I know Ashy is on board, but how do the rest of you guys feel about reordering the lab kids' numbers according to arrival at the lab?

Autumn has been there since she was a baby, so not sure what number that would make her

SavannahSmiles SavannahSmiles Autumn would be in between Sophie and Koki, my character.

So far, until we get more characters, the order is:
Milo
Wallace
Sophie
Autumn
Koki
Tartak

Aaaahhh!!! I've switched my little bean's name around so many times trying to find one that really fits him, but I think I've found it at last.

I guess I'd better stop referring to my character as Three if there's a chance we're swapping numbers lol. Anyway, here's Koki's opinions on the rest of the lab kids:

Autumn: SavannahSmiles SavannahSmiles
So, as I was reading the personality section of her form and came to the part about her hiding behind a sibling while peering at a stranger, I immediately thought of Koki as the person she'd be hiding from. XD Since she's a gentle soul, I think he may come off as a little overbearing to her. He's one of the youngest lab kids yet he has a big personality, inserts himself into the middle of the action like the world is his stage, and if there's nothing currently happening, he creates the action. He's very outgoing, has little sense of boundaries, and is prone to making meeker personalities his "minions" on his fun-loving (and oftentimes dangerous) shenanigans. As for her communication style, Koki is probably mostly used to it by now since he's grown up with her for like 12 years, but if he doesn't know that she's there and she starts telepathing thoughts into his head, it will scare the ever-loving shit out of him. Koki also has a penchant for stealing more tranquilizers than the lab staff allots the kids, so if he's hella tripping he may be unable to distinguish between Autumn's telepathy and the multitude of demons yelling in his head.

Sophie: Svnny Svnny
Koki will definitely be intrigued by Sophie's power. He's a highly spiritual individual and believer in Shinto, so he'll refer to her spirits as "kami" that she summons from another world. He understands her ability to communicate with them as a blessing, showing that she's holy or "chosen," and as such he'll show Sophie a reverence that he definitely doesn't show to those in legitimate positions of authority. Koki may even ask her one time just after they escape to try to summon his mother or father's spirit, and when she's unable to do so (because they're still alive), he will be very confused and hurt to know that they gave him up. I think we plotted earlier that maybe Sophie had snitched on Koki either hoarding tranquilizers or almost getting away with an escape attempt? For which he would have been punished, but he wouldn't hold any bad blood about it because he venerates Sophie as holy. He would probably justify it as "everything happens for a reason" according to the kami's will, but he most likely would not extend this philosophy to other people who wrong him.

Wallace: cyberzkull cyberzkull
Aaaahh oml I love your bean so much and this is a hard one because he's so complicated! K like I said originally, I can definitely see a rivalry between Koki and Wallace, because Koki likes to call the shots and Wallace is quietly dominant without others realizing it. Koki may feel threatened or even a little afraid of Wallace if Wallace targets his insecurities, because Koki hides it pretty well, but he has strong abandonment issues. He was just old enough that he remembers his parents and life outside the lab in glimpses, but it's going to be a big source of shame for him that his parents didn't want to keep him and that he's fundamentally unable to fit in with regular kids. However, if Wallace isn't being a menace that particular day, I can see the two of them bonding over cards and maybe video games once they learn what those are, because Koki loves the thrill of competition. But there will probably always be this underlying tension to their interactions as they each struggle to come out on top, until they embrace it for what it is and make a game of it.

Gonna have the RP thread up as soon as we get a few more characters! If anyone has any friends they'd like to invite, you would have my eternal gratitude!

Ashy_OCdesigns Ashy_OCdesigns Three will prolly be a little off-put by Tartak's feral proclivities. Like if Three mentions the word "boil" in conversation and Tartak starts hissing at him, Three will be a little like O.O and just back away slowly. Three isn't big on confrontation so if he gets hostile vibes from Tartak he's just gonna avoid him. Depending on whether Three likes his sense of humor Tartak can earn some points with him and maybe they can bond over that, because Three enjoys intelligent humor. Ngl Three is gonna get an ego boost just from the fact that Tartak is shorter than him because he may be the only lab kid who is. Three also enjoys interpersonal intimacy in casual interactions, like he enjoys getting to know people on a personal level just through everyday conversation, and he's prone to flirting without meaning to. So Tartak might in turn be off-put by him for this reason, and Three may sense he's making Tartak uncomfortable by his avoidance of eye contact.
Tartak sounds like this when he hisses like a cat:

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to write two characters equally well?

Make sure that you feel equally invested in your characters, and put the time into developing both of them. I find that coming up with different hobbies and interests and using Questions of The Day is a really great way to round out the personalities of multiple characters and help separate their identities.

question of the day: how quiet is your character's footsteps? (no other ideas right now)

Twelve habitually walks very quietly and is a rather silent person in general, but he will change it purposely for various effects, such as if he doesn't want to startle someone or if he was planning to try and sneak out, so he wants them to think he walks loudly. It's natural for him note to observe how others walk. It's something that he was trained to notice so that he's able to blend in better through mimicking the gait of his 'guise. It's also useful for trying to follow a target by becoming familiar with how they move.

Laurel walks quietly enough that people have actively considered putting a bell on him, but he can't control it and is a naturally quiet walker. It's ironic, because he's much friendlier. With Tartak, it's like:"Did someone open the door/ walk past?" "Yeah, but it could be anyone." So, Tartak has a gait that sounds like it could be a stranger, if that makes sense.

Alrighty. I'll ask a Q&A:

What Pokémon starter would your character choose?

Abyss Abyss I'm getting Empoleon vibes from Three. They're both menaces inside and out, plus Three is most definitely a water type.

If no one else posts a WIP form before Sanctuaryforall1 Sanctuaryforall1 finishes up their charries, I guess let's start the RP thread! Y'all on board with that?

I’ll try to finish up my two CS, and then I’ll be ready to go!

Abyss Abyss I think One would be Cyndaquil. Generally shy but lethal when cornered. They also both spend much of their time curled into a ball.
