Verena
Devil woman
When Ivan saw the silhouettes get near and recognizes only Kytha his heart stood still. What could've happened? Where was Vulcan? He watches as Kytha and a strange boy walk into the hideout and immediately jumps to his feet to follow them. She owed him an explanation. After hearing her answer he calms down and sighs.
"Always looking for trouble. You are aware that he does all of this for you, are you? To protect you. He will offer you security, a new ID. You will be hunted no more... Your rebellion is a bad idea but Vulcan would never forgive me if I throw you out."
He goes into the basement, grabs an old suitcase from the armory, brushes the dust off and starts packing his things - clothes, shoes, documents and money, a phone, a tea pot with a heater and finally he takes a hunting shotgun in one hand, his luggage in the other. Ivan goes back upstairs, loading everything in the back of the van along with five large oil canisters - he owned a gas station after all. When he finishes doing that, he turns around to look at Kytha.
"You know what's funny? I've spent years here, babysitting that grown boy, and I haven't seen anything from the beauties of this country. I wish to travel a bit, see the Grand Canyon, the Niagara Falls, spend the last years of my life in peace and quiet. Wouldn't be much help to you anyways."
He climbed into the driver seat and starts the engine.
"Everything you find here is yours to take... You take care of yourselves, hmm? And please think your decision over. If you still choose to start this war - don't kill him. He still loves you. You are like a little sister to him, his only family."
Ivan smiles and winks to Kytha one last time, then drives off. The sun was just rising and the weather was going to be good - what a nice day for new beginnings.
