Rowan's whole demeanor changed as she took a step towards them. But before she could say anything more, Nicoli spoke up. "Let's go test it out then. That's all you have left to do right? Besides I'm not going to let you do it without me there." He said. He glanced to Rowan. "You know your way back to your room right?" He asked. She raised an eyebrow in a manner saying 'you have got to be kidding me' and Nicoli gave her a sheepish smile. "Right. Well I'll see you later then right?"

"Actually I have some things to take care of so possibly not. I'll see you later." She said, waving her hand a little as she made to leave the training area. Nicoli watched her a moment, but then returned his attention to Helena.

Helena watched them, for a moment before she frowned, "Nicoli. Maybe you should let her come. If it goes right, I'm sure she'd like to see her mother too."

"And if for some reason it doesn't then what? I don't want her involved with this as much as possible. If anything were to go wrong, she still has a chance of having a life here, if someone finds out that she was involved with any of this with us, it could ruin that chance. I don't want that to happen for her." He said gently. "She'll be fine." He added to try to reassure her.

Helena took a deep breath and nodded, "You are right." Then she smirked, "Let's test it out. It should work and then you will have your wife back."

Nicoli smiled, hugging her tight. "Come on, let's see what you've got made out in that lab of yours." He said, moving to leave the training area with her. "Where do you think the best place to test it will be?" He asked.

Helena smirked, "We can just go to the lab and I will activate it to try and get it around the same time. I shoudl be able to get the right spot." she assured him as they walked together.

Nicoli nodded. “Sounds like a plan. And what should I be looking for that means things haven’t gone according to plan...just to be safe.” He asked.

Helena smirked at him, "Well, I will try to pull her out, so if what I pulls out isn't her, we probably should assume that something is wrong." she stated.

Nicoli chuckled. “Well obviously. But what about before that? Or during. With the actual time travel piece.” He asked her. As much as he’d love to see his wife again, he did not want to lose Helena.

Helena smirked, "Don't worry, there is nothing that will happen." she said and looked to Nicoli, "You trust me, don't you?" she asked him, "You know I want you to be happy. She makes you happy, I won't stop until you have her back."

Nicoli smiled. “I do trust you,” He assured her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “I jut don’t want to lose you too. You make me happy also you know.” He said gently.

Helena stopped and looked at him and smirked sadly, "Once. I did make you happy once. But Nicoli." she frowned, "I haven't been happy since then and I'm happy now, but if it comes to me or her, what makes you happiest I will chose, and that's her." she told him, before pulling away, "Just trust me, I will get her back for you." she assured him, before she moved to head to her lab again.

Nicoli didn’t follow right away. He wasn’t sure if that was true or not. Frankly it had been easy for him to get passed his wife’s death with Helena at his side and he felt horrible for it. But he wasn’t going to choose again. His wife was dead and if this didn’t work he wouldn’t risk Helena fir her. He sighed and then moved to go into the lab with Helena.

Helena got into her lab and sighed, as she moved to get the orb, she moved to Nicoli and handed it to him, "You just have to think of it. Break the orb and the spell will release." she told him and smirked up at him, "It'll open a portal and then I will go in and get her." she assured him.

Nicole nodded as he took the orb. He pictured the moments before everything had gone to hell. Then he dropped the orb and watched as it gave Helena her opening.

Helena took a deep breath before she stepped through the light and grabbed the first small figure she could. But when she pulled back, the portal closed and she saw spots. But what she pulled back was not Nicoli's wife. Helena moved back, as she tried to get her sight back and the woman she pulled back looked around in amazement before her eyes landed on Nicoli. "Nicoli?" she said confused, she smirked slightly as she looked at him, "I'm so very confused." Her voice only grown, as she became clear, it was Helena, when she was younger, she looked lost at Nicoli, "What is going on?"

Nicoli frowned. “I...that I’m afraid is a very good question.” He said, looking between the two women. He moved to the older Helena, making sure she was okay since she seemed the most affected. She also was likely the only one who could answer that question.

Helena shook her head, as she gained her control and sighed, looking to her younger self, her eyes widened. Her younger self looked at them both and smirked, "So, you help now?" she asked Nicoli.

Helena looked at her younger self and frowned, she remembered this. She looked at Nicoli, "Maybe you shoudl show her around." she told him, "I need to recreate the spell." she whispered to Nicoli, "But keep her away from Rowan and anything else that proves you didn't marry me. If I recall, this was just before you left, I was still working on the wedding." she looked at him sadly, "If she knows now, she might not let you go so easily." she informed him.

Young Helena smiled, "At least that doesn't change much, we still have our little secrets."

Nicoli hesitated but then nodded as he looked to the younger Helena. “Come on.” He said with a smile, holding his hand out to her. “Let’s go to our place.” He said, meaning the tree at the center of the tower.

Young Helena smiled as she moved to take his hand, "Okay."

Helena sighed, "I will see you in a bit, when I get it redone." she assured him.

Nicoli nodded. “Should we come back here or will you find us?” He asked. It felt nice to hold her hand again. He realized it was of course the younger version of her, but to be with her before he’d hurt her so badly was nice. He was starting to debate whether to let Helena continue to try to recreate the spell for his wife.

Helena nodded, "I'll come get you." she assured him before she moved to start to get to work.

Young Helena smirked, "I see what you mean. I do work hard." she said, looking at Nicoli, to follow him, "We seem to be okay, don't we?" she stated.

That broke his heart a little to hear her say. “Yeah, yeah we do.” He said. It wasn’t a lie, it just wasn’t how she thought it was. He could see it though, a light that was there that she no longer had and he knew that was his fault. He’d hurt her so badly. “You must be pretty excited for the upcoming wedding huh?” He asked, giving her a smile and trying to keep his tone light.

Young Helena smirked, "Yes." she bite her lip, "I'm nervous though. Just so you know. You have been spending some time on missions and the human world, I just.....I worry about when you come back. If you will." she confessed, "But you do." she smiled as she walked with him. "Do you still have your journal? Did we ever have kids?" She said excited, "I have so many questions."

Nicoli gave her a small smile. “You know I can’t answer any of that, it might influence your future.” He said. “I wish I could talk to myself from your time though, I think I could really change some things.” He said. He felt his heart breaking little by little as she spoke. He was going to have a good long talk with Helena once the young Helena was back in her own time.
