Twisted Sisters (one on one)

"Oh umm maybe later" Shayne said as she looked around her. Her sister said she could smoke the blunt. She was good for now, if she really needed to she would. Shayne bit her lip and played with her jacket. She sighed, she wasn't tired other wise her head be in Blair's lap. She had slept the most she could or the most her body would allow. She wiped at her nose and looked at her reflection. In the bathroom she had wiped away the make that run down. She looked slightly disheveled. Shayne sighed and undid her ponytail and put it into a messy bun.

When her sister turned on the heat she sighed and got even comfier. She hated the seat belt so she fixed it how she liked it. Shayne played with her shoes they had holes in them."I don't know where ever your going I guess." She said. She didn't know she didn't make decisions on her own very well. She kept her grades up because she liked school it got her away from her parents and she actually wanted to try to do something with her life. She shrugged she wasn't sure where she wanted to go at all. Or if she really wanted to go some where pristine.

Shayne watched her sister drive. She was sure she could drive, she had been doing it since she was 16.She kept her arms around her legs. She itched her nose again. Shayne put her legs down since she wasn't cold anymore. She kept the blanket on her lap and looked at her sister when she spoke. She shrugged her shoulders."It wasn't your fault. You got your life together and got out more then I could of done." She said and laid her head on "I don't blame you for getting out of there like a bat out of Hell." Shayne said. She had made a small joke."You didn't have a choice and couldn't take me. So I don't blame or hate you. Maybe a little mad,but more out of being jealous." She said. Shayne picked at the hole in her jeans. She shrugged again and sighed.

Blair, wanting Shayne comfortable reached into the crew cab back of the truck so she could pull a pillow and second blanket up for her. She had faint memories of her hating her seat belt when they were young too. Her eyes darted to the younger woman when she said she didn't know, that she'd go were Blair was going. She could admit that she really wanted to keep Shayne close, and with the revelation that she was in fact not hated made her want that more. "I'd really like it if you came to Evergreen with me. I-I think you might like the way they have it set up there, less structured I guess? We have classes outside sometimes just because it's nice, there is a rock climbing wall and repelling wall on campus..." she stopped because that wasn't important at the moment.

Faith still looking confused shook her head a little and said. "I wouldn't, didn't, blame you for hating me. I hated myself for not trying harder to find a way to get us both out." she swallowed, glanced at Shayne then focused on the road again, "The only reason I was able to get my life together was because of you." she frowned at the road, did Shayne know that? How could she? she'd left her in hell. "You know that don't you? If it had just been me, I would have died in that house. I got out because I had to, I got on my feet because I had to." her eyes cut to her sister relaxing a little more in the seat. "I got scholarships and worked hard because I had to. Not because of me. I did it because I wanted to make you safe. I couldn't do that there, so I left so that I could come back a better person."

She shook her head, she was making a mess of this. "I was able to do it, Because of You." it was really important to her that Shayne understood that She was the driving factor in Blairs life. "I'll take you to Evergreen, let you look around meet some of the staff." she tilted her head, "Have you talk to a friend of mine. And if you don't like it there, I'll take you to any school you want and you can see if you like it there instead."

Shayne put the pillow behind her and got comfy. She put the other blanket under her and got comfy. Shayne looked at Blair and played with her lip. She grabbed another cigarette and lit it up. She offered her sister one and lit it for her. She had become a chain smoker. She liked the taste. She opened the window behind her to blowout the smoke. She didn't want to smoke up the cab.

Shayne listened to her sister and nods shrugging. She wouldn't mind it. She figured as long as it is as far away from here she be fine. She kinda wanted to go burn the house down. She sighed, she would burn her mother and step father in the house in her mind. She wished she could do it for real."Like I said I will go where ever your going don't have to talk it up to me." Shayne said as she smoked."don't hate yourself I get it. You did what you had to. Don't say you did it for me. You need to have done it for yourself." Shayne said. She knew what her sister was trying to say,but she shouldn't have made her world around Shane. She picked at her sweatshirt still."I am not the same person I was, you shouldn't think highly of me. No one else does. I certainly don't." She said and stick her thumbs in the thumb hole."you should work hard for yourself." She said.

Shayne sighed and inhaled on her cigarette."I don't want to talk to anyone. I will be fine with going to your school." Shayne said. She flicked the bud out and drank her water. She grabbed another smoke and sighed. She looked at her,"so you know what you want to do?" She asked her sister.

Blair took the offered cigarette, she took was known for her chain smoking. The only reason she'd not light up another one after her first was because Shayne was sleeping in her lap, and she was afraid to burn her on accident. She cracked her own window and took a deep drag. There was so much to say, because she was making a mess of what she was trying to say. You could go anywhere you dont have to be with me, but that didn't work so well if Shayne didn't hate her. There is little i've done for myself since we became sisters, it was the truth but clearly not what Shayne wanted to hear. She'd lost her older brother, and wanted to be for her new younger sister what he had been for her, a rock a protector and confidant. She threw out her but and light another with a grunt. "I'm not the same person I was either Shayne. But that hasn't stopped me from loving you or thinking the world of you. My working hard for you, is working hard for myself, because otherwise I'd not have tried at all."

she shook her head, "It's not a head doctor I want you to talk to, its my attorney, she helped me with a lot of legal stuff. Remember the cops who passed us as we were leaving before? They were going to pick up the devil and his hell bitch." she tapped the dash cam after ashing and said, "The entire thing outside the house was recorded and sent to not the local cops, but the FBI. The locals were corrupt, so my friend help me get some outsiders. She's also looked into some things for you Shayne." she was focused on the road, and hoped her hair hid the fact that she had tears in her eyes. "Your father loved you as much as mine abused you. He left you everything Shayne and your mother kept it hidden from you, hell she kept you hidden from it. Your Fathers attorney, well i guess he's yours now too, has been looking for you since you came of age."

She threw out the second but and started on a third because it was making her hands shake less, she was about to light up that blunt though. "It's why you can go anywhere you want Shayne. You could go over seas if you wanted to." and leave me like i left you. she didn't add the secondary thought because that wasn't fair, Shayne should be able to do and go where she wanted when she wanted. "I wield." came her answer to what she wanted to do, "I like it fine."

Shayne smoked three cigarettes almost as fast as her sister did. She was on her fourth the nicotine was calming her. She needed it more to keep her cool right now. She sighed and itched her head and kept picking at her jacket. She watched her step sister as she drove. She wanted to sleep again and maybe shower and put on some cleanish clothes."well of course I love you Blair, only one to care for me since my dad died." She said. She sighed, she really missed her dad. She use to be the apple if her daddies eye and she just wanted to see him again. She always carried a picture of him with her at all times. It was a picture of him and her smiling out in her yard. That was taken right before he was taken from her.

Shayne looked at her step sister again. When she said attorney. She didn't want to talk to any one didn't matter who the hell it was in her opinion. She nods when she was asked if she remembered the cops. She did remember them. She had his from them and it made her flinch slightly. Her sister said her parents be picked up. She showed her the camera that had recorded everything Shayne was a bit surprised at all that. She was glad her parents were going to be locked away. She also was surprised to hear that the woman looked into things for her. She sighed and snapped her head up when Blair talked about her father a small fire started in her. She hated when people told her how her father felt about her. She knew very well how her father felt. She was his princess and he would never hurt her. She was also angry her mother would keep things from her. Blair said she had an attorney who had been looking for her again she was surprised who be looking for her. Her father left her his fortune and many other things she knew he had given her. She thought her mom had spent it all.

Shayne kept silent and started in her fifth cigarette."I don't want to go anywhere else. I want to stay with you." She said."trust me I know my dad loved me, you don't have to tell me what I lost." She said into her sleeve as she wiped her nose so it didn't leak. When Blair said what she did Shayne nodded. She had reverted back to be silent. She shook with anger she wanted to go back and her mother alive and watch her scream in pain till she died. Shayne went and smoked another cigarette and drank some water. She sighed and rolled up her window and went to lay on Blair's lap. She wanted to hide again. She wanted her father.

"You don't have to talk to them if you don't want to just sign the paperwork they ask you to." Blair didn't let it make her feel good that Shayne said she loved her back, she needed to not let things she said make her so happy. It wasn't right, she was sick and twisted like Shaynes' mother always called her. She grit her teeth and didn't even remember what cigarette she was on anymore. Her own hidden tears had made her nose run a little so she reached back behind their seats again to get a box of tissues. She took a few and blew her nose rather awkwardly one handed as her other held the wheel and her smoke. She left the box on the seat between them so Shayne could use it if she wanted, having noticed her sniffles. She assumed it was cold, rather than emotions, having hidden her own by her hair.

"Alright." she said softly, she'd not try and make her leave for somewhere else. "Good. Thats good. Not that you lost it but that you knew it." she shook her head a little knowing she was making a mess of it again. Unlike Shayne, Blair was the apple of no ones eye. Her older brother thought of her more as a pet than a sibling to love. Her mother adored her brother, the handsome, talented, charming one, Blair had tried, but she was awkward. She was no good at any sport they tried to get her into, she had no talent for art or music. She was the boring child and she'd never felt loved by her mother. It was clear her father thought she was nothing but trash. She wished that Shayne had been able to keep her father, the one who loved her. She fleetingly wished that it had been she and her father who died rather than her brother and mother. Mother wasn't abusive, simply neglectful. Shayne could have had a wonderful daddy, a great older brother, and Blair even thought that her mother would have been amazing to Shayne. Shayne who was pretty, and smart and talented.

When the younger woman sigh and use her lap as a pillow again Blair let out a shaky sigh and roughly knocked her tears away so they wouldn't fall on the head on her lap. She reached to pull the blanket up around Shaynes' shoulders again, twitching it to make sure she was covered. Focusing on the road again she thought about the time of day, what was ahead of them, and where she could get a hotel so Shayne could have a nice long hot bath and or shower and sleep in a real bed.

Shayne nodded to her step sister. She told her she didn't have to talk to them just sign, she wasn't sure. She hid her eye's in her sister's legs. She was in tears. She had missed Blair and her father. She wrapped her arms around her leg and sniffed."Blair don't leave me ever again." She said in a small voice. She sighed and just wanted this all to be a dream. One long nightmare. She loved Blair and wouldn't be here with out her. She took a tissue and wiped her eye's and nose.

Shayne got comfy on her sister's lap. She sighed and moved a bit."I do love you Blair. Only one to care for me since my dad. So thank you." She said. Shayne sighed and watched her sister's foot hit the gas. She knew she thought herself useless and degraded herself."Your a better person then you give yourself credit for, don't listen to what ever they said to you. It definitely isn't true about you at least that is for sure." Shayne said. She traced her sister's jean pattern and sighed. She yawned and closed her eye's. Her hand going limp as she started to fall asleep.

Shayne felt the blanket pulled up around her shoulder. She got comfy and moved her head back more to find a comfy spot for it. Shayne finally fell asleep again. Yeah the sun was setting, but she needed it and felt like it was best to sleep. She was getting a bit stir crazy in the car. She finally woke again the truck was stopped. Shayne looked around the cab was empty. Where was Blair, she was starting to panic it was dark out and she didn't know where they were. Well besides being in a motel parking lot. She hid into the blanket and whimpered slightly.

Blairs' tears kept coming, "I won't. I'll not leave your side ever. I promise." At least, she'd not leave until she was told to do so. She had wanted to much to hear the words, but now that she was getting them it felt more like she was being stabbed in the heart. "Yeah well, if I don't listen to what they said, then you can't either. You are everything they said you aren't." she softly rattled off all the complements she could think of, beauty, talent, intelligence, kindness even if she couldn't see it in herself anymore. Blair had faith that it was still there.

When she felt Shaynes' hand go limp on her leg, and her breathing became deep and even with sleep, Blair let herself cry openly. It made her crazy that she was so messed up, and either didn't want to, or didn't know how to change it. She drove until she was tired, letting night settle over them a little bit before she found a motel. She was frustrated as hell with the clerk, not only was he rude but extremely unhelpful. she was calling bull shit on what he was claiming, but she was tired, and didn't want to go to jail for beating the hell out of the man.

She was started to see Shayne was awake again. When the younger woman had stay asleep when she stopped this time she thought she'd be able to get a room before she had to wake her up. She came to the drivers side door so not to scare her too much and tapped with the pad of her finger the usual knock. "Hey." she said softly. "I got a room, you can shower or take a bath if you wanna, and sleep in a real bed. Or if you don't feel like sleeping anymore you can watch TV." she spoke through the glass, not wanting the scare her again by just jumping in.

Shayne had a good sleep because she was with someone who cared about her. When Blair tapped on the window Shayne moved for the door and unlocked it. She got out of the car with Blair. She walked to the room with her and looked inside. She stepped in hesitantly as she shouldered her bag with her clothes in it. Shayne went and sat on the bed looking around. She looked at the tv and looked around the back for the rest of it. She wasn't aloud to watch tv. Shayne got up and pulled her hood down. She unzipped her jacket and took off the shirt she had over her tank top.

She slipped off her jeans and was down to her female boxer shorts and tank top. She folded her clothes and went to the bathroom to hide her bruises and her bones that were showing. In the bathroom she turned on the water and made it a nice temperature she took her clothes off and slipped into the water. It stung on all her cuts. She was trying not to gasp at the pain. She got a wash cloth and washed her body with the bar of soap then used the shampoo to wash her hair out. When she got out of the water it was a dark color. All the blood and dirt kinda washed away. She had brought her bag in and put on a long sleeve shirt and pajama pants.

Shayne finally walked out after she brushed out her hair. She walked over to the bed and hid her face under her hair. She looked at the remote and turned on the tv. Her eye's watched the colors flash across it. She turned it off and slipped under the covers of the bed. She looked over at blair through her wet."You staying in here with me?" She asked not wanting blair to go. She watched her with her deep blue eye's.

Blair had wanted a room with two beds, and the neosporne and bandaids the clerk had behind the counter, but he calmed he only had single bed rooms left, and that they were display only, and he'd not sell them to her. At the truck Blair had grabbed a bag too, and wished it had what she knew Shayne needed. She had a feeling that the younger woman wouldn't let her tend to her wounds, and it was made apparent when she went into the bathroom without looking at her.

When the water started running Blair went through her bag. She needed to smoke, and not caring that the room was non smoking she fired up a joint and set out a set of pills, one for herself, the other for Shayne. Her own set was simply something to knock her out. Shaynes' included an antibiotic, good pain killer, and a sleep aid. She filled the plastic wrapped cups from beside the sink and moved one to the small table by the window for herself and the beside table for Shayne with her pills.

Once she had everything ready she finished her joint and got comfortable in the chair by the window, her feet still wearing her boots in the second chair. She relaxed with her head back against the chair and her hands folded over her belly while she waited. She watched her sister as she left the bathroom, sat on the bed, turned the TV on then off, before she crawled into bed. When she was spoken to she nodded. "I promised, I'll not leave your side." she turned her head to actually look at her instead of side eyeing her and said. "There are some pills there for you on the side table, pain killer, something to help you sleep." she gestured towards her own pills so Shayne wouldn't think she was the only one taking them.

Shayne liked the smell of weed in the air. She sighed and looked at Blair."you don't have to stay on the chair. I don't bite, well sometimes maybe." Shayne joked slightly. She looked at the cup full of pills. She looked in and pulled the pills out to look at them. She had gotten good at telling what pills are what. The one she didn't recognize was the antibiotic."What's this one?" She asked holding it up. She took the others with some water. She shrugged not caring really what the pill was she put it in her mouth and swallowed it as well. She got comfy in the bed and laid back. She was staring at the ceiling. They were a long way away from Washington. They had grown up in Salem Massachusetts. They were now making there way to the west coast. She sighed and played with her clean hair.

Shayne let out a small huff and turned to her side to look at Blair. She yawned and curled up into a small ball on the bed." Can I drive tomorrow?" She asked."I don't have to,but just so your not doing all the driving." Shayne said. She fixed her hair out of her face. She watched Blair. Had she done something wrong or was Blair just mad at the devil and his mistress. Shayne wasn't sure, she kept up in a small ball on her side of the bed. She barely took up any space at all on the thing. It was like having a puppy curl up on the bed next to you.

Shayne was comfy and falling asleep after about 30 mins when the pills kicked in. Her pain had seemed to disappear, but she was getting tired. Her eye's not staying open no matter how she tried. With one last final sigh she finally fell asleep curled up in a small ball. She was actually comfortable enough she could sleep till morning.

Shayne woke in the morning and looked around. At first she was confused, where was she,was she in a dream. Then it all came back to her. She opened her eye's to see her sister laying next to her. With a tentative hand she touched her to see if she was real and this wasn't a dream. She pulled her hand back when her bony hands met flesh. She touched her again to make sure one more time. She was confused was that how flesh was supposed to feel not bony. She looked at her own arm and frowned.

"Mmkay." Blair said as she stood, she'd not wanted to make Shayne uncomfortable by sharing the bed, but being invited meant it was okay. She dropped her booted feet out of the chair, and leaned forward to unlace them enough to get them off. At the question she looked up to see what she was taking and said, "Antibiotic." Shayne was smart, so she didn't explain what an antibiotic was, or why she was giving it to her sister who was covered in sores. There was a reason why Blair had moved all the way across the country to the other coast. Not only was it so completely different than Salem, but it was as far as she could get by car without needing a passport to go through Canada to Alaska. She took her wallet and keys out of her pockets, and stuck them into her boots. Toeing off her socks she draped them over the opening of the boots and pulled her jeans off. Like Shayne her body told the story of her abuse, only hers were healed scars now. The discolored marks criss-crossed and wrapped around her thighs and lower legs, vanishing into panties pointing towards the ones that were still covered by her long sleeve tshirt.

She pulled on a pair of sweat pants and slipped between the sheets on her side of the bed, and lay on her back looking at the ceiling until she felt the bed shift as Shayne moved to her side. Blair turned her head to look at her sister as she felt eyes on her. "Sure." came the easy answer, she'd give Shayne anything she asked for. "Its bigger than you're used to, so maybe a quick, hopefully not crash course before we get on the interstate, but yeah. You can drive if you wanna." She was still afraid to touch her sister without the other woman touching her first or inviting her touch. She herself didn't like to be touched, and she didn't want to upset the other woman by being forward with sharing affection with the only person she wanted to. Despite her fear she rolled onto her side too, curled up a little herself and put a hand between them on the mattress. Shayne could take it if she wanted.

Feeling her own pills kicking in, Blair yawned and blinked the yawn tears from her eyes as she gazed at her sisters overly bony face. She was going to feed her up as best she could, it took time to stretch a stomach back out though, she knew. "Good Night dear heart." she said softly as her eyes closed and sleep came to her. She'd wanted to wrap herself around Shayne and keep her safe from nightmares, because that was all that could hurt her now. Or maybe she hoped that it would help ward off her own nightmares, that sometimes came through the drug induced sleep. For once, she actually slept peacefully.

Is something touching me? she wondered not quite awake yet when she felt a touch against her. It was brief contact so she assumed she'd imagined it and let herself drift when it came again. Someone is touching me! Her eyes snapped open and a hand flashed up to trap the hand touching her, between her body and a firm palm. The touch relaxed almost instantly when she saw Shayne laying in front of her looking at her own arm. She relaxed more completely and changed her hold to cradle her sisters bony hand in her own. She closed her eyes a moment, she had nightmares about death coming to take her sometimes, he had bony hands too. "It's okay now." she said softly, "You'll not be starved and hungry anymore, it takes time, but you'll fill out again." Blair herself had after all, Shayne could too.

Shayne went to jump back as Blair grabbed her hand. She went to move her hand away from where it was trapped, she squeaked in fear. When Blair's touch relaxed Shayne pulled her hand back quickly even though her step sister cradled her hand. She held her hand back and moved to the edge of the bed. She didn't like her hand being grabbed tightly. She watched her sister as she spoke. Shayne nods. She just held her hand away from Blair and hid into the pillow.

Shayne sighed and got up slowly and went to go to the bathroom. She used it and went to turn on the shower. She had showered last night, but she wanted to one more time before they went. She showered and looked over her bruises they were purple and blue. She ran her fingers over her arms and legs. Her skin prickled at her touch. Why had this happened to her. She hurt her body was in pain still. She sighed and got out once she had finished. She hadn't realized her lip had opened again. Shayne tried to stop the bleeding and frowned. She made her way out and rummaged through her bag for some clothes.

She pulled out sweats and a tank top. She went to change in the bathroom again and put on new clothing. She had very little to wear. So she normally wore the sweats often. She walked out again and laid on the bed looking at Blair."How long till the nightmares and flinching go away. Or even any of these cits and bruises." She asked her sister."where are we and far till we get to your house?" Shayne asked. It was the most she talked since Blair got her. She was getting comfortable around Blair. She went and curled up next to her step sister."Do we leave now? Thank you for coming back and thank you for all this." She said.

DeathToAllBetrayers

Blair cringed when Shayne squeaked and pulled away from her. She'd been trying so hard not to get that kind of reaction from her sister, and she went and screwed it up. She rolled away from her to give her some space and moved to sit in the chair again. She'd not had any nightmares tonight but she still woke with a head ache so she rooted into her bag and pulled out a cigarette case, but rather than the identical filtered ends of cigarettes, there were the irregular ends of a pack of joints. she was turning towards Shayne to offer the joint to her, only to see her closing the bathroom door. Her shoulders sagged and she sighed.

Putting the joint aside she stood and changed back into her jeans, pulling on her socks and boots again. She rubbed at her face some more trying to think. She should get Shayne something fresh for breakfast. She wanted to help her heal physically as well as emotionally but she didn't know how. Sure she could put on ointments, and bandages. But how did you heal a broken soul? Hearing the shower turn off she moved to sit back on the bed, her back against the headboard, joint in hand. She sat along the very edge in case the younger woman wanted to sit there, but not be near her.

She watched as Shayne left to get her clothes and enter the bathroom again. When she came out and lay on the bed Blair fired up the joint, hit it and passed it to the other brunette. She answered while still holding smoke so her voice sounded funny. "I'm sorry for before." she waved her hand eluding to the hand grabbing before, "I don't know, I still flinch and have nightmares." she hoped that explained a little as to why she'd grabbed her. She exhaled and inhaled so she could answer the next question. "Those I can help with a little better, some ointment 'n band aids for the cuts, bruises just take time."

When Shayne moved closer to to curl up next to her Blairs heart did this stupid little flutter she wished it'd stop doing. They passed the joint back and forth until it was gone, and Blair tried really hard not to touch her more than needed. "Mmm somewhere in New York. If we drove non stop straight there it'd take like two days depending on traffic. I don't want you to have to sleep in the truck too much, and showers are pretty great so we'll stop every night. So It'll take us like a week to get to Olympia." She shrugged a little. "We can if you wanna. It's still early enough to get breakfast from a fast food joint, and we can stop at a walmart or pharmacy if you are comfortable with it." She wanted to get her some stuff to help her outsides heal, and some more clothes for her to wear to be comfortable, but only if she was okay with it.

She nodded a little. "Of course." she said softly. She didn't want to make Shayne mad by constantly apologizing for leaving her in the first place. So she didn't say anything else about how sorry she was, how she wished it had been different, how she wished she'd been able to get it in gear faster to come and help her sooner. It was too late for all of that, and sorry just didn't cut it when you've been starving and abused.

Shayne smoked the joint as she laid out on her step sister."I understand it happens, it just freaked me out is all"she said. Shayne exhaled the smoke of the weed. She was calmer with this stuff."so it doesn't go away?" She asked. Shayne looked at her and sighed."Well that's fantastic," she said."oh well okay then"she said to Blair. She sighed leaning on Blair heavily as they smoked the heck out of the blunt.

Shayne sighed as she heard they were in new york."I want to go see new york." She said."breakfast sounds fantastic." She said."sure where ever you want to go I will go with you."said Shayne as she shook with excitement and slight cold. She didn't have meat on her bones to keep her warm enough. Shayne looked up at her sister and stretched gently. She grabbed her hand gently."Lets go." She said and tugged lightly at her hand. She was actually kinda hungry and wanted to feel better, so if they got stuff to help her cuts and bruises she wanted it.

"do we have to drive right a way to get back?" She asked her step sister as she tried to get her to move off the bed. She didn't want to hear anymore apologies. She wanted to go. Shayne gave her a small smile and tried pulling her with her. She flopped back on the bed with a small laugh. She was actually more full of life out of that house. She was still skiddish and feared other people, her family haunted her nightmares.

DeathToAllBetrayers

Blair shrugged a little. As Shayne leaned more heavily into her she elaborated. "I suppose it might. Once you heal, here." she lightly touched over her sisters heart. "I'm not there yet, so I can't promise it gets better." She wished desperately that should could though. At the mention of wanting to see New York Blair smiled a little, yeah she could see that. She smiled more when Shayne expressed the desire to eat. She was ready to jump to her feet and take their things to the truck, but Shayne grabbed her hand and tried to pull her up. It reminded her of when they were younger and Shayne wanted to go play. "Nah, plenty of time before the semester starts." she answered going dead weight on her.

Blair found herself chuckling as her sister tired to pull her off the bed, and the laugh that came from her when the smaller brunette flopped back onto the bed. She resisted the desire to roll over and tickle her. Instead she jumped to her feet then and scooped up their bags. "Well come on? Lets go?" she tried to keep a straight face but was grinning like a nut as she managed not to scoop her up and throw her over her shoulder or something else equally uncalled for.

Once in the truck she drove them to a McDonalds where she got Shayne a breakfast combo asking for everything fresh out of the grease or off the grill. No cold hashbrown or hard muffins for Shayne, no sir. Once they had her food Blair got one of the burgers from the day before and ate it as she drove them to a walmart. They ate in the truck before going into the retail monstrosity. "We should get some fruit and stuff too, fast food is food, but you need to have something healthy too." she said as she took a cart from the line inside the store and headed for the pharmacy section first.

Shayne sighed when her sister uses her dead weight. She laughed and got up. Shayne grabbed her things as she followed her step sister outside to the truck. She sat in the passenger seat and waited for her breakfast patiently. She ate what she is given happily. She was very hungry today. When her sister said she needed fruit. Shayne nodded to her sister and let her drive to Wal-Mart. They walk around the big store grabbing food snacks good fruits and vegetables.

They made there way around grabbing a few things for Shayne that she wanted. She loves her step sister for doing this for her. She got some new clothes that didn't make her look homeless. She had tried on a few things and found a few that she loved. Her sister got them for her. When they left to the truck Shayne looked around and at the sky. The sunglasses she had covered her eyes. She was in new jeans, new shoes and a shirt. She walked to the truck and looked at her sister."May I drive now please." She begged.

Shayne got to get in and drive. She showed she was fine to drive. She drove to a park and got out. It was central park she wanted to come here so long ago. She walked with Blair to the Alice in wonderland statue."Man being high for this be awesome." Shayne said and sighed. She walked holding on gently to her sister. She held her hand to keep her close and enjoy this together."what you think?" She asked her sister."Better then I have seen in books."she said

Blair was happy to see that Shayne was hungry enough to eat the entire meal, and even more so to see her actively picking out clothes, she'd been afraid she would have to pick everything out. She felt better about her supplies now, having stocked up on everything she felt they needed. The best way to put on weight was to eat right, filling her with bad food wouldn't be good for her so she was glad to see that Shayne actually picked some of the healthy foods out without being prompted to do so. Blair made sure to stay close to her sisters side, as the super store was full of people.

When they got back to the truck she sorted out what they had gotten, then stopped at the question. "Of course." she said, grabbing the bag of ice and things that should be kept cool, and putting it all in the coolers in the bed of the truck beside her mattress. Everything else went into the full size back seat of the crew cab, and she climbed into the passenger seat. Blair was prepared to be terrified of Shaynes driving, but it turned out she could handle the big truck just fine. It made her smile.

They parked at a park, and Blair grabbed a pack of smokes, her cigarette case, a lighter, and their jackets before trotting after Shayne to walk in step with her through the park. She pulled a pair of cigarettes from the pack and light them both handing one to her sister as they wondered, enjoying the weather. Blair was basking in the sun, looking for a good tree after her comment about being high. "That can be arranged." She turned and smiled, "It's beautiful." she said before offering her hand to Shayne, and pulling her into the trees. She'd spotted the one she wanted.

Blair put her back to a tree and said, "Come on, no one ever looks up." she put her hands together so she could lift Shayne up to the low branches. Once her sister was up Blair backed up a few paces, ran at the tree and up the trunk far enough that when she pushed off the tree she was able to catch the branch and pull herself up to straddle it in front of Shayne. She felt like a teenager for a moment, as she pulled the case from her pocket and pulled out a pair of joints for them and held them up for Shayne to see.

(Spartacus is crazy and bloody as hell it is on Netflix)

Shayne ate a Apple as they walked. She danced around slightly and smiled. Shayne felt free and far from her confines of her hell. She took the cigarettes and blew out smoke. She saw her sister in look of a tree. She followed her gaze and looked at the tree she didn't really smoke in trees. She shrugged why not smoke in a tree."It is very beautiful." She said. She sighed and looked at the tree her step sister was laying on.

Shayne ran over and grabbed onto the branch with Blair's help she pulled herself into the low branches. Shayne watched her climb into the tree. She laughed and smiles. She was enjoying her time. She took one of the joints that she was offered. They lit them and smoked in the tree. They stayed silent as to not get caught. When it finished. She put out the last bit and made her way to the ground. She giggled and drank from her water. She moved to the grass and started to dance around. She laughed and went to lay on her back. She watched the park around her.

Shayne looked over at Blair."Do you not wish to join me in dance?" She asked. She was being silly, but she had never been so free. She sighed and got up to dance around in the grass. Some passing musicians started to play a beat. She grabbed her sisters hand to join her. She danced around with her to the beat. She laughed and just enjoyed her time. Even people stopped to watch and dropped money at there feet. Shayne laughed and sat on the ground after a bit thanking the musicians. She picked up the money and gave them half for there services.

(I KNOW I'M SO EXCITED CAUSE I'M GONNA WATCH IT NOW THAT I'VE FINISHED ASYLUM)

Blair enjoy her joint and lay back along the branch her legs hanging over either side as she looked up through the leaves trying to see the sky through them. "No one looks up, I really don't feel like jail for the amount of bud I have on me. It's enough for a distribution charge instead of simple possession." she explained as they smoked. Blair chain smoked, and she went through a cigarette fast, but weed was different, she held it in as long as she could so it took longer to get through her joint. However when she noticed Shayne putting out the last of hers, she did the same and put their roaches in her pack before jumping down before her sister could. Blair was healthy, at least of body, and could handle the drop better than Shaynes malnourished one could. She wanted to make sure she was there in case her sister needed her.

Blair watched Shayne but gave her enough space to enjoy herself. She wasn't her sisters prison keeper, she didn't need to stay at her elbow at all times to make sure she didn't do something wrong. Brown eyes were captivated, watching the younger brunette dancing, she completely forgot about the cigarette between her fingers for a full two minutes she was so focused. When Shayne lay out on the grass, Blair moved to sit near her. She sat facing her, on leg folded on the ground the other bent up, she leaned on the upright leg and finished her cigarette. "It's good to see you free." she said softly. She didn't mean in just the literal sense, but also spiritually.

At the request to dance, the older brunette looked panicked for a heart beat before she remembered that this was Shayne. So she stood when pulled on and started to dance with her sister. She'd never been a very good dancer, but had always enjoy watching her sister dance. Now though she sort of danced, though a trained eye would see it as martial arts. It made her happy to see Shayne happy so it was enough to get her to at least try and dance. She avoided shaking hands with the Electronic Violinist who complimented her forms, by blushing and rubbing the back of her neck and muttering.

"You ready to go?" she asked her sister softly as she took a step away from the young man. "Or'd you want to stay the night in new york again?"

(pssst, just fyi, joints and blunts are different lol)

Shayne laughed and shook her head."No we can go I just wished to see this beautiful park. Before we travel to the west coast." She said. She ran over and hugged her sister. Her tight hug felt like nothing but bone to normal people."Thank you." She said and kissed her step sister's cheek. She was very great full and much happier to be with her step sister then anyone else. She watched the older woman and smile. She wrapped a small bony arm around her and started to walk back through the park. She was getting very tired now her energy wearing low.

Shayne stopped before the truck as they walked things slowed down. She looked around and she thought she saw Blair's. Step father. She grabbed onto Blair tightly. She stumbled back and hid, she started to breath in rapidly."It's him." She said. She couldn't breathe her mind racing."I can't breathe."she said to Blair. Her demeanor had changed quickly, but the PTSD and drugs in her system. They made her panic, she knew her step father was locked away. She however could not think straight. She clung to Blair her eye's darting to the spot she saw him"He was right there, the devil himself escaped from jail." She said. She wanted to run,but couldn't. Why was her mind so cruel to her.

She felt Blair move her to the truck and help her inside. Shayne shook and looked about. She swear he was there she had seen his ever burning eyes on hers. When in reality she saw a man that looked like him. She held onto Blair with all her might looking around. She had not really heard any of her step sisters words the world was still very slow and not working for her. When the world came back to her she trued to breathe again. She was breathing in quickly and out. She sighed and grabbed the blanket and hid into her sister's lap. She shook and just hid. She didn't want to talk about it. She shut her eye's tightly.

"There are beautiful places all over the country Shayne." she made a silent promise to herself to take her to as many as she could. There were a lot of parks in Olympia, and the surrounding areas. When she was hugged, she didn't feel the bones, but rather the warmth her sisters affection brought to her heart. she basked in that warmth like she had the sun before. "You're most welcome." She thought of those places she'd try and take the smaller brunette and walked with her back towards the truck. She could tell that she was getting tired, and so matched the younger womans pace, until she stopped completely.

She would have spun looking for Him, because there was only one Him that either of them worried about. She took knew the man was locked up, and wouldn't see the light of day for a very long time if ever. That didn't stop her from having her own mini panic attack which she viciously squished as Shayne clutched at her. "Shhh." she crooned and tried to get the smaller female to focus on her, it was no good. She scooped her up in her arms and let her long legs eat the distance between them and the truck. She used her key fob to unlock the doors and eased Shayne into the passenger side before sprinting around to her door and getting in locking the truck behind her. there was no way he was out, but she wasn't about to let her sister feel any more vulnerable than she had to.

She collected Shayne into her arms again and tried in vain to get her to breath, to look at her. When she saw it wasn't going to work she pressed her sisters palm carefully against the steady pulse in her own neck, and wrapped her other arm around the younger womans bony shoulders. She kept up a constant hushed words of comfort rolling off her tongue until Shayne could breath again, and pulled away from her. She let her go and let her do as she needed. when she hid her face in her lap like she had the day before Blair pulled the blanket from the back up and covered her again. "It's okay. I've got you. We're leaving now."

She started driving them away from the park, away from New York city, and away from the man who'd looked like her father.

Shayne clung to her sister's leg tightly she kept trying to stay calm. She still shook, her mind reverted back to her quite state. She reverted her mind back to being at the house. She had fallen asleep on her sister's lap. Her mind was over loaded with thoughts of her step father and his abuse. She had been beaten to for missing a spot on the floor, part she was getting to. She had run to her bathroom to clean up, the only time she was aloud to stay in her real room was so her step father could have his way.

Shayne got ready. She knew what she was supposed to wear. She sat on her bed and shook. She laid on the bed as she waited she fell asleep. She woke to hands groping her body. She smelled booze on her step father's breath. He moved her hands to the cuffs on the bed she went to fight it,but be starved she had no strength. Her hands were bound and her body limp as her step father groped her all over her body. He would kiss her and she looked away till he forced her to. He then have his way with her. After he called her many names and his sweat on her body. He spat on her when he finished and undid her hands. He called her a filthy whore and smacked her in the face for good measure.

Shayne was whimpering in her sleep. She couldn't help the nigh mare. In it she had gone to puke and clean up and get rid of the mess when he grabbed her from behind and slammed her into the mirror he went to take her again. Shayne woke with a start."NO NO NO NO." She said and looked around her. her head still in Blairs lap.

Blair drove them for a while, but then she noticed that Shayne was not sleeping well, having a nightmare. She didn't know what would help Shayne, but she did know what would help her if she had someone comfortable to do so. She pulled off the road, into a truck stop. Kept the doors locked and spoke gentle words to her sleeping sister.

"He is gone. He can not hurt you any more. You are safe now. I will keep you safe. He is gone. He will never touch you again." She did not restrain her, knowing that upset her before, instead her hand was gentle as it touched her hair lightly. She told Shayne all the opposites of what he had told them, and repeated her words like a prayer. she knew about the nightmares. she knew about the pain of the reminder of what he had done to them. What he had let his friends do to her. Knew that the dreams could make what had happened worse than it had been.

When she felt Shayne wake, her hands flew away from their gentle touches and she tried to sooth her. "Shhh, love. You are safe. He can not hurt you again. You are safe. It is okay."

Shayne had heard her sister's words in her dream, they sounded so far away like an angel was trying to get her to come to her senses. She had not even noticed the truck had stopped. Shayne lay in her sister's lap breathing heavily. She just stayed there as she clung to her sister's leg. She started hyperventilating and was trying not to cry. She couldn't help it when tears burst to her eye's and she started to sob. She looked behind her to make sure no one was there. It felt like this dream was all to fake and she wake in the chemical closet any minute now. She was clinging to Blair like someone wanted to take her or she would be dragged out of the car.

Shayne's bony body racked with sobs. She kept her arms around Blair's leg. Why her and Blair, she had begged for death many times. Maybe she had finally been beaten to death and this was her after life. Even her after life he was there harming her. She shook and finally asked what was on her mind." Am... I...dead?" She asked between sobs. She just wanted the dreams to stop wanted the nightmares to go away. She was even seeing with her eye's open. If she wasn't dead he was trying to make her mental, and she wasn't mad. Or she didn't think she was mad. Then again Alice never thought herself mad.

Shayne was shocked at her thoughts. Did she just refer to herself as Alice as In Alice in Wonderland. Well maybe she had gone bonkers after all. For those who are mad do not know it till it is to late."Am I going mad?" She asked."I do not want to be like Alice and go down the rabbit hole." She said. She was just sniffing and crying. She couldn't believe she just asked that out loud it was more a mumble for herself. Her sobs finally quited and she just lay limp in Blair's lap, no energy to sob uncontrollably any more, no energy to move and look around, and no energy to lift her body away from Blair. Not that she wanted to, she needed Blair. Blair saved her, well that's how she saw it. She needed the older woman.
