Active [Vaitiare Town] Watering my Plant

This RP is part of the Isekai Hell setting. It is currently open to be joined, though the additional of more personal goals/plot cannot be assured for late-joiners.

What to expect out of character:
Rounds will take a maximum of 4 days / 96 hours, after which I will start working on a narration post and get it up as soon as I'm able. Narration rounds will arrive earlier if all participants posted. The total duration is intended to be around month, possibly a bit more depending mostly on the pace of the RP, how many (more) join and how much interest there will be. The RP will be mostly slife-of-life, though with some diplomatic and social challenge undertones.

What to expect in character:
Fae diplomat and Goodwill Ambassador Euthalia Apricot has been invited by lady Vaitiare to come visit the town of Vaitiare in the similarly named barony. She's asked to attend the opening of a bathhouse in the town, located in the West Empire (Ororoot) side of the border next to the See of Chearon. Although it is no 'formal' mission, both sides expect some back-room, or perhaps 'back-water' business might occur and that it's best to stay sharp. Euthalia simple hopes to gain some more connection to the West Empire through making a good enough impression. Others joining in might simply come to enjoy the waters or to catch up on some rumours, or perhaps to see if they too can meet some influential people to butter-up too.

When joining, please let me know the following things in your first post:
1 ) Any point boosters the character might have. (Attentive Student, Mentor, Devour, Narrative Booster, etc.).
2 ) Any [Wanted] or criminal titles your character might have. (Note, some city or guild-related settings will make entry for criminals considerably more difficult and would need discussion pre-joining.)
3 ) Any Buddy Skills, Masterwork Skills or Complex Assets your character might have.

Euthalia Apricot

From: Heavily self-edited AI generated stuff.

Euthalia couldn't help feeling a tad nervous. The area looked rather pretty and the waters could be seen from a distance. That said, it was her first trip to the West Empire and overall the first trip to meet a foreign noble. From what Euthalia had gathered, the lady was in charge of the equivalent territory of a Sheppard, or 'barony' as they might call it in Ryke. It wasn't the most influential position, but it was still the most influential foreign noble she'd have met thus far. She'd also heard some peculiar rumours about the woman that didn't help ease that slight feeling of unrest that'd welled up within her. “I'm surprised you were willing to join us.” She'd remark to Shael. “Though if all goes well, this would give us a contact into the West Empire and increase our diplomatic relations with it. A small, but hopefully notable start.” She'd repeat that bit mostly to convince herself this was going to be worth it.

Islwyn Meadhra

“Awww, don't be nervous. The worst that can happen is that we'll get to enjoy a hot spring together! Isn't that great? Keone likes the warmth, you like the water, Nikita will probably just like tagging along and Shael looks like she could use some warmth on her skin and I... well, I'll know for sure I'll like watching whomever else is gonna be in there and have some fun overall~” She'd say the latter with a devious chuckle. “Perhaps they even serve some booze to go along with the skinny dipping!” She was pretty hyped for this event.

Keone Nagendra
awldLOf.png

Keone hissed. “Just don't get usss in trouble. I want to relax and enjoy the warmth, not have to get you out of trouble. I heard they enslave a lot of folk there, you know. Best not end up among those.” She'd reply, somewhat serious, somewhat annoyed in general. She looked at Nikita. “That goes for you too. Just keep up the part of being Euthalia's pet if needed, otherwise they might just take you for themselves, from what I've heard.” Despite being a beast, Keone didn't seem a fan of the West Empire.

Nikita didn't really get why a bath house was special, or why someone needed a house for a bath, she tended to think of a river as a place to bath after her old homes bathroom had been destroyed. She at least had the concept of warm baths in her head even if it had been awhile since she had seriously taken one. Still Euthalia wanted to come to this one and well Nikita had grown attached to her and her group so she didn't really plan on going anywhere without them anytime soon. They were teaching her about this world after all and even had started language lessons for the two main ones they encountered as Nikita wanted to understand beasts and fae. She wanted to understand everyone, but that was a bit much to ask in the end. As for why Euthalia wanted to come Nikita had a few issues getting why regions of well nations would have issues, but well her world was different from here with just bad groups causing issues over regions. That this was a sanitized version of history told by her parents to a much younger Nikita never really came to mind.

The bathhouse was pretty and big, Nikita wondered if all the building was needed for baths, did they have lots of rooms with tubs? The pools outside seemed good enough for holding lots of people for taking baths. She didn't realize that some people might be more modest than her and that mixed bathing might not be something others cared for. Well the idea of mixed bathing was kind of absent in the first place anyways, but she wouldn't care. The biggest surprise in the group was that Shael had come along, but Nikita liked her she was nice Well everyone around her was nice except those mushroom guards apparently.

Nikita did pick up some... dislike of the western empire, though she didn't know why. Was it a human region? Nikita had noticed most fae didn't seem to like humans for some reason even in Euthalia was nice she wasn't like most fae. Nikita did doubt it as well she didn't exactly see to many regular , to her, humans in the mix it was mostly beasts. That made Keone's worry a bit confusing weren't the beast people her people? Maybe it was just snake people that keone liked? Then Keone explained that they enslaved people and Nikita knew Keone didn't like slavery, Nikita herself didn't either. She had tried to explain the need for balance and how training was different than slavery but no one really got it. Nikita always did want to try to explain it, as the buddy thing was close, but not exact and this world wasn't quiet the same even with the See. She wanted to explain with the mushrooms what in her world if someone disturbed nature to much then nature came to life, pollute to much your pollution attacked, dig to much and the earth attacked. Though Keone saying the pet thing was a part or an act was a bit odd.

" It's not a part " Nikita huffed tot he snake woman. She really didn't see anything wrong in calling herself a pet. it was just like pokemon in her mind and she felt she was having some effect on Euthalia. Pokemon were partners and pet seemed to be good word for it here she guessed. Either way pokemon training was never a one way street they learned from you and you learned from them. She learned from Euthalia and Euthalia seemed to learn from her as she had gotten nicer and nicer. " I will stick close to someone though " She said agreeing to that to not make Keone worry.

This would be the first time Shael would be going to the West Empire and hopefully not the last. She decided she rather liked Euthalia and her companions well enough, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to make more connections which would ultimately help the Fae see out.

She’d take note of the place, it was rather pretty between the waters and architecture. Definitely in a different style than she was used too. By the time Euthalia was speaking to her she’d nod.

“Even if this isn’t formally..a contract mission, regardless of the form which a “small noble start” takes I believe it is better to have a noble start then not one at all when it comes to these matters.” She’d say with a soft smile upon her face.

Even if Shael had warmed up some since meeting with Kalina again, she was still ultimately subtle.

She looked to Islwyn and let out a small chuckle at the skin comment.

“Is that right? Well, enjoying the hot springs is certainly not an undesirable consequence of coming here…and fun well I can’t say I’ve had that for quite some time either..eitheway there should be time for all of these things including..business.”
Shael was unphased at the notion of skinny dipping.

Shael looked to Keone and her smile turned to a more serious expression again.

Shael would speak softer at the next part(s)

“Unfortunately what Keone speaks of is true, they enslave indiscriminately, which I do not believe is conductive to an equitable and peaceful society, of course this will not be the time to raise that issue..as much as it’d be tempting too.”

“Nevertheless I think that is a good goal to keep Nikitia, I think you’ll find that there are similar attitudes to humans which you found back in the Fae See which carry over here, while i don’t think you need to be told this, persevere, try not to take what’s said personally even if it feels personally, stay near one of us and I imagine you’ll be fine."

Asahi Fujikawa
Need to know info/titles: [wanted by: Alethea's cakes and candies]

Asahi in his wandering had never actually been to the Western Empire. Mainly he wandered in the Eastern Empire or Ryke. Though, when he needed a break or felt a touch of homesickness he would travel into the Republic. It's Japanese aesthetic and kemonomimi population was a rather good mix, he could even visit familiar seeming shrines and such. The West Empire, on the other hand, seemed a bit "Imperial China" at least to his untraveled and unworldly mind. So, why in fact was he so far into this Western Empire? The answer was simple; he was researching into slavery. Having recently seen real maids in action Asahi had a keen desire to acquire one. However, he had wondered at the time if owning a slave might be the better option.

Slavery was frowned upon in many places, but still it was a thing one could get into. Thus he found himself here, in what was to his understanding the capitol of such activity. He had managed to learn a good deal about it as he wandered around the Western Empire. He had even seen the slave magic's marking on some people. That said, the whole thing left him even more torn. Hiring a maid would require him to have a much more steady income which meant doing more dangerous things or finding some gainful employment. Conversely, owning a slave was much more intense than he had originally thought. He wasn't opposed to owning someone, not if there was a risk of escape and such. However, he really found the thought of using magic to enslave people disgusting. This left him somewhat at a loss in regard to his path forward.

He took a cautious look at the people around him, and not seeing a good deal of humans brought another thought to mind. He was very deep into an area with such a thing as magical slavery. Therefore, he really needed to make sure he did not end up a slave himself. Magical slavery was a bit of info that he had wished he had known earlier on, as he had been quite reckless much earlier in this particular journey. He took a deep steady breath and let it out slowly, thus allowing it to carry his concerns and musings with it. He took a long look at the bathhouse far ahead of him. It was a work of art really, with large external pools replete with cascading waterfalls to keep them fed. Even the building itself was a grand affair by his own humble standards. He could scarcely imagine the amount of money necessary to build such an elaborate bathhouse.

He was thankful to have stumbled upon this particular town at such an auspicious moment. It seemed Vaitiare was adding a brand new bathhouse and he was a young man sorely in need of a long soak and a bit of alcohol. Besides there seemed to be plenty of eye candy among the nearby ladies, though he was careful to keep his leering to a minimum. It wouldn't do to be grabbed up and auctioned off for a mere lecherous glimpse of a bunny girl or some such. The topic of eye candy brought a filthy smile to his face, and a realization that mostly animal beast-girls were only marginally less attractive than mostly human beast-girls.

In the old world he had not taken a liking to the cultured art work depicting the mostly animal girls, finding the whole furry thing to be distasteful. Surprisingly, the real deal was another story. He reached up to stroke his chin thoughtfully as he considered the owning of a beast-slave or hiring of a beast-maid versus a standard human. The thought of a fey of any sort never even entering his consideration. The Fey, though beings of immense beauty externally, lacked the necessary inner beauty necessary to capture Asahi's interest. They were a very strange, rude, and dangerous lot so far as he had seen.

The snake raised an eyebrow at Nikita's response. “Right, then keep doing you.” She honestly didn't get why the Human was fine being a pet, but that would probably make things easier, at least. The promise of sticking close was good enough, at least. “There's a good... pet?” She'd try saying it herself, but realised that, yep, it definitely felt really weird to call someone that.

Euthalia Apricot

yC4rvsN.png

From: Heavily self-edited AI generated stuff.

Euthalia chuckled at Keone's attempt. Although there was a slightly more serious part to add. “Seeing how we're meeting a noble, the only thing giving us some leeway is what little status I have as a diplomat and the grace of the lady welcoming us. Whatever happens, let's try be on our best behaviour.”

She probably wouldn't need to tell Shael such a thing, as she seemed to be aware of what was at stake. “Indeed.” It was always best to at least try to start somewhere. “Come to think of it, perhaps warm water is among the few things I can enjoy the same as most species that aren't plantoid.” After all, even her plant-based body could enjoy warm water. Perhaps not exactly like a Human, Beast or non-plant based Fae would, but close enough.

As they'd gotten closer, the first surprise of the trip was already there... A woman accompanied by a few guards and servants (mostly humans) awaited them. Seeing those around her, along with her looks, made it clear instantly. The lady of these lands herself had come out to greet them. A somewhat unusual move.

Lady Vaitiare

“Truly, as tall and green as they said you'd be.” She spoke, upon spotting Euthalia.

Euthalia herself tried to quickly adjust, finding the right depth at which to bow before her and deciding a somewhat shorter bow would be the right balance. Their status wasn't too vastly different, but she did wish to pay respect. “It is an honour to meet you, lady Vaitiare.” Keone and Islwyn were soon to follow suit and bowed down as well, doing so deeper than Euthalia had done.

As they bowed, one of the guards near the lady stood out the most. His gaze carefully upon all those who approached. Seemingly pretty on edge for any suspicious movements.

The lady herself simply replied. “Likewise, miss Apricot. Then, how shall I address those you brought along?” She'd ask looking past Euthalia. “A rather diverse company, I see. Another Fae, a Beast and, might I say surprisingly so, two Humans.” She'd state. “Are these akin to your guards, slaves, attendants?” It seemed like she genuinely was trying to guess what the relations were like.

Euthalia, however, had something else on her mind. Two humans? What? She looked back, noticing Asahi. “Only the female one of those is in my employ. The male one is assuredly not.” She's state, as no small amount of dislike was audible in her voice upon having spotted him. Just as she was thinking 'not all Humans' might be that bad thanks to Nikita showing her otherwise, she ran into one that gave her an annoying vibe almost instantly.

“Oh? A random Human stumbling into a meeting of mine?” She seemed slightly amused, though her gaze was strictly upon Asahi now. It was clear she expected something of him. Something that he might want to figure out and live up too, unless he wished risking to anger someone that seemed rather important in this part of the world.

Islwyn Meadhra
uSlu8FB.png

Islwyn shrugged. “Seems like he might be fun.” She'd try to calm down the situation, before it could get too tense. “I'm Islwyn, these are Euthalia, Keone and Nikita.” She'd introduce them all, though she didn't dare introduce the lady as she had no clue if that'd be offensive or not. “So, who would you be?” There weren't that many Humans roaming around freely and without having been enslaved in the West Empire, but he seemed an odd exception.

Nikita also chuckled at how Keone was awkward calling her what she was after all it was a good enough label. Nikita wasn't aware of the many things Euthalia had explained to others, but did notice that the normal explanation was missing as she did as Keone and Islwyn did. She didn't really understand the manners of either world she had been in, but Keone and islwyn knew them and well what they did must be what she should do. Nikita in truth had planned to do the introduction Euthalia had taught her. It was very much like a child trying to impress their parent with what they had learned, Nikita did like praise it was something she had not gotten in a long time. She also wanted Euthalia to know her way and islwyn's way of teacher her had been working. The plan to do that fell apart when the Pangoro person asked about humans, as in more than one. There were humans here but they all seemed to be working for the Pangoro woman or were they slaves? Nikita didn't want to think on that, she was more wondering about what she meant by humans. Nikita looked around and saw a boy with black hair and ... ears, or was that hair? Nikita was confused the hair on his head looked like mewoth ears not human ears. Was he really just human?

Nikita did notice the tone in Euthalia's voice when talking about the other human, the first human that wasn't a servant Nikita had seen in this world, or in years. Nikita looked him over her head tilting as she curiously took in every detail. She mentally compared him to the many beings she had been in contact with since Euthalia had found her. He seemed less interesting than them was that normal? Nikita was more used to what others would call strange creatures and none human people so normal humans almost looked odd to her.

Nikita gave the boy a little wave as she was introduced " This is my first time meeting a human " She said meaning a human of this world, but only those close to her would know what she meant.

As Asahi pondered on the merits of Beast-slaves he absentmindedly found himself among a small but very diverse group of ladies. His eyes rapidly took in each member of the motley crew. A deer, a houseplant, a human, a snake and even the obligatory elf. A rather unexpected group indeed. He then briefly considered whether he should introduce himself, but before he could say anything his attention was arrested by the sudden arrival of a Panda and perhaps the rudest greeting he could have imagined a person to give.

Truly, as tall and green as they said you'd be

Asahi was completely caught out by the Panda-girl's words, and wondered briefly how she had expected a houseplant girl to look if not tall and green. Then he suddenly alighted on the concept of a short and green plant-girl and then he understood. Panda-mama had been hoping against hope for a cute little chibi but instead had gotten Shaquille O'Neal. He shook his head in sympathy as he imagined the plant-girl as a much smaller and cuter version. Yes, he could definitely sympathize with the panda. On the other hand, the reply that issued from his houseplant friend caused him to swallow hard.

It is an honour to meet you, lady Vaitiare

Those words coupled with the entire little group bowing caused Asahi to stand frozen in place. This was his luck in action; his absolutely abysmal luck. Since his arrival in this world he had become keenly aware of his propensity for attracting potential trouble, and finding himself in these dangerous situations. He took a deep breath as everyone rose and willed himself to become like smoke. He took a small tentative step back from the group, but that accomplished absolutely jack shit. Lady Vaitiare's gaze passed over them all in what seemed an instant only to finally alight on himself as she spoke.

Likewise, miss Apricot. Then, how shall I address those you brought along?

A rather diverse company, I see. Another Fae, a Beast and, might I say surprisingly so, two Humans.

Are these akin to your guards, slaves, attendants?

The little groups eyes turned to him and as the plant girl vehemently denied being associated with him he did not mistake the dislike in her voice. He could understand it, he had crashed a noble's meeting and was currently standing there like a jackass. In that light, a little dislike was warranted. Asahi's attention was stolen by Panda-sama once again. Amusement laced her words but Asahi could not help but swallow hard as he looked at the noble lady. Her expectant gaze coupled with her over all dangerous appearance caused Asahi no small amount of stress. Yet, things moved fluidly forward without his consent. The deer girl, that blessed thing, she was swift to divert the conversation. Her introductions were smooth and friendly. Her demeanor that of a mediator. Then that dang human girl waved at him offering her two cents.

In for a penny in for a pound, he thought to himself as he automatically returned Nikita's wave with one of his own. Never met a human before? That thought alone was strange but he gave her a warm smile nonetheless.

" Well Nikita-chan I will do my best not to disappoint." He replied in a friendly fashion that belied his rising anxiety.

" I am Asahi Fujikawa. International man of mystery, adventurer, wandering spell caster, and as Islwyn mentioned.....over all wonderful person." He continued in friendly fashion.

He followed his introduction with a deep and very 'middle manager getting scolded by the boss at work' bow. This was the second most powerful move his father had taught him and he coupled it with a genuine apology.

" Lady Vaitiare....Lady Apricot, I hope you will forgive my intrusion. I was simply lured in by the beauty of your little assembly. I had no idea you were on official business." He stated boldly while still bowing deferentially" However, now that I am here allow me to offer my services. I am rather adept at being an uninvolved third party. Not to mention... I can provide all the massages and good company you could possibly desire."

Nikita continued to be most curious in her declarative-ness of being like Euthalia’s pet, but she would agree that in places like the West Empire that probably wasn’t a bad angle to take as it meant instead of getting negative attention judgemental beasts might be more inclined to ignore Nikita rather than act out at her.

“Best behavior will do us all well here.” She’d confirm after Euthalia spoke.

“Is that right? I hadn’t really considered what you enjoyed or didn’t based on you physicality, but there are many Fae where that would inherently be the case naturally.”

“Either Way I’m glad to hear you can still enjoy warm water well enough.”

Seeing what Euthalia did with the new comer, knowing that Shael wasn’t as important as her, she’d try to adjust accordingly and give a lower and longer bow on account of the fact that she was a fae and lower rank. She’d try to do similar to what Islwyn did. While it probably wasn’t as graceful as someone with etiquette it still showed she was doing her best to be respectful.

She took note of Rohit but wasn’t particularly phased by their appearance, as she had met Fae who might have similar forms in ways even, even if this one was [Beast].

Shael also found herself taking note of Asahi as the [Beast] lady spoke up.

After Islwyn’s introductions Shael Spoke up. “And I am Shael Xyvern, Ryken Adventurer from the Shade of the Fae See.

She’d then nod, listening to the human. “It’s nice to meet you, thank you for clarifying your intentions,” Her eyes looking to Rohit briefly, it looking like the type of guard that would use its impressive scorpion tail to strike and then ask questions later if necessary, so she was realy glad he had clarified.

However the move of so boldly saying he offered services like massages, she really wasn’t sure how that’d be taken by the likes of the company here, not from Euthalia or from even the [Beast] lady who probably did have slaves but she had no idea what she thought about humans or if that offer was going to be taken well.

Maybe she’d be humored by it? All Shael could really do was hope that it’d all pan out alright.

One thing did puzzle her. “Asahi Fujikawa..does that not sound strangely similar to a [Beast] name from the Republic?..” She’d look to Keone.

Nikita had made her first big mistake. “You seem to have instructed or trained her rather poorly.” The lady stated, as she notice the complete lack of respect towards her from the female woman. Her voice a tad annoyed. A mere servant, a Human one at that, not even bowing when allowed to meet her? She didn't expect the Fae to have their servants this uncultured. At least the pale-looking Elf knew far better, as that one did provide her with a proper bow.

Euthalia felt a pang of worry. “My most humble apologies. It is the first Human I took on and...” she hesitated for a split second, then decided to roll with it “... she is currently more like a pet in dire need of training. We'll continue to do so.”

Keone Nagendra

“Bow down.” The snake hissed at Nikita, revealing the main reason behind the lady's displeasure, as she'd push Nikita to take a deep bow in front of the noblewoman. “Forgive her, she'll learn sssssoon enough.” Keone would hiss, hoping to help enough to avoid them getting into trouble before they could even enjoy their baths.

A slightly annoyed look appeared as the second Human was also rather impolite, replying to a mere servant before addressing her despite her having shown some interest. Truly, what was with their species being so easy to disagree with? His next words weren't all that encouraging, but they were amusing, at the least. “A lot of confidence for someone barging into a conversation uninvited and...” She wanted to add 'without knowing proper customs', but he was quick to bow down surprisingly deep. “Oh, I see you know at least some common sense.”

As for the official business part, the panda had a short, yet slightly ominous, grin on her face. “You are lucky. These are not any official business, simply a courtesy between our two nations.” Her words and tone didn't seem to match at all, when she said that part.

Asahi's offer of services, however, made her frown. A frown that turned into a grin once more. “To insinuate that you would have even close to enough worth to put your hands upon me would be a sin worth locking you up for. Between having specialised slaves for such purposes or hiring those of a high enough caste, there are much more preferable options. Assuming you are aware of such, I am sure you are merely offer to massage my slaves, are you not?” She'd gesture at two of the men behind her. “These two seem a little tense. Feel free to provide them with all the massages you have to offer and you might be compensated for your efforts.” The two men in question, both Humans that were so plain looking that they didn't even warrant their own appearance image, simply nodded and stepped towards Asahi. They were trained never to question the lady, after all. The only Humans she ever seemed to 'like' were those that didn't ask questions and talked as little as possible.

Euthalia suppressed a chuckle, as perhaps this panda was a tad more like-able than she'd seemed to be at first. Keone didn't seem to 'get' the details of what was going on enough, she just looked confused. Meanwhile, Islwyn felt a bit sorry for the Human.

Islwyn Meadhra

“Hey, if you massage them well enough, perhaps you can give me one as well afterwards?” She seemed to offer it as a consolation prize, or perhaps she was just teasing him a little more. The results were the same.

With that said and done, there was something she was curious about with regards to Shael. “What made you take up the adventuring business in Ryken, rather than in your home-country?” It felt odd for the normally isolationist Fae to start adventuring outside their own borders.

That said, with the introductions over, she'd get things started. “Well then, how about I introduce the outside of this place first?” She'd state, getting a bit more serious. It was clear she was 'allowing Asahi's presence to persist', although without formally inviting him to come along. “These lower ponds are the wash-off area. This is where any unaccompanied slaves can gather to clean themselves. After all, unwashed slaves are rather unpleasant, are they not?”

She'd look for confirmation for a bit, before continuing. “The pool above that, the biggest and central one, is where accompanied slaves and commoners are allowed to bathe. Should their master or mistress wish to watch them do so, we have a luxury pool to the left, along with some seating areas. The pool even further up is for those of any status that wish to enjoy outdoor bathing.”

She gestured to the right. “To the right, the stairs lead to another seating area overseeing these pools, where one can enjoy some food whilst watching over the baths. Needlessly to say, it is only open to those of higher caste and those that they have accompany them. Underneath it are some baths that one can hire if they wish to have their slaves cleaned out of public sight, as some would prefer not to have others seeing them. These are also open to be hired by the commoners. The internals of the main building are only open to those of a status above the commoners. Of course, we have some additional facilities inside limited to usage by the nobility and their guests.”

Euthalia was silently observing. When in doubt of what to say, it was best not to say anything. The mushrooms bothered her, the plants were nice. The waters seemed clean enough. The divisions were too complicated for her liking. Simply having a Fae bath and a non-Fae bath would've sufficed, had this been The See. Yet it wasn't. “A rather intricate system.” She'd state, stuck between a compliment and a question.

“To those uninitiated in our ways, I suppose it is.” She'd reply. It was pretty clear the two weren't exactly getting along from the get-go, as the situation felt a bit awkward and tense.

Keone Nagendra

Upon Shael's question, Keone shrugged. She'd been raised mostly in captivity. “I think so, though I'm not too sure.” That was the best she had to offer in the ways of a reply.

Having given her introduction, the Panda would ask. “Then, would you care to hear more about how we build this place, or perhaps try out one of our outdoor facilities?” A slight glint in her eyes revealed she might be up to something, as she started speaking again. “Though, as you may know, it is rather uncouth to enter a bath unwashed. There are some washing facilities sprinkled through-out this place, including for those of status. That said, it wouldn't do for anyone of status to wash themselves, no? It's such a shame, however, that I must admit I know nothing of your customs. Should I sent for some slaves? Humans, perhaps? I do ever so love how easily trained their species can be. Then, should I sent for men? Women? Both? Or would you prefer for me to sent for some Fae or Beasts to aid you?”

Euthalia, taken aback by that offer, realised that none of those options were anywhere near appealing to her. The touch of a Human might be awful, having enslaved Fae for her work for her would be equally awful, just in a different manner, asking for Beasts, despite them being slaves, might be considered rude and would not sit well with Keone. She was already faced with her first challenge, as she'd try to bluff herself out of it. She really hoped Shael, Keone and Iswlyn would forgive her for this one (and she assumed Nikita would just go along with it). “That is fine, but I'd much prefer my own attendants. They are much more familiar to me and my needs.” She'd state using [Convince].

As they were doing so, the guard would suddenly speak up. “Milady, assuming he does not provide these promised massages to your slaves, might I throw this Human into the lowest level washing area to clean up after the slaves?” It seemed that something about Asahi had annoyed the guard enough to already want him to be lesser than even a commoner. Whereas the panda might still see some amusement in keeping him around, her guard likely just considered him a risk factor and wanted him out of the picture. He'd best choose his words and actions carefully.

Nikita had taken a second more than the other two to bow as no one had told her and even as keone spoke Nikita was already bowing as she and islwyn did. This Pangoro woman was very mean. Well she kept slaves and Nikita had pretty much learned from keone and Euthalia that slavery was just bad. It was a childish way of thinking but being alone since she was a kid had left Nikita rather stunted in that way as well. Ruthalis had helped a lot with than and Nikita was beyond certain that Euthalia was nice. She might not like the bot but she wasn't like the Pangoro woman at all.

Nikita decided that she wasn't going to talk to the mean lady so she listened to the in her opinion overly complicated bath structure. It now made some sense why thos place was built the way it was when no one wanted to share a large bath with thr other you needed lots. That was another difference between slavery and pokemon if a trainer went to a spring you just let you pokemon out and everyone enjoyed the spring together.

The Pangoro started to go off about sending slaves to wash Euthalia off and Nikita frowned already getting that Eithalia would not like that. Nikita only saw it as Euthalia disliking slavery over any touch from any race after all she kept Nikita close.

" I help her with that, I more trained for that " Nikita said joining islwyn even if Euthalia hasn't tried to convince them. Luke with the mushrooms Nikita did want Euthalia to be comfortable and to protect the plant woman.

Hearing the bug type man speak Nikita was concerned he was going to be alone with these mean and well bad people. Nikita had been warned about that as that might lead to them trying to enslave her. Nikita not seeing why they might want to enslave her more than the other human was concerned. Nikita moved close to Euthalia so she could speak quietly and try not to be heard by the Pangoro woman. " Maybe we should try to take him with us he might not leave if he is alone with them " Nikita near whispered to Euthalia who was the only one who could help yhe other human. Nikita didn't have any skills to help convince people, but she trusted Euthalia would not want to see the man made a slave. If she didn't try to help then Nikita woukd assume her worries were wrong.

Things had seemed to take a downward turn in Asahi's opinion. He felt sorry that the friendly little human girl had gotten so roughly scolded. Pet? a dang pet, if he had heard correctly. It was a heck of a surprise to hear and it did nothing to raise his opinion of the houseplant. When the sturdily built juggernauts stepped forward his heart sank but his plan not to be immediately arrested had gone swimmingly. Therefore he wisely kept his mouth shut and a subservient look on his face even when the deer girl in 'bratty little sister' fashion made some dang joke about getting a massage if he did good with panda-san's man toys. He vowed to himself then and there that if he did give her a massage he was going to do a shit job and hopefully give her a cramp in revenge.

Yet, as the conversation fluidly shifted from him to Miss Xyvern he took a good long look at her. She had been very polite during his introduction and he had made sure to remember her name. She was not near so creepy as the elves usually were. She was also way more pale than any elf he had chanced across so far. Perhaps she was a subclass of elf he had not learned of as yet. He made a mental note to ask about it if he got the chance. He also listened intently to the overly complex design of the bathhouse, not wanting to make any grave mistakes in this highly caste oriented society. Besides he wasn't a heathen and respected bath culture as any good Japanese gentleman would. However, he couldn't help but feel distaste for this empire's treatment of people. Despite his own cultured desires for a harem he realized as he listened that slavery was definitely not the way to go. He made a mental declaration to firmly oppose slavery. Then a certain glint in the Panda-girl's eyes caught his attention and as he listened he had a rather surprising epiphany.

“Then, would you care to hear more about how we build this place, or perhaps try out one of our outdoor facilities?”

Asahi smiled a small mischievous smile knowing what the panda-girl was doing. With this little game Panda-mama would gain the opportunity to frazzle her guest, as well as a chance to see her being washed. In that moment he realized that Panda-mama was a huge perv, as well as a socially awkward being. He almost laughed as she very well fit the image of an anime ojou-sama. He would even bet she could do the signature ojou-sama laugh. He also wondered if she had a tsundere crush on plant-sama or just a perverts desire to see the girl humbled and embarrassed. Asahi felt himself somewhat superior, for even though he was also cultured, he was not into base humiliation play. Leave it to the nobility to have such sensibilities he thought. He watched as Plant-sama and her Deer-girl retainer hastily tried to extricate themselves from Panda-sama's little game. He suppressed his chuckle as they squirmed under Panda-sama's expert play. That was the moment Nikita chose to interject herself.

" I help her with that, I more trained for that "

Her words were so strait forward and so pure he couldn't help but be surprised a little. Islwyn's words and actions were every bit the part of the noble's minister. Nikita on the other hand was simply proud of helping......her owner??? Asahi shook his head at the whole thing. From the perverted panda to the grateful pet; he had inserted himself into a very strange group of folks. When the bug man spoke up Asahi nearly jumped out of his skin. He had completely not cared about his strange existence but as he listened to the guy trying to fuck him over he was truly pissed off. He had every intention of not massaging these damn male slaves and here just as he felt the whole thing would have been lost in the haze of Panda-ladies perversion, this fucker brought it back up. Well two could play at that game Asahi thought to himself. He gave a very deep bow to Rohit.

" Good sir, I am truly sorry I had no idea." He declared, his voice filled with regret, even if it was only feigned. " Allow me to rectify things immediately."

Remaining in his deep bow he spoke up again trying not to give the guard a chance to interrupt him.

" Lady Vaitiare, it seems in my haste to impress you I may have...stepped on someone's toes. I had not realized that your guard was intending to give massages to your servants, and it would seem I have stolen this honor from him. Please allow him to take my place, and perhaps he could also have permission to bath them for you. I am truly undeserving of such honors myself. I hadn't realized it until basking in your radiance, but i am a low an pitiful being. Therefore, i beg you to bestow these honors on your much more deserving guard." He declared contritely

With that, he hoped to rid himself of this horrible task as well as punishing this red interloper.

Shael might have winced at Nikita’s lack of bow, particularly after hearing Lady Vaitiare’s displeasure as this was not conducive to fostering a good relationship with the West Empire by insulting her. Hopefully with some guidance, Nikita would do better if she was going to be tagging along with a diplomat of all people.

Shael stayed quiet, not being spoken too at the moment, however she did feel a bit relieved when Keone was quick to address Nikita’s behavior.

The human who they hadn’t been expecting wasn’t exactly making things much easier with his brazenness at least he bowed like the lady observed.

Thankfully Asahai’s bit there hadn’t sent him getting forcibly escorted out on the spot(even if in someways in Shael’s mind had that happened it might have made Euthalia’s diplomatic goal easier) but instead perhaps with a bit of blessing, optimism and luck, he was actually good at what he said he was and he might put the lady in an agreeable.

She might have smiled at what Islywn had offered if he did a good job, but kept her expression serious and respectful for the time being.

She was a tad surprised that Lady Vaitiare had taken much notice at all, but she’d look to her promptly with a bit of a nod

“Truthfully in part I was searching for my sister, in addition the Xyvern Family has a history of doing the sort of work which the adventurers complete, and it is worth noting that the adventueree guild in the Fae See does not have a very prominent presence, unlike other nations, such as your own.”

At the next part Shael was at attention yet again before nodding.

“That would be very appreciated, thank you.”

She then paid attention diligently, to the lower washing area, giving a nod meant to signal agreement not about to get into a fight about slavery in this moment as she mentioned prior.

During the explanation, Shael looked to where the Lady gestured should it be logical to do so with a sight like, and she’d take in what she could about each space, the idea of their caste system coming up again and again, Shael supposed the Fae often had their own criteria which wasn’t all that different depending on context.

Thankfully even Shael could tell that Euthalia wasn’t thrilled with the idea of getting people at the establishment to help, but it looked like Islywn knew just how to assist, and Keone played along too, she supposed that Nikita’s response wasn’t the worst either.

“I’ll assist as well, the others are correct, while your services are second to none from the looks of things, us helping our plantoid diplomat will undoubtedly simplify things.”

“With all of that said, I appreciate the degree of organization of your system, it sounds efficient.”

“And if it would not be an imposition, Lady Vaitiare personally I would like to hear more about how the construction took place here at a time which is convenient.”

Shael was rather surprised at Ashai’s strategy, even if it was rather unconventional, given how the lady seemed to have some sort of humored or perhaps mischievous side, maybe such a social maneuver would work in his favor, definitely seemed like somewhat of a gamble, unaware of his interpretation of the situation which had some liberties taken from the sound of things.

Whether or not Nikita sounded believe-able when she back-up Euthalia was debate-able, yet Euthalia was already glad to hear her do so regardless. It'd be extraordinarily awkward had the Human girl just denied or ignored it. “As you can see, she's learning well.” Euthalia stated, both to try make up for Nikita's slightly belated bow and to sneak in a compliment to hope the girl would keep this up.

The next bit confused her. A lot. Why did Nikita suddenly care for a random stranger? Was it due to both of them being Humans? “If he's a free man, they wouldn't enslave him without proper cause. If he behaves somewhat decently, he should be fine.” She'd reply. Wait. Did she say it because she'd taken a liking to the guy? Did Humans take a liking to other Humans that quickly? Similar to Islwyn, or perhaps even worse? “I'll see about it.” She'd add. Not sure on whether it would be worth the risk or not.

Islwyn Meadhra

Islwyn chuckled, interested in that development. “Perhaps we should!” She'd add. She didn't seem aware that her previous attempt (to help out?) had already started her off on the wrong foot with Asahi.

Lady Vaitiare

Asahi himself had nowhere near enough persuasion/deception for a statement like his latest one to work against the [insight] used by Lady Vaitiare. She was also quick to use his own words against him. “You would claim that I foolishly hired a guard that would rather focus on such unworthy, trivial and mildly disgusting tasks, instead of doing his intended job of guarding me?” She'd counter sharply. “That is, if anything, rather insulting. Perhaps I should have you whipped and flogged in public for continuing to intrude upon my business and attempting to deceive me about your intentions? I was debating to be graceful by allowing you to remain in my presence, but it seems most Commoners simply can't handle even such a minor task.”

She sight, then waved to her guard. “He's all yours. Feel free to...” She was about to order her guard, when Euthalia decided to interfere.

“Lady Vaitiare, whilst I would not wish to interrupt on your way of dealing with these insults, I'd rather not have our first meeting be soured by having it lead to such a public punishment. Perhaps simply sending him off and forgetting this unfortunate meeting would suffice?”

The interruption earned Euthalia a glare, but the panda eventually caved in (a dice roll landed at making her only slightly annoyed). “Fair, I've had my fun. Be gone from my sight and be glad that my honoured guest spoke in your benefit.” She'd state, gesturing for Asahi to be off.

That said, Asahi wouldn't have gone far before someone approached him. “Wow, that was... something. I can't believe you said all that to a lady and didn't even get punished! How did you get away with that? Did you earn the favour of some deity? Could you teach me?” The arctic fox beast, speaking with a rather androgynous voice, seemed rather impressed by what they'd witnessed from afar. Their tail wagging in excitement. They looked pretty out of place, dressed like some sort of ice mage, in a subtropic forest-like area. Especially near the heat of these bathwaters.

Their exited tail-wagging continued as more questions followed. “Do you know what was up with that green one? I don't think I ever saw a being like that.” They asked. “Oh, right, I'm Tushar! Great Ice Mage of the North! I'm here to ehm...” It seemed they started to make up something halfway down their sentence. “Train?” They asked. “Train!” They corrected themselves, trying to make it more of a statement. “What brought you here? Are you also here to wa... I mean train?”

The tail kept wagging. “Also, why does your hair look like cat ears?” The question popped out rather unfiltered. “Besides, that Snake and Deer one looked rather...” They stopped again, mid-sentence. “... out of place as well, right?” That did not seem to be the direction of their original sentence at all.

Meanwhile, the lady turned her attention to Shael. “A lost sister? Did you find her?” She'd ask, mostly sounding just curious more than anything. “The Xyvern family, you say?” It didn't seem to ring a bell. “Are they all the... how say this without insult... pale types, like you? If so, I believe they might stand out a fair bit among the other adventurers.” A snow-white Elf adventurer family was a fairly stand-out thing indeed.

The Elf's surprisingly tactful response got some results, as she'd smile. “Very well, it seems I might have two honoured guests instead of one.” She'd state, implying she was considering Shael of a level/degree worth talking with a bit more politely by now. “Let us venture inside so I can show you a washing room. We can find a good place to continue our conversation after, upon which I might tell you about this places' construction.” She'd state, as they were guided to a spot inside through an entrance up the left-most stairs.

Euthalia, Shael, Nikita, Islwyn and Keone would be led towards the room, after which the Panda would continue towards her own private washing rooms. Presumably to be washed by her own well-trained slaves whilst the plant was given some privacy.

Euthalia sighed short after it seemed they were alone. “That... seems to have gone well enough, so far.” It could've gone better, but definitely not the worst outcome so far. “Thank you all for going along with my bluff.” She'd state. “It'd have been highly uncomfortable to be washed by some strangers, or to be washed by others in general. Between Humans, strange Beasts or enslaves Fae, I'm not sure which would have been the worst.”

She'd add, as she went to work in 'undressing', which in her case just existed in setting aside a few leaves and flowers. It was finally revealed that, yes, some of those were decorations instead of body. It was also clear she was a plant in more ways than one might expect, as her whole body was a smooth green stem-like leaf-patterned humanoid form without any 'adult' bits or pieces in a sense, she was the ultimate PG nudist.

Islwyn Meadhra
uSlu8FB.png

Islwyn, having gotten undressed in record tempo, was the polar opposite in that regard. She had a lot more on display, though she was currently focussed on something else. “Awww... just a bluff? Here I was looking forwards to giving you a good scrubbing! The rest of you were as well, no?” She'd ask teasingly to the other three.

Keone Nagendra
awldLOf.png

“Not really, no.” Keone replied, as she dipped a hand in the water. “Oh, it's nice and warm. This is great.” She stated, as she'd undress and just slithered into the washing basin altogether. With a body as long as hers, that was the easiest way to get herself clean without a hassle.

Nikita had been worried that Asahi would be enslaved as the others did make it sound like of she wandered off it woukd happen to her. She also had kind of wanted to talk to a human of this world. That all didn't happen as Vaitire sent him away to do other things. The lady really was not nice so Nikita wondered why people wanted to get along with her?

The remaining group would be brought to a more private area thankfully away from Vaitire where they didn't have to walk on eggshells. The woman being gone was the most relaxing thing to happen.

" I was going to do it I still would " Nikita said removing her rather limited clothing. Her form had actully changed some getting a slight curve here and there and putting on a small amount of height. It would be confusing to sone why only now was sge starting to grow again, but well Ruthalia fed her far more than her foraging and farming could.

Nikita did have one thing on her mind " If we are going to take a bath why are we cleaning off isnt that what a bath is for? " She asked only having taken baths thay were meant to clean over anything relaxing or public.

“You would claim that I foolishly hired a guard that would rather focus on such unworthy, trivial and mildly disgusting tasks, instead of doing his intended job of guarding me?”

Asahi groaned inwardly as he listened to Lady Vaitiare. Each of her words hit him like an arrow in his heart. In his rush to get a petty revenge on the red shitbag he had completely forgotten that she was super sensitive. He hadn't taken any of her circumstance into mind at all as he had rushed forward. Nobles always had prying eyes keeping track of them, and on top of that, it was now painfully clear she was crushing on Lady Apricot. He had misread her earlier as being a big perv into dominance play when She was in fact a small perv crushing hard on a foreign girl. He now felt the full regret for not putting it together earlier, he might have even been able to help. Now, he just felt bad for hurting her feelings and messing up her plans. He remained in his deep bow the entire time, he deserved to be beaten for his mistake. Despite how it might appear to the casual observer, Asahi was neither an asshole nor one who despised love. In fact he was a huge proponent of love. He just hoped his antics wouldn't cause the little panda-girl to lose out on joining Lady Apricot's harem.

“Lady Vaitiare, whilst I would not wish to interrupt on your way of dealing with these insults, I'd rather not have our first meeting be soured by having it lead to such a public punishment. Perhaps simply sending him off and forgetting this unfortunate meeting would suffice?”

Lady Apricot suddenly interrupting Panda-mama to save him was such a surprise that it killed all of his other thoughts. Hadn't this same girl given him the look of death only a bit ago??? He was so stunned he just rose and walked off in an almost daze when Lady Vaitiare bid him begone. His mind was truly reeling at the entire event, from the beginning, to the moment his life was spared by the words of a Plant-girl to a panda. He didn't manage to make it very far before he was pulled from his dazed contemplation by a very enthusiastic voice.

“Wow, that was... something. I can't believe you said all that to a lady and didn't even get punished! How did you get away with that? Did you earn the favour of some deity? Could you teach me?”

He stopped where he was as he was faced with a jovial arctic fox-person. He blinked a few times trying to get his bearings as the fox kept firing off questions and comments. He couldn't tell if the fox was a boy or a girl and to Asahi it looked like a child. Therefore he waited politely for the fox cub to get it all out of their system. As he listened he turned to watch the group of diplomats walk into the main building.

" Well, I don't think it's a power I can teach you." He said absently " I feel like a bad-luck Goddess has decided to make herself the first member of my 'as yet' unmade Harem. I don't think that is a smoke you want to catch."

He turned back to the cub and gave them a friendly smile.

" As for the green gal, I think she is some type of dryad or something like that. A Noble-lady of some sort, probably from the Fey kingdom if I had to guess, but I don't really know honestly." He continued. " You must like em tall eh? Part of your 'training'? I get that, I was here to 'train' as well. I don't think the snake and deer are too out of place, though. It is a big world after all. Well, I am less curious about all that........ 'Great Ice Mage of the North' is one heck of a title. I want to hear about that."

Asahi ignored the question about his hair, but he very obviously fluffed one of his cowlicks to show that his hair just did that naturally. The kid had caught his curiosity and so despite the danger of sticking around he decide to at least hear about the title. The kid's tale was wagging a mile a minute and Asahi didn't want to curb their enthusiasm. Besides, they were the only person he had met who called themselves a great mage of anything.

Well that was rough, it seemed that Ashai didn’t have the social suave needed to maneuver that situation at the moment, though perhaps with time he’d be smooth talking and be able to pull stunts like that. It looked like the Lady had been offended too worse yet and was looking like she might be inclined to physically have him punished for his transgression.

Thankfully Euthalia stepped in and diffused the situation some, even though Lady Vaitare appeared to be somewhat annoyed by the whole situation, thankfully it hadn’t been a mission ending event, even after Ashai had been asked to leave. What Shael also quickly learned was that Nikita seemed pretty caring about others which was a nice trait, and Shael also respected that Euthalia attempted to help prevent Ashai from getting beaten even if that might have been a very appropriate treatment given the strict race and caste system.

Shael looked as respectfully as she could muster toward the lady.

“Yes I did find her. She was doing a good deal of monster hunting herself as it turned out.” Shael would state which wasn’t untrue, what she didn’t think would make sense to mention at the moment was that her sister had become part of one, as there was really no reason too with an important stranger like this.

“Oh no offense taken.” Shael did her best to respond politely. She then clarified,

“Yes, they do look much like myself, we are [Lune Elves] and the paleness as you describe comes from the fact that my people have lived with minimal sunlight exposure for many years, it’s safe to say that I agree with your assessment, I imagine even in a diverse place like Ryke we stand out.” She’d give a bit of a smile after.

“Ah, your words humble me, thank you.” Shael gave a bit of a bow once more, trying her best for it to be the same as before, but more brief.

She then promptly followed the lady diligently.

Shael took in the washroom and appreciated how well put together it seemed.

Shael wasn’t particularly surprised by how Euthalia got more ready to bathe, since there were plenty of beings with forms like hers in the Fae See which didn't particularly show anything terribly intimate from the perspective of a non fae.

However she did politely avert her eyes a bit just the same, not planning on staring.

She heard Islwyn who seemed to want to actually wash Euthalia, and then Nikita, and Keone who wasn’t planning on it

But regardless, Shael promptly got undressed from her outfit which was arguably more suited for adventuring, probably taking her a bit longer than the others with all the pieces, exposing her body which was arguably significantly less PG than Euthalia with her figure, one which was equally as pale as her face over the majority of it.

After neatly organizing her discarded clothing she made her way over to the wash area.

“Hm..Euthalia if you would like the assistance, I am happy to offer it, otherwise I’m fine staying to my own devices.” She wasn’t really gung ho about trying to get Euthalia to agree to something she didn’t really want or need, which Islwyn and Nikita looked like they were more inclined toward.

When she got into the water, she’d nod in agreement with a soft smile, “You’re quite right Keone, this a nice temperature..and as for your question Nikita, I believe it’s for sanitation purposes before we join the shared baths. Much less of a cause for concern for many individuals in many bodies of water you’d be enjoying in the Fae See…”

Whilst Lady Vaitiare had simply nodded to Shael's replies, before heading on to different business as the parties went their separate ways for a while, Euthalia was still curious. Enough so to revisit the topic upon arriving in the washing room. “How come you lost that sister to begin with? If I recall correctly, yours is a species with relatively close familial ties normally, is it not?” She'd ask.

Euthalia frowned. “I'm surprised you were serious about it as well, rather than just going along with my bluff.” Seemed like she'd be a rather well-washed plant if it was up to her companions. “Though I'll be good myself.” Being washed by others would just feel awkward. It's not like she had spots that were tough to reach or hair that was a trouble to get through either.

Truthfully, perhaps it was due to being able to let go of some of the stress from the previous interaction with the panda, but Euthalia chuckled a bit at Nikita's innocent question. “Like Shael said. There are different types of baths. These baths are are for cleaning, during which the water will get dirty. Afterwards, the water will be replaced with new clean water for the next person to clean themselves with it. The waters we're going to bathe in after cleaning are waters that are solely for enjoying. Considering multiple people share that water, it is nicer if nobody makes it dirty by cleaning themselves in other waters first.” Euthalia expanded a bit upon what Shael had explained, as she started to wash herself.

Islwyn Meadhra
uSlu8FB.png

Islwyn was staring at Nikita for a fair bit, seeming in thought, before nodding to herself. “You've grown. I think you're taller was well. I'm pretty sure that if you keep eating as much as you do, you'll be a tall and gorgeous young lady in no time~” She'd tease a bit with the last part, though that was her genuine opinion.

Meanwhile, the snake heard Nikita insisting on washing Euthalia, though she knew the plant wouldn't be the most eager to accept such an offer. Perhaps the snake could abuse that. “Why don't you come help me out? My tail is pretty long and scales are tough to scrub off alone. Especially because dirt gets really stuck between them from slithering around all the time, which normally is fine, but well, I doubt they'd like me bringing it in.” She'd state, figuring she might try to abuse the Human's seeming willingness to help out a bit. It seemed Shael had been rejected as well. “I'd be happy to accept your offer as well.” She figured she'd extend the request to the Lune Elf as well.

Islwyn had other plans. “I think we should help was Nikita instead! What if she never learned to wash behind her hears?” She'd ask, prancing over to Nikita to brush aside her hair and check behind an ear. “We can't risk lady... Panda...” She'd forgotten the noble's name. Not ideal. “... to spot us being dirty when being so gracefully allowed to use her baths.”

Euthalia sighed, as there was something else on her mind. “What were your impressions of lady Vaitiare? I still can't figure out if we're simple amusement to her, if she'll eventually try getting something done, if she's hoping to learn from us, or if she actually wishes to set-us up or get us to do something stupid.” All in all, the plant hadn't yet figured out their panda hostess.

Meanwhile, outside, the fox was eager to keep chatting with Asahi. “A harem?” The fox tilted their head. “You're ambitious! My father told me I should start getting one as well, if I want to do my family proud.” They concluded. “Surely there's no such thing as a bad luck goddess! You managed to survive speaking to a legitimate lady like you did, that's got to be luck!” They'd repeat their former argument.

“A dryad? Oh, I see! A Fae! They can be a tad strange, no?” They'd nod to themselves. “Also pretty magical, but very old-fashioned.” They'd add. “Tall? Perhaps. I'm a mage, so I need folk to guard me when I'm casting. Although she's also very lanky.” They reasoned out.

A smile showed upon being asked about their title. “I'm glad you asked!” They said. “My father is the lord of a territory bordering Rotia and he occasional uses his might and magic to help ward off the monsters that slip through there. I've been learning from him since I could walk! We're the Great Ice Mages of the North! I'm all the way in the south whilst on a special mission!” They'd state, then waving for Asahi to get closer and lean in.

“Although, I was thinking, right... If we're near these baths... well...” Their tail started wagging. “... well, I figured I could stop by to do so... sightseeing, right? Right? Right?” They asked, tail wagging up a storm. “Are you also here to go and try to see some... sights, like I am? You seem like you're cultured enough to do some sightseeing, no? Yes? Right?”

Asahi continued to give the fox his full attention. Listening patiently as the ice-mage spoke enthusiastically, even leaning in to listen to the secret they wanted so badly to share with him. Then, when at last the Fox finished speaking, Asahi rubbed his chin thoughtfully while looking up into the sky.

" Well, where shall I start?" He mused almost to himself. " I am definitely here for 'sightseeing', I mean this is a good opportunity. As for Bad-Luck goddesses; I am still on the fence on that one. "

He looked at the fox briefly, folding his arms across his chest, and finally beginning to pace a small circle around the fox. To the casual observer it would appear as if Asahi was sizing the Ice-mage up. However, he was just feeling awkward standing just out in the open like that.

" You know, I think I can give you one small lesson on luck. Sometimes, you have to just throw caution to the wind and try to capitalize on opportunities that crop up. To casual observers you will look lucky, but honestly it is just wielding surprise. Bold actions surprise, inspire, and amuse people. You just have to use it to your advantage. Be warned though, the road to skill at it is filled with suffering though, I mean look at this...............Had I been Lucky as you call it......... I'd be helping a dryad wash right now....right??" Asahi spoke casually as he come to stand side by side with the fox. " There is more to Luck than just that, but as you work on this skill the rest will fall into place. In fact I have a good first mission for you. As a Noble you know you will need allies, both in your country and from outside the empire. Here in this bath you can find two noble-ladies, one from your country and one from outside of it. So capitalize on that. Go slide into their group, and make a couple friends. I mean, you are one of the Great Ice-mages of the North right?"

Asahi certainly wondered if all of this would work out, but it seemed like a swell idea from his perspective. He wasn't wrong in his thinking, at least he didn't feel like he was. He just hoped there really wasn't a Bad-luck goddess setting him up. Nevertheless, he offered up his opinions to the mage.

" The only other advice I can offer is this; The Panda is super sensitive, easily hurt , socially awkward, but desperate to look cool. The Plant-girl, on the other hand, is what we call back home....Tsundere, which means she is harsh on the outside but once you get past it she is soft and sweet. If you can work with that info then you shouldn't have a problem making allies of them." Asahi continued " Well, on that note I best get going. I don't really want to get beaten for disobeying the Panda-lady.....I mean I did piss her off pretty badly after all, and she did tell me to fuck off."

"It is true that [Lune Elves] tend to be close knit in their communities but my sister wanted to go off and slay a powerful vampire and then we lost contact with her for years, which I know may not sound very long particularly for us Fae but it was..many years of suddenly no contact, I feel like even for our standard. I was very worried that she had been killed, her friend advised her against going, but she was determined, and I guess in a way she was killed which was part of the reason she never came back..but thankfully she's back now."

Shael smiled almost looking a bit relieved.

She nodded with a soft slight smile, "I figured as much, just figured I'd make the offer if it was deemed helpful."

Shael then listened to Euthalia's more thorough explanation to Nikita of what the situation was with the pre-bathing.

At Islwyn's comment she looked briefly at Nikita a bit more appraisingly, before looking away once more. She was right, Nikita did look a bit more..healthy, taller even, that was interesting, she wasn't aware a human could shift that dramatically in the period of time she thought she had seen her for.

She then listened to the bid to help wash from Keone to Nikita and Islwyn promptly responding that she thought they should help out Nikita instead, it sounded like she was in a pretty good mood overall.

Shael gave a small nod to Keone. "Very well I'll see what I can do, feel free to direct me." She'd make her way over, speaking with a relatively kind tone, into a position where she could reach said tail, and grab what was appropriate for washing such a surface, before replying to Euthalia,

"Personally I think that Lady Vaitiare, is a traditionalist from her country who strongly believes in the system she just described to us, she also strikes me as someone who was testing the waters..perhaps a bit mischievous in some ways, with that offer she gave to our human interloper from earlier..with that said I think it would be wise of us to watch out for further social tests or otherwise moving forwards as it seems to me she's trying to decide if she truly can either..tolerate or perhaps even enjoy our company or not, that was my perception at the very least...even if it's perhaps not as keen as some others might be in social situations like yourself with your background." She'd try to answer thoroughly.

A bath to sit around and not get cleaner? that was strange that wasn't a bath, a bath was about getting clean. Nikita didn't fully get it, but she was sure things like this probably existed everywhere and she was trying to learn about the world. So she would at least remember not all baths were about getting clean some were just about sitting in water. Nikita did doubt that there would be bubbles in the bath as she had a flash of a half forgotten memory of the pink bubbles that filled a tub during a bubble bath. Nikita remembered those baths that were also about playing in the bubbles now, and she remembered being washed but the details of who were washing her were lost to the mists of time.

Nikita was brought back to reality by Islwyn touching her hair her mind snapping back to reality. Euthalia didn't want help, Keone had semi asked for help and Nikita would have helped if not for her memories and Islwyn saying that Nikita herself might need her. Nikita also realized that islwyn said she would be pretty after a blink or two. Nikita blinked another few times pushing away the thoughts of before and now as she had been told she was getting pretty and that was the now.

" I haven't had a real wash in years so i guess i could use help" Nikita mused letting Islwyn play with her hair more as it was true she needed help " Though will i really be pretty as pretty as you Keone?" she asked innocently to her the other two women were pretty despite being different species, shale was a bit to pale and always made Nikita think she might not be feeling well on a deep level, and Euthalia was something else other than pretty.

When Euthalia asked about thoughts about the panda, Shale had a far nicer opinion than Nikita, and honestly a more complex one. " The Pangoro lady is mean " Nikita said bluntly not exactly having the grace in social situations to be polite about her thoughts. " and she really likes to focus on Euthalia, i don't like it. " Nikita couldn't put her feelings into words, but Vaitiare seemed to want to impress Euthalia perhaps? Nikita was sure that Vaitiare was far more interested in Euthalia than anyone around her and it seemed to go beyond the normal Euthalia is the diplomat and thus the center. " Maybe she wants a house plant?" Nikita half asked half joked not really sure why she would think that but well it seemed Vaitiare wanted Euthalia.

She'd nod at 'years' not being all that long. Decades would come closer to 'long' time-frames. Seeing how little Sylvari tended to care about family bonds, she couldn't really relate to that bit either. “Right, I'm happy to hear that for you.” Euthalia decided to settle on replying, believing it best not to pry further into the topic.

Listening to Shael's observations about Shael, she'd sit down and think it through after having finished up washing herself. “I'm not entirely sure. She seemed relatively lenient on talking to those way below her caste. Perhaps it's just curiosity though.” That was the first thing that had stood out. “She did come across as testing the waters to me as well.” An apt proverb in their current situation.

Euthalia nodded upon the next bit. “I'm expecting more tests as well, as it certainly felt like her offer of having servants wash me was one...” Euthalia sighed, shaking her head. She'd narrowly escaped that one. “I'm ever so more glad I didn't come alone.” That said, there was a sense of morbid curiosity. “What would you have chosen to do, in that situation?” She'd ask Shael.

There was one confusing bit. “Like myself with my background?” She wasn't entirely sure what Shael meant by that bit. Her background was rather complex and her tolerance and interactions with non-Fae had varied wildly through-out the years, so she wasn't sure what exactly Shael was talking about right now.

Nikita's words confused her. Starting with the first. “Pangoro..? Is that another one of those pokémons you kept mentioning? I don't think she'd appreciate being called that. I'm fairly certain her Beast subrace is that of a Panda.” As for the next bit, she did sigh. “It's probably just because I've got the most political status, making me the most important person to try... well, impress, entrap or overall engage with, as I haven't yet figured out her overall goals.”

The next bit irked Euthalia a bit. Her sense of humour not being in line with Nikita's joke, to say the least. She figured she'd get right back at Nikita. “Should I or those with me mess up badly enough, she might indeed use it as an excuse to enslave me and use me as such.” She replied, which was incredibly unlikely, but not technically impossible.

The snake, not being a social mastermind, was genuinely surprised Shael was actually down to help out and unable to hide as much. She'd curl and slither herself into some shapes, to point out a few parts along the middle of her tail. “Those are the hardest to reach, no matter how hard I twist and turn. My underside is where all the dirt gets stuck. The scales tend to be too tough to move much if you go against their direction, but brushes should be able to go underneath and clean up the dirt there, even though it can be ticklish.” On the topic of brushes, it seemed there were enough supplies around to take are of things. Likely due to the many different needs that beasts would need to clean themselves, be fur, scales, feathers or hides.

The snake was not used to being complimented all that much either. “What...? Me, pretty?” She quickly untied her hair band to let it fall across her face and started soaping up her hair. “Right, sure, sure, you would be.” She'd quickly state, not wanting the random Human to throw her off her game of getting ready to enjoy warm waters. Perhaps she could even snag some lotion bottles, as there were some shiny looking ones for sure.

Islwyn Meadhra

“Oh me, oh my~” Islwyn stated upon hearing Nikita hadn't had a real wash in years, as she'd skip and hop over, grabbing lots of soaps, shampoos, lotions, brushes, scrub stuff... Arms full of said weaponry, she'd hop and skip back. “You may want to keep your eyes closed or they'll start getting itchy and prickly~” She'd state and she'd turn the Human into a walking soap-being to ensure she'd be scrubbed clean head to toe.

The fox wagged their tail more upon learning that Asahi was indeed here for sightseeing as well. “That's great! So long as we don't get caught, I know some really good spots to see the best sights, if you know what I mean!” They'd reveal, sounding mischievous enough.

The fox would turn in circles to keep eyes on Asahi as the latter walked around them. “Do you think so? I think you were lucky you got to talk to them like you did and didn't get beaten or whipped in public! Or would you be into that kind of thing?” They asked, tilting their head at the last option. “Although you're right! If you were really, really, really lucky, you might've been washing a dryad... though between you and me, I've heard they don't have any bits at all.”

Some motivation and determination seemed to well up as they'd nod. “Courage to cease the moment! I think I got it!” They'd reply. Sadly enough, his next suggestion was met with them shaking their head. “I'm not allowed to enter the bathhouse after what I did, lady Vaitaire made that pretty clear.”

Upon hearing him planning to go, they'd droop their tail. “Weren't we going to do sightseeing? Look, look.” They gesture for him to follow. Should he do so, they'd point at some stairs and ladders to the back of the building. “These are only used by servants, so they're out of sight and not often used. However, I notices there are some a fair few opening for air to ventilate that look directly into what's inside. Pretty great, right? Right?” They'd state, tail wagging.

I've heard they don't have any bits at all............

Those words hung in Asahi's mind as the fox continued to talk. He had never met a Plant-person before and was consequently very uncertain as to the existence of their bits. He was certain they had something, even if Asahi and the fox might not recognize them as such. However, he felt that the doujins he had read in his past had grossly led him astray. This sudden revelation left him just a little disappointed. He also wondered what it was the fox had done to get in trouble but he kind of figured it was related to sightseeing, and so he kept his mouth shut. Instead he simply followed the fox as they led him to a set of ladders and stairs at the back of the building.

“These are only used by servants, so they're out of sight and not often used. However, I notices there are some a fair few opening for air to ventilate that look directly into what's inside. Pretty great, right? Right?”

He listened to those words and he took in the ladders and the stairs. He looked at the building, and he thought to himself as he stroked his chin lightly. Asahi weighed the risks carefully. He knew that he should leave. He knew how upsetting it would be for the girls and he could easily visualize the slave magic being cast on himself. Despite all of this; he also knew that he was going to peep. This was a golden opportunity, and it had just fallen into his lap.

" You son-of-a-bitch, I'm in" Asahi declared boldly " Which openings are we looking for exactly? Let's hurry up and seize this opportunity. You made a great find."

Nikita did as islwyn said she vaguely remembered shampoo and that you should close your eyes with it. she had of course not had any in around 10 years, she might have had a little soap and such after Nova attacked, but she couldn't fully remember. Really she had gotten used to being scrubbed by her own hands and some water as clean enough for washing up and not constantly washing herself when she got really busy.

" Yeah a Pangoro its black and white and looks something like her " Nikita responded to Euthalia's question " I don't think we have panda where i came from or lots of your animals " That had been made rather clear that her world's animals had developed beyond differently than the animals of this world. Thought what Euthalia said about her or the others messing up enough to get Euthalia enslaved did scare Nikita. in truth her first instinct was rush at Euthalia and plead that she would be good while clinging to her. it was the childish desire to seek the parent or whoever you saw as an authority figure and try to make things better when you messed up. It was likely only because her eyes were closed so she wasn't sure where Euthalia was that kept Nikita from doing just that.

" i'll be good i don't want you to be with the mean lady " Nikita said both sullen and determined, She had messed up because she didn't know the proper etiquette so she would try harder to be extra polite to the panda lady she didn't want Euthalia to be taken by her after all. She wanted to stay with Ruthalia and the panda lady didn't like her so nikita doubted that she would let her stay by Euthalia.

Shael noted that Euthalia seemed agreeable on the sentiment that time was different for Fae.

She then gave a bit of a small smile, and a nod of confirmation. “Thank you, I appreciate that.”

“I suppose it’s possible she’s more flexible, but a curiosity seems more likely from what I can tell, unless she’s more open minded than I originally thought.”

Shael then nodded, “Mhm, I agree, tests..we should assume there may be more to come.”

“I’m pleased that I was able to follow you to assist.”
Shael nodded.

“Well I’m fortunate that I don’t have the same imagine to uphold on a regular basis as you do as a Diplomat. With that said however I am from the Xyvern family..if I was posed with a similar situation, I would either reassert that I can do it myself and that she doesn’t need to trouble herself with providing me such a service, or if I had too..It would be whichever was most convenient for her.”

Shael answered honestly, not being so caught up in what race was touching her or not, with her less than common attitude among fae.

“What I mean by background is your qualifications and status as a Diplomat of the Fae See.” she’d clarify simply.

“I’m certain you’ll be fine, you have great allies at your side.” Shael complimented Euthalia’s companions after her follow up comment to Nikita.

Shael nodded with Keone’s explanation at where Shael could assist her with the cleaning process.

“Understood, I’ll do my best to help you out, please feel free to tell me at anytime if I should adjust what I’m doing.” Shael continued, as she grabbed the appropriate brush to her understanding and prepared it.

Presuming that Keone was ready, Shael got to work, using the brushes to the best of her ability in the way she had been advised to.

She found what Nikita said to be most curious like a panda but not? What did that mean? Regardless the latter part was endearing.

“Case and point.” Shael then stated with a smile at Nikita’s determination to be good, referencing back to when she said Euthalia had good allies.

“Right. Just keep in mind not to call her that. Or perhaps it'd be best you don't address her directly? Just use Lady Vaitiare if there's no other option than to address her.” Honestly, she had no clue on how to prepare Nikita for that bit. She just hoped the girl would be wise enough not to mess up.

On the topic of messing up, seeing just how much impact her words might've made on Nikita, she felt little bit bad. “The chances if it happening will be very low, just keep being good and there's nothing to worry.” She'd state, trying to at least be slightly nicer, albeit not even really sure why she bothered. Honestly, she'd not really been herself lately in general. Calliope's decision to break up had gotten her out of her usual self more than she'd thought.

She'd listen to Shael. “Curiosity and open-mindedness often tend to blend into one another. An open mind is more curious about what's new and curiosity drives one to be more open-minded in learning new things.” She'd voice her take on it. In other words, either were likely a good thing, though still a bit of an iffy one. Especially with regards to the next bits. Tests. She'd nod upon hearing Shael also assumed there'd be more such occasions.

Hearing what Shael replied next, however, was peculiar. “Even if it'd mean that she'd sent us our own kin that was held in slavery?” That was the one topic Euthalia feared would come up. The idea of Fae being enslaved felt wrong. Very wrong. Humans she could understand, beasts might be iffy, but still somewhat understandable. Yet Fae? It felt like enslaving their race was just a step too far.

The background bit got a nod. The allies bit a smile. “So it seems.” She'd confirm. It was indeed neat to have some back-up, most of the time. That made any burden a lot lighter. As for Nikita being a case in point, Euthalia had to admit it to be true. “Indeed, she's starting to show me that not all Humans are born bad. I'm starting to think that, perhaps most of them, are just ruined by their culture and how they are raised.” Euthalia becoming a progressive? The world was truly turning upside down.

Islwyn Meadhra
uSlu8FB.png

“Ha! You'll be nearly unrecognisable after this great soapening!” Islwyn would proclaim, getting a bit too much into soaping up Nikita and washing her hair like it was meant to become shinier than the sun itself. Perhaps she wanted to see if she could turn Nikita herself into a shiny? She'd also try to untangle some bits whilst at it. “We should bring you to Ophenia for a sleepover and dress you up~” She'd suddenly had that brilliant idea. That'd be a lot of fun. “Did you ever have sleepovers before? It's where you gather with a group, dress up, eat snacks, have fun... Ehm... Honestly, I'm not sure what is all accompanied by it, we'd have to ask Ophenia again, as I'm just used to the Satyr way of having sleepovers and those are very, very different~”

Keone Nagendra

The snake's world was turning upside down. Figuratively and literally. Literally as she'd turn around to get the underside of her tail scrubbed. Figuratively due to a Fae doing it, of all races. “Right... he.. hehehe... There.” She'd try to hold in a chuckle, as like she said, it was rather ticklish.

After a bit, they'd hear an knock on the door, followed by the voice of a Human. “The lady is ready and wishes to receive her guests. Please ready yourselves to come out and follow me.” She'd state. Euthalia gave the others a knowing look of 'well, it's go-time' as she'd wrap a towel around her. Not that there was much to hide on her, but from what she'd gathered, that was a common thing to do in these places.

It seemed that some proverbs did not carry over all that well, as they tilted their head upon hearing Asahi's words. “Normally, only my father gets to call my mother that without loosing his head.” They replied, more confused than angered. “Also, I'm not a son.” She'd clarify.

That said, she seemed glad to hear that Asahi was into her plans and plots, as her tail was wagging up a storm. “Great! Great, I knew I'd found someone like-minded!” She'd state, as she'd started climbing some ladders and stairs, until she got just about up to a hole from which hot air and vapours seemed to be coming. She needed to try stand on her toes to see through... only to get back down. “So, what sights are you looking for? If the schedule I spotted when inside is right...”

She'd point at some other holes. “The lady's personal guards should be taking a bath over there, in the lower baths. Some really muscular and strong men and women. The bulky kind that'd keep a mage like me safe on the battlefield and warm during other times...” She stared off with a dopey smile for a bit.

Snapping back to it, she'd continue. “Then some of the other servants would be washing there, the more eh... social-appealing looking ones?” She'd point at some other holes, on the same level, yet other side of the building.

“This one, all the way up here, I think, is where she might ask the plant, snake, deer, pale elf and human to come and go herself, so this one might be a tad too risky. I can't see through it well, but it does seem to have a great angle. Though none of them were all that muscular, or were they? You saw them from up close.”
