Fantasy Two Clans

K grinned as the leaves fell to the ground, each of them sliced in half, "True swordsmen are never satisfied." He paused briefly and looked over toward Rierre, a bit curious as to what he had planned. If nothing else he was rather cunning in his subterfuge when going against someone, which was one reason the 'evil' clan is such a force to be reckoned with across the land. The simple odds would say that he had someone that needs to die, or at least someone that needs to get the crap scared out of them.

He sat down next to Rierre, K's focus now off of training so he was back to his lackadaisical self. He tilted his head as he looked up at the sky, his tone a bit inquisitive at the moment, "So what do you have planned, I caught a sparse glimpse at the paper you handed Aoi." He paused and looked over at Rierre, his brow raising as he posed his conundrum , "Is it time to move against the rival clan again?" At which they have done before but considering all of the activity this would be leagues above any other confrontation in the past, and K was rather interested in his part in this.

Kito was walking, finally out of the forest, towards a village. If his map was correct it'd be the village where the 'good' clan resided. "Hm... I wonder." He then stopped walking just a few feet away from the actual entrance to the village and stared at it. "There's word of possible war between the two clans... I don't think I'd like to get involved in it." Kito thought to himself as he took one step backwards, away from the village. He had nothing to do with either of the clans, he couldn't care less. At the same time Kito wanted to go to the village to look for a possible job, he was running low on money. Eventually Kito decided to walk forward towards the village, he needed money after all.

Nana blinked one, twice. A compliment? She hadn't heard those in a long time. After all, being alone for some years had its disadvantages. Everyone liked to be appreciated once in a while. Nana had forgotten the small happiness that came with it. The green haired ninja smiled. "Not at all...Thank you! You look quite handsome yourself." She hesitated but soon returned to her childish and carefree attitude.

"...Something's off." Words echoed in her mind as she quietly touched one of her her chisa katana with her fingertips. "Be careful, Riku." She prounounced the sentence in a calm voice, a smile still visible on her face.

Riku looked At her as she had the blank look on her face. He chuckled a bit waiting for her to rejoin the world of the living. Riku was a bit worried up until she smiled which gave him a bit of comfort, she could be quite scary.

"What's wrong?" He looked at her and when he saw her reach for her katana, he quickly grabbed his dual daggers and the kunai before taking off his over shirt and pulling on the leather harness for his weapons.

"...How rude of you, getting suspicious of the one person who saved your life back there." Nana tilted her head with a smile still dominating her face. But it wasn't a cheerful smile, far from it. Sly, almost twisted. "And I trusted you. I'm such a naive person..." She shook her head slowly, her left hand unsheathed one of her chisa katanas gracefully.

Riku looked over at her after finally strapping in his harness "wait Nana calm down I'm not attacking you he put up his hands dropping the two daggers. He looked at her chisa katana in amazement, but he still knew to be careful he was still ready if she did attack his dagger resting on his foot for him to kick it up.

He felt a pit in his stomach hoping she wouldn't attack him he didn't want to have to fight her but he would.

After careful observation on Akira's initial reaction, Kuriha decided to retrieve her kunai and formally introduce herself. By formally, she kept her back turned and eyes focused on the woods. It seemed like the night was full of random encounters, and she had a feeling Akira wouldn't be the last of it. "If you offer your services here," She began with a pause, a certain sadness gleaming in her eyes. "Then you must not value your life." Upon employment, he would be granted basic life necessities within the village, though his life would not be guaranteed. War was coming soon.

Some time passed as Itou drank his tea and finished his meal, paying the waitress his dues before gingerly carrying his belongings outside before slowly setting down the Evil village's road. His kusarigama were slung about a holder tied to his obi, his eyes occasionally falling towards their sickle-shaped blades as he went.

Wandering about the village, he got to work. Politely inquiring residents went surprisingly well; though his conservative nature was viewed with an air of suspicion, most were seemingly willing to point out a few local landmarks... the restaurant where he had just been, a small inn and... a training ground? He set course towards the grounds, upon arrival seeing the village students working diligently. He smoothed out his clothing, attempting to look presentable. He was receiving a few dark stares here and there, they knew his presence... and his weapons did not help. But he had to wait. Inquiring a nearby trainee about the village and employment, he tried his best to stay where he was. Hopefully someone more informed would pass by soon enough.

At this point, Kuriha's appearance came as no surprise for Akira. He examined this new kunoichi and found her, as far as first impressions go, very capable of taking care out herself.

At her remark about the value he placed on his life, he broke out into a broad grin. His smile was tinged with an unspoken grief.

"I am a ronin. The value of my life is only equal to the quality of the service I can provide." His words were colored with a melancholy chuckle though his expression remained bright.

As he spoke he tugged unconsciously at the strap holding the blade on his back. His gaze drifted off into the surrounding trees as he waited for a response from the two kunoichi.

Well, they haven't QUITE tried to stab me yet. He thought to himself.

Nana stared at Riku for what it seemed to be hours, her clear green eyes narrowed. But then, suddenly, she broke into a nonsensical smile and raised her sword, which was pointed at the younger ninja. "Oh, I see, I see! You were just wary, right?" She giggled and walked up to him, sealing away her chisa katan and patting both his shoulders happily. "Don't worry, I got your back, Riku. I like you so I'm not interested in killing you!" But then she leaned close and whispered in his ear with a low, somewhat eerie voice. "You won't betray me, right....?" She pressed his shoulders gently. She could not let herself be betrayed again.

(PS. She means it in a friend way, just to not give the wrong idea)

Riku's grin fell as he looked at her. They had locked eyes Riku waiting for her to start attacking, when she smiled he let his guard down hoping she had believed him.

"I'm sorry Nana I thought you heard something so I panicked and took out my daggers." He admitted guiltily. When she patted his shoulders he shook his head "i promise you I won't." He said with a smile on his face that showed fear rather than happiness.

(Lol I got it)

"You seemed tense even before we entered the house..." Nana let got of his shoulders with a calm voice. She seemed to have returned to her usual self, if you could call it that. She giggled lightly at Riku's fear, how cute. "But I'll just ignore that. Ninjas are ought be wary of others at all time so I guess you did have a point back there. So don't worry about it, no need to apologize. Nevertheless, be sure to warn me first." She turned her head back to the entrance of the room, reaching the door. She stretched her arms with a small yawn. "I'm a bit tired too, I haven't watch out for someone's back in so long, I'm a bit rusty at it!"

Riku sighed it was a bit hard keeping up with her constant change in feelings toward him, one second she was laughing with him the next her sword was pointed at him ready to cut him... A few seconds passed before he just burst out laughing more out of lack of knowing what to do. 'Jeez I'll probably be killed by her before I can even use my daggers in a real fight.' He thought to himself before sitting down and releasing his harness.

"Well, what to do, what to do..." Nana sang as she tapped her fingers in the door, looking outside. The inn seemed like a nice place to stay in. Riku's 'friends' didn't seem to be around there anymore so she shouldn't have a problem staying in the village for a while. But the innkeeper did not seem to be awake, unfortunately. Nana sighed, dramatically of course. A hard log awaited her... She was already used to it but the temptation of a matress was so, so pleasant. She then locked eyes on Riku and let a small chuckle escape from he lips. "You should tell a girl to leave if you're ready to go to bed, Riku. She might get the wrong idea..." She said as she walked closer to the bed, with a sly smile, shadowing the fact he was undressing. She merely wanted to tease him of course. What would be his reaction...

Riku opened his eyes looking at Nana, he sat up when he realized what was going on he sighed. "If you want you can sleep in my bed I'll sleep on the ground he sat up moving his things as he moved to one particular corner in the room.

He didn't suggest sleeping together due to the way she took things he didn't want it to end up with her drawing her sword again. He chuckled he knew she was teasing him but he was still a gentleman and wasn't going to let her sleep in the woods.

Such an uninterested reaction towards her innuendo...Riku either had guts to answer her like that or was a dense person.

"Oh, no, no, no, your wounds are still healing!" Nana shook her hands frantically with here eyebrows furrowed. "You need to sleep in a matress, Riku. I won't be able to sleep knowing I did such a terrible act!" She dramatically covered her mouth with her hand, as if trying to choke a sob. But soon turned to him with a cheeky grin, her hands joined behind her back. "But thank you. That is very gentleman-like of you. If you permit me to sleep on the floor, I would be delighted and eternally grateful. If that, of course, is okay with you." She once again tilted her head lightly.

Riku looked at her sighing again as he looked at her he pointed at his bed "just sleep if we had have stayed in the woods I would have had to sleep on a log anyway. It's fine" Riku said with a serious look on his face.

He kept his face passive as she made the sound of sobbing knowing she was just pulling tricks as usual. He was getting used to it. And he smiled on the inside proud he didn't let her get to him.

As Kito enter the village he immediately noticed everyone giving him looks of confusion, interest, and glances of untrustworthy natures. He cared not for how others viewed him, after all they were of no importance to him. He noticed how people had their guards up at all times and how they went about their business was also quite different than other villages. He immediately knew that they were weary of the good clan and bad clan's actions towards one another. "Majority of these people probably see me as a possible threat, seems the tension between the clans are even affecting the actions of residents... It's all so stupid." Kito thought to himself as he came to an old restaurant and stopped walking in order to examine it. The restaurant was a little run down and slightly suspicious but at the same time it looked inviting enough, or so that's what Kito thought. Kito shrugged to himself and walked into the restaurant and looked around for a second and noticed only a few older individuals eating and telling stories to one another. They seemed to not mind him at all even though he was obviously not from around here. Kito took this as an 'ok' to sit down and dine and so he found a table off in the corner where the least amount of light was and took a seat. An old man walked up to him with a large smile on his face and in the most friendliest voice asked, "What would you like, Sir?" and then he just looked at Kito with patient eyes. In a calm and very relaxed tone Kito replied, "Some rice with noddles and tea... Oh yeah, some dumplings too." Kito then stared at the man as he bowed his head and went to the back of the restaurant to prepare the food. "Peaceful... For now." He thought to himself as he continued to scan the restaurant and observe the people eating.

"I see you are being immensly stubborn...well then, I believe there's only a way to solve this." She suddenly jumped and fell onto the bed, spreading her body like a starfish. "We'll have to share the bed." She spoke in a serious voice, conveying her lack of teasing this time. She didn't mean anything by it, of course, it only seemed the most logical option.

Riku sat up looking at her he couldn't help but grin he looked at her in confusion this time she really confused him "are you serious?" He asked not knowing if she was joking or not.

He stated at her for a bit but he wound up crawling over to her laying next to her sure to keep the distance just in case he didn't know about her. He thought of traveling with her but waved the idea away thinking it was crazy.

"Just to make you feel more comfortable..." Nana picked up one of her chisa katanas and placed it between them, the blade covered by her cape. "No passing across the line. Simple!" She smiled proudly of herself and lied down again, sighing of happiness. At last, a soft matress... "Hey Riku." She paused and adjusted her position, back to back against him. "Thank you. Sweet dreams." For once, she sounded sincerely nice.

Riku chuckled when she place the katana between the two of them he rubbed his eyes yawning as he grew tired. He layed his head down

Riku twisted and turned trying to get some rest but looked up when she talked to him. "Your welcome Nana for whatever it is your thanking me for." Riku closed his eyes again.

Kuriha's manners seemed to return as she faced Akira with a somewhat friendlier demeanor, welcoming even. "Very well, then." She stepped closer to the ronin, intending to challenge his own inner abilities. Not merely as a ronin, but as a human being. "I look forward to seeing how long you last." Kuriha extended her hand out for a handshake, a formal way to accept his services.

Akira grasped her hand in his and shook it solemnly, looking her in the eyes.

"I've made it this long so far," he said with a laugh.

"Thank you, though I don't think I got your name,"

Kuriha noticed he did not seem to falter, the handshake had sealed the deal. His eyes appeared as determined as hers, though it was still too soon to tell. Having Akira around might help decrease causalities once the real battle began. With a nod, she introduced herself, pulling away and taking a step back. "Kuriha." Her eyes seemed distant again, looking around the village. "You are free to use one of our spare rooms, should you become tired. Meals will be provided. I will let the Elder know of our business here." She looked over at Aeri before heading off. "Feel free to use him as you see fit."
