Under the Shadow of The Old Oak Tree (Rp)

the exiles mumbled among themselves, more than once she heard the words "weak" and "cripple", that is, until Damien spoke.

"my friends, this is Elle... my Fiance"

there was a lot more murmuring now, and a lot of supprise, one of the female hunters even called out "why marry a cripple!? why not a capeable hunter?" another spoke "like you Elissa?" "sure!"

Damien sighed "Elle is no cripple... she is the victim of an assassination attempt on her life, a trained assassin... he has since been captured, but not before wounding Elle greatly in the attempt on her life, but as you can see, she has the strength of will to stand before you now, even with her tendons damaged and it causing her great pain..." the chattering continued, Damien looked to Elle "you can sit down now, if you want..." an elder approached them, bowing to Damien and Elle "Master Damien... as always, we are at your disposal, we still remember that were it not for you, we would all just be small camps groups, with no safety or organization, you're will is-" "no need, i was just showing Elle around" "as you wish"

he looked to Elle and smiled "okay, looks like they're ok with us"

Elle heard the whisperes and rolled her eyes of course, inside it hurt a little but she knew letting it show would not help her case so she held her head high and said "I teach up at the castle, the kids, but you probably dont care. I can fight, and i better still be able to when my back gets better, in a week or so." she shrugged and ignored the pain smiling at damien "My job is to makr sure they can at least deffend themselves" she giggled remembering how they got her to wear a dress and attepted to get her to wear make up "but they know more than that."

Jonah had a confused and astonished look on his face hearing the words " I came on too him". I can't have it doesn't sound like me at all unless. . ." he thought when he was trying to think of a reason. Jonah was blushing intensely as Mich stroking his hair back and even going as far as to kiss him on his forehead "I'm not a child" he snapped quietly tired of all of this. "This is humiliating for a prince to be like this and to slightly enjoy this" he said becoming a bit ticked and degraded at the treatment "Father would be so disappointed with me and Damieon would probably feel the same" he thought just as he felt his chin being cupped and Mich say a few words before kissing him on the lips. Jonah had a wide eyed expression plastered on his face as he tried to put his arms between them to break it up but Mich didn't want to let him go and his headache was still too bad to fight back. "Just stop it already Idiot just stop enjoying this at all he's obviously forcing you into it" his subconscious told him soundly as Jonah was still trying to push away weakly looking at the door hoping for Jayson to come.

Realising that Jonah was trying to fight him off, Michahael moved back, releasing his hold on him, feeling slightly down trodden. He looked furious, which only made him more attractive in Mick's mind. Still, if he didn't want to be in that situation, he wouldn't force him to be. 'Jonah..' He began, frowning as he shuffled back slightly. 'I..' He looked away, sighing. 'i'm sorry... I just thought.. that after last night.. when you said what you did..' He couldn't figure out how to word it as he looked up and saw the blank expression on the prince's face. His heart sunk. 'You.. You don't remember.. do you?' He asked, already knowing the answer. He moved further away, standing up and walking to his desk, pushing his hands down onto the surface and leaning as if he were in pain. 'I... I'll escort you back to the castle.' he said in a laboured voice, not at all sounding like himself, but more like a stranger that had been shamed.

Jonah didn't have the slightest idea on what Mich was talking about. "I don't know what you mean by that I have no idea what happened yesterday and you really just can't come out to a person twice by kissing them against their will" he replied getting out of the bed and using the nearby table as support. "Actually I think I would prefer if Jayson took me to the castle it would give me time to clear my head" he said sighing hating to see Mich like this. "You're still welcome into the castle as much as you want just make sure Sebastian knows first he commented as the pain nulled down enough for him to walk. " I guess i'll see you later then" he commented walking out of the room to find Jayson.

Michahael stared forlornly after the boy, cursing mentally. He then swore aloud as he closed the door behind the prince, leaning against the wood with irritation. 'Screw it.. you're never going to succeed. He hates you. Good one idiot.' He snapped at himself, slamming his forehead violently against the door repeatedly. 'Feck feck feck feck feck... You goddamned idiot..' He sank to his knees, his hands shaking as his slipped a hand into his pocket, pulling out his wallet. He searched the folds carefully, pulling out a small razor. He knew he shouldn't do it.. but he needed the relief.. he needed to stop the rising pressure somehow...

~

Jayson very nearly bumped into the prince as Jonahwas coming down and he was going up. He held two glasses and a bottle of water in his hand. 'Ah your highness, I was just coming to find you and Mick. Is he coming down as well?' He asked, scanning the landing for any sign of his brother. He heard the muffled swearwords and frowned. Perhaps he should see if he was okay? But if he did that Michahael would get angry at him again. 'Have you contacted your parents to tell them what happened? Do you need an escort to the castle or something?'

Jonah sighed hearing the muffled words coming from the door before looking a Jayson. "I could really use an escort home the last thing I really need is people seeing me like this" he commented smiling before reaching up to his head again. "And maybe just some advice from Mich would be helpful on the way" he added quietly before stepping down and finding the same clothes which covered his body and shielded his face from the sun. Jonah was happy to see the remodeling was already starting and turned to Jayson again "Could we leave now I think Mich wants o be by himself for a while" he said looking at the door.

Frowning still Jayson slowly headed back down the stairs, setting the items he was carrying on the table and beginning to lead the way out of the house. 'Of course.. I hope everything is alright between you two. I've never seen michahael react so strongly to a situation like he has recently. I was worried that he'd been involved in something illegal the way he was acting.' He flashed a slightly curious smile at the prince. 'But now I see he was simply spending time with our noble lord.' His tone was kind and gentle, with a hint of a teasing tone that would normally go by unnoticed. He meant no disrespect by it of course. 'So what is it you wish to know about my brother?' he asked, trying to make conversation as they walked.

Jonah sighed hearing Jaysons comments before actually Replying "Is Mich you know Gay or just into Boys" he asked him considering whether or not to confess what happened in the morning but sighed. "He tried to make a move on me this morning while I still had a headache and then told me I came on to him or something last night" he finally said. "But If I had done something like that I'm sure I would remember" he added quickly. "I mean Mich is a friend I don't want to lose but I wonder if he knows boundaries he finished waiting for jayson.

Jayson was a little surprised by Jonah's words, but he took the news fairly well. 'I'm not sure whether this is something you should have discussed with me. Don't you think it would make more sense to ask him these questions? He's my brother but I know nothing of his private life. He won't let me in. He hasn't for a long time. In truth, until i saw you two today I had no idea.' He told him, a frown settling on his features. 'Michahael hasn't allowed himself to get close to anyone, for fear of being hurt. That and i don't think he ever felt a connection strong enough to be with someone. If he has found it with you, i doubt he knows many boundaries at all. And if he is right about you making a move, well that would be incentive for him to act.' He shrugged, sighing and looking up into the higher branches of the tree. 'If you want my honest oppinion, i don't think you should be discussing this with me. You should find the time to talk to him about it.'

The scorching blast of the suns light ripped through the thin protection of the curtains within Tamotsus bed room. He growled low with a displeased grumble as he yanked the covers over his head. Though it was not much help it did however help with the throbbing pain pounding in his head. Groaning aloud he muttered, "What time is it...? Nnnn...god I feel like shit..." His large hand cupped his forhead as he forced himself to get on his knees, face down in the cushion of the mattress. "Ughhhh...just let me die already....", he cursed as his head beated to the rhythm of his heart. Last night was terrible though wasn't the worst hes been through.

He worked while the family was under some sort of tension, which in turn distarcted him cause of Isis and her mothers screaming. It was quite obvious the two smacked skulls but he figured him being there would make them not want to have out brusts like such in front of him. He was wrong and had served them food with a glum look of uncomfortableness. The father however seemed to be able to smile through the whole thing. The man must have been used to it by now, lucky for him. Tomatsu however was speachless and had walked out quietly after he was paid, the father apologising for the out brust. It seemed that the family had gotten used to his presence already, otherwise he didn't think they'd behave that way in front of him. As uncomfortable it was he had to take it in as a slight complement.

After that Cash, Koga and Reph came to his home and nearly dragged him out but his hair due to buissness. He didn't get home until 5 am which only blessed him with 3 hours of rest. Tomatsu wasn't ready to face the day. Today was important and he wasn't really awake enough for the event. A amusement park opened and they wanted music to be played while guests enjoyed the fair. Seeing that they had missed their chance to preform at the wedding due to an assassination attempt they had to pospone their preformance for a later date.

Even though they had, had alot of time to practice Tomatsu couldn't shake the nerves. He glanced out the window and remembered why he was doing it. To show his brother that they were more then just thugs, that there was a better life for them then this. With a soft breath he sat up, his legs hanging over the edge of the bed. His voice rolled out in the still air as he musted, "Well...I guess its time to man up. Bitchin' 'bout it ain't gettin' me no where." With a gruff look on his face he got up and went to the closet to pick out some clothing for the day. He hoped he wouldn't have to raid Cashes wardrobe again. A sigh left him as he scratched the back of his head, "Guess Isis was right...I got nothin' but crap to wear." He hated that the woman was right about most things. She was just too smart for her own good. But, her intelligence was something he admired. She was bold and strong willed. A fiesty young woman that even he couldn't scare. The thought of it made his lips curl in a smirk, chuckling to himself, "Girls got spunk thats for sure." Snorting he snatched up some simple wear before he headed out. He'd just have to buy something for the consert.

Stepping down the stairs he got down into the kitchen and placed his massive hand on his mothers shoulder gentely. Her wrinckled face push up in a kind and soft smile as she spoke, "Do your best today Toma." His built arm curled around her fragile frame as his chin rested atop her head saying, "I will do my best Okaasan. Arigatou gozaimasu."

With that he pulled away from her smiling, turning on his heel and leaving. The sun greeted him with its blinding light, once again aggitating his head. Squinting his eyes he glared at it with a rough expression on his face, heading out into the busy street. Looking over his shoulder he glanced back and forth before joining the busy rush of people passing by. It was going to be a long day, he already could feel it. His right hand clutched the side of his neck, flicking his head until a crack issued forth. The kink in his neck already start before the day even got rough. Dryly saying in an unamused tone, "God I hope Cash is in a mute mood today." His form turned the corner and headed for the richer district.

(well seeing how Wingal decided to be mean and leave me hanging, i'll post anyways)

Jayson walked back home in thought, mulling over what the young prince had said. He clearly hadn't been very impressed with his responses, but that wasn't Jay's fault. He had given an honest oppinion. It wasn't his fault that his brother never communicated. Perhaps it was time that he had a little talk with him. He wondered if the boy was still around. More than likely. He hardly left his room on a good day. And it sounded like today had sucked pretty hard for him, so it was more than likely he had shut himself up in his room again, more than likely with the curtains drawn tightly and some band singing about how dark and twisted their lives were. The boy listened to a lot of that kind of stuff. He walked through the front of the workshop, checking some of his current projects before continuing to the house. He climbed the stairs, knocking on Michahael's door, surprised to find that the normal music wasn't blaring through the wood. 'Mick? You in here?' He got no response but slowly pushed the door open, shining light into the room. Still he couldn't see very well and so he switched on the light. The sight that stood before him was a horrific one indeed. A pool of deep crimson stained the carpet, and in the middle lay Michahael, paler than death, not moving. His chest was barely rising as faint breaths struggled to fill his lungs. His arms were covered in the scarlot liquid, as deep wounds were dragged down his skin, thick and deadly. Jayson's eyes widened in horror as he rushed ino the room, scooping his brother up into his arms, tearing strips off the bedsheet to staunch the last of the bleeding. He had no idea how long the boy had been lying there, but he wouldn't let him die. 'MICK! Hold on Mick, I'm going to get you out of here, you're not dying on me.' He said firmly, lifting his brother with slight difficulty. If it werent for his constant work, he wouldn't have had the strength to lift him at all.

Bursting through the doors of the ER he shouted for assistance. 'SOMEBODY HELP ME!' He cried, struggling to carry the seventeen year old for much longer. He spotted an empty wheelchair and lowered him into it, running to the desk and banging on the small bell heavily. 'WHERE F*CK IS EVERYONE!?' He shouted, looking around as an orderly came out of the back room, fixing him with a stern look. 'Sir, please calm down, if you can't control yourself i'll have you removed.' Jayson grabbed him by the collar and pulled him roughly to lean across the desk. He pointed at Michahael, unconscious in the wheelchair. 'You look at my brother and THEN tell me to calm down. GET ME A GODDAMNED DOCTOR RIGHT NOW!' He roared.

A soft knock on the door woke Isis from her slumber. She looked up from her pillows as the door opened and her father walked in, a stern look on his face. 'Mind if I have a word?' He asked as she slowly sat up, pushing her hair out of her eyes and flattening the covers over her lap. 'Sure, come on in.' She said with a soft smile. She loved her father, like she loved all her family. But he had earnt more respect in her eyes, more than her mother had certainly. 'What's up dad?' She asked as he sat on the edge of her bed. He looked at her gently, taking hold of her hand. 'I know things have been difficult for you lately, since your brother's exile we've all been under a lot of stress. But you need to lay off your mother a bit. As much as you're convinced she doesn't care, she does. We both love and miss your brother dearly.' She opened her mouth to retort but he silenced her with a stern look and she closed her mouth. 'If you and your mother are always fighting, there won't be a family for him to come back to will there? He'll come home to find three people who can bearly speak to each other civilly. Do you want that to happen?' Isis sighed, looking down at her hands in shame, shaking her head. Her father leant over, kissing the top of her head as he put an arm around her. 'You're a wonderful young woman Isis, but you have much to learn. Promise you'll go easier on your mother for me?' He asked, looking at her sternly. She nodded, biting her lip. 'Yes father..' She agreed. He chuckled and ruffled her hair slightly. 'Cheer up Isis, it's not the end of the world.' He said before leaving, closing the door behind him. She sat in bed for a while before deciding to get dressed. She had to work today, she realised with a jolt. She'd been so caught up in everything else that she'd forgotten that fact. Rushing to get ready she nearly forgot to say goodbye to her father as she ran out of the door, hair flying and skirts swirling at her feet.

She had only gone a few metres when she ran right into a wall of muscle, her head hitting the solid chest painfully and she stumbled backwards slightly. 'Oh my god i'm so sorry!' She exclaimed, looking up to see who she had run into and blushing deeply when she saw it was Tomatsu. 'Oh.. Toma.. I'm sorry.. I didn't see you..' She stammered, shifting the bag on her shoulder as she looked up at him. She remembered that he had seen the argument with her mother the night before and was instantly ashamed of herself. 'Hey.. about last night.. i'm really sorry.. I shouldn't have acted like i did.. I'm sorry you had to see the argument.. my mother and I.. we don't really get along much anymore..' She began, struggling to find the right words, her gaze back on the ground again. She bit her lip, waiting for a response from him.

Stepping out of the strange elevator, Gerard Rockwell found himself almost blinded by the light difference. After so long at the base of the tree, being closer to 'the surface' was enough to make him wish he had a pair of extra dark sunglasses with him. Of course, he didn't have all that much with him. A small sidebag full of things he had accumulated over the time, and the clothes on his back were all he possessed. Everything else had been left in his family home. He looked over to the woman beside him, a beautiful woman with long dark hair and a slender, muscular yet surprisingly curvacious frame that drew attention. She clearly knew what she had to show, just by judging from the tight clothing she showcased, the leather garments of the root dwellers covering all necessary body parts and little else, leaving her abdomen bare, while the leather pants hugged her hips.

'So this is the surface? It's damn bright up here.' She commented, shielding her eyes. 'So where to Flower Boy?' She asked, teasing him slightly. He elbowed her gently. 'Can you stop that please? We're among the people that judge us now.' He said simply and she rolled her eyes. 'Remind me why you wanted to come back here?' Gerard chuckled. 'Because my family need me. And I miss them. Besides, you wanted to see what it was like up here too.' He reminded her as she rolled her eyes again. 'Yeah, well that's beside the point.' She responded easily, while he laughed. 'Come on, we're going to the upper class society now.' He joked, grabbing her hand and leading her towards the main part of society.

Delilah smiled warmly at her daughter and Rhythm glad to see cupcake smiling for once. She heard a raised voice and a calm tone, then the same angry tone, she couldn't make out what they were saying, it was probably just a drunk in here complaining, they did get that a lot. She stood and kissed Hallie on the forehead and said "I'll be back" but the toddler clung to her arm and said "Mummy! i come pwease?!" Delilah didn't want her hurt but agree'd, picking her daughter up and placing her on her hip. Lilah walked out of the room, and as turning the corner where the voices seemed to be something from, she said "Excuse me, What is going on?" as she turned the corner her hand flew up to her daughters eyes and covered them, they horrible sight before her was one she didn't wish her daughter to see. Delilah realized the situation, the man in front of her, seemed to be angry and worried and the nurse not concerned at all "Why the f****** hell isn't he in surgery?" She passed her daughter to the nurse, whom took her into the play room. She waved her hand and two wardens were at her side, a bed being wheeled out of the room and she said to Jayson "Come on, We need information" they placed Mick on the bed and started rushing him to surgery "What blood type is he?" She asked Jay "And what is your relation?" she added as they ran to her surgery room where medics were rushing around preparing for her to save the young man.

Jayson didn't leave his brother's side as they rushed him through to the operating room. 'AB negative. He's my brother.' He said, a concerned expression on his face. Blood had already seeped through the thin strips of material that he had tried to bandage his brother's arms with. He couldn't bare the thought of losing his brother. They'd lost so much already, to have to lose him too would be a blow that he didn't know he could handle. He clenched his fists tightly, determination in his eyes. 'Don't you die on me Mick. Don't you f*cking dare.' He snapped at his brother's limp form, glaring furiously at the teen. He looked back to Delilah, frowning still. 'I want to stay for the surgery.' He said determinedly. 'I want him to know I was there the whole time, I want to know he'll be okay so that I can slap him up the side of the head for doing such a stupid thing.' He spoke firmly, tears in his eyes.

The nurses rushed to get her blood a monute later, he was all hooked up to the machines and Lilah was giving him a transfusiln, telling jay what sh was doing to keep him calmer, so he had somthing to focus on apart from the negitive. She finished nd cleaned micks woulnds, after stopping the blood flow and bandaged his wounds, happy to see mick was slowly returning to the norm. she had him moved to a room and jay with him.

Jayson sat with Mick in his room, watching the heart monitor steadily count out his beats. 'You'd better wake up tomorrow and be prepared for me beating on your arse.' He told his brother firmly, hands clasped as he rested his elbows on his knees, pressing his forehead to his clasped hands. 'What the hell were you thinking?' He demanded to know of his unconscious brother. Delilah had said he would be okay once he was stabilized, but the concern was still there. What if the loss of blood was too great? What if his brother didn't wake up? What would he do then? He lowered his hands to lean forward in the chair. 'I'm being serious. you wake up or i swear to god I'll kill you myself.'

Delilah hung up her coat and sighed, another end to a stressful work day. As their usual afternoons Lilah took Hallie out for ice cream and then they wandered she stores. First to book store then the music store Delilah really loved this place and came here to get a CD almost every weekend. She scanned the Isles, Hallie walking behind and her. Lilah loved music for one reason. There was music for everything, every moment and situation, it drowned all the problems and hardships. It could make you laugh or cry and all those emotions were true to someone, somewhere. It made her feel like she wasn't alone. Music and Hallie were her two grate loves, aside from helping people She smiled as she came across a rock band CD she didn't quite have yet. She loved slow and fast music, most things exept classical, she hated that.

Noah glanced at the clock and sighed as his mother fussed over his hair he struggled out of her grip and fixed his hair, straightening out his clothes and saying "bye mum" he.said leaving the hourlse he was wearing saw Judith already there. He snuck up behind her and hugged a tshirt and shorts, he made his way to the royal gardens and saw judith waiting. He smiled and snuck up behing her and hugged her.around the middle and spinning her in a cicle. "Hey beautiful" he smiled and kissed her.cheek "ready?" he asked

"For what?" Judith asked as Noah put her down from their little spin, she was glad that he was on time well kind of anyway. "Do you greet everyone you meet with a kiss or just girls?" She asked cause honestly she did't really know this guy and it'd be nice to get back into social life, that was the main reason she was here, wasn't it?

Noah pulled a flyer from his pocket and showed her "They amusement park is opening today, i figured you might want to go . . . " He flashed her a cheeky grin and pulled on her handd gently "Only you, actually . . . " he said looking of into the distance before shaking his head and grinning at her again.

"Sounds interesting enough" Judith said to Noah as he showed her the flyer, she didn't know how it was interesting, but with Noah everything seemed interesting, She put her arms around his neck and smiled again, "only me" she said suspiciously, "since when?" She asked because she really wasn't sure when he decided to kiss only her, they'd only know each other for a day and she was really questioning herself why she was in his kind of relationship, and really she wasn't sure about anything today. She desperately wished she could talk to someone she really knew and maybe fix most of her problems, but she couldn't, she was different from the Judith people had once knew but not. "you know, strangely I feel a different kind of comfort around you" she said to Noah not meaning to, and she did but he wasn't suppose to know that,

Trying to pretend that she didn't say anything she quickly added "let's go, show we the way" and held her breath hopping he didn't hear her last statement.

Noah shrugged "most girls didnt like it." he took her hand and said "dont be to jittery, my lovely" noah listened.to her and smilef "Aww" that was alk he said and continiued leading the way.

"My love?" Judith asked a Noah lead her the way, after a while they had gotten to the amusement park and she was pretty amazed by what she saw. She saw one of the rides and it looked pretty high. She wasn't really scared of heights, but she wasn't sure about Noah though, but if he was well to bad, she looked at him "let's go on that one" she said pointing to the ride with a smirk on her face.

"Ly" he added and smiled as she picked the Ride, "Sure, princess" He started to walk towards the ride with her. He heard an extremely high sounding voice say, from behind him "Be one with the Tree man" and a kids voice say "Shut up, you hippie!" Next moment he was covered in water, salt by the smell, he leg go of Judith and gave a glare to the kid, who ran off laughing. He peeled his shirt of his body, it felt gross with it sticking to him like that. While he was doing so, he heard an growl and he hurried to see where it was coming from, but he was to late, a guard dog had lunged at Judith's leg. He didn't utter a word, he just grabbed her from behind and puled her away slightly. The bite was quite bad, with flesh and skin torn, blood rushing out, he reached for his short but realized that salt water wouldn't do much good and said to the girl "Take of your shirt, quick"
