A family heirloom given to her once she turned eighteen, a blade she has learned to wield as if it were an extension of her body (she had been taking sword-fighting lessons since she could hold a blade). The family blade, named Calcifer:

A snarky, stuck-up set of parents raised a child with exactly the same personality traits. As she was trained, Ch'era betrays no emotion, especially during combat, and always regards other vampires of pure blood with respect. Anything below them is treated with condescension, even though she personally only finds humans to be the stranger and more alien-like species of the two. She prefers to focus on her studies, on her combative abilities, and avoiding head-on CQC due to her lack of strength. She uses Calcifer to protect herself and to protect those weaker, despite her distaste for anyone below her. Lastly, Ch'era could open up to someone, but it is unlikely to occur immediately. On the inside, she wants to be her own person, to be the best warrior she can possibly be, and to prove to her parents that she can be more than just their puppet within the House of Hollomere.

History
The House of Hollomere has been present for centuries with one of the many royal vampire bloodlines in existence today. This House in particular hosts only vampires and will do so for the decades to come, due to the carried down traditions; humans are meant to serve vampires as food and slaves, not allies in arms, despite the creation of Vanguard. Tradition has always been demanded in the home, causing the childhood of Ch'era Hollomere to consist of fulfilling her duties as the upcoming head of the house and learning the proper etiquette for surviving the world she was born in. At age five, she learned how to wield a blade and mastered using several different blades as she grew older, the bright young vampire naturally having the skill of swordsmanship, as it ran in her blood. From age ten and so forth, she was given duties around the House and tailed her parents, watching their every move as they taught her the ways of their ancestors, who were killed by humans, back when the two species were at odds.

Due to the murders of her ancestors, Ch'era was brought up to believe that humans were dirt, unworthy of even the attention of the Purebloods. Vampires that mingled with humans and had children with them were of the same stature and not at all to be considered familial. Once a vampire mingled with a human, they were dead to the other physically superior creatures - at least, that's how things were run in Ch'era's household. From birth her parents knew that she was destined to bring the world to the way it should be, their beliefs reinforced by the intelligence of the young vampire female and her remarkable skills. Rather than spending her time with other children, Ch'era remained hidden away in her training and her studies, learning everything she could about the outside world and everything she needed to know in order to survive, to best her foes, and even her parents when she sparred them.

At age sixteen, Ch'era had molded her body into the perfect weapon (with the extension of her temporary blade aiding her in her fights) by focusing on her speed, agility, and her stamina: her parents often set up situations that she knew nothing about in order to help her practice thinking under pressure, as well as find ways to escape without harming those coming after her. She learned how to incapacitate her foes without dealing killing blows,
even though she was not afraid to do so, and used the combination of her speed and agility to help her tire out her foe(s) or confuse them. Since she had done so over the course of many years, Ch'era was able to build up her stamina and spend more and more time out on the practice fields of her home.

However, as she continued learning about just how horrible humans were, how to fight, how to be the noble she was born to be, Ch'era quickly became bored with staying within her home. What began as her first few nights sneaking out of her room on the top floor of a four story manor quickly became a nightly endeavour as she visited numerous locations while she was out and about, such as libraries, shops, and the works. She avoided humans as she was meant to and looked at them with nothing other than disgust, but was absolutely fascinated by all of the things she was able to see when her parents weren't hovering over her, similarly to how she treated them when she was a child (for a different purpose, of course). It didn't take long for Ch'era to become interested in Vanguard,
and the sights (and smells) of the various Rot that lingered farther from the civilization she inhabited repulsed the regal female, giving her an idea to become part of Vanguard.

Her parents were infuriated once they found out about her expenditures during the night and even moreso when the topic of the Vanguard was brought up. At this point, she was nineteen years of age, had gone through the "passing down of the sword ceremony" and already had all that she needed to follow the path she was intent on pursuing. The beliefs of her family remain instilled in her brain, but the white-haired female told her parents with
a light in her heterochromic eyes that she was going to live her life the way she saw fit. Her parents reluctantly agreed, since they did not want to lose the heir of the home, but it wasn't going to be the same after she left for Vanguard.

His pureblood family had always been well respected but Alois was nothing like his traditional father. He often left home for adventures and would get into trouble in his attempt to have fun. No matter how many times his father lectured him on proper etiquette he was still proud of his sons skill when it came to his fighting ability and the technique that was passed down his family.
It changed when Alois had his first encounter with those affected by the Rot. He was exploring a small forest and was attacked by a Rotten. Alois took some damage from that fight because he had no real battle experience but was able to discover his love killing the enemy. In an attempt to correct Alois' behavior, his father made the decision to send him to the academy and that it would be a place for him to put his excess energy in a productive way.

Mason Q. Patch | 18 | Male

Appearance Description: Unkept, his hair grows quickly and curly. However, Mason does his best to maintain his dark hair as a short undercut. His tired-looking eyes are dark as well, with hints of green creating a hazel color. His face is narrow and squared, complimenting a narrow and lean physique. He has a piercing in his ear and prefers to wear dark colors. If he dresses to be warm or cool, he'll prefer to be warm.
Hair Color: Dark brown
Eye Color: Hazel brown
Skin Color: Light olive
Height: 5'10" / 178cm
Weight: 140 lbs
Daily Attire: Any variety of dark, comfortable clothes, similar to this.

Magic Abilities:
• Blink: the mage uses a set amount of magic to teleport a certain distance nigh instantaneously. The longer the distance, the higher the cost.
Technological Equipment:
• A high tech spear that can shift into a sniper rifle in a span of 4 seconds. It is rather bulky and heavy for Mason, so he rarely uses it as a spear. He has to custom make his own ammo for it, as well, though he may make it to standard in the future. The weapon does not have a name yet.
Strengths:
• 20/10 vision: this is better than normal and makes him an excellent and observant sniper.
• He's above average in gun handling, but has some more to learn.
• Intelligent: in the mechanical sense. He made his own weapon, for example, and can fix machinery if he's given some time with it.
Weaknesses:
• His weapon takes a relatively long time to change: 4 seconds is a lot of time in combat
• Being a bit of a nerd, Mason has never been physically stronger or faster than his peers
• Although able to use magic, it is very difficult for him and he often feels discouraged from using it.
• Book smart Mason is, street smart he is not. He can be gullible and clueless at times.

Personality: Unlike the typical loser nerd, Mason is as engaged and extroverted as he is intelligent. He likes being around others and learning about them and their lives. He has a literal sense of humor, and it's easy for some jokes to go over his head making for a bad sense of humor. Regardless, he is friendly and seems to recover quickly when he slips up in social situations. Going along with that, he doesn't like confrontation and backs down when intimidated; but he won't refrain from mumbling snarky, passive-aggressive complaints.
Likes: Scarves & winter fashion, smoking, designing new weapons, most people, the color black
Dislikes: His magical incompetence, being alone, bright and annoying colors, cold weather
Goals: Mason has multiple goals. He'd like to grow physically stronger and perfect his own weapon further by improving its transformation time and weight. He'd like to create weapons that can enhance and interact with magic. He'd like to improve his handle on magic. Overall, he'd like to contribute to the defense of earth against the Rot.

Fears: Mason fears failing at the Academy. He fears being disliked or alone. He fears making the wrong decisions in life and death matters. He fears vampires, as well, especially since he'll have to work with them. He feels pressure of living up to his brother's name for his parents and Reiner, but this manifests as more of as an anxiety than a fear.

History: Mason was an accident to his parents, born well over ten years after his older brother, Ray. Regardless, he was loved and cherished as the baby of the family as he grew up, making him relatively sheltered and spoiled compared to his brother. Even as a small child, he had a knack for putting things together: building blocks, Legos, log cabins, etc. He liked to build and create new things. His father owns an autoshop, which is where he spent a lot of his childhood, learning about cars and how they work.

When he was still a child, his brother was recruited to fight against the Rot. When his brother died doing so, however, the family was devastated. Mason's parents grew even more protective over him. He fought against the grief in his own way, however, and dove into his studies as he grew. His grades, projects, and volunteer work throughout middle school and high school would earn him multiple awards and scholarships. His intelligence and book smarts was attention grabbing, to say the least, and through it he realized he wanted to wanted to help make the world a better place.

What he understood to be because of his achievements, he was approached by a vampire named Reiner toward the end of his high school career. He learned from him that Ray had been his partner when he was killed in action. He hadn't been approached because of his success, but rather because of something much more personal: after losing his brother, Reiner had wanted a new partner in Mason. Surprised and shocked by the news--especially from a vampire--Mason took some time warming up to the idea. Eventually, though, he decided that if he could be grow to be what his brother had wanted to be--a defender against the Rot--he could make the world a better place. Surprising his parents, he left for the academy straight out of high school.
Gonna have to say no on the shapeshifting weapon. Sorry. Please choose something else.

You need to change the thing with the leather boots. That is not physically possible. Also, the mask is a no go. And no, "magic" is not a valid excuse.

Personality needs to be more than 3 sentences.

The goal doesnt really make sense. He already lost his memory.

Casual clothing, often ones of unisex cutting. Occasionally, he does decide to emphasise his feminine build a little bit more by dressing in female clothing.

Skills/AbilitiesMagic Abilities (max. 3)
Gale specialises heavily in Aura magic, using it to ensure his partner is protected, as well as dealing heavy amounts of damage at all times, while having a card up his own sleeve to deter possible interference. As a classic power player in Arcane magic, Gale prefers incantations over runic magic.

●Barriers:
Gale creates a powerful protective bubble around his target. Rudimentary and simple, but strong enough to hold against most attacks from the Rot, or at least soften blows significantly.

●Empower:
Gale enhances his target's weapon of choice, allowing them to cut deeper and hit harder. Also a simple spell in practice, but effective as all hell.

●Destruction:
Gale's own form of self-defense, where he summons a magic circle on a surface (including the air) to fire a large beam of concentrated magic forwards in a short blast of about 5m range, a magical shotgun blast, to put it crudely. The incantation is significantly shorter for utility purposes, and the actual damage is quite trifling. The resultant concussive knockback, however, can toss the target backwards, allowing for easy escapes.

Technological Equipment
Postavlyat Ustroystvo Mana Dogoda-13 (Dog13): A mana supply system that collects and filters mana from its surroundings, developed by Dazbog Co. It is less efficient than the Drain spell, and takes over a day to recharge fully. Upon deploying, it restores 30 mana to the user. It resembles a capsule about 15 cm long and 5 cm wide, and operates on a rather long-lasting battery. Chargeable and noted to be quite a l sturdy piece of equipment. It is considered a staple equipment for both beginning and veteran mages of the great Motherland. Affectionately termed 'Doggy' by many users. Gale has three of his own personal supply.

Postavlyat Ustroyvsto Mana Dogoda-13a (13A): An offshoot of the Dog13, created purely by accident, and was later used anyway as proper equipment. The 13A is a highly unstable version of the Dog13. It resembles and operates exactly like the Dog13, but instead of supplying its user with mana, it instead releases a large amount of mana in a small area, allowing mages with the Drain spell to restore their mana. The 13A has been modified to have a larger capacity for such utility, but has not been fitted with a faster absorption machine, making it charge at a rate of 100% slower than the Dog13. Gale has only one of these, gifted to him as a present from a visit to his father’s workplace once.

Samozaryadnyj Pistolet Triglav (SPTriglav):
A semi-automatic pistol created for the sole purpose of aiding mages in the combat zone. As a norm, it fires 9mm rounds, allowing for proper combat without mana. It, however, also comes with pre-loaded magazines of mana, which can be filled by the mage using it, or by other means, such as the Dog13. Also a staple of Russian military magic troops. The mana shots are as lethal as they come, perhaps even more so than their 9mm counterparts.

Strengths
+Naturally talented in magic
+Deceptively strong and pretty damn quick from actual physical training during high school
+Able to keep a level head, even in the most stressful of situations

Weaknesses
-Not very sturdy despite his strength, making him quite the glass cannon
-Prioritizes Ellise over everyone else, making him quite unreliable at times
-Unconsciously emotionally dependent on Ellise. May lose direction in life without her.
-Actually despises the military life. Not one to try and perform above passing standards unless it is an actual mission.

Personal InformationPersonality
Gale Ainsmith is a man of many masks, charismatic, flexible, and able to be as many people as he so chooses to fit the atmosphere. A sweet-talking, extroverted flirt of a lady who charms the men, a polite, silver-tongued gentleman who plays the ladies, or a well-read military scholar who holds no interest in anything but several topics of magic and warfare. Gale is a natural entertainer, and can hold a conversation for hours, if he so chooses, participating in any talk whatsoever on any topic.

His true face, however, is a loyal friend, and a loving son. To those he is close to, he acts much more naturally around them. Where his jokes can be forced and his smile set convincingly in concrete around others, it is much easier to see that he beams much more genuinely around Ellise Volkov and the Ainsmith couple. His brand of humor usually revolves around overly dramatic recitations of popular poems and plays, and trying his hardest to make Ellise crack a smile of her own is one of his life’s goals. He calls his parents often to ensure that they are alright and doing well and occasionally sends them some cash their way.

He has long stopped caring about his physical...disabilities. To insult him on it would elicit a response of wanton uncomfortable sexual advances, extremely uncomfortable baring of skin, and the sultriness of his voice turned up all the way to 11, just to show just how high he can take his acting ability to make others squeamish. It is unwise to try and test him. Thankfully, not many know of his actual gender...

Gale is also known for an uncanny ability to remain calm and collected even in the heat of the situation. As soon as he fixes his hair and the band he wears on the side of his long hair, he is able to focus entirely on his task at hand without distraction. Even as hell comes to earth around him, he is able to remain cool and unfazed, and can recite his incantations perfectly even under extreme pressure. He feels fear like any other man, but his sheer determination to see his job to the end pushes that fear back until he is finished. It is only after the ordeal is over that he lets himself collapse and breathe a sigh of relief. This is the kind of man that Gale Ainsmith is.

Likes
+Ellise
+His parents
+Pretty clothes
+Shopping
+Magic
+Spicy food
+New tech and weaponry

Dislikes
-Threats/insults aimed at Ellise
-Salty food
-Fish
-Deep water

Goal(s)
To ensure the safety of his closest friend for as long as he lives and breathes.
To ensure that his family is happy and comfortable.

Fear(s)
Ellise Volkov coming to any harm.
Dying.

History
Joshua and Elizabeth Ainsmith were both mages of high accord and status in the cold wintry land of Russia, one an esteemed researcher in magitech weaponry, and the other a powerful mage by her own right. And they both loved each other very much. These were Gale Ainsmith’s parents, and despite their working hours in the military sector, both still managed to set aside time to take care of their child and attempt to raise him well. It didn’t matter to them that he was born unnaturally frail and thin, that he went through his entire life never ever looking like the boys in his class, or even that they often, if not always, mistook him for a girl. Hell, even if he had never grown up loving his father’s work and exploring the possibilities of his potential in magic, they would have loved him all the same.

Gale was strange, physically. He had nothing. Sure, he had a penis, but that was all. His shoulders were only slightly broader than his hips, but his build was slim enough that it was easily hidden by loose clothing. He never developed breasts for obvious reasons, but these were times where under-developing women were a common thing, not at all strange. While initially worried, his parents sooner or later realised their son was more than capable of handling himself at school, even if it meant acting like the other sex. At school, at occasions, he could turn up the charm of either gender, flirt, and get along well with either sides, but at home, he was their son, a filial, loving, kind son.

He fell in love sometime in his teenaged years, with a girl who hated men. A girl who never saw him as anything but Gale Ainsmith. Sure, she thought he was a she, but that was purely semantics. She never really wondered about the world, a naive girl new to the world at large. He never really called anyone a ‘friend’, and kept to himself, even when socialising. Ellise Volkov, however, was someone he just couldn’t ignore and leave alone. He made a childish pact with her to be her friend, in exchange for homework he had forgotten to bring, just to keep an eye on her. Through the years they spent together, he never left her side, and his heart soon became hers, though she would probably never know it.

During high school, he realised that he wanted to do more for Ellise. There were small periods of time where he left her side, in the hands of capable acquaintances, or when she was at home, to practice more on his magic, to one day wield it in her name. Even that was not enough. He tired easily, and, realising that this was possibly from the fact that he exercised little during his early years, he planned and scheduled out a strict training regimen for himself. There was just no way that he would let Ellise be the strength of their partnership forever. He maintained his slender build- the training was not severe enough to change it, but was sufficient to improve on his stamina and strength.

When they finally graduated, Gale was quick to disagree with his parents when they asked if he wanted to join the military, preferring instead to try and land further education in a foreign university. He was convinced that was what Ellise would want as well. Much to his horror, she decided to sign up as part of the Vanguard forces. Wasting no breath, he followed suit after her, insisting to her that yes, this was what he always wanted. This was a cross he was willing to bear. Anything for her.
I already told you what to fix. Go ahead

The reson that Ofelia is now so lonely and anti-social is because when she was younger she tried to be friends with everyone... but she was different to everyone, The girls never liked her because she wasn't girly and the boys didn't like her because she was a girl. 〉 Height: 5'10"
〉 Weight: 140lbs
〉 Attire: Lawrence doesn't tend to pay attention to detail in his attire, rather wearing simple clothes (that tend to show off some skin). He might prefer sleeveless tops, robes and loosing fitting clothing. Lawrence certainly prefers darker coloured clothing.
Not too foolish enough to enter battle without proper armour, or at least parts of armour, Lawrence will come prepared with; a breastplate, gauntlets and greaves. If supplied complete armour, it is certain that Lawrence will wear it.

▮ Skills / Abilities
〉 Traits: Enhanced Strength
〉 Weapons(s): TBA
〉 Strengths:
1. Endurance; At least in a physical sense, Lawrence has unknowingly built up high endurance to hard larbour and physically straining activities.
2. High Pain Tolerance; Though having a high tolerance to pain since his youth, Lawrence can deal with minor and major wounds with a calm exterior.
3. Level-headed; Due to his natural calm nature, Lawrence isn't one to become frightened, intimidated, or flustered about a situation. He tends to act almost soothingly, and in an irritatingly calm way.
4. Rational; Not one to take risks or impulsive actions, Lawrence knows when to retreat, rather than going all out in a last ditch effort that has a possibility of succeeding. Lawrence will only do something if he feels as though it is guaranteed to succeed.
〉 Weaknesses:
1. Speed; More muscle power focused, Lawrence has a great disadvantage against foes who are focused in speed advantage. It will certainly be hard for Lawrence to keep up with them.
2. Quick Wit; Though rational and calculating, Lawrence has slow reflexes and has difficulty adjusting to fast paced combat. He best be hoping someone has his back.
3. Sensitive Touch/Physical Contact; Finding physical contact to be a thing that leaves Lawrence tingling, shivering and blushing, it would be easy to use his sensitive touch against him.
4. Strategy; Lawrence has never been good at constructing plans. He easily falls into being a follower a lot more than a leader, for Lawrence's not so confident abilities in strategy will fail him greatly. Just give him a job to do, and he'll do it.

Fear(s): Mummy dearest. End. Of. Discussion.

History: Gerard is the eldest of the Slepnine line of Purebloods, his father Riften was a gifted entrepreneur a business man with suave, intelligence and dedication to his business, that built housing for humans and funded welfare charities across the globe. Gerard as a child took little interest in that and his father was more often than not, away from home working with humans on defences and catering. As such Gerard was left in care of his mother, a feisty woman, violent and rich, so very rich. It made him laugh as a kid, he wondered if that was the reason they stayed together? When Gerard was 13 his mother taught him things, things men should do but he knew now that was why women were so very much stronger. His mother versed him in simple hand to hand as a younger child, teaching him History and associating him with a human family. One that was entwined with his History, both rich and friendly. But as Gerard as he grew and so did his abilities, training got harder and his mother's brows harsher; he often was faced pain and bruising as a mid teen and stuck in a never ending circle of confusion. However Gerard lived for the moments he could go out into the world and do something different with his life, he watched ballets and fell in love with the little things in life. He spoke to Maya more and the two were closer, like friends, squabbling over who looked better in pictures but sooner or later his mother enrolled him here, The Vanguards and he was placed with Maya.

"Resilience is the key to mastering any art, no matter how tough things seem as long as you keep getting back up? Nothing will be able to keep you down."

Skills/Abilities-

Magic Abilities:

-Pyromancy: An ability Yume has demonstrated great talent and skill at over her years in training, refining the art of fire creation and manipulation to as best she could to this point in her life. This is by far her strongest ability and the one she focuses on the most.

Drain: Though not near as perfected to the level of her pyromancy its still a skill that she learnt, though hesitant at the urge of her grandfather.

Side Note: Once entering her teen years Yume has shown the potential of being someone who could gain skill at elemancy but as of yet has refused to pursue the subject further.

Technological Equipment:
A pair of gauntlets that though have no magical properties are sure as heck better and hurt a lot more than flesh and bone.

Strengths:
Fire Affinity: Yume has always felt almost connected to fire, a strong pull lured hr towards studying it arose to all other options of magic at a young age and to this day she continues to show skill beyond her years at the means of casting such magic, however her control over it can fall out of balance when she tries to push her boundaries too far.

Physical Strength: Yume's childhood training that still continues has upped her physical strength to a high peak, not more so than any other human but certainly above the average.

Attack Power: Yume's abilities give her an incredible offensive front, allowing her to take out enemies without too much of a sweat as long as they don't land too many hits on her first.

Stubborn Resilience: Mentally Yume will keep getting up over and over again, you could beat the girl to a bloody pulp and she'd still try and get back up to punch you a good one, her never fleeting sense of determination keeps powering her on no matter what.

Positive-Aura: Yume's bubbly and overly cheerful/optimistic personality tends to rub off on those around her, her playful and fun-loving ways can't help but make most smile, especially her more clumsy and amusing moments.

Weaknesses:
Too Focused: Yume focuses entirely on what she believes are her strongest traits, leaving her weaker aspects open for the hitting.

Close-Combat: Yume's magic works best in closer range to the enemy plus for gauntlets as a fall back mean she must be resealable close and in somewhat of a danger-zone to fight.

Un-stealthy: Yume's abilities are loud, bright and attention-drawing, needless to say stealth isn't exactly her thing.

Taking hits: Despite yume being able to hit hard and do solid blocks she can't take a direct hit well and it wouldn't take many to take her down if she couldn't fire or punch back.

Clumsy: Yume wasn't gifted with grace nor elegance, she has the tendency for her clumsy streak to come out sometimes in the worst moments.

-To become the best pyromancy user in the world
-To help in battle against the rot

Fear(s):
-The Ocean
-Thunderstorms

History:
Yume was found at abandoned in front of her grandparents dojo when only a few months of age, barely old enough to understand what was going on in the world around her, so innocent and so young, so fragile and delicate. Even to this day nobody seems to know what happened to her parents, where they went when they mysteriously disappeared that spring day so many years ago, the rustling of the trees so soft and yet the wind that night blew cold.

Her grandparents took her in and raised her as their own, her grandmother a caring a kindhearted woman and though the same could be said for her grandfather he showed it in his own kind of way, that which involved training her to become the next heir to their family name, the next in line to inherit their families history of great warriors and now with the rot- someone to protect those who needed it most. She was to begin learning as soon as she was old enough to at least mimic the action of a punch and strong enough to stand, from the very beginning she showed an immense talent for pyromancy, mastering the art of creating the flame quickly, but controlling it was a whole other matter.

She trained hard every day in order to repay a non-existent debt she felt she owed to them for taking care and raising her in their old age, for giving her a home when she had none and no matter what she was determined to make them proud. As she grew up she made many friends in the small village, it wasn't isolated so to say but a decent ways from the busy cities which though made them less of a target, it meant that when attacked they had to be ready. They played together and learnt together, shared dreams and goals with one another and all were accepted and given kindness there. Only two vampires lived within the village however, a pureblood and a thin blood who were apparently a couple, they were nice people but for some reason Yume always felt uneasy around the pair, smiling awkwardly and on occasion shooting them a wave before quickly scampering off with the rest of her group.

When in her pre-teens she'd made up her mind in going to join the battle against the rot, now even more determined than ever to try her hardest and work to her best capabilities in order to defeat the newfound enemy of mankind and vampire kind alike. After all- even if no one would say it…. She had her suspicions of where her parents went. But even with this thought she still continued to be hopeful that they were out there somewhere and maybe, just maybe if she became famous enough of a pyromancer they'd find her, and as such she wore the name of Kasai proudly in hopes of one day being reunited with them. It was also around this age that she began to show small signs of elemental magic potential, something that though her grandfather was curious of and nodded her towards following on with it she kindly denied, instead choosing to focus completely on the one she'd been learning her whole life, and now with the addition of drain to keep such a mana-consuming power fuelled.

But as for what happens next? Who knows….

General Info (Work in Progress)
Name:
Kamiya Akihiro
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Marital Status: Single
Race: Thinblood Vampire

Appearance Description
1353695-bigthumbnail.jpg

Above -
Akihiro in combat attire.

Hair Color:
Black
Eye Color: Blue
Skin Color: Pale
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 156 lbs
Daily Attire: Shuu's daily attire consists of a black windbreaker, red shirt, and khaki pants for most occasions. For much more casual events, Shuu downgrades to graphic tees usually plastered with art from currently running anime and shorts.

Skills/Abilities
Traits

- Heightened Speed: Akihiro can move faster than a normal vampire, flying around at speeds close to 150 mph when at full capacity. With more blood consumption, he can move faster at speeds over 180 mph.
- Heightened Information Processing: Akihiro's mind is trained to process information taken in with his senses at lightning fast speeds, making the world around him appear to move slower than the average person. With more concentration and a larger blood intake, Akihiro can focus harder and perceive the world at slower times relative to everything around him.
- Decreased Strength and Durability: Due to his nature and training, Akihiros lacks in the departments of physical strength and durability compared to other vampires.
Weapon(s)
- 2x Z1919 Handguns - Akihiro's staple weapon. Due to his strength being only a few notches above an average human, Akihiro relies on firearms to supplement his attacks.
- 1x RaT Magical Revolving Rifle - A weapon that can only be used when Akihiro is connected via The Link to a magical user. Akihiro gains the ability to access a limited number of spells imprinted on the runes on the rifle.
- mAtA Grenades - Multipurpose explosives that can change firing modes depending on the users preference. Among these firing modes are Explosive, Stun, and Smoke.
- Adjustable Length Sword - Self explanatory. Its a single bladed sword with adjustable length so that it can be stored away in a bag easily like a pocket knife.
Strengths
- Combat experience - As Yamada Hanako's bodyguard, Akihiro has practical experience in fighting human and vampire combatants alike.
- Marksmanship - Akihiro is an expert marksman and has reliable aim around 30 to 70 meters meters with his pistols.
Weaknesses
- Extended Melees - Due to having lower than average strength and durability,Akihiro relies on his fights ending quickly. A physically stronger foe that can outlast him in a close quarters situation will surely win if they can burn through his stamina.
- Yamada Hanako - Akihiro's devotion to his duty as her guardian puts him at a disadvantage as it becomes incredibly predictable figuring out what his next moves are.

Personal Information
Personality -
Akihiro is a very laid back person. Preferring to not worry too much about life because he's very content everything the way it is. He always prefers to resolves conflicts without having to resort to violence. Not to say he is a complete pacifist as if the situation calls for it, especially any where Hanako's life is threatened, Akihiro flips the kill switch from light hearted vampire to deadly killer.

Goal(s) -
Fear(s) -
His ultimate fear is living a life without Hanako. She is one of the greatest parts of his life, and a future without her is one that's not worth living for him.
History - Born into the Kamiya family. Akihiro's duty, destined from birth, was to be a loyal guardian of the Yamada clan. This progressive family pioneered Human-Vampire relations in Japan through active cooperation with the Yamada clan over two centuries ago. By becoming their guardians and hit men, the Kamiya family greatly strengthened the grip that the Yamada family had over the criminal underworld of Japan. Akihiro's birth was the result of a closely knit relationship with humanity being a thin blood vampire.

From an early age, Akihiro was trained in the martial arts and was groomed to become a warrior for the Yamada clan. Compared to his other family members he was the runt of the pack, severely lacking in pure strength that his median vampires brothers and sisters had. He was close to quitting until one day he met the daughter of Gin Yamada, Hanako. The two became close friends over time. The two played with each other and created a close bond that could not easily be broken over the years.

Through her friendship, Akihiro was inspired to train harder to overcome the obstacles that stood in his way. Over time he proved to be the deadliest warrior of his generation as his indomitable nimbleness and speed made him difficult to fight against. In addition to this, his close bonds with Hanako grounded him in reality on top of his thinblooded-ness made it so that he rarely ever lost control of his senses and fell into a beast state, even when pushing himself to his blood consuming limits. Because of this important relatioship, Akihiro was deisgnated to become Hanako's personal guard by Gin Yamada.

Now Akihiro heads to the Academy with Hanako to continue his service as her guard as well as become a student in the art of war to combat the threat of The Rot.
Ill tell you how fast your character is running around according to the CS.

Also, the time perceptiom thing is a very interesting take on enhancing perception. However, there are two problems with this. The first being that it would alter your PERCEPTION of time. Not time itself. So dont think you will be doing some matrix shit either. You could, in theory, combine the two abilities for a deadly combo but thats putting yourself at great risk to frenzy. Even as a thin blood.

The second is that such skill in perception would make that your character's main trait and speed would be very secondary. You wouldnt be running a third of the speed you put down.

So you gotta pick and choose. Specialize in on or the other or both suffer but they are relatively equal

kk. though I should clear up the perception trait up more. its like time passes normally for everyone else, and he sees everything in slow motion. its like the quicksilver scenes in the recent xmen movies, just minus being able to move at relativistic speeds.

I know what you meant by the perception. Im saying you cant have good speed and such great perception to start

Ah ok. I'll keep the perception then. You can decide how to treat the speed. I probably won't level perception too mich between time skips compared to speed.

She's also a bit of a prankster, pulling small, usually harmless pranks on her friends. While she tends to go overboard at times, she will try to make it up to anyone she has wronged.

But deep down, Ann is a very lonely person with deep seated commitment and confidence issues. She manages to hide it well by putting up a happy and bubbly front but it cracks when she's under pressure. All this linking back to her past bullying by other kids.

History:
Annaliese Cromwell, or Ann as she'd rather be called, was raised by her single mother, Marie, until about the age of 5 when a bad fever claimed Marie's. Since she never knew who her father was, she was sent to a government sanctioned human orphanage. While she never really found out, she was the one responsible for her mother's death after she sacrificed her well being by withdrawing blood to feed her child. A fact that the matron kept hidden for Ann's own sake. But the entire time, Ann had a feeling that she was different.

Her food was different, she was kept away from the other human children, and it seemed that only the caretakers were nice to her. Despite her attempts to make any friends, the kids were either fearful or downright cruel. She was called names, bullied, and even had her few belongings vandalised. But despite all that, she soldiered through thanks to her own tenacity, wits, and the occasional fist fight. Her caretakers are at wits end on how to deal with the bullying when a solution arrived.

Every few weeks or so, a couple of Vanguard soldiers would visit the orphanage to interact with the children. For them, it was to remind them of their reason for fighting. For the children, it was a chance to meet their saviors and heroes. For Ann, it was the first time she met a vampire, a snarky and confident one named Axel Lorenz. He and his partner, Julia Valois, first noticed Ann standing a little distance away from the other kids and approached the shy girl. 'First contact' didn't go as planned with Ann biting Axel's hand but the next few attempts by Julia came through. With Axel's help, (after another minor fight) Ann slowly learnt to get used to her vampire abilities and find her true identity. Ann finally had people she could confide in the form of Brother Axel and Sister Julie. She would eagerly await their vists for Axel's stories and Julia's mostly edible cookies.
Axel never came again.

To say that she was heartbroken would be an understatement. Ann was devestated when she finally learnt of his fate but she remembered his advice: "Its always darkest before dawn, so cheer up kiddo! And keep that head held high!" With that little gem of advice in mind, Ann decided to join the Vanguard. To protect the world she was born in and to honor Vanguard's sacrifice.
think alI already accepted this but ill do it again just in case accepted

You need to change the thing with the leather boots. That is not physically possible. Also, the mask is a no go. And no, "magic" is not a valid excuse.

Personality needs to be more than 3 sentences.

The goal doesnt really make sense. He already lost his memory.
Fixed!

Also! finished the second chapter finally, the end is bland but everything I really like

•Armis provides extra protection against Rot. With specially mixed alloys reinforced by a layer of ballistic rubber it's capable of softening blows making it more difficult to be incapacitated or unavailable for combat.

•In addition to armor protection the Armis also houses fabricated muscle working more effectively with Silentium to provide the least amount of fatigue possible; aiding with typical movement such as running, jumping, pushing, pulling, etc.

•Dampeners in the boots also help make freerunning movements feel effortless by providing extra padded comfort in all of the jointed areas and at the soles of the feet.

•Magnetized weapon holsters for locking weapons into place effortlessly

Not out of loathing or any particular reason for that matter; simply because hardly anyone speaks to him - given his size, species, and appearance. He doesn't mind the solitary though and often thinks of it as time to work out personal thoughts or turmoil. He's the type of guy that once you get to know him you realize he's like anyone else. He's got a more social side to him despite his recent past that leaves him open for intelligent and open minded conversation rather serious or not.

Draining arguments that lead to nowhere, one sided fights, excessive talk for no good reason, his past, the current state of the world, and eating the same thing all the time.
Goal(s)
Play an important role in the fight against the Rot, forgiving himself, even out character flaws, die for a purpose, live for something more.
Fear(s)
The whole damnation and fall of humanity, dying before doing anything important, living in solitude, not being able to forgive himself.

Story of Exile

Chapter 1 † Sanguinem Nativitatis "The Beast"

Before this tale begins † sit back, get yourself something to drink, go to the bathroom. This is going to be a long one....

Had the Nativitatis's known the monstrosity they would bring into the world - they would have strangled the child in it's crib. The story of Sanguinem begins on a cliche` dark and stormy night. The Family's castle shook with the force of thunder threatening to destroy the beautifully hand painted stained glass from millennia before. The bright pounding of light put the candle's to shame in strobes of brilliance. Through all of the noise and chaos a cry could be heard, a cry which did not stop for weeks. The vampire offspring contesting the ruckus that shook the foundation of his room. His parents lovingly stuck at his bedside.

"Only a few more weeks."

The mother looking up to her partner with a proud smile.

It hadn't seemed like much time at all before Sanguinem began taking his first steps. He proved to be a strong boy, headstrong and reckless as he learned the ways of his body and the physical limitations of our world. Quickly - Steadily he found his bearings.

"A strong boy, he will turn out to be quite the adversary to all that oppose."

A father's approving nod and gentle push before Sanguinem stood on his own walking from one side of the room to the other without the handicap of either parents.

"I think it's time."

When he first arrived his mother's blood was enough nourishment to grow and become a boy, but as all happy stories this one must come to an end. The following fortnight Sanguinem sat in his room shivering, sweating, clawing at the stone walls that held him prisoner.

"FATHER WHERE HAVE YOU GONE!?"

He shouted - trembling the walls and slamming his fists against it's hard surface until his hands were a bloody mess. It was then that he witnessed with his own eyes the true ability of vampires, the one that allowed them to live much longer than any human. His skin began crawling back together at it's splits and he watched in awe, completely entranced by the new experience. It was dark in the dungeon and hard to tell what was happening but he could feel it - his eyes having not developed all of the way yet.

A couple nights later a commotion could be heard from outside his dungeon. Quickly he ran to the door wrapping his small hands around the bars attempting to get a better look at what was happening.

"FATHER IS THAT YOU!?"

He pleaded, his father did not answer. A few moments and the clatter of whatever was going on had gotten louder, closer. His hands gripped tighter around the iron. His father appeared in the hall of the dungeon dragging with him a woman dressed in nightwear, clawing at his father's hand that held the woman's hair firmly as she was drug helplessly through the corridor. The dungeon door swung open with enough force to knock Sanguinem back, luckily he stepped out of the way just in time. His father threw the woman into the room and slammed the door shut peering through the small iron barred door of his room before speaking the words that would inevitably lead to much misery.

"Eat! You need your strength for what's to come!"

Sanguinem didn't know what his father meant as he turned to look at the lady. However it became apparent as she scooted across the floor further and further away from him, eventually pressing herself into a corner.

"Please don't hurt me, p-please you don't- I have a family please don't look at me like that"

His curious but threatening gaze was upon her, he sniffed the air it was ripe with something decedent and mouth watering. His eye sight had finally come to him so he could see clearly now. He cared not for the emotions that scattered chaotically across the woman's face, there was a stirring inside of him one that evoked his primal instincts. He wanted to bite her, to feel her writhing in his arms, to feel her life go before him. It was unquenchable. He inched - painstakingly slow, towards her. With every step he took she screamed just a bit louder her pleas echoing horribly off the walls. He wanted to savor every moment of this, to enjoy it. There was something maliciously satisfying about the way she tore at nothing knowing her fate was locked in this moment forever.

"Stop screaming."

He pounced on her, being half the size she was but incredibly powerful. The strength of a Pureblood made it easy to put her soul to rest and to quiet the horrified screams he would never forget. As the warmth rushed into his mouth, he drew her body in closer gripping her tighter and tighter with her every movement like a boa, squeezing the life from it's pray. His senses overwhelmed him and he couldn't stop feasting, he couldn't stop gnawing at her neck trying to get more out of her like some kind of tossable.. She had been cold for hours before he finally stopped barring his teeth and finally came to his senses.

He got up stunned by the corpse in the corner of his room. He fled to the locked door and cried out for his father once again.

"Father! I've finished! Can I have more!?"

He wasn't hungry anymore but he enjoyed the feeling that experience had given him. It aroused something addicting.

His father came only a week later, opening the door for Sanguinem. Staring down at him with cold analytical eyes, they sat upon his own for a long time before his father snapped out of his thoughts and looked up to the ragdoll of a woman who'd been torn to bits from boredom and hunger. Bits and pieces of her lined the stone walls. He covered his mouth for he'd only seen such behavior in feral males who lost their minds, it was tasteless, grotesque even, there was no rhyme or reason to it. An abomination of the elegance and discreet tact of their family bloodline.

"Father what's wrong, I did as you asked... please let me out, it's stinking up the place like this..."

His father had become enraged at this statement slamming the door leaving Sanguinem alone once again. Only to come back a few moments later with a wash bucket and a rough brush. He slid the bucket into the room with his foot like Sanguinem was some kind of crazed animal, he closed the door abruptly and shouted through the window.

"I WANT EVERY INCH OF THAT CELL SPOTLESS, YOU'RE NOT COMING OUT UNTIL YOU DO SO."

So with a few hours of scrubbing and discarding of the loose pieces in the bucket he was finally done. His knees rubbed raw from the constant swaying motions. However after a few moments of standing up none of that mattered as he felt his skin heal, and with the wounds disappearing so did his pain. Pain from the hard stone floors.

"Father it's clean can I come out now?"

Months had past before his father finally allowed him to leave the house, and even then it was under supervision from him or his mother, always. They taught him about feeding regularly, who to feed on so he wasn't captured and killed, taught him of the humans cultures, introduced him to the expansive library his family had accumulated over the years. He eventually succumbed to reading books about human anatomy, honing his hunting skill. Only as time passed he began making further and further out gambles. Becoming more and more reckless again it wasn't long until townsfolk caught on and began following him back to the castle early morning. Tensions grew higher and higher as the town became more and more afraid.

"They're invisible, as black as night! The castles been there for hundreds of years! I hear they cut you open to watch your own heart stop beating! I've even heard that they plan to kill all of us!"

Sanguinem's murder spree went on for a decade; rumors were what ignited the final spark, the Frankenstein like story of man creating monster and monster terrorizing the people. Soon the whole town was up in arms. Firearms, cannons, anything they could get their hands on before storming to the castle seeking revenge and crucifixion of them all. Sanguinem's mother and father pleaded with them but it was of no use, the entire town wanted them all dead. So they did what any sentient predator's would do...

An entire town disappeared, like a ghost town in a single night. Only the desperate carvings of fingernail to wood and blood whispered the events that took place.

After the family had killed all of them they sent Sanguinem away to dispose of the dead. All night and all morning it took until his limbs were so weak, his mind so empty, and his eyelids too heavy that he finally managed to dispose of them all. He returned to their home but upon pushing the gigantic front doors open with a loud wooden creak and clang did he realize.... his family was no longer there, he spent hours searching the castle high and low desperately trying to think of something else, any slight trace of them. Even the library was gone. All that remained was a singular letter on a small round table as if to play a centerpiece in the main hall of their massive home. He picked up the letter; exhausted and with a heavy heart; he read the following words to himself inside the confines of his head, no one around to listen.

full

With nothing left he began pacing, wondering, asking, questioning... everything. Was his life real? Did he cause all of this? Did his family really despise him? What does it mean to be exiled? Why did anything matter? Why was he here?

The thoughts spiraled, and churned his stomach until he felt as if he'd throw up all of his internal organs, his throat was swelled tight fighting back the tears of disbelief and pain. How would he go on after this? Why was he such a monster!?

Again and again the ideas spun, taunting him and picking at his insanity threatening to break him and break his mind. He roared the force of a hundred years behind it this time. The stained glass above the main hall shattered sending flicks of colorful light across the interior. Today would have been a nice day, the warmth of the sun and calmness of the winds. But his family had left, never to be seen again. He raised his fist still gripping the folded letter and brought it down onto the marble counter. His hand making a sickening crack as the bone protruded from his wrist, the table having been vanquished and laid scattered across the Great Hall's floor. He slumped onto his back side and began weeping uncontrollably. He lay like this for a few hours coming in and out from waves of disillusionment about life, family, existence... His arms loosely by his sides as he stared way up to the top of the castle's ceiling.

He brought the hand which had been broken a few hours ago up above his face as to examine it. Lost in morbid thought and disassociation. He let it fall and watched it land with a soft bounce. Through his tears he noticed something that stuck out against the marble floors. It was a book. He quickly got on his hands and knees to crawl over to it, he opened it and began examining it's insides. Before long he found himself engrossed within the book unintentionally having lost track of time. The sun was beginning to set and as he came too he slammed the book on the floor with force.

"Your teachings are worthless now..."

A few days passed as he sat in the corner of the grandiose building. He was starting to get hungry and with all the townsfolk rotting underground their blood would be spoiled and he'd purge it back up the second it hit his stomach. He knew this from experience a few close calls to Feral as he'd been. This time was different however. He was actually running out of it, time that is. He finally brought himself to pick the book back up after an hour or so of fighting with his thoughts. Once he opened it again he started to understand what the book and his ancestors had tucked away inside the marble table all those years ago. It was the holy grail for vampires. Blood sickness remedies, downers, uppers, common animals that could be preyed upon, and lastly... a page ripped from what appeared to be another grimoire. A page heavily encrypted but caught his eye still, he felt the universe pulling him to find out what it's context was...

Chapter 2 † Silentium

So now that we are well acquainted with our antagonist of this protagonist it's time to move forward on our journey...

Sanguinem stood hunched over the stump of a tree drinking from a rat he had captured earlier in the day. On the trunk of the tree laid a open book. He had a handful of herbs and began eating them like a wild animal. His eyes were fixated to the pages of the grimoire. Stopping only to eat, drink, and relax himself. The herbs on hand were good for reducing appetite according to his findings.

After a few weeks had turned into a couple months Sanguinem finally stumbled upon something that would serve to propel him into a journey he never would have thought he'd experience. Between long nights of hunger and fighting the urge to frenzy; rolling feverishly on the ground for hours his strength was dwindling.

What he found in the grimoire was a cipher a wheel of all knowledge he'd need in order to decrypt the hidden messages scrawled across it's pages. He found the wheel secretly stitched into the cover of the book after he'd accidentally fell asleep and left it partially uncovered. He was in a bad way and decided to put an entire couple of days into finding out what it was saying to him.

After tireless trying and time he broke the code. The information underneath the information was even more intriguing than he had originally hoped for. It spoke of magic, training to help keep the beast at bay, and items of immense power. His eyes gleamed with curiosity as he read page after page over again revealing each of the pages missed words.

After a few hours had passed he learned of a place that was mentioned quite often and seemed promising for vampires struggling with their beast and their frenzy. The only problem was that... it appeared to read that the place was far away to the East and was run by humans.

He felt the rage in the pit of his chest inch upwards.

That's when he decided to get up and begin his journey to the spoken place. For many weeks he trudged on, a giant peopless stretch of land covered the distance of a long walk. He was growing tired but whenever he stopped he felt the rage's edge bite at his conscious and take a step forward. His body was beginning to mutate, wounds began opening all over his face and body. He kept pressing forward.

It wasn't until the 12th day that he stumbled upon something that nearly cut his foot off. A sword buried within the fallen leaves of a dirt road. The sword was of extreme elegance and didn't look like it had been used for battle at all. It wasn't until he saw his family's crest that he realized what it was. A family heirloom. A wave of sadness washed over him as he dropped to his knees holding the sword in his hands and staring up at the sky. The morning still wet from the dew and a fog that covered for as far as he could see. He weeped like a child calling out for his family.

The sound of horses snapped him from his tears and back into survival. He got up carrying the sword with him onto the side of the road into some woodland growth and waited. After a while a dark outline could be seen of a carriage. When it approached he lunged from the wooded area with enough force to put down a horse and topple the carriage, he bit into the writhing horse quieting it's movements. The occupants of the carriage fled screaming for their lives. He remained on the road feasting.

† Months Later †

After months of travel by foot, sneaking onto people's transports, and sitting in bars to get an idea of where everyone was going he finally looked a bit like himself again. All of his vampire heritage had reseeded. The scars of his wounds remained but he wasn't bleeding any longer. He sat, cloak thrown up over his head in the tavern, listening to the music of men and the chit chat of barmaidens with the tavern's occupants. Rumors of monsters and power always circulated these places hardly any of it was true or valuable information.

He put down his cup along with a few bills of "Acquired" currency before stepping out into the evening air, the moon at it's fullest shining brightly among the stars. He smiled softly to himself before nodding and making his way onto the road.

"Where you headed stranger"

Sanguinem felt the icy grip of frenzy creeping up his back, this had been the first person to talk to him in nearly a year. He paused unsure rather to turn around or not, instead he turned his head still covered by the cloak.

"East... what's your business?"

He heard the footsteps approach slowly, cautiously. They were suspicious as well, were they an authority? Did he have a bounty on his head?

"Well... we don't get new people around here a whole lot. I do trades in the East, to put it plainly I transport goods."

The frenzy began receding now. Just a nosy local.

"The East? How far do your travels take you?"

There was another cautious pause before the person spoke again.

"All the way to China, why? Do you have business there?"

Sanguinem turned slowly pulling the hood up even further to shadow his face before aligning with the local. A man, average built, average height. He didn't look threatening and seemed to not hold any weapons. Perhaps he could help Sanguinem.

"Yes I'm traveling there to... find new hope"

The local tipped the brim of their hat and nodded.

"No business of mine but if I bring you along, you gotta promise not to make any trouble. Hows that?"

Sanguinem nodded

"Alright come on now, let's get ya where you're goin'"

He followed the local back to the bar where he had a couple of horses and a trade cart sat next to the building. He climbed up into the back and waited for the local. After a short while they were on the road again, grateful to finally be off his feet and headed exactly where he needed to be. How could this night get any better?

He dozed off a couple hours later only to wake up by the local jabbing him.

"Alright time to eat, you like steak? I assume you take it raw"

Sanguinem's skin crawled and he quickly jumped up ready to pounce on the human at the slightest sign of hostility.

"WOAH HOLD ON NOW! I just saw your face this morning when I pulled off to take a leak... you really aren't from around here. I won't bother you but... calm down and get your ass over here to eat."

What was this? He was a vampire and the local clearly human. It didn't make sense... every time he encountered anyone human they'd screech and run away. But this human... knew? And wasn't running? The thoughts raced through his mind as he approached the makeshift campsite with a fire going, the area covered in a light layer of white snow.

"I know what you're thinking. Don't worry, I know it's odd to get this kinda treatment from a human, sit down. We can talk about it after we eat."

Sanguinem sat down wrapping his cloak around himself a bit more the cold starting to nip at him. The stranger handed him a slab of raw meat, and so he took it from the man gently, and began eating it. He'd never tasted anything like it before... it was moist with blood but... flavorful like a real meal... he ate a bit too fast and choked on a piece accidentally.

"Slow down, it's not runnin' away we've got plenty more..."

Sanguinem glared at the man, but started eating a bit slower returning his gaze to the steak.

"Just sayin'."

The rest of their meal was relatively quiet and once they were finished they threw the makeshift plates made of flat rocks onto the fireplace before standing up and getting back onto the transport. A long period of time passed without word or discussion, Sanguinem felt a bit agitated... lied too. Why hadn't the stranger told him the reason he hadn't run off? Was this real?

"Anyways... as promised... As I mentioned before I'm a trader, which means I do business with all kinds. Short, skinny, tall, big, round, gruesome, royal... and occasionally... the mythical creature. I'll tell you though..."

The stranger let out a small laugh.

"First time I ever came across a critter I never seen before... boy did it scare the bajesus outta me. Yep, think I scared it as much as it scared me. Luckily tho... just a small thing... gremlin or something. Took off like a bat outta hell."

The space between them filled with an awkward silence that prolonged until the stranger finally spoke up again.

"Ahum... so uh... where you from?"

Sanguinem didn't say anything. The memories of it all jabbing at him constantly, he didn't want to discuss it with someone he'd only met a few hours ago.

"Alright, that's fine. I won't bother ya none."

He folded his arms infront of him to rest ontop of his knees. He did appreciate what the stranger had done for him though, and the manners the stranger had.

"Thank you.... for the food I mean."

The stranger chuckled.

† 1 Month Later †

"Hey now, so I'm gonna run in and grab us some food. Don't go gettin into any trouble. This is one of my best towns, just keep your head low and don't ask anyone any questions. I'll be back in a jiffy."

Sanguinem had become accustomed to these frequent stops however due to them not having any food left his appetite was edging on the brink of feverish again. He hadn't brought any herbs along. Foolishly enjoying the meals without thought of his health. He sighed and turned, but in the next moment he had been knocked to the ground and was looking up at the faces of a few drunk men.

The men looked different from the stranger he had been with, and they were speaking a language he didn't recognize. They began shoving each other until one pulled out a knife and started yelling. Then in the eeriest way possible the strangers stopped speaking and slowly looked down at Sanguinem, their gazes paused on the vampire for a few moments before one of them turned and laughed and saying a few words. The others shrugged and before long they were grabbing at his legs and trying to hold him down.

"HEY!"..."HEY!"..."YA'LL STOP THAT!"

But by the time the stranger had got there it was too late, the man with the knife sunk it into Sanguinem's abdomen, which ended with the man being ripped in half and tossed like a dead fish across the road of the small town with his friends running off and screaming.

"HURRY UP! GET YOUR ASS ON BEFORE SOMEONE SEES!"

Sanguinem jumped on the back as they rode off out of the town. After a long time and a dead silence between the two of them the transport started slowing down and pulled off to the side of the road. The stranger stood up and got off, coming around to the back, he reached inside a brown paper bag and tossed a raw steak wrapped in parchment paper onto Sanguinem's lap.

"Alright friend, this is where we part ways. That steak should last you a week, if you follow this road on up you should reach the place you're headed by the end of the week."

Sanguinem hesitated getting up for a few moments, staring at the steak with tears starting to well up in his eyes.

"Ah come on now, don't be like this. Look if you're worried about what happened back there... don't be. I don't think anyone saw us and I'm not mad. I saw what happened. Anyways on the other hand if someone DID happen to see, it'd be best that we weren't seen together. I don't think anyone would put me in jail on the account of ripping a man in two. Look at me~"

The stranger laughed again.

"come on out before the authorities catch up with us. We're on China's border. I know you're hungry - best eat that steak now."

Sanguinem cooperated climbing out of the back and dropping down onto the muddy road splattering his boots and cloak with a rich brown.

"Thats it... alright, I gotta get out of here before someone sees, take care friend. Maybe in another life"

He stepped forward as the stranger got aboard the transport again.

"Wait! It was an honor... what is your name?"

The stranger tilted the leather long brimmed hat as a farewell before snapping the horses to life.

"The name's Helsing, HIYA~!"

Just like that his human companion rode off into the distance.

† 1 Week Later †

Sanguinem collapsed unconscious on the steps of the Shaolin Monistary having exhausted all of his stength and willpower in order to get there with only a sword, book, and the clothes on his back. His unconscious body lay there for quite some time.

It wasn't until a few hours later when a couple of young looking monks, dressed in bright orange, stumbled upon him. They both sprung into action running to his side and picking him up with surprising ease considering they were much smaller than he was. They carried him along the temple's exterior until they came to a door. After a few moment he was carried inside a stone room and laid him upon a rug along with his sword propped up in one of the corners. They left the room closing the doors behind them.

When Sanguinem finally awoke in a violent fury'd rage launching him at an older bald man who was in the room with him. He didn't remember much just launching himself at the man and then blackness.

A few weeks time passed before Sanguinem awoke to an older man wiping his legs down with a wet rag. He sat up in shock the older man quickly looked at him and paused, before going back to trying to wash him. He shouted at the man.

"Stop! Where am I? Who are you?"

The old man shook his head and stood up slowly. A tired but joyful expression on his face. The monk looked at Sanguinem and started speaking an unrecognizable language quietly and with humorous undertones. He laughed at Sanguinem, pointed at him then made a fist and knocked on his own bald head a couple of times before bending down to retrieve the water and leaving the room.

Sanguinem sat in the corner of the stone room silent. Pondering the events of what had just occurred. He remembered falling and everything going black as he reached the temple, and remembered a sliver of when he woke up in a violent rage. He sat in the quiet until it almost drove him mad. He got up and walked from the room to the outside. All of his senses were on fire blinded by the sun, his ears ached from the chirping of hundreds of birds, his smell overhwlemed by a peculiar scent. In a moment he collapsed to his knees the ground stabbing into his palms

He stayed motionless staring at the texture of the ground.

Soon he stood up having found that his senses had adjusted to all of the commotion of the outside world, peculiar thing though he didn't feel the frenzy gnawing at him like it had been when he'd arrived. He didn't have much time to think about this before a younger monk approached him and signaled Sanquinem to follow. He did as instructed and followed the child into a courtyard. Beautiful with well maintained plants and raked sand in intricate patterns. A pleasant sight to say the least. Following the child further they approached the central structure of the temple and walked up the steps barefoot. The interior was wide open and as they went inside, his eyes adjusting to the break in sunlight he saw the same old man from before cross legged in the middle of the room with his eyes closed, fingertips pressed together. Surrounded by sticks that streamed smoke upwards. That's what the odd scent he smelled, had been.

A long moment of silence as he stood there with the child waiting for the old man.

"Should I-"

The child cut him off by placing a finger to his lips signaling Sanguinem to be quiet. They stood there unmoving and silent for the longest time before the old man finally opened his eyes and stretched, pushing himself from the floor to stand. He looked at the two of them as if he'd known they were there all along and put his arms to his side and bowed halfway before standing again. The young child returned the bow and Sanguinem followed suit. In what seemed like an eternity the old man finally walked over to the two of them. With Sanguinem's grimoire in hand, extended, offering it to him before speaking. Sanguinem was about to get angry before the child spoke up.

"He says you come from a far away land. He wanted me to translate so you could understand. He says to take your book back and to not be angry with him. He was only trying to see why you had come such a long ways. He says he understands now."

Sanguinem hesitantly took the book back from the older monk. The older monk nodded his head energetically a couple times before smiling. He began speaking once more and so did the child.

"He says you are welcome to stay here, for as long as you like. But you have to respect this place as if it was your own. He knows you're a violent man, and he knows you've done bad things. He says this is a place for anyone that wants to learn, not just the kind hearted. He says that if you wish to learn about the things in that book that you have to discipline yourself and it will take time getting used too. He says we can leave now."

With that the child grabbed Sanguinem's hand and led him down the stairs of the temple once again. Not speaking until they were back to Sanguinem's room.

"If you want to learn to control it, you first need to erase your thoughts. Instead, focus on your breathing. Close your eyes and get comfortable. We call this meditation here. It's best if you start slow."

The child didn't look at him the entire time he spoke and left, closing the door behind him. Leaving Sanguinem to his solitude.

His thoughts began spiraling again what does he mean focus on my breathing and erasing my thoughts? How is closing my eyes supposed to help... it's not going to make me any less hungry. The child's words echoed through his head before he finally realized he was doing the exact opposite of what he'd been told. He sighed and relaxed his muscles before sitting on the floor as he saw the old man do.

"Okay... focus on my breathing... and then... what...?"

He brushed the irritation of the situation aside and again refocused himself. He closed his eyes and listened to the sound of his own breathing and began counting them. Starting from 1, going to 10 and repeating. Before long, what can only be described as a pulsating of consciousness, began happening. It was relaxing, and hypnotic. He allowed himself to slip deeper and deeper into it. It wasn't until much later that he finally opened his eyes, and when he did there was a plate of food infront of him. He felt abnormally hungry. He reached over and picked up the bowl of white grain like particles and began eating it. They were bland and unappetizing but he had become so hungry he didn't care, it wasn't until he reached the bottom that he found a few pieces of raw bloody meat and quickly put those down. However doing so seemed to do nothing but exasperate the way he was feeling.

He stood up and left his room, it was still daylright out. He approached the courtyard and followed it to the temple where the old ma was sat down, quietly meditating once again. The child was also there infront of him meditating as he did. Sanguinem sat with an urgent feeling patience that edged to the surface with every moment which passed. It wasn't until the old man opened his eyes that Sanguinem felt relief. The older monk stood up and bowed to him, and he returned the gesture. However this didn't help as he quickly realized he wouldn't be able to speak to the monk without the child's aid, so he was forced to stand quiet until the younger monk had also completed his meditation session. After formalities and the younger monk had come to greet him did he finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Please you have to help me, I am very hungry."

The child looked at the old man and spoke in the foreign language briefly. Before looking back at Sanguinem.

"Would you like more rice?"

Sanguinem looked at the boy confused, rice... what was that?

"The white stuff in the bowl from earlier."

Sanguinem turned his face up at the boys suggestion but he spoke once again.

"You are the only person here who gets raw meat, it's expensive and hard to come by. We are saving it for you so you can maintain your strength."

The old man nodded but this didn't sit well with Sanguinem and he began shouting about being hungry and how it wasn't fair for them to keep food from him. The boy spoke more sternly this time.

"He says there are plenty of others without food, and no one asks for more. You have come to our home, you will only get this one chance. If you wish to live the life you worked so hard to run away from then leave. We do not wish to have your demons as well."

It was these words that finally calmed Sanguinem down, the young monk was right. Who was he to come into someone elses home and demand things, things he'd done nothing for. It was ungrateful, and rude. He quietly nodded and bowed to the younger and older monk.

"Yes I would like more rice."

The boy smiled and left the temple briefly leaving him and the old man together alone. The old man bowed to him once again and began speaking to him.

"I don't understand what you are saying..."

The old man stopped and shook his head laughing about something. When the boy had finally returned the old man had left to the courtyard, rake in hand he was weaving the sand from front to back, carefully watching his steps. The young monk offered the rice to him, and Sanguinem bowed thankfully and sat down in the courtyard to eat. Something odd about today was that he saw no other monks like he did when he first awoke, just the boy and the old man. When he finished his rice he handed the bowl to the young boy.

"Why is there no one else here?"

The boy looked at him as if he were supposed to know.

"You're very dangerous, We have made preparations to make sure that none of them are hurt during this process. It's a tradition whenever someone like you comes here. Don't worry."

Sanguinem nodded and followed the boy back to his room.

"He told me to let you know that your training starts tomorrow, and to leave any emotional connections behind. We will help you free yourself."

Once again the young monk left without another word, closing the doors behind him.

When he awoke the next day he found a black and white specially tailored outfit waiting for him. It reselmbled what we would refer to as a Gi and a mix between Shaolin monk robes. He stripped himself of his old clothes and put it on. It was airy and comfortable. He liked the way it felt against his movements. He exited his room and proceeded to the courtyard once more. When he arrived the two monks were training their muscles in the art of Shaolin Kung Fu. He approached quietly and bowed deeply to them. They stopped and returned the gesture, it seemed their training had come to an end.

The old man approached and jabbed Sanguinem in the chest with the second knuckle of his index finger. The force behind it was surprising to say the least, it actually hurt against the tougher skin he had. The old man extended his arm as if to tell him to walk forward, and that's what he did. As he walked forward he felt a large amount of force send him forward from his back, causing him to fall down chest first into the ground. Sanguinem stood up quickly facing the old man. Unsure what was happening.

The younger monk stepped forward and spoke.

"He wants you to fight him."

Sanguinem laughed and smiled smugly at the older monk. He charged towards the monk with the intention of grappling him to the ground, however inches before he would've been successful the older monk moved out of the way with surprising speed, pressing his hand down on the back of Sanguinem's head causing him to smash into the ground once again. He got up pissed that the monk was seeming to toy with him.

"Alright you old bastard come here."

Once again he charged at the old man this time pulling his fist back, and again just inches before contact the monk moved out of the way, grabbed his wrist and flung it downwards as his foot connected with the front of Sanguinem's leg forcing him to fall again. He slammed his fist down on the ground so hard that it cracked the courtyard's stone. He could feel the beast edging it's way up again. Just as he was about to stand and make another attack the child spoke once more.

"You will not get anywhere with brute force, instead adapt... and flow like water. This is a lesson in humility and a reminder that your mind must always stay calm. He says the lesson is over, and we will begin training now."

"Yeah yeah alright, just let me get u-"

As soon as the older monk relaxed Sanguinem pounced with unbridled force and speed towards the monk. In a split second he went from the air to the ground sharp pain shooting through his ribs, neck, and stomach. He had no idea what had happened the older monk moved in a blur of motions. For the first time ever the older monk spoke in broken english.

"you'a not ready? al'r you wan' is to fight'uh?"

He looked up at the monk with pain in his eyes, and regret on his face..

"No.. I am ready, teach me and I will listen."

The old man laughed and helped him up to his feet.

"Will'a take many year."

† 60 Years Later †

Silentium bid farewell to the young monk who had grown to be an old man. The older monk had passed about 20 years ago living to the ripe old age of 100 years old. As he stepped out of the temple courtyard for the last time. He felt a weight lift from him, an excitement grew in the pit of his stomach. He was finally free of the beast. Finally able to live a life without fear of other humans, without fear of himself... and most importantly he could finally start focusing on forgiving himself if at all possible. To start a new life as Silentium, and leave behind Senguinem The Beast.

Once he returned to civilization it was as if he had stepped onto another planet. Never having been away from the temple in all of his time spent there. Bright silver rectangles jutted through the air, the sunlight glinting off of them in a dazzling spectacle he'd never seen before. Mechanical beasts instead of horses drove their occupants now. There were people staring down at rectangles which illuminated brightly onto their faces, what were these devices? Had magic really become so popular?

40 Years Leading Up to the Rot
During the following 40 years Silentium has gotten accustomed to the futuristic world of present day. He's spent his days combat training using modern methods which have proved to mix well with his previous training. He's also spent a great deal amount of time reading rather it be on magical or practical matters. He's well versed in the knowledge of basic subjects. When the Rot started terrorizing humanity he was one of the first vampires to ever volunteer for the combat program rather than be forced into it as many others were and have been with their historic disdain for humans. Because of this he was interviewed regarding the world issues and how he felt about the mixing of vampire and human souls to fight the Rot.

"Excuse me! EXCUSE ME! Silent! Do you have any thoughts on the current war?"

Silentium turned and locked eyes with the reporter

"This war is not for me alone, this war is for all of you. We will be triumphant in this battle. I can ensure you of that."

An onslaught of reporters threw their questions out at him.

"How do you feel about humans and vampires mixing!? Do you think it's inappropriate as a potential speciest issue?"

He let out a long sigh not wanting to be bothered by this any longer, clearly they were going to try and twist his words.

"No."

He pushed his way past the swarm of journalists entering his vehicle and closing the door, their questions and overwhelmed minds were dulled inside the interior.

"Time to report to base... I suppose..."

Skills/Abilities
Magic Abilities (max. 3):

Telekinesis - William only specialises in Telekinesis. He does not know any other form of magic. As such, he has an extremely potent force behind the magic, aided by his incredible natural aptitude for it. This means he has incredible power and durability behind each telekinetic spell cast, but a high lack of control and accuracy over it. A loose glass cannon, per se.
The range of his magic is a 50ft radius.
Anything influenced by William's magic gains a purple glow effect around it for as long as he interacts with it. Invisible stuff like air will not gain the glow effect until something visible comes into contact with it, however it will shimmer.

Technological Equipment:

Handheld EMP - An Electromagnet Pulse device that shorts out all electronics in a 10ft radius, looks like a small remote. Has 6 charges before it needs to be recharged.

Strengths:

Natural Magical Aptitude - William is naturally very attuned with magic and the use of mana. He can sense it in the world around him as a substitute for not being able to see. 75ft range.
This also means William has an unusually high mana count, more so than normal mages.

Silver Tongued Braniac - William is very quick witted with his words and actions. He seems to know just what to say at the right time and just what to do in a bad situation. Just because his magic is savage and basic right now, it does not mean William is.

Weaknesses:

Sightless Perception - William is blind. He cannot see anything beyond what he can sense with mana, which has a 75ft range. (However his other senses like hearing, touch, taste and smell receive a minor boost. Nothing similar to vampires though.)

Magic-Dependant - William does not have much physical capability. He can dodge an attack simply because he can sense it coming, but otherwise he is no stronger, faster or durable than a normal human, perhaps even less so.

Personal Information
Personality:

Sexually interested is one way to describe William. Perverted is another...
William is a well-to-do gentleman for the most part. Not the pompous "I'm so great" type of gentleman, but the kind, intelligent, well-mannered type. Of course this is only one side to him, his devious sex-appeal comes out the moment a hot piece of-
*ahem*
William is kind, loyal, wilful (lol), tenacious, determined and courageous on the inside. When in battle, William is easily super focused and calm, capable of reacting swiftly and logically with the utmost precision. Both academically and streetsmart, William can handle himself in a fight and excels at education.

Likes:

Women, magic, flirting, ice tea, people who underestimate him and dressing nice.

Dislikes:

Being teased about his sight, dark chocolate, losing a battle, overly loud noises, going to the opticians (haha jkjk) and using weapons.

Goal(s):

To permanently regain his sight.
To become such a powerful Mage that he can easily protect humanity (and vampires) from the Rot.

Fear(s):

Losing his other senses.
Becoming useless to those around him.

History
:

Living in one of the more richer areas in the nearby city to academy, William grew up with a more financially stable family. Wel, they were rich family of noble decree, but that wasn't particularly important. William attended an all-male boarding school for academically talented individuals. The school's programme also offered courses on enticing magical energy from its students in hopes of creating powerful mages for the academy. Whilst the success rate was largely low, William was one of the lucky few to show promise in it. Years pass and now William had begun to discover his natural attunement with the magical energy that inhabited the world. He then trained himself under the school's teachings in the magic that came easiest to him: Telekinesis.

It was only the next year that tragedy befell William and the city he lived in. The Rot had arrived with a terrible siege to employ. The monster ravaged the urban landscape, killing any and all that dared to reveal itself within it's sight. All who looked into that single ethereal eye was blinded eternally, an ability that allowed for the decimation of the Academy detail sent to deal with the creature. Amongst its other deadly tricks, no one appeared to be a match for it, including William. Thanks to his ability to fling himself away from the battle in time, William could not save his friends or family, nor his eyesight - stolen from him by that monster. Near-broken and beyond despair, William was picked up by the Vanguard to live in a surrounding Hamlet to continue his training and live peacefully until the next assault. William did not find out what happened to that Rot that had attacked, but he assumes it was either driven away or it simply left. It was around this time that William's more promiscuous behaviour began. Living in an all-boy boarding school left much to the imagination on woman and William had had a more than a slight midlife crisis, leading to a slight deviation in his personality. He needed a vice and had decided that it would become the female attraction. The next few years were filled with growing accustomed to his blindness, which was made easier by his natural magical talent, training his skills and magic and flirting with anything female in sight. Today will be his first proper day at the Vanguard, however he does know a few of the staff around already.
Accepted you dirty little slut.
