Under the Shadow of The Old Oak Tree (Rp)

Michahael couldn't hear Jonah's steps behind him anymore and he turned around to see that the prince had vanished. 'Jonah?' He called, looking around. He began to walk back the way they'd come, searching for the prince. 'Jonah!? Shit.. damn it.. i knew this would happen. i just knew it..' He cursed, searching for any hint as to where the boy had gone. He stopped an old woman on her way to the market. 'Have you seen a kid, about this tall? Wearing a hooded cloak?' The old woman shook her head. 'No, sorry love.' She said. Michahael cursed again. Where the hell was that guy?

'Get him in the carriage.' The criminal snarled to his buddy, passing Jonah to him. He ushered the boy into the back of an old supplies transport, shutting the doors on him. 'Don't try to escape now Pet. We're going to make a nice wad of cash on your precious hide, now behave. You might even get to work for some of the upper classes. Now wouldn't that be nice?' He chuckled before he shut Jonah in. He climbed into the front with his friend and they set off. There were other people in the back of the vehicle, more kids around Jonah's age. Kids from the working classes that no one would really miss, or so the criminals thought.

Jonah was a;ready scared of where he could be going as they rather quickly forced him into the back of the transportation carriage and took his place among the other boys around his age with the same defeated face as he had on him now. "I can't believe nobody has even recognized me yet, though it wouldn't do any good to show i'm the prince now. All it would do is make him even more valuable to those filthy goons". Sp Jonah just sat there silently with his knees pulled up to his chest.

Michahael searched for ten minutes. He could find no trace of the prince anywhere. A supply vehincle drove past him, moving at a slow pace so it wouldn't damage its cargo or attract attention. He thought nothing of it, wondering how he could find Jonah. It was obvious now. The boy had been kidnapped. He had to have been. He walked down the street that Jonah had disappeared in, not knowing it was that one of course, and saw a woman scolding her children for telling lies. 'But muuuuummm... i DID see the prince get taken! It was the prince I know it was..' The boy was saying. he couldn't have been more than seven, but Michahael knew he was being honest. He walked over and ten minutes later had a description of the two men that had kidnapped his friend.

After ten minutes the truck pulled up to a halt and the two men had opened the back doors up. They were facing the servants quarters of a large manour house and began ushering the captives into the house. 'Come on now, the lovely business folk want to see all of your smiling faces. Don't look so glum.' The first guy said. his dark hair hung lankly in his eyes as he spoke and he pushed it out with a disfigured hand. It was scarred beyond repair, evidence of previous crimes punished by the glove. Except this time it was either exile or death this guy was facing.

Jonah was still coming to term with what was about to happen to him as they were all shuffled out the back of the wagon. Jonah looked up to the mansion to notice it was one of fathers serious business rivals. " Oh crap" Was all Jonah could think of as they were entering what could be considered as his enemies household for the purposes of being a slave. After a few more minutes all the boys were shuffled into a line at the front of a well wall papered wall as the man walked into the room with a snide look on his face viewing his products for today. Jonah was glad that he at least had his hood on and dipped his head down hoping to hide his face.

The man (Jeff) scanned over all of the working class boys all standing here for the purpose of making my life easier. Jeff shook the Person's hand who brought them all here and noticed one at the end with a hood covering his entire face. He turned to the person on the carriage "Would you mind cheering that lad up enough for me to get good look on his face" he asked with a devious looking smile "If you know what I mean of course' he added coldly.

The man smirked coldly, walking over to the boy and grabbing the hood, pulling his head up by the hair, a knife to his throat. 'Hey kid, look at the man when he's speaking to you.' He snarled, his breath curling out in tendrils of garlic smelling fumes. It was enough to make someone's toes curl. He sneered at the boy, not recognising him as the prince due to his lack of interest in the royal family. 'There you go, he's a fairly good pedigree this one. He was easy to get too. Just walking with a friend without a care in the world. The kid didn't even see the snatch.' He said proudly.

Michahael ran back home, trying to figure out how the hell he could locate Jonah. He ran into the house, stopping in the workshop when he saw the pile of weapons left on the bench. He grabbed one, deciding not to just go in without something to defend himself.

Jonah groaned coughing at nothing but the mere smell of the mans breath directly into his nose. He became scared again at the sight of the blade so close to his neck for the 2nd time today when he realized his bigger problem as he saw Jeff's face Brighten up with the pleasure of seeing the own Royal prince standing right in front of him as nothing more then a Slave. "I honestly think im going to just take this one so don't hurt him to bad that will be my job of course" he said almost in a joking manner grabbing another handful of hair and pulling him close enough so only those two could hear each other "Were going to have such a fun time" he snarled tossing him back to the man. "Take him down there like you do the rest I get and return these other rejects" he directed to him. "Oh and of course once that's over with come to the front to discuss your payment" he said with another smile before walking away.

The slave trader smirked, taking hold of jonah by the scruff of his neck. 'Come on brat. Let's go down to the cellar shall we?' He sneered, walking the boy towards the small metal door in the wall to his left. He held the knife to the small of the boy's back, holding his shoulder roughly. 'Get moving kid.' He snapped, opening the door and shoving him roughly down the stairs into the darkness below. He then moved back to Jeff, eagerly awaiting the fee he was promised. 'There you go, one perfectly healthy and unharmed slave. That'll be the usual fee, plus delivery.' He said with a chuckle.

Jayson climbed down the stairs as Michahael was examining the sword. 'What are you doing?' His voice startled his brother and the teen dropped the weapon on the bench with a clatter. 'N-nothing..' He said hastily. Jayson raised an eyebrow, wiping his hands on a rag he had tucked into his belt. 'Sure you're not. Mick, what's up. you've been acting really weird the last few days. What's going on?' He asked, frowning and approaching his brother carefully. Michahael couldn't meet his gaze. 'Nothing is wrong.' jayson frowned deeper still, touching his shoulder. 'Mick.. What is it?' He pressured gently until the boy snapped. 'I LOST JONAH OKAY!? We were walking here and he was only like two steps behind me and then he was gone. Just like that. I got a description of the guys that took him from a kid who saw the whole thing like two minutes before.' Jayson frowned. 'Jonah? As in the prince? What the hell were you doing with the prince without an armed escort?' He exclaimed. Michahael looked at the ground. 'he said he wanted to come with me.. We were going to bring you a gift.. and he said he wanted to come.. but he didn't want an escort. He was in plain clothes, no one could tell who he was.. i failed.. i told him he shouldn't go because he's get taken.. and then i relented because he wanted so much to go..' He was shaking now, his hands trembling and his entire body a mass of nerves. 'Now he's gonna be hurt or something and It's all my fault.. I relented and its all MY fault.' He looked up now, his blue eyes determined as they bore into his brother's brown ones. 'I WILL get him back.'

Jayson squeezed his brother's shoulder tightly, picking up the sword again. 'You will. And I'll come with you.'

Jonah tried his best to catch his footing along the slippery steps of the cellar before having no choice but falling down the last few. With a groan he sat up doing a check to make sure he wasn't bleeding to find himself in a cellar with about 4 other boys all in roughly dressed clothing and horrible living conditions. "So its fresh meat isn't it" He heard a voice say from one of them which made him shudder as he searched around for an empty bed and found it at the end of the hall. It was just so dark in here and the light from he lite torches hanging on the walls loosely gave a minimum shine. He curled up on his bed unaware of what was to happen to him next, but all Jonah could think of was how worried everyone , especially Mich, would be when he wasn't found.

Jeff smiled at the man at his request. "Of course" the man answered him going into a drawer and opening a certain book he had picked out himself which contained a small opening for the exact change due for the usual delivery. "I must really thank you sir" he stated after the deal was finalized. "I mean you have just sold me he Prince of this entire Kingdom for such a low price it's hard to believe you have become as successful in what your doing today" he commented slyly waiting to enjoy the man's reaction.

The darkness cloaked a figure whisping hastely threw the trees. A long cloth coving the mysterious mans face, his eyes flickered with a hint of amusement. Hmm...they were pretty quick at snatching him up. Switching possitions the dark figure lept to the roof tops, rushing acrossed it with cat like grace. The soft tapps of his footsteps were quick and quiet patters, his cloak ripping to the right as his body jerked to jump again. Like a large panther prowling prey he raced towards the destination of the Vehicle, it haulting at a very expencive looking home. Narrowing his eyes he voice came from under his long scarf, musting aloud, "So it was you then..." A unseen smirk curled up on his lips as he swung his body down, snatching the seal of a window. Hanging there for a moment he waited for a passing car, letting go. His body landed on the top, the sound only a light thud. Crouching low he waited for the near by brantch of a tree to swing by before lunching himself off of the car and into the tree. Climbing high he scaled the trees hight, reaching the top to jump to another negboring tree. When his body landed he swung down the brantches until he was within veiw. His body appearing much larger due to the cloaks mass. Hunching down his arms rested on his knees and he waited for one of the borthers to turn, seeing him. He smirked then, his hand reaching up in a taunting manner, waving them on. They were worried about the boy and he knew just how to get their blood boiling and their adrenaline pumping. The slender boys eyes visabley widened and his grin grew, "Come on...thats right think its me you're after." His body then moved quickly, to make the boy surge forwards in a blind rage after him. If he got a distraction to confuse the gaurds and host then he'd be able to get Jonah out. Again he followed the path last travled, allowing the boy to follow after him from below. Peeking back over he chuckled, the boy was in a haze of fury as his brother was trying to keep up with the spunky young man. Shakign his head he laughed a bit, "Boys got spunk, I'll give him that. Hopefully though...he can use that blade hes flinging around..." He jumped with a large stride, landing at the top of the house and rolling. Then standing at the edge he taunted the angered boy again, trying to get him to brust in. Turning his back he slipped in an open window and closed it tight, indicating to them that they'd have to come in to get him. Standing in the dark room he crept towards the door, someone just passing by as he did. Flinging the door open he sntached the man and held him close to his body. He tightened his grip on his, his forearm tucking under the mans chin. The struggle was quiet and short lived as the man passed out from suffication. Looking back at the guy he chuckled, "Sorry 'bout that mate, you'll be feeling that in the mornin'." His head peeked out from the corner of the door, hearing the fight down stairs. Good, its started.

Michahael and Jayson were busy discussing how they were going to find Jonah when a strangly clad figure appeared. The way he stood and looked at them as if he were taunting them made Michahael wonder if he was the guy that kidnapped Jonah. If he wasn't, he might have had some information. The fact that he ran away made Michahael assume he was the kidnapper and so he chased after him, Jason moving with him, having some trouble keeping up. He'd never seen Michahael act like this before. He had NEVER been so worked up in his life. He followed him into the house, bargining into a group of people, two of them being the guys the kid had described.

'Hey you! WHERE THE HELL IS JONAH!' he snarled, raising the sword high abover his head to slash him down. The small battle that ensued was interesting, and brief, going long enough to provide a distraction for the guy they had followed. Jayson leapt into the fray with his brother and before long they had beat them down, two against four. A fair match considering the fact that Jayson had some training in fencing. He knew how to use his weapons. Michahael however ended up ditching the sword and just punched the men in the face, taking them by surprise. 'I'll ask you once again. WHERE IS HE?' He snarled, picking up the sword and pressing the tip against his throat. When everything was silent, he called out for the prince, even though he wouldn't be able to hear him.

'JONAH! JONAH WHERE ARE YOU??!'

Jonah was still curled up on his bed along with the other boys who were all in their respective corners. Jonah was having a hard time down there with absolutely nothing to do but let the water drop on you in singular drops. He heard what sounded like a commotion and peered up at the door wondering what was going on up there as he heard yelling which sounded oddly familiar" Mich" he said happily remembering a few seconds later as his eyes were now set on the stairs.

Elle had finished her pasta, Damien had watched her eat with a smile on her face

"wow... really wolfed that down, huh?" he went, chuckling.

he looked around then stood up

"well, thats lunch out of the way... what next?"

Slipping down the steps, he got past the fray, the two boys too occupied to notice him. Going down the steps to the basement he slowled down, his strides long due to his height. Peering down he veiwed the boys down in the cellar, his face consealed. Looking down at the Prince he spoke, towering over the boy, "Im going to take a wild guess that you and the rest of you boys are ready to get out of here?" His smirk was unseen but his eyes brightened up, giving the obvious hint that he was smiling. Stepping back with a wave of his hand he announced, "You're all free to go now."

Elle laughed and nodded "I was hungry, I didn't have breakfast this morning" she smiled and stood up "Hmm, well I showed you somthing important to me, howabout you show me somthing important to you, dont feel pressures. It's just a suggestion" She smield.

Jonah watched the man come downstairs in shock expecting Mich really but at this point in time he would be fine with anybody. He was a difficult person to read at first what with all the covering but his smile was obvious though the robes. The man seemed to stop right in front of him "This guy was towering and well built" he thought watching every action he made to get a hint of who he might be but to no avail. The prince watched as the boys thanked the man and ran up the stairs cheering to be able to return home. Jonah stood up and looked up at the man " Thanks for saving everyone sir but Who are you" was all he could ask with a curious tone dying to see his face.

Michahael heard Jonah's voice and spun around. 'JONAH!' He cried, running over and hugging him, unable to contain his relief. he had seriously thought for a while there that he was going to lose him forever. If he hadn't found him, well he had no idea what he would do. Or how he could live with the guilt. He didn't care that it was inappropriate for him to hug the prince in such a manner. He was just too relieved. It was all he could do to restrain his feelings enough to remember not to kiss him. 'Thank god you're alright.'

Looking down at Jonah he spoke in a cool dark tone, "Maybe some other time kid." His cloak whipped around him like a rope of chains, clinging to his frame. A back door was down there, locked but there. He slugged his foot into the door knocking it wide open, peeking over at the young boy, "See ya around." Then slipping into the deep he slunked out of the house and into a tunnel, one that led all the way down to the other side of town. With his head popping out he questioned, "Wonder what old Slave Dealers been up to with these tunnels...hmm maybe later I'll do a follow up on him." Jumping out he closed the secret tunnels behind him, remembering its placement just in case he'd ever need to go there again.

Damian raised an eyebrow "well i have many things precious to me, although if i showed you my MOST precious thing, i'd be arrested for indecent exposure"

he shot her a smile at the end of his joke

"hmm, seriously though.. i have three things i could show you... one is in the palace here, another is up higher in the tree, the last is in a secret place.. which one do you want to see?"

Jonah was about to question the man again when he realized another voice fast enough to realize it was Mich. "Mich" he said even as excited as him hugging him back as soon as he could. "Its okat Its okay im safe" he answered soothingly caressing the back of his head. "I heard this calmed down small children why would't it work now" he thought continuing the routine trying ro settle him down long enoug hto at least not burst into tears.

Michahael couldn't contain his relief. The prince was safe. He wasn't hurt. He was safe and in his arms. The words played over in his mind as he began to slowly calm down, feeling Jonah's strokes on the back of his head. Somehow they were approximately the same height, which either made Jonah tall or Mick short. His arms were wrapped tightly around Jonah's waist, not wanting to let him go. Jayson walked over, clearing his throat. 'Michahael, I think the prince would like to breathe sometime soon.' He said calmly, noting the two teens' reactions. Michahael hastily let go, going brilliant red. 'I.. uh.. let's go..' He said hesitantly. Jayson rolled his eyes. 'Perhaps you two could spend some recovery time back at the workshop?' He suggested. Michahael looked over at the prince. 'Whatever you wish to do..' He said, giving him a gentle look.

Jonah listened as Michh let go immeddialy at his brother's comment and to his questuion "Sure that sounds like a good idea and oh I remember" Jonah answeeered opening something in one of the robes to reveal a medium small box he kept with him the entire time "Its your gift" he said handing it to Jayson.

Michahael had forgotten all about the reason they'd been going into the town in the first place and so Jonah's actions reminded him of it. 'Oh yeah.. I forgot about that.' He said, flashing a smile at Jayson as his brother took the box. 'A gift? I don't understand.' Michahael looked fondly at Jonah. 'It was Jonah's idea.. I'll let him explain it.' He said with a gentle smile at the prince. 'While you explain, let's head home.' He suggested, almost wanting to take hold of his hand now.

'Sure going to the workshop for a little bit would be nice "he said smiling back at Mich and being the prince was able to read him like an open book. Jonah sighed happily and away from jayson offered his hand for Mich. "Well see I wanted to thank Mich for saving my step sister and well he thinks so fondly of you and all you do for his buisness so I deccided to get you something for it" He said opening he container to reveal it full of hundreds of Gold coins.

Michahael was surprised but took Jonah's hand willingly, not laxing his fingers with the prince's as he'd have liked too, but simply holding it in his own. If Jayson saw this, he did not mention it. It was the fact that he held such a large amount of money in his hands that surprised him. 'Your highness, this is too much. I can't accept such a gift.' He said firmly becore Michahael hit him playfully. 'Where's that sense of family honour brother? Be grateful for the funding.' He pointed out before beginning to walk to their house.
