Futuristic Those That are Hunted

Amelie took this time to study their movements. She liked knowing hat her partners are able to do. Thinking back on it she hadn't really fought along side Vulcan a lot. ~This is a good thing then.~ Watching Xander use his flames as a punch instead of his actual fist made her think if she could be able to do that. Amelie could learn a lot from him, after all he was an elemental like her.

Vulcan blocked the fireballs flying from his right side with his left arm and shoulder, which were in guard, and although his suit protected him from the damage he felt the wave of heat over his face, as if sun-burnt. It made him shake his head a little and blink to make sure his vision wasn't damaged by any way, quickly pulling his attacking hand back into guard. It took him a moment to realize Xander had enveloped himself in his fire cloak, trying to regain his vision and balance. If they weren't standing on an asphalted area he would probably be throwing sand at him. But he needed to think fast. It wouldn't be long before the fire-shifter was back in shape and returned the hit, most likely with fire - something Vulcan couldn't dodge. At the same time he needed to stay away from the flames. There was a belief that if one was fast enough to stick his hand in fire and pull it away one wouldn't get burnt. He just hoped this would work and if not he would simply get burnt, hopefully not catching on fire. He wondered for a second if Xander could extinguish fires but decided to leave that for later. Vulcan had just enough reach for his next attack - a front push kick, directed at his solar plexus. His upper body would be leaning slightly backwards, avoiding the flames from reaching his head, while he would hit with the heel of his boot and quickly pull his leg back again. If he was able to hit, he would knock him back and push the air out of his lungs. Fire lived off of oxygen after all. Nevertheless, Vulcan wasn't throwing the kick that hard or he could break his bones or damage internal organs.

Xander quickly regained his balance and got into somewhat of a square stance, shaking his head to clear his vision just in time to see Vulcan's kick striking him in the abdomen. Doubling over and stumbling backwards, Xander gasped and began choking for a few seconds as he struggled to regain his breath. Heavily distracted now, the flames dissipated off of his body and Xander forced himself to take a shaky, deep breath before he stood upright and got back into a square stance. He was going to need to toughen up if he was really going to take this serious and he was definitely not taking this serious enough yet. Xander quickly bounded to the right side of Vulcan, also gaining a few feet of distance away from him. Coming to an abrupt halt, Xander swung his right foot and leg out at Vulcan, clearly not aiming to hit him with his foot, but with the fire whip that formed from the movement. If the hit struck home on Vulcan's mid-right backside, then he'd definitely have at least a first degree burn as a result and would be in pain from such a strike since it was that of a whip.

When his kick hit, Vulcan was somewhat surprised it actually worked without him getting burnt. As he was getting back in his stance, intending to continue throwing hits at him Xander recovered and made a wide circle around him, creating more distance between them than Vulcan was comfortable with. He knew something made of fire was going to come at him. Before he could turn around or jump to the side and out of the way a whip of fire hit him right across the back, causing him to yelp out in pain and arch his spine back, losing his guard. It was hurting like Hell, not only from the whip striking his back but also from all the heat that came with it. He had been tortured with whips and heated irons before but never the two combined into one. Vulcan bit his lip, causing it to bleed and quicken the adrenaline flowing into his head that was helping him ignore the pain. He spun around, hoping he hadn't lost too much time with recovering from the hit. His back was hurting to be able to stand upright properly so he had to lean down, knees bent. He was standing very low to the ground but this way he also gave his opponent a smaller target to hit, at the same time protecting his vital areas. He charged at Xander's legs, attempting to perform a double leg takedown. If he was able to catch both or even just one of his legs he would effortlessly lift him up and throw him to the ground back first. From there he could be raining hits and kicks at him. Worst mistake one could make in a fight is fall to the ground.

When Vulcan cried out in pain Amelie gasped and grabbed Alpha's hand squeezing it. Alpha looked up at her and saw worry written all over he face. She looked back at Vulcan and then Amelie. "You really care about him don't you?" Amelie removed her hand from hers before nodding slightly. "Don't worry sis.. I can heal anything. It'll be like he never got hit." Amelie didn't say anything. Her eyes intently watching Vulcan.

Xander quickly recovered from striking out at Vulcan and was already back in a square stance when Vulcan charged. Taken by complete surprise at such a move, Xander dove to the side only to find that Vulcan had grabbed one of his ankles mid-dive. Yelping, Xander quickly found himself on his back with Vulcan throwing countless punches at him. Quickly pulling his arms up to defend his face, Xander already could feel the black eye forming and his lip bleeding. Closing his eyes and muttering a curse, Xander quickly engulfed himself in flames again, hoping to drive Vulcan back and give himself some space.

Vulcan had almost thought he wouldn't make it but in the last moment his hands got his ankle. His arms quickly embraced his whole leg and lifted him up, only to throw him aside and onto his back. He was throwing some punches and elbows at Xander but as his opponent enveloped himself back in his fire he crawled away from him. The burn on his back was hindering him from doing heavy attacks, especially those that included his back muscles. He could somewhat imagine what his back looked like - his suit burnt through some places and scabs beginning to cover the wounds underneath. But even if he was burnt it rather felt like cold waves were running over it, probably sweat. Or maybe it was simply because of the adrenaline that was slightly dimming his vision. Moving back, a figure and a very familiar scent caught his eye and nose. He slightly turned his head to see Amelie sitting next to Alpha, seemingly unbothered by what the two of them were doing. Good. Vulcan quickly focused back on Xander and stood up from the ground, standing straight the best of his abilities, his arms moving into guard position. He had already began thinking of his next move. The same kick probably wouldn't work a second time. His opponent would see the attack coming and could potentially catch his leg. Tire him out? Let him waste his energy on the cloak? Vulcan would have to adapt to whatever was thrown at him in that moment.

Once Vulcan stopped throwing the punches, Xander opened his eyes again to see that Vulcan had backed away. Quickly getting to his feet, Xander dismissed his fire cloak and spat a mixture of blood and saliva to the side before he got back into the square stance. He was beginning to have a hard time seeing out of his left eye, which was quickly becoming a black eye, but Xander ignored this since it would just be a distraction for him. Seeing this as an opportunity to try out something he'd thought of doing earlier, Xander dropped his stance and took a deep breath before he began fluidly moving his hands about in front of himself. Closing his eyes, and hoping Vulcan was too distracted to strike, Xander began to create a horse-sized dragon, one that looked much like Piper, but was obviously smaller in comparison and completely made up of fire. The dragon let out a roar, not nearly as ear-piercing as Piper's, and then sprinted forward instead of flying, as it charged directly at Vulcan.

His eyes widened as he saw Xander forming the dragon, unknowing how to react to it. "What the..." Vulcan quickly let his guard drop and jumped to the side like a torero would. The bigger the creature the less maneuverability it had. Once he had avoided its charge he looked it over for a second. Was there really any point in shifting? This creature was different from those Amelie created. Ice had structure, something to bite into. This thing was pure flames. How was he supposed to fight it? Maybe he wasn't. Maybe it was a distraction. The master was his target, not the servants. He assumed that Xander was exhausted from creating such a huge thing. The moment Vulcan had jumped to the side he spun around and threw a stepping sidekick at Xander, targeting his chin and neck area. This attack gave him a huge range, almost the length of his whole body and at the same time was one of the most powerful kicks one could use in a street fight, which was basically a variety of martial arts combined.

Xander felt victorious for a few moments as he watched Vulcan's surprise and then frantic dive to the side. Maybe this would wo- His thoughts were cut off abruptly as he suddenly found himself on the ground with his vision temporarily blacked out and his mind reeling. What just happened? Groaning, Xander struggled to get back to his feet, but found that he was fighting consciousness more than anything at the moment. With his vision still temporarily knocked out, Xander didn't really have too good of an idea as to where Vulcan was. He couldn't just throw fire about randomly either with Amelie and Alpha nearby. Getting to his knees, Xander held his arms out, with his palms skyward and began funneling the fire dragon back to himself, creating a fireball in his palms that was increasing by the minute. The second Xander knew where Vulcan was, he'd launch the fireball at him, but he was waiting until Vulcan was close enough that there was no chance he'd miss.

Vulcan was getting an impression that Xander was telling the truth about him not being really good at hand-to-hand combat or street fights in general it seemed. When he landed the kick it had thrown him a few steps backwards. He could have very well continued throwing the very same pushing or sidekicks wasn't it for the huge fireball starting to form in Xander's palms. Crap crap crap! He wouldn't dare come close to that thing and Xander didn't look like he knew where exactly he was pointing it at either at the moment. Vulcan jumped to the side, trying to get and stay behind his back. Standing on his knees as he was he would be slow to turn around. Also, the fire bender wouldn't be able to hold onto it for forever or that's what he thought anyways. He would have to either fire it or consume it again at some point.

Xander used this moment of peace to blink several times, his vision coming back slowly and blurry at first. Slowly shaking his head and blinking more, Xander's vision remained a bit blurry, but he could see better now. Looking around, he didn't see Vulcan at first until he realized with a start that Vulcan was behind him. His heart began racing at this, instantly feeling vulnerable, and he took a deep breath before he left the fireball levitating on its own and struggled to his feet, stumbling to the side a few feet. Regaining his balance, for the most part, Xander slowly turned around to face Vulcan, the fireball now levitating between the two. Xander knew he'd have to use the fireball sooner rather than later, not because it'd drain him, but because if he didn't launch it then it'd implode. Using his one good eye, Xander stared Vulcan down and spat to the side while he waited to see what the wolfman would do next.

Vulcan was glad he could get to the back of his opponent but this feeling evaporated like a waterdrop on a hot stove the moment he saw the fireball levitating between them. So it didn't need the bender to exist after all. That was just great. He didn't want to imagine the extent of damage it would deal if or more precisely when it hit him. It would be a huge wave of heat and pain. There wasn't much he could do but run. He couldn't shift simply because he was such a large target but he was hoping that this way the fireball would fly towards him and miss him, even by an inch. He waited for a mere second, the muscles on his legs ready to propel him in the desired direction, then attempted to run in a rather tight circle around Xander, in the opposite direction of Amelie and Alpha. Although he wasn't worried about Amelie stopping the fireball he decided not to risk it.

Xander frowned when Vulcan began running a tight circle around him, as relieving as it was that Amelie and Alpha were no longer in the danger zone now Xander was in a more precarious position. Hoping that his fire bending would continue to perform new feats for him throughout this scrimmage, Xander began siphoning the fireball, creating a ring of fire around himself to hopefully keep Vulcan from striking out at him. At the same time, Xander knew the ring wasn't big enough to protect a whole lot of himself. Unless he created a fire tornado...but Xander quickly dismissed this idea. Such a creation would be far too dangerous in this area and it'd most likely cause more harm than good.

(Alert who? xD On a side note, I should probably go ahead and make a CS for my prison torturer before she makes her appearance...)

When the fireball dissipated Vulcan almost sighed in relieve but was cut short as it seemingly had just changed its form and was now acting as a shield for Xander. Still, seeing the greatest threat gone Vulcan stopped just behind his back, always trying to stay out of his sight. But the question remained. What was he supposed to do now? In moments like these he cursed his gift for having no long-range attacks. For safety measures he still brought his guard back up so even if something was to come at him it would hit his arms, covered by the protective suit, rather than his head. "So what now, fireboy? What will it be that you throw at me?"

Xander really wasn't sure where to go from here. All of the typical attacks he'd resort to would be either too uncontrollable or volatile and he was working keeping control at the moment. Turning around quickly to face Vulcan head on, Xander smirked and said, "If only I didn't have to practice restraint. Then this fight would've ended already." Pausing, Xander was temporarily distracted as he heard incoming thunder and glanced to the side and then skyward as he took note of some incoming storm clouds. So much for a sunny day.

"We're both restraining ourselves. You do realize that I could have easily shifted and tore you to pieces instead of throwing those lazy punches and kicks." he said and followed his gaze to the storm clouds in the sky nearing by the minute. He didn't want to fight in the rain and storm and he was sure Amelie and Alpha didn't want it either. "I think we just got ourselves the best referee in the world - Mother Nature." he smirked, lowered his guard and stood upright as best he could. "Is's a tie then." he gave him his hand. Better to end their match this way, rather than have a winner and a loser and possibly ruin their friendship - something Vulcan valued more that all the fame in the world. And he had to admit - Xander had given him one heck of a fight. A fight he hadn't had in years.

Xander grinned and nodded, fully understanding that Vulcan could've done way more damage. Considering the injuries he currently had, Xander didn't want to know how strong Vulcan's real punches and kicks were. Smirking at the comment of Mother Nature being their referee, Xander rolled his eyes and then walked up to Vulcan before reaching out to take his hand and accept that it was a tie. Not a second later, there was a sudden, blinding flash, as lighting struck Xander and then coursed through his body before lashing out through his hand and striking Vulcan in the chest. Xander had no idea what was happening until it was too late and he definitely had no way of controlling what had just happened to his friend.

(I mean, there was a reason why I called in the storm, plus we mentioned that Xander could probably control lightning at one point, but he's never experienced it before. Also, your character isn't dead or anything. I'm not killing him. xD I just thought Xander could have a rude awakening to his ability to control lightning)

(yeah, a few years I go I did watch it... Alright. Will respond in a minute. Gotta look up people getting hit by lightning. lol)

(You know, he could have an awesome scar from this. :P )
