Fantasy Two Clans

maerow

Wanderer
Kuriha stepped out into the night. It was rather chilly, and her hair was fluttering about. The moon was in full view, glistening with a mysteriously calm aura. The critters of the night could be heard in the distance, and Kuriha took the moment of peace and climbed on a nearby roof, gazing at the moon. Thoughts of the other clan entered her mind. She pondered why they were so antagonizing, unable to see the clear, just path. Unifying the two clans seemed but a fleeting dream at this point. Kuriha sighed, closing her eyes.

Aeri was out practicing her footwork. There were sufficient trees around to help her practice. She needed to keep her skills keen, especially now that there was no one to teach her the ways of her village. Scouting the area was another action she does with while she trains. At least something productive for the clan will come out of her training.

As she looked around the place, she saw someone on the rook and she almost immediately recognized who it was. Fortunately, it wasn't an enemy. She was quite distracted that she didn't notice the branch that was in her way. It was too late when she finally noticed it.

"Oof!" she yelped as it hit her left shoulder quite hard as she was going at a fast speed. She fell to the ground with a thud. She cursed under her breath. She might have woken fellow ninjas by the noises she had made but she was more annoyed at her simple mistake.

Kuriha was laying on the roof when she heard the noisy ninja. She propped her elbow up and glanced in the direction Aeri fell. "Clumsy." Kuriha whispered to herself with a slight grin. She considered training herself, or perhaps even sparring with the younger kunoichi. Though the calmness of the night left her in a state of reverie, she did not want to move from her comfortable spot.

K was walking the main path to the training area where all the up and comers train to one day be known throughout the world, whether it be good or bad being their own prerogative. He knew his place in the clan, his place was lethal efficiency or in lemans terms 'to get the job done.' Many new initiates have taken to calling him the 'Hidden Evil,' which he didn't really mind that much. It wasn't news to him that he is an entirely different person when fighting or on a mission, he was for lack of a better word 'scary.'

With that in mind he stopped at the mat which the initiates used to train with one another, the skills they would learn here would without a doubt save their lives down the line while on assignment. He took up a crude wooden sword and stepped on the mat, saying as his expression turned from happy go lucky to serious and fierce. "So let us begin." With that said the first three initiates charged rather crudely forward, them going high and low without any coordination or thought put forth before the attack. He easily vanished before them and reappeared behind them rapping them on the back of the head, "And you three are now dead." He paused and sat the sword back where he had found it and said with the happy go lucky expression back upon his face, "The first thing you need to learn is to think."

Aoi slips out of the clan and enters the woods. He felt a slight comfort in them and was able to meet his wolf friend, Rogue and her newborn pups. Yes, he had a pet wolf that he trains with regularly but since the day she gave birth, he hasn't ordered her around much.

Aoi got to one of the hollow tree barks and peered inside. There laid 5 pups and their mother. His dark expression softened before he returned back to the clan.

A mission was laid out for him to assassinate some rich drunkard. Aoi took it without hesitation. If it was people, he can kill. If they were rich bastards, he could torture. He went on his way out to find the man and when he found him, the ninja instantly made a clean pierce through the heart. Hopefully none of those 'good' people showed up. They annoyed the hell outta him.

Kito was walking on a narrow path that cut through a forest, he had no true mission besides getting money in order to buy some delicious food. Sure, he could kill a few animals and eat them but he's become particularly fond of a certain diner that served the best noodles he's ever had. As he was walking he'd occasionally look up at the stars and moon hanging in the night sky, it made him feel relaxed for some reason, he had no idea why. Kito slowly came to a stop and looked around, he could sense that there were three ninjas hiding in the bushes getting ready to ambush him, suddenly he wasn't feeling as relaxed now.

The three ninjas then jumped simultaneously out and started to charge him. "Unskilled...." Kito thought to himself right before reaching for one of his small katanas and in, what seemed to be, one swing of his blade the three ninjas fell to the ground with large gashes on their chests from his sword. Kito slowly sheathed his small katana and readjusted his mask on his face. He then began walking once more after sighing to himself and shaking his right hand to loosen it up.

Aeri rubbed her shoulder, trying to ease out the pain. She looked back to where Kuriha was and saw her looking at her. She let out a smile, laughing at her own mistake. Her annoyance had soon dissipated, thanks to this. This was why she appreciated friends.

She shadow stepped towards the person on the roof. She was glad that she wasn't the only one who appreciates the beauty of the night.

"Grand, isn't it?" she asked, referring to the stars. Sometimes at night, she would go stargazing and if she was lucky, a shooting star might pass by. Of course, it was done better when she had company but she hasn't had one since her best friend, Lira, died.

The woods were never meant to stay quiet during the night, Kuriha knew as much. Though she still couldn't help looking toward it with a grim expression. "Indeed." She glanced at Aeri without so much as blinking. "For a moment, I almost feel at peace here." Kuriha looked back up at the stars that spread endlessly. Sleep eluded her. Her priorities to protect her people kept her up at night. Waiting. Watching. Even the slight sound of a twig breaking in the distance was enough to keep her eyes peeled, more precisely toward the woods, and into the enemy village.

"For a moment, I almost feel at peace here." Kuriha said, making Aeri feel guilty. She scratched the back of her head, laughing nervously.

"Y-Yeah, sorry about that. I was distracted." she said in reply. Of course, as a ninja, you're already trained to sleep lightly, and to wake up upon hearing sounds. Even she was like that. She looked over to Kuriha. She was looking into the woods... no. Probably something far deeper than the woods. The rival clan lies somewhere at the other side. Though Lira has briefed her of the feud between the two clans, she cannot understand why this war even had to exist. In her village, people hired them to do jobs, ranging from escorting someone to an assassination. She never thought she'd be part of such a clan having war with another. Either way, she was going to help them to the best of her abilities. Lira would have wanted that. She sighed deeply at the memories with her best friend. She looked back at Kuriha, trying to think of a topic to spark up a conversation She didn't know Kuri since they don't usually interact and because she always seemed cold to her but she's observed her a many times to know some things about her. "I believe you've not been sleepy well lately." she finally said.

Kuriha smiled faintly at Aeri. Her observation skills were commendable, though Kuriha wasn't one to praise another- vocally anyway. Her gaze only continued to remain distant and sharp. "I...do not need sleep." Kuriha murmured as the wind blew. It was usually chilly being out so late- though this time she wasn't alone. The dreams, or rather, nightmares that haunted her when she slept was one of the reasons she refused sleep. They didn't make sense. She had tried talking to the Elder about them, but he failed to give her the comforting wisdom she'd been looking for. It was strange, and oddly discouraging. Some concepts were impossible to grasp even if it involved the Elder in which she highly respected.

"You should sleep." Kuriha said to Aeri, her expression never changing. It was clear that both of the shinobi had a lot on their mind. "I will stay here and keep watch, as usual."

Rierre waited for the rest of the council members in a well-maintained room designed for meets like this. After a few minutes, they came and started to take their seats.

"You are all here, are you not?" Rierre asked as he was counting the number of men in the room. "Yes, sir, we are." The others replied. "Then let us begin. What's the status of our ninjas in the other clan?" Rierre said as he looked towards each one of them, carefully examining their faces if they would say good or bad news. "Sir, they have not been noticed for a while but the other group is showing signs of suspicion. We also have intel that they may have been training." One of them said as the others took notes, writing on their papers.

"Very well then, ready up for Phase Two. Tell the rest to prepare for the bloodshed that we may need to create." Rierre said as he touched the hilt of his katana, turning his back towards the council. "We will do everything me must to have absolute order. That is all, you are dismissed." He said as he stared into the wooden frames of the room. The council stood, bowed and left.

Then a girl came up to him saying " Sir, shall I call him for you?" He looked at her and said "No, I will be doing it myself. You may leave." The girl bowed, then left.

Rierre turned around and looked at the empty seats as he started to walk out of the room. Walking slowly, he thought of how he would make sure that Phase Two would be a complete success.

A normal night as someone drinking a sake in normal life, A black, long haired ninja in off-duty, which is Hideyoshi is sitting there on the chair and doing nothing as he takes a slip of the alcohol. "Man, I joined here for my clan for my mother, I bet I have to honor her with the Wakizashi by coating the Evil clan member with blood. I Promise you that I avenge you." His thoughts came in talking. When there was a wind, whispering in the air and fell quiet to his ears and a butterfly landed on the back of his right hand. It was somewhat a colorful butterfly that gave a first glance to his eyes, a beautiful creature that is attracting, but he shrugged his right hand to let it fly. He watched the butterfly ascending & descending to the air as it files crazily though the air.

He looked at the Wakizachi just one more time on the blade. A blade that is reflected from the moonlight gives off a gleaming look. He closed it away and began drinking some more sake.

(I have changed it a-bit, didn't pay much attention to the first post.)

"What about you then? The dark rings under your eyes do not go unnoticed to me." She said. She was worried. Besides, she'd feel guilty if she had left her just like that. If she was going to be persistent with this conversation, she decided to change the topic instead. She pointed towards the sky. "Do you see that star there? And there and the one over there?" she asked but she wasn't sure if Kuri could follow at all. After all, she looked like she pointing at random areas in the sky. She just wanted to share a little something she hold special. Something that comforts her whenever she sees it at night.

Absentmindedly K forgot about the meeting that was taking place, which would explain one of the empty chairs. He didn't realize that the meeting was over until he saw a big group of ninja clan member walking out of the gathering room, which caused him to rub the back of his head. "Ohh...yeah, that was today was it?" He shrugged and halfheartedly wondered what the meeting was about, more likely than naught it had something to do with the rival clan and how they were to be eliminated.

"Hmmm," he stood in place and contemplated, his eyes on the people walking out of the room. It seemed that more than just K did not show up for the meeting today, him figuring that some of them were on leave or out and about on other assignments. He laughed lightly and said with a nod as he made his way over to the room, "I could always ask what it was about." With that in mind he stopped in front of one of the lower ranking female ninjas, "Could you give me a run down?"

The female ninja paused and hesitated for a brief moment, her not being a member for very long and only knowing K as the unparalleled long and close combat assassin that he is known for. Retrospectively, he probably should have asked one of the more seasoned members that attended the meeting but he really never thought about such trivial things. She eventually shook off the hesitation-which is due to her sparing session with him as the fearsome user of the Devils Blade technique-and drew up an answer, "The master simply talked about the rival clan and hinted about some sort of plan."

"Oh," he said with a light smile and patted the girl on the head, "Thanks you've been a big help." It was quite odd how such a fearsome individual can be so polarly opposite outside of battle and by the girls expression that was what she was no doubt thinking as well. The girl quickly walked away, obviously finding this little conversation to be odd and contradictory to everything that she knew about the Clans Silencer. (which the people have whispered outside of the compound) K looked around and didn't really notice any other high ranking members around but he eventually landed on the Elder of the group, which is a given title to the best of the clan...it has no correlation with ones actual age. Rierre is the only one that can surpass K in the use of the katana and K respects him for that, surpassing K in such a thing is no easy matter at all.

It seemed that Rierre was looking for someone or perhaps he was deep in thought about something like he usually is. Which of the aforementioned it may be wouldn't be something that K could decide on his own. With the recent meeting just having ended it was most likely pertaining to what he had discussed within the chambers, the opposing clan being the supposed gist of the discussion or at least that is what the young ninja had put forth. The reason for the meeting would eventually become public knowledge to K or at least that is what he figured, the plan more likely than naught going to have to have something to do with him. He stood there as Rierre was contemplating and walking down the path, K's fingers now rhythmically tip-tapping on his chin.

Kuriha seemed to acknowledge Aeri's concern though she chose not to respond. It must have been the sleep getting to her, but her attention was as sharp as ever. There was a noise in the distance, a few feet away into the woods in which she jumped into. Immediately, she threw her kunai into the moving bush and sat on the nearest branch, overlooking whatever she seemed to hit. It squealed in pain, its eyes wide with fear. A rabbit. Kuriha thought with a huff, her nails digging into the bark of the tree she used for support. Paranoia breeds paranoia. Kuriha landed on the ground with silent footfalls, nearing the corpse rabbit and taking back the kunai lodged in it. The surrounding trees stretched far and wide, making it nearly impossible to catch a glimpse of a star, or sky for that matter. She jumped tree to tree, walking on foot was never a wise choice, not when traps could be lurking about. She could nearly see the end of the woods, where Aeri was probably questioning her comrades sleep-deprived-paranoia.

Kito was walking silently on the path through the woods and heard faint, very faint, foot steps jumping from tree to tree. He stopped walking for a moment and placed his hand on the handle of his small katana and stood still for a moment with his eyes closed. He did not sense any hostility anywhere around him nor did the faint jumping that he heard seem to be going directly toward him. "No threat..." Kito simply thought before then removing his hand from the small katana. He decided to continue walking forward while keeping his sixth-sense in motion. If anyone or anything came near, he'd know immediately and be able to react. As for now, he was still in search for a new job and paid no attention to whoever it was.

Kagome, Kagome...

The bird within the cage...

When, oh when, will you come out?

In the evening lit by the dawn...

The crane and the turtle slipped and fell...

Who's that behi~~nd you?

A soft voice whispered the lyrics of a folklore song known among both children and elders. Footsteps could be fanitly heard, clutching tree's leaves as she walked down the path of the forest. She had a cloak, hiding her face and making the possibility of someone recognizing whom she was unlikely to happen. She was smiling slightly as she proceeded to whistle the song's melody quietly. She then stopped on her tracks. Turning slowly to her left, she smirked. Oh? She wasn't alone. Oh no, not alone at all. "Who's that behi~~nd you?" She sang once again in a low voice, starting to walk to where the sound she had heard was.

Kito then stopped as someone stepped into the radius of his sixth sense, he now knew they were there. "Someone else...." Kito thought to himself as he was puzzled that he did not notice the singing or the presence until just now. Kito stood there and turned to face where the person was and stared deep into the woods. You couldn't see his eyes through the mask but be sure that his eyes were definitely letting loose a sharp gaze. "Skilled, unlike those other three, but no hostility... yet." He thought to himself waiting for the person to reveal themselves.

Kuriha momentarily stopped, standing leisurely on the branch. She peered into the darkness, crouching down with a thoughtful expression. She was definitely not alone, this time it wasn't a mere rabbit. Unless rabbits had magically acquired the skill of singing... she thought about following the voice. It could have been a trap, a lost traveler, or even an enemy. After quite a while of pondering, she decided to stay put a while longer, letting the darkness shroud her presence.

Silently, Nana climbed the nearest tree. She smiled to herself as she was brought back to her childhood days, when she would climb skilfully so that anyone would find her to finish reading her scrolls. Thinking about, the situation was the same. Except this time, she only wished to catch her fellow companions in the woods. "Hostile? Or not hostile, hm?" She whispered as she unwrapped the bandage covering her left eye in order to be able to gaze upon her surroundings. Her golden eye, now fully exposed to revel her Heterochromia iridum, scanned through the trees and bushes. No use, no trace of a human nearby. That confirmed her suspicions. Ninjas. She jumped back to the ground, gracefully and continued walking. What to do...should she let them catch her? A bit of action wouldn't hurt...She smirked and once again sang.

Kagome, Kagome...

The bird within the cage...

Kito slowly put the palm of his right hand on the back of his neck as he began to hear the singing once more. "When, oh when, will you come out?" He sang quietly in a deep tone, he remembered the singing now... Though he isn't quite sure from where. Kito took a few steps back expecting for someone to come out and attack, like almost any other time. He didn't place his hand on the handle of his katana this time but instead relaxed both of his hands and kept scanning the dark woods, waiting for something to happen. He remained calm and kept his steady breathing. "Normal... No." Kito simply thought to himself about the situation.

As Rierre walked down the path, he saw K standing there as if he was waiting for something. Rierre then gestured at him to come over. Looking at the surroundings, he saw groups of ninjas carrying different sorts of supplies from here and there. "They are preparing, good. All that is needed is the right time to start it." Rierre thought to himself as he waited for K to come near him.

well, i tried

Suddenly a sound of a foot stepping down of a fallen branch was heard. Nana had stepped out from behind a tree near the young man with a fox mask, wearing a soft smile on her face, that was yet hidden by the black hood. "In the evening lit by the dawn... She continued walking towards him, slowly yet not entirely cautiously. She was calm...strangely calm. "The crane and the turtle slipped and fell..." She then stopped, only a meter away from Kito, her hood still hiding her features.

Kito stared at this person in front of him for a moment before putting his hand on his head and started to scratch it. "Who's that behind you...?"

Kito muttered finishing the short song for her. He couldn't quite remember where he heard it from last time but it was familiar and he knew it. Kito's hand dropped to his side and he then slowly bowed his head for a few second and turned to walk away. He was hoping that she wouldn't try to attack him but even if she did he'd definitely avoid it by using his flash step to get away. "Skilled..." Kito thought to himself before then raising his hand to readjust his mask.

"Are you leaving?" A soft and feminine voice came from behind him. Nana cocked her head at the young man in silence, waiting for an answer patiently. He was only being cautious, of course, she could relate to that. But he had sang with her. No one had ever answered like that to her taunting of sorts. She was intrigued by this stranger, both by his reaction and the mask on his head. She closed the distance between them by a few steps, slowly. She could probably easily block his attack if he tried but now she wasn't really in the mood for a fight. Now, she wanted to talk.
