Futuristic Those That are Hunted

Vulcan was truly surprised that the boy still had energy and will in him to fight. Seeing him break through the glass of the cabinet and pull the tranquilizer out, he could hardly believe that he didn't severely cut his hand in the process. Then, it was almost as if time had slowed down. His self-preservation instincts kicked in immediately and his free hand shot up to catch the guy's wrist and stop his attempt to ram the syringe in his neck. He had been in too many similar situations to not be able to react.

Suddenly, Piper lunged forward, snatching the syringe out of Carter's hand and tossinng it to a nearby terrified nurse and then she swiftly brought her forerarm down on the inside of Vulcan's elbow to break his grip on Carter's collar and neck. After doing so, Piper stumbled slightly due to a small wave of dizziness before she caught herself and snarled at both Vulcan and Carter, "Break it up, both of you! Vulcan, you are not helping at all right now! You're only making things worse!" Feeling uneasy with her inability to see Vulcan on her left side, Piper kept her head on a swivel between the pair, as she waited for either to respond to her. With her amounting irritation, Piper's dragon wings shifted against her back, which caused her to wince slightly due to the stitched wound on her right wing.

While the guy's punch didn't do much, the hit that Piper landed on his arm was a whole different matter. Even exhausted and injured, the girl was a fighter. Among the best he had met. On top of all, Vulcan was surprised to feel that his shoulders and ribs hadn't quite healed yet, even after the overdose of healing serums. It has only been, how long, three or four hours at maximum since his... pleasant meeting with Larassa after all. It would take at least a couple more for them to heal completely. He hissed as some of the pain returned and in this, he lost his grip on the man's collar and neck. Hearing her words, he turned his head around to face her, a mean and disagreeing look on his face. Oh, how he wasn't in a mood to explain her that this wasn't the first time this guy had caused trouble. He was in even less of a mood to question this stubborn mule. It was late, the sun was setting and it was slowly getting dark, he was tired and just wanted this horrible day to end. And besides, it's not like he had gotten any orders to do this from Kytha. Until then, it didn't really concern him all that much. He snorted and looked back at the guy. "I'm not done with you." he growled darkly and brushed past him, walking down the hallway towards the exit.

Forest

The girl drank the water quickly but then she saw the fight. Still though, she was in no mood to interfere in any way. Her eyes began tearing up as she remembered the voices and the screams. She slowly flipped her legs over the bed and onto the ground. The nurses began to try to make her lay down but she was reluctant. "I'm fine. I just need to go to my cell and get some rest. Please."

The dragon

As soon as the door swung open, the little dragon began to fly past the human in a flurry. It began flying up and around the room before landing on a rafter on the roof. She looked down at the two humans and shot a warning fireball in front of each and hissed violently. If they tried anything funny they would get a fireball to the face.

Tucker immediately reacted to the dragon's fireballs, as he disappeared in a flash and then reappeared a few feet away with Matthew at his side. Narrowing his eyes at the dragon, Tucker then shouted, "Yeah, screw you, too! I should've left your ungrateful dragon butt in that cage!" Irritated by the dragon now and not feeling safe with it in here with himself and Matthew, Tucker glanced sideways at Matthew and then said hurriedly, "We should try and get the dragon back to Kytha first. Preferably before it hurts us or anyone else." Thinking about it for a moment, Tucker then had an idea and said quickly to Matthew, "Keep the dragon distracted. I'm going to bring Kytha here." This said, Tucker left in a flash, leaving a small gust of wind in his wake.

Matthew held in a screech as the dragon flew out of the cage and then shot fire at them once again. He was thankful that Tucker was always there to protect him from incoming attacks. Still, he decided that he would thank him when they got the job done in one piece. But his gratitude instantly evaporated when the other suddenly told him to keep this creature occupied while he got Kytha here. "Oh, so now we bring Kytha here?!" he complained as this had been his suggestion in the first place but Tucker was already gone. Instead, Matthew focused his attention on the angry dragon. "Good dragon... Nice dragon..." he stuttered and presented his shaking hands to it in a defensive matter, showing it that he had to weapon or intentions to harm it. He could make himself invisible at any point but that wouldn't stop a fire ball flying towards him. Now he was only hoping that these suits were truly fireproof.

Tucker soon appeared in a flash at Kytha's side, back in the plaza. Skidding to a halt, Tucker then said hurriedly, "Ky, your dragon isn't listening to us at all and he's only going to make things worse for us. Can you come with me and convince the stupid thing to stop attacking us?" Holding his hand out to Kytha, Tucker then began waiting for her response and for her to take his hand. They needed to hurry up before the dragon did anything to Matthew or possibly even one of the other animals present in those cages.

Carter inhaled strongly as soon as the Therian had let go of him. He didn't quite understand what the Therian said since Carter's ears were ringing so hard. He was just grateful for the annoying dragon girl who surprisingly stopped the man. He leaned to a wall, trying to catch his breathe. Looking at the dragon-fox girl, he was about to thank her until he heard the girl he rescued get up and demanded to get back to her cell. Somehow, he was irritated at her that she didn't even thank him for the rescue. Forgetting his supposed gratitude to the dragon-fox girl, he looked at the girl with a slightly angered face, still trying to catch his breathe, coughing hardly. "Hey, if you're not going to thank me for what I've done, at least tell me your name?"

Once out of the medical bay, Vulcan looked up at the metal dome, more specifically at the view they kinda had through the huge hole Piper had made in the side of it. One couldn't see the sun but the sky and the little clouds there were, were painted crimson, like blood. Indeed, much blood had been spilled on that day. So much had happened. So much had changed, for good and bad. Their lives would never be the same again. And this was just the beginning. Vulcan began walking towards the dorms, wanting to rest and end this day once and for all before anything else bad happened. He looked down at the burn marks on the pavement Xander's fire had left. His sensitive nose could still catch the scent of blood on it, even after it had been burnt so intensely. He looked up again after a short moment only to see Kytha and Tucker in the plaza, right next to the entrance to the dining hall. Not wanting to work with the speedster again who had already left him standing once and not really wanting to be in Kytha's way at the moment either, he tried walking straight for the sleeping quarters and hopefully stay unseen by the two. Of course, he could easily sneak past them if he took the long way round but he simply was too tired, cramped up and his mood was at a zero so he just let it be.

Avi sat at his desk, tapping his finger on the wooden surface. When Rosalyn was late in checking in he knew something bad had happened to his remaining daughter.. It was good she told him where she was heading before hand but when she told him who she was traveling with, he decided to look the by up. Hayen Pierce. The most feared gifted out there. I wonder why he even bothered leaving the agency. He had sent a four man team out to retrieve her. Just because his intel told him that one of the prisons in Germany got taken control by some rebels, he highly doubted it was Rosalyn. He knew his daughter well enough that she wouldn't trust those there so easily. Avi knew that not all gifted were exactly innocent and he had been in the States for so long that she probably would have gotten used to just not trusting anyone that she didn't know about. Avi's thoughts ran back to the ream he sent out. Zachary Chase was in charge of the squad. He wondered how well the kid was getting along with the other members, and by other members he meant one in particular. Avi didn't want to send that other one out of the country till the war actually started but even if he didn't send that man out with Zachary's squad, he would have left to go after her anyway. "Oh Rose, you sure do know how to pick them." Avi sighed and leaned back into his chair. He should have gone home to the rest of his family hours ago but he was waiting for that one phone call from Zachary, telling him they were getting close to the boarder or at least check in and let him know where they are.

The dragon

When she saw the door to the room swing open the dragon raced towards it. By the time it was half way there the door was half way closed and it couldn't stop or turn around. Instead, it hit it head on with such force it made a dent in the metal. Whimpering, the dragon fell to the floor and crawled into a corner before flopping down and covering its nose in its claws. It was done. It had no fight left in it.

Kytha

Kytha looked at tucker and sighed. "Of course. She's probably just scared because she is so used to being tricked. Let's go." Kytha took Tucker's hand and looked at him softly. "Thank you for doing this. It means a lot."

Tucker shrugged and said with a cocky grin, "I try." He then swept Kytha up into his arms, bridal style, and then there was a concussive sound in the plaza, as Tucker sprinted back to the labs, only to skid to a halt just outside of it and frown at the sight of the closed door. When did he close it? He'd never even touched the door before he'd left. Maybe his funnel had brought the door slamming behind him. Sighing, Tucker set down Kytha on her feet and then began knocking on the door before shouting out, "Matt, you in there? I've got Kytha with me and we both are locked out!"

Matthew didn't expect the little creature to fly straight for the door like that and seeing it hit its head in it almost made him feel sorry for it. However, he immediately felt relieve, seeing it crawl into a corner and seemingly hide. He was sure it was going to claw his face off if he came close to it but at least now it looked rather calm, even if probably in some pain. "Don't worry, little fella, your master will be here soon." he told it and made a couple of steps back, wanting them both to feel more secure. A couple of moments later, he could suddenly hear Tucker on the other side. He had completely forgotten about securing the door. He carefully walked over to it, making sure to stay out of the little creature's personal space and unlocked the door with his watch, holding it open only so much that they could slide through. "That was fast." he said with a smile.

Kytha didn't seem to have noticed him, so Vulcan simply continued towards the dorms. He wasn't of much help at the moment anyways with that non-functioning watch of his. He wondered where Xander was off to, seeing him charge out of the dining hall like that, soon to be followed by Kytha. However, also noticing that the girl wasn't all that angry, he assumed it wasn't something to be worrying about. They would have plenty of time to talk later. Vulcan entered the dorm building and climbed up the stairs to the fourth floor where their room was. He didn't really remember locking it and since Xander was kinda in the hospital till now, he just assumed it was open. He was only hoping he wouldn't have to throw some uninvited guests out. Walking down the hallway, he unintentionally stopped in front of Amelie's room and pressed his hand against the wood, feeling her smell on everything she had touched. Snapping out of it, he snorted in annoyance and continued on to their own room that was only a couple of doors from the other. Turning the doorknob, he wasn't surprised to indeed find the door open and luckily no one inside. There was sure to be a spare key somewhere. He looked around the room once again, again feeling that lovely, icy fresh smell... it was like perfume for his nose, a divine aroma... "God damn you!" he suddenly growled and slapped himself on the side of the head, wanting to shake off all that feeling. Feeling his burnt hair with his fingers, he pulled the scalpel out of his pocket and went into the bathroom to finally do what he had intended to do now almost three days ago. He looked over his messy jet black hair in the mirror for a moment to determine the damage before beginning to cut the burnt ends of it. Realizing that it was worse than it looked at first sight, he had to almost shave the sides of it and give himself a bit of a better look than that of a stupid seven year old boy that had just cut his own hair. Looking at himself now, he almost couldn't recognize himself. He had always kept his hair rather long because Amelie had loved to play with it and now... he was forced to leave everything in the past. It was harder than he had thought it would be. He moved all the hair from the sink to the dustbin and washed his head afterwards to get rid of all the remaining itching hairs, brushing his hair back afterwards to give it a bit of a more acceptable shape. Then, he finally headed for the door, wondering how long he had been in there and if Xander was there as well.

(Oops sorry if I made it sound like that. It was for my other character that I have that is going with Zachary. You will find out who he is eventually ;D )

(What are you talking about and can't you take this conversation to the private conversation as opposed to in the middle of the RP itself?)

The helicopter landed at the roof of the camp. He and his squad began to make their move. Zachary called the Prime Minister and tell him that he is already there. After that, he produced a purple liquid of poison to melt their passage way down. It took a little time for him to melt it then after a few minutes they broke there way in. They used their equipment to reach the ground. Then they began to search for Rosalyn. While searching, he saw prison cells that are open. He managed to take a look then suddenly he heard footsteps coming toward their direction. They immediately hide then Zachary take a peak and he saw a guard holding a prison keys. He followed him quietly then he grabs his knife and put a poison liquid in it. After that he stabs the guard at the neck then he grabs the prison keys immediately. The guard died from being poisoned then Zachary and his squad hide the body quickly and they continued on searching.

Xander arrived back at his private quarters in the dorms, still seething over having been told to work alongside Kytha. That girl had let a sadistic serial killer kill hundreds of people with the bat of an eye. He'd never work for her or work alongside her. Not in a million years. Opening the door to his room, Xander then quietly closed it behind himself and looked up in time to hear and see the bathroom door open to reveal...Vulcan, who had apparently cut his hair recently. Surprised, Xander didn't say anything at first until he finally was grinning and said to Vulcan, "Nice haircut, mate. Though I recall our fight being a draw so I don't think you had to cut it." Thinking about haircuts brought the idea of cutting his dreadlocks to mind, but Xander quickly dismissed such thoughts. They didn't really get in his way and he didn't have much of a reason to cut them anyhow. Now, why had Vulcan cut his own hair?

Vulcan walked out of the bathroom and wasn't too surprised to find Xander just entering the room as well. Hearing his statement about his new haircut and the reason for it, he gave him a bit of an unbelieving look. "You really didn't notice how burnt it was?" This said he suddenly remembered that his buddy had after all woken up from coma only a couple of hours ago. His burnt hair was probably the last thing he would have noticed at that moment. He gave him a small wave with the hand, signaling that a change of subject would be a good idea. Walking over to the lower bed, which was his, he picked up the assault rifle he had taken back from the plane and leaned it against the wall nearby. Then, just as he walked back to the bed and sat down, he noticed that his pillow was gone. He remembered that he had used it and Xander's to sooth the pain in his leg. Not that the lack of one bothered him all that much, having slept out in the streets or on the floor of the gas station for most of his life. He just assumed the other wouldn't quite feel the same about it. As much as Vulcan didn't want to go into that room where Amelie used to reside, he was drawn to it in a way. Perhaps this was going to be the reason he needed to go there. "I'll be back in a bit." he said as he was standing up from the side of the bed and heading for the door.

Hearing the mention of Vulcan's hair being burnt, Xander merely shrugged in response before saying, "I suppose I never noticed, no. It must've been really bad for you to have cut it though." Watching Vulcan moving himself around the room, Xander frowned, as she felt like something were off about his friend. The way he'd waved off the subject and then silently moved things around a bit before deciding to suddenly leave the room. Before Vulcan could make it to the door, Xander abruptly grabbed his arm and then said quietly to Vulcan, "Hey, you okay, mate? You seem...off." Furrowing his brows, Xander watched Vulcan's face for any sign of what could be bothering him, hoping that he'd just be upright and truthful about it with Xander, though he doubted it'd be that easy. Especially with Vulcan.

When Xander grabbed his arm, Vulcan instinctively let out a small growl but he was quickly calm again and was staring at the floor, unsure how to answer his question. After a moment, he looked up at Xander's face once again. "We'll talk later." he said in a monotone voice, mixed with a quiet warning snarl, and attempted to pull his arm out of his grip and get out of the room quickly before the other decided to say something else or hold him back. He knew he couldn't be angry with anybody except himself, especially with the only friend he had left. But was it really showing? That something was truly off? It was obviously the case.

Instinctively, Xander let go of Vulcan when he told him to basically drop the subject and practically growled at him. Frownign at Vulcan, Xander then said, "Whatever, mate. I'm here for you if you need me." Shrugging, Xander then turned away from Vulcan and headed for the bathroom with the intention of taking a shower. After everything that had transpired so far, Xander definitely felt like a shower was overdue. Entering the bathroom, Xander soon was in the shower and could no longer hear anything said outside of the bathroom unless it were shouted at him.

The moment he was let go of, Vulcan swiftly opened the door and walked out into the hallway. He of course heard Xander's words but didn't say anything, letting the door close behind his back on its own. He felt bad for being so cold and mean to the only person left that was trying to help him find a solution to a personal problem of his. They would definitely talk afterwards. About all the recent events. Vulcan walked down past the couple of doors before stopping in front of Amelie's door. He assumed it was locked but he tried anyways, only to confirm his expectations. He made a step back to bring his leg up and throw a kick at the wood, breaking the door off its hinges and watching it fall loudly to the ground. Looking inside the room, there was an instant shiver that ran down his back. He couldn't make a step toward it for almost a minute before he finally inhaled and exhaled deeply and slowly walked inside. Wanting to have some time on his own in that room, he lifted up the door and leaned it against the frame, only so much so it would stay up. Then he turned around again and quickly looked around the small apartment. There was Alpha's bed that didn't really smell like her for some reason. She probably didn't use it too much. He walked over to Amelie's... and sometimes his bed, pulled the two pillows to the side as to not forget about them and then sat down on the side of it, taking in all of the smells and sights in that seemingly empty room. After no more than a couple of minutes, he stood up again and walked over to the writing desk. She hadn't had time to get anything so everything was still the way she had left them. His fingers ran over the items there that was her brush, a hair band and some pen. His hand slid to the small drawer to the side and opened it, only to reveal a small personal computer there. He didn't know she had one so he was obviously quite surprised. He pulled it out and placed it on the desk, lifting the monitor up and turning the device on. As expected, it required a password and a fingerprint scan to access the files on it so he closed it again. If that thing's security system was installed by Alec, there was no way he would be able to hack it. Vulcan continued to look around the room, looking inside some of the other drawers, inside the closet and even under the beds. Finding nothing else of interest, he picked up the laptop and the two pillows, moved the door to the side again and headed back for his own room.
