Futuristic Those That are Hunted

Amelie thanked him and got in. Having never been in this city Amelie couldn't wait to actually sight see. Hearing the word assassinated Amelie's head snapped towards the driver. "Looks like he was using the building as a black-market - operation ground for the underdogs." Why was I not informed of this? She did work for the government, even if she was in a different division, she deserved to know if something like that was in the area. After Vulcan shut the man up she took this time to look out the window, watching buildings pass. After a few minutes she looked ahead and saw the park. I wonder what's so special about this park? He seemed very excited about it.

"I can't promise you anything, Kytha. We're just working together for a small period of time against a common enemy and then I won't need you after that. Which means, after we're done with the gov, I can kill you and that little kid if I ever wanted to. And as for your boyfriend, he's already betrayed us. More accurately, he's already betrayed YOU. Your pulling off too much weakness, Kytha... too much affection for your boyfriend who had instead joined the hunters rather than helping you with the rebellion. That's what makes you weak, it gives enemies the advantage to strike while you're vulnerable." Hayden tried to lower and calm his voice, yet he couldn't. "HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO CREATE A REBELLION IF YOU YOURSELF CAN'T ADMIT THAT VULCAN HAS LEFT YOU TO DIE! YOU'RE JUST GOING TO GET THE INNOCENT BOY KILLED BECAUSE OF YOUR IMPOSSIBLE PLANS, KYTHA...!" Hayden finally stopped and breathed heavily, then sighed and looked at the little kid, Toron. "I'm sorry..." Hayden said with the most ashamed voice he ever had.

He sat on a chair near Kytha, "So... what's cooking?"

The two step out of the cab and after Amelie paid the man they started walking towards their destination. "The park is nothing special really. But it's big and I often liked to come here... after work." South park was the largest green area in the city. Many people would come to relax after work or to practice sports. In the beginning there was a hothouse with a large flower exhibition right next to it and following the main path. A little further was a summer reading room, as well as playing fields for children, tennis, basketball and a football field at the edge of the park. The main path lead them to a large lake with ducks, swans and waterhens. Some people were feeding them bread crumbs or just looking at them. The children were especially amazed by the large white swans with their long necks and elegant posture. But when the animals sensed the wolf nearby they all scattered. People were much easier to fool then these guys. They continue their trek up the path that leads them further and further into the woods, less people were visible, they could hear birds chirping much more often, from time to time there was a painted stone along the route serving as orientation. Around halfway Vulcan turned right and started making his way through the bushes, pushing branches aside in order for Amelie to pass without the need to crawl. Soon they arrived at a clearing, an old oak tree in the middle of a small meadow. "I really like this place. No one knows about it so no one comes here." He touched the bark of the hundred year old tree and sat down in the grass, leaning his back on the thick stem, looking up in the sunny sky and listening to the sounds of nature.

She understood that. A person with one of their life styles needed a place that they could be able to relax without a care in the world and to relax after some stressful work. Amelie was kind of in awe looking around at the park and she was trying hard to hide it. After all its kind of embarrassing for someone of her stature to be seen playing around at a park. Passing by the lake she felt a small smile form on her lips seeing people, families, having fun with nature. This is what she was trying to protect. She knew that not all gifted where bad but then there were those, like Hayden, who's gift could kill hundreds of people in an instant. It was human nature to crave power and those with gifts could achieve that.

Seeing the animals scatter she glanced up at Vulcan. "It must be hard if every animal you meet runs for you. I mean that's only if you ever wanted a pet or something." Following him up the trek Amelie was glade her body was in shape because she would not have wanted to do this otherwise. Seeing him turn to the right he started to go through bushes and Amelie almost stopped there. ~Where are we going?~ When they got to the clearing Amelie couldn't believe her eyes. "It's beutiful." Her voice was barely above a whisper. Her eyes couldn't stop look in no around at all the flowers and the on tree in the middle. "Why would you share something like this with me?" She asked as she took a spot on the ground next to him. "I'm an agent who practically forced you to join me so you could save that girl." Amelie wondered who that girl was and what she meant to him. She was also curious to what her gift was. No she had to stop thinking about work. ~He was kind enough to take me here. I should enjoy it more.~ She took off the coat she was always wearing. Underneath she had on the tank top she wore last night. Since it was white it didn't make her skin look as pale as it really was, but her hair did. Amelie scooted back to lean against the old tree. Closing her eyes she felt her shoulders lower as her body relaxed under the sun.

"Because why not. Do you like it?... And you didn't force me to do anything. It was my own choice to join the government - one of the few times I get to make my own decision. And that girl. She's very dear to me. I would do anything to protect her." Vulcan said as he lied down in the shade of the tree crown, seeing Amelie undress her long black agent coat and sit beside him - relaxed, finally looking like she was enjoying herself. Vulcan thought about Kytha, imagining her in his head, her smile, her deep oceanic eyes, and hoped she was alright. He wanted to see the young gifted again so bad, to hold her in his arms, only for a single moment, but visiting her now would just lead the government to her doorstep. No, no contacts, no visits. Only memories. Oh, wise old tree, you've seen so much of this world. Won't you give me an advice?

"Don't you have someone who you would gladly die for?"

Amelie felt a ping of pain in her chest of the way he felt for the girl. ~what is this?~ She opened her eyes again when he spoke. "Of course I do. It's the reason I do what I do. I have a twin brother to worry about. His gift in the hands of the government isn't exactly something I want. He was my best friend..." Amelie clenched her fists. "He doesn't even know if I'm a live or night." A soft smile fell on her lips. "It's like I'm a guardian angel if you think about it."

Vulcan sighed and put his hands behind his head for support. "Sometimes it's better to be dead in the eyes of your loved ones, than to give them a reason to go looking for you. They will always want you back." He made a short pause, but then suddenly started laughing "Look at us. we're supposed to be the weapons in the hands of the government, follow orders without question and at the same time we both have some gifted we want to protect from our masters. Ironic, isn't it. Like two guns trying to find the reason for which they shoot."

"Allia Midsummer." She politely shook the boy's hand, finding the need to share at least her name with her new acquaintance. He still hadn't asked his question but didn't have much of a chance either as a loud voice interrupted the forest's silence. Betrayal, rebelion, death - great misfortune was sure to follow judging by the words. Allia turned her attention from the newly appeared man back to Toron without letting her concern for the younger show.

"Friends of yours?

"I made my choice when I was 11. I don't hate my job but an 11 year old shouldn't have had to make a choice like that." Amelie pauses for a minutes trying to get her thoughts together. "Do you mind if we stop talking about loved ones and work? I just want to relax." Instinctively her hand that wasn't near Vulcan went up like it I was placed on something. Then ice started pouring out and the wolf took form laying down. When it was completed, the wolf's head was laying on her lap and her hand was on its head. "Sorry...I'm used to it being just us. Usually he's my only company." Wolf nuzzled in closer to her.

"Sure." Vulcan watches her as she forms her icy creature again. He was laying on his back and now turned to the side to have a better view. There was something very mysterious about Amelies wolf and he couldn't quite understand how it worked. It behaved like its master, followed her will, but was it something trapped inside of her or a clone of sorts. He had a though. Hmm. Why not? "How about another training session?" He turns and drops in a playful bow, his chest low to the ground, front legs outstretched, rear end up, tail wagging invitingly, mouth open with his tongue exposed, brightly eyeing Amelies wolf pet. She seemed depressed so why not liven her up a bit. They were all by themselves so no one would see.

The wolf's had perked up at the sight of the other wolf. Amelie's eyebrow quirked up. Seeing her ice wolf get up she had an idea. A smirked played across her face. "Sure why not. If you win you can get one kiss, but there is a catch. You will be fighting my wolf and not me." She didn't particularly want to move from her spot. The wolf's icy ears perked up at this. Usually the creature was meant for tracking but she used him in a fight every once in a while. "He looked weak before but that is because you shot him with a gun. Now it should be a fair fight." The wolf walked out away from it's master leaving an icy trail where it stepped. That was a down fall when it came to tracking but in a fight random spots of ice can cause people to make mistakes.

After hearing that, Vulcans posture changed immediately He stood on all four again, his head lowered to the ground, snarling at his opponent viciously and slowly moving to the side in order to give the two of them some space and not involve Amelie in any way. Then he started circling the ice wolf. In a fight among humans it was better to let your opponent strike first and if you can, predict his move and use it to your advantage. In this case however you had to act and end the fight quickly. Wolves had heavy and large teeth, with a jaw strength that could easily break open and crush bones with only a few bites. His was no different, neither was his opponent, so he had to watch out for that animals teeth as well. It could be summoned over and over again, but he couldn't. Vulcan charged at the creature, jaws wide open, trying to bite into its neck.

The wolf shifted it's boy around so it always had it's eyes on Vulcan. When Vulcan charged at it Amelie sent a thought into the wolf's head. Wait for as long as you can before dodging. The wolf waited and at the last second moved to the side. Form the angle Amelie was at her wolf looked like he was turned at an awkward angle. She wanted her wolf to win just to show that she was strong but at the same time she didn't. The wolf felt her emotion and hesitated for a second before turning it's head to bite Vulcan.

The wolf dodged his attack, stepping aside, then turned around and dug his teeth right behind his shoulder, causing Vulcan to squeal. The wound had been stitched mere hours ago after all. He shook the pain off and turned around as well as he could - wolves weren't as agile as dogs, simply because of all the muscles gathered around their necks, and bit into the opponents neck, getting a mouthful of fur. They were stuck. Vulcan pulled back, he had to get away from that grip, or the other one would push him down to the ground.

Xander wandered down the street, walking almost aimlessly as he lit himself a smoke, holding up the cigarette to his fingertip, which promptly burst into a small flame. He then put his hand down while he smoked and wondered if he'd run into anyone at some point today. Nothing had really happened yet and he was really hoping for some action.

Amelie flinched at the sound of Vulcan's squel. ~keep a hold of him.~the creature felt the fluctuations of her emotions and loosened it's grip but it tried to push him to the ground either way. "Probably going to need to re stitch that wound..." She mumbled.

She hissed in anger as he spoke. She dropped the pan harshly on the stove, glaring at him darkly. "I swear to god I will kill you if you ever threaten me or Vulcan or that boy EVER AGAIN!" She yells. "Deer." She says now pissed off. She finishes cooking the deer and puts it on 3 plates. She puts stir fry veggies on the plates also and gives him one. She watches as he sits down at the table and begins eating. She starts walking outside with the other two plates. "Ongoing to eat outside. Toron is out there so I'm going to call him to eat." She says and closes the door behind herself. She walks to where toron was but doesnt see him. Panic grows in her chest. "Toron? Toron!!" She says and almost dropping the plates. She runs around and looks off the edge of a steep hill to see him talki to an unknown woman. She runs down the hill. "Toron! Who is that? Why are you down here?"

Toron looks at her. L"nice name." He says and hears a car which he turns around to see a car pulling up to the house. Must be that guy... "Mm... Don't really know the guy but I feel like I've known that girl since I was a child..." He says and just then ky runs down the hill asking questions. "Whoa ky calm down. I hit her with a rock by accident and came down to say sorry!" He says and pro texts the girl stretching his arms out to cover her.

The wolf loosened its grip. Just what Vulcan was waiting for. He arched his back and pulled hard, teared himself away from its jaws, leaving it with a lot of the shedding hair in its mouth. Can't believe I'm thankful for the shedding season. He too loosened his grip but only to adjust his position and quickly bite again into the others neck, just behind the skull, working his jaws, deepening. Fur can't save you now, my friend.

Castiel lowered himself to the ground, his back against a tree. A sigh escaped his lips as he looked around at the sky. "Beautiful day, yet a boring one." He shook his head, trying to think of something to do, but not coming up with any ideas. He pulled out his knife that he always kept strapped to his belt and began to stab it into the dirt a few times before cleaning it and sheathing the small blade.

Amelie's eyes narrowed. Curse that empathy link. As Vulcan's bite pierced deeper and deeper the ice around the neck it started to crack and then the wolf shattered. Amelie started clapping slowly. "Congrats, you hit a weak point." Amelie stood up and brushed her pants off. Walking over to him she wanted to check out the wound her wolf re opened. "If you turn human again I can put a patch of ice on it till we get back to the inn. Or if you want to stay in wolf form I can do that too." She patted his head.

Vulcan quickly spat out the ice that was in his mouth when the creature shattered. He had severed the spinal cord it seems. When Amelie came closer and patted him on the head all the pain disappeared and he affectionately pressed his nose into her palm. Then he shifted back, her hand in his. He quickly lets go, slightly blushing. "I couldn't possibly walk around in public like that, now could I?" Vulcan felt a sting in his arm and looked at his shirt. A small taint of red was appearing on the sleeve of the white cloth. "Damn", he muttered under his nose "Well, I don't know if it's better to have a man running around looking as if he's butchered someone or a wolf on a leash. I'll let you decide."

(I think they will)

Amelie smiled softly at him when he leaned into her touch. A blush appeared on her face when he suddenly turned human and her hand was in his. When he pulled his hand away she lifted up his sleeve to look at the wound. "Well you can turn back to being a wolf or we can rip off the sleeve and wrap it." She placed her hand on it and a small patch of ice went over it and pulled the sleeve pack over it. "It doesn't look that bad though but first." She leaned up and gave him a light peck on the cheek. "That's for beating my wolf." She quickly turned around to pick up her coat and put it on.

The itching and pain around the wound quickly started to go away as her ice covered the spot. "Oh, well. That shirt was going in the trash anyways.", he said and grabbed the edge of the sleeve. But before he could do anything more than that Amelie kissed his softly on the cheek and quickly pulled away. So she wasn't joking after all? Vulcan was glad she turned around to put her coat back on, for he was smiling like a fifth grader. He had to scratch his face in order to shake it off and got back to ripping the sleeve off. It was harder than it looked but eventually the threads tore. Vulcan wrapped it around the ice that was already starting to melt and tightened the knot with the help of his teeth. "There's a shortcut that leads much faster back to the streets.", he said and walked towards the wood, again, holding the branches of the thick bushes to the side so that they wouldn't slap Amelie in the face when they were released. Usually he would walk through them in his beastly form, easily crawling underneath but this time he had a companion. And he wasn't complaining.

Xander kept walking and smoking until he sighted a man up ahead by a tree. Not recognizing him, Xander started to head towards him, intrigued by this person and kind of hoping that he was gifted and not an agent. Xander was dying to get some action finally.
