Rowan looked to him and then nodded. "Okay. I'll see you soon then." She says with a smile as she returned her attention to the file.

Kyle* smirked at her before he waved his hand, and she vanished into the file.

It was a boring day, Eric was in a classroom, his chair was against a chair with Brandon behind him. He looked and watched as the teacher walked around them, with the same expression of boredom as Brandon had, watching the teacher without turning their heads. "This is a basic skill. The test you took as children brought you to this position but in time of war, it is only at this age would you be of any real use. Although you know that everyone here is from different job understandings, there are a lot of thinks you wouldn't know about what different jobs are similar. Eric, please state your position."

Eric sighed, "I am a Master, specializing in combat and magic." he rolled his eyes.

"Good, Brandon."

"I'm a Law." Brandon stated, "But we both know what Eric and I have in common." he smirked, he reached his hands out and his fingers twist and turned like he was doing sign language before Eric chuckled and Brandon brought his hands back to his side.

The teacher sighed as he looked between them, "It isn't proper to use counter spells that way." Both boys just smirked at the teacher in a knowing smile.

Rowan was surprised at first as she was sucked in but then she smiled as she looked around a brief moment before her gaze landed on the scene. She smiled some again as she watched. They were just two boys, other than the amazing power she knew they had, they seemed relatively normal.

Brandon sighed, looking at the teacher, 'Can we go yet?"

"No, I am in the middle of preparing you for the battle exam." the teacher protested.

"But we are ready." Eric protested as he stood up and looked at the teacher, "I am a combat master, I am supposed to teach this stuff."

Rowan stifled a giggle by covering her mouth as she watched. There was a way he said it that reminded her a little of Emery and she could see how he may have been more like his brother if the man hadn't been killed...or rather taken away.

The teacher puffed and Brandon smirked, "I am Law and I kind of know this stuff to." he said standing up and Eric and he shared a glance before walking out.

Rowan smiled some and then looked around. She moved to start to follow them, unsure if the scene would change, or how this would work. The longer she was here the more curious she became about Eric. She also was starting to wonder if there was a file on her father.

Eric was hanging from a pole, while Brandon was beside his head, laying down with his knees up and his eyes closed. Eric sighed opening his eyes before looking down at Brandon with a smirk, "So, what do you think so far?"

"I think she is going to kill you." Brandon stated.

eric chuckled, "Maybe, but I will make it up to her."

Brandon opened his eyes, "Leading a mission on her birthday and not including her, Hayden is going to skin you alive."

Eric shrugged "Probably but better her then anyone else. Besides, I would love for the last thing I saw to be my dearest love." he teased. Brandon just chuckled as he shook his head.

Rowan smiled as she watched them. Best friends talking and about Eric's love no less. She could only smile more. It was sweet to listen to and interesting too.

Eric brought his knee out, before his foot kicked him off the pole, he flipped to the ground at Brandon's feet and reached his hand out to him, "Well, it's good that she can kill her own friends, then, huh?"

Brandon smirked, "I don't know, I think she might just wait for my return before smashing my head in for allowing you to do this."

"I promise to make sure your head is too banged up to be smashed." he teased.

Brandon laughed, "i will make sure yours isn't."

Rowan smiled broadly as she watched them. She hoped more than anything they could get Eric back, for everyone who cared for him. She wanted to find a way if no one else could. She followed them as they moved, listening to them.

Brandon sighed as he got up and looked at Eric, before the door slammed open, "How dare you?" she snapped, as Hayden came in going straight for Eric. Eric sighed as he looked at her, knowing what she meant before Brandon stepped back as Hayden got in Eric's face. "How are you going to pull me from the mission because I am your fiance, that isn't even a reason."

"I already have a medic." he protested calmly.

"Bull shit, this is some male caveman crap. I am not just a medic and you know it. I can hold my own against you and Brandon so I don't know where you get off to hold me back."

"I'm not holding you back...."

"Of course you are, not allowing me on this mission."

Rowan tilted her head a little. She couldn't picture Hayden mad but she knew everyone was capable of it. She watched, wondering suddenly if this was the mission where they lost Eric. Though she couldn't fully remember if it had been a mission or something else.

Brandon just smiled amused as he crossed his arms and watched. Eric sighed, placing his hands on Hayden's arms. "But I'm not. It's your birthday, probably not the best time for you to be in a life and death mission."

She sighed deeply frustrated, "I shouldn't spend it without you either." She growled "You promised."

Eric smirked, kissing her forehead as she glared at him, "I know, but Hector wants this done and it'll be easy." He sighed, "I might even make is back for your birthday anyways."

Hayden hit him and Eric chuckled, it hurt and he showed it as he nursed the spot, "That doesn't make you not a liar."

Eric smiled, "Okay, okay. I lied, but that doesn't mean I am not going to make it on time." He sighed and wrapped his arms around her , "It just means when I marry you, I have a lot of work to make up for that one day."

Rowan smiled as she watched, they seemed so in love and it made her so happy. Even if she barely knew either of them, seeing how much they cared for eachother was wonderful.

Hayden pouted and then sighed, "Fine. But you better get back." she warned him.

I promise." he said as he kissed her lips, "i will be back to you before you know it."

Rowan tilted her head a little as they spoke and then moved to follow again. She was still curious of course but mostly wondering if this was the mission he was lost in. If she remembered right Emery had been part of that too.

It was night when Eric snuck into Hayden's room, he sighed as he sat beside her and brushed his fingers along her forehead to get her hair out of her face. She stirred a little before waking up taking a deep breath, "Eric." she smiled.

"Told you I would be back. I will always come back to you." he promised, leaning over her and kissing her forehead, "I would never like to upset you."

Hayden grinned at him, "Well, it is always good when you get to prove it to me."

Eric chuckled softly before going to his pocket and taking out a shinning stone, "It's not much, but Hector let me keep it. I figured I could use it for a ring, but I just got back." he smiled, "Happy birthday, Hayden."

Hayden sat up and looked at the rock before she took it, "I love it. I think it would be a perfect ring, for us both." she told him, "I think it is going to make us the ideal husband and wife." she said happily, kissing his lips, "i love it."

Eric smirked, "I am going to let you sleep."

"Can I sleep with it?" she asked him.

Eric nodded, "Of course you can. I'll get it from you afterwards and take it to get crafted." he told her, kissing her forehead before he got up to leave. "Good night, my love."

"Good night, my life." she said softly as she watched him go.

Rowan was relieved to see him come back in time to Hayden and even felt a deep sadness. That was taken from them so unfairly and yet, maybe there was a chance to get it back.

The image was dark as Eric and a few others were fighting and so was Emery. Emery was in a little of a panic, before Eric called to him, "Emy, catch." he told him as he tossed him one of his blades.

Emery froze as he looked at it, feeling the power in it, "This is a...."

"Emery." Eric called in warning before he killed the two that were around him, he moved to Emery as another was behind him, about to strick. Emery jumped at his name before turning as he felt the enemy. He froze as Eric stood with his back to him, the blade in his hand going through him and Eric froze. He let out a breath as the enemy started to run. Eric took what little he had, his hands and fingers moved before they separated in a slash, ripping the creature apart before Eric fall, bleeding from the wound. He looked down before his hands dropped to his side, Emery still frozen behind him, holding the blade. Eric's hand started to make symbols before he fall back, Emery jumping to catch him as Eric died. Eric's spirit vanished.

Eric appeared in front of Hector, Hector looked up at him, "Eric?"

"You have to pull them out now." Eric pleaded. "It's a failure."

Hector jumped up and started through Eric and out the door, passing Kyle* as a child, Eric followed and he looked at Kyle* as Kyle* looked at him, it was confusing for Eric but he kept following Hector.

Rowan frowned as she watched, she was confused and yet it was hard for her to watch. It was a hard time for all of them.

Hayden and Brandon came when they heard that Eric's team was coming back and the first thing they saw was Emery in Eric's blood and then the body. Eric frowned as he watched Hayden crying, she was tried to cover the screaming tears, by covering her mouth but it couldn't stop the horror in her tears. Brandon was frozen with disbelieve as he looked at his best friend's body and his brother froze in grief. Brandon took a deep breath as he teared up. Hector glanced at Eric's soul before he sighed, motioning his body to be sent off.

Eric followed Hector back to his office, but he wasn't the only one, Brandon came in just moments after Hector did, "If this is a request for a vengeance......" he stopped at the slamming of Brandon's weapon.

"I am going East." Brandon said and Hector looked as confused as Eric. Brandon lowered his head, "I could have helped but I let Emery go in my place. I made the wrong call and now Eric is gone. I don't want to be in this war, I am only going to make another call like this and next time it could be someone else just as important." he looked at Hector, "I refuse to use my blade again." he stated.

Hector sighed, "Your clan has had this Shadow Blade for generations, it is your birth right."

"A right should never be allowed to a child. I am going with my fiance and I am going to be a Law, like I was placed. I can't do this." he said before he turned and left without a word.

Hector sighed but Eric spoke, "He can't do that." he protested, "Brandon is the best fighter, he is far better then I could ever be, you need him."

Hector looked at him and sighed, "the spell only works for one person to see you, I'm afraid there is nothing I can do. Only you could keep him here and it's because of you that he won't stay."

Rowan frowned as she watched, though more things made sense now that she was seeing it. She made a note to ask Kyle* about the soul thing.

Hector was walking down the hall when he sighed, Eric looked at the room that had all the animals, Sanctuary was quiet, "Please, Hector, help him."

Hector glanced at Eric and nodded, "I'll do my best. You shoudl check on Hayden."

Eric nodded, "I'll be back." he said before he vanished.

Rowan found herself following, somehow, to where Eric went. It was curious, how this worked. And she was curious about how on earth Eric was back with them now.
