. Well Belagar was anything but that at the moment. He quickly leaned back at a wall that layed further away from the waves of people. He would notice the people in these parts, all more calmer then the huge crowds that massed in the center of the city.

Belagar took out another cigar from his bag. lighting it, as he continued to observe the people of the town. As the minutes flew by, Belagar would notice a chess game being held by an old guard and a strange woman.

What had caught Belagar eye wasn't really the old manling, who's uniform had clearly established himself has a guard. But the women.... it puzzled Belagar. He couldn't help but feel suspicious of this woman. He didn't know why, but he had a hunch that something wasn't right with this one.

Belagar decided to observe this strange female manling just to sastfiy his hunch. He continued viewing the game until a bird flew down with a piece of parchment.

This was of little interest to Belagar, since it seemed to do more with this guard than the woman. He saw the guard get up and give his goodbyes as he left to do whatever was in the letter. Belagar viewed this as an opportunity to speak with the woman and see what had gotten him to have a hunch with this woman in the first place. So he slowly approached the now alone woman.

Uze closes his hand and taps it against his chest out of slight embarrassment. "Never again," he whispers to himself as Larque walks off to what he assumes is a search for the shadow. "Well, Larque it's a pleasure to meet you but where I'm from a way of greeting is-" he stops as he notices the man wave to get his attention. He heads over there to look as well. "Well seems like we know just about the same, but I think this might just be a set up of some kind." He turns and points to the entrance. "Now I'm no genius, but even a shadow, none the less multiple shadows, would be able to get past the entrance without one guard noticing, and two..." He changes his finger to the guard tower that's rather close to the building. "Wouldn't you think that guard would've seen at least one moving across the roofs as they weren't that smart to completely hide their presence?"

He walks forward a bit and sits at the edge of the roof. "I have no connection to this world and neither do you, so it's okay if you refuse to work with me for the same reason." He puts his hand out to the crowd and closed it into a fist. "These people are just as real as the ones back at our homes, so I think we should still defend them. So work with me even if you refuse to do it for the people because right now I don't know anyone else I can work with." He raises up and cracks a slight smile. "Plus, you're not as weak as you put on." He mimics how Larque was holding his greatsword. "This might give us more of an understanding why we're here."

Enma

Now that her chess companion had gone, Enma was wondering whether she should go back to try enjoying the festival. A thought she immediately swept away when she saw a man with a stout figure approaching her. If there's something that a companion golem can do better than any other golem, it would be a dynamic facial expression. Enma gave the approaching man a smile as she signaled for the man to sit in the chair across the table.

"Good day, sir. Do you need something? Ah, wait-" She forgot about human manners, she should provide her guest some refreshment. Clapping her hands three times, her maid golem Morrah came into view and stood by her side to wait for her next order. Unlike the human-like Enma, Morrah was obviously not human. It was three-meters tall, has visible steel arms, wears an eerie white mask and possesses mechanical tentacles that occasionally could be seen peeking through its maid skirt. Enma ordered Morrah to hide those tentacles as much as possible since most citizens didn't seem to like it.

"Morrah, give our guest here our best tea, and canola oil for me." The maid golem nodded and whipped out two wooden cups and two metallic cylinders from somewhere behind its clothes. Putting a cup in front each person, it poured steaming jasmine tea into the cup in front of the dwarf, without sugar, and poured a thick yellowish substance into the cup in front of Enma.

Enma sipped the drink. The sensation of natural oil with crude crumbs of crushed seeds was so satisfying for her, a totally new taste! Something like this would never be found back in Machia since all oils were so refined to the point it lost all the taste. Enough about the drink though, she shifted her attention back to her guest.

"Please enjoy. I hope the tea is to your liking."

"Wow, hehe." Serah is enjoying herself upon arriving at the festival. The same goes with Morga and her companions, but not without weird looks from the crowd surrounding them. Just then, the wild woman picks up a refreshing scent from somewhere. Serah takes notice and ask "What is it Morga? Is it food?" Morga looks over to where the scent is coming from and say "Food..." She then commands her wolf companion to head for the direction of the scent, leading to a bakery where a young man is conversing cryptically to the merchant.

"Food smell good. Morga must know." The wild woman said as she approaches the bakeshop, only to stop when she smelled the scent of the man's hair. It's indifferent. She can mostly tell that the man is good, but the quality is not similar to the other people in this world. "What's wrong Morga?" Serah asked. "Man, look funny. He good, he different." Morga answered. Deciding to look into the man further, she sneaks up behind him. Once she got to him, she grabs his shoulders and starts sniffing his hair deeply, much to his annoyance.

Belagar stared at the substance that laid in front of him. He pushed the drink back at the woman and it's mechanical companion."sorry miss, but prefer a good'ol shot of ale. Specifically bugsman's brew".

Belagar took another whiff of his cigar before glaring at the woman with the stoic expression a dwarf could make." Now miss,ya seem to be a bit different from the folks local to this place." Belagar proceeded to point at the golem next to the woman.

"And that friend sorta gives it away." Belagar hunch had grown bigger for every second spent being near this woman. And he will understand what this woman hid that had caused his gut feeling to hit overdrive.

"So.....what's your name miss?" Questioned Belagar as he reclined in his chair, making a quick puff with his cigar.

Taking Uze’s notes into account, Larque’s eyes narrowed thoughtfully. “Maybe they aren’t familiar with such beings in their territory to know what to look for. Unless the guards themselves are shadows…” He shook his head. “This is far more difficult than in my homeworld. I don’t know the laws of magic here. I don’t know what these creatures are capable of, and I don’t think she-“

Larque cut himself off. Even if Uze didn’t come from the world the two of them dwelled in, it was best not to mention his own ties. Should he have even spoke to him? As if Use read his own thoughts, he listened intently to what he had to say. “What is that supposed to be?” he asked as he was mimicked.

His curiosity grew as he learnt how familiar their stories sounded.

“So you weren’t taken here on your own accord either?” His eyes were wide and his jaw hung in a frown. This was an ongoing problem? How curious.

He bit down. “I didn’t say I wouldn’t work with you. I will do whatever I need to for my-“ He paused, trying to find a secret alternative. “… higher calling. And maybe a way back home.” He turned back to the crowd. “And if this is what I must do, then so be it. And if it happens to be at your side, I won’t argue.” His head titled, a subtle glow behind his bright blue eyes. “What do you think, Uze?”

—Mori—

It seemed as though Mori would never know whether the vendor glaring in his direction with a confused sort of exasperation shared his opinion of lavender tasting similar to dreams. Oh well. Not all great mysteries could be solved. Such was the way of life.

Mori sensed a presence staring at him with considerable intensity, though he refrained from turning to face it until the last moments of approach. The eerie boy felt no animosity from this being, one which soon revealed itself to be a rather primitive looking woman who had broken away from her companions. By the time she had grabbed his shoulders and began sniffing at his hair like some sort of lost dog, Mori had already whirled around to face her. While he could have avoided her reaching hands with ease, expending even minimal effort on harmless things when he hadn't eaten for days felt unwise to Mori. Though his large and expressionless teal eyes stared directly into hers, it was as though he was looking right through her and into another dimension entirely... and perhaps he was.

"You are a very funny looking moth," he stated plainly. Mori was used to the winged insects who chose to flutter and rest amongst his raven locks during sunlight hours, but this one seemed a bit confused. He pondered briefly if she'd hit her head some time ago, or had simply been born this way. It wasn't as though such things mattered now.

Pulling his face away from the loud and rather irritating noises, Mori turned his vacant gaze upwards.

"I wonder if fish know that swimming is just flying underwater..." he mused out loud. Though spoken in the direction of the strange woman's human and animal companions, it wasn't really a question meant for them, or anyone really.

After the man pulled himself away from Morga, he begins to speak by calling her a "funny looking moth". The wild woman felt confused at his statement, leading her to say to him "Morga is funny moth? Morga not funny moth! Morga is Morga!" Looks like she has made quite of a ruckus, much to the ire of Serah who would then go over to her. "Hey, um, sorry about my friend here. She's just curious." She said on Morga's behalf "My name is Serah, and she's Morga. Who might you be? You looked like you don't belong here."

The man looks up to the blue sky and said something about fishes knowing that swimming is flying underwater. "I don't know why would you think about that. But fishes are smart, so they wouldn't think if it as such." Serah answered, which is then followed by Morga saying "Fish swim. Fish have small brain. Fish think. Swimming is not flying."

Uze smirks "Higher calling huh.....well I don't know about mine I'm just here to do good" he looks up in the sky and sighs. " The magic though I don't know that well either but it puts more strain on your mind as the energy I get from it is hard to focus as I get a chaotic feel when using magic" he breaks off a tile on the roof and makes it float in front of him. "My magic might work different from yours though as it takes up my physical energy so I can play with tiles and head sized rocks all day" he drops the tile back in place.

"Also how you held your sword was kind of cool but unless it's lighter than it seems I doubt you can swing it effectively like that." he does the position again. "Never mind that though you seem eager as me to know the truth so until then I guess were partners." he holds his hand up for a high-five. "It feels good to have at least one person who I can possibly trust here ."Uze thought to himself. "Though I don't feels he's being completely honest none the less privacy is something of value." he shrugs off in his mind.

—Mori—

The Deathtouched boy blinked calmly at Morga's outburst. So she wasn't an oversized and very confused species of moth? This was a bit of a relief to Mori. He wouldn't have liked being stuck in a world where moths were so noisy and obtrusive. Not to mention, having her land in his hair would have been quite painful and might have even pulled some of it out.

"Morga is Morga," he agreed dreamily. "I am glad you know who you are. Those who lie and change themselves to impress others are such pitiful creatures." With that, Mori reached up to fix his tilted flower crown before it could fall.

"Never apologize for the actions of another, they are not your burden to bear. A curious friend is far better than a dull one, so I am not offended." Mori spoke to Morga's more verbally skilled companion with the same aura of eerie calm, even if she and her friend appeared unable to see the simple logic of his fish-related statement. He wouldn't blame them. Most people did not understand, and trying to force such a thing just wasted the breath of both parties. "My true name was lost along with my memories when I died, but you may call me Mori. It is the name I was given by a kind soul back in my home world... which you are correct, is not this."

With that, the boy fell silent momentarily as he gazed ahead at nothing in particular. Then, in a soft and surprisingly musical whisper, Mori spoke once again... this time in an odd sort of verse. "Birds drown in water, fish die in air. Everyone belongs somewhere, but no one belongs everywhere."

"Nice to meet you, Mori." Serah said until the mood changes when he tells the two who he is. "You...died? But how? And how were you able to be brought back to life? Are you a zombie?" Serah asked, but Morga did not paid much attention to the entire thing. Later on, Mori said something out of a poem. Morga would ask "Mori is okay? Mori speak weird." Serah would be creeped out by this man, but Morga isn't. She is just that very curious.

After he is done speaking, Beck, Morga's crow companion, flies over to Mori and lands on top of his head. "Oh! Beck likes Mori! Mori likes Beck!" Morga yelled, though Beck isn't much pleased with what the wild woman have said.

Enma

"Too bad I only have tea." Enma stared at the rejected tea cup, she was trying to feel something. Disappointment, please come to me. She felt nothing. She felts disappointed that she felt nothing at her tea being neglected, but she didn't realize about the emotion.

The stout man then expressed his reason to approach her, that he thought she was different. Enma tilted her head in confusion, it's one thing to see Morrah and be alarmed, but she was supposed to looks and behaves like human so he shouldn't be able to simply feels that she was different. Though Enma wondered if this was the infamous guts feeling at work. That's one phenomena she couldn't explain.

"Name's Enma. My production code is CO899- I think it's irrelevant in this world." Enma stopped herself before she blurted out the number further. "I used to be a companion golem but now I am a member of the imperial's summoned soldiers. Is the answer to your satisfaction?"

"I already said that I lost all my memories. I don't know anything about it except that I woke up buried in a mass grave and had to dig my way out," Mori stated bluntly, shallow teal eyes unblinking. Poking his face once in slow motion as though to prove he was neither a spectre nor decomposing, the boy then tilted his head in Serah's direction. "Do I look like a zombie to you?" Though his tone lacked expression as usual, there was something almost sassy about his actions. A faint throwback to the person Mori had once been?

Morga's rather simple question caused him to pause in thoughtful consideration. Was he okay? Was anyone truly okay? Mori didn't think so, but then again, he also wasn't experiencing anything particularly unpleasant at the moment... unless, of course, the whole 'waking up in the wrong world' thing was to be considered. "Mori is... as okay as he can be right now," he answered honestly.

When a louder version of the familiar sound of fluttering wings filled his ears, Mori soon found himself with yet another unfamiliar being entangled in his hair. This one, however, could stay. "Hello," he greeted, crossing his eyes a bit as he tried to catch a clearer glimpse of the crow who had decided to visit him. Though faint enough as to easily be missed, Mori appeared to be wearing the slightest hint of a smile. It gave his face a decidedly more youthful and innocent appearance.

"So, this is your friend?" Mori asked Morga, standing quite still as so not to scare or annoy the bird.

Larque found admiration in the goodness of Uze’s heart, feeling a strange feeling inside him whenever he thought too hard on what he was made of. He chose to do good, when Larque was a tool to do good with. That was admirable.

His brows rose as he observed Uze’s magic. While he was curious to know where it came from, he didn’t say. He wasn’t supposed to say here. “My magic takes its toll on me as well,” he said. “It’s just a matter of not knowing when I’ll pay the price. Could be today, for all I know.” He shrugged. He didn't really feel dread regarding that thought. He couldn't change the inevitable, only what he could. There was no point in trying to avoid that.

“You don’t know what Voidbreaker does,” Larque said in response to Uze’s critique. “But I appreciate the comment. And yes, it was more for intimidation.”

“I guess we are partners…”
Larque’s obligatory smile faded as Uze held his hand up. His eyes squinted at it. “What is this?” he queried. “Some form of pact? A signal? Do you want me to… do something with your hand?” His gaze averted to Uze, frowning out of embarrassment. He wasn't sure if this was universal, and if it was he was about to humiliate himself further.

The Crossbow broke in Adaline's hands, but the arrow flew straight and true, 'THUNK'ing into the target that Marina had sent careening off into the distance. The arrow had hit while the target was still moving, too. Most impressive. Most of her knights couldn't have come close to making such a shot.

The stand manager was staring at them, wide eyed. It was clear he had not been expecting that.
"So. Do we win the extra prize money? Fifty gold coins, yes?" Marina asked, "Or do we have to challenge this Lord to a more formal contest?"
"Ah, well." He paused, as if thinking. "You broke the crossbow so you're.... Disqualified!" He said, eyes darting back and forth between the two of them. "Sorry. Ah, haha," He regained his composure slowly, the red in his face fading. "Sorry. But those are the rules."

"I'm sure they are." Marina said doubtfully. "Tell me true, vendor. Are you really going to break a promise to such an adorable young girl?"
"She broke the rules." The vendor said, coughing into his hand. "Sorry. Blame her if you want to blame anyone. If anything you should be paying me for breaking my equipment!"

Marina leaned back and cocked an eyebrow.
"Excuse me?"

"B-but I won't. Because I'm feeling generous."

Marina shook her head. It seemed while they had a higher population of exceptionally skilled individuals here, people's moral fiber was not noticeably improved.

"I don't quite understand the currency in this world yet, so perhaps its merely because I don't understand how much or how little fifty coins are, but I can't find it in me to fight you on this. I bid you and your false tongue good day." Marina sighed, and turned away.

"Well...erm...no, actually." Serah said with the slightest regret for asking that question. However, her suspicion still sticks, so she'll keep that personally in her mind. When asked about Beck, Morga answered "Beck is Morga's friend. Beck don't peck. Beck pecks on enemies." The crow companion would then hop off Mori's head and land on his shoulder. "Beck thinks Mori is interesting. Morga thinks same." Morga added before turning to her wolf companion and say "But Garo don't think Mori is interesting. Garo thinks Mori is boring. Mori not boring. Garo not interested in friends."

For the wolf companion itself, Garo quietly growls as it approaches Mori with a stern look. "Mori be careful. Garo can bite." Morga warned.

Sapphire to Tano. "So you are poor.. Oh boy... I think we started this conversation very wrongfully. So clears throat what is your purpose here Mr.?" still holding a dagger to his throat

Tano: "If I answer your questions will you leave?"

Sapphire: ''Maybe... You've got nothing to lose.''

Tano: "You did not say yes. I am taking that as a no, and we have nothing more to discuss."

Sapphire: ''Okay Mr. No-fun-at-all. I promise that if you tell me, I will leave.''

Tano: "How wishy-washy. I don't believe a person like you can keep a promise... but to my people, promises are sacred. If you break yours, the spirits will know."

Sapphire: ''If I would ever break a promise, I would surely kill myself because of it. Believe it or not. The promises are indeed sacred where I come from.''(edited)

Tano: "... I am going to raze this city to the ground, and piss on its smoldering ashes. Is that answer enough?"

Tracey indeed had the intention of fulfilling her promise. Alas that was not what was to happen. While slowly walking away ,the woman stopped for she noticed a parchment of some sort. torn in half. She picked it up and briefly looked around for the second half which she then found. Putting the pieces together... She found out about the horrifying truth they are about to face.

''I, Lord Tyne of the city of Yonah, hereby declare a state of emergency. I order that this bell shall be rung five times to alert the public the presence of a Uryan threat in or near our community, and for our citizens to evacuate as quickly as possible with the guidance of our most noble militia. Godspeed. ''

''... Uryan threat...'' She uttered to herself. The air began to feel colder and her attire felt heavy. She was nervous. More than she ever was. A great amount of stress overwhelmed her.
While still invisible, the brown-haired woman looked at the bell. A standard bell with a rope hanging from it. If she wanted to ring the bell, she would have to go back to that man and the creature. That's where the rope ended. A puzzling situation indeed.

The man. What is his deal? Why is he helping the enemies of our race... She looked at the bell once more ''... We are only as good as the actions we take... or.. was it paths? Never-mind... Feck it.'' With that said she in a sweet rush scaled the tower. During her climbing she thought about all those people enjoying the festival. The sky shined with a blueish shade of black while the starts assured her of her decision. Finally, she got to where the bell hanged. ''Here goes nothing you son of a bitch!'' She yelled and kicked into the bell with all her might.

And the bell tolled once.... Sapphire was shocked that she was able to do it. Even in her head it felt like a bad idea. The bell was huge and it seemed like a normal person would never stood a chance in making it toll by kicking it. The strength? ''What just happened?'' Tracey looked at her arms and legs. ''What is happening to me ? ... Father?!''

Adaline's eyes lit up with admiration at how well Marina handled the situation. She's so cool. She then glared at the game master, who was still laughing awkwardly. What a cheat, Adaline thought. Well, it's not like I desperately need the money, but still. She looked over to Marina. I feel awful— I should make it up to her.

"Hey, Marina!" Adaline waved at the woman docked in armor who was beginning to walk away. "I'm sorry about what happened back there. People these day, huh. How about I make it up to you? There's a bakery just down the street that's well-loved by the locals. It'll be my treat!" She grabbed Marina's arm before she could give an answer— Adaline could sense that she was one of those people who would politely refuse. She wasn't letting her get off that easily, plus, she wanted to know more about this mysterious woman.

"Hi there! Could we get a table for two?" Adaline waved at the baker. He nodded and a waiter came right away to get the two guests seated. He brought two menus for them to browse, and then walked away to answer a customer who raised her hand.

"Wow, these look great!" Adaline beamed. Strawberry shortcake! Triple layered chocolate pudding! Is that even a thing?

"Before I get too carried away with the sweets, can I ask you a question?" Adaline looked around to see if there were any customers that would pick up on their conversation, and then leaned in. "Are you a champion like me? Or perhaps were you dropped into Sheol out of nowhere like I was too?"

"High-fives which you might think seems point-less is actually rather nice to have when you have built a bond with someone and you can use it to greet each other." he raise his hand and claps his palms together." That's a high-five but there's also a handshake too but that's more formal than a handshake and you would usually use that to somebody you've just met." he extends his arm like he did before but used his hand too shake the extended one."See not bad right unless your afraid of touching other people." he raises his hand again in a high-five position. "So how about we try that ag-" he hears a bell toll." “High… five…” Like the Quinnate? Listening to Uze’s explanation, Larque realised that was clearly a wrong assumption. He could see the appeal of such gesture, though not being the most social person saw little appeal to it himself. “You’ll be pleased to know that I am not startled by contact,” he added.

Larque’s head shot up at the sound of the bell tower. Uze seemed to think that was linked to the shadows, but he wasn’t sure himself. That wasn’t to say he didn’t have faith in Uze, but that sound could’ve just as easily been a diversion. However, he could use one of his gifts to their advantage. “You can go ahead,” Larque told him. “I won’t be far behind.”

As Uze walked off Larque dismissed his staircase with a swim of his hand. He kept to the next rooftop, pinning himself close to it. His eyes closed and he muttered in his native tongue. “Al ferra sans, tou ferra inquarno. Al ferra sans, tou ferra inquarno.” The quiet chanting continued as he lay face down on the tiles, calling on the power of his patron.

One minute ended. His white skin darkened. His whole body darkened. Voidbreaker disappeared. He appeared almost formless, but at the same time had a shape

Larque became a shadow, identical to the one he saw. He crouched on the roof, keeping a close eye on Uze as he made his way to the tower and keeping an eye on any other shadows that might notice him. It could draw suspicion on him from multiple parties, but he could slip out with ease, change his form in the shadows and act as a witness. He had done that before when parasites invaded Corryn, and he hoped the same could work in this unknown realm.

The girl was a whirlwind! Marina found herself dragged behind the surprisingly strong young woman, and before she knew it she was sitting down, menu in front of her, a barrage of questions thrown at her face. She was a little shell shocked.

"Champion? I don't know if thats a title I can rightfully claim here in this new world." Marina said, frowning. "But... Yes. I am not from here. You were, as well? I've only been here a scant few weeks. I'm still trying to acclimate myself. How did you find yourself here? I'm not quite sure myself, I was quite literally... Dropped... Here as well." Marina said, unconsciously rubbing her neck.
She looked down at her menu.

"Well, it's not a good Yudal Stout, but I haven't seen this many sweets for a long, long time. One of my knights... Erm, a friend of mine was once fond of chocolate. We would go to a bakery and I would get some tea while he would buy the chocolate cake with chocolate icing and sprinkles with chocolate shavings. I suppose I'll get that today."

Suddenly, a bell began to ring, high and away. Marina cocked her head.
"I wonder why the bell? It hasn't ring on any other hour I've been here."
