Untested Leader -3Nat & CrescantHowler-

--Prolouge--

Deep in the Pine filled forest of the Northern Appalachian Mountains in Canada. A pack, by the name of Nova, is in certain fear of a near war between their rival pack Moncton. All wolves are talking a precautionary evacuation setup just in case their home is destroyed in the raging war that seems to be burning between the two. Loss of habitat, and human hunting is causing the packs to go head to head on game in the area. Deer, Heir, or anything that they can get to.

The Alpha Male of the Nova Pack was taking a small stroll through the forest, observing the area of small rocky cliffs, and small valleys with mud-looking rivers. The crisp, cool air of the morning took in to make the scenery look abandoned, and peaceful. Seemingly endless as the dark purple sky, took away the white dots and replaced it with one shining light high into the sky.

This was the last day this Alpha Male was alive. He could feel it himself that something will go wrong within the next few moments. He kept a guard up though, maybe his future could be changed. He turned around, he can change it if he wanted to. Thus he will now. His ears flicked to the side, and pinned against his head as he heard a small branch make a snapping echo sound. He looked towards where it was, seeing 3 wolves of the Moncton pack, walking closely to him. It was dark enough that they looked like pairs of eyes going towards him.

He was beginning to be worried, but soon got into a defensive position, waiting for their attack. Above one of these cliffs, a forth wolf was trying his best to push a large boulder off of it. The three other wolves moved him back up against the cliff, waiting for the boulder to tumble. Once it did, they howled out in victory, after a painful cracking sound came from where the boulder had landed. The howls went out for miles. Everyone knew the message ‘Leader of Nova Pack is dead. Moncton will be your ruler.’

Nova technically started the tension between the Moncton and them, but Moncton is the one that is pushing it towards a war. It seems they have already set that as such an incident.

---Story---

Later on into the mournful day of the Nova Pack. It was mostly silent. The only noise that was being made, were the beating rhythms of the wolves hearts, and their soft breathing. It was a horrible day to loose their leader. The sun was high, not a cloud was in sight. No haze, no fog. It was a completely clear day, you could see the massive bodies of water all around the Nova Peninsula.

One wolf in particular, was sent down into the Sentinel’s grounds. The Beta, the next wolf in line of the Alpha. This wolf was named Lucas, With Autism, and Asperger’s within him. He had trouble communicating with people and speaking with what needed to be spoken of.

The news was given to him, that he was now the leader of the Nova Pack. It gave him such an initial shock, and he felt scarred, since it was hard for him to communicate. He did the best thing he could do, which was leave immediately. One of the hunters went to stop him, but the leader of the hunters stopped the one hunter. Telling him to “Let him be.”

Lucas went far, far out of the territory of the Nova Pack. Soon reaching the boarders of the Moncton Pack. This area of the pack was barely guarder, but since the leader of the Nova pack was killed, it was now guarder a bit lightly to keep any unwanted person out of the pack. They were in fear of a war, even though they provoked it beyond return…

A young wolf, no younger than the age of three, but no older then five and being the exact age of 4 in the wolf years. She was a black with blue markings that many people didn't understand why she had. Her fur was silky smooth, feeling like a cube of ice when you ran a hand over it. Her eyes scanned th territory as she padded along the border, her eyes flicking every which way at the sound of a footstep or a twig snapping. She was very jumpy, but did her best to be the brave hunter that she was. She slowed down as she entered a large field where she knew she was going to be safe and free form the rest. She was an odd one, they would say. She was weord, they would say. But she believed that she was fine herself.

As Lucas continued on slowly, continuously thinking about the one thing that is problematic the fact that he is the pack leader now in the middle of war. Not the greatest thing for someone of... his nature to be in. A leader who is shy? prosperous, He will be killed by the other pack before he finally made a good decision...

He continued on down the valley, the packs borders to each other, softly moving along right up against the water. Which would sometimes splash up on his paw, and he would end up looking down, then up into the sky... It was such a beautiful day... Very few clouds, the summer breeze. Nothing could make this better... but everything could make it worse, and all he had to do was trip and splash into the water making a loud noise that rang out in the valley, and slightly echoed.

The female relaxed as she heard the sound of water not to far away, making her hoping her destination wasnt to far awaY. She glanced up at the sky and lowered her ears, hoping it would turn dark soon so she could slip through the forest quite easily. She perked her ears forward when she heard the water splashing and quickly took off running towards the small creek not to far away. She flicked her tail with a soft smile and slowed as she arrived, seeing a wolf in the water with a titled head.

Lucas coughed a bit as he stood out of the water quickly shaking out his thick coat quickly, and looked down at what he tripped very and growled, but his eyes slowly went up seeing another wolf there and pretty much froze like a Weaping Angel on Doctor Who. Like, he felt like a statue at that very moment of time when he saw the wolf, even his tail didn't move, it was frozen right where it was as he stared the wolf down.

The other female hasn't moved herself either, her eyes fixed on the male and eyeing him down, that being the only part of her body that was moving at all. She gave a soft growl, still being on her side of the border and trying to show she wasn't scared. Or was she?

As he kept watching, he finally made a move, and was trying to back up, but ended up falling over by a log and soaked him self in mud this time. Now he was really annoyed but tried not to show it at all.

"Are you okay?" The female wolf asked as she slowly began to pad over to her side of the river. "Are you sure your fine?" The Female Ask As SHE stood over the log the male had tripped on. she tilted his head and hummed softly.

He scrambled to his feet and backed away from her nearly tripping again, but avoided it this time as he tried to stay back. He had never seen her before, so his only instinct was that she was from the other pack, and not really trusted.

The girl sat down on the log as her tail curled around her paws. She wasn't interested in hurting the male, just interested to know if he needed medical help from a vet or something. She smiled a little and tilted her head to the side a little

Lucas soon was giving a confused look and tilted his head at her. Why wasn't she going after him at all? He should be dead by now, but he isn't. No matter... He still didn't respond to her though.

The female lowered her ears when he didn't reply, her blue eyes matching the coloring marks on her body. Her eyes studied him, tilting her head a she noticed he was covered in mud and was soaked.

Soon some summer wind breezed blew by and caused him to shiver bit from the cold water and mud that was staining to his fur. He still stared at the wolf carefully.

The femal jumped down from her perch and nuzzled him gently, her ears lowered along wit her body to show she was submissive to the male and she wasn't going to hurt h im enless he hurt her firest.

Lucas wanted to move away from her, being uncomfortable around strangers and such, but when she nuzzled him he felt a weird sensation in his gut, and wasn't sure if he liked it or not... He looked at the female slowly, tilting his head again, sort of liking the warmth from her. Even though he hasn't said anything to her, he felt like they were getting closer to friends, or minor acquaintances.

"Names Ruby." The girl sat as she sat down next to him and put a paw I n his back to help groom out the large pieces of mud that gad gotten stuck to his back with a kind smile on her lips.

Lucas at least acknowledged her name by giving her a nod as she rubbed his back to get the mud off, still feeling that feeling in his gut, and it felt very weird, but he still stayed where he was so it wouldn't be a bother to her.

The female smiled and stood up once she had gotten the mud off his fur and giving his scent a soft sniff. "Your from that one pack.. aren't you?" She asked woth a tilted heaD, eyes soft and caring.

He put his ears back when she said that and slowly nodded softly in her direction. Still has not said one word to her yet. He didn't know what to say to her, and he didn't want his first words to be something so dumb that he'd be too embarrassed to talk to her again.

"Heard your alpha now eh?" The female asked as she cocked her head to the side with a soft wagging tail. "Cam you speak?" She asked with a frown

That made him even more nervous when she said that he was alpha. The last one was killed by her pack, who knows if she would do the same. He heard her asked if he spoke, but he didn't acknowledge it.

The female laid beside the male and showed her ears lowered back as she licked under his chin to show she wasn't going to hurt him. She wasn't going to hurt him enless she had to.

Lucas tensed up, starting to wonder why this female was so liking him. He got the feeling in his gut again, and looked down at her meeting her beautiful eyes, and he studied her for a bit, and slowly smiled at her a bit.

The female smiled when she felt the male slowly warming up to her. She knew she wasn't suppose to talk to packs she didn't know, but why nor? You only had one life to live and she wanted to make it full

He looked around a moment, and then slowly moved laying down next to her, keeping his head away from her still. He smiled at least, but still hasn't talked. and still has his small doubts about Ruby.
