Emery glared at her when she bumped into him, "Really, kid. You need to start learning to pay attention."

"Emery." Hector scolded, "Rowan is a shadow like the rest of us."

"Half." he corrected.

Adam grinned, "All the best parts." he flirtatiously stated.

Hector sighed, "Either way, I want her with us, she has to do with what I want done." he stated, "Rowan have you eaten?"

Rowan quickly backed away from Emery when she had realized what she'd done and then looked to Hector, shrugging some. No she hadn't eaten yet, she hadn't eaten the night before either, she just found that she wasn't hungry. "Have you already eaten?" She asks instead. If they had she wasn't going to bother eating breakfast. She didn't want to waste their time or hers.

Hector smirked, "No, let's have this meeting over breakfast." he suggested as he started to lead the way. Emery rolled his eyes at her and sighed as he followed Hector. Adam smiled at her.

He placed his hand across her shoulder and pulled her to follow him, "You know he is like that with everyone." Adam assured her.

Dakota looked to him a little uncertainly as he put his arm around her, but made no move to pull away. "Is that so?" She says. No wonder Adam seemed to be his only friend. Though she chose not to say that. "Then it's good you're here to balance him out." She says.

Adam grinned, "Emery and me have been together since we were small, kind of just got to get used to it and he'll show you a different side." he winked, "Trust me, no one knows the cold hearted Emery like I do. He is really a softy."

Emery glared back at them, "Adam, shut up. I know you are talking about me."

Adam chuckled, "Of course, Some one has too." he laughed, Emery rolled his eyes and ignored the back and forth he usually would do with someone else.

Rowan scoffed. "Yeah right." She mumbled just as Emery looked back to them to shush Adam. "I'm sure he's like that with you, and maybe his girlfriend if he could get one with that attitude." She says with a slight smirk, glancing to Adam.

Adam smirked, "Honestly, still working on that one. Not sure if he is into girls yet, but I will find out before long. After all, no judgement, he is my best friend after all." he teased, "What about you? Any boyfriends I should worry about?"

She couldn't help the small laugh that escaped her lips at his comment about Emery. She smirked a little and then shook her head. "No, no boyfriends." She says with a grin, looking to him and smirking a little. His flirtatiousness was not something she was entirely used to. But at the same time it was refreshing and welcoming because it was so easy going.

Adam grinned, "Great. My offer for the room is still on the table, just so you know." he commented. "Or you could just stop by and look at the room. I will get you my pass code and you can see how much space it has. We can even look around together." he winked, obviously meaning more then looking.

She blushed deeply but couldn't help laughing some. "We'll see." She says playfully. She smiled more. Yes, his attitude was very refreshing.

Adam smiled, "That wasn't a no." he stated as he continued beside her, his arm still around her shoulder. "You know, I heard that you and Anthony had a good time with the healing, how did you take it? You know, when he got called in for some wound. I know the guy's older brother so I found out about the wound from him, but not much is being said about it. Did they tell you anything?"

She looked to him curiously and then shrugged. "It didn't bother me." She said by way of how she took it. She shrugged some again, it surprised her but it really hadn't bothered her much. As for what she knew, she didn't know much of anything and she didn't know what he could know. "I don't know. Mostly all I know is that it was unusual." She says with a slight frown.

Adam nodded thoughtfully and thought about what she said, "Well, I guess you just getting here, there really isn't much to be expected of you to know and keep in mind." he smiled, "I think you are doing pretty well for your first day."

She laughed a little, though there was a slight bit of sarcasm to it. "Thanks Adam." She says playfully, though she was also sincere. She just felt lost and clueless.

Adam smirked as he held the door for her, motioning her to go in first when they reached the hall and there was just a small table in the center with plates already ready for them. Adam grinned, "Pancakes, awesome." he said as he jumped in his seat and Emery sighed as he sat across from him and Hector sat at the head, smirking at Adam.

Rowan hesitated at the doorway a little. She wasn't comfortable eating with them, even if it was only Emery who was unpleasant with her. She sighed a little and slowly took the remaining seat, between Adam and Emery. She looked to the pancakes. They looked delicious, and she felt a little more hungry but not much.

Hector sighed, when Adam got the syrup and poured it all over his plate, then passed it to Emery, who did the same thing before handing it to Rowan without looking at her. Adam was already starting to cut his pancakes and eating them in a mix with the sausage, bacon and eggs.

She looked between them and then the syrup and sighed quietly to herself as she poured a little bit over everything, then held it out to Hector in question of if he wanted any. Then she looked to her own food, it did smell and look pretty good. She would eat as much as she could, if she could.

Hector smirked as he took the syrup and poured just a bit on his pancakes, before he started to say something, "I have a mission for the three of you."

Emery looked at him confused, "Three of us? You can't be serious." he protested, as Adam nodded and shrugged, smirking at Rowan.

Hector sighed, "I need Nicoli's weapons."

"I can get them alone, she doesn't need to come."

"She does if she wants to have something else to wear and anything else she needs. We are at war, I don't have time to worry about little things. I need the weapons and she needs to get her things, that is why I am sending two of you."

Adam sighed, "Okay, I'm up for that."

Rowan didn't say anything at first. She knew Hector was right, but at Emery's responses she was losing her temper. She looked up to him, holding her fork harder than necessary. "Maybe you could just stand watch outside the house. I could find my father's journal in a matter of an hour, when not a whole lot of others could, I'm sure I can figure out where his weapons are too without your help." She snaps, though her voice remained soft. Then she smiled a little too sweetly. "Or just you and I could go, I'll show you the weapons first so if something were to come, I'm no longer necessary." She adds quietly and harshly. She wasn't sure why he brought out this side of her, or why she felt it necessary to speak like this to him. But then she realized it was because she was exhausted, and upset and her fuse was running short.

Emery glared at her, before hector cleared his throat, "That is enough." Emery's attention back on Hector, "I have decided that Adam will get the weapons and Emery will help Rowan get her things. It's important that everything goes this way. I want Rowan back in one piece." he sternly looked at Emery, who sighed frustrated and nodded.

Adam smirked at Rowan, "If you want to help me find the weapons, then I would be happy for the help." he grinned

She huffed a little in annoyance as she glared right back at Emery and then sighed as she looked to Adam. She offered him a sweet smile. "I'd be happy to help you." She says sweetly.

Adam grinned, "Great. We can go after breakfast and then you can tell me all about being human." he offered, "I mean you are half shadow and half Human, so you have to have some interesting stories about growing up."

She smiled and let out a breathy chuckle. "I think co pared to all of this its goi g to be awfully boring." She says. She shrugged. "But hey, I'll share." She says with a teasing smile.

Adam smirked, "Boring is honestly the better part of the day." he said, "Excitement is very over rated and that is exactly why I want to hear about being human." he smiled at her.
