Helena smirked, looking back at him, "I imagine the idea was a little startling this time." she teased, but then sighed, "But it still isn't a fair idea."

Eric sighed as he looked up from his book and smirked at Rowan, "Have fun with Sarah? Was she any help?"

Nicoli smiled a little. "I told him I would. I think I would in a heart beat if you would have me Helena." He said.

Rowan smirked a little and sat on the edge of the bed, looking to him. "Yeah, she was a lot of help actually. I talked to Helena and my dad too. They won't complete the betrothal process. And to make things worse, Helena could lose her Dier side because of the Shadow Transfer she did to save my life. Anthony has a way to fix it, but I have to know how to do Shadow Transfer myself." She said.

Helena sighed with a smile, "I would. I would love to. But there is a lot of different strings and we have to pull them all before that is a chance." she stated, "Because I know you wouldn't, if she were here. I know you wouldn't be here, if she was and that is why, I say no."

Eric looked seriously at Rowan, "What?" he said, "I stay put for a few hours and so much happens." he sighed. "You have to do the Shadow Transfer though. A Dier that goes back to being just another Shadow could lose half their life. Dier is a life choice, and they never spiritually lose their connection to the animals, they could get lonely and die even sooner."

Nicoli sighed and rested his forehead on her shoulder. “She’s not here though Helena. And I know there is no way for me to say this to make it right, but I would choose you. I know I hurt you and I will do everything I can to make it up to you. And I do love you...even...gods I was surprised by Rowan’s comment I’m not going to lie but she wants it too Helena.” He said quietly.

Rowan nodded. “I know...I mean I didn’t know that specifically, but I know it’s important. She won’t allow me to do it though until I finish at least one of my tasks and I don’t even know how. She’s afraid I’m not powerful enough but if it’s the last thing I do I can’t let her lose that part of herself.” She said with a sigh.

Helena sighted, "Yet. You both think I can't do this, but I can perfect the spell and bring her back." she smirked, "I would have loved to complete it, but like I said, it's not fair to her or you."

Eric looked at Rowan, then smirked, "Well, she's right." he said jumping off the bed, "You aren't powerful enough to do the Shadow Transfer for a Dier. Probably not yet to do it for a Shadow either, but you can be." he said, "The sight is a power in itself. If you can channel that while still doing the Shadow Transfer, you just might be able to get at the Dier blood inside you, from Helena and not just survive but you might even get to understand what a Dier is."

"If it doesn't work will you reconsider being my betrothed?" He asked. "I just want you to think about it at least okay? Besides you heard the girl, only one more try." He said with a smirk as he looked back to her.

Rowan looked to him curiously, incredibly fascinated. "And do you know how to do that? Or where I could start so I can learn? I want to learn it as fast as I can but I want to learn it well. It's the least I can do for her." She said.

Helena smirked, "Parents lie to their children all the time in the human world. I am sure that one more time could mean many things." she teased before she sighed, "I will get it right at the north tower, there is a Science there I worked with, he could help me."

Eric looked at her, then smirked, "Well, you can't practice yet, but you can read on it. If you find a Wise, in the library, I am sure they could help you. As children we never got to read on it first, but if you read on it, you should get the general concept and manage to know if you are doing it right when you practice. Plus, we can practice Shadow Transfer."

Nicoli looked to her, concerned. "Are you sure it's a good idea to bring someone else into our illegal doings?" He asked her gently.

Rowan nodded and smirked. "I'll do what research I can in the library. How do you practice it anyway. when you say 'we can practice' do you mean you and me? Because i would really like to know how to do this." She said with a grin.

Helena smirked at him, "He won't know what he is helping with." she assured him, "I only need help with a few things and they are things that could actually go to other theories so I am sure that the help will be good and he wouldn't know."

Eric smirked, "When we were small, we practice on each other and animals. We will just Shadow Transfer between each other and then we will know when you are ready. Trust me, I won't let you go through this alone."

Nicoli sighed but then gave her a smile. “Please be careful Helena. I do t want something to happen if I’m not there.” He said.

Rowan gave him a smile and nodded. “Thank you Eric. Being able to practice will I think help me to learn quicker. It will be a trick to learn about my magic fully for it to work but I think I can learn quickly with you helping me.” She said.

Helena smirked "I know you don't and I will. After all, if I end up in trouble, you have a habit of saving me, so I wouldn't be worried." she teased.

Eric smirked, nodding, "That would be the goal and I will be more then happy to make sure that is what happens."

Nicoli smirked. “Just remember I’m supposed to be grounded. And we both know I enjoy following g the rules.” He teased. “Come, you should try to get back to sleep.” He said gently.

Rowan smiled brightly and fought not to hug him, as much as she wanted to. “Should we continue to meet here for that?” She asked. She knew they couldn’t start that night, but she was eager to begin.

Helena sighed, and then smiled, nodding, "Okay. But promise me you will follow this one rule. It'll be a little hard to explain everything if you are on punishment, to her, and I think we would just scare her."

Eric smirked, "Probably not. But I can meet you in a different place.' he pointed out, "I'll show you another time though. As your older brother, it is time for bed and if you don't get some sleep, I am going to have to force you to sleep with me on the bed, to make sure you don't go anywhere you aren't supposed to." he teased and then chuckled, "But you seriously need to rest, I have a whole mess to make tomorrow and I kind of have to be there before Helena and the others, if I am going to stop the portal."

Nicoli sighed but nodded a little. “Only if you promise not to do anything foolish that I can’t save you from.” He said with a smirk but then he was serious again. “I will follow his one Helena.” He assured her.

Rowan giggled some. “Okay okay I’m going. Remember, no foolish moves, I can’t have you being caught.” She said with a smirk. “Be careful tomorrow Eric and rest well tonight.” She said as she went to the door to leave so she could get some rest too.

Helena smirked, "And I will be safe." she said, "It's not like the Rebels are after me." she teased, before pulling away to get back into bed, she sighed, "Everything will be fine."

Eric smirked, "No promises other then to try." he assured her before getting back into the bed.

Nicoli smirked. “Don’t even tease about that, now I’m even more worried about you leaving again.” He teased gently as he helped her back into the bed and then climbed in beside her as they had been before.

Rowan smirked but nodded as she left and returned to her own room to try to get some sleep. She would need to wake early to make it to the Med Hall to see Helena as she had promised she could.

Helena smirked, "But I'm not. I wouldn't worry too much." she assured him, "If they were after me, I am sure you would be there to make sure that I was safe. But I am sure they have a lot better things to do then come after a Science without a tower." She laid down and smiled at him, "Let's just sleep, by the time I get back, you''l have the who rebel thing figured out." she teased.

He chuckled a little and kissed her cheek. “Good night Helena. Sleep well.” He said to her, his mind going through everything. He was of course worried for her, but he could only wait patiently here.

By morning, Helena sighed and then smirked to herself, as she looked at Nicoli, the sun would be up and she would be going, but at least she knew that he loved her this time. She closed her eyes for a few more seconds just to enjoy the comfort he gave her, before she had to start getting ready to go.

Nicoli hadn’t woken yet, he had his arms wrapped around Helena and was holding her close to himself. When she moved a little though it did wake him. He smiled sleepily at her. “Good morning.” He said.

Helena opened her eyes again and smirked at Nicoli, 'Morning." she said with a smile, before she sighed, "We should probably make sure everything is in order before it's time for me to go."

Nicoli frowned a little but then nodded. “Yeah probably. Why don’t you try to rest a little long, I can get some things together.” He suggested.

“I can help too.” Rowan said quietly from the door way. She’d promised to be there to see Helena before she left.

 

[Matreania]

Helena smirked, "Okay, just make sure that you get everything from my lab." she told him, "I haven't really gotten anything brought here, just yet, so my lab is everything I have here." Helena turned and smirked at Rowan, "It might go faster if you two work together."

Rowan smiled a little and nodded. “Okay. We’ll be back soon.” She said. Leaving the room and then waiting for her father. Nicoli chuckled and kissed Helena’s cheek before going to follow Rowan.

Helena sighed, smirking as she watched them go.

Miranda was in a rush down the hall, looking around, until she sighed, she had just arrived and she was in no mood to be wondering around this place. She looked with disgusted as she turned the corner, right into Rowan, she growled, "Seriously? It is bad enough I'm in this tower, but you don't even have a system for walking in the hall."
