Fantasy Unnatural Academy

Osto noted that Amelia had run a hand over his spine sword. He stood up. "Okay," he told Jessie. He then turned to Amelia, and walked back to the centre of the sparring room. He pointed his sword at her. "Come," he told her.

I walked into the sparring room, after noticing several people gathering inside. Well... I didn't know it was a sparring room at the time until I stepped in and saw the octagonal ring and everyone holding a weapon or getting into a fighting stance. I walked off to the side where Todd was, after smelling the popcorn. "U-Uh... h-hi!" I bowed politely, holding my new-old bow in front of me.

"Hi! Are you gonna smack someone with that bow?" Todd asked, before glancing at the popcorn bag. "Shame I left my giant tub of popcorn at home." He glanced at Osto's spine sword from across the room. "How can he walk with that thing out of his body?"

"O-Oh no, I just noticed people gathering here... so my curiosity got the best of me, ya see? I-I actually just made this... well... kind of... it's sort of hard to explain." I chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of my head, I looked at the bag of popcorn and I was certain that this was a subtle hint that he didn't want to share. Then, I looked over at Osto. "I... have no idea... magic... I guess?" I scratched the back of my head. "Logically speaking, he shouldn't be able to do anything, in fact, I'm eighty percent sure he should be dead..."

Todd shrugged, and held the bag out to Joe. "Popcorn?" He then glanced around the room. "Also, we might want to step somewhere else, in case blood is shed over here."

Mikhail looked over when he heard Todd and waved back "privet!" He sat down next to him and took a bit of popcorn from the bag, popping a few pieces in his muzzle. "Da, I do need a place to sleep the night" he looked over at Osto and Amelia.

"O-Oh, uh, sure, thank you." I smiled and took a piece and popped it in my mouth, rubbing my fingers off on my pants. "And... probably true..." I rubbed the back of my head and then turned and looked at Mikhail. My face went pale once more and I looked down. "H-Hi..."

"Privet" Mikhail cast a bit of a smile toward Joe "we haven't met yet right?" He extended a paw toward Joe "I am Mikhail"

"U-Um... my name is Joe... it's nice to meet you." Not wanting to be rude, I took his paw and shook it. I tried my best not to show my unease, but I was sure that I wasn't doing that good of a job.

"Da, a pleasure" Mikhail's smile turned into a questioning look "Are you alright? you seem a bit uncomfortable"

"A-Ah! I'm sorry..." I bowed apologetically. "I-It's not you... really... it's me... I-I well... I've never killed anything before, not even an insect, not on consciously or on purpose, anyway." I rubbed the back of my head. "Y-Yesterday... I... I well... I had to kill some wolves... I didn't want to... but they were going to kill me. The animals on this island are a lot bigger and a lot more aggressive than normal animals... so they wouldn't flee... So I... so I... had to kill them... and then I had to skin them afterwards..." I looked like I was going to be sick. "A-And... since your form is that of a humanoid wolf... it just keeps triggering the memories... I-I mean... usually, I'd probably find something like this cool... and pretty cute too... I-I'll get over it, I promise... but right now..." I trailed off and looked down.

Amelia saw the new arrivals, but frankly didn't care. "I need to take my mind off of things. Out of sheer curiosity, why are you here too?" She said as she formulated a plan to counteract that sword. Presumably her techniques would be able to disrupt it when she struck, but on the other hand, if he did not use his chi or a similar force to control his bone magic, she did not have very many other techniques which could be very effective. Close range combat was her forté, but his bone magic could likely counteract her assault. All of these thoughts raced through her mind in and instant, before she pulled out her needles, accurately throwing them to efficiently take him down. Despite her skill with these weapons, she was not sure if they would hit. If he was fast enough, he could deflect them, despite the spread of the darts, perhaps even turning his endoskeleton into an exoskeleton. She launched several more volleys of her needles, mainly practicing her form and aim. As she threw the last wave, she raced them, arriving at Osto an instant behind them, and struck with both hands, one to his armpit to redirect and hopefully disrupt his defensive blade maneuvers, and the other to his neck for a quick disabling stroke. She fell back with a side blade kick, not really to strike, but to gain some distance between them, and then danced lithely into a more defensive posture to review the damage.

OOC
Just how would the bone magic work against chi-blocking? What are the effects which allow for such a manipulation of bone?

"Ah, i see" He patted Joe on the shoulder shortly before his attention turned back to the sparring rings as Osto and Amelia appeared to begin their match

I turn my head seeing a few gather to watch that guy who keeps coming to my room for my roommate. I give a sigh taking a break to walk over to them. "Hey. And jeez. Popcorn? You were prepared for a show." I say leaning against the wall. I give a small wave to Joe before glancing at Amelia and Osto. ".....Is that a spine?...His spine? And he's standing?.....Well that's another weird thing to add to the list of oddities today."

Osto responded to Amelia'a attacks by raising his spine, and blocked the needles. However, he could easily see that there were several coming towards him. He took off his shirt, having grown a new layer of bones around the outside of his skin, creating armor. It stopped the needles, but Osto wasn't quick enough to stop Amelia from redirecting his blade, and felt the disabling blow to his neck. He winced, and placed a hand to his neck. His armor had prevented the blow from doing any real damage, but it still hurt. He also knew that he couldn't keep the armor in a realized state for very long. It always wore him down.

"I have a fifty on the spineless dude," Todd said, munching popcorn. "However, I also have a thirty on the girl." He offered the popcorn bag to the newcomer.

"A-Ah, I don't think we should be making bets on such things..." I rubbed the back of my head. "...But, I think the girl's gonna win... I mean... he's spineless after all." I couldn't help but crack a smile and snicker a little. "Um... that was bad, wasn't it...? Oh uh... I just don't think he has the back bone to win this one. That... was bad too, wasn't it...?"

Todd reached into his shoulder bag and produced a can of cola, which he shook and cracked open, spraying it's contents over Joe, an annoyed look on his face.

"Booooo."

I wasn't expecting a reaction like that, I spluttered and flailed my arms, I stepped back, trying to get out of the geyser of cola spraying on to me. "H-Hey!" I frowned. "I was just trying to be punny." I pouted and looked down, hoping I could slip that one in there. "Now I gotta go get changed and wash this before it stains..."

"H-Hey!" I turned around and ran away. I went up to the room, wiped the cola off of my bow, unstrung it, and then stored it back in its bag. I then quickly washed the cola off in the showers, changed, and then rushed down to the laundry room and put my cola soaked clothing into one of the washers. I walked back down to the sparring room and walked up to Todd. The whole thing couldn't have taken more than five minutes, and I hadn't taken the time to thoroughly dry myself, so I was still dripping wet. "You're a real jerk, ya know." I pouted and crossed my arms. I didn't really seem to mind it though, eventually the pout gave way to an amused smile.

Todd cracked a grin of his own. "Been called worse. Been called better... oooh, I think someone's tooth got knocked out...." his attention returned to the fight, crumpling up the now empty popcorn bag.

Jessy watched as the battle began and heard some guys talking next to her, not to far away and when she looked over she heard them betting and furrowed her eyebrows before laying her head back down, a little bit later she heard one all the other a jerk and she looked over again seeing them smiling she rolled her eyes and got up to stretch, she rubbed away the sleepiness and since her headache was still lingering sheonly took her hood off to fix her hair before putting it back on and sitting down hoping she didn't catch anyone's attention...which probably didn't happened since she moved around to much for that one moment

Osto had heard people say he had no spine. He turned to them, a confused look on his face. "I'm not limited to just one spine," he told them, before reaching his hand behind his back. A new spine came out, and he pulled it out, before connecting it to the one he had already grown. He turned back to Amelia. "That was a nice attempt," he told her, and then charged. He swung the spine at her legs, trying to trip her up.

I look over at Joe and Todd with a sigh. I look to Todd. "Could of been a little nicer. Not the worst jokes in the world." I shrug going back to watching the fight bored. "....Interesting to watch a fight but not the best thing to watch for too long. Wonder how long they'll keep going at it."
