We are an objective research ship, out to look for information and the preservation of said information to use back at earth. Basically looking for new plants, minerals and species. Of course this would be useful for potential colonisation later on, but that isn't the first priority of the Lullaby. And it definitely isn't killing things.

No bioweapons, nuclear weapons or any other weapons of mass destruction. The ones that we have are only for self defence, and we can kill say a few wild animals or creatures, but not go hunting them explicitly for killing alone. Bringing back a specimen for research, obtaining food and self-defence are all valid reasons to kill something, but no things like killing out of vengeance, to eradicate or for fun.
