Human Mechanics
There are several mechanics that will influence how players will play as humans. Humans will have a proficiency level and a set mana pool that may be expanded upon.

What is the proficiency level?

The proficiency level is how experienced a mage is in a specific spell tree. The higher the level, the less mana it costs to use spells in that tree along with an increase in potency (raw power output).

What determines how big my mana pool is?

The size of your character's initial mana pool will be decided by your character sheet. On that subject, I will personally be the one to determine your characters' proficiency level and mana pool according to what YOU give me on the CS of your character.

Is there anyway to make you increase the proficiency levels I would like?

Kind of. The reason your character is only allowed to start with 1-3 spell trees is because everyone has different talents. You are essentially choosing what your character is naturally talented at. If you choose three talents, your proficiency level for those three won't be high but your mana pool will be larger due to the variety.

If you choose to focus one tree, your proficiency will be much higher in that one tree (example: only talent being in Pyromancy), though your mana pool will be smaller.

Does that mean I'm stuck to those three trees?

Of course not. The whole point of this early start in this RP is so your characters can "safely" become stronger as it continues, whether that means you become stronger in your characters' natural talents or you start moving into other trees for a wider variety of spells.

Do I gotta sit my ass through classes to increase my proficiency? Boiiiii you got me fu-"

Chill bih. The classes are for world building and lore along with some fun combat roleplay. Time skips will be a regular thing in this roleplay and will usually be weeks to months. During this time you can tell me what your character was learning in their classes and I will up their proficiency levels and mana pool accordingly. You could even come up with one new spell per time skip if you use....cryomancy or something. Now, no matter how hard they were hitting the books, they can only learn so much in the time I allotted for them. So don't try and power level yourself or something.

Oh! Your character levels up their natural talents faster than anything. So choose wisely.

Is that all we can do during the time skips?

No, you could do so much more. You can interact with other players and create friendships, rivalries, enemies, lovers, former lovers, and whatever the hell you want as long both players are in agreement. Of course, you may choose to roleplay these situations out in between time skips. All you gotta do is ask. You could also tell me what kind of runes your character was writing or any new incantations for new spells in the Arcane tree.

Fuck you mean incantations and runes? Why you gotta be so extra?

Well now you know what took my ass so long, huh? In the Arcane tree, you have two ways of casting spells. Incantations or writing runes on scrolls. Incantations are multi-versed chants that help the human channel the full extent of the spell(s). The more powerful the spell, the longer the incantation. Bonus is that you get to write your own incantations. I look forward to seeing what kind of cool chants you guys come up with!

Runes are very complex, intricate magical circles that have a spell woven into the markings. They usually take a long time to write and will normally be done in the time skips. The stronger the spell, the bigger and more complex the rune must be. The good part about preparing runes beforehand is that these spells can be activated instantly and for a greatly reduced mana cost. You simply infused the rune with some mana, the scroll burns up and the spell comes flying out. Though the drawback is that runes are very limited in number and have a decent penalty in the potency of the spell.

What if I run out of mana?

I'll always be watching the in character posts and you are expected to post your mana levels during combat scenes or whenever your character uses magic. I'll show you an example:

Jeffery was scared as hell when he saw the shadowy figure of a man rushing at him down the hallway. He quickly recited his incantation, "Flames of the exalted, surge forth and scorch my enemies. Flame Bullet!"

Mana: 60 / 65


You can word it however you want but it must be included during scenes like this. Even if you didn't use any magic.

As your character runs lower and lower on mana, they will become weaker and weaker. Mana is like life to a human. If your character reaches zero, they will pass out and stay out for the remainder of the fight or unless a Vitae mage uses equilibrium on them. If a human were to continue channeling a spell even after they have hit zero, they are now killing themselves. The chance of death is extremely high if this should ever happen but....it might be necessary to save someone's life one day.

Okay, I got all this. What if I have more questions?

Synergy

Barriers
Usage of one's mana to create defensive fields of varying shapes, sizes, and densities to ward off enemy attacks.

Destruction
Usage of one's mana to fire pure magic as on offensive ability.

Empower
Usage of one's mana to enhance the offensive capability of a weapon or defensive capability of the target(s) armor.

Infusion
Filling the target(s) with raw magical energy gives a sharp spike in magical potency.

Absorption: Highly advanced Arcane spell tree that absorbs energy essence.
Drain
The caster leeches off of the natural mana surrounding the area to refill mana. Can also be used by touch against another human.

Redirection
The caster absorbs the energy of an incoming projectile attack and redirects it away from the caster.

Counter Spell
The caster absorbs the energy of a magical attack, infuses it with the caster's own, and launches it back towards the source.

Psi
Kinesis: The manipulation of the physical world around the caster.

Telekinesis
The free manipulation of kinetic energy.

Hydrokinesis
The free manipulation of water.

Aerokinesis
The free manipulation of air.

Audiokinesis
The free manipulation of sound.

Metamagic: The rapid analysis and counter to enemy magic.
Disarming
The caster quickly analyzes the spell from an enemy mage and interrupts the magical flow, rendering it useless.

Replication
The caster analyzes a spell that has been cast within view and is capable of replicating the spell at reduced cost and highly reduced potency one time.

Augmentation
The caster analyzes the archetype of a fellow mage and enhances the magic potency of the last archetype used.

Alchemy: The act of changing the environment at a physical and chemical level to achieve different products. Quality of the product must be equal to the material used.(e.g. a lot of dirt used to make a few ingots of iron). Must have extensive knowledge of the composition of the target substances.
Transmutation
The act of altering a physical substance at the chemical level, changing the material entirely.

Construction
The act of constructing physical substance into the shape the caster wishes by using material in the immediate vicinity

Deconstruction
The act of deconstructing an object at the molecular level to achieve a desired construction.

Animation
The act of breathing life into a created construct of the alchemist's design. Falls apart once the mage runs critically low on mana.

Dimensional Shift: The most advanced form of Psi magic, being able to briefly cause rips in space.
Personal Space
The mage uses a high amount of magic to open a small, pocket dimension and must use a continuous amount of mana to maintain it open.

Blink
The mage uses a set amount of magic to teleport a certain distance nigh instantaneously. The longer the distance, the higher the cost (blinking a few feet takes a large amount of mana to the untrained).

The hell is a Blood Level and BPP?

Glad you asked. The Blood Level is the maximum amount of blood your character can absorb from feeding. BPP stands for blood per post. Whenever your character uses blood to enhance something, they pay an activation cost and then a certain amount of blood every following post that it is active. I'll show you an example:

Tyler was deadlocked with his older brother and he was losing out in the contest of strength. His brother was much stronger but Tyler was the faster one. The younger vampire decided to kick it up a notch and show his brother that he wasn't a little kid anymore! He grit his teeth and instantaneously felt the blood surging through his body, granting him the speed he was asking for. (-10)

Blood Level 80 / 90

Next post:

(-5) Tyler wasted no time in blowing his brother out of the water, overwhelming him with blinding, near super sonic speeds, landing blow after blow on the older vampire. It was a flurry of fists and blood that the elder sibling simply could not keep up with. All his strength was for naught and he could only cover up and try to protect himself from the torrent of blows.


So what do I do when I run out of blood? Just attack everyone?

PRAY to every god you know that you don't run out of blood and Frenzy.

......Ooooookay. What if I have low blood but stopped enhancing my abilities. Do I still Frenzy?

I will always be monitoring everything closely and it honestly depends on the situation. If your character's life is in jeopardy, he's low on blood, and scared....

Chances are he is going to Frenzy in a last ditch effort for survival. It also depends on whether or not he is injured. The last time he fed is also important. The frequency of feeding could save you in a low blood situation. A vampire that starves himself and is low on blood is a guaranteed Frenzy. One that feeds regularly and is low on blood might be able to resist the Frenzy.

Does anything else influence vampire stuff?

Yes, actually. There are 3 types of vampires. Purebloods, Median Vamps, and Thinbloods:

Purebloods are vampires that have only bred with other vampires all the way back to their oldest ancestor (who is probably still alive somewhere). Purebloods tend to have larger Blood Levels, a moderate BPP, and a high chance to Frenzy due to the fact that they must feed more often than the others.

Median Vampires are vampires that have bred with humans and vampires with roughly equal frequency. These types of vampires have a moderate Blood Level, moderate to high BPP, and a moderate resistance to Frenzy due to frequency of feeding. These vampires are what make up the modern average.

Thinbloods are vamps who have bred with humans for many generations and rarely produce another vampire child. The standard for these is a low Blood Level, a high BPP, and an extremely low chance of experiencing a Frenzy due to rarely needing to feed.

The Beast
Vampires are naturally physically superior to human beings in almost every way. This is while the vampires are in a relaxed and natural state. These beings are the natural predators of humans and as such, need to drink human blood as their main form of sustenance. Studies have shown that the recommended diet for the average modern vampire is about two to three pints of blood each day. This number can fluctuate from individual to individual.

Blood is needed for the vampire to remain healthy, just like a human must eat to do so. But blood drinking has two added effects: enhancing the vampires talents and keeping the vampire sane.

Within all vampires exists an alter ego commonly referred to as "The Beast." The Beast is what gives the vampires their supernatural physical abilities. By burning the blood they have consumed, they are able to vastly enhance some of their physical traits, such as speed or strength. Doing this, as previously stated, uses up the blood they had consumed that day and would need to drink more in order to refuel.

The Beast is an insatiable instinct within vampires that can never be quelled. They can only temporarily dull the pull that The Beast has on their mind by engaging in some of the urges it desires. Whether that be consuming blood, sexual activity, contained violence, or other means. Things that aggravate it and strengthen the pull are injury, stress, starvation, combat, and blood enhancement.

Should, for some reason, a vampire choose not to curb the desires of The Beast or find themselves unable to, their mind will start to deteriorate. They become emotional, irritable, and violent. The longer they go without feeding, the stronger their physical abilities become. While it varies between individuals, the vampire will eventually succumb to a Frenzy. The Frenzy is when The Beast takes complete control of the consciousness of the vampire and will cause the vampire to go on an uncontrollable rampage, attacking everything in sight. During the Frenzy, the vampire uses all enhancements available to them to the fullest capability they are capable of. The Frenzy lasts longer depending on the overall strength of vampire. This is why the more powerful and experienced vampires are usually killed on sight rather than attempted to be restrained.

[I]What is the proficiency level?[/I]

The proficiency level is how experienced a vampire is in a specific physical trait. The higher the level, the less blood per post (BPP) it costs to enhance that ability along with an increase in the scale of the feats (i.e. going from being able to run at 100 mph to 200 mph).

[I]What determines how high my Blood Level is?[/I]

The size of your character's initial Blood Level will be decided by your character sheet. On that subject, I will personally be the one to determine your character's proficiency level and Blood Level according to what YOU give me on the CS of your character.

[I]Is there anyway to make you increase the proficiency levels I would like?[/I]

Kind of. The reason why your character is only allowed to start with 1-3 traits is because everyone has different talents. You are essentially choosing what your character is naturally talented at. If you choose three talents, your proficiency level for those three won't be high but your Blood Level will be higher and BPP will be less due to the variety.

If you choose to focus one trait, your proficiency will be much higher in that one trait. (e.g. only trait being in speed) though your Blood Level will be smaller.

[I]Does that mean I'm stuck to those three traits?[/I]

Of course not. The whole point of this early start in this RP is so your characters can "safely" become stronger as it goes. Whether that means you become stronger in your character's natural talents or you start moving into other traits for a wider array of combat possibilities.

[I]Do I gotta sit my ass through classes to increase my proficiency? Boiiiii you got me fu-"[/I]

Chill bih. The classes are for world building and lore along with some fun combat roleplay. Time skips will be a regular thing in this roleplay and will usually be weeks to months. During this time you can tell me what your character was learning in their classes and I will up their proficiency levels and Blood Level accordingly. They can only learn so much in the time I allotted for them. So don't try and power level yourself or something.

Oh! Your character levels up their natural talents faster than anything. So choose wisely.

[I]The hell is a Blood Level and BPP?[/I]

Glad you asked. The Blood Level is the maximum amount of blood your character can absorb from feeding. BPP stands for blood per post. Whenever your character uses blood to enhance something, they pay an activation cost and then a certain amount of blood every following post that it is active. I'll show you an example:

[B]Tyler was deadlocked with his older brother and he was losing out in the contest of strength. His brother was much stronger but Tyler was the faster one. The younger vampire decided to kick it up a notch and show his brother that he wasn't a little kid anymore! He grit his teeth and instantaneously felt the blood surging through his body, granting him the speed he was asking for. (-10)

PRAY to every god you know that you don't run out of blood and Frenzy.

I will always be monitoring everything closely and it honestly depends on the situation. If your character's life is in jeopardy, he's low on blood, and scared....

Chances are he is going to Frenzy in a last ditch effort for survival. It also depends on whether or not he is injured. The last time he fed is also important. The frequency of feeding could save you in a low blood situation. A vampire that starves himself and is low on blood is a guaranteed Frenzy. One that feeds regularly and is low on blood might be able to resist the Frenzy.

[I]Does anything else influence vampire stuff?[/I]

Yes, actually. There are 3 types of vampires. Purebloods, Median Vamps, and Thinbloods:

[B]Purebloods[/B] are vampires that have only bred with other vampires all the way back to their oldest ancestor (who is probably still alive somewhere). Purebloods tend to have larger Blood Levels, a moderate BPP, and a high chance to Frenzy due to the fact that they must feed more often than the others.

[B]Median Vampires[/B] are vampires that have bred with humans and vampires with roughly equal frequency. These types of vampires have a moderate Blood Level, moderate to high BPP, and a moderate resistance to Frenzy due to frequency of feeding. These vampires are what make up the modern average.

[B]Thinbloods[/B] are vamps who have bred with humans for many generations and rarely produce another vampire child. The standard for these is a low Blood Level, a high BPP, and an extremely low chance of experiencing a Frenzy due to rarely needing to feed.

This is while the vampires are in a relaxed and natural state. These beings are the natural predators of humans and as such, need to drink human blood as their main form of sustenance. Studies have shown that the recommended diet for the average modern vampire is about two to three pints of blood each day. This number can fluctuate from individual to individual.

Blood is needed for the vampire to remain healthy, just like a human must eat to do so. But blood drinking has two added effects: enhancing the vampires talents and keeping the vampire sane.

Within all vampires exists an alter ego commonly referred to as "The Beast." The Beast is what gives the vampires their supernatural physical abilities. By burning the blood they have consumed, they are able to vastly enhance some of their physical traits, such as speed or strength. Doing this, as previously stated, uses up the blood they had consumed that day and would need to drink more in order to refuel.

The Beast is an insatiable instinct within vampires that can never be quelled. They can only temporarily dull the pull that The Beast has on their mind by engaging in some of the urges it desires. Whether that be consuming blood, sexual activity, contained violence, or other means. Things that aggravate it and strengthen the pull are injury, stress, starvation, combat, and blood enhancement.

Should, for some reason, a vampire choose not to curb the desires of The Beast or find themselves unable to, their mind will start to deteriorate. They become emotional, irritable, and violent. The longer they go without feeding, the stronger their physical abilities become. While it varies between individuals, the vampire will eventually succumb to a Frenzy. The Frenzy is when The Beast takes complete control of the consciousness of the vampire and will cause the vampire to go on an uncontrollable rampage, attacking everything in sight. During the Frenzy, the vampire uses all enhancements available to them to the fullest capability they are capable of. The Frenzy lasts longer depending on the overall strength of vampire. This is why the more powerful and experienced vampires are usually killed on sight rather than attempted to be restrained.[/SIZE][/COLOR][/FONT][/CENTER][/bg]{/slide}[/accordion][/bg]

Personal Information
Personality: Willow would be one of the wild party girls if the Rot had never existed and caused such seriousness to cross the land. She's a creative soul that refuses to be crushed by the vexations and horrors of the world around her. She's adaptable to most situations and changes based on the people around her. She's a pusher and therefore loves getting people out of their comfort zones. She sometimes gets really quiet and distant and can't get coaxed out of it. She usually gets solitary during these times and gets angry when bothered.

History
Willow was a single child born into a rather poor family in a small town. Her mother was a shell of herself most of the time due to some past horrific events that left her scarred mentally and physically and didn't even remember to take care of the newborn after her birth, forcing her father to ask their neighbors to watch the child when he went to work in the coal mines. Their neighbors were an old couple who had lived in the town for as long as anyone could remember. They were pretty reclusive and Willow's father was surprised they even answered his knocks on the door and plee to take care of Willow.

The old couple were pretty quiet and reserved but Willow saw them as her grandparents and loved them. The woman was called Norra and made the best treats whenever she could scrape enough money to buy sugar and flour. The man was called Vennin and he made tiny sculptures out of any material lying on the ground. They were small and intricate and sold for very little since most people were worried about getting by than decorating their mantles.Vennin gave her one when she was a child and she kept it for many years. it was a tree but had long dropping branches decorated with leaves. It was as big as her hand and every leaf had immaculate details. She had never seen a tree like it which was because the trees around town were regular oaks or had been cut down to build shelters and such. Vennin said the tree was her namesake, which she found pretty odd. Why would her parents name her after such an odd-looking tree? She asked her this question to father who was covered in coal dust at supper and he gave her a small smile. It was the kind of smile someone expressed when the topic carried long-forgotten memories that replayed images of good times.

Her father had grown up before the Rot had emerged and so had her mother. The two were the same age and had grown up in a city that had fallen many years ago. The two had been neighbors and their parents were friends which meant the two spent quite the amount of time together. Willow's mother, Ana, was taller and fiercer than a spit cracker and had Willow's dad head-over-heels as little boys tend to do. They fought as toddlers and fought as pre-teens and ignored each other through the last half of middle school. Ana was always with friends at parties and Willow's father, Jacob, was always training for football. He was on the football field at school and sew Ana's father's car pull up in the parking lot across the street, the Winter Formal party blasting music as she stepped out of her car with her date. He used his anger to train harder.
That summer brought dark clouds. Ana's mother was killed in a car crash and so she retreated into her house. Jacob finally got over himself and knocked on her door for the first time in years. He was invited in by her somber father and entered the familiar house that had the feeling of sadness radiating from the very butterscotch painted walls. They ended up climbing on the roof from her bedroom window and talking. Lost time was remembered and laughed over as the sun sunk lower. He returned to his house with a feeling as if 50 pounds had been taken off his chest. They started talking and hanging out over the summer and they visited Ana's mother's grave. Ana claimed she felt better after that. They had their first kiss under the willow tree in her backyard which was their favorite place beside the roof to talk. (Willow laughed at this part since she could have easily been named Roof). The Rot came when they were 16 and they fled the city soon after due to attacks at the city limit. They were separated for two years but found each other at a refugee camp. They mourned their parents who they felt were most likely dead and moved on. They joined small parties that tried fighting the Rot but Ana got injured after getting dragged off by a small one after lagging behind the group. Jacob heard her shouts and fended the beast off. Ana was crying and shaking and passed out from blood loss. The doctor who patched her up said it was a miracle she lived but she was in shock and had damage mentally. She was a ghost of her former self but Jacob never gave up on her. It turned out she was pregnant and the fetus hadn't been harmed, unlike its mother. Willow was born and her father swore when Ana looked at her, there was recognition and familiarity. She said her name was Willow. She hadn't spoken since the accident.
Willow didn't remember her mother all to well since she died when she was four but she still felt sad about her loss since it was mother.

Her father looked sadder after the story and Willow gave him a reassuring smile and a peck on the cheek as well as her mother who hadn't stopped staring at the wall. She ran to her room and gave the figurine a kiss on its leaves as well.

Willow witnessed Vennin using animation magic when she was 10. She had crept into his study to find paper to draw on when she heard his footsteps and darted in the closet since the couple didn't like her going into their room. He went to his desk and pulled out a blob of clay.
It took a short moment to make some kind of animal and he placed it on his desk before tapping it. Willow nearly yelled when the figure started moving. It moved around for a few moments before standing still once more.
Vennin repeated this process a few more times with different creatures he made before placing them in a bag and leaving, presumably off to try to sell them.

Of course, Willow was intrigued.

She questioned Vennin on it as soon as he came home later that day. He hadn't managed to sell any of the creatures he made, so he took them and sat them down on the kitchen table. Vennin thought it would be something the girl would be interested in for a short period then move on to other things, so he just explained what magic he was using in a way the younger one would understand and animated one of the creatures and sent her off home when her father got back from work. He was surprised to see her back on his porch the next day and the days after that.

She was still pretty young to understand the actual magic, so he started off with letting her imagination kick in. Willow barely knew about animals besides cats and dogs, so Vennin got out books dealing with mythical and real animals. He didn't just show pictures, he gave information on them as well which seemed to help Willow remember. He made visual aids with clay and other materials which were especially helpful with the mythical animals. Willow started drawing her own fantastical beasts made up of combinations of animals that Vennin animated and showed the flaws in body proportions and movement that Willow would have to find a solution for. They stayed on that part for a long time before moving onto materials and compositions as well as other things when Willow got older and went into middle school. It reminded her of science class which was her favorite so she didn't mind the long lessons Vennin hosted after she got out of school and sometimes on the weekend. If Willow got stuck on something Vennin never let her quit. Norra made snacks for the two on nights such as those before retiring to bed. Willow usually passed out as soon as she finally figured out a problem and Vennin would let her sleep on the couch and notify her dad so he wouldn't worry.

Willow started noticing Vennin was running out of things to teach yet refused to let her even attempt magic. Vennin avoided the question for a while but Willow was wearing him down.

Vennin sat her down and told her about the Vanguard. He had been in it for a while when he was younger and had been quite talented until he was almost fatally injured and sent home with a medal. He spoke as if he had seen all the horrors in the world and Willow could sense it. Vennin helped Willow learn about the magic but didn't want her actually doing it since it might pave her a path to the Vanguard, but if she wanted to learn magic he'd do his best no matter what she chose to do with it.

Vennin started off with transmutation which was the hardest thing Willow experienced even though she was familiar with what needed to be done. She struggled with actually using mana and understanding the concept of it even existing, but Vennin was patient as always. Construction and animation was easier and more fun to Willow and it took her less time to understand it since she took an artistic approach to it. Vennin had her start off with clay and shape it without magic before trying to make a replica with magic on another piece of clay. He did what he used to do when she was little and animated the creation she made with magic to see if it was functional.

Willow's lessons continued throughout high school and Vennin grew distraught when he saw her interest in the Vanguard. She felt like she needed to help others and it was the same drive that led Vennin to join those many years ago as well. He fulfilled his promise and didn't try to talk her out of it or stop her. She packed a few items and said goodbye to Vennin, Norra, and her father before making her way to the train station.

The fantasy she had built in her head was pretty much crushed. She saw things she wished she could erase from her mind entirely and her nerves were shot. She had a partner for nearly two years who was basically her soulmate. Willow was a mess when her partner was killed and nearly died herself cradling the girl's dead body and had to be dragged away by her unit. Willow refused another partner for a long time until she clicked with another girl and allowed herself to Blood Link with her.

Willow has a lot of regrets about joining the Vanguard and often wishes she could run away and ignore the Rot and everything else. The thought that reels her back in is she needs to protect the small family she has back at home.

Strengths:
Heightened Sense: Oppose from her already enhanced vampiric ability this is due to her sensitivity for the environment around her, mainly caused by the fact that she simply sits and listens a lot of the time, hearing the subtly movements or breaths of those around her, this makes sensing the movements of those around her incredibly easy.

Intelligent: Ellise is far above average when it comes to almost every school related subject and was suggested to skip grades early on in her education but refused due to it 'Affecting her childhood social study and development of outer world skills' whatever that meant to her grade six teacher.

Photographic memory: Fairly self-explanatory in nature Ellise is gifted with a photographic memory, only having to read a text once or twice to remember the entire thing practically by heart which is the main use of such a skill, but as such her directional sense is also rather decent, even if she isn't what you'd call the adventurous sort. It's even been joked such an ability would make you think she's more suited of a magical set of abilities for how handy it would come into remembering incantations and such.

Independant: From an extremely young age though not forced Ellise has been someone who takes care of both herself and others, though caring greatly she doesn't quite understand how to display her affections. She can cook, clean and most other things by herself making her even more reluctant to leave her correct logical and frankly robotic ways. The exceptions to such a rule being her best friend and most so her mother.

Fast Learner: Ellise picks up on and learns things to her quickly unless it's something she finds herself disliking or uncomfortable with, in particular she seems to drop her grades slightly when put in group projects, but otherwise she'll learn most classes within only a small period of time.

Weaknesses:
Easily Distracted: Ellise's habit of enjoying and lurking in the quieter areas means that when in loud or noisy places her focus can occasionally flicker and her concentration may not be a hundred percent at the time. Which to a normal person wouldn't make too much difference but to someone with enhanced senses it can cause a decently strong effect.

Pasifist Route: Ellise chooses not to fight in almost every situation unless on a battlefield, seeing it as an unnecessary amount of time, meaning someone could theoretically slap and yell at her and she'd simply walk away without a comment or statement against it, she relies on her best, and possibly only friend Gale for that sort of support.

Unemotional:Ellise though understand how emotions work and are important through reading and study still cannot comprehend the action of expressing them herself, leading to her robotic nature. This is only strengthen further by her extremely logical views and lack of interaction with others.

Social Interaction:Ellise had, and still has many opportunities to interact with those around her but doesn't deal well with crowded places or even just one on one interaction with others very well, not that she'd awkward or afraid of it, in fact she just just unsure how exactly she's supposed to act, Gale being the one she relies on for this kind of activity and is currently going through a phase of copying some of their sanctions in hopes of mastering such a thing.

Attacks: Ellise focuses on speed, agility, dodging and multiple quick and precise strikes to take down her enemies, when it comes to raw power or strength she's not your first choice lets just say, but if we're talking about knowing which part of the human spine to press in order to trigger temporary paralysis, she's your girl.

History:
Ellise's mother had her at the exceptionally young age of only 14 in a fling with another vampire who abandoned the woman as soon as they heard of the unexpected child, the girls parents unsure of how to react to such news and with the little income they had she instead spent much of her time travelling from friends place to friends place with both having and raising the baby that was named quite simply, Ellise.

By the time Ellise was four they had enough money to at least rent out a small apartment to live in, it only had two rooms, a bathroom and everything else, but it was home and her mothers never ending optimistic and strong-willed personality made it more than comfortable. Her mom took up many part time jobs to try and keep the small and odd family going, leaving early and coming home late, but always happy. Maybe it was this happy aura that her mother brought with her, this innocence that inspired Ellise to work so hard in studying from such a young age, even though they couldn't afford for her to go to school at the time Ellise went to the library every day and by the time they finally had enough and she started in grade six, she'd read the entire library out, some books twice.

She wasn't teased or bullied for her odd personality, most just choosing to stay away from the strangely unemotional and robotic child, well- all but a young child by the name of Gale that had managed to forget their homework that was due that day, and through a childhood deal made between the two from then one they each had a friend, someone to lean on and trust, someone who both grew closer to over time.

Ellise and her mother were extremely close, and even though their personalities were seemingly polar opposites they looked practically like sisters, and her mum could've very well been for all anyone knew. Ellise also started a few jobs here and there around this age to pull in some extra money, but the two had each other, and now with gale, that was enough, that was all they needed.

Her mum did try out dating again for a while but eventually stopped, complaining that none of them were 'the one' well- that and Ellise glaring at them with the fury of a thousand angry cats. She'd never quite forgiven their farther and her hatred for men did not disappear as quickly as her mother would've lied it to, joking around about it as much as she could to lighten the subject but Ellise still protested in her own stubborn way. Her mother always taught her to be kind for others, to care for them and was her role model in life, and though it not be how most do it Ellise does care for others in her own unique way.

When finding out about her mothers childhood dreams of one day joining in the battle against the rot and Ellise quite liking the idea of putting her well-refined combat knowledge to use, she denied that she would join in the battle against them, knowing full well the dangers but believing in the power of herself and as such Gale followed along.

'That face' The thing Ellise is probably most susceptible to in the world, it was an expression her mother made when agreeing to something despite worrying, or when she'd put on a brave face for her daughter, she hated it and as such avoids anyone who seems to have the potential of it. She'd determined to complete the dream her mother couldn't, to learn how to protect her and everyone else she cares for, and to eventually return home safely with enough money to support both herself and her mum.

-Pyromancy: An ability Yume has demonstrated great talent and skill at over her years in training, refining the art of fire creation and manipulation to as best she could to this point in her life. This is by far her strongest ability and the one she focuses on the most.

Fire Affinity: Yume has always felt almost connected to fire, a strong pull lured hr towards studying it arose to all other options of magic at a young age and to this day she continues to show skill beyond her years at the means of casting such magic, however her control over it can fall out of balance when she tries to push her boundaries too far.

Physical Strength: Yume's childhood training that still continues has upped her physical strength to a high peak, not more so than any other human but certainly above the average.

Attack Power: Yume's abilities give her an incredible offensive front, allowing her to take out enemies without too much of a sweat as long as they don't land too many hits on her first.

Stubborn Resilience: Mentally Yume will keep getting up over and over again, you could beat the girl to a bloody pulp and she'd still try and get back up to punch you a good one, her never fleeting sense of determination keeps powering her on no matter what.

Positive-Aura: Yume's bubbly and overly cheerful/optimistic personality tends to rub off on those around her, her playful and fun-loving ways can't help but make most smile, especially her more clumsy and amusing moments.

History:
Yume was found at abandoned in front of her grandparents dojo when only a few months of age, barely old enough to understand what was going on in the world around her, so innocent and so young, so fragile and delicate. Even to this day nobody seems to know what happened to her parents, where they went when they mysteriously disappeared that spring day so many years ago, the rustling of the trees so soft and yet the wind that night blew cold.

Her grandparents took her in and raised her as their own, her grandmother a caring a kindhearted woman and though the same could be said for her grandfather he showed it in his own kind of way, that which involved training her to become the next heir to their family name, the next in line to inherit their families history of great warriors and now with the rot- someone to protect those who needed it most. She was to begin learning as soon as she was old enough to at least mimic the action of a punch and strong enough to stand, from the very beginning she showed an immense talent for pyromancy, mastering the art of creating the flame quickly, but controlling it was a whole other matter.

She trained hard every day in order to repay a non-existent debt she felt she owed to them for taking care and raising her in their old age, for giving her a home when she had none and no matter what she was determined to make them proud. As she grew up she made many friends in the small village, it wasn't isolated so to say but a decent ways from the busy cities which though made them less of a target, it meant that when attacked they had to be ready. They played together and learnt together, shared dreams and goals with one another and all were accepted and given kindness there. Only two vampires lived within the village however, a pureblood and a thin blood who were apparently a couple, they were nice people but for some reason Yume always felt uneasy around the pair, smiling awkwardly and on occasion shooting them a wave before quickly scampering off with the rest of her group.

When in her pre-teens she'd made up her mind in going to join the battle against the rot, now even more determined than ever to try her hardest and work to her best capabilities in order to defeat the newfound enemy of mankind and vampire kind alike. After all- even if no one would say it…. She had her suspicions of where her parents went. But even with this thought she still continued to be hopeful that they were out there somewhere and maybe, just maybe if she became famous enough of a pyromancer they'd find her, and as such she wore the name of Kasai proudly in hopes of one day being reunited with them. It was also around this age that she began to show small signs of elemental magic potential, something that though her grandfather was curious of and nodded her towards following on with it she kindly denied, instead choosing to focus completely on the one she'd been learning her whole life, and now with the addition of drain to keep such a mana-consuming power fuelled.

But as for what happens next? Who knows….

A snarky, stuck-up set of parents raised a child with exactly the same personality traits. As she was trained, Ch'era betrays no emotion, especially during combat, and always regards other vampires of pure blood with respect. Anything below them is treated with condescension, even though she personally only finds humans to be the stranger and more alien-like species of the two. She prefers to focus on her studies, on her combative abilities, and avoiding head-on CQC due to her lack of strength. History
The House of Hollomere has been present for centuries with one of the many royal vampire bloodlines in existence today. This House in particular hosts only vampires and will do so for the decades to come, due to the carried down traditions; humans are meant to serve vampires as food and slaves, not allies in arms, despite the creation of Vanguard. Tradition has always been demanded in the home, causing the childhood of Ch'era Hollomere to consist of fulfilling her duties as the upcoming head of the house and learning the proper etiquette for surviving the world she was born in. At age five, she learned how to wield a blade and mastered using several different blades as she grew older, the bright young vampire naturally having the skill of swordsmanship, as it ran in her blood. From age ten and so forth, she was given duties around the House and tailed her parents, watching their every move as they taught her the ways of their ancestors, who were killed by humans, back when the two species were at odds.

Due to the murders of her ancestors, Ch'era was brought up to believe that humans were dirt, unworthy of even the attention of the Purebloods. Vampires that mingled with humans and had children with them were of the same stature and not at all to be considered familial. Once a vampire mingled with a human, they were dead to the other physically superior creatures - at least, that's how things were run in Ch'era's household. From birth her parents knew that she was destined to bring the world to the way it should be, their beliefs reinforced by the intelligence of the young vampire female and her remarkable skills. Rather than spending her time with other children, Ch'era remained hidden away in her training and her studies, learning everything she could about the outside world and everything she needed to know in order to survive, to best her foes, and even her parents when she sparred them.

At age sixteen, Ch'era had molded her body into the perfect weapon (with the extension of her temporary blade aiding her in her fights) by focusing on her speed, agility, and her stamina: her parents often set up situations that she knew nothing about in order to help her practice thinking under pressure, as well as find ways to escape without harming those coming after her. She learned how to incapacitate her foes without dealing killing blows,
even though she was not afraid to do so, and used the combination of her speed and agility to help her tire out her foe(s) or confuse them. Since she had done so over the course of many years, Ch'era was able to build up her stamina and spend more and more time out on the practice fields of her home.

However, as she continued learning about just how horrible humans were, how to fight, how to be the noble she was born to be, Ch'era quickly became bored with staying within her home. What began as her first few nights sneaking out of her room on the top floor of a four story manor quickly became a nightly endeavour as she visited numerous locations while she was out and about, such as libraries, shops, and the works. She avoided humans as she was meant to and looked at them with nothing other than disgust, but was absolutely fascinated by all of the things she was able to see when her parents weren't hovering over her, similarly to how she treated them when she was a child (for a different purpose, of course). It didn't take long for Ch'era to become interested in Vanguard,
and the sights (and smells) of the various Rot that lingered farther from the civilization she inhabited repulsed the regal female, giving her an idea to become part of Vanguard.

Her parents were infuriated once they found out about her expenditures during the night and even moreso when the topic of the Vanguard was brought up. At this point, she was nineteen years of age, had gone through the "passing down of the sword ceremony" and already had all that she needed to follow the path she was intent on pursuing. The beliefs of her family remain instilled in her brain, but the white-haired female told her parents with
a light in her heterochromic eyes that she was going to live her life the way she saw fit. Her parents reluctantly agreed, since they did not want to lose the heir of the home, but it wasn't going to be the same after she left for Vanguard.

Telekinesis - William only specialises in Telekinesis. He does not know any other form of magic. As such, he has an extremely potent force behind the magic, aided by his incredible natural aptitude for it. This means he has incredible power and durability behind each telekinetic spell cast, but a high lack of control and accuracy over it. A loose glass cannon, per se.
The range of his magic is a 50ft radius.
Anything influenced by William's magic gains a purple glow effect around it for as long as he interacts with it. Invisible stuff like air will not gain the glow effect until something visible comes into contact with it, however it will shimmer.

Technological Equipment:

Handheld EMP - An Electromagnetic Pulse device that shorts out all electronics in a 10ft radius, looks like a small remote. Has 6 charges before it needs to be recharged.

Strengths:

Natural Magical Aptitude - William is naturally very attuned with magic and the use of mana. He can sense it in the world around him as a substitute for not being able to see. 75ft range.
This also means William has an unusually high mana count, more so than normal mages. In addition to this, William's Telekinesis is currently at level 4 overall, the power/durability of it being a level 6 and the control/accuracy being a level 1.

Silver-Tongued Brainiac - William is very quick witted with his words and actions. He seems to know just what to say at the right time and just what to do in a bad situation. Just because his magic is savage and basic right now, it does not mean William is. He is also fairly skilled at tactical/strategic combat decisions on a large and in-the-moment scale.

Team-Player - Although William more than excels at solo combat, he is very adept at working together with a partner or a team to achieve specific goals. Whether that be a team leader role, the strategist or just another member, William is perfectly fine with allowing himself to be aided by his friends or in turn helping them.

Weaknesses:

Sightless Perception - William is blind. He cannot see anything beyond what he can sense with mana, which has a 75ft range. (However his other senses like hearing, touch, taste and smell receive a minor boost. Nothing similar to vampires though.)

Magic-Dependant - William does not have much physical capability. He can dodge an attack simply because he can sense it coming, but otherwise he is no stronger, faster or durable than a normal human, perhaps even less so.

Obsessive Personality - William can become easily addicted to certain vices, causing him to lose who he really is and what he stands for. This can lead him to treat his friends and family differently, likely to cast them off in favour of his current addiction. This is part of the reason why he never really has many long-lasting friends or relationships.

Once hooked on a certain thing, he will crave it incessantly and stop at nothing to get it. A recurring theme with this, his parents and teachers have noticed, is obtaining power of some kind.

History

Living in one of the more richer areas in the nearby city to academy, William grew up with a more financially stable family. Well, they were rich family of noble decree, but that wasn't particularly important. William attended an all-male boarding school for academically talented individuals. The school's programme also offered courses on enticing magical energy from its students in hopes of creating powerful mages for the academy. Whilst the success rate was largely low, William was one of the lucky few to show promise in it. Years pass and now William had begun to discover his natural attunement with the magical energy that inhabited the world. He then trained himself under the school's teachings in the magic that came easiest to him: Telekinesis.

It was only the next year that tragedy befell William and the city he lived in. The Rot had arrived with a terrible siege to employ. The monster ravaged the urban landscape, killing any and all that dared to reveal itself within it's sight. All who looked into that single ethereal eye was blinded eternally, an ability that allowed for the decimation of the Academy detail sent to deal with the creature. Amongst its other deadly tricks, no one appeared to be a match for it, including William. Thanks to his ability to fling himself away from the battle in time, William could not save his friends or family, nor his eyesight - stolen from him by that monster. Near-broken and beyond despair, William was picked up by the Vanguard to live in a surrounding Hamlet to continue his training and live peacefully until the next assault. William did not find out what happened to that Rot that had attacked, but he assumes it was either driven away or it simply left. It was around this time that William's more promiscuous behaviour began. Living in an all-boy boarding school left much to the imagination on woman and William had had a more than a slight midlife crisis, leading to a slight deviation in his personality. He needed a vice and had decided that it would become the female attraction. The next few years were filled with growing accustomed to his blindness, which was made easier by his natural magical talent, training his skills and magic and flirting with anything female in sight. Today will be his first proper day at the Vanguard, however he does know a few of the staff around already.

Strengths:

Gym Junkie - Kypher spends an enormous time down at the gym, improving his physical body. He has an incredible amount of muscle mass, thus increasing his natural strength, durability and stamina beyond what normal vampires possess.

Pureblood Lineage - Due to his Pureblood father, Kypher has gained some traits from him. The density of his muscles are extremely packed and his body is naturally athletic. Added to his regular gym schedule, this further increases his natural strength, durability and speed.

Boundless Courage - Kypher can never be deterred from something that he is focused on. It takes a lot to scare or disorientate him and his bravery has and will continue to save many lives as he protects his friends/comrades.

Weaknesses:

Sensory Imperception - Kypher has very average senses in terms of his sensory system and other vampirical natural senses. Given that these are not particularly work-out related physical enhancements, it will be very difficult for Kypher to improve upon them.

Knucklehead - Kypher is not the smartest individual. He can hold up a conversation well enough, he's not a braindead lump of muscle, but in terms of tactics or general diplomacy/subtlety, he is rather lacking. He is more of a doer than a speaker, actions over words. As such, he is not one for wordplay or the finer things in life, satisfied with living a more simple existence.

Undying Loyalty - Although this can be a strength, Kypher is loyal to a fault, doing whatever needs to be done to save his friends and comrades. No order is too tall as he dives into harm's way for the sake of saving other's lives with complete disregard for his own. Bashful, headstrong and daring, Kypher contains boundless courage within himself, possessing an acute idea of honour and glory being something won in beautiful combat. A bit of a battle nut, Kypher loves to fight and will never shy away from one. History:

Alois was the youngest in his family and was also the only boy born into the family. Having three older sisters meant that he was used as their personal dress up doll. Even his own mother encouraged them and he was basically treated like their younger sister for awhile. It didn't help that had a girlish face. His pureblood family had always been well respected but Alois was nothing like his traditional father. He often left home for adventures and would get into trouble in his attempt to have fun. No matter how many times his father lectured him on proper etiquette he was still proud of his sons skill when it came to his fighting ability and the technique that was passed down his family.
It changed when Alois had his first encounter with those affected by the Rot. He was exploring a small forest and was attacked by a Rotten. Alois took some damage from that fight because he had no real battle experience but was able to discover his love killing the enemy. In an attempt to correct Alois' behavior, his father made the decision to send him to the academy and that it would be a place for him to put his excess energy in a productive way.

• Blink: the mage uses a set amount of magic to teleport a certain distance nigh instantaneously. The longer the distance, the higher the cost.​
Technological Equipment:
• A high tech sniper rifle, designed by him to be lighter than other rifles with the same amount of power. It's also user friendly in terms of accuracy, making for easier long distant and powerful shots. At the academy, he would like to improve it so that it can work with and enhance magic. It does not have a name yet.​
Strengths:
• 20/10 vision: this is better than normal and makes him an excellent and observant sniper.
• He's above average in gun handling, but has some more to learn.
• Intelligent: in the mechanical sense. He made his own weapon, for example, and can fix machinery if he's given some time with it.​
Weaknesses:
• Being a bit of a nerd, Mason has never been physically stronger or faster than his peers, making him for a weak melee opponent at the moment.
• Although able to use magic, it is very difficult for him and he often feels discouraged from using it.
• Book smart Mason is, street smart he is not. He can be gullible and clueless at times.​

Personality: Unlike the typical loser nerd, Mason is as engaged and extroverted as he is intelligent. He likes being around others and learning about them and their lives. He has a literal sense of humor, and it's easy for some jokes to go over his head making for a bad sense of humor. Regardless, he is friendly and seems to recover quickly when he slips up in social situations. Going along with that, he doesn't like confrontation and backs down when intimidated; but he won't refrain from mumbling snarky, passive-aggressive complaints.

Fears: Mason fears failing at the Academy. He fears being disliked or alone. He fears making the wrong decisions in life and death matters. He fears vampires, as well, especially since he'll have to work with them. He feels pressure of living up to his brother's name for his parents and Reiner, but this manifests as more of as an anxiety than a fear.

History: Mason was an accident to his parents, born well over ten years after his older brother, Ray. Regardless, he was loved and cherished as the baby of the family as he grew up, making him relatively sheltered and spoiled compared to his brother. Even as a small child, he had a knack for putting things together: building blocks, Legos, log cabins, etc. He liked to build and create new things. His father owns an autoshop, which is where he spent a lot of his childhood, learning about cars and how they work.

When he was still a child, his brother was recruited to fight against the Rot. When his brother died doing so, however, the family was devastated. Mason's parents grew even more protective over him. He fought against the grief in his own way, however, and dove into his studies as he grew. His grades, projects, and volunteer work throughout middle school and high school would earn him multiple awards and scholarships. His intelligence and book smarts was attention grabbing, to say the least, and through it he realized he wanted to wanted to help make the world a better place.

What he understood to be because of his achievements, he was approached by a vampire named Reiner toward the end of his high school career. He learned from him that Ray had been his partner when he was killed in action. He hadn't been approached because of his success, but rather because of something much more personal: after losing his brother, Reiner had wanted a new partner in Mason. Surprised and shocked by the news--especially from a vampire--Mason took some time warming up to the idea. Eventually, though, he decided that if he could be grow to be what his brother had wanted to be--a defender against the Rot--he could make the world a better place. Surprising his parents, he left for the academy straight out of high school.

Akihiro is a very laid back person. Preferring to not worry too much about life because he's very content everything the way it is. He always prefers to resolves conflicts without having to resort to violence. Not to say he is a complete pacifist as if the situation calls for it, especially any where Hanako's life is threatened, Akihiro flips the kill switch from light hearted vampire to deadly killer.

His ultimate fear is living a life without Hanako. She is one of the greatest parts of his life, and a future without her is one that's not worth living for him.
History - Born into the Kamiya family. Akihiro's duty, destined from birth, was to be a loyal guardian of the Yamada clan. This progressive family pioneered Human-Vampire relations in Japan through active cooperation with the Yamada clan over two centuries ago. By becoming their guardians and hit men, the Kamiya family greatly strengthened the grip that the Yamada family had over the criminal underworld of Japan. Akihiro's birth was the result of a closely knit relationship with humanity being a thin blood vampire.

From an early age, Akihiro was trained in the martial arts and was groomed to become a warrior for the Yamada clan. Compared to his other family members he was the runt of the pack, severely lacking in pure strength that his median vampires brothers and sisters had. He was close to quitting until one day he met the daughter of Gin Yamada, Hanako. The two became close friends over time. The two played with each other and created a close bond that could not easily be broken over the years.

Through her friendship, Akihiro was inspired to train harder to overcome the obstacles that stood in his way. Over time he proved to be the deadliest warrior of his generation as his indomitable nimbleness and speed made him difficult to fight against. In addition to this, his close bonds with Hanako grounded him in reality on top of his thinblooded-ness made it so that he rarely ever lost control of his senses and fell into a beast state, even when pushing himself to his blood consuming limits. Because of this important relatioship, Akihiro was deisgnated to become Hanako's personal guard by Gin Yamada.

Now Akihiro heads to the Academy with Hanako to continue his service as her guard as well as become a student in the art of war to combat the threat of The Rot.

Technological Equipment
Postavlyat Ustroystvo Mana Dogoda-13 (Dog13): A mana supply system that collects and filters mana from its surroundings, developed by Dazbog Co. It is less efficient than the Drain spell, and takes over a day to recharge fully. Upon deploying, it restores 20 mana to the user. It resembles a capsule about 15 cm long and 5 cm wide, and operates on a rather long-lasting battery. Chargeable and noted to be quite a l sturdy piece of equipment. It is considered a staple equipment for both beginning and veteran mages of the great Motherland. Affectionately termed 'Doggy' by many users. Gale has three of his own personal supply.

Postavlyat Ustroyvsto Mana Dogoda-13a (13A): An offshoot of the Dog13, created purely by accident, and was later used anyway as proper equipment. The 13A is a highly unstable version of the Dog13. It resembles and operates exactly like the Dog13, but instead of supplying its user with mana, it instead releases a large amount of mana in a small area, allowing mages with the Drain spell to restore their mana. The 13A has been modified to have a larger capacity for such utility, but has not been fitted with a faster absorption machine, making it charge at a rate of 100% slower than the Dog13. Gale has only one of these, gifted to him as a present from a visit to his father’s workplace once.

Samozaryadnyj Pistolet Triglav (SPTriglav):
A semi-automatic pistol created for the sole purpose of aiding mages in the combat zone. As a norm, it fires 9mm rounds, allowing for proper combat without mana. It, however, also comes with pre-loaded magazines of mana, which can be filled by the mage using it, or by other means, such as the Dog13. Also a staple of Russian military magic troops. The mana shots are as lethal as they come, perhaps even more so than their 9mm counterparts.

Gale Ainsmith is a man of many masks, charismatic, flexible, and able to be as many people as he so chooses to fit the atmosphere. A sweet-talking, extroverted flirt of a lady who charms the men, a polite, silver-tongued gentleman who plays the ladies, or a well-read military scholar who holds no interest in anything but several topics of magic and warfare. Gale is a natural entertainer, and can hold a conversation for hours, if he so chooses, participating in any talk whatsoever on any topic.

His true face, however, is a loyal friend, and a loving son. To those he is close to, he acts much more naturally around them. Where his jokes can be forced and his smile set convincingly in concrete around others, it is much easier to see that he beams much more genuinely around Ellise Volkov and the Ainsmith couple. His brand of humor usually revolves around overly dramatic recitations of popular poems and plays, and trying his hardest to make Ellise crack a smile of her own is one of his life’s goals. He calls his parents often to ensure that they are alright and doing well and occasionally sends them some cash their way.

He has long stopped caring about his physical...disabilities. To insult him on it would elicit a response of wanton uncomfortable sexual advances, extremely uncomfortable baring of skin, and the sultriness of his voice turned up all the way to 11, just to show just how high he can take his acting ability to make others squeamish. It is unwise to try and test him. Thankfully, not many know of his actual gender...

Gale is also known for an uncanny ability to remain calm and collected even in the heat of the situation. As soon as he fixes his hair and the band he wears on the side of his long hair, he is able to focus entirely on his task at hand without distraction. Even as hell comes to earth around him, he is able to remain cool and unfazed, and can recite his incantations perfectly even under extreme pressure. He feels fear like any other man, but his sheer determination to see his job to the end pushes that fear back until he is finished. It is only after the ordeal is over that he lets himself collapse and breathe a sigh of relief. This is the kind of man that Gale Ainsmith is.

History
Joshua and Elizabeth Ainsmith were both mages of high accord and status in the cold wintry land of Russia, one an esteemed researcher in magitech weaponry, and the other a powerful mage by her own right. And they both loved each other very much. These were Gale Ainsmith’s parents, and despite their working hours in the military sector, both still managed to set aside time to take care of their child and attempt to raise him well. It didn’t matter to them that he was born unnaturally frail and thin, that he went through his entire life never ever looking like the boys in his class, or even that they often, if not always, mistook him for a girl. Hell, even if he had never grown up loving his father’s work and exploring the possibilities of his potential in magic, they would have loved him all the same.

Gale was strange, physically. He had nothing. Sure, he had a penis, but that was all. His shoulders were only slightly broader than his hips, but his build was slim enough that it was easily hidden by loose clothing. He never developed breasts for obvious reasons, but these were times where under-developing women were a common thing, not at all strange. While initially worried, his parents sooner or later realised their son was more than capable of handling himself at school, even if it meant acting like the other sex. At school, at occasions, he could turn up the charm of either gender, flirt, and get along well with either sides, but at home, he was their son, a filial, loving, kind son.


He fell in love sometime in his teenaged years, with a girl who hated men. A girl who never saw him as anything but Gale Ainsmith. Sure, she thought he was a she, but that was purely semantics. She never really wondered about the world, a naive girl new to the world at large. He never really called anyone a ‘friend’, and kept to himself, even when socialising. Ellise Volkov, however, was someone he just couldn’t ignore and leave alone. He made a childish pact with her to be her friend, in exchange for homework he had forgotten to bring, just to keep an eye on her. Through the years they spent together, he never left her side, and his heart soon became hers, though she would probably never know it.


During high school, he realised that he wanted to do more for Ellise. There were small periods of time where he left her side, in the hands of capable acquaintances, or when she was at home, to practice more on his magic, to one day wield it in her name. Even that was not enough. He tired easily, and, realising that this was possibly from the fact that he exercised little during his early years, he planned and scheduled out a strict training regimen for himself. There was just no way that he would let Ellise be the strength of their partnership forever. He maintained his slender build- the training was not severe enough to change it, but was sufficient to improve on his stamina and strength. From there, he simply went on to perfect the one spell amongst his arsenal, the most vital one.

When they finally graduated, Gale was quick to disagree with his parents when they asked if he wanted to join the military, preferring instead to try and land further education in a foreign university. He was convinced that was what Ellise would want as well. Much to his horror, she decided to sign up as part of the Vanguard forces. Wasting no breath, he followed suit after her, insisting to her that yes, this was what he always wanted. This was a cross he was willing to bear. Anything for her.

Weaknesses
- Reluctance to fight/kill human or vampire combatants - Due to past trauma, mostly involving her duel with Yuuki, Hanako has trouble bringing herself to fight other people. In the case that a comrade goes rogue (ie a vampire going into a Frenzy) she is very much helpless in that kind of situation as it becomes nearly impossible for her to draw her sword let alone elect to fight against a friend.
- Sleep Deprivation/Insomnia - Also related to her duel with Yuuki, most nights of sleep are ruined by memories of the duel and being haunted by the mangled ghost of her sister. These nightmares cause her to be less rested than others 60-80% of the time, reducing her effective mana regeneration.

Personality: She is cold for the most part, distancing herself from others because she neither trusts people nor herself around others. Tending to stick away from crowds and staying close to people she is familiar with. However, things were not always this way, prior to her fight with Yuuki, Hanako was very dedicated, passionate, and fiery about her life. Prideful to the point of hubris because of her achievements and family heritage.

History: Hanako's life began 17 years ago in a room within the Yamada castle. She was one of a pair of fraternal twins belonging to the heads of the Yamada clan, Gin and his late wife Reiko, who died in childbirth due to severe unforeseen complications. The Yamada clan were a wealthy family known for their dealings in the criminal underworld. Hanako and her sister, Yuuki, began life in blissful ignorance of their family's dreadful occupation.

However that veil of innocence would be broken just as quickly as erected when the two sisters began going to school. Having an escort was a dead giveaway, but more importantly every teacher and student seemed scared of them or acted differently around them. As Hanako tried to make friends, she realized that her family's name always tread before her, ruining any meaningful friendship she could make. One vampire boy, two years her senior, changed her grim look on life, the vampire's name, Kamiya Akihiro. Around him, she felt comfortable being herself as he did not care about trying to make sure to please her every whim or be afraid of having their family killed for hurting her. Akihiro was Hanako's first real friend because of his genuine care for her.

As the year's passed, Hanako began to understand her duty as the heiress of the Yamada household. She dedicated herself to everything she did and pushed herself to her limits to fulfill her destiny. Excelling in academics, practicing the martial arts day in and day out, and learning the ways of a mage were part of her daily routine for eight years leading up to her 16th birthday. However this was not the way of her sister, her sister enjoyed the luxuries of the family's wealth. Yuuki slacked off in her classes, getting only passing marks in traditional academia and skipping out on lectures the mages in the family would give. Her only redeeming factor was that she was naturally more physically gifted and much more capable in the martial arts like Kenjutsu and Kenpo. Despite Yuuki's truant nature, Gin would show her an over abundant amount of grace because Yuuki was becoming a spitting image of her mother. Meanwhile, Hanako would be scolded or even beat for anything less than perfect, and this caused the girl to envy her sister and plot against her.

One day she overheard a conversation between Yuuki and some of her friends and found out that she had no intention of carrying on the family business. should even go as far as join the police to fight against the Yamada clan. Enfuriated, Hanako revealed her sister's plans to her father, and in turn he was enraged that his precious daughter would dare to think about betraying the family. So that night, both sisters were called into the dojo, and Gin ordered Hanako to strike down her sister. Hanako did as she was told, but Yuuki and rebelled and drew out a sword of her own. The ensuing skirmish was ferocious, displaying each sister's strength in magic and combat. While the battle was heavily in favor of Yuuki, Hanako came on top and dealt what seemed to be a fatal blow to Yuuki.

Realizing the extent of her actions, Hanako became full of remorse. Her vengeance filled campaign against Yuuki ended in her taking the life of someone that she also loved dearly. The girl wanted to atone for her sins and found the perfect option. Hanako soon applied to the Academy with a new goal to become a vanguard of humanity in the fight against The Rot, knowing she would either die and be at peace with herself or live to the end knowing she did something right for the world.

Due to his bloodline and Family reputation, he strives to be a man of sound moral principles, and would stand by them no matter what it cost him. He can be stubborn and hard-headed when he believes he is right, and refuses to be convinced otherwise unless the opponent manages to bring sound logic into the argument. He refrains from judging people by first impression alone, and usually reserves his opinion until he knows them better.


In the eyes of mere acquaintances, he is an uptight person. However, he actually has a humorous side, often displayed in the form of dry or sarcastic comments, especially when hanging around the people he trusts. Those on that list includes his family, a few select childhood friends – both humans and vampires. Reiner rarely allows himself to act very carefree, loud and active unless in a place he feels safe, such as his home or the Academy. He is relatively caring in that while he doesn’t believe in concealing the truth no matter how harsh it may be. He will break the news gently if that person is close to him, or is in visible distress.

While Reiner might be a hard person to offend with his seemingly endless patience, he can't stand being belittled since he tries his best in anything he sets his mind to, and can get rather competitive, especially if that particular person proves rather challenging. His temper is a slow simmering fire, not easily coerced to rearing up and retaliate, but the right trigger works like kerosene, making it explosive and abruptly, but dwindles down quickly. The right trigger? Threatening anyone he cares deeply about.


Having gone through war and been on the frontlines before against the Rot, Reiner had witnessed some pretty horrific scenes and experiences that still haunts his memories at present. Hence, he is prone to be plagued by bouts of nightmares, waking up covered in cold sweat, eyes darting around to look for the enemy. After repetitive occurences, he took to working himself to exhaustion before falling into a deep, dreamless slumber. This resulted in him being an insomniac, only catching a few hours rest each day. It is not unusual for him to sleep with Ansgar close at hand.

History : Reiner, the youngest in his family and the youngest of five siblings, was born about six years before the Rot. As such, by the time he grew into maturity, the alliance between human and vampires had already been in play for a while. Of course, the memories of both sides being enemies for so long was still a sore spot for select few within each race, but it’s not something he was deeply influenced by as his parents were not one to enforced their views on their children even if they did live through an extremely long period where humans and vampires were mortal enemies.


Like most of the older generations of both races, his parents, siblings and relatives were involved in the war between humans and vampires, but when the Rot came, they were wary about taking to the frontlines to fight since these creatures were so different from anything they have ever experienced. The entire Kleist Family withdrew for a short time and as such didn’t participate in the first couple of experimental runs involving the exchange of blood between a human and a vampire to create a bond. They were sceptical about the success rate of pairing mortal enemies together. Of course, the first few volunteers of the bonding were met with varying success as both parties needed to learn how to cooperate, to use their strengths to their advantage and cover their partner’s weaknesses. As years passed with continued alliance between the two races, trust between them grew, which led to more potential pairs forming.


One of Reiner’s older sister, Lena, was the first in their family to make firm friends with a middle-aged human female, a refugee displaced by an attack for the Rotten. The human was an apt arcane user who desired to join the military in fighting the Rot, partly for revenge and partly since she didn’t really have much in life to live for anymore. Lena became convinced by her to enter the Academy together and eventually, the pair forged a blood link. Reiner’s parents didn’t approve of Lena’s risking her life on the frontlines with only her human partner watching her back, but they didn’t stop her. While his other siblings wavered between desiring to join the war to make a difference and the insecurity of being mentally bonded to a human, Reiner was 100% supporting Lena’s decision, because someone needed to fight. If he was old enough and had a partner he could trust, he would sign up for the war without second thoughts. Unfortunately, all the humans he encountered so far didn’t click with him. That was, until he met Ray (name still undecided).


Near the edge of the town/city they lived in is an elevated ground that allows one to overlook the destroyed and crumbling landscape beyond, and is a place Reiner usually frequents when he wanted some peace and quiet to himself. It was also where he met the eccentric human teen. They eventually bonded over fretting over the fate of their family members who went to war as well as the determination to enlist when Ray was old enough. Three years later, Ray was old enough and the pair enlisted in the Academy. They spent a couple of years training, learning how to work flawlessly together as a close-combatant unit. However, Ray died a few years after forming the bond and entering the frontlines when a Rotten slipped past Reiner’s guard and killed his partner. He would have died that day too had another unit not intervened and pushed the creature back while Reiner was paralysed with shock, agony and grief.


With his partner gone, Reiner was forced to withdraw from the front until he found another partner. While he felt guilty for even thinking about it, Reiner already had another potential partner in mind: Ray’s younger sibling. He has never seen them personally, but Ray was always going on and on about them, so it was his thought that if they loved Ray as much as he heard, they would be all for joining him to take revenge. During the period in which he searched for Ray’s younger sibling, he inflicted punishment via blood-starvation on himself in an attempt to make up for his partner’s death.


Reiner found Mason after some time, but trust was slow to come from Mason as they blame Reiner for not looking out for Ray and his parents were reluctant to allow Mason to fight in the war so it took a little longer until both party were willing enough to enlist in the Academy together. However, in addition to Mason being new to everything from fighting Rot to learning about them, Mason's style of combat is also very different from Ray’s, meaning Reiner is entering the Academy as a senior officer again in order to change his own style to better fit his new partner’s.

2) Barriers: Using her mana, she is able to create a shield before her that can be manipulated according to her will. Of course, the larger the barrier is, the more mana is required to sustain it. However, this barrier cannot be cast over another target as she still doesn’t have the finesse required to do so. So far, she used herself as the focal point to throw a barrier in front of. Technological Equipment: Grappling hooks in the shape of small disks attached to her belt at the hips. These small devices enable her to cover short distances much quicker and is a rather important factor when she is in combat as her life would depend on how fast she can get within range before the enemy locks onto her.


Dual power fists: Large titanium-steel gauntlet surrounded by an energy field that disrupts solid matter. The energy field is fuelled by a piece of battery inserted into the gauntlet itself. Once that battery runs out, the power fist would just be another sledgehammer-like gauntlet. It is slower to swing in combat, and so the bearer must learn to dodge quickly if they fail to hit during the initial blow, or be ready to take a hit before counter-attacking. The benefits of the power fist are that it increases the strength and weight of the user’s blows due to the ballistic pistons and material’s denseness. The claws at the end of each finger allows the user to not only have the ability to pulverise, but pierce and rip. But of course, another drawback of the power fist is that it requires good endurance and stamina, or else swinging it around in combat will tire the user out quickly, especially if the energy field around the gauntlets die.

Personality: Rin tries to be indifferent and calm towards any situation like her father, but she always end up reverting back to her constantly bright-eyed expression. As an optimist, she does and meets everything with a smile upon awakening, so unless one knows her very well, it is hard to tell what she really feels. Many find this aspect of her unsettling, and it has put her in difficult positions in the past when her smiles were taken as a gesture of insult. Despite her seemingly fixed expression, Rin is a terrible liar. Her bottom lip shiver when she fibs and hence she refrains from outright lying. The best she can do is deflect and hope nothing was given away.


Mild-mannered and quick to banter with people she has worked with before or anyone she feels comfortable around, she is serious when life and death matters (especially if it is her life on the line) and will do whatever it takes to complete the task (or at least remain alive). She works best under pressure or if she is self-motivated to accomplish a certain thing. If not, she is pretty lax and uninitiative until a superior gives her a command. Most of the time, she is content to go with the flow as it is easier than going against, especially if she has no opinions on the matter. Rin has utmost respect for good leaders and admires those who have the courage to stand up for their beliefs, no matter if the world is against them.

History: Born into a family of blacksmiths as the second child, Rin was a relatively bright child due to ignorance of the wider, realistic world. Her brother, Hyun-Won, who was six years her senior, took care of her whenever their parents were busy in the forge crafting farming tools or machinery parts to sell. Having spent most of her early childhood around her older brother, it was not at all strange that she would look up to Hyun-Won as both a role model and her closest confidant. As soon as she reached her sixth birthday, clan tradition meant that she would begin her blacksmith training by being the errand girl for the workers down at the forge.


However, Rin certainly didn’t want to be stuck in a hot, musky place running back and forth for however long her parents decided for her. And she certainly didn’t want to work metal for the rest of her life. Not when there were more interesting things out in town for her to explore. More specifically, she wanted to check out the dojo a street away from their house. So instead of working at the forge like instructed, Rin continued to sneak out early in the morning to spy on the martial arts trainees even if she did cop hell when she returned home. While her parents were furious at her apparent disinterest in learning the family arts, Hyun-Won went to talk with the owners of the dojo, asking them if they could teach Rin for a small fee every month.


When Rin turned twelve, a group of Vanguard recruiters visited her town, and Rin was completely hooked on the speech they sold to the crowd that promised glory, fame and honour. From then, she trained harder with the aim of entering the Academy once she was old enough. It was also then that she supposed learning the art of blacksmith might help her in her future endeavours. With her brother’s help and more years of struggling in the forge, she managed to piece together power fists that worked seamlessly with her preferred style of fighting. Months of dedicated tinkling before her nineteenth birthday allowed her to familiarise herself with all parts of her equipment so she wouldn’t need to look for an engineer in order to repair it if something happened. As her nineteenth birthday came and passed, she decided that she was ready enough to join the Academy, and look for a field partner sometime later.

At first glance, Ann is usually a cheery, obnoxious and slightly perverted girl with a penchent for hitting on people she finds attractive if given the chance. She's also a bit of a prankster, pulling small, usually harmless pranks on her friends. While she tends to go overboard at times, she will try to make it up to anyone she has wronged.

But deep down, Ann is a very lonely person with deep seated commitment and confidence issues. She manages to hide it well by putting up a happy and bubbly front but it cracks when she's under pressure. All this linking back to her past bullying by other kids.

History:
Annaliese Cromwell, or Ann as she'd rather be called, was raised by her single mother, Marie, until about the age of 5 when a bad fever claimed Marie's. Since she never knew who her father was, she was sent to a government sanctioned human orphanage. While she never really found out, she was the one responsible for her mother's death after she sacrificed her well being by withdrawing blood to feed her child. A fact that the matron kept hidden for Ann's own sake. But the entire time, Ann had a feeling that she was different.

Her food was different, she was kept away from the other human children, and it seemed that only the caretakers were nice to her. Despite her attempts to make any friends, the kids were either fearful or downright cruel. She was called names, bullied, and even had her few belongings vandalised. But despite all that, she soldiered through thanks to her own tenacity, wits, and the occasional fist fight. Her caretakers are at wits end on how to deal with the bullying when a solution arrived.

Every few weeks or so, a couple of Vanguard soldiers would visit the orphanage to interact with the children. For them, it was to remind them of their reason for fighting. For the children, it was a chance to meet their saviors and heroes. For Ann, it was the first time she met a vampire, a snarky and confident one named Axel Lorenz. He and his partner, Julia Valois, first noticed Ann standing a little distance away from the other kids and approached the shy girl. 'First contact' didn't go as planned with Ann biting Axel's hand but the next few attempts by Julia came through. With Axel's help, (after another minor fight) Ann slowly learnt to get used to her vampire abilities and find her true identity. Ann finally had people she could confide in the form of Brother Axel and Sister Julie. She would eagerly await their vists for Axel's stories and Julia's mostly edible cookies.
Axel never came again.

To say that she was heartbroken would be an understatement. Ann was devestated when she finally learnt of his fate but she remembered his advice: "Its always darkest before dawn, so cheer up kiddo! And keep that head held high!" With that little gem of advice in mind, Ann decided to join the Vanguard. To protect the world she was born in and to honor Vanguard's sacrifice.

Aceline could be described as venomous, brash, or brazen. Either word would be befitting for this little vampire. Shes not the friendliest of sorts but at least its contained within herself, she doesnt just go around being rude to people, you really only find out if you talk to her. Shes has a tough heart, but a heart none of the less, its just buried somewhere in there. Aceline really only shows compassion and sympathy to those she sees are really down and out, and have no one else to go to. Even so, shes not the best to go to for those type of things but she'll be a good listener.

Ace doesnt really care about the opinions of others, or what other people think about her. She isnt there to impress anyone or get people to like her so she could care less. But she does stand up for the little guy (see? Not completely heartless) if someone defenseless needs help, she'll attempt to offer it. So although shes a bit of a thorn, she isnt afraid to go with whats right and speak her mind about it.

What ever, if you really want to know then I guess I could shed some light. Lets see...uhhh my parents gave birth to my brozer (brother) and I, he is a human, but I took after our fazer(father). Our parents explained to us that I caused my brother to be as weak as he was when he was just a baby but hey i didnt do it on purpose. I wasnt really close with my mozer(mother), I spent more time with my fazer. He would take me out and talk about our 'Family lineage' and zings(things) like zat (that). Yes he was a...how you say, strict guy, but I always got my way. I was able to perfect my skills in 'persuasion', I can talk my way in and out of things, just to get what I want.

He was always proud of me, but Ty struggled a little to get ze same praise from our fazer. I could never really understand zat considering he was ze(the) one with the magic abilities...hm... Well regardless my brother and I are very close. Yes Im a little jealous about his magic and all zat but I cant do anything about it. Mozer adored him, always had him by her side.

When we got older, zings(things) became different. We were allowed to make our own decisions and coming here was one of zem. What? No i wasnt following my brozer here, did he say zat?? "Growing up was...like any other family, I think. It was, my mom, father, sister and I under one roof. My dad was a man of wealth, from what I understand, when he met my mother. Falling in love with a human was...unheard of in his family, let alone having children with one but, they had something great I guess. Course, I could never imagine what he was like before I, or...we were born. It...didnt even sound like the man I knew when my mother would tell us stories about their relationship.

My father was....a very hard man. Tough and old fashioned I'd say. Which wasnt entirely bad, I mean, he made it a point to teach my sister and I manners and respect and all that but he was especially hard on me. He spoiled my sister, loved her, and obviously favored her. I know it was because she took the Vampire gene, but you know, not like I had a choice. They connected very well, shes definitely a daddy's girl, but I cant blame her. He spent a lot of time with her growing up, he taught her more French than he did with me, hell, she even got his accent. I think....my mother noticed this so, she spent a lot of time with me, teaching me to be loving and kind to others, showing me things and telling me stories, things mothers do. Shes a very kind woman, could never, never hurt a fly, real heart of gold.

She told me that when I was born, they didnt think I would live very long. Something about, my sister making me weak, I didnt quite get it then but appearently in the case of fraternal twins, like my sister and I, the child with the blood-sucking gene sort of...kills the other I guess. I was very weak and had...a variety of issues, my heart, under developed lungs, frail bones, you name it. Growing up was hard, and my father saw me as a weak child, always saying I was lucky to be living another day. I was never really sure if he was saying that in relief or..as a threat............ Anyway, after a while I sort of grew out of all that, by the time I was 12 the only problem I had was asthma and that was over with by the time I was 14.

Aceline was the crown jewel of our family, at least it seemed that way. On my fathers side, at least, they were all over her since birth. My mothers side of the family just kind of saw her as a monster in the making...for the record they werent a huge fan of my mothers and fathers marriage but there was no stopping them.

After all that was...the academy I guess. That was our choice, my sister and I, to attend. My parents didnt like it too much but they recognized how quickly we were growing and allowed our own decision making. It was really my choice, my sister just sort of...tagged along. We're inseperable, she wont admit but she cant stand to be away from me. I mean we're twins! We have a bond other siblings dont have, if she didnt follow shed miss me too much!

Strengths

Fearless- It takes a specific vampire to be able to withstand the full impact of an attack from a Rotten. It takes a specific kind of MAN to do it without flinching in the slightest. Countless battles with the Rot have left this pureblood unfazed to practically any threat.

Selfless- Van is the true definition of a Vanguard. He stands before all adversity and willingly receives every blow coming. He does not do this for himself or to show off. Rather, he does this to protect those behind him. Van understands what it means to be the first and last line of defense in battle.

Iron Will- This vampire has a will of Iron and a heart of Steel. Whether this is attributed to the horrors he has seen over the years on the battlefield or to his unyielding resolve to push on remains to be seen. Possibly both.

Master Combatant- While he may have walked in a clueless nobleman, Van left the academy as a modern battle-hardened warrior and chose to stay as a senior officer at the Academy. He has continued to hone his skills and vampiric prowess over the years thtiugh training and live combat. The german man has become a force to be reckoned with by man and Rotten alike.

Heart made full metal- It is said that this vampire's will is iron and that his heart is of steel. Sadly, steel is hard and cold. Decades of seeing brothers-in-arms, friends, partners, and even lovers fall have left him cold. Its not that he doesn't show emotion but rather, he has become numb to the horrors this world brings.

Headstrong- Even if the threat is something he can't handle, Vanilen is sure to charge head first into danger, even disobeying direct orders, if it helps save a few more lives.

Hard Knocks- While he is normally somewhat detached, Van is shockingly brutal and harsh when it comes to training the students. He is renown for having seriously injured students and he only gets harsher as they go up in ranks.

The Higher Things- Having grown up around pureblooded vampire nobility, Van has something of a stigma against oppressive, upturned purebloods. Despite being a pure blood himself.

Ancient Echoes- Van's bloodline is often regarded as one of the oldest, purest bloodlines among the existing pureblood families. This could be attributed to his uncanny prowess in his vampiric abilities but because it is one of the oldest and purest, that means its more primitive. Van requires more blood than normal, even for purebloods. He "eats" about as often as humans do. 3-4 times a day.

Van used to be as hopeful and courageous as any other new entry.

But the fight for survival against the Rotten has turned him into a completely different breed of man. Nevermind, different person.

The vampire can be described as....detached. Cold and unnecessarily harsh in training. Most people attribute this to the fact of his bloodline or the fact that he lost his mind in battle.

There are many of these "facts" that circulate throughout the school. But the true FACT of the matter, known only to his coworkers and few remaining friends, is that Vanilen just wants these recruits to be as prepared as possible. He rides the students as hard as he does because he wants them to be as ready as possible. The pureblood will gladly take the role of the hated officer with a million rumors spreading around the academy if it meant that a few less would die when they finally got out there.

No one is allowed to talk about how bad it really is. You cant let morale drop. He may seem like the absolute worst but he might very well be the one who cares the most.

Being the Officer with the most partner casualties and his cold, harsh
demeanor certainly does not earn him any allies.

There is a rumor that says Vanilen actually completely lacks a heart. That's why he has to drink so much blood. To make up for the fact he doesn't have a heart to pump it through his system.

There is a rumor that says, he keeps his partners around only as a
necessity and when he gets bored of them? It's lights out.

It's said that Vanilen actually drained all of his partners dry and just claimed that the Rot killed them. After all, he never looked like a complete mess after a partner died like....literally everyone.

It's said the reason for the rumor above is because Van has seen so much death, he practically became like death himself.

It's said that when Vanilen was sent out with 7 other units of Senior Officers to take down a Class B, he was the only survivor because he frenzied and killed everyone. Since there were no witnesses, no one could confirm whether or not there had been foul at work.

It's said that Vanilen actually wants to just watch everything crumble to dust around him. That he hates humanity and he is actually working for his family name, trying to gain the seat as the number 1 soon..

Many things are said about this man. This vampire. has more rumors swirling around him than a twister..

with long, straight, silky bright crimson hair that flows down her back, all the way to her waist, it is quite easy to spot the young female, despite her petite stature. her cerulean, ocean coloured eyes are usually alert and guarded. scar's posture is one of the utmost poise, like a soldier a part of the militia. there are times when she has trouble relaxing, especially when she has just finished her training, under the watchful eye of her father. although scarlet seems unapproachable from afar, she is far from it, especially when she is in the company of her acquaintances. nevertheless, she has quite the tough exterior, never allowing others to underestimate her abilities or strength just because of her size and age. scarlet has quite a well-toned and fitted figure, never allowing herself to indulge in food or "drinks" without the proper restrictions and exercise. however, despite the gruesome training from a young age, her femine features still show as she still keeps herself well maintained as a female. scarlet makes sure to moisturize every day and takes care of her skin thoroughly. there is nothing she likes more than keeping her hygiene up, especially after a long's day of hard work. however, there is one exception to this, it doesn't mean she hates getting down and dirty, but rather, she cleans herself up well and thoroughly, leaving no traces behind. scarlet has two pairs of ear piercings as she is normally seen wearing both pairs as well as a necklace given to her by her mother. she is never seen without out. at the same time, there is a slightly big slash scar on her left eye due to an incident with a rotten she had encountered. the wound has healed quite nicely, though it left a permanent mark on her face.

Amorette Leia Scarlet can be compared to a rose petal, the more you continue to pluck at her petals, the closer you get to who she really is. However, it's not going to be easy, so be careful on your way, or you'll be pricked by her thorns. She's quite mature for her age, thinking above and beyond most people her age. Scar, preferring to be called her last name "Scarlet" or "Scar" more than her first name "Amorette", is quick-witted and clever, always thinking above and beyond than needed. She thinks beyond the surface and in depth, which makes her quite the character as she is quite intelligent. Despite her baby-face and her small stature, she's a force to be reckon with [a little firecracker and a little miss sassy], especially if you tease her about her height and age. She speaks her mind and she's quite honest which makes her quite loyal to a fault to those she devotes herself to.

Scar is absolutely not a fan of dressing up, even for special occasions. She refuses to even acknowledge such article of clothings, pants and shirts are always the way to go. She doesn't like wearing dresses or skirts only because she feels as if they'll be in the way of her movements when she's challenging or dueling another person. She can be quite stubborn and strong-willed, yet at the same time, she has her goofy moments where she teases a lot of people. Scar pefers natural beauty than using make-up to cover her imperfections, in fact, she embraces every scar, ever bruise that she may recieve when she practices her skills and abilities. She enjoys challenging others, especially to a beer / ale drinking contest or challenging her strengths and might [she's seen as a rebel as she's drinking underage]. Scar loves choas, meaning, she enjoys rowdiness, fights, and and noises. She hates the silence since she hates knowing there's always a "calm before the storm". As rough, rowdy, and playful as she is, Scar can be quite an interesting person . . especially seeing the Rottens. Once she starts her fights and her "killing", she can't ever stop. With each bloodshed she causes, the more she feels alive as her adrenaline pumps through her bones. She enjoys the smell of blood and the "sound" of defeat. As long as she's around, she'd never back down from a fight.

She hates being bored, so usually she tends to play tricks or pranks on her down time, or she puts her nose in places it shouldn't, always being a busybody. Scar doesn't understand of personal space in the sense that she would ask personal questions to others, quite bluntly, though she doesn't have any ill intent towards her comments or questions. She's genuinely a good person, though people believe she's "two-faced" because once she's on the field, there's no sense in talking her out of it. She is quite serious in her duties. Of course when she's not in her "role", it's like she's a different person. Scar is definitely a "scary" person if messed with, as she's a badass, but if you're on her "good" side, then there's no trouble, whatsoever, but maybe a few pranks and challenges here and there. At the same time, Scar doesn't give her respect out freely, especially towards pompous asshats. She has manners, however, she picks and chooses who she wants to acknowledge and respect. Because of this, she is considered an instigator to where she can avoid confrontations, but because of her reckless and brashness . . well things can turn sour. . big time. Scar is the epitome of a woman who considers herself "one-of-the guys" despite her appearance. She's quite a tough cookie.

So, Scar knows when to have fun and when to be serious, so she can take a joke and can be quite the prankster as mentioned above. She's quite the actress, falling in-line quickly to whatever role she needs to get into. Sometimes, people mistake her role for who she truly is as a person and even then, she, herself, can get lost in that role to the point where she doesn't remember what's true about her and what's not. Because of this fault and her need to act beyond who she is, she gets overwhelmed sometimes and will go missing for a few weeks just to find time for herself and relieve the stress she holds inside. Scar hates when others worry for her and burdening others, so she keeps things to herself, even holding a facade to the point that she fools herself. Running away is her biggest issues, especially when it comes to herself, she gets conflicted and uncomfortable when things do not go her way and when she's wrong. Once the blame is all on her and she feels confined and trapped, she tends to revert back into a "safety net" where she goes on "auto-pilot" and runs away from everyone and everything. Be careful to not force or allow her to be emotionally distressed. Scar isn't great under pressure, she's very meticulous, anything out of order can throw her off balance.

her strengths include being able to adapt to her surroundings as she's able to play a part or a role rather well and quickly. she's considered a good actress, sometimes to the point of losing herself. scar is rather quite agile and swift, as she's quite fast and able to fit into small areas. despite her small size, she's good at close combat, being able to use daggers and her family heirloom, heartsbane [a blade] as her go-to weapons. she's quite good at taekwondo. scar rather hates technological advancements such as different type of guns, snipers, etc. as she prefers "old school style" combat. she may find bombs and their detonations interesting, but that isn't her "go-to" strategy. lastly, although scar prefers close combat and isn't keen on long distance combat, scar doesn't mind using crossbows as it's simple and easy to handle rather then long bows and such. regardless, she prefers sticking to her methods of close combat: martial arts, daggered knives, and her blade. aside from scar's fighting style and technique, scar is quite well-informed and intelligent, always keeping her eyes on alert and her ears open. she never has her guard down, especially when it comes to matters that attention is needed.

although scar is well advanced in taekwondo, there are some weaknesses to her strengths as she isn't good at other martial arts such as karate or muay thai. she has a limited amount of upper body strength and mass due to her petite stature. although she can build muscles and tone herself to be able to spar with opponents that are very much bigger than her, she will still be at a disadvantage. at the same time, because scarlet has a smaller muscles and body mass, she needs to have her weapons strictly hand-crafted for her size and weight [they are made only for her usage]. although scar is very intelligent and researches on many aspects of life such as plants. scar isn't well-versed in making poison or using them. she finds such methods as cheating, but if it must be done, then it must. on another note, aside from weaponry and her weakness in combat, scar sucks at emotions. she never knows what to say at the right time and can come off as cold and blunt. scar isn't good at long range combat so she doesn't use archery, snipers, or anything involving guns or other high maintenance items that do not come in her size or that she isn't familiar with.

Ofelia was born to a Spanish woman called Sasha who owned a cafe and a Scottish man named Allistor who owned a book store. The two stores were next to each other for years until they married and had Ofelia. Ofelia gained her love for books through her dad and her love for pie through her mum and enjoyed helping them both.

The reson that Ofelia is now so lonely and anti-social is because when she was younger she tried to be friends with everyone... but she was different to everyone, The girls never liked her because she wasn't girly and the boys didn't like her because she was a girl. -Pyromancy: The ability Yume has always shown the greatest talent and skill over, she trained specifically in it from a young age and has always had an interest with the burning red embers of a flam, a beacon of hope in the dark and a power that must be used in balance of it's destructive and constructive potential. She's rather skilful at it as well due to the tough training from her grandad at the dojo and her persistence in practicing whenever she could.

-Drain: An ability Yume was both taught and trained to use at a young age and in her grandads words one necessary for any strong pyromancer as it allows her to gain back the quickly used up mana from her main power.

Side Note: Yume has, once entering her teen years shown potential to learn elemancy but as of yet has not pursued it too much as her main focus went to pyromancy and secondarily drain.

Technological Equipment:
Two mechanical gauntlets, one for each hand, that when in use channel mana through them to increase the users strength significantly and evidently through their metal cover through out quite the decent punch. They up the heat on her impact to the point that though a last result may be able to ask least get a decent hit on a rot.

Strengths:
Fire Affinity: Yume has always shown great talent and skill in the art of pyromancy and as such has much better than most would at her age, this being aided by her grandads teachings and relentless training.

Physical Abilities: Yume physically is very strong and it shows on her body structure, hence her choice of non-magic weapon being a pair of mana infused gauntlets pose to the usual long distance choice.

Offense: Yume has an incredible attack strength stemming from her abilities and as such is rather dominant when it comes down to raw strength and power.

Resilience: Yume's training from childhood and stubborn personality has led to her being almost resilient to a fault, the girl just won't stay down no matter how many times you hit her there, she could be beaten and bleeding all over and she'd still rise up to face the challenge, 'Never give up, no matter what.' that's one of her favourite and most-loved mottos.

Positive-Aura: Just being around the girl can rub off a warmth and enjoyable feeling to others, her playful and fun-loving nature joint with her optimistic personality is just the combo to brighten up almost anyones day, not to mention her seemingly endless abundance of energy.

Weaknesses:
Fixed Focus: Because of her talent towards pyromancy and later on drain she's essentially excluded research or knowledge of other forms of magic wielding, making her very specific in her potential abilities.

Close Call: Having a high level of physical strength and her choice of weapon means Yume must be in closer range than many humans would want or choose with her enemies.

Stealth: Yume's fiery ability coupled with her rather loud and physical tactics mean she's not one for keeping a low profile as such, she always was the first to get caught in hide and go seek…. But then again she was the best finder the village had ever heard of!

Defense: Yume's hard-hitting and attack orientated ways mean that though she packs one heck of a punch she is also lacking a fairly decent amount when comparing to defence, this is balanced out by her Resilience and pain tolerance but still, there are only so many hits the girl can take.

Clumsy: The girl was never known for her grace or elegance, that's for sure. Though completely unintentional well- lets just say you wouldn't want to leave her around any fragile objects.

History:
Yume was found at abandoned in front of her grandparents dojo when only a few months of age, barely old enough to understand what was going on in the world around her, so innocent and so young, so fragile and delicate. Even to this day nobody seems to know what happened to her parents, where they went when they mysteriously disappeared that spring day so many years ago, the rustling of the trees so soft and yet the wind that night blew cold.

Her grandparents took her in and raised her as their own, her grandmother a caring a kindhearted woman and though the same could be said for her grandfather he showed it in his own kind of way, that which involved training her to become the next heir to their family name, the next in line to inherit their families history of great warriors and now with the rot- someone to protect those who needed it most. She was to begin learning as soon as she was old enough to at least mimic the action of a punch and strong enough to stand, from the very beginning she showed an immense talent for pyromancy, mastering the art of creating the flame quickly, but controlling it was a whole other matter.

She trained hard every day in order to repay a non-existent debt she felt she owed to them for taking care and raising her in their old age, for giving her a home when she had none and no matter what she was determined to make them proud. As she grew up she made many friends in the small village, it wasn't isolated so to say but a decent ways from the busy cities which though made them less of a target, it meant that when attacked they had to be ready. They played together and learnt together, shared dreams and goals with one another and all were accepted and given kindness there. Only two vampires lived within the village however, a pureblood and a thin blood who were apparently a couple, they were nice people but for some reason Yume always felt uneasy around the pair, smiling awkwardly and on occasion shooting them a wave before quickly scampering off with the rest of her group.

When in her pre-teens she'd made up her mind in going to join the battle against the rot, now even more determined than ever to try her hardest and work to her best capabilities in order to defeat the newfound enemy of mankind and vampire kind alike. After all- even if no one would say it…. She had her suspicions of where her parents went. But even with this thought she still continued to be hopeful that they were out there somewhere and maybe, just maybe if she became famous enough of a pyromancer they'd find her, and as such she wore the name of Kasai proudly in hopes of one day being reunited with them. It was also around this age that she began to show small signs of elemental magic potential, something that though her grandfather was curious of and nodded her towards following on with it she kindly denied, instead choosing to focus completely on the one she'd been learning her whole life, and now with the addition of drain to keep such a mana-consuming power fuelled.

But as for what happens next? Who knows….

Strengths:
Heightened Sense: Oppose from her already enhanced vampiric ability this is due to her sensitivity for the environment around her, mainly caused by the fact that she simply sits and listens a lot of the time, hearing the subtly movements or breaths of those around her, this makes sensing the movements of those around her incredibly easy.

Intelligent: Ellise is far above average when it comes to almost every school related subject and was suggested to skip grades early on in her education but refused due to it 'Affecting her childhood social study and development of outer world skills' whatever that meant to her grade six teacher.

Photographic memory: Fairly self-explanatory in nature Ellise is gifted with a photographic memory, only having to read a text once or twice to remember the entire thing practically by heart which is the main use of such a skill, but as such her directional sense is also rather decent, even if she isn't what you'd call the adventurous sort. It's even been joked such an ability would make you think she's more suited of a magical set of abilities for how handy it would come into remembering incantations and such.

Independant: From an extremely young age though not forced Ellise has been someone who takes care of both herself and others, though caring greatly she doesn't quite understand how to display her affections. She can cook, clean and most other things by herself making her even more reluctant to leave her correct logical and frankly robotic ways. The exceptions to such a rule being her best friend and most so her mother.

Fast Learner: Ellise picks up on and learns things to her quickly unless it's something she finds herself disliking or uncomfortable with, in particular she seems to drop her grades slightly when put in group projects, but otherwise she'll learn most classes within only a small period of time.

Weaknesses:
Easily Distracted: Ellise's habit of enjoying and lurking in the quieter areas means that when in loud or noisy places her focus can occasionally flicker and her concentration may not be a hundred percent at the time. Which to a normal person wouldn't make too much difference but to someone with enhanced senses it can cause a decently strong effect.

Pasifist Route: Ellise chooses not to fight in almost every situation unless on a battlefield, seeing it as an unnecessary amount of time, meaning someone could theoretically slap and yell at her and she'd simply walk away without a comment or statement against it, she relies on her best, and possibly only friend Gale for that sort of support.

Unemotional:Ellise though understand how emotions work and are important through reading and study still cannot comprehend the action of expressing them herself, leading to her robotic nature. This is only strengthen further by her extremely logical views and lack of interaction with others.

Social Interaction:Ellise had, and still has many opportunities to interact with those around her but doesn't deal well with crowded places or even just one on one interaction with others very well, not that she'd awkward or afraid of it, in fact she just just unsure how exactly she's supposed to act, Gale being the one she relies on for this kind of activity and is currently going through a phase of copying some of their sanctions in hopes of mastering such a thing.

Attacks: Ellise focuses on speed, agility, dodging and multiple quick and precise strikes to take down her enemies, when it comes to raw power or strength she's not your first choice lets just say, but if we're talking about knowing which part of the human spine to press in order to trigger temporary paralysis, she's your girl.

History:
Ellise's mother had her at the exceptionally young age of only 14 in a fling with another vampire who abandoned the woman as soon as they heard of the unexpected child, the girls parents unsure of how to react to such news and with the little income they had she instead spent much of her time travelling from friends place to friends place with both having and raising the baby that was named quite simply, Ellise.

By the time Ellise was four they had enough money to at least rent out a small apartment to live in, it only had two rooms, a bathroom and everything else, but it was home and her mothers never ending optimistic and strong-willed personality made it more than comfortable. Her mom took up many part time jobs to try and keep the small and odd family going, leaving early and coming home late, but always happy. Maybe it was this happy aura that her mother brought with her, this innocence that inspired Ellise to work so hard in studying from such a young age, even though they couldn't afford for her to go to school at the time Ellise went to the library every day and by the time they finally had enough and she started in grade six, she'd read the entire library out, some books twice.

She wasn't teased or bullied for her odd personality, most just choosing to stay away from the strangely unemotional and robotic child, well- all but a young child by the name of Gale that had managed to forget their homework that was due that day, and through a childhood deal made between the two from then one they each had a friend, someone to lean on and trust, someone who both grew closer to over time.

Ellise and her mother were extremely close, and even though their personalities were seemingly polar opposites they looked practically like sisters, and her mum could've very well been for all anyone knew. Ellise also started a few jobs here and there around this age to pull in some extra money, but the two had each other, and now with gale, that was enough, that was all they needed.

Her mum did try out dating again for a while but eventually stopped, complaining that none of them were 'the one' well- that and Ellise glaring at them with the fury of a thousand angry cats. She'd never quite forgiven their farther and her hatred for men did not disappear as quickly as her mother would've lied it to, joking around about it as much as she could to lighten the subject but Ellise still protested in her own stubborn way. Her mother always taught her to be kind for others, to care for them and was her role model in life, and though it not be how most do it Ellise does care for others in her own unique way.

When finding out about her mothers childhood dreams of one day joining in the battle against the rot and Ellise quite liking the idea of putting her well-refined combat knowledge to use, she denied that she would join in the battle against them, knowing full well the dangers but believing in the power of herself and as such Gale followed along.

'That face' The thing Ellise is probably most susceptible to in the world, it was an expression her mother made when agreeing to something despite worrying, or when she'd put on a brave face for her daughter, she hated it and as such avoids anyone who seems to have the potential of it. She'd determined to complete the dream her mother couldn't, to learn how to protect her and everyone else she cares for, and to eventually return home safely with enough money to support both herself and her mum.

But what lies ahead of our vampiric heroine? The only way to find out is to turn the page on this story….
