Fantasy Unlikely Alliance

Mae followed everyone over to the tables then looked for her name and found it in a fancy cursive. Then she looked for the one beside her and noticed there wasn't one, she peered down under the table to see if it fell. Nothing.

She wasn't sure if she was supposed to be Nervous or Joyous.

She gave a well concealed smirk then sat down and watched other people, some looked happy, some looked nervous, some looked like they'd rather eat there pair then marry them...

So pleasant. She was trying to ignore the dress because A) the colour was so bright it blinded her and b) Breathing was kind of a necessity she wasn't getting at the moment.

It seemed she either didn't have a match and they messed up or he just decided not to show. Either way it meant she got free food.

Alessia walked over to her name card, raising an eyebrow when she noticed that the dragon from earlier was next to her assigned seat. "We meet again." Her tone was cool as she spoke and took her seat. Logically speaking, he was her fiance. Great. It's Chuckles. She thought sarcastically. She folded up her name card and made it fly away with a small burst of wind.

Marcus~

He followed the princess and the familiar looking woman into the dining hall, joining the rest of the guests as they prepared for the coming meal. Seeing as each place was named, he quickly found he seat. Marcus looked around him, seeing that he was directly across from the woman before, Alessia, he believed that's what the princess called her. He nodded to her politely, and continued to scan the room....

Gawain re-read the damn letter that some pissy ass elder sent his alter ego so he could get 'married'. They wanted the alter ego, a noble man of the shadow dragon clan, to get married to some woman that would take up most of his time away from his job. The damn elders didn't know what he, Gawain, did under their noses. Except for that crystal dragon elder...That man got pissed when he tried to even flirt with his twin. Scary man but very handsome and sadly not into being pansexual like his highly sexy twin. A hand on waist caught his attention and he smiled. The meetings can wait a few more hours since he had a job to finish.

-Few hours later- Gawain was walking out of his target's house with sack full of artifacts, jewels, and gold. He left some for the man to notice he had been robbed blind from under his nose by an unknown thief and a missing lover for the night. On top of it, he never gave the man his name. Silly human. He shadow traveled to a nearby fence, purchaser of stolen goods, and sat the sack down in front of the surprised man/woman. The damn fox can't seem to pick a damn gender to stay in.

"I believe this will cover the rest of the year for the guild, Aideen."

The fox shapeshifter looked at him confused as it looked up from going through the bag of treasure.

"Whadda mean?"

He looked at the shapeshifter with a defeated look on his face.

"The council of elders has commanded that I, Adele/Gawain, be given a human mate to satisfy a peace treaty between the two races. A sad day for me...No more running off to random beds and robbing my lovers blind. No more being a thief, Aideen! You know that means! I can't steal with a human as a mate since you know the rival guilds are just waiting to find leverage over my head! And all that money, fame, and reputation I have built up the years will vanish like an unstable fireball!"

He said while grabbing the fox shifter and shaking it.

"My life as a thief is over..."

He said as he sat down in a cushy loveseat of Aideen's, placing one leg over the arm while looking sexy as well. The fox licked its lip but stopped when Gawain shot a glare at it.

"No, Aideen. You know I don't sleep with my fences, no matter how beautiful they are. I rather keep business and pleasure separate with fences...Well, might as well haul myself up to the peace talks so I can get back to thieving faster."

Gawain said as he left Aideen alone with the treasure and the fox smiled before, trying, grabbing a jewel and hissed in pain.

"'amn Gawain. He knew I wanted some of the loot...*Sigh*...Might as well sort it out and catalog it for future use for the guild."

The fox said before doing its job.

Gawain had bathed and shadow traveled to many places in order to get to the peace meetings as well as mark unknown locations for future shadow travel. Once out of a nearby shadow, he allowed the shadows to dress him in a light fitting outfit bet fit his 'station'. He also did mark some shadows so he could 'visit' again to see what precious items cried out to be lifted. He entered the greeting hall and had to hide his grin when he saw the crystal dragon elder's twin looking absolutely delectable in her armor. He loved it when his lovers showed off their strength...A shiver went down his spine.

'Calm down. There's no time for flirt...Hello handsome~!'

He thought as he caught sight of the storm dragon elder. So damn sexy~ but oh so not a piece of action. He didn't want to be fried by that man, no matter how sexy he was! He then heard the call for dinner and smiled. Maybe he was going to sit next to Shiyam...Oh another shiver~!

Esmae re adjusted the dress, for the third time in five minutes.

She turned and looked at the others, then huffed as she could barely turn. I swear this thing is out to get me. she thought to herself, her gold eyes rolling at the thought.

The blonde then subtly turned and watched, huffing as the stupid dress got to the point she couldn't breath.

With a huff she abruptly stood, storming out of the room and tearing off the sleeves to her dress, then tearing it off completely.

The maids had stuffed her in a short white thing under it, probably something to make you look thin or smooth or whatever she really didn't care, at least she wasn't in her undergarments.

Mae walked over to a couch that sat in the hall and sat down with a huff. Pulling off excess dress.

She probably seemed angry or agitated but she as really just relieved to breath.

Without even acknowledging the staring few in the hall she put her head on her hand with a huff and gave a bored expression, her eyes giving off that owl look they seemed to be amazing at as she did so.

Gawain didn't know if to be extremely happy a lady got fed up with her dress that she tore it off and in her pantaloons no less or cringe at the sight of her undress. Gawain had to go with extremely happy~! The woman may be a human but he might get...don't think with your lower brain, Gawain think with your actual brain.

"Excuse me miss but I can't help but notice your lack of dress. While it looks fabulous on you, being near nude and all, I do say that I may have a better dress for you to try on. One that wouldn't be as tight and uncomfortable as the last one."

Gawain said before he held out his right hand.

@DeadlyFluffy

She stared at the mans hand then at his eyes and then at the hand again, "I'm sorry but I prefer not to wear dresses in general." she said, Does he realize all dresses are tight in one way or another? she wondered to herself.

He seemed like someone who wouldn't be used to someone just rejecting there offer, but to be fair she rejected most things.

Esmae also didn't feel like taking a dress from a stranger, "Now if you excuse me I am off to get pants on and then get married off to a stranger so Good bye." she said then got up and walked into the hallway were two maids grabbed her and dragged her off with frantic squeals to get clothes on, trying to cover her lack of formal attire even though she didn't particularly care.

After changing into well fitting brown leather pants and a white blouse she decided she looked presentable and walked back to the dining hall and sat down in her seat again.

She picked up what appeared to be a silver goblet filled with wine and took a sip before placing it back down and eyeing the chandelier on the roof.

It was odd but it almost seemed like the castle sucked the fun out of her or maybe that was the dresses.

Fisethal entered the castle with a slight feeling of agitation. She had ran late. Of course, she suspected that most people wouldn't mind if she explained that she had to see to someone particularly frail, but it still bothered her. She was greeted by some servants who asked her name. When she gave it, they looked at her oddly- well, her name was strange- but led her to the dining hall. She saw that the table was almost full, so she must be one of the last ones to arrive... "Sorry I'm late." She apologized to the group, then walked to her assigned spot and sat down. She nodded slightly to the dragons she knew and looked around, curious on who else exactly was chosen. She had been out of the loop until she was told to come. She recognized Marius and Zain, who were in the Elder Council, but that was pretty much all. She also noticed a battle-scarred human. It seems that both races had similar ideas. She thought, thinking of Marius. A veteran of human-dragon battles, healers, assassins, sheltered or spoiled children.... Fisethal was curious.

-----------------------

Kadami was a little discouraged at not getting a response from the humans, but a little discouragement hadn't stopped her before. When the others came in, she found her seat and was surprised to find out that she was on the side of Marius and the girl. She rested her head in her hand, trying not to talk to him. She knew that his thoughts on humans were almost opposites. She was curious and fascinated when it came to humans, while he seemed to hate them. Not that she didn't see his position- he fought in the war, after all. She looked around, unsure what to do or who to talk to, so kept quiet.

Gawain sighed before licking his lips. He did need to go to the dining room and meet his soon to be spouse to get acquainted with her/him, if they did place him with a man. Oh fun it will be to flirt with the person but the alias would only go so far when they get back to his house. There, everyone worked for the guild and called him Gawain when no guests were around, but with a wife in tow, that will change a lot things in the guild. First the woman would have to give up being rigid (if she was) or hated stealing from others as he wouldn't give up just so she could be happy. If the woman hates him, so be it. More time to spend with the guild and possibly plot how to turn the woman over to the law. He walked into the dinning hall and looked for his name, found it and sat down to look over to his left. Oh joy, the dragons Last light was sitting next to him but the storm dragon elder was sitting across from him. Yummy~!

Shiyam came to her place and began to sit down before sighing and helping her twin sit down. This dinner will be difficult for him as everything that was set on the table had no aura. Zain sat down with his twin's help and immediately began to blink in rapid succession as no aura appeared before him. Oh hell, this is going to be a problem. Shiyam sighed once more before looking for the hostess for some help for her twin.

Vermiculus stood in a corner, unsure as to what to do. Everyone seemed so elegant, and here he was, standing in his travel clothes and looking like he just crawled out of mud. Besides that he didn't like being indoors, not enough room to escape with so many people here. He decided that he'd stand where he is until he was told otherwise, lest he does something rude and aggravates one of the Dragons. He definitely didn't wanna upset a Dragon, especially this close to one, and being indoors at that.

Esmae leaned back in her chair, wondering how long she'd have to sit.

She usually got the short end of the stick so this wasn't exactly a surprise.

She picked up her paper nameplate and threw it above her, blowing and allowing it to float around above her as she boredly.

She loathed being in a room of graceful girls and gallivanting men, she felt so out of place it bothered her.

Carissa flew around indicus for a second before settling herself on his shoulder in her Halfling form. She used her wings to keep the most of her slight weight off of him. "okay, like this?"

@Shadow Dancer

Terriana watched the man get to his seat before she turned to her sister and drop into a small curtsey. "Thank you sister for having us in your home." It was the formal thing to say and since this was a government affair, she was required to say it. She walked around the table to look at the cards and found hers after few minutes. She blinked she she saw Zain in her betrothed spot. "This almost feels like fate." She noticed him 'staring' at the table and realized the problem after a few seconds. Taking his right hand she gently picked it up and placed it on his fork and then put his left on the other side of the plate on his knife. "Your plate is directly in the middle, your napkin at 9 o'clock to your left, your cup at 12 o'clock on your right. If you don't mind, how do you normally eat?" She spoke softly and sat down next to him. She hadn't done it herself but she saw nurses that she trained under deal with blind patients before.

@RoyalPhoenix32

Marius tensed at the woman's voice when she sat down next to him. It meant only one thing with the way the seats were, she was his fiance. He watched her trick the the card and frowned. "You use the wind element?" He questioned gruffly.

@AlannaTrebond

Eiliatnae walked through the halls of the foreign castle already itching to get out. There were too many emotions here, not to mention some very odd people. He'd just seen a woman run by in her underclothes for the Mother's sake! He made it to the dining hall and walked in quickly, watching as a servant went to inform the hostess of his presence. Were they just now getting around to telling her? He sighed and walked along the edge of the room, stopping only when he felt the familiar warmth that was only associated with his clan. He walked towards it and looked down at the girl he came up to. "Hello dear."

@AlannaTrebond

@Jayden Kisubo

"Yea, that will work, now lets find our seats." Once Indicus entered the dinning room, the feeling of being outclassed came back with a vengeance. But he was commanded by the king to to this so he found the seat with his name sitting on the table in front of him and looked around dressed in his cloak and traveling cloths with a sword and dagger on his hip while his bow with a quiver of arrows were taken to be stored until he left. While most were in some of their armor or in some fancy clothing with a few in what would be considered by most nobles as peasants cloths

Zain sighed as he was helped by his betrothed.

"I normally eat foods that have an aura around them so can see them. It's very difficult for me to eat without being able to see anything with an aura. I often have my twin infuse her aura into the food so it would be easier on me. To tell you the truth, my twin literally kicks out of the kitchen when it comes to preparing meals."

Zain said while giving a half smile. Shiyam had turned to look at who her twin was talking to and sighed. His bethrothed was talking to him and helping him. She went to her place and sat down before looking to her where betrothed was and saw the dragon's last light sitting in it. While she didn't mind him being her betrothed, he better not run his mouth on how he hates dragons.

@Jayden Kisubo @Icerex

Carissa looked around when Indicus got to his seat and looked around. She chuckled nervously when she saw her name next to him. "Hey Indicus, look" she pointed with a some enthusiasm at her card. She was happy, because unless something change since they were engaged, she had gotten a really nice person!

@Shadow Dancer

She looked at Zain and tilted her head to the side. "do you know how she does it? I could try if you want." It didn't seem like offensive magic, so she might be able to do it. She also just wanted to please him by helping in some way.

@RoyalPhoenix32

Alessia looked over when the dragon asked he a question. "Yes." She said with a slight smile. "Among other things. And since you mentioned 'electrocuting' earlier, you must use lightning." She commented. She wasn't stupid, and it was simple enough logic. "I wonder if they did that on purpose...?" She wondered, then shrugged. It sounded like something that people would try. Common ground and all... "So, what's your name? You already know mine."

----------------

Kadami looked up as someone strange entered. He looked almost elven, but he smelled like a dragon, with markings that she had never seen before. On top of all that... he was warm. She could tell just by looking at him. Like my family. She thought. When he came to talk to her, she smiled, glad that he came over- partially for her curiosity, but partially for someone that would speak with her. "Hello, sir." She paused, trying to be polite, but her curiosity got the better of her. "Have we met before?"

---------------

Solona nodded, acknowledging her sister's words. "Be welcome in my home." She said softly. Shortly after, a messenger hurried in, telling her that her brother knew about a dragon ambassador that was coming to assist with the alliance. "Well, that would explain the stranger." She commented cooly. The messenger looked nervous- Solona wasn't particularly well-known for going easy on those that didn't do their jobs properly. "Well, it's too late to pretend that I already knew about it, isn't it?" She waved the messenger away with nothing further said, then signaled for another servant. "Prepare another place at the table. It seems we have one more guest."

Fisethal looked around for a few more minutes, then noticing a young man standing in a corner, stood and walked over to him. "Hello, there." She gave him a smile. While she mostly kept to herself, he seemed nervous, and she wanted to put him at ease.

@RedZombieWolf

Indicus looked over and noticed that they indeed were sitting next to each other. "It seems we are sitting next to each other." Indicus said with a smile. As he tried to recall something that was on the letter and he felt that it was important, "It'll come back to me later." he muttered to himself

Marcus~

The room began to fill, guests finding their seats and making small talk as they waited for the nights events to begin. Marcus was busy studying the room, and so did not notice when a dark-haired dragon girl sat down at the seat next to him. She didn't seem surprised at his appearance, thus she must either not know him, or severely misunderstands his attitude towards dragons.

Very well, he could use both of those to his advantage.

He turned to her. "Hello, and what might your name be?"

@RoyalPhoenix32

"I am Shiyam. I know who you are, Marcus Aurelius. I know you hate dragons with a passion like the sun and rather I be dead than be married to me but I rather not discuss how I know such things. I care not for peace talks as I leave those to my twin."

She said while Zain leaned back in his chair to 'check' on his twin.

"Zain, I know your trying to keep an eye on me. Stop it."

Shiyam said in Zain's direction before looking back at Marcus

"I'm sorry. My twin is rather overly protective of me."

@Icerex

Marcus~

"Indeed," Marcus replied, a slight smile on his lips. "So you have me
all figured out, how inconvenient." He took a sip of the white wine that had just been served. "Well then, what are your wishes on the matter, surely you can not be happy on being paired with someone of my.......reputation."

"Do not get me wrong. While it is common knowledge on some of your battles, such tales can only go so far from personal detail. As for your reputation and my marriage to you, I could care less for what people say about. People will be people, and dragons will be dragons. Both have their disputes and both are like the other. No matter how the other sees the other as a monster, it the finger that is pointed to the one that calls out who is a monster. For I see whoever points a finger at either race is a monster. We are no different. We have emotions such as you but many cannot see past it. All they see is a scaly beast that is of lesser knowledge than them. We dragons see humans as weak and fragile but...Why does either side see each other as a monster? I do not see a monster like many dragons say you are. I see a man that isn't a monster but a person that fought bravely....What kind of sword did you use to slay your first dragon?"

Shiyam said in one breath before changing the subject to something he would vastly enjoy talking about.

@Icerex

Marcus~

Marcus listened as the woman went into a long-winded tirade, then abruptly stopped, ending with a seemingly caustic question. He thought for a moment. "I did not use a sword to kill him," he replied quietly.
